【今日の格闘技】朝倉海選手は残念ながら負けてしまった。UFCをずっと追いかけているTOMOKUNIくんの予想通りの結果になった。フィジカルの差が圧倒的で朝倉海が何をやってもパントージャは余裕の表情だった。階級を落としてのタイトルマッチに挑んだ彼にはリスペクトしかないが、それでもUFCの実力はハンパないことを認めざるを得ない。あとパントージャはケージの使い方も慣れていたように思う。ケージといえば(ここから関係ない話になるけれど)RIZINのナンバーシリーズもケージにしてほしい。なぜなら選手たちのファイトはとても美しいのに、リング際で4人くらいのレフェリーが選手を支える絵がひじょうに見苦しくて、あれがどうしても許せない。ああいうのを見て興行主として何も感じないのだろうか。入場時の演出とか上物を派手にするのもいいけれど、もっと大事な部分に目を配ってほしい。先日の名古屋大会(ケージマッチ)のように大晦日も気を揉むことなく闘いを楽しみたいのだが、PRIDEからの伝統が云々とかの話になってしまうのかな。

I have decided to give a description for each Shinsengumi member I've come across. It came out of a desire to not let these members to go down as nameless persons in fandom. Those who have studied the Shinsengumi would surely know the charter members, the commanders, vice-commander and Captains of this police group as they have been a topic of various films, drama, novels, manga, anime etc. They are included here as well, along with those whom most of you haven't heard before.

As some of us know these men did not formally start out as the Shinsengumi nor did they end in that name. Most accept that the Shinsengumi started with a group of men breaking up from the Roshigumi that was ill-formed by Kiyokawa Hachiro. They will not be given the name "Shinsengumi" (Newly Selected Group) and will be known instead as "Miburoshi" (their headquarters was in Mibu village in the Yagi and Maekawa residence) until they have proven themselves worthy enough to be acknowledged by the Kyoto Protector, Matsudaira Katamori, Daimyo of Aizu and be officially sanctioned as a police force for the Bakufu. They will not retain the name however, using instead the Koyou Chibuntai (Pacification Corps) during their decline and inevitable end, at least in history.

Sanrio, 60° aniversario.

Sanrio es un nombre que tal vez no diga mucho si no eres fan de sus personajes, sin embargo, muchas niñas crecieron con algunos de sus artículos; peluches, papelería o pequeños bolsos, provocando muchas emociones en ellas, como la de sentirse apapachadas, especiales, femeninas y sobre todo ternura, mucha ternura.

Fundada en 1960 por el Sr. Shintaro Tsuji, con el objetivo de procurar un sustento para su familia terminada la segunda guerra mundial, cumple 60 años este 10 de agosto. Él Sr. Tsuji nunca pensó que su idea se convertiría en una de las marcas más representativas de la cultura japonesa.

Sanrio tiene presencia en varios países, incluyendo Estados Unidos, Hong Kong, China, Emiratos Árabes y Alemania por mencionar algunos. Su principal modelo de negocio está enfocado en la venta de varias categorías de artículos. Él Sr. Tsuji se dio cuenta de que aquellos que estaban “decorados” con un dibujo se vendían mejor, así que contrató a un diseñador para que colocara unas “fresas” en un par de sandalias, las cuales se vendieron de inmediato.

Con el tiempo, se crearon muchos personajes, algunos no funcionaron del todo y fueron retirados de manera inmediata, otros se convertirían en íconos del movimiento kawaii y formarían parte importante de la infancia de muchas niñas, que se convertirían en verdaderas entusiastas.

Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompom Purin, Cinnamon Roll, Pochakko, Aggretzuko y Gudetama son algunos de los personajes más representativos de la marca, que podemos encontrar en casi todo, desde ropa, artículos para la oficina, para la casa, papelería, equipo de cómputo y hasta en platillos especiales.

Además de los ya mencionados, la marca también enfoca sus esfuerzos en la venta de tarjetas de regalo, en la producción de películas y video, restaurantes temáticos y parque de diversiones.

Algunos de sus personajes, como Mewkledreamy, Show By Rock y Agrretzuko tienen su propio anime donde podemos ver sus aventuras y conocerlos de una forma más personal. Estos programas son transmitidos por canales de streaming, como Crunchyroll o Netflix.

No todo es ventas para Sanrio; las causas sociales también son importantes. Hello Kitty, uno de sus principales personajes tiene su propio canal en Youtube donde nos presenta sus aventuras, además de las misiones que realiza con otras organizaciones, como las Naciones Unidas o la Unicef, para quien ha prestado sus servicios como embajadora de buena voluntad.

En nuestro país la marca organiza, con la colaboración de Total Running, la carrera Hello Kitty Fun Run, de 3, 5 y 10 km, la cual ha tenido mucho éxito entre los entusiastas del personaje. Con este movimiento buscan fomentar el ejercicio entre las entusiastas de la marca.

Sanrio ha conseguido posicionarse como una de las marcas más importantes en el mundo. El éxito de sus personajes puede compararse con el de Mickey Mouse y compañía. Esto ha motivado a varios autores a escribir libros enteros donde narran su historia y describen que es lo que hace especial a la marca y a sus personajes.

Hace unos meses, el Sr. Tsuji anunció su retiro, dejando a su nieto - Tomokuni Tsuji - al mando de la dirección general de la marca. Él tiene la misión de adaptar la marca y mantenerla vigente entre los entusiastas de todo el mundo. Sin duda es un gran reto. Hace unas semanas se publicó en varios periódicos especializados en economía, los resultados financieros del modelo de negocio de la compañía. Se ha detectado una caída en las ventas a nivel internacional del 25%, debido a la pandemia.

A pesar de esto, Sanrio es una marca sólida que ocupa un lugar especial entre las entusiastas que adquieren sus artículos. El secreto; todas ellas crecieron con sus personajes, cuando se convirtieron en adultas y empezaron a trabajar pudieron adquirir productos más sofisticados que podrían ocupar en sus labores diarias, aumentando sus colecciones. Ellas han heredado su afición a sus hijas quienes también se han convertido en coleccionistas activas.

En palabras del Sr. Tsuji, el negocio de Sanrio es la “Comunicación Social”, que busca la felicidad a través de llevarnos bien con nuestros semejantes. Primero con nuestro círculo social inmediato, nuestra familia, después con nuestros amigos y nuestros compañeros de trabajo. El conducto que une todas las actividades de la marca es la idea de “dar desde el corazón hacia el corazón”.

Cada vez que damos un regalo de la marca y vemos la reacción que siente la otra persona cuando lo recibe es muy reconfortante, y cada vez que recibimos uno de sus artículos como regalo nos sentimos queridos y valorados. Esas emociones no tienen comparación y por eso estamos muy agradecidos. Deseamos que haya Sanrio por otros 60 años y más. Muchas felicidades. Les deseamos lo mejor en su aniversario.

【今日の格闘技】今日はイラストレーターのTOMOKUNIくんと会ったのだけど、話題の中心はどうしても朝倉海ということになる。日本の予想とは裏腹にオッズは圧倒的にアレシャンドレ・パントージャ有利となっている。もちろん知名度の差もあるが(当たり前だけど)UFCファイターは強い。UFCを見続けているTOMOKUNIくんは勝利するのは至難の業だと分析する。逆にいうと、この一発勝負に勝てればいきなりアメリカンドリームをつかめるわけだ。閃光の膝蹴りで全部をひっくり返す朝倉海が見られれば最高なのだが。

Born - Unknown. From Bitchutakahashi, Bicchu Matsuyama clan.

Died - April 1, 1866 at the bottom of the stairs to the Gion Shrine in Kyoto.

Family History -

He was the eldest son of a Bicchu Matsuyama clansman. His father was an instructor of Tyokushin Ryu, a sword style.

Tani had two younger brothers, Mantaro and Masatake, who later became Kondo Shuhei when he was adopted by Kondo Isami.

Before the Shinsengumi -

Tani was an attendant in his clan in 1856, but he made some mistake for which he was forced to leave. He then went to Osaka. His brother, Mantaro, went with him and they opened a dojo where Tani was an instructor. He is supposed to have taught Taneda Houzouin Ryu, a spear-fighting style, to Harada Sanosuke at some point during this time period.

Spear Ryu Rank - Menkyo Kaiden

Although it was not listed for certain, his rank in Tyokushin Ryu was probably also Menkyo Kaiden since he was supposed to be an instructor like his father. At any rate, he was said to be a very good swordsman as well as good with a spear.

Shinsengumi Years -

Tani joined the Shinsengumi in 1863, along with his two brothers. His former association with Harada Sanosuke may have been what helped him become a captain so quickly. He remained a captain of the group until his death in April of 1866. At the height of the Shinsengumi he was the Captain of the Seventh Unit and Teacher of Spear.

On January 8, 1865, he somehow suffered a slight wound to his foot.

How Tani died is one of the mysteries of the Shinsengumi. It happened suddenly while he was at the bottom of the Gion Ishidanshita, the stone stairway leading up to the Gion Shrine (also called Yasaka jinja) in Kyoto. The official cause of his death is listed as a stroke.

Of course there are stories which say this was a cover-up and that he was really murdered. One such version has it that Tani acted “shamefully” when acting as a second during the seppuku of Tauchi Tomo.

Tauchi had been wounded by the lover of his woman. For this reason he was accused of “non-preparation as a samurai” and ordered to kill himself on March 2, 1865. As his second, Tani was supposed to behead him as soon as he had cut himself in order to prevent prolonged suffering. Unfortunately Tani somehow failed to finish Tauchi with his first swing, an unforgivable error. Embarrassed by his mistake, Tani ended up failing several more times. Finally Saito was no longer able to bear it and so stepped in to finish the job himself.

Due to this event, Tani lost his reputation within the Shinsengumi. Kondo is thought to have ordered Saito to execute him one month later.

However there is a major problem with the story. Official records prove that the actual date of Tauchi Tomo’s seppuku was January 10, 1867 [February 14, 1867], a full nine months after Tani’s death. It has also been pointed out that Tani was in fact expert enough with a sword that it seems highly unlikely he could have messed up so badly. (Versions of the story which say he failed as Tauchi’s second generally try to make it that he was incompetent with a sword.) Furthermore at least one of his brothers stayed with the group for more than a year after his death.

Another tale has it that Tani and Saito went out drinking together on the night of his death. They became intoxicated and Tani made the mistake of claiming he was better with a sword than Saito. Outraged, the third captain killed him. Of course, one then has to wonder why Kondo and Hijikata would simply allow Saito to run around randomly knocking off other captains. At the very least there should have been some evidence of behind-the-scenes punishment, but this is apparently not the case.

In the end it appears most likely that Tani really did die of natural causes.
