The Tomb Raider DLC for Powerwash Simulator has me going from, “Okay this is kinda silly out of context.” to “Uhhhhhhh Lara? You realize it’s 2023, not 1923, riiiiiiight? Laaaaaara, there’s a LOT of ethical issues with your dusty treasure room of stolen artifacts only you get to go into.”
Which.
Also means I basically went from, “Maybe I’ll play Tomb Raider” to “lol not touching this shit until they address THE GIANT ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM AND NO LARA IT’S NOT THE FUCKING DINOSAUR IN YOUR DISGUSTING TREASURE ROOM”

I finally finished playing the Rise of the Tomb Raider and I gotta say the ending was so disappointing. I gave up on a completionist run when I got the Soviet installation to 99% and couldn't find the last document.
I feel like it's poor game design if all the "optional" documents and codex are required reading for actually getting anything out of the plot. The knowledge that the divine source stores people's souls could have been used in a cut scene or something to have Lara realize that the source shouldn't get out.
Because as is, she went from constantly taking Jacob she has to find it for her dad and because you can save people with it, to thinking it can't get out and destroying it. Where did that emotional development happen? Because it certainly wasn't on screen.
Also when Jacob turns to dust, that scene really needed to be a beat longer. I had to guess that he turned to dust and then confirm via reading the internet that that was what I was supposed to be seeing.
Also also! We really needed a scene where she talks to Sofia about her DEAD DAD AND PROPHET. Like, what are the Remnant going to do now? There's no divine source to protect and their leader is dead. Will they disband and rejoin society? Will they stay there? Is Trinity going to kill them all? Anything?
Charitably we can just assume that Lara doesn't care about these people even though she spent the whole game trying to earn their trust by running their errands. In true tomb raider fashion, she got the tomb, raided it, got what she wanted, and peaced out, consequences be damned.
The ending is rushed, with no emotional payoff and the conclusion emotionally unearned.
Gah.
I'm a million years behind but I'm hoping Shadow of the Tomb Raider is better.

Rise of the Tomb Raider - Blood Ties!
Man what a great DLC that was. Kind of loved the fact that it was so different but still fitted into the general game so well. Great work!

Lara’s Home Gets Deep Cleaning in PowerWash Simulator
Square Enix Collective, in partnership with Crystal Dynamics, recently announced a free Tomb Raider DLC for PowerWash Simulator to be released at the end of the month across all platforms.
Developed by British studio FuturLab, PowerWash Simulator is a relaxing and oddly-satisfying game that puts you in the boots of a skilled cleaner to, as its title suggests, use a power washer on everything you can think of, from patios to public parks and even vehicles, splashing away all the dirt and grime built up over time and getting them sparkly clean. Besides a single player campaign you can also share the fun with your friends in an online co-op mode.
🧼 Tomb Raider Special Pack
So what’s the Tomb Raider Special Pack all about, you ask? Well if you happen to be a classic fan like us you’re in for a pretty nostalgic treat! Make sure to watch the video below for a quick teaser on what to expect from the DLC.
youtube
First appearing in Tomb Raider (1996), then Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft (1997), and finally in Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft (1998), the most iconic humble abode in gaming returns in all of its glory free to explore and clean away. It comes complete with a short-story campaign and five levels.
Any Tomb Raider fan knows that Lara’s adrenalised by the thrill of adventure, but for you, satisfaction comes in the form of a squeaky-clean surface!
You’ll ensure the Manor is in tip-top condition to host guests at one of Lara’s upcoming fundraising events, whilst she takes care of business elsewhere. As you prove yourself against Lady Croft’s exacting standards, you’ll transition from commissioned cleaner to trusted friend; being invited into more exclusive areas of the manor to clean treasures from around the world.
“What Tomb Raider fan hasn’t explored Croft Manor and thought ‘Winston could really use some help with these grounds! I would love to power wash this place!’?” asked Dallas Dickinson, Franchise General Manager. “Now, with the help of Square Enix Collective and FuturLab that’s not only possible, but immensely satisfying as well.”
Dan Chequer, Lead Designer at FuturLab also added, “Creating the Tomb Raider Special Pack has been an honour and a fantastic experience. We can’t wait for players to get up close and personal with Croft Manor and explore its many secrets!”
🧽 FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Back again and I’ve officially started TWO MORE WIPS, both somehow to totally set in the GTA universe (again thank you @beeutifulllov3r for the kick to get back into GTA the last week)!
First one is totally set in the GTA universe and is the prequel to Marina, Luis, and Tony’s adventure in Los Santos being GTA 4/Ballad of Gay Tony proper. This will explore in true depth how Marina manages as only an 18 yr old to fuck up their lives even more than Tony and Luis already do to themselves in TBGT. And as teased via flashbacks in TBMS, it starts off in a dramatic way (sorta).
Onto #2 and the more proud one so far for me: remember that certain Lara Croft manip I showed back in April with both the background of my profile and that pinned post? Well it’s finally here!
Lara Croft is sucked by bestie Samantha Nishimura along with the rest of the so far Endurance submarine crew into taking a vacation in Liberty City where Sam wants to get Lara out of her shell by going for a night on the town. But as you might guess, Lara’s got a more serious mission.
She’s heard rumblings of her mentor and surrogate father Conrad Roth in unfortunately making the same mistake her father made once or twice: getting involved with shady people whom not to trust. And she’s determined to investigate. However, as you GTA fans know Liberty City is full of dangerous criminals and in Roth’s case there’s a new generation of criminals bred within the last 3-4 yrs since Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebbitz, and Luis Lopez unknowingly changed the criminal landscape for better or worse. And Roth owes money to one of them looking to carve his own name in the city’s underground…
The effect in all this: Lara is putting herself in serious danger and if things go wrong, Roth will have to undergo a dangerous adventure to save his Little Bird. Btw this takes place a year before Yamatai and 4 yrs after the events of GTA4+TLAD/TBGT.
Both the opening chapters of Tony Prince and His Bitch and Roth And His Ransom contain GTA’s usual strong-derogatory language with so far homophobic and sexist remarks, violence, kidnapping, non consensual bondage, touching, humilation, and implied rape+sexual slavery.
Btw only posting the missing poster inspired by this tale. Book cover is in Roth and Ransom. If you’re looking for manips from GTA, they’re in the post from a few days ago down below.

A Mansão Croft recebe limpeza a fundo no PowerWash Simulator!
Tumblr media
🧼 Tomb Raider Special Pack
