First Travel Abroad! (Part One)
Before going to the airport:
Step 1: Secure a Passport
Regular Processing: 950php (10-15 days)
Expedited: 1200 (5-7 days)
I got mine at DFA SM Manila and the processing time only took less than 30 minutes.
Step 2: Print all necessary documents
- Hotel Booking
- Flight Itinerary
- COE
- Photo copy of your own company ID, PSA birth certificate
Airport Process:
Note: Make sure to go to the airport 2-3 hours before your flight to complete all the necessary procedures.
Step 1: Make sure to identify which Terminal you should go to. Terminal 1-3 are for International flights.
Step 2: Make sure to prepare your e-ticket or boarding pass upon entering the facility as most security guards would as for it
Step 3: Continue with the security and baggage check
Step 4: Pay the travel tax worth 1620php at the airport cashier. Make sure to get the receipt as you need to present it upon check in.
Make sure that the travel tax you would be paying is not yet included in your ticket purchase or else you would have paid doubled. lol
Step 5: You may opt to do early online check in to save some time but you would still need to look for your airline’s counter to retrieve your boarding pass. The airport crew will inform you about your gate number and boarding time so be attentive.
The airline check in counter usually opens 2 hours before your flights. There are monitors around the airport that would show your airline and flight’s information.
Step 6: Immigration
Fill out the departure form that needs to be submitted to the Immigration officer.
You can fill it out will in queue to save some time!
Line up to the Immigration area and prepare all the necessary documents to be shown to the airport officer. It’s important that you stay calm, polite and honest. The officer might ask you different questions like (where would you stay? what will you do in that specific country? Where are you currently working?) Answer only the questions that are asked. No need to explain! Show the documents IF they only asked for it. Wait for your passport to be stamped.
Step 7: Final security check
You would need to again pass a conveyor belt and have all your belongings scanned.
Step 8: Boarding gate
Look for your boarding gate and make sure to just wait near the area to avoid no show.
Other helpful information to consider for NAIA Airport:
You may schedule your passport appointment here: https://www.passport.gov.ph/appointment
Your passport could either be delivered to your chosen address or you may pick it up at the same DFA you went to
You may request for your PSA birth certificate here: https://www.psaserbilis.com.ph/Default.aspx (This will be delivered to your chosen address in 2-5 days via 2GO) Fee is 365php
At the airport always practice active listening. Make sure to be attentive in most public announcements.
There are security personells scattered around the airport so do not hesitate to ask.
Upon arrival:
We would basically follow the same procedure. Once the plane lands we would need to follow the queue that would lead us to the new country’s airport.
Step 1: Immigration
In my case, I went to Vietnam for my first travel abroad and their Immigration officer didn’t ask for any documents. I just waited for him to look into my passport and stamp.
Step 2: Look for airport monitors to find the information where you should claim your check in baggage.
Step 3: Secure a sim card or pocket wifi
As for us, we paid 300php for a 5GB sim card. We purchased it online and claimed it at the Vinaphone’s counter.
Now you are good to go! I hope this blog post will help you. Enjoy!

TRAVEL DIARY | BAGUIO 219
We are down to the last 2 months of 2019 and I am so glad I was able to squeeze in a little trip up North with the B! We are excited to finally escape our daily work routine. It was a great time to visit my brother Choi too, who is currently studying in Baguio.
I booked our hotel via ZENROOMS. (which is now my favorite hotel app! I love how they offer clean, comfortable yet very affordable rooms!) We chose Casa Bel Baguio that only cost us 1810.00php for 2 nights. (I used a 20% promo code too!) You can’t expect much from it as it is very basic though I was surprised that ours included a balcony and a decent parking space. This is probably one of the reasons why we didn’t opt for the prettier options on AirBnB. Madaming mas maganda but it’s either mahirap puntahan or there are no guaranteed parking space. Casa Bel located along Marcos Highway which is 15-20 minutes away from the city proper.
We didn’t visit the other common tourist spots because we’ve been here a few times already. We only went to Camp John Hay just for some photo ops. They do offer a lot of cool adventures but were too lazy (or scared lol) to try any. You can check the list here: https://campjohnhay.com/explore.html
Inside Camp John Hay is a garden called Bell House. We paid an entrance fee of 48php/head.
WHERE TO EAT IN BAGUIO:
ARCA’S YARD
Location: Tiptop, Ambuclao Road, Baguio City
We had our first breakfast in Baguio at this very dreamy cafe called Arca’s Yard. It is located approx. 15-20 minutes from the city proper. It is an old 3-story house converted into a very cozy and homey restaurant. We sat on a table beside a white wooden window where I enjoyed sipping my hot chocolate drink while I appreciate the beautiful view of tall Pine trees swaying outside.
WE ORDERED THE FOLLOWING:
LONGGANISA - (165)
HUNGARIAN SAUSAGE WITH BACON AND GG - (210)
CACAO HOT CHOCOLATE - (75) ugh! this one set the bar up high. I love how authentic it tastes.. it’s perfect for the cold breeze outside.
CREAM OF MUSHROOM - I forgot to take note of the price. The B ordered this one and he really liked it. He said the smooth texture of the soup is very creamy and tasty. It’s like the ingredients melt and dance in his mouth which he really liked.
HODORI KOREAN AND JAPANESE RESTAURANT
Location: Mabini Street | Session Road
I craved for Samgyupsal on our first night in Baguio. This one is located near Session Road so we gave it a try.
390PHP/per person for unlimited meat and serving dishes
You’ll get 4 types of meat: Samgyupsal (Pork Belly) Woosamgyup (Beef Belly) Pork Bulgogi and Beef Bulgogi
They also offer additional serving dishes: (which are also part of the unlimited)
- Shrimp Tempura (which to my surprise doesn’t really taste like one. PLEASE SKIP THIS)
- Fried Chicken
- Seasoned Chicken
- Kimbab
- California Maki _(This together with the Japchae were okay)
- Japchae
*Note that they do offer Korean ice cream but it is no longer part of the unlimited :)
GLENN’S 50′S DINER
Location: 92 Upper General Luna Road**, Corner Brent Road
I honestly have high expectations with this diner as a lot of bloggers have been raving about this. (There is another branch which is only called “50′s Diner” located inside Porta Vaga mall) The B and I arrived there just in time for lunch so we had to wait for about 10 minutes before we got our table. I was expecting it to look close like the Filling Station in Makati but the retro vibes was not really there. Maybe because it was too small and the place was packed with customers when we went there.
WE ORDERED THE FOLLOWING:
GRILLED PORK BELLY - 135PHP (Soft and tender meat. It was good!)
BLT - 1150PHP (The bun was really big! I enjoyed my burger though nothing was really special about it)
CREAM OF MUSHROOM - 60 (This one doesn’t taste home-made. I feel like they used those easy-cook sachets to make this)
STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE - 70 (I am a sucker for Strawberry milkshakes and this one was what I really loved. The combination of milk and strawberry was perfectly blended. It was not too sweet and I find it very affordable for the big glass.
BAGUIO CRAFT BREWERY
Location: Marcos Highway
This is another must-try place in Baguio as it gives a whole new social drinking experience. Too bad we went there during a black out in the area so we were only able to check out the roof top without experiencing the view of the city lights below the building. It was a great experience as it was my first time to try craft beer. How it works is you have to go to the cashier where all the craft beers are located. You may ask for free taste until you find what beer really suits your liking.
We ordered the following:
Lagud - Strawberry Fruit Beer - (180PHP) I played safe and ordered this one. hehe This was actually my brother’s first choice. It was good. It tastes like wine to me!
Kraken - mixed with coffee - (190PHP)
English Man in New York - mixed with caramel - (190PHP)
SIZZLING PLATE
Location: 116 Session Road
The B has been eyeing this the moment we passed Session Road. We could see a lot of people dining in so we finally gave it a try on our 2nd night in Baguio. We were surprised that this restaurant is the same one we see inside SM’s food court. However they do offer bigger serving that still didn’t hurt our pockets.
WE ORDERED THE FOLLOWING:
GRILLED PORKCHOP
T-BONE STEAK - 240PHP
SALISBURY STEAK - 161PHP
CREAM OF MUSHROOM
ILI LIKHA ARTISTS VILLAGE
Location: Assumption Rd
You should definitely consider going to this place when you go to Baguio. It’s not your typical food hub as the entire place was built with big trunk of trees. All the pieces made to assemble the food hub are recycled which is really evident if you would walk around the place. While appreciating the crazy aesthetics of the entire place, you could fill in your stomachs from the different food stalls inside. You can order from any of the stalls and they would bring you your food wherever you want to be seated.
We ordered the following: (We ordered these from 3 different merchants but I wasn’t able to take note of each names)
BALBACUA - 75 (I’ve been curious about this too as I’ve read this dish in a lot of other blog post. They said it taste like “pares” which I don’t really eat but I gave it a try anyway... locals, please don’t get mad at me but I feel like matabang siya. :(
RICE - 35 (I ordered one rice because the dish doesn’t include it yet)
BULLET PROOF COFFEE - 110 (Coffee is always a good idea anyway. I loved this!)
PINIKPIKAN - 110 (Here’s another dish we got curious with. It turned out it taste exactly like Tinola hehe masarap!)
ALIGUE RICE WITH BAGNET + 1 STEAMED RICE - 170 (I enjoyed the Aligue rice as it was very tasty and flavorful pero naumay kami with the rich taste so mixed it with steamed rice hehe)
SAGADA COFFEE with 1 free refill - 50
This is a little bridge going to the other side of the food hub.
you can dine wherever you want!
This one is pretty awesome! They have a small theater designed with wood and trunks. I believe this is where they would invite people and play indie films.
OTHER INFO I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE :)
- Total gas was 2000.00 for an AT Sedan Hyundai Accent (departed from Tandang Sora, Quezon City. 3 days stay. Including city driving)
- Total toll gate was around 1300.00
- Total budget for pasalubong was 600-1200.00 (Dun kayo sa Public Market nila bumili kasi mas mura yung mga pasalubong dun. Mas makakatawad din. Sample pricing: 120php for the big Choco Flakes, 80php for 1 pack of cheese bars, 100php for 7 Fuji Apples, 80php for the Lengua)
- If it’s your first time going to the night market. Only bring a small bag or purse. Expect na sobrang daming tao talaga. They open at 9PM :)
- Looking for the best cake? YOU MUST TRY VIZCO’S STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE! Located along session road :)

Birthday Salubong | Lake Pandin
The B and I were planning a quick trip outside Manila to celebrate my 24th birthday. As always I am the one in charge for searching so I needed to consider his limited free time. (One day rest day lang so bawal overnight!) The B actually suggested for us to try chasing water falls in Laguna. So I started searching more about our province. (Yes proud Laguna girl here! Read ME to know more about our first trekking in Laguna) That is when I saw blog entries about LAKE PANDIN. I have never experienced swimming in a lake before so the thought really excites me.
How to go there:
- From Manila ride a bus bound to Lucena. (There are a lot of different bus lines travelling this route but we chose Jacliner) *Tell the conductor you are going to SM San Pablo* (Fare is at 135php/each)
- Alight SM San Pablo. There are available tricycles around the area. Ask to be drop at 711 near San Pablo church (Fare is at 50php) (Approx 15 mins travel time)
- Once you arrive 711 you will easily see the jeep terminal. *katabi lang mismo hehe* Take the jeepney bound to ILOG. (Fare is at 13php/each. Approx 15 mins travel time as well) Ask Manong driver to drop you off at Sto. Anghel. (You will see a "Lake Pandin" sign board on the right side of the road)
*From there you just have to walk for about 15-20mins to reach the registration area*
Upon arriving at the drop off point you will surely be greeted by locals offering their assistance to guide you on the way up. (Again it is a 15 to 20 minutes walk up to the registration area but the trail is really easy to follow. Although take note, it can get a little steep pag medjo malapit na sa taas) It is up to you if you want to hire a tour guide. They do not require a fixed amount so kahit magkano iabot mo kay kuya keribels na :) (We gave 200php total for our kuya tour guide.
We availed their Raft + food package for 2 pax (1000php) *You get to enjoy your own raft for 2 hours. *Enough time to swim into the beautiful lake while taking those unlimited Go Pro shots!*
Fun fact: The lake's 100-180 meters deep!!! That is why wearing your life vest is a M U S T. The B's a bit freaked out (heehee) but the locals assured us that there are no creepy sea creatures down there :)
Other information you might want to consider:
- Use of their toilet cost 5php
- Walang maayos na paliguan. As in probinsya style, igip igip.
- Lake Yambo is just minutes away from Lake Pandin. It's another huge lake you want to consider visiting. (but according to the locals they do not offer food packages)
- On our way home we hired a tricycle going to the terminal. (100php for two) *Binaba kami ni kuya driver sa may high way kasi nakakita na siya ng bus bound to Cubao. Nakabili pa kami ng konting pasalubong before boarding*
- Locals are generally friendly and hindi yung tulad ng iba na namimilit :)
- Fresh Buko/25php
- *ITO SUPER OUT OF TOPIC* but for the kikay girls may nakita akong branch ng Jukaykay sa tapat lang halos ng SM San Pablo 😂
- Travel time around 3-4 hours from Manila (This includes Edsa's usual heavy traffic lol)
- Worth it yung meal na kasama sa package (SOBRANG SARAP NG ENSALADA! Huhue)
- According to locals reservations are not really required on weekdays pero if you can be a bit praning and OC like me then please text this number to inquire and get a confirmed booking: Aling Siony - 09299789565
Thank you to my Chubby Bunny B for accompanying me on another travel adventure! Simple, quick yet very fun experience indeed! You guys may also want to watch our video:

BORACAY 2017 | Happy Birthday, B!
Finally after so many food hunts I’ve written recently I am now back in writing another travel adventure! NAMISS KO TO! :) I’m not complaining about all the new things/experiences I’ve had last 2016 kaya hindi masyado nakapag travel but hopefully this year we can climb more mountains, walk in different beach sands and meet more new people! :)
Remember when I took the B on a sweet trekking sesh during his last birthday? :) Click ME if you want to recall :) Of course this year’s birthday celebration is another excuse to splurge out a little bit. (or maybe a little bit more this time? haha) At about 1 month or so before his birthday, we impulsively booked 2 tickets bound to Kalibo! Recalling it now it might actually pass as the best 5 days of my life! :) heehee
It was my first time in the island and man all this time I never really knew how relaxation meant until I stayed there. lol ANG SARAP PALA SA FEELING NA WAPAKELS MGA TAO KAHIT MAG FLOWER CROWN AKO WITH RED LIPSTICK pero naka t-shirt at shorts WALA SILANG KEBER! hahaha I think yung 5 days yung perfect schedule pag gusto mo mag relax, mag enjoy, and mag de-stress from all the hustle back in Manila. ANG DAMI NAMING TIME! Sobrang saya. Pinag-iisipan ko kung masusulat ko ba to ng as detailed as I hope for kasi ang daming ganap pero please bare with the sequence of my kwentos/TIPS *yessshhh*
WHERE TO EAT and medjo DRINK? heehee
Epic
Pretty big restaurant in Boracay and this restaurant gets jam-packed with customers everyday. The food was awesome I just don’t like the customer service. We were informed that the wait time for the Blue Marlin will be 15 minutes but I believe it took about 30 mins before it got served. Maybe a little follow up from the customers won’t hurt. :)
Paradiso Grill
It was our first night in Boracay and we were too hungry from the long travel time. We found this restaurant which had a number of people dined in at around 7 in the evening. We ordered Sinigang sa Hipon and 6pcs barbecue. Sobrang waleyyy laaaaang. The Sinigang didn’t have that unique maasim yet malasa feels like with Max’s or Marina’s. The barbecues were another so-so. We find the sauce too ordinary and sweet. Good thing their customer service were excellent. If you are looking for an affordable restaurant which offers Pinoy favorite dishes pweds na sila :)
Tribal Adventures
We dined here at night and it was super fiiiiine to eat dinner by the beach. I got one of their best sellers which was an Indian dish *forgot what it is called* It was full of flavor and tolerable yung spiciness which alam niyo naman zero tolerance ako about anything maanghang ;)
Hookah Bar
If you want to drink while watching some awesome fire dancers and smoking Shisha then this is definitely the place to be. Chill lang yung place. You’ll get to stay in some cozy little sofas na naka-set up sa sand area. They don’t offer food so talagang pang inuman lang. Honestly mas bet ko yung ganun kasi di masyadong maingay tapos I’m not really a party goer so I don’t appreciate loud music while dancing so mas okay yung ganto. :)
Kalinga bar and Restaurant
Located in Station 2 here’s a restaurant that offers buffet at only 280php! If you’ll ask me okay naman yung food. Madaming choices. Nothing special sa mga luto pero pwede na. I remember their menu were: Oyster, Bicol Express, Menudo, Lumpiang Shanghai, Crab, Ampalaya etc :)
Jonah’s
Sabi nila must try and so we did. Sakto lang yung shakes nila :(
Aria’s
Gelato and Mango shake were the bomb
**Meron pa kaming isang kinainan ng lunch time na nagpaluto kami. I have to search for it kasi nakalimutan ko yung restaurant na**
OTHER RESTAURANTS NA FOR SURE ALAM NIYO NA:
We ate at Mcdonalds and Andok’s twice
lunch at Shakey’s
afternoon kwentuhan and desserts at Starbucks
*para maiba naman* lol
ACTIVITIES:
As popular as it is, there are really a lot of fun activities to do in Boracay. Get ready as you will definitely encounter a lot of locals offering their activities and tour packages. We booked Parasailing + Helmet Diving for 1600php each. The Parasailing experience was definitely memorable! I have been wishing to try it for quite some time now and finally I did *with the love of my life pa! heehee* You get to enjoy staying up in the air for a good 15 minutes! The following day we did another interesting activity in the island which is ATV! *fee is at 1000php/head*. We opted to go to Mount Luho’s view point where you get to see a 360 degrees view of the island. Perfect for photo ops! The last fun activity we did was Paddle boarding *priced at 300php for 1 hour rent* We had super fun playing with it haha kaso ang funny medjo struggle kami ni Bri mag balance pag kaming dalawa so salitan nalang kami lol
SIMPLE THINGS TO CONSIDER:
If you prefer to splurge more on food and activities and keber na kayo sa simpleng hotel basta malinis and MALAPIT sa beach then I would recommend Backpackers Zone 2. We paid a total of 6715php via Agoda for a total of 4 nights. We got a clean basic room na malapit lang sa beach front. (2-3 minutes away)
Again if you are bit in a budget and you want to shop some bazaar clothes (or if basically you are like me na kinulang ng dalang summer dress) then don’t shop at around D*Mall. Sobrang mahal. Yung alam mong basic tank tops na you can buy for 250php-350php nasa 700php dun :( Try to go to the bazaars in Station 3. Afford mga clothes dun and maganda din. I got a white tube romper at 300php :)
Okay this one can be a LITTLE pricier than going DIY but we preferred to book the hotel transfer Air Asia offered in our flight. I heard someone say mas mahal daw yun ng konti pero honestly mas convenient na siya kasi hatid-sundo ka nalang wala ka ng iintindihin or di na kailangan magtanong tanong :)
You may also watch our video to see more of our blissful experience! :)

**To my Chubby Bunny B! Thank you for bringing me to this wonderful place! To more adventures with you
I love you!

Travel Diary | Byaheng Norte | Ifugao, Bontoc, Sagada and Baguio
“I was tucked in our velvety soft comforters as I enjoy the cold wind breezing in our room’s open window. I couldn’t remember any of my dreams that night but I felt like I had a lot. It was one of the best deep sleeps I had in awhile”
This was the second road trip I had with my grand parents. (First one was in La Union. Click ME for the blog post) I love travelling with them because we both enjoy almost the same things. They’re fun and cool and let us do whatever we want to do.
My Abuelo and Abuela were scheduled to visit some relatives in Mountain Province. I, together with the B and my 2 uncles tagged along for the adventure. We left Manila at around 9:30 in the evening and arrived in Mountain Province after almost 11 hours of travelling.
Before reaching our main destination, we stopped at one of the viewing decks for Banaue Rice Terraces. The famous Hagdang-hagdan palayan that we only see in our elementary text books was now in front of us in real life! It looks very magnificent tho it makes us sad to see that there are already a lot of houses being built in and around it.
From Ifugao, it was another 45 minutes travel time before finally reaching Bontoc. I couldn’t imagine seeing a whole new community living mountains away from the metro. It felt like the whole rural place was like Riverdale where in they have their own world and life on their own.
Life in Bontoc is very simple. They don’t have shopping malls or any of our favorite fast food places. They only patronize their own local shops, mini bars and restaurants. Just like any other Filipinos, they do love to sing and drink together with their barkadas but to my surprise they still strictly follow the 10PM curfew.
HOW TO GET TO BONTOC, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE:
1st Option via commute:
Take Coda lines that is bound to SAGADA (It will pass through Bontoc and you can alight there) (Coda lines is located along Cubao, EDSA in front of 5 star) (Fare is at 760/each regular - 980php/each deluxe) (You may opt to book online via biyaheroes.com but note that service fees apply)
Other notes to consider:
2 stop overs
If you will alight Bontoc fare is at 725php/each regular and 935php/each deluxe
Available schedule are at 8:00pm, 9:00pm and 10:00pm DAILY
Online booking should be done 2 days before your travel time. Walk ins are also an option but make sure to go there an hour before to secure a slot.
2nd Option via commute:
Take Victory Liner that is bound to Baguio (click ME to check the fare and schedules available)
From Baguio take the Rising Sun liner bound to Bontoc
Other notes to consider:
2 stop overs
Travel time from Baguio to Bontoc is around 5-6 hours
Expect that there are no fancy hotels in Bontoc. We stayed at an old hotel that offers 800php a night, for 4 people. The hotel is not maintained yet it was clean. Globe reception can also be a little difficult inside their establishments. It’s also very strange that there are a lot of stray dogs around. I heard horrible rumors that locals there love to eat dogs too. :( It’s a disturbing culture I will never understand. Just the thought of it makes me sick and angry.
After 3 nights in Bontoc we planned to stay another night in Baguio before heading back home. Sagada was just 20 minutes away from Bontoc so we decided to eat brunch there first. Temperature was 3x colder up there. Too bad we hadn’t have enough time to check out their tourist spots because all attractions require at least 30 minutes to an hour trekking time.
The cold wind and rain collide as we bravely travel the crazy zig-zag path to Baguio. The air was covered in thick fog but thankfully we arrived safely after 6 hours travel time.
We stayed at City lights hotel. It was strategically located a few blocks away from the famous Session Road. We ate dinner at Rose Bowl (authentic Chinese restaurant) then the B and I decided to take a stroll down their night market. I was able to finally try their famous Strawberry Taho (30php/cup) (It was gooood but I didn’t finish the whole cup ; thinking I might get diabetes in an instant lol)
We also scored a few good deals in their Ukay-ukay. I found a nice red sweater for Bri that only cost 30php! Imagine that! We head home at around 10 or 11pm to finally call it a night.
I was tucked in our velvety soft comforters as I enjoy the cold wind breezing in our room’s open window. I couldn’t remember any of my dreams that night but I felt like I had a lot. It was one of the best deep sleeps I had in awhile.
We went to Strawberry Farm, SM and we ate at a Steakhouse the follow day before heading home. I wish we had more time to visit all the other beautiful places Baguio has to offer. Surely the B and I will go back soon!

Travel Diary | L’Sirene Boutique Resort | Baler, Aurora
Finally, Baler has been ticked off our getaway list (thanks to the B’s family outing!) We had the best 3 days of our lives at L’Sirene Boutique Resort located at Purok 6, Barangay Reserva, 3200 Baler, Aurora. Our travel time was around 6-7 hours from Manila. (I am not sure tho on how to commute going there because we rented a van for this trip)
Baler is a famous surf spot in Luzon and most people would consider staying in Barangay Sabang where all the other hotels and restaurants are located. However our beach front resort is located at Barangay Reserva which is an 8 km drive from all the buzz and it is actually the only resort in the area. The entire place is very peaceful and quiet so you will definitely have an easy-breezy moment taking those wide angled OOTD shots ;)
The resort offers a fresh and cozy Mermaid vibes theme. Each room have a very cute Mermaid blanket and a hammock hang near each door. There is also a long 3-feet pool in the middle of all the rooms making it easy for parents to look after their kiddos.
They also offer a bar and restaurant called HNGRY MRMD. The food were all good but let me at least share with you my favorites: Surfer’s Breakfast (189php) (tocino with fresh tomatoes, eggs and garlic rice), Pork Tonkatsu (249php), Sinampalukang Manok (269php) and Dabarkad’s Bagnet Pancit. (269php) The main courses are good for 2-3 people.
Of course, another way to enjoy the serenity of the place is to stay at their open lounges with a happy glass of cocktail or an iced cold bottle of beer. Too bad they do not offer my favorite drink (Mojito) but i found a pretty good substitute. The B’s sister and I fell in love with their Spiked Basil Citrus Slush (169php/glass) The boys ordered Red Horse and Pale Pilsen but they do also offer hard drinks just so you know.
Other things to consider:
The place is PET FRIENDLY. Yey for my co-fur mommas out there!
Weak to zero connection for SMART users
Don’t expect much on the hotel’s WIFi too (but LTE and 3G is available for Globe users)
Surfing lessons are available (price starts at 400php. 200php for 1 hour lesson and another 200php for the surf rental)
Bonfire by the beach (500php per night) Remember to reserve a slot at the reception because they only offer 2 or 3 sets per night
Expect to see a lot of frogs hopping around at night time :)
They offer FREE parking
For more details please check their website: http://lsireneboutiqueresort.com/
If you want to try out a different restaurant you may opt to go to this 200php buffet called Gerry Shan’s place located at Barangay Sabang. They offer a wide variety of Filipino dishes. The food were okay but most dishes tho were too salty for my liking.
We playfully laugh and jump in the middle of the shore as the waves wildly approach us. indeed this is another summer story to remember.

Travel Diary | Bukal Falls
After almost a year of not exploring new adventures and places, I am finally back with a new travel diary! Gosh, at last after 11 long months I can finally use my hashtag #toldyoushecangoplaces again!
The B and I initially planned a day trip for just us two but we ended up tagging along all my siblings. It was exciting because it was our youngest sister’s first trek and travel with us. We agreed to try Bukal falls. I’ve searched about this place before and the photos on the internet were all magical and beautiful. I just knew it would be a great experience for all of us. Also, my brother, Ryan, have already been there so it was a breeze for me to no longer worry and plan about our whole itinerary.
HOW TO GET THERE:
(From Santa Rosa, Laguna)
Ride a jeepney bound to Crossing - 20php/each (Balibago terminal or you can wait for them to pass along Waltermart, Santa Rosa)
alight along Waltermart, Calamba then wait for buses bound to Santa Cruz - 61php/each
drop off is at DLTB station (approx 2 hrs travel time)
Ride a jeepney bound to Majayjay - 33php/each
alight tryk terminal bound to Bukal falls (approx 45 mins travel time)
take a tricycle going to the Brgy. Bukal Multi Purpose Hall - 15php/each (5 mins travel time) (This is where you will register and start the trail)
(From Manila)
Ride a bus bound to Santa Cruz (Jacliner Cubao/Buendia terminals or DLTB Buendia terminal)
drop off is at DLTB station (approx 2 hrs travel time)
Ride a jeepney bound to Majayjay - 33php/each
alight tryk terminal bound to Bukal falls (approx 45 mins travel time)
take a tricycle going to the Brgy. Bukal Multi Purpose Hall - 15php/each (5 mins travel time) (This is where you will register and start the trail)
It took us about 30 minutes trekking time to reach the falls. The trail was easy even for beginners yet there are still parts that can be challenging, steep and slippery specially when you are about to reach the stream and waterfall. Proper trekking shoes/sandals are very much encouraged to avoid accidents.
We went there on a Sunday and I was surprised to see a huge number of visitors! It seems like the municipal doesn’t limit head counts per day.
(You will have to cross this man-made bridge to reach the falls)
We brought packed lunch and had a little feast on top of some big ass rocks.
If you try to search Bukal falls on Google most photos will give you a very peaceful thin little falls with crystal clear blue and green plunge pool. Yet when we arrived there, the weather was gloomy and it was drizzling almost the entire time making the current (I guess) 2-3x faster and the volume bigger than usual. Tho we were not able to see the enchanting plunge pool I am really happy to experience such spectacular waterfall.
Things/Info to consider:
Given the fact that there were many visitors when we came there, I am happy to see that the entire place is still clean and trash free. (May we all keep it this way please!)
There is a Sari-sari store available in the middle of the trek
Expect to swim in an ice cold stream
TAKE NOTE that the last trip for jeepneys that are bound back to Santa Cruz is at 6-6:30PM
(If you are also from Santa Rosa, Laguna) You may opt to get off at the Balibago van terminal near Jollibee Pagsanjan (jeepney drivers are familiar with it) (1oophp/each)
There is a small Bed and Breakfast hotel available in front of the Municipal hall if you want to spend the night there.
Fees to consider:
Environmental fee 20PHP/each (to be paid at the multi purpose hall)
Tour guide fee 300PHP (I think this is the standard fee) (to be paid at the multi purpose hall)
Life vest rental 50php/each (this is optional tho)
Shower fee 10php/each
Budget per head is around 400php (without food) for a group of 5

VLOG 8 | Tagaytay Hits with the B
It was another “B day” where in we can finally see each other again. Char
The B and I only see each other usually once a week because of work and distance but we find it okay and healthy for our relationship. Laging madaming baon na kwento and miss na hugs and kisses pag magkikita heehee
This time around siya yung pumunta ng Laguna. He planned to go up to Tagaytay for some Bulalo. (As usual #foodhuntsmnl padin ang main plano lol)
We ate at Leslie’s and ordered the following:
Bulalo Special - 625php
Inihaw na Liempo - 299php
We didn’t really expect na good for 4 people pala yung serving nung Bulalo! I definitely find the price worth it. It was riched with flavor and ingredients! (halata naman sa sahog sa photos dibaaaa) Dito nasira diet ko and napa kanin ulit talaga ko nakakainis pero masarap kasi heehee The Liempo though tasted like your ordinary meal from the karinderya.
The B just wanted to do the usual “kape-kape after kumain” but I wanted our Tagaytay date to be lit so I asked if he wanted to go to Sky Ranch.
Actually wala naman siyang choice, kasi kahit ayaw niya sa mga rides syempre gusto niya masaya ako. haha
So we went there because I wanted him to try out Sky Eye. (One of the tallest Ferris Wheels in the country)
Things to consider:
Parking: 50php
Admission Ticket
Php 80php – Weekdays (Mondays to Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
Php 100php – Saturday, Sunday and Holidays (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
Sky Eye (per person / per ride) - 150php
I find their fees a little bit high but because I really want the B to experience it, push na. lol The whole experience was for a good 10 minutes. Basically isang ikot lang pero mabagal. Go watch the video below nalang to see his raw reactions back there. The good part din naman is you get to have a beautiful view of Tagaytay and the other provinces near it. :)
We didn’t bother paying for the other rides but we enjoyed strolling around the leisure park. :) You may check out their website: http://www.skyranch.ph/attractions/sky-eye-ferris-wheel for the list of other attractions to try out :)
Of course we didn’t leave Tags without bonding over coffee at Starbucks Etancia.

Probinsya feels in Luna, La Union
It was just after my birthday when the folks decided to go to La Union. I had to accompany my brother who was tasked to drive my lola and lolo. The grand parents needed to attend a close friend’s funeral and we were told that Ryan and I can explore the province once we get there. So ayun medjo excited na din kami because of course new place means new experience and new blog post! :)
The town that we have to visit is called Luna. It was farther than San Fernando *which is La Union’s main town* and it was also farther than San Juan *which is the go-to place of surfers and travel junkies in La Union*
We stayed at Morning 7 resort (2500php/night for 2 double beds) That is way too affordable for a pretty nice hotel no?
WHAT TO DO IN LUNA, LA UNION:
1. Say a prayer at Our Lady of Namacpacan church
Too bad I wasn’t able to take photos inside pero as you can see labas palang the church looks pretty well-maintained. In my observation super basic and simple lang ng way of living ng mga tao in Luna. (guys recently lang sila nagka -711) But my point is I am very overwhelmed on how they maintain the house of God. Yung alam mong yung mga Love offering ng mga tao every mass e napupunta talaga sa pag retain ng magandang simbahan. Nakakatuwa.
2. Visit Baluarte Watch Tower
Please don’t expect much when going to this place *especially when you are just all about IG worthy photos lol) Based from what the locals told us (as well as a few search in Google) This was built by Spaniards to serve as a lookout from enemies’ danger. *click me for the information source*
*Half of the Baluarte now was restored because of the massive destruction caused by Typhoon Lando*
Pero from here you can see a lot of locals doing there thing (as they segregate the different kinds of stones/pebbles) YOU can also help little kids by buying one of their so called “7 colors” in a plastic bottle. Basically mga makukulay siyang mga bato na inipon nila. :) 30php lang :)
3. Visit Bahay na Bato
Here’s a very good spot for you to slay a pretty OOTD with a very beautiful surrounding! Bahay na Bato is literally a haven of pebbles! I just can’t imagine how many stones were used to build the entire area. There are a lot of interesting spots to check out. They have a 3D museum, a historical museum, houses carved with stones and pebbles and of course a breath-taking view of the ocean.
Entrance fee is just 30php each.
SOBRANG INIT LANG GUYS KASI MOSTLY OPEN AREA SO IREADY NA ANG CAP AND UMBRELLA :)
4. Swim and enjoy the colorful pebbles
We were not able to explore much when it comes to their beach but I could tell you right now that they do not have fine sand like Boracay, YOU will have to experience walking, swimming and even running on a massive blanket of stones! Kahit nung nag swimming kami saglit puro bato padin talaga hehe I suggest you buy yourself a Watersport shoes to be safe. and prepared. :) Nevertheless the experience was worth it. First time ko talaga sa gantong beach and super na amaze ako kasi SOBRANG ganda nung mga stones!
5. Try Grapes Picking on your way home
We had our pahabol adventure on our way home. Once you arrive Buang-Caba madami na kayong makikitang locals na may hawak na signage in big bold letters “GRAPES PICKING”. Of course we were again curious and good thing super game ng grandparents namin! We inquired from one of the guys and we were told we need to pay a minimum 350php (equivalent to 1 kilo of grapes) to try and enjoy the experience. G naman sila lola! So nag motor si kuya local and we just followed him. Along the highway may part dun na papasukan and andun na yung farm. The thrill begins once you reach the area. Mind you ha madaming tourist kaming nakasabay (Sikat na pala siya!) and your heart will melt in seeing the Grapes farm itself. Ang ganda lang. *Another IG worthy place besh!) So ayun your kuya local will allow and teach you the basics in picking your own grapes.
Honestly the grapes were not that sweet (kahit tinuruan na kami ni kuya local kung ano dapat kunin ha) hehe so yung experience lang talaga yung binayaran mo. Anyway it’s also worth it :)
They also offer other local specialties and of course I had to buy their local Grape Wine. (I have to validate this pero alam ko less than 300php yun) They offer free taste and masarap naman siya!
Our trip wouldn’t be complete without the sumptuous meals offered to us
EVERY
SINGLE
MEAL.
Sobrang accommodating ng mga taga probinsya and talagang papatabain ka nila. lol. If ever you’ll get to read this ATE CHI we really enjoyed ALL the dishes you made. HAAAAAYYYYY IGADO!

Exploring Rizal | Photo Diary
Parola Lighthouse
Daranak Falls
Pililla Windmill Farm
Batlag Falls
It was my first time to join our team’s team building. We planned a whole day itinerary to enjoy and explore what Rizal has to offer. The photos above proves how amazing our dear country is. Take note, you don’t even have to travel too far to see an exceptional view because Rizal is just a few hours away from the busy streets of Manila!

Day Hike in Mt. Batulao
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” – Saint Augustine
I couldn’t be happy and thankful enough to have these two amazing brothers whom I can tag along on a spontaneous weekend adventure! Finally another trip was successfully done. Medjo napatagal from our last trekking in Pinatubo. (Which you can check by clicking the link!)
HOW TO GET THERE:
**Generally everyone would come from Manila so I’ll post 2 options because we specifically came from the South already**
OPTION 1
From Manila ride a bus bound to Nasugbu/Lemery (150-155php per head)
Alight at what they call “Ever Crest” You could tell the conductor that you are bound to Mt. Batulao alam na nila yun. (TIP! Once you see the 2 Petron gasoline stations that’s your signal that you’re about to reach the drop off point. May tindahan and tricycles sa right side. There’s also a billboard from the left side that says KC HILL CREST)
From there ride a tricycle that would take you to the drop off point. 20-30php (ayoko na makipagtalo pero 30phph singil samin) 10 minutes away. Expect a little bumpy ride on the way.
On your way home there are tricycles available at the drop off point that can take you back to the highway.
From there wait for buses bound to Pasay/LRT/Cubao
OPTION 2 (What we took)
From Sta Rosa, Balibago ride a van bound to Lemery (150php per head. Vans are located in front of Target mall.)
Alight at what they call “Ever Crest” You could tell the conductor that you are bound to Mt. Batulao alam na nila yun. (TIP! Once you see the 2 Petron gasoline stations that’s your signal that you’re about to reach the go down. May tindahan and tricycles sa right side. There’s also a billboard from the left side that says KC HILL CREST)
From there ride a tricycle that would take you to the drop off point. 20-30php (ayoko na makipagtalo pero 30phph singil samin) 10 minutes away. Expect a little bumpy ride on the way down.
On your way home there are tricycles available at the drop off point that can take you back to the highway. (We paid 100php for 3 heads)
From there we took a bus bound to Pasay/LRT Buendia (dadaan to ng Olivarez) (25php each)
We went down in Olivarez and took a tricycle going to Tagaytay’s public market (where the jeepney terminals are located) (40php)
From the public market ride a jeep bound back to Balibago (40php each)
We arrived at the drop off area at 9:47am (Oh diba nag timer ako haha) From there we listed down our names and we were informed that the registration fee would be paid at Peak 8. There are 2 trails you could choose from. The old or the new as what they call it. We opted to take the new trail because it is easier according to the locals AND you get a very perfect 360 degrees view on top. (Which now I can say is really true!) 30php reg fee per head. (If you choose to start from the old trail and go down t the new trail or vice versa, that is very much possible. I believe that is what a lot of experts do. Yun nga lang 60php reg fee per head na yun.)
We were also offered to buy these local trekking poles for 10php each. Bakit kaya may bayad sa iba naman wala. Oh well. We definitely needed it so we bought 3.
I am no expert but I think choosing Mt. Batulao (considered as 4/9 in difficulty) as our third trekking experience was definitely right. I believe the mountain is very visitor-friendly. heehee I read it right from other blogs that you can opt not to get any tour guide anymore because the trails were easy to follow. (But we still hired one hahaha Kuya’s service for the whole day is at 500php. Personally I still find it safer for beginners like us to always hire one. Kasi syempre mas alam ni kuya yung mountain and at the same time may taga bitbit ng gamit AND pwede umalalay samin at anytime!)
It took us almost 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the summit including our 3-5 minutes rest/water breaks at some pit stops or the “kuya-wait-lang-picture-lang-kami-dito” delays. Heehee There are several pit stops on the way up. They usually sell cup noodles, Turon, cold water, Mountain Dew and fresh Buko. EXPECT a little mark up of course. Example is for the 1 liter mineral water they sell it at 50php or that 12 ounce Mountain Dew which they sell at 30php.
Climbing down was quicker at first not until it rained
. We were no longer new when it comes to trekking while raining because remember our first trek in Mt. Romelo? Heehee Good thing this time the rain wasn’t that strong. The wind were not that scary as well. The only struggle was walking on a bed of mud. Next thing I know the sole of my sandals are now covered with a big chunk of mud. Oo sobrang hirap maglakad just imagine how slippery it can get. But God is good hindi naman matagal yung ulan and hindi naman malakas so we were able to arrive down after 2 and 1/2 hours din.
Let me tell you a secret. I shamefully slipped twice and now i am nursing a mild leg ache. Which is normal after climbing. (Yung body aches ang normal hindi nung nadulas ako che!) But this experience was again super worth it. I don’t care about the heat, the sweat, the grass cuts once we got to the top all you can just say is “wow”. You get to have this perfect view of a 360 degrees sea of mountains.
COST BREAKDOWN THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER:
150php (one way bus)
200php (Round Trip tricycle going to the drop off. Max of 4 heads)
10phph (trekking pole)
30php (reg fee)
50phph (mineral water 1 liter)
500php (optional tour guide)
50-100php (snacks)
5php (Ligo at the drop off point. If you just need to rinse your feet and change clothes they no longer charge you)
25php (bus to Olivarez)
40php (tricycle going to Tagaytay Public market)
40php (jeep to Balibago)
**This trip cost us around 2000php for 3 heads. Food is included**
MORE PHOTOS!
This wonderful creation is a little reminder to us all that we have a great God that blessed us with this kind of places to explore and appreciate.
I CHALLENGE YOU TO MAKE TIME TO TRAVEL AND SEE OUR WORLD DIFFERENTLY.

Staycation ‘16 | One Tagaytay
Let me start this blog post by stating the obvious, my social media friends might probably saw me posting over the weekend. Happy 1st anniversary to my Cuddle bear! Seems like it was just yesterday when I was anxious to let you know that I already feel the same way. heehee
“I’m glad you and Bri worked out” someone once told me. People can sometimes doubt new relationships because of all of those fair share heartaches most people experienced in the past. Things might happened a little faster than expected in our relationship but I love every part of it. As cheesy as it may sound I know I already found a keeper.
We celebrated our little milestone with a nice and simple staycation in Tagaytay over the weekend. Good thing my friend, Donniel offered his Gift Card in One Tagaytay at a cheaper price. Heehee (Thanks, man! Ito na special mention mo! hahaha) Booking turned as an easy breezy task for me because as soon as I got the voucher I called the hotel right away. It was probably 2 weeks before our target date. The receptionist was very accommodating. She asked me to text her the details including the GC number and I send her the photo of my Gift card via email. She then confirmed the reservation. Yey!
We arrived at the hotel just in time for check in. We were asked for a security deposit for 3000php that can be claimed upon check out. Good thing it was reminded on our confirmation text so we were ready and brought extra cash. Our Deluxe room was spacious and perfect for us two. we had a nice view of a luxury village outside.
A few months back Bri and I first went up to Tagaytay for a spontaneous Bulalo cravings. Now that we are back here of course it would still and always be Bulalo. We stumbled upon Erin’s Place in front of Picnic Grove. (30php tricycle ride from our hotel) We got to eat in one of the native huts. We ordered Bulalo, 5 Pork BBQs, 3 cups of rice, 1 half cup of rice and a pitcher of Ice tea all for 615php.
You probably know by now that we are one of those couples who loves coffee dates. Of course we have to find the nearest coffee shop at 11 in the evening. Starbucks Estancia (Twin Lakes) is the nearest one from our hotel. (50php tricycle ride) I’m happy to take Bri there because it was his first time. (Sorry pag taga Sta Rosa ka imposibleng di ka pa nakakatambay dun heehee)
I was excited to wake up the following morning to finally take a dip in the pool! Our complimentary breakfast buffet were being served between 7am to 10am. I dragged my sleepy boyfriend at 7 o’ clock in the morning to eat breakfast and be just in time for the swimming pool area to open at 8am. We arrived at the roof top probably 8:05am and the pool was already crowded. I was a bit dissapointed but still managed to enjoy and swim for an hour or less. How I just wish their pool is bigger tho. Heehee
HOW TO GET THERE:
Option 1: From Buendia take a DLTB Co. bus bound to Nasugbu, Batangas. (Around 140php/head) Asked to be dropped at Olivarez Square. The landmark can be easily recognized because of all the hustle around. it’s a busy area with a lot of establishments and terminals. From there you can ride a tricycle or jeepney to go around Tagaytay.
Option 2: From Buendia take a Jam/Jacliner bus bound to Balibago, Sta Rosa. (61php/head) Asked to be dropped at the public market where there is a jeepney going to Tagaytay. (40php/head) Alight at Tagaytay’s public market. From there you can ride a tricycle or jeepney to go around Tagaytay.
This trip is our first staycation and I personally think couples should do this ones in awhile. Away from all the stress and Manila buzz. Heehee Think about it as you two’s “me time” Sabi nga namin ni bri ang problema lang namin eh san kami kakain next haha
I’ll rate One Tagaytay as 4/5 :)
Erin’s Place as 3/5 :)
Starbucks, Estancia as 4/5 (Just because they are always queueing but it’s understandable that everybody just want Starbucks! haha Update as well from my first blog post about this place, signal is getting better. I was now able to get a weak 3G connection unlike from my last visit heehee
