I remember one game VERY distinctly, and that's TOKYO JUNGLE. Like, humanity's fucked, animals reclaiming future urban landscapes.

And I loved it.

A shame it never became super popular, so we could see more of it. I want my TJ 2 dammit, PLEASE someone revive Crispy's.

Tokyo Jungle mention, instant GotY

In tokyo jungle (either proper or any hypothetical remake or sequel) I think it would have been a really cool feature if you could have used the trains to do a kind of fast travel around the map. Like maybe after year 20 or whatever, the trains start automatically running again and if you catch them it'll take you to whatever stops it makes. Maybe the inside of the train is its own thing (like how it currently is in the game) and you could have to fend off against other passengers.

Perhaps you make the map the entirety of Japan's modern territories, though simplified down to prevent a "Watchdogs 2" level of poor resource management. Keeping staples of Japanese iconography, rice paddies, big cities, modular suburbs, high mountaintops, shrines to deities, I feel like it could go hard.

Overgrown swamp pools that are a dangerous dice roll of predators lurking in the murk or delicious plantlife and a source of needed water? Yyyyes please.

A modern jungle meets old growth supergrove, with roots and branches bursting from buildings, fields made in parking lots, and the natural topography of roads given way to rivers and paths through underbrush? Cooler idea than you thiiink.

Imagine the way a suburban paradise could become a menacing tangle of vines and demolished houses from a long-forgotten catastrophy forming a craggy nesting site for both aerial and arboreal creatures!!! I'm salivating at the idea!!!

Mountains and shrines are already taken by nature, as that is tradition, but I had to include them since they're such a big part of Japan's culture!

A bonus landscapes: A reef of sunken boats and ships around a shipping/fishing town?? The sewers of Tokyo remade as a sort of perverted caverns, with potholes open to allow for escaping shrouds of bats and sunken sections of road for sewer crocodiles to slide between levels of the metropolis through???? I'm getting GIDDY!

Basically, hey guys. Ummm, maybe make a new Tokyo Jungle?
