Steering clear of any headaches to start

When you first bumped into Richard Camacho in a crowded club in Miami, you fell in love. It wasn’t even his status that caught your attention, you had no idea he was in a band or that he was famous. It was his smile, his laughter, his presence as a whole was magnetic to you. It was like God himself created an angel and sent him down to earth just for you. But you weren’t the only one who fell in love at first sight. He fell just as hard if not harder for you. His walls crumbled to the ground for you, almost immediately. In his eyes, you were a goddess, and the fact that you showed interest in him, took him by surprise. Richard took you home that night, desperate for more. You guys spent the night feeding the lust and creating a bubble around the two of you. Choosing to ignore reality, and push away the outside world for as long as possible. But the honeymoon phase had to come to an end, and reality penetrated the little bubble the two of you were living in. Richard went back on tour, promising to call or text every night and you promised to wait for him. But his long hours of practice, promos and touring tired him to the bone and your busy schedule from classes and working with long nights studying chipped away at the relationship. The two of you fought to keep it going for as long as possible, hearts still yearning for one another. However, the yearning turned toxic as you needed someone who was physically there for you and he needed someone who had a more flexible schedule. The heart can be greedy, wanting something it can’t have completely disregarding the consequences. So when you and Richard called it quits the two of you promised to remain as friends with benefits, completely not committed to each other and only to speak to the other when you need help getting off.

 Things became complicated when fans caught you and Richard out at a club in Miami leaving together more than once. The two of you kept accidentally bumping into each other, you always dressed up in the tiniest of dresses looking for a candidate. And as if fate wanted its way, he would always find you on the dancefloor and make his move. But as magazines and tabloids caught whiff of the story you went from being a nobody, with a couple of hundred followers on Instagram too now millions of people looking through your posts and trying to figure out what Richard saw in you. Some fans voiced their opinion about you, either to Richard or you. The comments and opinions were not always nice and almost always ended on why the person writing the message was way better for him than you. The words of strangers hurt, you couldn’t see what you have ever done to any of these people just for them to run their mouth. You ended up making all of your social media private and ended up seeing Richard a lot less often. You thought if you could just lay low for a while, the comments and media would cool down. Richard, on the other hand, took offense to your actions. Turning him down once was fine, he just figured you weren’t in the mood. But when you never contacted him again, and weeks went by he thought something was up. So he hit you up again, asking to come over. You complied, and the two of you spent the night between the sheets. He was needier than usual, gripping you so tight it almost seemed he was afraid to let you go.

 When you guys both finished Richard laid down next to you, wrapping his arms around you. It made your heart flutter, but you couldn’t take the hate this would bring. You liked your private little life. The simplicity of walking in public unbothered. You loved being a nobody. The freedom fame robs from a  person was something you couldn’t handle. Both of your lives were too different for this relationship to go any further. As much as he made you feel good, and have you seeing the stars you couldn’t help but feel guilty. The guilt of knowing the consequences of your actions. The guilt of knowing how the public felt about you. The guilt of not telling him how you felt.

“What are you doing?” you blurted out as you moved away from him

“Somethin’ wrong shawty?” he asked completely confused

 Your response started an argument. How you truly felt tucked away behind boarded up walls. He let go of you and huffed. 

“I don’t understand you, ya know that right?” 

His facial expression changed, his once softened look towards you turned stone cold.

“Richard don’t you get were too different?” You tried to reason with him, tried to make him see that this relationship wouldn’t lead to anything “Isn’t it better just to quit now? I mean think about it, what the fuck are we doing here? This is never going to turn into anything further than what it is” 

Richard angrily grabbed his things mumbling under his breath.

“You know what? Fine, do what you always do. Leave”

He harshly slammed the door on his way out, making the bones of the house shake. And you, standing there, wrapped in your bed sheet, filling with regret.
