oh how i wish that tumblr wouldn't recommend people who i know hate me on MY OWN BLOG :)))

the only thing i'm going to miss about twitter is how easy it was to connect with people who aren't english speakers. it was so much easier to find people from my country and befriend them compared to tumblr and anywhere else honestly. with how english centric internet really is that was a real fun way to share your craft with the world, while also having people around who just understand you and your issues based on that shared language. before that i had to stay in our own country specific social media where i just had to accept that some times i will encounter the ugly side of this place and that my craft will be seen by a very specific audience of that social media.

if twitter falls, going back to that would be the only option for many people like me to take and most wouldn't take it now considering who owns that platform now. unless people move to tumblr en masse we would never have the same "truly connected to the whole world" thing anymore. and while english speakers won't notice any changes, people from other places and people who don't speak english will. it'll be much harder to connect to your people on the net i feel like. yes twitter sucked, sucks and will continue to suck, but it did do what it said on the tin. "connect people".
