HC that Hunter sometimes has a hard time reading another person's tone of voice, so he can't really tell if their joking or not (I'm totally NOT speaking from experience. What you talking about)

It is especially bad when he's texting someone. He can't ever tell if they're joking or being serious.

He has to consistently ask if they're being serious or go, "Wait? Did you mean that or were you just joking?"

It doesn't help that there is a group of witches in Hexside who like to say a lot of things that are really awful to him to see how he’d react and will say that they did mean it if Hunter asks because they think that his confusion turning to horror or sadness is funny to see. (If you were to ask them why they do it, they would say that “It’s just funny considering who he used to be(*ahem* Golden Guard)”)

It kind of hurts and upsets Hunter whenever it happens which in turn pisses a certain Blight boy off that someone is intentionally upsetting his blondie because they think it's funny even though Hunter has been through enough pain, but Hunter usually tells him that it’s fine and that he doesn't need to get involve.

That is until a guy from that group took it way too far and told Hunter that they think that it was a good thing that his palisman left because now it doesn't have to worry about if Hunter is going to cause it to be in a dangerous situation that can get them killed which really upset and hurt Hunter to the point where he started having a panic attack while all of his thoughts were pounding it in his head that it was his fault that Flapjack was dead. It took Luz and Gus to calm him down while Willow is holding Edric back from beating the crap out of the guy for what they said (screw using magic when you can personally use your own two hands) since he was there when they said it to Hunter.

what if belos makes another grimwalker?

Hunter is in the very back, with Gus and Luz more to the front, and everyone else is somewhere in the middle.  Luz is holding glyphs out, the top of her face obscured by the panel. She says, “End of the line, Belos. There’s nothing else you can do.” Clouds float by in the background. In the second panel, everyone is posed the same way, except it’s zoomed in on Hunter this time. He has a shocked/confused expression on his face. He whispers, “is that..?” Meanwhile, an (again) unseen Belos says, “ Oh Luz, you really are a fool. You didn’t think I would have anything else up my sleeve? Why do you think I sent Hunter on all those supply missions?”  The third panel is a close up shot of Hunter’s eyes, which are brown. He looks shocked and confused. The text around him says, “The Selkidomus scales.... Those Galdorstones...” Belos continues talking, as the dialouge in the bottom says, “I’m surprised you haven’t figured it out yet. Especially after he betrayed me.” End of Page One.

In the first panel on the second page, a masked golden guard can be seen stepping out of the dark, hand on his mask. A partially obscured Belos in his monster form lurks in the background, head obscured. His hands are on both side of the golden guard, almost like he’s presenting him. Belos continues to speak, as the text on the left reads, “What a shame, really.” The right side reads, “... But, Oh well. I can always do it again.”

The second panel on the second page is a closeup shot of the new golden guard’s eyes, which are the magenta/pink colour hunter used to have. This grimwalker looks ahead, eyebrows furrowed. He has a birthmark on his left cheek and a light scar across his nose, similar to Phillip’s in Elsewhere and Elsewhen. The text below it reads, with Belos still speaking, “... Do tell me though, Hunter.” With a crossed out/ glitched “Caleb” before the word Hunter.

In the last panel on the second page, the new golden guard can be seen from the waist up, wearing Hunter’s old golden guard uniform. He holds Hunter’s old staff, looking ahead determinedly. Belos’ hand rests on his right shoulder, with a looming Belos over his left shoulder in the background. Belos’ head is obscured except for his mouth, which appears to be an almost smile. He says in the text below the panel, “How does it feel to be replaced?” End ID.]

In the au where Hunter is raised by Eda, when they all get trapped in the human realm, do you think Hunter would be one of the few from the Hexsquad that would be okay heading out on his own to pick up items or look for information since he be familiar with the town from the times he's been there? Would people recognize him?

I think that he would be okay with heading out, but I don't think anyone would recognize him since he would try to stay out of sight as much as he can while he's in the human realm. I also think that when Hunter is in the human realm, he would stay close to the portal just in case he’d need to make a quick escape to the demon realm so Luz would still know a lot more about the human realm and where they should start when looking for information than he would.

I also like to think that he’d keep Flapjack close since he’d be used to Owlbert going with him when he’s in the human realm and he wouldn’t want anything to happen to him.

especially considering hunter's arc being strongly tied to his identity and him wanting to be free to choose his own destiny (rather than having it forced onto him and being made to be someone he isn't), even in the narrative sense it just works as a great trans metaphor; so it's no wonder trans headcanons are so popular for him.

when it comes to my personal headcanon, i don't have like The One, i just vibe with whatever i see, but the way i see hunter's gender in canon is that his gender is just... hunter. yeah?

like, i see him thinking of himself as a boy because that's what he's used to and him "being" a "boy" is the only point of reference he has to how being a boy should feel like. he just thinks every boy perceives their gender the same way he does so he doesn't think abt it much further. he just... vibes. you know? him basically just referring to himself as "boy" and using he/him pronouns but also not caring much at the end of the day; being open to all the other pronouns and gender expressions, etc. etc.

he's a boy the same way a dog or a bird can be a boy, or a guitar. he's like a shrimp seeing all the colors invisible to the human eye but with gender, to me.

Headcanon:

Odalia made Amity wear a concealment stone to cover her abuse scars because they represented Amity’s failures which were unbecoming of a Blight.

Belos refused to let Hunter wear a concealment stone because he wanted folks to see what would happen if you crossed him.

Both Odalia and Belos felt Amity and Hunter deserved every punishment they got. However, the evidence of those punishments that manifested physically was used psychologically against Amity and Hunter in very different ways but ultimately ensured that both remained compliant.
