Prepared for Anything
Part 2, MasterPost
Danny stared at the ceiling, bored, as the creepy clown laughed manically at a camera. Danny hadn’t been in this dimension for two minutes, (he’d portalled directly into Joker’s hideout) before he was promptly tied to a chair. He could get out of it easily.
Thing was, there were others here, restrained more thoroughly than Danny. They wore colourful, armoured suits and were obviously the vigilantes/heroes of this. . .place—Gotham? Danny’d heard the name mentioned a few times now—This Freakshow wannabe was obviously one of their villains.
Danny had been hoping someone would show up without having to draw attention to himself. What was this dimension’s stance on halfas? Or ghosts?
But no one had come yet, it had been an hour, and he was getting stiff from sitting here so long without being able to move his limbs.
Danny heaved a loud, exasperated sigh-groan at the ceiling. The guy, face-painted like a toddler who’d gotten into their parent’s make-up, suddenly stopped monologuing.
Good. It was getting annoying.
“Are you done yet?” Danny complained much like the impatient teenager he was. “I’ve got crap to do, wrap it up, would you?”
Danny came here to explore. He was not exploring. He should be exploring and it was all this dude’s fault.
Danny supposed he could go all ghost on him and bounce, but he came all this way. It wasn’t much of hassle, but still. Danny was stubborn. He knew this.
The warehouse was silent. The creepo wasn’t talking, anymore, he wasn’t doing anything, and Danny deigned to lift his head from where it’d been thrown back on the chair.
The costumed people were looking at him in horror.
Danny wasn’t sure why.
The walking fashion disaster began to cackle with condescending amusement.
Yeah, okay, whatever.
Danny ignored the man’s delve into something about Danny’s impending doom, or threatening him with pain, and something, something, something. Something about broken this, burning that, yada, yada yada, when Danny got an idea.
Behind the chair where his hands were bound, knowing no one was behind him, he quietly broke the ropes on his wrists. The vigilantes—a red one with bandoliers crossing over his chest and one who wore a largely grey and black suit with an R emblem on the left side of his chest—were valiantly trying to dissuade the psycho to leave Danny alone, who now realized the said psycho was coming towards him, carrying a crowbar.
How original.
The Joker, as Danny heard someone call him at some point, he’s not sure when, leaned in close. His breath stank.
Danny made a disgusted face. “Do you not brush your teeth at all? Gross, dude.”
“You won’t be mak—“
Danny punched him in the jaw. The guy went down pretty easily.
Danny made an annoyed noise as he bent down to untie his ankles from the chair legs. He muttered to himself. “Stupid villains, always gotta get in the way, why can’t I just have one nice vacation, huh?”
“How did you do that?”
Danny looked up at the red one. “Do what?” He asked, standing and stretching with satisfying pops.
“Get free.”
“Oh. . .” Danny reached into his hoodie sleeve and pulled out a small hand saw. He guessed he coulda used a knife, but it was the first thing he'd thought of.
The guy spluttered. “You just keep a saw in your sleeve?”
“Yep.” Danny popped the P. No need for them to know he can make portals. As tiny as needed. “You guys want help out of those, or what?” Danny gestured to the chains keeping the two bound on the floor.
“No, Joker’s goons outside probably has the keys, we have back-up. . . .coming. . . .where did you get that?”
Danny didn’t miss a beat as he crouched to get a grip on the chain with the large pair of bolt cutters. “Ah, ya know, never leave home without a good pair of bolt cutters.” He offered. The room they were in was pretty bare, saying he found it “lying around” wouldn’t work. It’d be pretty obvious.
“That is absurd.” The younger one said. “Where did they come from?”
Danny snapped the red one free and moved onto the angry eyebrows one. How did they still emote so well through those masks? “Just had it on hand.”
“But wh—“
“Oh look! There ya go! I gotta go, nice being held hostage with y'all.” Danny ignored their calls for him, climbing out of the nearest window and disappearing.

The Teacher
Welcome to Day 5 of Blacktober!
Part 2: Parent Get Together
Various streamers littered the ceiling of the classroom as staff members set up small tables around the room and followed them with tablecloths.
Teachers busied themselves with the festivities, Y/n even played her part putting lemonade in the iced cups. It was going to be a little warm today and the best way to keep cool was some ice cold lemonade.
“Y/n can you bring those drinks over to this table?” Another staff member calls.
“Coming!” Y/n says and picks up the tray of drinks, bringing them over to the table that sat in the middle of the room. The drink tray sat next to the small snack trays.
Y/n looked at the clock above the door and saw the time was 12:54PM. Less than 6 minutes before they started, Y/n hurriedly walked out of the classroom and into the one next door to find the eight toddlers playing with toys. They were all dressed as their favorite animal.
“Okay everyone, one, two, three, eyes on me!” Clapping her hands, Y/n crouched down to the children’s level as all eight boys and girls came running up to her.
Megumi is in the front row, wearing a dog costume with the a hoodie and a grin on his face and Y/n smiles at him and the other children behind him.
“In just a few minutes we’re going to go and meet everyone’s mom and dad, now I just need you to be on your best behavior and have fun!”
The children all cheer and go back to playing. Y/n chuckles and stands back up. She turns her head to see some of the parents already begin to start crowding around in the hallway.
Making her way to the front of the crowd, Y/n gives them a large smile and folds her hands together.
“Hello parents! Thank you all for coming out today, our little ones are more than happy to show off what they have been working for the last couple of months! So, if you would all come inside and take a seat, the little ones will be in soon.” Y/n guides the parents in bowing in greeting to each one that passed by her.
Once the parents were settled, Y/n collects the children and they all come in a line into the classroom. Y/n watches as all the children rush off in different directions to hug their parents but notices one toddler walk to the window, using his tiptoes to look outside.
Y/n placed a hand on her cheek and sighed sadly. She hated seeing children so sad and it made it even more painful to watch when it came to the first event of the party.
Each child would bring their mom or dad a cup of lemonade on a tray as a way of showing how independent they can be.
As the event went on, Megumi had sat in the corner, away from everyone with his head tucked in his knees. Y/n walked over to Megumi and crouched in front of him, a smile on her lips.
“Megumi, do you want a snack?” She asked. He shook his head and pressed his head further into his knees. Frowning sadly, Y/n caresses his black hair and decides to sit by him.
Looking on, Y/n watches as the other toddlers were happily interacting with their families, some being encouraged to carefully bring the cup of lemonade to them while others praised their little one on a job well done.
Her eyes then find the doorway when a new figure enters the classroom, a smile blossoming onto her lips as she pats Megumi on his shoulder.
“Megumi, look who’s here.” She says excitedly.
Megumi peeked an eye out from his knees and almost jumped into the air at who he saw.
“Dad!” He squeals as he bounds over to him.
Toji stood at the doorway, awkwardly looking around the small area until they finally landed on Y/n and then to his son, who was already running as fast as his little legs would allow him, towards him. Toji gets down on a bent knee and catches his son in his arms.
Y/n gets up as well and walks over to Toji. She bows in greeting to him and invites him inside the classroom.
“I’m so happy that you came, Megumi here was worried you wouldn’t be able to come.” Y/n says pleased. Toji smirks awkwardly and uses his free hand to rub his neck.
“I ran into traffic on the way.” He says.
“Dad, look!” Megumi squirms out of his father’s arms and rushes over to the table with the tray of lemonade cups.
Y/n brings Toji over to sit in an open space on the floor and sits next to him. Carefully balancing the tray, Megumi takes precise steps towards his father.
Toji claps in amazement at his son and encourages him as he comes closer to him. Once Megumi presented the tray to his father, Toji takes it and pats his son on the head, praising him.
Megumi is all smiles for the rest of the time, going off to play with his friend Yuji and Nobara leaving Toji and Y/n to themselves.
“I’m glad that you were able to come.” Y/n speaks with him in a quieter tone and Toji smiles at his son playing.
“Me too. I’m glad he’s happy.” Toji says.
“So,” he turns to Y/n who hums in response.
“There’s this new yakisoba place that opened up…would you like to go? With me?” Toji asks. Y/n smiles in his direction and raises a brow.
“As friends?”
“As friends.” Toji grins and Y/n giggles.
“I would love to.”

I feel like there should be the equivalent to Disneyland and/or Universal in Midgard so with that in mind... what would ags+zc do in such a place?
The thought of "Shinraland" is terrifying albeit not out of character.
Sephiroth: Completely dissociating. The place reeks of corporate propaganda, and the flashing Shinra logo everywhere is making him question reality. Mako Madness coaster? Dissociating. The haunted house? Dissociating. Bumper cars? Dissociating. He's barely tolerating it. And then Angeal hands him a chocobo chocolate ice cream. He's still dissociating, but at least now he has a treat.
Zack: He's hyped beyond reason, determined to hit every attraction, from Shinra's "SOLDIER Spiral" rollercoaster to the "Cosmo Canyon Drop." Cloud's his designated ride buddy, and his victim. He drags him through each twist, spin, and plunge until the man is greener than mako. His groaning gets louder with every round and by the end, Cloud's one ride away from puking all over Zack.
Cloud: Revenge is inevitable. Cloud shoves him into a themed costume booth and takes the ultimate blackmail photo. It's unspeakable.
Genesis: Mr. "this place is for children" is cloaked in a dark hoodie, sunglasses and muttering complaints under his breath, until he comes across the theater and sees that Loveless: The Shinraland Experience is running. The last time anyone saw Genesis he was arguing with someone from the crew about inaccurate costumes.
Angeal: At one point he gave up trying to wrangle them all together and bought three balloons to tie to their wrists so he doesn't lose them. One for Genesis, one for Sephiroth, and one for Cloud. Zack gets a toddler leash backpack because they already lost him three times.

pretty you
☆ cw. None, not beta read (have fun reading my grammar mistakes😘)
☆ genre: Fluff fluff and more fluff
☆ pairings: non-idol! Ni-Ki × fem! reader
☆ synopsis: Ni-Ki and you causing havoc in some random fitting room tbh
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
"But Ki why do I need new clothes when I could just take yours?" you sulk as you're dragged through the mall parking lot
"Because I like my hoodies I would actually like to wear them please and thank you" he speaks in a way you already know without looking is mocking
"But don't you like when I wear your hoodies?" You continue insisting
Parents passing by probably thinking how well behaved their children are compared to you sulky toddler
He coos at your antics, snaking a hand around your waist, kissing your temple before whispering softly in your ear
"Of course I do, Angel, but you always steal them all" He almost giggles seeing your obviously annoyed stare
Reaching the entrance, he holds the door for you before following right behind you inside, returning his hand to hold yours
Still noticing you weren't exactly convinced, he turned you to face him, ducking down to your level a little
"How about this? If you try on some clothes, I promise I'll buy you ice cream right after? Does that sound alright, princess?" He speaks softly, knowing your weak spot
Seriously considering it, you weigh out your options carefully, making him scoff lovingly
Rolling your eyes, you uncross your arms in defeat, muttering a quiet "fine" before taking his hand once more, making him giggle
"Oh my gosh! Come here for sec, angel, this would look so good on you" he spoke with a little bounce, pointing to a pair of flared shorts, painted with little daisies embroidered into the fabric. Biting his lip in anticipation, he watched your reaction intently
You couldn't hide your smile at his excitement, following your eyes to where he pointed, only to be stunned by his excellent taste
Honestly, you were fully expecting him to be pointing at a hot dog costume or something, pleasantly surprised he didn't take his opening to crack one of his famous jokes
Seeing him grab your size, adding it his pile of clothes very obviously not for him, your heart melts. Suddenly feeling bad for your lack of appreciation, you do some exploring of your own
Scrolling through the racks upon racks of clothing, you realize going out wasn't as bad as you initially thought it would be, mentally noting to thank him for taking you
You practically squeal when your eyes catch a pair of couples hoodies. He would happy to know you wouldn't steal this one (you still would)
Taking it in your arms, you continue eyeing the racks, spotting a pair of sweats, remembering him mentioning his need for new ones
Before you knew it, you no longer had the capacity to grab another article of clothing, your hands desperately clinging onto the pile of items you picked out. Wobbling a little, you search the aisles to find the boy, immediately spotting him due to his height
Picking up the pace a little, you jog like an excited puppy to the Japanese boy, anticipating his reaction to your picks. Approaching closer, he spots you, just about to say something before you trip over yourself, expecting your fall to be broken by the ridiculously high pile of clothes but instead you feel a pair of hands on your waist
"Not so fast, angel what's the rush" he teases before helping you up, taking a majority of the clothes from your hands
"And what happened to not being interested? Are you saying I didn't need to bribe you with ice cream after all?" He says through a smile, admiring the blush that creeps upon your cheeks
"J-just try on the clothes, nishimura" you speak while looking straight at your feet, almost like a child after being scolded
A finger hooks under your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze as he leans down to your level a little, man he really loves making you feel short
"Eyes up here, darling. There's no need to be embarrassed" He smiles
"And make me go alone, come on" he bits lip expectantly, taking your hand in his, guiding you to the fitting room
Setting down your picks, he hands you his only after whispering softly
"Try these on for me beautiful. Call me in when you're ready" kissing your temple, he closes the curtain behind you, giving you privacy before settling himself on a chair just outside the fitting room
Shaking off the stupid grin on your face, you opt for trying on his first pick, slipping it on while eyeing yourself in the mirror. You had to admit, it hugged you perfectly.
Opening the curtain, his eyes meet yours before they pan down to your figure, biting his lip a little
"Can you do a little twirl for me, angel?" He says softly, giving you his full, undivided attention. Following his request, you can't help but giggle a little
"As expected" He finally speaks
"You look stunning" He breathes out, meeting your gaze with pure adoration. You blush a little, striking a pose jokingly
He giggles at your antics
"Okay babe strut strut" He cheers your on, getting up from his seat before kneeling down, leaning back with his hands imitating a camera
"There there there! Perfect perfect and pose! and pose! and pose!" He jokes, making you both fall into a fit of laughter
Sensing the judging pairs of eyes on you two, you pull him into the fitting room before he could notice, not wanting to ruin the moment for him
He's doesn't seem to mind, urging you to try on a particular pair of sweats. Grabbing it, you noticed a size bigger under it, realizing he too thought alike with couples clothes
"Ki, ki, try on that hoodie over there, it's also matching" you say excitedly, realizing you two could have couple outfits vomit inducing I know
"You're too cute, princess" he whispers before pecking your cheek, immediately taking off his existing shirt to put on the hoodie. Handing you yours, he urges you to try it on, gasping dramatically when you do
"We look so cute! Like two peas in a pod" he says rubbing himself on you jokingly, making you mock him back with a fake gag
"Wait, I have to to" he says before reaching into his back pocket, pulling out his phone, pulling you closer ever so gently by the waist to pose in front of the mirror
Snaking his hand around your waist, he kisses your cheek *click*
Burying his face in the crook of your neck, you both giggle softly *click*
Bending down, he gently tugs at your hoodie arm, urging you to do the same. Striking a V pose, you mirror him *click*
You couldn't help but break into a fit of laughter at his dedication, falling back on your butt from kneeling down *click*
Before helping you up, he quickly adjusts the settings on his phone, using the opportunity to take a .5 pic of you, making you gasp
"You little-" Thinking you were reaching out to cover the camera, he was flabbergasted to say the least when you pulled him down so he fell right on top of you, making your stomach hurt from laughing too much. Rolling his eyes, he tries to hold his own laughter in, eventually failing when he hears yours
The workers were probably scoffing at you two acting like a bunch of five year olds
Were you possibly banned from this store now? Yes
Did you care? Not at all
That was a problem for future you. As of now, all you care for is the beautiful boy before your eyes, making you unimaginably happy beyond your wildest dreams

Here are some sanderssides outfit headcanons because I’m gay :
Remus : Definetly had a pair of the Brendan Urie are you nasty booty shorts at some point in time. When alone this bitch either dresses like a emo slut, a toddler who decided to dress themselves for the day, a punk anarchist, or Adam Sandler, there is no in between. Janus has to convince him to put on pants when guests come over. “Who says I can’t wear converses with my dress.” Janus has to stop him from spontaneously cutting his hair or giving himself piercings so has a BUNCH of fake ones. Spends 10 minutes taking off all of his accessories. Puts in funky contacts to be edgy. Never throws old clothes out and thinks it looks punk despite there being very obviously not intentional large holes in them. Either extremely over or under dressed, If there’s a dress code, it’s ignored. Constantly wearing platforms. Definitely has tried to give himself a scar on his face because he thought it would look kickass, he no longer has access to knives. Randomly does sfx makeup to freak people the fuck out.
Janus : So much vintage wear. Definetly has a pin striped suit somewhere in his closet, dosent wear it because Virgil calls him the cat from Tom n jerry. Definetly has tea parties in renissance era dresses. Probably has one of those dramatic 60s newly widowed housewife robes that he wears while lounging with a glass of wine. Probably wore one of those androgynous suit dresses to Thomas’s prom, Roman was pissed because he looked better than him. Extremely overdressed, would wear red to a funeral. So many fucking hats, need I say more. Beauty is pain, there is no functionality, he can’t walk in half his outfits. Wears a lot of layers but actually has the excuse of being cold blooded.
Virgil : Oh so many bracelets, who gave him access to so many bracelets. Spends a solid 2 hours teasing his hair and putting makeup on every morning (this bitch is a GOD at eyeliner.) So many layers, you do not need to be wearing 3 hoodies at once. Somehow always cold despite having enough clothes on to survive in the artic. “Oh fuck one of my bracelets fell off.” Acts like he despises pink despite wearing neon pink raccoon tails during his college scene phase. Extremely underdressed unless he has the energy to dress as a Victorian vampire. Definitely experiments with goth makeup and clothing.
Patton : Its giving youth pastor. Owns every color of polo shirt. Wears aviators to look ‘hip’ and ends up looking like goose from top gun. Definetly has a leather jacket somewhere in his closet that he only wore to college parties to look cool (the obligatory dad mid life crisis leather jacket, probably worn and probably has seen some shit.) Constantly wears a tool belt or a Fanny pack, lord get this man a backpack. Had horrendous emo phase, good lord MySpace traumatized him. Definitely has a jersey and varsity jacket but actually IS into sports. Needs to get outfit tips because he will wear a polo shirt and cargo pants to every occasion. So many dad hats.
Roman : wears jerseys and varsity jackets despite not being into sports at all. Loves makeup but goes horribly every time he tries to do it on himself. Has to be held down to do eyeliner or mascara because he will NOT stop moving and complaining about you poking his eyes out. Loves being overdressed however half his wardrobe is costume pieces he pretends are high end items. So many rings and necklaces. “Buy me Prada” *is wearing thrift store jeans* Takes hours getting ready, getting dressed takes 10 minutes but he has to get his mindfulness meditation for the day in before he leaves. Definitely has a purse collection.
Logan : This dude probably has so much vintage clothing and historical pieces but is absolutely terrified to wear any of it and wrinkle anything. Has a tie collection (extremely obvious) however half of them are funky ties Patton spotted while shopping and gave to him. Has hundreds of the same shirt but tons of blazers and vests to spice things up a bit. Definitely has a collection of very high end leather shoes that he takes care of dearly and gets heavily pissed off if someone steps on them. So many cheesy nerd pun t-shirts that he wears exclusively in his room because Patton would freak the fuck out. Is tired of people calling him Steve Urkel or a newsie when he puts on suspenders. Practicality over looks, however makes a few exceptions (This bitch would look amazing in a corset.) Can run in heels and Roman is extremely jealous and terrified. Can do makeup surpisingly well.

boyfriend headcannons - kim jungsu
Tumblr media
☆彡 letting the delusions win once again so Jungsu stans come get y’all juice!!!!!
word count: 713 | pronouns used: none | genre: fluff, established relationship | cws: all caps used, he’s blushing, I’m blushing, we’re all blushing, let me know if I missed anything!! 🩷
← previous member | next member →
starting off by saying that in my head Jungsu is the most Boyfriend™️ member of xh and nobody can change my mind!!!!!!!!
he’s also the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen??? okay moving on
he strikes me as a romantic!!!
not like, Seungmin type of romantic though (although there can be some overlap)
he’s the type of romantic that knows your coffee order by heart
watches “chick flicks” with you over and over again
always puts your needs before his
willing to drop everything for you
gives you his hoodie the second he sees you shiver
does absolutely nothing without asking if you’re okay/ comfortable with it!!!!
that type of romantic
“that’s literally the bare minimum-“ SHUT UP it's the little things that count
anyways moving on
I know I’ve mentioned this before in a fic somewhere but Jungsu is so so so SO respectful and he just wants to make sure everyone is happy and safe so I can see him wanting to have a long, in-depth conversation with you about boundaries
you’re both in this relationship because you love and care for one another, and he’s not gonna let you forget it!!
he is so madly in love with you it physically hurts him
like,,,, YOU chose HIM???? he can’t wrap his mind around it
he knew you were “the one” shortly into your relationship
hype man
imagine him wrapping his arms around you while you’re looking at your outfit and he just makes eye contact with you in the mirror and hits you with the “you look so pretty today baby” and then gives you a little kiss wherever he can reach UGHHHHHH THIS MAN
MATCHING OUTFITS MATCHING OUTFITS
“Oh you’re wearing blue today? Okay good to know.” and then he immediately goes and changes
I can picture Jungsu as the type who finds it really hard to sleep without you
like,, he needs a cuddle buddy
but in public?
people would never guess that
I talked about this in my PDA fic, but I don’t think Jungsu is big into PDA
like, aww you’re holding hands? that’s enough 🧍🏻‍♀️
he gives me the vibe that he doesn’t like seeing other people’s PDA so he doesn’t do it either LMAOOO (me too)
okay I talked about this with Gunil so I feel the need to bring it up again
your family loves him
if you have siblings or cousins who are younger than you?? they ADORE HIM
Jungsu gives me lovely big brother energy and in my head I think he’s be great with kids (ignore those Rock The World episodes lol)
give this man a toddler I need to see it
imagine coming home to Jungsu and your kid and Jungsu is dressed up in some silly costume, too wrapped up in the child’s land of make-believe to realize you walked in the door
he’s just so sweet :(
okay okay okay so if you couldn’t tell by the fact that I think I’ve mentioned them in every single Jungsu fic I’ve written… I love Jungsu’s broad shoulders
Jungsu is just so big and strong and I’m swooning right now
he’s so tall and pretty and UGH what if I cry
you can’t reach something?
he’s picking you up
you’re feet hurt?
piggyback ride
he’s giving you the Princess Treatment™️ truly
I also feel like Jungsu gives the best hugs in xh
those arms of his 😵‍💫 hugging machines
the feeling of being wrapped up in his strong arms and broad shoulders oh my god
safety
he’s like if a fuzzy blanket was a guy
he’s just so awesome I love Jungsu dude
I can also imagine having some good late night talks with Jungsu
telling secrets and sharing stories
he’s not afraid to be emotional in front of you!
within the first month of your relationship you saw him cry and tbh he’s so real for that
he can put up the front that he’s all tough or whatever but that facade cracks with you around
he’s just so blushy and giggley with you!
Jungsu totally believes that you bring out the best in him, and he’s so glad to be with you
he commonly fantasizes about his future with you
he’s so excited to spend forever with you :(((

I would love to see a cute fluffy Halloween with reader and Noah. Go to the pumpkin patch, freeze together and keep each other warm, come home, carve pumpkins.. all of it 🥰
Hi!! Thank you for requesting <3
I had so much fun writing this. It's so cute :')
Halloween time
"I can't believe you talked me into this." Noah said as I styled his hair.
"Hush. You love me." I said, focusing intently on my work.
The pumpkin patch down the road was hosting their annual costume patch fest. Every year, they have people come down in their halloween costumes and walk around the pumpkin patch, along with the corn maze and hay ride. They have a petting zoo, hot chocolate, and the night ends with a costume contest.
I was currently spraying Noah's hair silver to top off our costumes as Danny Phantom and Sam, and as much as he's been complaining I know he's loving it. I perfectly spiked his short locs and sprayed them with the hair paint along with hairspray to ensure they stayed in place as long as we need them to. His hand kept sliding around to my ass, to which I kept smacking away so I didn't mess his hair up. After the tenth smack he decided to just pout and let me do whatever I needed to do.
"Ok!" I said, clapping and hopping off the counter I was sitting on so that I could properly reach his head. "My work here is done."
He looked at himself in the mirror and his mouth turned down with a head nod, signaling he did in fact enjoy this more than he admitted to.
"Not bad." He said, turning his head side to side.
"Good, let's get going. I don't want to miss the petting zoo." I said, grabbing his hand and dragging him behind me.
He followed my steps down the stairs and I grabbed my necessities before we headed out the door and to his car. It was a short drive to the pumpkin patch, and before I knew it I was petting a miniature cow in complete heaven. Noah laughed as he snapped pictures of me in my own little world, perfectly content if I was to stay with that cow all night.
He decided it was a beautiful idea to go into the corn maze and leave me alone, though. I spent the better part of 10 minutes trying to find him, giggling as I yelled "DANNY!" instead of Noah just to make his little game more fun. By the time I found him, he was a pile of laughter and my teeth were chattering as it got colder with the sun going down.
Costume is real cute, but not suitable for the cold.
We got hot chocolate before making our way around the pumpkin patch to figure out what pumpkins we would carve later. Noah decided on one that's incredibly too big but insisted it was perfect, and I decided on the actual perfect size for carving. He kept wrapping his arms around me and giving me kisses to try and warm me up as my body shook against him. Anytime he hugs me, it's like a warm blanket wrapping around me that provides me with instant comfort.
We made our way back to our house and I quickly started making some coffee to warm up while Noah cleaned the pumpkins off and set up our carving area outside. We made sure to take plenty of pictures before I decided to throw on one of his hoodies and a pair of sweatpants. His hoodies always hang almost to my knees, making me look like a toddler but I will never stop stealing them.
Noah already decided on trying to carve an Attack On Titan pumpkin, which I have no clue how he plans on doing, and I was carving the cheshire cat. I sat between his legs as we carved them. I insisted that it was going to make him carving his impossible, but he proved me wrong with his slenderman arms. At some point, he gave up on his idea and just started freestyling a design. I finished mine and held it up, showing off my masterpiece but was met with silence.
I furrowed my brows and turned to look at him before I burst into laughter, instantly pulling my phone out to take a picture of him.
"What? You don't like it?" He questioned.
This man had just carved an entire open space of his pumpkin along with a hole in the bottom and had it on his head. The space framed his face so that all you could see was the center of his face, nothing else.
Laughter shook my body as I looked at him. He finally burst into his own laughter as the pumpkin slid down, effectively covering his eyes so he could no longer see. I pulled the pumpkin up on his head so I could see his eyes again, shaking my head at him.
"You're such a doof." I said through my laughter.
He grinned at me, smile sending butterflies into the pit of my stomach. "You love this doof."
I shook my head and leaned in kiss him, laughing against his lips.
"Forever and always."

Zodiac signs, but as things I've done
Most of these happened when I was young (and dumb) and some things just remind me of the signs
ARIES: getting into a screaming match with a dude way taller and way heavier than I was. I would 100% lose if we got into a physical fight but I would still throw a punch.
TAURUS: being known among family members as the toddler who often said "this is mine" about everything that was mine.
GEMINI: scoring straight A's on two national exams despite being known at schools as the problematic student who was always absent.
CANCER: not changing or returning flawed objects I got because they were fated to be mine and I felt like a shitty person for wanting to reject them.
LEO: having a picture of me on stage gone viral online, also being praised and hated for it.
VIRGO: checking google maps street view version for the 7th time and memorizing what the road looked like so I could drive there the next day. I checked it again the next morning.
LIBRA: twirling on stage in a fairy costume every time the MC told me to twirl to the point that it made me dizzy because I couldn't say no.
SCORPIO: my friend took a picture of me sitting in the corner hiding myself in a hoodie, I looked like a black sweater thing with no face, arms or legs.
SAGITTARIUS: telling a friend how to pronounce a word in his native language despite him knowing how to do it and correcting me every time because I, in fact, did not speak that language.
CAPRICORN: saving myself from choking by doing the Heimlich maneuver on myself when I was 9, inside a moving car, without asking for help from my parents in the front seats because I didnt want to create a scene.
AQUARIUS: Concocting a 'witchy' potion in a forest clearing alone when I was a child. I used tadpoles water from an old well and dead leaves.
PISCES: Carrying rat? babies I found (the pink ones with no fur) on my palm everywhere I went because they were cute and I thought I was saving them.

Stranger Danger
Word count: 820
Rating: Gen
Pairings: none
Warnings: childhood anxiety disorder
~~~START~~~
Patton loved moments like these. Thomas was six months old, being held in his mother’s arms, safe and warm. There was some sort of party going on, but all Thomas — and by extension, Patton — cared about was that his mom was holding him, and they were outside on a beautiful not-yet-cold October night (maybe it didn’t ever get cold in Florida! Patton didn’t know).
Thomas was six months old, but Patton himself was a little older, a little bit more mature — as an embodiment of Thomas’s emotions — than say Logic, who was a baby himself. Patton was a toddler, maybe about three (Patton didn’t know), but he could walk and talk and in general knew what made Thomas happy. Patton slept on a big-boy bed with cat and dog print sheets and a big patchwork quilt, while Logic, Creativity, and Self-Preservation all slept in cribs labeled with their names.
Patton wore a pair of overalls covered in embroidered flowers over a blue and gray striped sweater. Logic was swaddled in a navy-blue blanket and almost always seemed to be sleeping, he was the smallest of the babies. Creativity was closer to Thomas’s age and was always crawling around in a green and red patterned onesie. Self-Preservation was the oldest of the babies and almost seemed on the edge of talking, but not quite yet — he was very good at knowing when Thomas was hungry, or sleepy, or needed to be changed.
It was a little lonely for Patton at the moment, the babies not being able to talk and all, but he had Thomas, and he loved Thomas so much.
And Thomas’s mom! Patton loved Thomas’s mom! She was holding Thomas, and everything was good!
Until…
A woman came over, she almost seemed familiar, but she had weird ears on the top of her head, and black lines coming out from her nose; Patton had never seen her before. She and Thomas’s mom talked for a moment and then Thomas’s mom was…
“WE DON'T KNOW HER!”
Patton jumped as another boy appeared next to him. This boy might be even older than Patton himself. He was wearing an oversized purple and purple striped hoodie that’s sleeves fell well past his hands — or at least, they would if he didn’t currently have one pushed up so he could chew on his fingernails as he and Patton both watched the strange woman get closer and closer.
“So?” Patton asked, bewildered. Truthfully, he had been concerned about that as well, but this new boy seemed even more concerned.
“So she’s a stranger!” The boy yelled. “She shouldn’t be holding Thomas! Mommy should be holding Thomas! We don’t want her to hold Thomas!”
Patton felt tears spring to his eyes as the boy’s words rang true. He didn’t want a stranger, he wanted Thomas’s mom.
Thomas began to cry.
“Tommy!” Mom cooed, standing over Thomas in the other woman’s arms. “It’s just Aunt Patty. You know Aunt Patty.”
“That doesn’t look like Aunt Patty!”
As Thomas began to wail harder, Patton began to cry too. In his crib, Logic opened his eyes.
“He probably doesn’t recognize me in my costume,” the woman said. “It’s ok, Tommy, it’s just Halloween.”
“What does that even mean!?” Thomas, Patton, and this new boy were all crying.
Distantly, it occurred to Patton that Self-Preservation was not crying, but rather, observing them calmly from his crib while trying to push the hood of his snake onesie out of his eyes. Self-Preservation usually cried when Thomas cried, Self-Preservation usually pushed Thomas to cry. Patton didn’t usually cry when Self-Preservation cried.
Not this time. This time it was solely driven by this new boy, and Patton was feeling every bit of it.
“It’s okay, Tommy,” mom said as she pulled Thomas back into her arms and began to rock him from side to side. This seemed to soothe the new boy, and as his tears ebbed, so did Thomas’s.
“That was close,” the boy said, much more quietly than he’d spoken earlier.
“Yeah,” Patton agreed as he wiped the remaining tears from his eyes with the sleeve of his sweater. He wasn’t sure what they’d been close to, but he was sure the other boy must be right. He was older, after all.
“I’m tired,” the boy said, barely above a whisper, as he walked over to a new big-boy bed that was now next to Patton’s and crawled under the several soft-looking blankets that covered it.
The nameplate at the foot of his bed said “Anxiety” in purple. Patton wondered what “Anxiety” meant as Thomas’s mom continued to coo at Thomas. The other woman cooed at Thomas too, but in the safety of his mom’s arms, it didn't matter quite so much that they didn’t know her.
Self-Preservation waited almost five minutes before letting out an ear-splitting wail to let Thomas’s mom, and everyone else, know that Thomas was hungry.
~~~END~~~
I kinda wanted to do the opening scene from Inside Out, but a little bit older cuz I feel like any Sides that existed when Thomas was born were tiny baby.
According to my mom, as soon as I turned six months old I would not let strangers hold me and I thought that that would be a good time for Virgil to just pop into existence.

It’s Not Easy
A smallville Love story - Clark Kent x OC
Tumblr media
A normal day. That’s what it was. At least, it started that way for Rose’s mom, Eleanore Potter. Being a single mother had its ups and downs. Rose was a relatively easy infant. Nell noticed she rarely cried, mostly stared. As a toddler, she was loud and obnoxious. Little Rosalie only found comfort in two things, flowers and her cousin, Lana Lang.
The typically chilly, October morning in Smallville, Kansas was quiet. Nell owned this quaint flower shop in the heart of downtown Smallville. She was severely understaffed and typically brought her daughter with her during days like this. So when her sister, Laura, asked her to babysit her daughter, Lana, while she and her husband, Lewis, watched the homecoming game, it was just ‘no big deal.’
Rose was frustrated. Well, about as frustrated as a 3-year-old can be. Rose had spent the morning begging her mother to let her wear her pumpkin Halloween costume to the flower shop, to no avail. So when her uncle dropped off a sweet little girl in a fairy princess costume, needless to say, little Rosalie was livid. The afternoon was filled with whining and pouting. Nell could hardly keep up. The bell above the door chimed as a beautiful couple walked through it.
“Afternoon, Nell,” said a strong voice. Nell’s heart skipped a beat.
“Jonathan,” Nell’s voice reached Rose’s ears. “Martha. What a surprise.”
Little Rose could care less about their conversation, all she wanted to do was cause mischief. So, while her mother was distracted, she slipped away. She found herself in the back of the shop, where her mother would dispose of her flower scraps. Rose managed to climb her way into the big tub of trimmings, sinking into it. She grinned happily. She didn’t mind the dirt, she never did. She viewed the imperfect flowers and wilted stems as her friends, she didn’t have many around town, unlike Lana.
A meteor shower rained over Smallville, as a slumbering Rose laid in her bed of flowers. Nell, having just witnessed her sister and brother-in-law’s tragic demise, scooped up the little fairy princess into her arms, desperate to find her daughter. Nell sprinted through her shop, she knew where her daughter was, it wasn’t uncommon for her to find Rose in the scrap tub. It happened so many times, she lost count. She pushed the back door open, holding Lana tight to her chest. The tub Nell had seen her daughter in so many times had toppled over. Nell’s eyes darted to and fro, searching for her little Rosalie. A large bundle of tree roots, cracking through the concrete was all she saw. She walked toward it, looking around it. Glowing green rocks peppered the ground surrounding the clump. Nell furrowed her eyebrows. She had no time for this! She needed to find her daughter. Now. As soon as that thought entered her mind, the bundle unraveled itself. Her eyes widened, that was impossible. The roots retreated into the soil, revealing a sleeping Rose. Eleanore had no time to question what she had just witnessed. She scooped up her daughter, her small frame carrying both girls to the nearest shelter.
Tumblr media
The deliciously sweet scent of maple syrup flooded Rose’s senses as she stirred awake. The once spunky little toddler had grown into a beautiful young woman, who enjoyed the occasional spunky behavior every now and then. She turned under her many blankets, jutting an arm from her cone of comfort to shut off her alarm. She slumped out of bed, to the floor, contemplating whether or not she should get on with her day. She pulled a hoodie over her head, ultimately deciding it was worth it to venture into the world today. She jumped as she opened the door, not expecting to see her grinning cousin, wafting a plate of pancakes into her room.
“Good morning,” Lana laughed, a wide grin resting on her face as she handed Rose the plate of pancakes.
Rose happily gobbled up the stack of pancakes, offering a quick ‘thank you’ before walking downstairs to grab a cup of coffee.
“Good morning, Lovely,” Rose’s mother greeted from the kitchen counter as Rose reached up, grabbing a mug from the cupboard. Nell smirked from behind her mug. “Homecoming’s this Saturday…”
Rose halted her movements at the sentence. She set the coffee pot back down, her mug only half full. “Don’t need a date to go to the dance, mom,” she mumbled, picking the coffee pot and filling the rest of the mug.
“Come on, Rosalie,” Nell egged on. “You’re more than capable of getting a date.”
“Thanks, mom,” Rose shook her head. “I appreciate the support for me giving into social norms.”
“Listen, Aunt Nell,” Lana uttered from the stairs. “I’ve been trying to convince her to just ask out Clark Kent. She stares at him constantly.”
“I do not stare. He’s a friend, Lana. I can glance at a friend,” Rose rolled her eyes. “Besides, it doesn’t matter how many times I look at Clark. He’s always got his eyes on you.”
Rose walked passed Lana, patting her head twice before venturing up the stairs to get ready for school.
Tumblr media
Rose didn’t mind taking the bus. Sure, Lana’s super hot, quarterback boyfriend had a sick van and he was more than willing to drive Rose to school, but she refused every time. Who’s to say what the reason behind that was.
Clark.
The reason was always Clark.
Halfway to the bus stop, she looked up to see her two good friends, Chloe Sullivan and Pete Ross, just a block ahead of her. She picked up the pace, managing to catch up to them in record time.
“Ah there she is,” Chloe exclaimed, gesturing dramatically as Rose slowed her pace. “My best and favorite Torch Photographer.”
“And only,” Pete interjected, sporting a small smirk.
“Hey, guys,” Rose grinned, looking around. “Where’s the tall one?”
“Late,” Pete rolled his eyes. “$5 says he misses the bus.”
“I’ll take that action,” said Chloe, jutting out her arm towards him, to which he firmly shook. The pair then turned to Rose who, who simply blinked in response.
“I don’t know. I’m an optimist,” she shrugged. “I’m sure he won’t miss it.”
But sure enough, no Clarks were spotted as the big yellow vehicle pulled up to the stop.
“I can’t believe you bet against your best friend,” Chloe smiled as they settled into their seats. The bus began to move, as Chloe handed Pete his rightfully earned cash.
“Statistical fact,” Pete smirked, pocketing the bill. “If Clark moved any slower, he’d be extinct.”
Tumblr media
“So, anyone ask you to the dance?” Pete tried to catch up as Chloe and Rose walked to the school.
“Not yet,” both girls replied, giving him a sort of puzzled look.
“Ah, well,” Pete fumbled. “Chloe, maybe you and I can go together.”
Chloe glanced at him as he backtracked.
“I mean, not as a ‘date’ date thing, more of like a friend-friend thing.”
“Hi, guys…” a familiar voice sounded from behind them.
All three turned to see Clark Kent standing before them. He struggled with his books in his arms, adjusting his bag on his shoulder, all while sporting a bit of a slouch. Yet he still towered over all of them.
“Well, uh-“ Chloe stuttered, very confused. “Didn’t you just- weren’t you-“
“I took a shortcut,” Clark stated, nonchalantly, earning a bit of a laugh from Rose.
“Through what, a black hole?” Chloe deadpanned.
“Clark,” Pete snaked his arm over his best friend’s shoulders, pulling him down ever so slightly due to his height. “You’ll have to excuse our intrepid reporter. Seems as though her Weirdar is on DEFCON 5.”
“Just because everyone chooses to ignore the strange things that happen in this leafy little hamlet,” Chloe sped ahead before turning to look at the trio. “Doesn’t mean they don’t happen.”
“Now, you know we’d love to join you and Scooby inside the Mystery Machine for another zany adventure,” Pete started.
“You calling me Scooby, Pete?” Rose raised her eyebrow and folded her arms, earning a quick chuckle from Clark.
“But, uh,” Pete turned to Clark, pulling out his paper. “We gotta hand in these permission slips before homeroom.”
“So you and Pete, huh?” Rose tried to tease Chloe as the pair walked away. Chloe’s attention remained on the boys.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Chloe stomped towards them, Rose following closely behind. “You two are trying out for the football team? What is this, sort of like a teen suicide pact?”
Pete pulled her harshly to a less populated area, earning a yelp from the junior reporter. Rose exchanged a look with Clark before they followed suit.
“We’re trying to avoid becoming this year’s scarecrow,” Pete’s voice fell low.
“What are you talking about?” Chloe matched his tone. “And WHY ARE WE WHISPERING!?”
Pete pulled her lower, effectively shushing her.
“It’s a homecoming tradition in this dumbass town,” Rose shook her head in disapproval. “Every year before the big game, the football team chooses a freshman, take him up to Riley fields, strip him down to his boxers, and then paint an ‘S’ on his chest.”
“And then string him up like a scarecrow,” Clark finished.
“Pretty damn sure it’s illegal .”
“Jeez, that sounds like years of therapy waiting to happen,” Chloe commented.
“Why do you think we’re trying out for the team?” Pete asked. “Figure they won’t choose one of their own.”
As per usual, Rose had her attention on Clark. She had noticed he was no longer looking towards their little group. She followed his gaze.
Lana.
It was always Lana.
“I’ll see you guys in class,” Clark muttered half mindedly, starting towards Rose’s cousin.
“Bye,” Chloe replied as the group focused their attention on the retreating giant.
“Give him ten seconds,” Pete pulled the $5 from his coat pocket.
“Five,” Chloe replied.
Rose felt a pit in her stomach as she watched him. She shook her head, trying to rid herself from the thought. Even if Clark had a huge crush on her cousin, it wouldn’t matter. Lana had Whitney. Rose began to count the seconds. As soon as she reached ‘5,’ Clark took a swan dive straight to the ground.
“Statistical fact,” Chloe smiled, snatching the bill. “Clark Kent can’t get within five feet of Lana Lang without turning into a total freak show.”
“I’ll catch you guys later.” Rose cleared her throat, earning disappointed grumbling. She glanced briefly at Lana, who was bent down, helping Clark with his scattered books along the floor. “Got a history quiz I should be cramming for.”
She waved to her friends before awkwardly walking passed her cousin. Maybe she could slip away without drawing any attention.
“Dude,” Whitney bent down to a rather green looking Clark. “Are you feeling alright?”
“I’m fine…” Clark replied, avoiding eye contact.
“Oh!” Lana had spotted her retreating cousin, rushing over. She pulled Rose by the arm. “Clark, I do believe Rose has something to ask you.”
Clark’s gaze fell on Rose who was struggling to break free from her cousin’s grip. She could feel little leaves growing on her arm, something that usually happened when she felt nervous. She tugged her sleeves down, attempting to hide them. She shook her head, laughing awkwardly.
“Nope,” she stated. “I do not. Carry on.”
“We’ll get out of your hair,” said Lana, as she turned away, making sure to send a wink Rose’s way as she did so.
“Oh, Clark,” Whitney bent down, picking up a book. “You forgot one.”
He tossed the book to Clark, making him topple over like a domino. Whitney then pulled Lana to walk away. Rose scowled at them, helping Clark with his books.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it,” Rose offered her hand, pulling him to his feet. “Whitney’s a prick, but he has his moments and he makes Lana happy.”
“Hey,” Clark swiftly changed the subject. “What did you want to ask me?”
“Oh, it’s nothing, I just-“ her eyes met his and he smiled at her. She could feel her cheeks turning red. “My mom’s got it in her head that I need a date for Homecoming.”
“And you were going to ask me?” Clark’s grin seemed to grow at the thought. Rose must’ve imagined it. That was impossible.
“Well, no.” His grin softened. “I wasn’t going to ask anyone.”
“If you asked me, I’d say yes”
“Stop joking around, Clarkson,” Rose laughed, pushing his shoulder slightly. He didn’t budge, but Rose didn’t think anything of it.
“If you wanted a date…”
“You’re serious?”
“Yes.”
“I- Okay.”
“That settles it.”
“You’re my date to Homecoming?”
“That’s the idea,” Clark chuckled.
Tiny little flowers popped into her hair. She abruptly turned around in an attempt to hide the red creeping up her face. She cupped her cheeks, her skin warm under her cold palms.
“Were those flowers in your hair this entire time?” Clark asked, puzzled.
“Yup. I was trying out new accessories.” Rose panicked. “Well see ya!”
She was gone. Clark smiled to himself before walking to his homeroom.
Tumblr media
Marching band was rather uneventful for Rose that evening. She sighed, setting down her flute on the terf. She grabbed her water bottle and brought it to her lips, taking a swig. Hydration was very important during practices. A quick glance to the bleachers was all it took for her to spot her newly attained homecoming date. He hadn’t noticed her. She didn’t need to follow his gaze to know who he was staring at. Her cousin, of course. However, Rose couldn’t be bothered that afternoon. Was Rose his second choice? Most likely. But Rose didn’t care. He was her date. Not Lana’s. Rose figured he had to have harbored at least a bit of feelings for her.
Tumblr media
“Rose, did you want some cocoa?” Lana asked, grabbing a saucepan.
“No, I’m fine,” Rose replied, closing her textbook. “I was thinking about checking up on Clark. I heard he took quite the dive to save Lex Luthor today. Talk about heroic.”
“Oh, tell him i said ‘hi.’” Lana smiled.
“Will do.”
Rose walked out the door and skipped off the porch, the flower bed growing more vibrant as she passed it. The walk to Clark’s was slightly longer than you’d expect, but Rose didn’t mind. She liked looking at the stars. Even though she knew nothing about them. She loved stargazing on long walks.
She knew Clark would be hauled up in his loft above the barn, but out of politeness, she started toward the front porch. She gave the door to the bright yellow house a couple firm knocks. Martha Kent pulled the door open after a couple short seconds. She smiled, sweetly. The gesture, giving Rose a warm and fuzzy feeling.
“Rose! What a surprise!” She exclaimed. “What brings you here tonight?”
“Hi, Mrs. Kent!” Rose replied before pointing to the barn. “I heard what happened to Clark. I was thinking I’d check on him.”
“Oh!” Martha perked, smirking at her husband for a second. “Why don’t you head on over. I’m sure he’d be happy to see you.”
“Thanks, Mr. And Mrs. Kent!” Rose waved before stepping off the porch.
The barn was quite dark. If she didn’t know any better she’d think he wasn’t up there. She climbed the short flight of stairs only to see Clark Kent, slouched over, looking into a telescope, fixed on her house.
“That’s quite an invasion of privacy, Clarkson,” she said, walking towards him.
“Rose!” Clark jumped, turning to her, his cheeks a bit red. Rose gave him a solemn look before looking out the loft window. Her eyes fell on Lana and Whitney on the front porch. “It’s not what it looks like.”
“You must really like her,” Rose swallowed her feelings with a lighthearted laugh, to which Clark nodded. “You don’t have to go with me to the dance, Clark.”
“But I want to go with you,” Clark’s eyes met hers, immediately making Rose look away.
“I don’t think I want to go with you,” Rose chuckled, sitting on his couch. “We’re better off as friends anyway.”
Clark nodded at the statement, breaking her heart.
“So I heard what you did,” She smiled. “Superhero Clark Kent. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, just a couple scratches,” He lied.
“Well, I’m glad you’re alright, I don’t know what I’d do without you around.”
“Of course,” Clark laughed, ruffling her hair. “How would you get anything from the top shelf?”
“Shut up,” Rose chuckled before standing up. “I better get going. And I better not see that telescope fixed on my front porch again.”
She pointed at him, raising an eyebrow. He raised his right hand, placing his left on his heart, smiling.
“I promise.”
“Good.”
Tumblr media
He watched as her head disappeared down the stairs.
Rose.
He’d known her for as long as he could remember. Hell, she was his first kiss. He always admired her confident, care-free nature. Confidence was something he always felt he lacked. Lana and Rose were polar opposites, a fact Clark had noticed a long time ago. Though both were raised by Nell Potter, Rose refused to be the ‘picture perfect daughter,’ while Lana seemed to fit the title to a tea effortlessly. Clark admired Rose for keeping true to herself and knowing who she was. That was something Clark couldn’t quite figure out. He admired everything about her, but admiration wasn’t love.
He loved Lana. He knew he did. She was beautiful, sweet, gentle, and dedicated. She was perfect. What’s not to love? Most importantly, she was unattainable. She was in a long term, committed relationship with Whitney Fordman, Smallville’s star quarterback. Perhaps that was why he liked her. You want what you can’t have. Regardless, he had strong feelings for Lana Lang with little chance of them faltering.
So why did his chest tighten while watching her cousin walk away?
Tumblr media
She trudged along the dirt road leading up to her house, shivering at the cool breeze. A trail of black dahlias growing with each step. She stomped through the front porch, where Lana sat, sipping her cocoa.
“So how’s loverboy?” Lana asked, grinning.
“He’s fine, hold on,” Rose turned to face the barn, where she knew Clark would see her. She rather dramatically shot him the bird. She couldn’t see it, but she smiled to herself, knowing she’d freaked him out.
“And what was that for?” Lana asked.
“Just something between me and Clark, it’s fine” Rose grinned.
“Okay,” Lana smiled. “I’ll take your word for it.”
“I saw Whitney earlier, is he still here?”
“No,” Lana shook her head. Rose raised her eyebrow at Lana’s bare neck, pointing at it.
“And where’s your necklace?”
“I lent it to Whitney,” Lana hummed, smiling fondly at the thought of her little gesture.
“That’s real sweet, Lana, but do you really trust him that much?”
“I do,” she nodded.
Rose laughed a bit, earning a puzzled look from Lana.
“What? What is it?”
“You two have been dating for, what? Two months?” Rose sat beside her. “And you give him the one thing you have left of your parents?”
“He’s just borrowing it, Rose,” Lana rolled her eyes. “He’ll give it back, he understands how much it means to me.”
“Right, with his 3 years on us, he’s become quite wise. The senior jock, he is, he has to be very responsible and reliable.”
“I don’t like your tone,” Lana folded her arms across her chest.
“That’s kind of the point,” Rose stated. “He’s sweet when he wants to be but he’s also a bully. He’s like one of those toddlers who turn into angels in the presence of adults. Not a trait you want to see in a 17 year old, Lana.”
“This conversation was not an invitation to shit on my boyfriend, Rosalie,” Lana abruptly stood up. “I think we both need some rest. Goodnight.”
She stepped inside the house, without another word. Rose sighed, rising to her feet. She folded the blanket that Lana was using and tossed it over her shoulder, cleaning up the porch before walking towards the door. Just as she was about to walk through, Lana shut it with a slam. Rose ran her hand through her hair in frustration, opening the door and stepping inside.
Tumblr media
Rose and Lana fought a lot. They were complete opposites, so naturally they butted heads frequently. They would go days, even weeks without speaking to each other after arguments. This was one of those days. That morning, Lana had made french toast for everyone, except Rose. Even Whitney. That afternoon, Rose had lied and told Nell that Lana planned to spend the weekend up at the Fordman lake house with booze and drugs.
It was now late evening. Lana hadn’t come back from her evening ride. That usually meant Lana was visiting her parents at the cemetery. Lana was insecure about her little habit of talking to her parents’ grave. She considered herself crazy, speaking to the dead. Rose would always reassure her that the comfort she found in speaking to her parents was completely valid.
As per usual, Rose was sat on the front porch bench, under the comfort of a blanket and a mug of hot cocoa by her side. Her nimble fingers moved with purpose as she worked on her latest crochet project. She was currently working on a sheen green, sunflower granny square bandana for Chloe. Rose always loved this shade of green on the junior reporter. She made a mental note to make one for her Journalism teacher as well.
“Hey, Rose,” Whitney jogged towards the porch. “You and Lana still fighting?”
“You know it,” Rose snapped her fingers at him, to which Whitney chuckled.
“She around?”
“No, she’s gone to visit her parents,” Rose then pointed to another chair on the porch. “You’re welcome to stay and wait for her.”
He obliged, taking a seat.
“Hey, what’re your favorite colors? Winter’s just around the corner, figured I could make you and Lana a matching set.”
“I like a good set of fall colors like browns and reds.”
“Perfect!” Rose perked up, tossing her blanket off and running back into the house for her yarn.
When she had returned, however, Whitney had moved. He was instead, standing in the corner of the porch, staring into the night. Rose walked over to him, following his gaze. Her heart sank as her eyes fell on Clark and Lana. He had walked her home. It was an innocent gesture of friendship, yet the tension felt anything but. Rose shifted her weight from one foot to the other, as she bit the inside of her cheek. She took notice of how uncomfortable Whitney was about the scene unfolding before them. He couldn’t look away, his hands in fists at his side, his jaw clenched. Then, as if the situation couldn’t get any worse, Lana lifted onto her toes to plant an innocent kiss on Clark’s cheek.
“You've gotta be kidding,” Rose muttered, picking up her things and stepping back into her home. She stomped through the living room and up the stairs. Every plant in the house soon wilted as she slammed her bedroom door shut. She fell to her bed and screamed into her pillow, letting out her teenage frustrations.
“Rose?” Lana knocked on the door and opened it. “I know we’re fighting, but I saw the flowers. Thought I’d check in.”
“Do you even feel any remorse at all?” Rose asked, sitting up. “You know he likes you. Why encourage it?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” Lana leaned against the door frame, folding her arms.
“Not to mention you have a boyfriend,” Rose rolled her eyes. “AND your cousin happens to have very deep feelings for the guy.”
“I think it might be time to give up on Clark, don’t you think?” Lana paired her words with a concerned gaze. “You deserve someone who can actually love you.”
“I’m sorry, wasn’t it you who encouraged me to ask him out just yesterday?”
“That was before I realized he could never love you. You deserve better, Rose.”
“Sometimes, Lana,” Rose stood from her bed, walking up to her. “You can be a real bitch.”
Rose shoved passed her, walking down the stairs. She wrapped a scarf around her neck and pulled a beanie over her head. Both she had crocheted for herself. She wrapped a warm coat around herself and reached for the door.
“And where do you think you’re going?” Her mother’s voice sounded from the kitchen. She was cleaning the dead plants her chlorokinetic daughter had murdered in her rage.
“Out.” Rose stated, turning the handle and pulling the door open. “If you want to know what happened, ask Lana.”
She slammed the door shut as she left.
Tumblr media
She really didn’t know how she got there. After leaving her house, she sort of mindlessly walked. She had found herself in Clark’s loft. It was dark and empty but it felt safe. It felt like home.
She walked about the space, taking notice of everything. She had never been up here without Clark. The quiet felt so calming. She ran her hand over the sofa. So many group projects were completed on its comforting cushions. She looked through the expensive telescope she knew the Kents saved three months for as Clark’s birthday gift last year. She knew how much he loved it. She may have been the one to slip them the catalog, five months before, but she would never tell. She traced the carvings on the lid of a beautiful wooden chest before lifting it open. She pumped her fist in the air, a small celebration, having found a blanket she could use. Upon further inspection, she realized it was the blanket she had crocheted him the winter before. She grinned to herself. Of course he would keep it. But it was a bit worn, and the first blanket on the pile. That could only mean he used it often. She pulled it out of the chest and set it on the couch. She pulled off her coat and accessories, folding them neatly and rested them on the couch arm rest. She dived onto the couch, draping the blanket over her body. Clark wouldn’t mind if she stayed there that night.

The words of his parents echoed in his ears all evening. He was struggling to process it. He was different, sure. He’s known that forever. But an alien? He couldn’t be from a whole other planet. Perhaps that was why he was always drawn to the stars. He shook his head, letting the water from the shower head wash over his face. He had to clear his mind. There was no use wallowing in an existential crisis. He rubbed his face as the water ran down it. He turned the shower knob to the side, shutting off the water. He grabbed his towel and dried himself off. He used his hand to wipe off the fog from the mirror. He stared at himself in disbelief. He looked human, but he wasn’t. To the whole world he was Clark Kent, farm boy, boy next door, regular kid. But now, Clark only saw an alien. His parents had told him not to think that way, that he was still the same Clark. But it was different now. Why was he here in the first place? He was intentionally sent there. But why?
He had slipped on some boxers and pajama pants. He walked down the stairs and out the door, a small towel hung securely around the back of his neck, to aid his wet hair in the drying process. The cold never bothered him so he skipped the shirt. He stepped out the door and strolled towards his barn. He figured it was still early and he could get a couple assignments done before calling it a very eventful day.
His steps were heavy, he was never known for being light on his feet. He jumped a bit at the movement from his couch. His head shot towards it, blinking repeatedly as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. Clark stepped closer, wanting to inspect the intruder, luckily it was him that was here, not his parents, in case the intruder meant harm. Though he was cautious, he didn’t feel like he was in any danger. He stepped closer still, not yet recognizing the person that lay on the couch. She turned over to the side, facing him. He was taken aback. Why, it was Rosalie Potter. Wrapped in his blanket. On his couch. In his barn loft.
She looked so peaceful in her slumber. He’d never seen her asleep before. He sat on the edge of the couch, admiring her frame. She wouldn’t have hidden here if something wasn’t wrong. He sighed, gently brushing the hair from her face.
“I wish you’d tell me what’s wrong,” he whispered.
Rose reached up and held his hand in her sleep. It was a gesture that made Clark blush bright red. A bit too intimate for friends, he thought. He gently stood up, at least that was what he meant to do. Rose’s grip tightened. He glanced back at her, her eyebrows furrowed as sturdy vines sprouted from her arm, wrapping around his. Clark’s eyes widened. In his shock, he couldn’t do too much but let her pull him onto the couch with the assistance of her vines. Clark tried so very hard to process this information quickly. Rose had powers. And she had just used them to cuddle with him.
“Uh- Rose?” Clark stuttered in hopes he could wake her.
Rose yawned, small and quick, snuggling into his chest. By then Clark had given up. He could free himself with ease, but he ultimately decided it would be a mistake to wake her now.
“Mine,” the sleeping rose mumbled, pulling him closer.
The red that rested on Clark’s cheeks grew more vibrant. He couldn’t help but wrap his arms protectively around her.
“I don’t know what happened, Rosalie,” he pressed his lips on the top of her head briefly, leaving a gentle kiss. “But I’ll always be here for you.”
He pulled her closer, letting his eyes fall shut. Her vines unraveled and disappeared. The sleep came quickly. Quicker than it ever had before. He’d been having a bit of an insomniac spell for the past couple weeks. Rose’s embrace felt so safe, he slept through the night.
Tumblr media
Rose inhaled as she rose from her slumber. The scent of men’s body wash flooded her senses. She yelped at the scent, falling off the edge of the couch. Clark shot straight up, his eyes wide as he stared at Rose who was rubbing where her head hit the floor.
“Are you okay?” Clark asked, reaching over and pulling her to her feet with ease.
“Yeah! I’m fine…” Rose shifted from one foot to the other, pointing between her, Clark, and the couch. “Why were you cuddling me?”
“Hey, I’m just sleeping on my couch,” He tilted his head, a smirk forming on his lips. “You’re the one trespassing.”
“Hey, you should be flattered, this is my safe space.” Rose folded her arms.
“I am,” Clark grinned. “And you’re always welcome. Just knock next time so I can offer my room instead, okay?”
“Will do,” Rose gave a small smile.
“Oh, and one more thing,” Clark tapped his hands on his thighs, awkwardly. “Save me a dance tonight?”
“Consider all of them yours, Clarkson,” Rose’s smile broke into a grin.
Tumblr media
Rose’s cheeks flushed as she thought about Clark’s arms around her. Rose was not a shy girl. She was very friendly. She was very familiar with male attention, some may even describe her as a flirt. But it was different with Clark. It always was. He was the only person who could make her blush. Perhaps it was because she had loved him for years. As she rounded the corner of her house, she stopped for a second, taking a deep breath. It was time to face the wrath of her mother.
“Where the hell have you been, Rosalie Cordelia Potter?” Nell’s voice was firm but calm as Rose walked through the door.
“Mom, me and Lana had a bit of a spat-“
“-and that justifies you staying out all night without a call?”
“Well, no,” Rose tossed her keys on the table. “But I was less than a mile away at the Kents-“
“And now you’re staying at a boy’s? Rosalie, this is not the girl I raised.”
“As if you did much raising,” Rose scoffed, walking past her mother and up the stairs. “Why don’t you go talk to Lana about it. Maybe she’s the daughter you raised. I have to go to work.”
Tumblr media
The Beanery was Smallville’s only cafe. Rose worked there on weekends and some nights. Better than working part time at mom’s shop that’s for sure, Rose had thought. As if she wouldn’t drop everything if her mother asked her to.
Rose wiped the spilt milk on the counter, lost in her thoughts. The bell on the door chimed as it opened. She turned towards the noise. Rose grinned as Clark walked up to the counter.
“It’s been awhile,” Clark joked, matching her grin.
“Well, how do you do, stranger?” Rose tossed the rag she was using over her shoulder. “What can I getcha?”
“Chloe’s got some sort of theory on a strange man she and Pete saw this morning,” Clark answered. “We’re meeting in the school library for information.”
“So… Hazelnut cappuccino for Chloe, something sweet for Pete, and an Americano for you?” Rose punched in the prices.
“You know us so well,” Clark smirked.
“Well, I’m not just your barista, you know,” Rose replied, that stupid grin never left her face. “$12.50”
“These prices are going up,” Clark muttered, in an attempt to continue the conversation.
“I don’t make the rules, Clarkson,” Rose raised her voice as she aerated the milk for Chloe’s cappuccino, cuing the shots.
“You’re really good at that,” Clark leaned on the counter, watching her work. Luckily, the cafe wasn’t busy, so Rose could talk with Clark as much as she wanted.
“It isn’t that hard, just comes with practice.” She finished off Chloe’s drink, writing her name on it and a small heart.
“About that dance tonight,” Clark started, grabbing a to-go tray, placing Chloe’s drink inside. “Did you want me to pick you up?”
“No, thanks,” Rose finished off Pete’s with a smiley face. “Whitney said he’d drive us. And I’d much prefer being driven by someone who actually has their license.”
“Oh, come on, I drive for my parents all the time. What’s an official license going to do?” Clark grinned as she walked over with the last drink, his.
She uncapped her sharpie, jotting down ‘Clarkson’ in possibly the sweetest handwriting he had ever seen, and punctuating it with a star.
“A star?” Clark inspected the doodle before sipping his americano. “Why’s that?”
“Because you’re star guy,” Rose chuckled. “You know, you like stars.”
“You know, I outta have you over one night,” Clark started. Rose’s eyes darted away at the thought. “Maybe I can teach you a bit on astronomy.”
“Oh,” Rose sighed in relief. “You know, that’s a great idea, Clarkson.”
“How’s next weekend?”
“Great! It’s a date.”
”It’s a date?” Clark smirked at her, his height suddenly making her nervous.
“It’s a date… the 27th.” Rose nodded. “The date I will go to your loft. For our platonic hang out.”
“That sounds perfect, Rosalie,” Clark chuckled, grabbing the drinks. “Don’t forget to save me that dance.”
“Couldn’t if I tried, Clark,” she grinned as he waved goodbye.
Tumblr media
Rose stood in her little corner of the gymnasium and sipped from her little cup of punch. She had turned down a whopping six boys asking to dance with her. A bit rude, seeing as the man of her affections had not yet shown, but Rosalie was a stubborn girl. When she said she would save all of her dances for Clark, she meant all her dances. She wore a sage green spaghetti strap dress that fell just below her knees. The top of her hair held in place with a clip, as the rest of it was down. Her naturally wavy hair was accentuated with artificial curls she had achieved with her curling iron.
“Why aren’t you dancing, Rose.” The newly crowned Homecoming king found his way to the bored girl. “Who goes to a dance and doesn’t dance?”
“Waiting for someone…” Rose muttered, looking around a bit.
“Come on, still? After what he did to you?” Whitney shook his head, gazing at the shorter girl. “You should be happy that barnyard hillbilly didn’t show.”
“We all live in the same small town, Whitney. You’re one to talk.” Rose scoffed. “And he’s going to come. He promised.”
“Not likely,” Whitney snickered.
“What do you mean by that?” Rose asked, setting down her cup. A pit in her stomach formed, she had a terrible feeling.
He just stared in response, hoping she would just drop the question all together.
“Whitney.” She stepped forward, taking a deep breath in order to calm herself down. “What did you do?”
“I-“
“You’re driving me to Riley fields right now,” She began to walk towards the exit.
“What do I tell Lana?”
“Oh, I don’t know.” Rose turned to face him again. “Maybe that you strung up our friend, half naked, in a field on one of the coldest nights of the season?”
“You can’t pin that on me. You have no proof I’m guilty.”
“Oh, you little fucker,” Rose patted him down. Once she found his keys, she raised her hand and slapped the back of his head. Whitney winced in pain.
“What’s going on, guys?” Lana had noticed the commotion from across the room and decided to investigate.
“Nothing, babe.” Whitney rubbed the spot rose had smacked, causing Lana to inspect it herself. “Rose just needs some air. Isn’t that right, Rose?”
“Yeah,” Rose scoffed, rolling her eyes. She turned on her heel and began to walk away “If I don’t come back, I drove Whitney’s van into the lake.”
“Don’t-“ Rose flipped him off as she continued walking to the exit. “Do whatever you want, it’s fine.”
Tumblr media
Rose drove through the town, as quickly as she could without getting pulled over. Riley Fields happened to be right next to the LuthorCorp Fertilizer Plant. She pulled over just outside both locations and stepped out of the car. She furrowed her eyebrows at the sight of a sports car, but she thought nothing of it, there were more important issues at hand.
“CLARK!” She shouted as she ventured into the cornfield, her hands cupped around her mouth. “CLARK, IT’S ROSE!”
She soon made it to a clearing. A post stood in the middle of it, rope dangling from it. She sighed in relief, someone already untied him.
“You just missed him,” A smooth voice sounded from behind her, making Rose jump and turn around. “Were you the one who did this?”
The man before her was young, about 21. He had a medium build. She could tell from the suit and the sports car that he was rich, but she didn’t have to infer that. She knew who he was. She read enough Daily Planet to recognize Lex Luthor when she saw him.
“No,” She pulled her crocheted shawl tightly around her body, suddenly feeling a bit too revealing. “As soon as I found out he was this year’s scarecrow, I rushed over to get him down.”
“Are you a friend of Clarks?”
“Yes… a friend. I’m his friend.”
“What’s your name?”
“We’ve met before.”
“You’ll have to refresh my memory,” Lex smiled politely. “I think I’d remember if I met someone like you.”
“If you’ll excuse me, I have a dance to give,” Rose ignored his comment, turning on her heel and walking back into the fields.
“Good luck on your little crush,” Lex shouted. “You must be Rosalie.”
She shuddered as she closed the door to the van after getting in. Nothing but bad news, Rose thought as she started the car. Keep an eye on Lex Luthor.
Tumblr media
She walked through the gymnasium, searching for the tall gentleman who had just escaped his own prison. Rose folded her arms as she watched all the couples dance. Right back to square one. She grinned happily as she saw Chloe and Pete dancing together. They made a handsome couple.
Rose’s eyes darted to the door as she felt a gaze on her. The door closed as her eyes fell on it. She furrowed her eyebrows, sighing. She looked down at her feet and rubbed her arm. Rose figured he just went home after everything. Hell, I would too. She thought to herself. It would be the rational thing to do.
“Oh, he didn’t show?” Lana walked up to Rose, holding Whitney’s hand.
Rose shook her head in response. “Hey, Whitney? Could you drop me off at the Kents’ instead tonight?”
“Good idea,” said Lana as she snapped her fingers. “So you can beat him up.”
“Yeah,” Rose chuckled halfheartedly. “Something like that.”
Tumblr media
Rose stepped out of Whitney’s van, shooting the driver a venomous glance before slamming the door shut. Lana was still confused as to why her boyfriend and her cousin were fighting, but she didn’t want to anger Rose by asking. Not after the night she had. Rose looked up at the window of Clark’s barn loft. She swallowed around nothing and she inhaled deeply. She noted the light escaping the window, confirming Clark’s presence up there. Whitney’s van pulled away, towards Rose’s home. She briefly glanced at it as they drove away. Her attention shifted back to the loft. She took one more breath before taking her first step.
(Cue Everything by Lifehouse)
She climbed up the steps she had so many times before. Only this time, her steps felt heavier. It was almost difficult, she could feel her own reluctance. She wanted to face Clark, but was she even ready to? Did she even really want to? Was that her desire? To see him. After everything? Her mind went blank as she reached the top. There he was. Blue pullover, a crimson red t-shirt peeking out the top. He was staring out the window, spaced out in the middle of the room. He was lost in thought. Rose noted the radio was on, it happened to be a song she enjoyed. Lifehouse always reminded her of Clark.
“I love this song,” she stated, stepping from the stairs, making her presence known. Clark jumped at the sound.
“Rose!” Clark’s cheeks flushed as he turned to face her. He muttered “you’re real, right?”
“What do you mean by that?” Rose smiled softly.
“Nothing,” Clark replied, stepping closer to her. “I’m just glad you’re here.”
“Really?” Rose’s head tilted up to look at him. “I would’ve thought you didn’t want to see me after Whitney did that to you.”
“You knew?”
“I found out at the dance, practically flew halfway across town trying to save you,” Rose searched his eyes, she didn’t realize how close they were. “Turns out you didn’t need saving.”
“You ran from the school to Riley Fields?” He tilted his head, trying to wrap it around the idea.
“I stole Whitney’s van,” Rose smirked. “scraped it a little too.”
“What happened to not wanting to be driven by someone who doesn’t have a license?”
“I was trying to save you!” Rose exclaimed. “Besides, it’s different when it’s me.”
“I wouldn’t trust you behind the wheel. Your road rage is a safety hazard for everyone around you.” They both shared a laugh.
“Listen, Clark,” Rose started. “I’m sorry, I didn’t get there faster.”
“It’s alright you didn’t save me, Rosalie,” He brought his hand up, tucking her hair behind her ear. He admired the blush that crept up her cheeks at his touch. “As long as you saved me that dance.”
“I-I did…”
“Perfect.”
He pulled away, briefly to turn the knob on his stereo. The volume increased as he did so. Clark turned back to Rose, carefully pulling her to him by the waist. Her breath hitched as her chest met his toned middle. With his free hand, he lifted her arm, moving down it to catch her own hand. She placed her left hand on his shoulder, letting him take the lead. She moved closer, eyes fixed on his chest in an attempt to hide her now beet red face. Clark took the opportunity to lean his cheek on her head. Rose closed her eyes, letting herself enjoy the fleeting moment they were sharing. She noted everything, committing it to memory. The smell of his cologne. The way his jaw flexed and relaxed against her temple. His firm, but oddly gentle grip on her waist. His voice as he softly sang along to the lyrics.
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Spooky Skeletons!
- Day 9 of ageretober! (Agere/KidFic)
Little & autistic Tzuyu (4yrs) with Mummy!Jihyo & Mama!Sana
| TW: HURT AND CONFORT |
Enjoy! 🩵
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sana and Jihyo were planning this trip for years and it's finally happening in a month of work. One of Tzuyu's dreams was going to Disney World on Halloween particularly because it wasn't scary like going to neighbourhoods and asking trick or treat and hearing people screaming during the whole afternoon and evening.
They packed every single thing they would need costumes, baby/toddler/little gears, some pull-ups, Tzuyu's snacks, etc...They are staying at the Disney resort, doing activities everyday.
" Tzu come here to Mama! " Sana said waiting for the little girl to get her dressed so they could go to Magic Kingdom. The little girl came almost running on her toes to Sana.
" Mama 'Ook! Mummy made bwaids! " The girl said in a exited whisper, she showed to Sana the two little braids Jihyo just did on her hair.
" They are beautiful Sweetheart! And you look so good with them! " Sana chuckled and got up from the bed starting to dress Tzuyu up.
They were all wearing matching outfits, just with diferent colored Dismey hoodies, Jihyo begged for them to used. Tzuyu wasn't the one to complain she genuinely loved matching with her Mommys, she was wearing sweatpants and felt confortable to be on them the whole day. It's autumn so naturally it is cold and for a Baby like Tzu who feels cold easily it was the perfect outfit for the day.
" Let's go My Loves? " Jihyo asking picking her and Sana's backpack and Tzuyu's to put on the Little one's back.
They went to the big car on the garage and started their way to the park, it was still morning so they would be having a day full of attractions meeting with some characters eating delicious things, more for Sana and Jihyo.
They day went by fast, and the three of them were getting ready in their costumes to go back to the park for the Not So Scary Halloween Party! They were all dressed up as the Teletubbies, Tzuyu was Po, Jihyo was Laa Laa and Sana was Tinky Winky.
As now at night it was more calm then in the morning Tzuyu choose not to were her sound muffler headphones. They party was great and trick or treating was so fun to all of them. The last thing was the Boo To You parade as soon as it started Tzuyu asked for her headphones, she was a little sick of sleepiness, so she was clinging on Jihyo while looking to the parade.
One thing no one was expecting was that th parade had little jump scares, nothing too much h because there were a lot of kids, but Tzuyu was falling to a younger space every minute. The second last parade car was full of dancing skeletons that would get off the car and try scaring some families.
As much as Sana prayed for them to pass by, one stopped right in front of them, Tzuyu looked away rapidly but got scared the same with triggered a panic cry from the little one. Jihyo started bouncing her and tried to calm her down, but it wasn't quite working out, lucky them because Tzuyu did not cried loud but she was shaking, it was a sign to go home...
As much as it hurts a little to go to the Hotel now , they have to sleep and calm a baby down.
Soon when they enter the room, Tzuyu is visibly calmer, just some sniffles and weak sobs.
" Tzu! Come bath with Mama and I baby! " Jihyo picked the girl up going to the bathroom to take a relaxing bath before sleeping time.
Soon they went to sleep, tomorrow would be just as exhausting as today!

The EC Building Competition
A black haired teenager - wearing a dark blue t-shirt with a black hoodie and matching jeans - wielded a sword at an armour stand with a pumpkin on top while a younger brown haired teenager - this one wearing a red shirt with a brown jacket and darker trousers - messed about with a bit of redstone and a daylight sensor, singing gently beneath her breath. Eventually she stopped and turned to grin at the black haired teen, her reddish-brown eyes glinting, "Hey Ivor," She asked, "Would you rather fight a hundred chicken sized zombies or ten zombie sized chickens?"
Stopping for a moment, Ivor thought hard and then said, "Easy zombie sized chickens," And added before the girl could say anything, "Not because I think it would be easy, Ellegaard, but because it'd be an abomination,"
Ellegaard chuckled, "Imagine their giant feet,"
Ivor smiled, "Like I say, an abomination,"
They both chuckled for a moment before Ellegaard turned back to the redstone, "So, I've got a daylight sensor on the roof, and if I've done everything correctly, these lamps should turn on once it gets dark,"
Ivor gave a slightly uninterested hum. Ellegaard continued, "I mean, I didn't want to leave Ruby here with nothing,"
Ivor swung around, "She's coming with us!"
A small grey lamb trotted next to him. Ivor smiled at it before returning his gaze to the girl who raised an eyebrow,
"She is?"
Ivor sighed dramatically, "What kind of question is that?! Of course she is!"
"I'm not saying she shouldn't come, I'm honestly not," Ellegaard said in the way that you would explain to a frustrated toddler that one add one equals two, "I mean.... She just sort of makes us look like amateurs and don't you think it's a little weird you take her everywhere you go?"
Ruby gave an indignant baa. Ivor rolled his eyes, "She's my wing woman! People always want to talk to the guy with the lamb!"
Ellegaard heaved a sigh, "You mean talk about the guy with the cat," She closed her eyes and a small growl noise escaped her.
Ruby bleated in fear.
Ellegaard turned away, "I just don't want to give people another reason to call us losers!"
Ivor put a sympathetic hand on her shoulder.
Ellegaard looked at him, anger burnt out, "I'm sorry," She said quietly, "Forget I said anything. I'm glad she's coming,"
Ivor squeezed her shoulder, "We aren't losers, Ellie, you'll see. And so will everybody else," He chuckled, "Besides, if we lose all the time, it means we win at being losers!"
Ellegaard smiled, "Fine,"
A hissing sound was heard and the two teens froze. Ellegaard took several steps back and Ivor raised his sword. The hissing got louder then,
"BOO!" A creeper head broke through and Ellegaard screamed. Ivor was so startled that he stumbled and dropped his sword. Ruby bleated and jumped at the thing,  giving it a nasty bruise.
"Ow! Ruby get off!" Said an all too familiar voice. Ruby jumped down and the thing removed its mask.
A teen, wearing a green t-shirt and dark camo trousers, with brown hair and mischievous hazel eyes stood before them, shorter than both, albeit a little scratched now. Ivor slapped the teen, to add insult to injury,
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" Then slightly calmer, "Magnus, be glad Gabe wasn't here otherwise you'd have died,"
Magnus laughed, "Trust me, I am,"
"Magnus what is the matter with you?!" Ellegaard practically shrieked. After a few deep breaths, she smiled slightly, "It was rather convincing though,"
"Just another reason to be glad Gabriel isn't here,"
"Did you bring the fireworks?" The girl asked.
"Of course I did! What do you think I am? An idiot?"
The other two teens said in perfect unison, "Yes,"
"Oh," Magnus's smile faltered and then returned, "I brought something for Ruby though!" He pulled out a lamb-sized enderdragon costume. Ivor gasped, took it from the boy and put it on Ruby. The  lamb bleated an attempt at a dragon roar joyfully and ran around.
The teens laughed. Ellegaard and Magnus then went down the ladder while Ivor grabbed a few extra bits and pieces, before heading down himself with Ruby.
***
The other two were waiting for the older teen at the base of the tree. Ruby was still hyper and attempted to scramble down from Ivor's arms.
Said teen put her down and shook his head, earning him an unintentional headbutt to the crotch. He winced, wishing he had an ice pack or something.
Magnus watched the hyper lamb for a moment (making sure his crotch was well protected) and then said that they should get going, the other two nodded their agreement. They walked for a bit in silence, Ellegaard fiddling with the hem of her shirt.
Magnus cleared his throat and said grandly,
"I have news!"
"When don't you?" Ellegaard's face was utterly deadpan.
Ivor snorted.
Magnus rolled his eyes,
"Two parts. Part one, according to my sources, the special guest at Endercon is gonna be Petra the Warrior her-fucking-self!"
"Part two?" Ivor said, oddly calm considering the excitement he was feeling. Magnus stood straighter,
"I hope we win!"
"Why?"
"We'd get to meet her!"
Ellegaard gasped and Ivor's eyebrows reached his hairline.
"Meeting Petra would be a dream come true!" The older teen said.
Ellegaard nodded, "Yeah! She's amazing!" She then added considerately after, "Though not as amazing as Olivia..."
Magnus gave a bark of laughter.
"Ruby better be careful in that costume," he threw a glance to the lamb, who was trotting happily beside the trio, "Last time Petra saw a dragon, it didn't end well."
The group laughed and chatted about meeting Petra the Warrior for while before Ellegaard raised her eyebrows, evidently unimpressed,
"So," she said briskly, "Does this source of yours making posters for a living."
"Ah. Yeah." Magnus's cheeks tinted pink, "My source doesn't exist. You guys are my only friends."
Ivor patted his friend's shoulder. He removed his hand and his eyes lit up as a thought struck him.
"Wait, wait, wait!" He said, rather suddenly, "If we wanna win this, we don't just build something functional. We also build something fun! We build something on top of the fireworks dispenser!"
"Such as..." Magnus prompted.
"An enderman." Ellegaard said.
"Really? Why not a creeper?"
"Because endermen appear out of nowhere."
"But creepers explode!"
"Yes, and-"
"Enough, you two." Ivor said good naturedly, "How about we build a zombie?"
The other two regarded him for a moment, looked at each other, then shrugged.
"Then it's settled."
He put his hand out into the middle and motioned for the others to do the same.
They did so.
"Okay, 'dare to prepare'. On three." Ivor said before shaking his head, "No. 'Preparing is daring'. Ugh! Fine, 'team' on three; one, two, THREE!"
"TEAM!"
***
After a good half an hour of gathering supplies, the trio and the lamb arrived in the clearing of the EC Building Competition.
"I've got to admit," Ellegaard said, "This year I don't just feel confident. I'm ready to win!"
The boys nodded both in agreement and in encouragement.
"Nice sheep, losers."
Said someone from another team.
Magnus made to punch him but Ellegaard was quick to restrain.
Magnus sighed then pointed at the team ahead of them.
"Look, Harper and the Wolves. The rivalry continues."
The Wolves consisted of two girls - one with white hair and wearing a greenish yellow dress, who was talking to the woman at the sign in desk, while the other wore a black and red one and had blue hair - and two boys; one in a dark purple top and darker trousers with bleached white hair, the other in a dark green and gold shirt with black trousers and black hair. All wore a leather jacket with an embroidered wolf on.
"Damn, they've got matching leather jackets!" Ellegaard remarked.
"Oh who cares," Ivor rolled his eyes, "They look like a rookie rock band."
Magnus snorted.
The boy with white hair turned around,
"Well, well, well. Look who's arrived. The Order of the Losers"
The blue haired girl laughed, "Great. Fail squad's here."
The black haired boy laughed, a little uncertainly.
Harper, the white haired girl, sighed impatiently.
"Come on, you three. We'd ought to get ready."
With that and an apologetic look at Ivor, she walked off. Otto (the black haired boy) and Mevia (the blue haired girl) followed; Hadrian gave a final snicker then followed the latter.
Ivor rolled his eyes, a slight redness rising up his cheeks, and guided his team forward to the desk.
"Name?" The woman said.
"Magnus, and a how do you do?"
The woman's expression turned deadpan, "No, your team name."
Ivor heard Magnus curse in Icelandic.
Ivor was tempted to curse him out in Mandarin but was too busy scrambling his brain for a name.
At last, he settled on -
"The Order of the Lamb."
His teammates gave him looks of 'really?' whilst Ruby bleated approvingly, tail wagging.
The woman forced a smile,
"Alright.... Order of the Lambs... You're in booth five." She said hesitantly.
The Order of the Lamb walked forward, Ellegaard blushing and cursing boys 'inability to not embarrassed themselves' in rapid French.
Ivor shoved her.
Ellegaard rolled her eyes, "We'll meet you there."
Ivor rummaged through some (empty) chests. He walked through to booth five where he heard Magnus reluctantly admiring the Wolves building idea.
"They have a freaking beacon. Freaking beacon."
Ellegaard groaned, "And they have stained glass. We're screwed."
Unfortunately, Hadrian seemed to have noticed; he tapped Mevia and Otto on the shoulder and gestured rather obviously with his head toward them.
"Failures are back."
Otto's insult didn't hold much confidence or malice in it but it seemed to do for Hadrian and Mevia. They laughed.
"Oh, good one, Otto." Mevia said.
"We're just looking." Ellegaard said coolly.
"You can look when it wins the competition, missy." Hadrian said.
Magnus folded his arms, "Aren't you a ray of sunshine?" He drawled.
Hadrian's amber eyes landed on Ruby.
"Maybe not all of ya. Endercon doesn't allow outside food or drink."
Ruby flinched away and Ellegaard knelt down and stroked her soothingly,
"C’est bon, petit agneau."
"I'm on about that lamb!"
"We do have brains, Hadrian." Ivor said coming up to the fence, "And Ruby isn't food."
"Coulda fooled me. She looks delicious, champ."
Magnus found himself once again restrained by Ellegaard.
"You'll have to eat me first!"
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that."
"Hadrian," said Harper sternly, "Stop messing around. We have work to do."
Hadrian ground his teeth but stalked off.
Ellegaard breathed a sigh of relief as she let go of a now calm Magnus.
"Hello, you three!" Came a voice.
Ivor turned to see a copper skinned teen with long, unkempt, brown hair and almond shaped brown and grey-blue eyes. He wore a cyan t-shirt, a blue hoodie wrapped around his waist and dark blue jeans. A gold necklace with a diamond pendant hung from his neck. A diamond pickaxe rested on his shoulder.
"Gabriel!" Ivor said in pleasant surprise.
Gabriel made his way over, "Ready for the competition?"
"Ah, we're optimistic-" Magnus said- "If that counts."
Gabriel chuckled in a good natured way.
"Gabriel," Came Harper's voice, making the boy look over, "I did thank you for that nether star, right?"
"Of course, Harper, not a problem." Gabriel said, making his way over to the white haired teen.
"And you did get the payment?"
"Yes, thank you."
"Woah, woah, woah. You helped these guys?" Magnus said, looking betrayed and pointed at Harper, who winced.
Gabriel gave him a reproachful stare,
"For the right price and reason, I'll help anyone, Magnus. And that includes Harper and her friends." He sighed, "Well, I'd best be off. If you needs me, you know where to find me."
Ellegaard rolled her eyes again, "Gabe, no one knows where to find you."
Ivor heard Gabriel laugh but didn't hear anything else.
"Hey, no hard feelings, right?" Harper said to Ivor, "If you're cool with Gabriel, you're cool with us. Or me, at least."
"Sure," Ivor said before placing a hand on his hip, "Just get your friends under control."
Harper sighed, "I do try. Otto is easy enough, he's more of a follower. Mevia and Hadrian... Ehhhhh." She shrugged then smiled, "May the best team win?"
Ivor nodded.
"Alright, teams!" Came a woman's voice. "On your marks, get set, BUILD!"
***
The fireworks machine and zombie statue took long than expected but, in Ivor's opinion, worth it.
The Order of the Lamb stood proudly on top of their build.
"Okay, maybe a zombie was the right decision." Ellegaard said, a grin on her face.
Ivor smirked smugly, "Told you so."
"Don't get smug."
Below them, Hadrian snarled,
"What's so special about a load of dyed wool?!"
In his fury, he smashed someone else's build, causing lava to ooze slowly toward the zombie. And Ruby.
"Guys, look!" Magnus gasped at a terrified bleat, pointing at the lava.
Ivor spun around, "RUBY!" He stomped his foot, "That jerk set Ruby on fire!"
"We gotta save the build!" Magnus said.
"Magnus, you idiot, Ruby is on fire!" Ellegaard said.
"You guys stay here," Ivor said, "I'll go after Ruby."
He leapt down and ran for the woods
