📧 Day 84 -
Characters - Jimmy + Tango (ft. Joel, Etho) Words - 1,238 Time - 55 mins Content - Alternative Universe
Jimmy and Tango spent the whole morning, and stayed up late last night, preparing for Rev's first birthday party. Jimmy was still anxious about it, despite Rev knowing all their friends and being friendly with them, it was still a gamble how he'd react once everyone was together. Tango did his part to calm him down with a lighthearted jokes and pokes, but Jimmy was unable to ignore the tension on his shoulders.
Fluffed up wings and sharp tail flickers.
They still went to sleep in the same bed, cuddled up and soothing the worry from each other. Rev was excited when they first told him, and they could only hope it would remain.
Joel was the first to come, Hermes dashing ahead and Tom in his arms. Hermes held out a tray of cookies, a smile bright on his face as Joel followed behind, holding another tray.
"Hey bud," Jimmy greeted, a small wave of relief washing over him. He took the tray from him, then looked behind his shoulder, gesturing to the back. "Rev's playing back there. Go ahead."
Hermes jumped excitedly, running past him, trails of gold left in his path. He followed him with his gaze before another set of footsteps approached, looking up to see Joel smirking.
"Before you know it, they're off to college," Joel said with an eye-roll.
They caught up a little as they walked inside the house, Tango still dashing around to finish the decorations. As soon as he saw them enter, Tango walked over, taking the other tray from Joel's hands.
"You shouldn't have," Tango smiled, eyeing the tray Jimmy was holding.
Joel shrugged. "Hermes wanted to."
While the pair finished decorating and cleaning up, Joel preoccupied with the baby in his arms, mostly cooing at him and making fun of Jimmy. Golden feathers and fiery wisps danced around the place, messy and clashing, almost bumping onto each other, but it was clear that they worked well together. Joel stayed out of their way, turning Tom and pointing at the trails of colors, smiling when the baby made grabby hands at them.
The rest of TIES were the next to show up, and unlike Joel, they did offer hands. Mostly to prepare the outside, taking chairs and setting up the grills. Skizz and Impulse happily helped while Etho fought off a baby clinging to him, aided by a smug Joel.
Cleo and Scott arrived shortly after with some drinks—Martyn, Scar and Bdubs with a handful boxes of water-guns and balloons and other toys. Pearl, BigB and Gem were next, bringing some more food. Ren and Lizzie brought more toys, and nearly two hours after Joel's arrival, Grian showed up.
And with Grian's arrival, and subsequent surprise attack of water-guns and water-balloons on him, the party started.
Rev happily joined right beside Hermes, a fighting spirit bright on them. Everyone was fighting for themselves, and it was a quick mess that left the ground a muddy mess.
Tango, for obvious reasons, sat out the fight. Etho joined him shortly after, the little enderman seated on his shoulders and grasping on his hair. They filled the balloons with powder dye, their fingers quickly staining. Tom giggled when Etho raised his hand to pinch his face lightly, leaving some dye on his skin.
"First year, huh?" Tango sighed, shaking his head before looking out to the field. His eyes were quick to locate the toddler warden, hidden behind a demi-god hidden behind Jimmy, his wings spread wide to protect them. He laughed behind his fist as Joel and Martyn went straight for his head.
Etho hummed.
The air was filled with laughter and screaming, water jumping everywhere, and the inflatable pool Martyn had blew and filled was nearly empty. The tap was running constantly, and at some point, Joel even got hold of the hose, spraying everyone before he was tackled away from it.
"Doing anything for the anniversary?"
Tango held Tom's hands before turning to Etho, raising a brow in question.
"Five years? Is it not? Maybe I'm remembering wrong?"
At that, Tango frowned, still confused. "Who's turning five?"
"Oh, no. I mean, you and Jimmy, your five year anniversary?"
Oh.
Tango turned back to face Tom, the little baby cooing and shrilling. He smiled, brushing his cheek with the back of his index. The enderman's skin was cool against his blaze warmth.
"I don't think we're… doing anything special? Do you think we should?"
Tango looked at him, long enough to see him shrug. Not that Etho was the right person to ask, but Etho was the one who brought it up. Just as he opened his mouth to say something else, someone landed behind him, approaching quickly. A chill ran down his body as cold skin touched him, lips pressed against his temple.
"Hey," Jimmy whispered, and Tango looked up at him, momentarily surprised before smiling. "Uh, Scar and Bdubs got hurt. Where's the kit?"
Tango snorted, shaking his head. "Kitchen. Far left cabinet."
Jimmy grinned, messing Tom's hair before impulsing himself to the house. Tango followed him until he disappeared through the door, then he looked at the group, the play frozen as Scar and Bdubs laid in the middle.
"Hey, Etho. This anniversary thing," Tango spoke as Tom made grabby hands to him, and he handed him over, "what… what exactly are you supposed to do? Like, uh, is it like a romantic getaway or something like that?"
Etho gave him a weird look, squeezing one of the dye balloons as Tom smacked them. "Yes…?"
"And… what if, say, we aren't?"
Etho's eyes widened slightly, but nothing really changed. "No…?"
Tango gave a small nod, slowly turning to face the crowd again. Familiar golden wings joining the fray before they tended to the pair. On the side, Joel was holding Rev and Hermes' hands, lifting them up as they all laughed.
And Jimmy joined them shortly after, taking Rev from him and scolding him. Joel picked Hermes up, turning his head away. They argued some, too far to hear any words.
"It changes nothing, you know," Etho said, shaking Tango out of his empty thoughts. He turned to him, watching him stand up with Tom in arms. "You have a ranch and a child together already. Who cares about specifics."
Tango watched Etho walking away, promptly joining the crowd. Tom teleported around before landing on Jimmy's right wing. Joel took his time to take the little one, very smug as Tom slid down, still holding tight onto the feathers. When Joel finally took Tom, the little one curled up in his arms.
Rev sensed his staring, looking around before Jimmy noticed, kneeling down to talk to him. After a gesture, Rev began his uncertain walk. Joel had a hand on Hermes' head, letting Rev do the journey on his own.
He smiled, purrs and hisses filling the air. And Rev perked up, speeding up as he followed the sounds, and soon enough, he was in his arms.
Once the injured pair were bandaged up, a round of food went around. Then later in the day, another round of fights broke, this time, with the dye balloons. Jimmy was quick by his side, Rev leading their team proudly.
They would tell their friends later, they had agreed after a brief conversation behind a tree. For the time being, they just needed to get better at aiming.

No bc george would be soooooo insanely protective over his baby girl, please do a story about george being sooo protective over his little baby girl ❤️❤️
oh, absolutely!
george adores her.
and he never thought he'd love anyone as much as he loved yn... until his little girl came into the world, with a healthy set of lungs on her, in the early hours of a friday morning. he felt his heart double in size at the sight of his girlfriend holding their newborn baby, in a hospital bed on the midwifery floor of a hospital located in just outside of the centre of london, and it was a sight he never wanted to forget.
from the moment they brought her home, snoozing in her carseat and tucked beneath a blanket with her name stitched into the corner, he was careful with everything he did; from the way he held her, to the way he laid her to sleep in her cot, to the way he picked her up, to the way he fed her. he kept a watchful eye on everyone that held her to make sure they held her correctly, informing them when he wasn't happy with how her head wasn't being supported correctly or how they were being too loud around her, and he was always very weary about those wanting to get a peek at her when they were out in the city of london... he wanted to keep her safe, wanted her to be okay, and his dad instincts were in full swing as soon as they were allowed home with her.
so when she got to the age where she was walking and, just about, talking... he was even more watchful than ever. especially when her favourite people were over.
for her second birthday, they threw her a mini birthday party in their back garden. with food, drinks and enough toys and games to keep everyone entertained and happy, and the weather managed to hold out for them, making it the most perfect day to celebrate.
"please don't throw her around like last time," george warns arthur as he stood there with his hands held up in surrender, "and don't claim you can't remember a thing. she had a big egg on her head for over a week."
"that wasn't strictly my fault," arthur insists and george rolls his eyes, "it wasn't! honest."
"george, leave him alone, for goodness sake. i'm sure he's still a bit traumatised by what happened," yn states, rounding the corner with their little girl on her hip and watching as her face lit up from where arthur was standing in the entryway of their home, "who's that, sweet girl? is that uncle television?"
"i really need a new nickname," arthur says, reaching forward and taking the toddler from her mother's hip which allowed yn the chance to move around much more easily, taking the extra weight from her side, "hello, mini clarkey."
"everyone's already here, in the garden, grab a chair from the dining room because we don't have enough out there," george closes the door as the three of them make their way through the house, aromas of meat cooking as well as spices and the smell of a barbecue filling the air, "don't go mucking around on the bouncy castle with her, too. yn insisted we had it for her birthday but i'm not so sure."
"a bouncy castle? that's a nightmare waiting to happen with us lot in the garden," arthur cackles and yn smirks in his direction, "get a few drinks in us and we'll be having more fun than the birthday girl."
george disappears into the garden, leaving yn and arthur standing in the kitchen, the toddler on his hip playing with the collar of his shirt as she wriggled on his hip.
"just ignore him, he's just being protective over her. another year has flown by."
"i'm not called funcle for nothing," arthur laughs and digs his fingers into the little girl's side, laughing when she giggled back at him, "shall we go play in the garden?"
"food will be ready soon, don't wear her out too much otherwise she'll fall asleep in her dinner."
"like father, like daughter," arthur jokes and yn snickers at him, "if you need help, give me a shout." xx

Word Count - 3201 Words
“Absolutely not, Feyre. No way. Not a chance!” Rhysand insisted for the third time in less than an hour. He may love his mate to the end of his existence and beyond, but his patience was becoming increasingly limited.
It didn’t help Feyre’s case that she was attempting to have this rather alarming conversation whilst Rhys was turning his office upside down, trying to locate an important document that had escaped his attention.
“Why not?” Feyre begged, bouncing her son energetically on her hip and following Rhys across the room as he frantically searched through his neatly arranged files, papers flying everywhere.
“I am not spending a weekend in the woods with half our inner circle, a toddler, and Lucien freaking Vanserra!” Rhys huffed.
“Okay, first of all, it’s not half the inner circle; it’s my sisters and their mates - one of whom happens to be your brother!” Feyre stated plainly, rolling her eyes at her mate’s usual dramatics. “Secondly, I thought you and Lucien were okay now?”
“Well, yes, okay to share dinner and a drink with, not to huddle around a campfire, darling”, he groaned.
“Daddy’s grumpy,” Nyx said to Feyre, hiding a giggle behind his tiny hands. Rhys stuck his tongue out to his son, of course, he would take his mother’s side. The cheeky baby just blew a raspberry back in response.
“I really think this could be good for us, Rhys,” Feyre tried again, ignoring her two boys’ antics and glancing over at her mate’s desk. “I love our lives, and the responsibility we have for this court, but even the High Lord and Lady need a break from time to time. We’ve barely seen each other the past few weeks,”
Feeling the twinges of guilt starting to gnaw at his gut, Rhys looked from his son to his wife just in time to see her pull the exact paper he needed from his desk with knowing eyes. He supposed he had been overdoing it a little the last month or so. Sighing, he reached for the paper with one hand and hooked an arm around Feyre’s waist with the other.
“I know things have been busy at the moment, but once this treaty is drafted and we’ve managed to convince everyone to sign it, then I’m all yours again, darling,”
“You need a break, Rhys,” Feyre sighed.
“When I do eventually go back to it, I’m able to see exactly what I need to do to make it work better,” Feyre said gently, looking at Rhys with such care and warmth in her eyes. “Clearly, all this extra work has your head muddled if you couldn’t find a paper right there on your desk. Give yourself a break, and come back with fresh eyes. The treaty will be all the better for it.”
“And what about Nyx? We can’t take him off into the woods. He’s too young,” Rhys replied, stroking his son’s cheek as he looked at his father with such innocent and loving eyes.
“Mor said she will happily babysit for a couple of days,”
“Aunty Mor! Aunty Mor!” Nyx squealed, clapping his pudgy hands together in excitement.
“You’d love that, wouldn’t you, baby? A whole weekend with Aunty Morrigan,” Feyre said to her son, tickling his round tummy.
Rhysand walked over to his plush velvet couch and flopped down theatrically.
“But why can’t we just throw him an obnoxiously large party like a normal Fae male. Why does it have to be in a forest?”
“Because Elain wanted to plan something special for the first birthday he’ll celebrate as part of a mated couple. She knows he loves the outdoors and thought it would be a great opportunity for us all to go on a family trip. Please, Rhys! Do it for me!”
“Oh, for caldron’s sake! Fine. But I’m not sharing a tent with Cass, no matter how much he begs!” Rhys insisted, giving his mate the most adorable of pouts.
Two weeks later, with a backpack full of supplies and her mate in tow, Feyre sludged through the thick mud and jumped over the tree roots which lay intertwined on the forest floor. Rhysand followed behind her, much less enthusiastically clambering through the woods, a solemn look upon his face, as his wife continued to drag him by the hand, and they fell behind the rest of their group.
Lucien and Elain were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, leading the group with an impressive energy that Rhys believed could only be explained by their newly formed bond. No one could possibly be that excited to trudge through the woods, he thought. Bouncing along the woodland route, Lucien had not stopped talking for the five hours they’d been walking. Elain was practically skipping alongside him, giving him her most rapt attention.
In typical fashion, Cassian and Nesta, who lingered in the middle of the pack, had spent the day jumping between arguing uncontrollably and restraining themselves from ripping each other’s clothes off. Rhys swore to himself on hour three that if he caught one more scent of their arousal upon the wind, he would winnow himself and Feyre right back home, damn the consequences.
Elain had chosen the Erebus forest on the border between the courts of Night and Day because it was known for its beautiful pathways and glittering lakes. The trees were still lush with leaves despite the autumn days creeping in, leaving the landscape rich with burnished gold, deep russet and warm copper foliage. The most extensive woodland in the entirety of the Night Court, the Erebus forest was the centre of a vast amount of local folklore, much of which Rhysand had been told by his mother in childhood. Tales of devious tricksters and terrifying beasts that prowled the woods were passed down through generations of Night Court young. As the High Lord over this territory, though, Rhysand had never found evidence to suggest that these stories were anything more than myths which warned children against getting lost in such a dense forest.

Rhysand’s poor mood was punctuated by the slow and steady drip drip drip of rain. “I knew this was a terrible idea,” Rhys mumbled, slicking his damp hair out of his eyes.
“Rhysand!” Feyre exclaimed, stopping dead in her tracks with a venomous look in her eyes and raindrops dripping off the end of her nose. “You survived the blood rite, have fought in some of the deadliest battles in Prythian’s history, and have literally been brought back from death, yet a bit of rain is sending you over the edge?”
Rhysand looked at his muddy feet, raindrops dripping from his eyelashes in shame. He may be hating every moment of this trip, but he could not stand the thought of letting his wife down.
“I didn’t have a choice with those things. I did them to survive. This is supposed to be … fun,” he grimaced, shivering on the spot. “Why can’t we just winnow to a camping spot?”
“You know why. Lucien and Elain have asked we do everything authentically. No magic.”
“Urgh,” he groaned like a petulant child.
“Rhys, I love you so much, but I need you to stop whining! You’re driving me mad,” Feyre begged, feeling dangerously close to the end of her tether.
“Hey, I think this would be a good place to stop and set up camp,” Lucien shouted, interrupting Feyre’s tense glare. Replacing her frown with a smile, she once again grabbed Rhysand’s hand and dragged him along.
It took Rhys and Feyre roughly forty minutes to pitch their tent. Twice as long as Cassian and Nesta, who, after high-fiving and giving one another a delighted grin, sat back and critiqued everyone else’s technique.
The copse of trees under which they set up camp didn’t do much to shield them from the rain that was teaming down in buckets. Still, once the storm began to subside and a fire was built, they could at least start warming themselves.
Rhysand had decided for his mate, and his mate alone, he would try to seem more enthusiastic. So when Lucien suggested he could teach the other two males how to catch fish from a nearby river with their bare hands, Rhys was the first to roll up his sleeves and jump in the freezing water.
Feyre and her sisters, who chose to watch in amusement from the edge of the water, did not even attempt to stifle their laughter. After all, you rarely get front-row seats to watch the High Lord of the Night Court and his general splash around aggressively in water to bolster their male pride.
Lucien was successful in his endeavour and caught a good amount of sizeable fish, which would easily fill the bellies of the entire group. Cassian and Rhys, however, were slightly less successful. Cassian had managed to catch a fish, but it was barely as big as his thumb. Rhys, on the other hand, had caught everything but a fish. An old boot, several empty bottles of fae wine and numerous twigs now lined the bank of the river and stared mockingly at Rhysand, who was beginning to doubt his own skills.
Feyre was right. He had survived much worse conditions than this, he’d even been through much more severe forms of camping than this. During the blood rite, he had been separated from his brothers and had to fight his way back to them, all whilst trying to keep himself alive in the process. He hadn’t thought twice about it back then. He was getting too comfortable with his life in Velaris. Getting used to the calm of a post-war Prythian. Yes, he and his mate had piles of work to keep them busy, treaties to sign, and alliances to make, but all in all, they were in an excellent position, a period of great contentment. That thought made Rhysand’s stomach squeeze. He should not, could not, let himself get complacent.
From then on, Rhysand decided to utilise this trip as an opportunity to re-engage with his survival instincts. Perhaps he could even learn a trick or two from his Autumn Court companion. He would never admit it to Lucien, but some sly observation of his obvious skills would harm no one. And, if his active participation in the group kept his mate happy, then Rhys was even more convinced to oblige.
With his newfound vigour, Rhysand pulled Feyre into his lap whilst dinner was roasted over the campfire. Her suspicions about her mate's sudden change of heart soon disappeared as the fae wine that Elain had snuck into her travel sack began to flow, and laughter echoed around the campsite.
A few hours later, giddy from the wine and encouraged by the slowly setting sun, Rhysand dipped his head into the crook of his mate's neck and began to plant gentle kisses against her soft skin. Within seconds, Feyre turned in his lap, eyes alight with craving, and her lips pressed against his own. His hands slid down her spine and cupped her backside as he let out a low groan.
Just as Rhys slipped his tongue between Feyre's parted lips, the lovers were jerked harshly back into reality by an unamused Nesta.
“For the love of the mother, please stop before I puke up the remains of dinner,” Nesta drawled, giving her sister a pointed look.
“Oh come on, Nesta, as though you and Cass haven’t been giving each other sex eyes all night,” Feyre laughed, as Cassian shrugged in agreement, and Nesta elbowed him in the side.
“At least we are holding back until we get to the tent,” Nesta retorted, raising one eyebrow in a blatant challenge.
Although the sisters were debating who the horniest couple was, there was none of the bitterness that used to linger between them. Since Nyx’s birth, Feyre and Nesta had worked on repairing the fractured parts of their relationship, and though things had been tentative for a while, this sisterly teasing was a clear step in the right direction.
Rhysand’s heart swelled for his mate. He knew just how much this newly developing relationship meant to her, and from the warm smile radiating from his brother, he could tell it meant a lot to Nesta, too.
“All that steamy smut you read and your sister sharing one kiss with her mate is sending you over the edge?” Feyre retorted, a quizzical grin brightening her beautiful face.
“That smut doesn’t require me to watch my sister getting her ass squeezed!” Nesta huffed, amusement sparkling in her eyes.
“Pfft, as if Elain and I aren’t painfully aware that you and Cassian have fucked on every available surface in the House of Wind,”
An awkward cough interrupted the quick retort that was teetering on the edge of Nesta’s lips, and all eyes swung to Cassian, who was rubbing the back of his neck in evident discomfort.
“I hate to break it to you ladies,” Cassian said, low and quiet, as though he was revealing his most precious of secrets. “But I don’t think either of you is the Archeron sister that needs worrying about!”
Nesta and Feyre, along with their mates, all readjusted their gazes towards Elain, who was sat in her mate’s lap, sharing kisses and sensually moving her fully clothed hips against his. She was blissfully ignorant to her sister’s shock as Lucien’s hands slid up both sides of her dress, and she threw back her head in pleasure, allowing him to kiss down her exposed neck towards her chest.
“Oh gods, that’s enough socialising for today. I’m going to bed!” Nesta cried, almost tripping over herself in an effort to unsee what was now burned deeply into her mind.
“Yeah, good plan. Great plan!” Feyre squeaked, cheeks getting hotter by the second, as her desire to winnow away as far as possible grew exponentially.
Rhysand had to laugh as his mate clumsily hurried away towards the tent. What did she expect going away with a freshly mated couple? Even if the initial frenzy had eased off, the first year of a new bond was filled with passion and numerous instances where all rational thought went out of the window. Even now, three years after his own mating bond was cemented, Feyre and Rhys often struggled to resist each other.
Catching up to Feyre, Rhys wrapped his arms around his mate's middle and tucked his head into her neck, nipping at her earlobe.
“I didn’t know you were so easy to make blush, my love,” Rhys chuckled in her ear.
“I didn’t expect to see my sister dry-humping her mate tonight, that’s all,” Feyre replied, laughing too.
"Let's go for a walk, Darling," Rhys purred.
Feyre turned in his arms, a sly grin on her face as she clasped Rhysand's hand in her own, and together, they wandered deeper into the woods, away from the prying ears of their fae brethren.
Breathless from excitement, Rhys twirled his mate towards him, picked her up and pushed her against a nearby tree. As their lips met, teeth clashing in their eagerness, Feyre scraped her nails against Rhysand’s scalp in the way she knew always made the male shiver with anticipation.
Rhys nipped and sucked at Feyre’s lower lip, sliding his hands under her thick jumper and lazily working them up her body. Tracing the bottom of her lacy bra around to the back, Rhys was moments away from undoing the clasp when a sharp sound perforated the heated silence of the woods.
The snap of the twig had the lovers on instant high alert. Rhys tried to reassure himself that perhaps it was just one of the other couples from their party, who, like Feyre and himself, felt like a midnight tryst under the stars. But then, in the distance, a soft flickering light melted through the frigid black of night.
“What is that?” Feyre faltered, peering around her mate’s shoulder to better see the potential danger ahead.
"I don't know, but it's coming this way. Perhaps it's time to leave." Rhys replied, gripping Feyre's waist more firmly but lowering her to the ground to give her the chance to run if needed.
As the light drew ever closer, it became apparent that the source of light did not come from the lamp of another weary traveller or even as the result of a predator out in the dead of night ready to catch some unsuspecting prey. Instead, it appeared that the glow was produced by a small, illuminated, floating creature.
"Fireflies?" Feyre asked, squinting into the distance. The couple's fae hearing picked up the sound of tiny wings fluttering against the brisk autumn air as the light danced closer.
"No, they look like-"
"Butterflies!" Feyre gasped as dozens of dazzling butterflies swirled around them like autumn leaves on the breeze, leaving a gleaming trail in the path behind them.
Feyre reached out a hand and let out a small laugh as one of the creatures landed on her index finger, its magic bouncing off her own, sending a warm tingle throughout her body.
Then, as quickly as the golden butterflies appeared, they began to drift off and were, one by one, swallowed by the shadows. Only the gentle butterfly on Feyre's hand remained, casting a glow that lit her face with wonder.
Slowly taking flight, the beautiful creature seemed to beckon Feyre to follow it deeper into the woods. Feyre felt in her very soul that it was of the utmost importance that she went with it, and she shared this thought with her mate. Rhysand, however, was uncertain. He scoured his memory for any recollection of a creature quite like this, with luminous wings and a beckoning pull, but he came up short. The only tale he could remember was of the Will-o'-the-wisp, tricky little beasts who masqueraded as distant lamp lights, only to deceive weary travellers into getting lost, often leading them into mortal danger, delivering them to foul monsters who would gladly tear them apart. But, in all the stories he had heard of these characters, they had never taken the form of such placid creatures.
"Come on," Feyre beamed, striding forward, sparkling eyes wide.
"Feyre no!" Rhys replied, reaching a hand out towards her, but he merely blinked, and his mate had disappeared into the inky night.

muses: sage franklin and yasemin dogan
location: franklin residence, maggie's third birthday.
Three years was a big deal — at least, that's what she had told Maggie from the moment she woke up that morning, the tiny blonde toddler that was growing not-so-tiny-anymore each day already bouncing with impatience at the idea of people and presents and possibly even s'mores. The joy of having a summer birthday, Sage couldn't help but chuckle. Everything had been prepped the week before thanks to Asher's help, and all that was left was to welcome the guest that seeped into the backyard during the hour of the party's start time. Kids of friends and friends of those kids and kids of those friends of kids weaved in and out of the adults in the backyard, sticky with sugary popsicles they'd already inhaled as they waited for the cake to usher in the real party. One nearly toppled the older blonde over as she snatched Maggie up who was trailing behind some of the older ones, the now three-year-old screeching giggles that echoed throughout the suburban backyard as Sage grinned and popped the toddler on her hip, starting a speech about how many popsicles were too many popsicles before dinner. Then, the sound of the backdoor slid open, Asher's excited greeting loud and muffling the sound of her heart thudding against her chest as she caught sight of the person that joined the party. Maggie wriggled to be let down and, distracted, Sage set her to the ground, barely even noting when the tiny blonde ran off with her pack of friends once more. It'd been a year, yet there she was. Yasemin. It was only when dark hues met her light ones that her gaze dropped to something she deemed way more interesting than the newcomer, focusing on steadying her breathing before anyone nearby bothered to pick up on just how thrown she was. Why was Yasemin there? Since when was she in town? And most importantly, was she thinking of the kiss they'd shared at that same barbeque just a year before in a hallway that had seen so many more of their fumbled kisses in the past? The thought had her cheeks reddening and on her way to find something to distract herself with, she grabbed a beer from the cooler and popped the top. At least she'd have something to blame the flush in her cheeks on, right? Wrong. The flush only deepened when she almost tripped, full force, into the one person she was intent on avoiding at the moment and she hadn't even taken more than a sip from the bottle. "Shoot, sorry, I..." Sage fumbled for words in the other's presence, finally settling on a soft, "hey."

Mrs. Spider - School Meal Club
"DaChaeTzu decided to spend the afternoon outside in the backyard playing any games that came to mind, but when Chae found something that caught her eye they decided to take it inside the house when they were called at lunchtime, during naptime Dahyun decided to keep it on her bed with her but soon their Mama found their newest acquisition and made them put it back outside since she almost suffered a heart attack"
word count ─ 1.2k
tags ─ little! school meal club, baby! tzu, baby! chaeng, toddler! dubu, mommy! jeong, mama! nay, autumn, backyard, crawly critters, bugs, spider
notes ─ This is for the Spider prompt, if we are talking about bugs we know Dubu has to be present. I wrote this in record time, today I spent a good portion of my afternoon-evening at my nibbling’s birthday party, so I only had so little time to write it but as always I don't feel good if I don’t write the prompt for the day. Please enjoy :3
After they had finished eating their breakfast the girls wanted to go out and play in their backyard, Mommy had promised they could go and play there if the weather wasn’t that cold, so they let her know “Go pway now p’ease?” asked Chae looking over where their eommas were sitting, “It’s cold outside if you go out then you will get sick” informed their Mama with an apologetic face.
ChaeTzu started pouting since they really wanted to go out and play, their eommas were suggesting different activities that they could do inside, thankfully Dahyun the savior came to the rescue, “But Mommy said if not too cold, we could pway” debated Dub, “an’ Sana unnie teach me to know if too cold or no. Here say 2 an’ 3 which means no too cold”.
“And exactly when it’s too cold?” asked Mama, “Mommy say start wif’ 1 no go out” responded Dubu, "Pway now?" asked Tzu with hopeful eyes, with a sigh and an accusatory look their Mama told them that they could go out and play, but first they needed to get out of their pajamas.
The adults helped the babies get into warm but comfy clothes so they could run to their heart's content, while the kids played in the backyard the adults would be watching tv in the living room to be close enough.
The first thing they did was gather the fallen leaves into a big pile and jump into it, they repeated the action several times until they got tired of it, then they decided to play on the playset that Mommy with the help of Hyo had built. Climbing, sliding and swinging they spent a good portion of their morning playtime in there, they played as if they were a dragon, princess and a knight, making up stories about why the princess was traped in the tower, or why the dragon wasn´t really bad, even about how the knight wasn’t really brave.
That was until their attention shifted elsewhere, Chaeng got distracted by something hanging from one of the playset’s supports, it was a tiny black thing that was making beautiful patterns with some translucent string, and being the art lover she is, watching the little critter was entrancing. Soon she was joined by her sisters that were looking for her, they didn’t understand what she was doing instead of playing with them, “What doing?” asked Tzu looking the same direction as Chae but having no luck locating whatever caught her sister's attention, Dubu also wanted to know so she repeated the question, “Chaengie what you looking?".
Putting a finger to her lips she pointed with her other hand to where the little creature kept making art for it’s audience, and whispered “Wook, pwetty” - if this was a comic you would be able to watch the shimmer on Chaengie’s eyes at the greatness of it -, finally DaTzu could watch the same thing as their middle sister. After watching it for a few minutes they could understand why Chaeng was so focused on it, “What that?” questioned Tzu trying to know what was the name of the creature that was capable of doing such art, using her unnie knowledge Dub answered, “Is a spider, I has a book ‘bout it”.
After her sisters' insistence, Dahyun went inside to fetch her book about bugs to read all the facts about the majestic spider, when she came back with it they sat under the cobweb to read all about their new friend, stopping to inform it about what they were reading, Dubu was thankful for her sister insistence on telling the spider all about the latest facts they were learning since she wasn't a strong reader yet. But who could blame her, she was barely 3 years old and still had so much time to get better at reading, most of what she was telling her baby sisters was from her memories of Mommy or one of her unnies reading it to her.
Their quality time with their new friend was cut short when Mama called them inside to eat lunch, not wanting to part ways with it they put the spider inside a jar with little holes on the lid to allow it to breathe, and hid it in one of their hoodies to take it to their room later. Throughout lunch, they talked about the many stories they invented while playing, how they played in leaf piles, and how they were reading under the playset's shadow, leaving out all the information about their newest friend who was hiding inside Dahyun's hoodie.
Soon after they finished eating their eommas informed them about the fact that nap time had come along, without much fuss the babies made grabby hands asking to be carried over to their room, while Mama and Mommy diapered up the babies Dubu went to use the potty, not before hiding Mrs. Spider - that’s the name the girls decided for their friend - under her covers.
Once she was back her Mama helped her get into a Pull-Up since she was still accident-prone while sleeping, soon after Mommy came back with some milk, 1 bottle of banana milk for Tzu, 1 bottle of strawberry milk for Chaengie, and a sippy cup filled with chocolate milk for Hyunnie; while they drank their milk Mama and Mommy sang a lullaby for them, 2 lullabies later the three girls were asleep.
The adults had gone back to the living room to wait while the kids had their nap, but as soon as they reached their destination they remembered that they hadn’t taken the bottles - and sippy cup - back, and if they let them there it was almost a fact that they would spill over and soak the beds. Nayeon was the one tasked to retrieve them since Jeongyeon was the one who prepared them, she made quick action of picking them up and replacing them with pacifiers in the girls' mouths to avoid finger-sucking, but what she found Dahyun cuddling made her run from the room while screaming.
Back in the living room Jeong heard her girlfriend's screams and went to find her, they collided in the hallway where Nay clung to Jeong's shirt crying, when she was able to calm down Jeong asked what had happened, “Dahyun, she had a… a jar with a… a spider inside!! I swear its many eyes all were looking at me” cried out Nay, “She is cuddling the jar Jeongie!! “We can’t let her keep it!!” added Nay before hugging her girlfriend once again.
When nap time was over, they explained to the girls how they couldn't keep their new friend trapped in a jar inside the house, the girls made their discontent known at their decision, but once their Mama told them how Mrs. Spider would miss their family they let it out back in the backyard waving goodbye and telling it how it would be missed.
And they promised not to bring anything inside before letting either Mommy or Mama know about it, to avoid Mama having a near heart attack again.

Welcome to Mt. Cavaro! Pt. 1
This mountain plateau was once nothing but a small seasonal hunting town. Over the last 50 years however, developers took notice of the potential of this location and now, it is a bustling upcoming town. Families and sims have moved in droves to start business opportunities or to take advantage of those who are. Some however, are just enjoying the quiet scenic views and good people.
Simply explaining and showing the Community lots in each of my districts. Business, Entertainment & Residential. I will be showing the Families in Detail in Pt. 2

Speedway Motors | Ahan and Navya Bhatt's first dip into the world of business owning, buying an old rundown shed and turning it into a Car Dealership! It only has cheaper locomotives but they still run fine!… most of the time.

Apologies for not taking Screenshots of the exterior/Interior of each lot, I didn't want to bog down this post TO much (Even though I believe its already pretty beefy. I simply wanted to share what community lots are in my hood. I will be playing this town rotationally and posting what happens, if that interests you I'd love for you to follow this blog and join me on this journey :)

I forgot about her birthday coming up. The surprise party he threw for her last year was so sweet, but I think we only got one video from it? So I wonder if we’ll see much at all this time.
I’m hoping we’ll see them more often once they’re back in NYC, their group of friends located there seem to post more. They also have toddlers/babies, which I imagine is why we haven’t seen much from their other friends.
I think we got one video and one pic from Mia's birthday last year. But that's better than nothing.
Darren and Mia have friends with little kids in LA. That's they reason I was surprised we didn't see more of them. I expected friends come by and post about the new baby, but if they visited, they didn't post.
When they are back in New York, we might not get anything private, but we will get MHE promo. I'm looking forward to that.

TIMING: A few weeks ago. Before nice™Alan. LOCATION: A construction project, west of Wicked’s Rest PARTIES: Alan @alan-duarte & Alex @letsbenditlikebennett SUMMARY: Alan and Alex meet in one of the realtor’s construction projects. Barking ensues. CONTENT WARNINGS: Parental death (mentioned)
Gatlin Fields were not nearly as developed as the rest of the town, and though a lot of people enjoyed this endless expanse of grass and wheat, the rural smell of manure, or driving behind cattle heading back to the barn (Alan included), Wicked’s rest needed to expend, especially with the Serpent’s flat covering now a fifth of it.
He had bought a large lot of land up there, and the city council had agreed to the construction of over two hundred homes. The local taxes would bring a lot of money to their pockets, Alan, in the meantime, would get even more with each plot he’d sell to buyers. That was, if defenders of the toads (this still irked him to no avail), finally decided to fuck off from the bog and let the servicing of the land happen.
Parking the Maserati on the side of the road, he had gone to the trunk to trade his italian leather brogues with rubber boots and put on his colorful Cotopaxi rain jacket, a birthday present from his sister that while it clashed with his aesthetic, was too pretty to stay in the closet.
Walking up to the lot of protestors, who, he had no doubt, would reek of cheap marijuana and alternative bathing methods, the man ignored the booing and crossed his arms over his chest. “Who is in charge?” His stern, no bullshit tone, he hoped would deter them from being sassy. All he wanted was to get back to the car before it started to rain. Those dark clouds couldn’t be announcing anything good.
As Alex looked over the signs she’d stayed up all night painting with a couple of classmates looked great, but the last minute effort had left her feeling especially drained as she twirled the cold brew coffee in her reusable around before she took a gulp. Some of the other students came to show her their signs and she smiled in kind. “Looks great,” she laughed, “and we have a pretty good turn out.”
It was about time to gather everyone to pep them up and remind them why they were here, but Alex could hear footsteps approaching that were heavier approaching. The voice that followed caused her features to harden into a glare until she faced the man who sounded ready to lecture her. “That’d be me,” she responded as she crossed her arms over her chest as she looked the older man over, “Let me guess, you’re the connard in charge of building the tacky houses.”
“Alan Duarte,” he gave the girl a smile, smoothing out his tie against his crisp white shirt before crossing his arms again. The French bit was intriguing. Québec or France? He wouldn’t have been able to tell, but still, he wondered. Either way, he wasn’t really gonna let that impress him at all. Of course, there wasn’t much that impressed him. Alan had worked hard to make sure he’d always been one step ahead, and these people… Certainly he did not have to look so jaded about them, but weren’t they the fucking cliché. What a sorry pathetic bunch of hemp cultists, the businessman thought as he turned his attention back toward her. “This is a private property. You’re all trespassing and I’m going to kindly ask you to leave,” of course, more booing would follow. He felt as though he was talking to toddlers in their no stage (he could thank his siblings for knowing what the hell a no stage was). “This entire area has been purchased by myself and my clients, and you’re delaying a lot of people’s life projects here with your self centered attitude,” he didn’t need to drag them, but it wasn’t like he cared for their feelings, or their opinion. These people would never be owners.
Everything about the man was polished in a way that had Alex on the defensive. No matter how much she tried to put on the part of a put together young adult at school and dressed according to her bright spring color palette, she still donned almost an entirely thrift store wardrobe. She loved her pale blue button down blouse and dark wash jeans. When she looked in the mirror that morning, she knew she left no crumbs with this look, but people with money always seemed to look at the world with a whole different set of standards. “Alan,” she smiled with a false sweetness that could very easily be read for what it was, “I’m Alex Bennett. Event planner for UMWR’s Conservation Club.”
The way he carried himself made it more than apparent he couldn’t care less about the ecological impact of misplacing this species of toads from the bog they called home. Alex had spent countless sleepless nights reading up on them in preparation for the protest. They were one of the few species of toads that could eat some of the supernatural bug species in the area. Something about the venom in their saliva and ph that went a little over her head, but she could understand the implication in the big picture of it all. “I don’t think you’ll be building anything here after the next town council meeting,” she retorted, matter of factly, “And people’s ‘life projects’ are hardly more important than protecting local wildlife that has a significant impact on the whole town.”
Overhead, the sky lit up with a crack of bright white lightning that sent a roll of thunder in its wake. Alex crossed her arms over her chest, seemingly unfazed by the incoming storm. A little rain had never bothered her even if it did leave her smelling vaguely like a wet dog, but something told her Mr. Maserati wasn’t the type of guy who liked ruining his business attire. “You better get back to your car before it starts coming down,” she said condescendingly, “would hate for you to ruin your hair.” As if on cue, a few drops of rain starting falling from the sky and she donned a shit-eating grin that dared him to test her.
Denim and pastels. She was the shining, stunning picture of the mainstream, cradled with the illusion of a better world, where everyone's voice matters. Alan welcomed her sight, and her introduction with a sonorous yawn. “Event planner?” Was that supposed to be a job? He had some doubts about it. “You sure know how to pick a venue,” he ironized, a crooked smile appearing on his face as he glanced around. The bog was quite the stinky, unwelcoming place, but once he dried it up and built over it, it would house one of the loveliest pieces of real estate in the area, all thanks to yours truly.
“The local wildlife is going to be relocated,” he flatly replied. As for the next town council meeting, Alan wasn’t worried about it. How many of his projects had been approved in the past? How many were rejected? The scales were tipped in his favor. It was near comical that she thought her bunch of pot smokers over there even stood a chance against him. Those frogs brought nothing to the town, other than their loud croaking disturbing the peace of the neighbors. Alan offered to move them someplace else, as a gesture of good faith, and bring in wealthy taxpayers in exchange for those freeloaders. The math was easy, it revulsed him that college level kids couldn’t manage that.
The sound of thunder brought a frown to his face. Great, he was going to smell like a fucking wet dog, again. Pulling his hood over his head, the realtor put his hands in his pockets, shaking his head at her as she taunted him about the state of his hair. It did look like he put some effort into achieving that look. “It won’t get ruined, I use olaplex,” he explained, with a smile so wide it could have belonged to his lupine half.
The fact this man had suggested something as simple as rehoming the wildlife, as if it was that easy, only made Alex grow more frustrated. She rolled her eyes and let out a scoff. “Right, because that’s just such a simple thing to do for a species that has very specific habitat needs,” she spat, “And the location is important, so I’d say I did a good job. If you move these toads, you’re gonna have some parasitic insect species overpopulating the area.” It’d serve the man right to end up with eurynomos or eintykara swarming the likely overpriced homes that Alan wanted to build.
As if to add dramatic effect, a bolt of lightning lit up the cloudy sky before it was followed by a deafening crack of thunder that made her grimace. Despite the fact Alex had wanted supernatural hearing growing up, she wasn’t so fond of it at that moment. Or any moment really, since the enhanced senses had nothing to do with the ranger lineage of her family. The clouds in the sky overhead were a dark, smoky gray and she already dreaded the eventual downpour. It was one thing to smell like a wet dog at work, but she was surrounded by peers and a far too arrogant businessman. “Don’t think olaplex will save you from looking like a drowned rat, princess,” she shot back.
On cue, the torrential downpour started and Alex knew she was the one out here probably looking like a drowned animal considering she was an animal of sorts, if monsters could be classified as animals biologically. There wasn’t really a place in biological domains and kingdoms for the supernatural though maybe that was a project she could start. The others had already been wearing the ponchos she’d stolen from the Dollar Store for everyone, but she hadn’t been quite as prepared for herself. She could already pick up on the wet canine smell, but there was something else that wasn’t entirely her. Her eyes widened when she realized the other dog-like smell was coming from Mr. Olaplex himself. “Y- you’re,” she rambled nervously, “Like me?” She pointed to her nose, hoping it was enough for him to pick up on. If he made all that money, Alan had to have some common sense, right?
“If they can only survive in this specific bog, they might not be fit for survival, don’t you think?” It never ceased to make him roll his eyes, people fighting nature. By design, humans were conquerors, aiming for the top of the food chain. Alan knew he didn’t wait for the bite to make that come true. Sure, turning into the big bad wolf helped him a lot, but he got rid of business opponents without it, and he was certain he would have made it without his lupine friend.
“You’re just delaying the inevitable,” he pointed out. Slipping his hands in his pockets, Alan sighed. What was she even talking about? “What parasitic insects? Mosquitoes?” Those weren’t even parasitic.
He wouldn’t be the one living here. What would he care? If it was worse than he anticipated, he’d just find a hunter and grease their murderous hand with a stack of money.
There was an age when he wouldn’t have budged in the face of tonitruant thunder, but those days were gone. His shoulders tensed, and the man cringed in distaste. “I’ve been in Afghanistan, I think I’ll live,” he didn’t seem so convinced about it, but hoped his words would do the job of conveying this idea : don’t fuck with me.
He wiped the first drops of water from his cheek, but that damn smell would be there soon. It came from her before it did him. Fuck. Alan’s eyes darted from the dark menacing clouds back to her. He hadn’t met another wolf in a few years. Though he had put a few hunters in their grave in that span of time, the wolf population had dropped enough it made meeting new folks complicated. “Oh God,” had to be a fucking hippie. Shit. And he could already feel his heart shifting, disdain being replaced with the sort of affection that came with a sense of belonging. “I… Who…” He had been a lot more eloquent before. “Really?”
The man was not budging and the willful obtuse manner in which he spoke about simply rehoming wildlife still ground her gears more than Alex cared to admit. Her purpose had been all but swept from underneath her feet the night she was bitten. She’d never be able to protect the world by fighting monsters. Even with how much time she spent in the gym, her strength would never match Andy’s or Kaden’s. But protecting the environment and the planet? That was something she could still do, though the way Alan continued to shoot down her efforts made her doubt she could even do that.
“If you say so,” Alex relented, not really wanting to ask why he was in Afghanistan when she was pretty sure she could deduce as much. Her mind was more wrapped around the fact he was a werewolf like her and what that could mean. A wave of anxiety ran through her. Despite spending most of her life as a werewolf, it was still hard to forget everything her parents had drilled into her brain from the time she could understand words. That didn’t go away overnight, not that she was sure it went away at all. She struggled living with what she was most days and she hadn’t actually gotten to know another werewolf.
“Really,” Alex answered as she swallowed back the lump in her throat. There was a swirl of different emotions that she couldn’t bring herself to parse, but she found herself not backing away as she normally would. Most of the others had cleared out with the last bolt of lightning, but she found she was stuck in place, unsure of what to do or say. The man was still irritating but there was a certain pull there too. One that made her more inclined to crack a joke despite the fact they’d been arguing only moments before. “Didn’t exactly pick out wet dog as my choice of perfume,” she attempted, but it fell flat, because of course now that they shared something in common, she was practically desperate for approval.
By this point, Alex was soaked to the bone and the lightning was getting dangerously close. She knew as much, had to clear people out of the park far before this point, but she couldn’t leave. “How long,” she asked.
“Well shit,” Alan wasn’t a skilled liar. He could argue his way through most things, but lying was never his forte. He would have made quite the shitty actor, this was for certain. “Fuck,” it had been a bit since he last saw another werewolf : those he had met were either dead or out of town for good. It wasn’t a good thought, not when faced with such a juvenile face. His gaze dropped to the floor, shielding his head from the rain, and himself from her inquiring eyes. Her joke did make him crack a small, sad smile, but one only he would be aware of.
Wiping his nose dry for just a second or two, he glanced back toward the young wolf.
“It’ll be eleven years on the 14th of July,” the thunder hit his ears once again, more forceful than before. The storm was getting closer. “Look Alex,” under other circumstances, Alan would have called her the wrong name, and he certainly wouldn’t have said that : “we need to get out of here,” the lightning lit up the dark sky again, as if to punctuate his words with one final definite period. If he was right about what he perceived from her, then she was as eager as he was to keep the conversation going, which certainly was just fucking ironic, considering how little he wanted to speak with her just moments ago. “You could come with me, tell them to go home, say that we’re gonna have a chat, you and I.” Which wasn’t to say that he was going to give up on his plans for this place, but this had bought her a whole new level of credibility.
“Eleven years,” Alex repeated, thinking back to how long it had been for her, “13 years for me.” Her voice quieted, trying to push out images of the night and the blood that splattered their campsite. Her hand instinctively went to the place the scar on her left hip was, the one that forever marred her and brought up a concerned furrow of brows of every girl who had ever seen it. It almost seemed to have a dull ache as she pushed the memory away, but she was certain that it was her imagination. That wound, at least the physical aspect of it, had long since healed.
Alex looked over to the staggering students who had covered up under ponchos and nodded. She approached them quickly, wanting to be sure they made it somewhere safe as quickly as possible. “Everyone, get out of here. The lightning is getting close and it’s not safe. I’m gonna take to the Big Wig and keep y’all posted,” she explained. There were a few reluctant nods, but most seemed glad to get somewhere warm and dry.
There was a pounding in her chest as she approached Alan again. In all this time, Alex had avoided getting to know another werewolf. She was taught to hate them, afterall. If she couldn’t shed that hatred when looking in the mirror, how was she supposed to approach another werewolf with understanding? But the complicated web her logic had woven was getting more tangled together. Everything her parents had taught her was challenged daily by the fact Alex herself had never killed anyone. Then she spoke to Teagan, who had kindly released her from a bind without prompting. And Alan, well aside from being a rich jackass, didn’t look like a monster and his gaze had softened to a degree that made it even more difficult to make that correlation despite the fact they now both reeked of wet dog.
“Where to,” Alex asked, still reluctant as she looked at the overpriced vehicle. There was a whole whirlwind of questions in her mind, but Alan was older and had been a werewolf nearly as long as she had. Maybe he had a trick or two up his sleeve… and maybe there was something in his age that made her yearn for the approval her father never showed her, but that was neither here nor there. “Guessing you have some fancy pants office or something?”
“Thirteen years?” That made her both the youngest and oldest werewolf Alan knew at the moment. She must have been terribly young when she got bitten, and the mental image of a child being attacked by the sort of enormous beast they now turned into, that image made his stomach churn. How did she survive that?
Her court of poncho clad hippies took their leave, and Alan couldn’t help but find irony in a good shower being the downfall of these folks. Stereotypes sure had a long time ahead of them before they’d ever disappear. But, as funny as that thought was, the thunder was a dreadful reminder of his condition. Fucksake.
At least they’d be leaving this goddamn place now. He certainly wouldn’t be mad to see it disappear underneath concrete or to never see it again.
“My den in the middle of woods of course,” he smiled to himself, if only to appear like someone who had his shit together. Where to… He had his office, he had his house. The latter had towels and dry clothes, because he didn’t feel like showing up and letting his employees get the idea that he smelled exactly like a wet dog. The way they’d been standing in the pouring rain, it would take days to let the stench leave his car, which was already bad enough to him. “I’m taking you to my house. I’m not going back to work with that stench on me,” and her. “It’ll be a much better place to talk,” opening the car for them both, the wolf hurriedly rid himself of his raincoat, tossing it in the trunk before going to sit behind the wheel. He didn’t move for a second, contemplating what meeting her could possibly mean. Even if they belonged to different generations, different social classes and had different beliefs, perhaps they could make it work, stay alive, together. Lightning struck in the distance. Alan remained quiet, reaching for his phone to send a message of reassurance to a friend he knew wouldn’t be having a good time in this weather. “Coffee and a chat sounds good to you too?”
The look of sad perplexion that the older wolf tried to mask was one Alex was familiar with. There was a reason the young werewolf didn’t go around offering up information about herself without thinking it through. She was young, she knew the picture that came to mind when she said thirteen years was one of a small child being attacked by a monster. It would pull at anyone’s heart strings and the big shot realtor was no exception. But would that same soft spot still be intact if Alan knew why she’d been in the situation in the first place? That she was supposed to be trained to kill monsters like the both of them? It left a spinning feeling in her stomach so she simply nodded in response.
But then something hit her. Something akin to… kinship? Alex wondered if there was some universal appeal of the woods to werewolves, some sort of comfort in the quiet oasis it provided to they’re overactive myriad of senses. Maybe there was some sort of supernatural biological programming there though she wasn’t sure how much the principles of science really came into play with supernatural beings. It stood to reason that even supernatural creatures had instincts and roles in the local ecosystem just as any other species. She smiled softly once the group cleared out. “I’d expect nothing less,” she responded, “Mine is too… Well, more a really run-down rental cabin, but the rent is stupid cheap. Pretty sure the owner is a vampire and is just really out of touch with the current rental market.”
Her words were intended to lighten the moment a bit and maybe there was some small hope that they’d help with bridging the gap created by the very wrong foot they’d gotten off on. Alex had a whirlwind of complex feelings about what she was, but something in her still craved the older werewolf’s approval, and if she was being honest with herself, maybe even his guidance. For so long, she’d put off connecting with anyone like her because well… how could she reason with herself that she was a monster, but stay open to the idea that other werewolves weren’t monsters? Maybe she was tired of never feeling good enough, tired of trying to live up to the idea of being someone her parents would love if they could see her today. Another crackle of thunder rumbled the ground below them and she readily agreed to go with him to his house, a show of trust uncharacteristic of the young wolf.
“Coffee and a chat at your place it is,” Alex agreed more eagerly than she had meant to, despite the air of nonchalance she desperately wanted to portray. Her own father had always faulted showing signs of emotion. Something about giving your opponent an advantage and she had already decided Alan wasn’t an enemy, but how put together he was reminded her of her own father in a way, which made the show of excitement feel like a sign of weakness– a reason for him to write her off the same way her father had seemed to. “Spare you coworkers the stink. They’re already working weekends,” she joked, as if it brought back that air of cool she wanted to wrap herself in, “Hope you’ve got oat milk.”

when i was a kid there was this place in brooklyn called party gym which was like. okay so there's not a lot of chuck e cheeses in brooklyn you see. there USED to be one in bensonhurst by the bridge, in a shopping center called caesars bay. it closed in 1987 and they replaced it with a toys r us. it's a target now.
anyway my point is if you were having a birthday party your options were usually a panoply of one-off kiddy fun locations. fun time usa, of which there are no meaningfully descriptive images verifying its existence to my knowledge. nelly bly, a theme park where the tallest roller coaster would only really intimidate a toddler. but fun gym was like. it was this really padded room full of chintzy "rides," the kinds of things you rented out for a block party. and i dont remember much of the party itself but at the end they brought us all into the back room to eat pizza and they were playing an episode of POKEMON on the little CRTs mounted on the walls, in like 1998 at the HEIGHT of pokemania. and there was pizza. closest i ever came to a bacchanal. their logo had a monkey in it.

closed starter for: @ccmpletemessmuses: edward & nora location: jungle bungle indoor playground
the shrill shouts of almost innumerable children were ringing out as edward leaned against the wall, his eyes flashing between his phone and emmett, who was waddling around with the younger kids of the large birthday party. a smile spread across his face as his son began approaching him. bending down, his suit pants stretching tightly over his knees as he scooped the toddler up, he pushed some of the hair out of his eyes. "you need some juice, buddy?" emmett nodded, prompting edward to dig through his diaper bag until he withdrew a sippy cup of watered down apple juice. "there y'go. alright, why don't you take a little break before going back to play? your cheeks are all red!" helping emmett back down, edward stood up and brushed off his knees. just as he went to reorganize his diaper bag, he spotted a familiar face. "nora?," edward asked, his voice every bit as professional and saccharine as it was when he was wooing a jury. "what a coincidence seeing you here for the first time in - god - how long has it been?"

Character Intro: Physis (Kingdom of Ichor)
The Green Godling by the people of Olympius
Chipmunk by her mom
Hummingbird by her father
Age- 8 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- She's a sweet gentle girl with a shy temperament. She loves enjoying the simplest aspects of nature like walking bare foot on grass or jumping in puddles after a rainstorm.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess. With her current age her powers/abilities are honey generation/manipulation, geokinesis (as of now can only control leaves, mud, dirt, rocks, & pebbles), limited hydrokinesis (as it pertains to lakes, streams, & puddles), limited photokinesis, being able to communicate with woodland animals (is able to shapeshift into a beaver, squirrel, chipmunk, deer, & several small birds), limited vitakinesis (healing), and even limited atmokinesis (as it relates to her mood; for example if she's feeling intense sadness, a raining cloud appears over her head).
Physis is the daughter of a naiad nymph named Syrinx and Pan (god of the wild, satyrs, shepherds, & rustic music).
She lives with her mother in a lakehouse on their private property on the outskirts of the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus. They have an expansive backyard & garden, a few acres of woodland, and a small pond. Physis' bedroom is her oasis painted in cool shades of eggshell, teal, blue, yellow, & green. Decorative branches, chrome butterfly cranes, and a birdhouse-style bedframe is there too along with her favorite humidifier! She has a growing number of small pets like gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, & new white tree frogs named Hoppy, Jelly, Daphne, and Jojo.
Her favorite flower is the daisy. She also likes dandelions- especially blowing away the soft white puffs!
Physis & her parents are proud eco friendly vegans. She loves helping her mom at home with their compost pile. They also use reusable cloth bags when they go grocery shopping, have glass & silicone storage containers, and use metal & bamboo straws.
A go-to drink for her is aloe vera juice. She also likes ginger ale, carrot juice, coconut water, lychee nectar juice, water, orange juice, apple juice, the apple-kiwi-spinach smoothies her mom makes, and watermelon juice. When her & her mom stop by at a Roasted Bean, Physis will usually get the small peach sweet tea.
She loves when her mom makes oatmeal topped with chocolate chips & almond butter for breakfast. She also likes the whole wheat banana pancakes drizzled in maple syrup and the Earthly Harvest fruit crystals cereal (with cold oatmilk).
Even though her father's been around since she was born, Physis was technically introduced to him when he came to her fifth birthday party- an outdoor affair at a public park in the state of Arcadia. Physis saw him walk in holding a wrapped gift and she instantly recognized him! She remembered seeing photos of him holding her as a baby and small toddler in a tucked away photo album hidden in her mom's drawer. She remained sitting atop her father's shoulders for the rest of the party- mesmerized & constantly touching his large curved glossy brown horns. He even performed an original song he wrote for her! Their relationship is still going strong with her mom allowing her visits & overnight stays with him biweekly and some weekends. They communicate often through letters.
Her favorite snacks are pear-applesauce & prickly pear flavored gummy bears.
Physis attends an esteemed private school in the city. She's a third grader with other godly kids in her grade like Hebe (goddess of youth), Paidia (goddess of play & amusement), Caerus (god of opportunity & luck); she thinks he's too much of a jokester, Prophasis (goddess of excuses), and Myrízei (god of smell & gases); who she says hi to. Her best friends are Aceso (goddess of healing) & Mneme (goddess of remembrance). Physis is also friendly with Xenia (goddess of hospitality) who's in the fourth grade. She's aware of the godly fifth graders like Aidos (goddess of shame, modesty, humility, & respect), Ersa (goddess of morning dew), Melete (goddess of thought & meditation), Calleis (goddess of allurement), and Eulabeia (goddess of caution).
Her favorite class is science and she really enjoyed the class trip to the New Olympus Zoo- her favorite part being the panda exhibit! She even bought a stuffed panda at the zoo's gift shop.
For her seventh birthday, Physis got a silver necklace with a pan flute charm from her father which she wears all the time.
Her favorite guilty pleasure are tortilla chips with guacamole!
Physis doesn't know and haven't met any of her older half siblings.
In the pantheon she really admires Iris (goddess of the rainbow), Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), Méli (goddess of bees & honey), Demeter (goddess of the harvest & agriculture), Thalia (muse of comedy), Gaia (goddess of the earth), and Tithonus (god of insects) who Physis has started developing a little crush on.
Her favorite frozen treat are carrot-ginger ice pops! She likes when Aceso's mom Epione (goddess of soothing pain) makes them!
Physis & her mom have a close bond. She loves cuddling up with her on the couch watching it rain from the window & she's even being taught archery by her! They also build birdhouses. Hair day is also a great bonding moment for them. When Physis gets older she wants to get dreadlocks just like her parents, but for now her thick curly brown hair is kept natural. Go-to products are the Hairology soap free sweet sandalwood shampoo & conditioner bars and the Glory's Crown bamboo ginseng curling elixir.
Her favorite dessert from Hollyhock's Bakery is the lemon olive oil cake. She also likes her mom's oatmeal peanut butter-chocolate chip granola squares.
She doesn't eat fast food often so when she does, it's a welcome treat. Her favorite thing to get from Olympic Chef is the spicy black bean burger with small sweet potato fries and tofu nuggets (with sweet & sour dipping sauce).
Some of her favorite meals include spicy chickpea chili, sticky & spicy baked cauliflower with white rice, sweet plantains (fried in peanut oil), and curried tofu collard green wraps (with spicy peanut sauce).
In her free time Physis enjoys climbing trees, swimming, reading, bike riding, jump rope, lanyard, knitting, gardening, indoor rock climbing, going to the park, horseback riding, drawing, kite flying, surfing, football (soccer), & basketball.
"Sometimes, nature is all someone needs."
