It was the early hours of darkness on Sadala, the time of sleep for children both of raven and snow having now fallen amongst the dwelling. In the wake of the preparations for their slumber, the saiyaness called Kolra had gotten them ready. Everything required for the toddlers time of dreaming had been completed, freshly bathed and put in snug nightwear, little teeth brushed clean with only a little bit of trouble from Kimiar who was still getting accustomed to some thing. After which they were placed in the livingroom where slowly they were dozing off from the long day of play.

Kimiar was the first to drift off, currled up with his head resting on the small pillow that normally went with nap-time. Breath shallow as he was now in dream land, gently picked up by Kolra to.be moved to the bed big enough for the three little ones to share; a kiss laid upom the forhead of the small boy. Next was the son of Kolra, Ruco who was in clutches of sleep when his mother would come back to fetch him, picking him up just as gently as Kimiar, being moved to the same bed where she would lay him, hand passing through well cared for hair to lull him into a complete state of sleep.

However the last child wouldn't be so easily to put down as she would scurry away, determined to stay up so she could see what she wanted to see. In the halls she ran despite her sleepy mind, her desire to see the stars greater then her bodies desire to sleep. Making it to one of the windows who's curtains were drawn closed, Kolra having shut all of them out of habit, they were to heavy for tired little hands to open as no matter how hard she tried. A little sound of disappointment, she didn't have a choice but to wait for either saiyan to come get her now.

"Nngh, I want to see the stars..."

Her sleepy little voice murmurs, sitting on the floor in defeat. Her body to exhausted to try and avoid her fate of a light blanket and soft pillow. She wouldn't evven put up a fuss of she were to be picked up.

He had just returned from an annoying mission. Although it was rare for him to be tired, he wasn't in the best of moods. He wanted to take a shower and do something to take his mind off things. As he headed for the bathroom he shares with Kolra, he passed the door to the three children's bedroom. Although he had no blood ties with them, he saw them as his children. Kolra's child was the wisest of the trio and, against all odds, Lucy was no longer the disruptive element. Her brother had taken her place. He was used to supervising children with horrible temperaments, so Kimiar was no problem. He was delighted that Lucy had someone she could trust. The Saiyan hoped this would remain the case forever. With his highly developed hearing, he could hear noises that very few could. Although the door was closed, he had heard Lucy's wish. She was supposed to be asleep, so he entered the room and set eyes on her.

He sighed, closed the door behind him, walked over to her, took her in his arms and drew the curtain. A moonless night, as to be expected from a planet with three suns. They had a moon, but it only showed up once every 76 years. It was thanks to the missing moon that the stars shone brightly. He turned his head towards the door, then decided to open the window to get out and give Lucy a better view of the dark sky. He hoped this would be enough to keep her from deciding to open the window and go out to see the stars in the near future. Some wild animals were stupid enough to approach his house. He'd have to find a way to keep an eye on the kids even when he was away. He didn't want to put any more pressure on Kolra's poor shoulders. She was an angel for taking care of the trio without ever complaining. He should take her out sometime. Fortunately, he has a multitude of years of vacation time just waiting to be used.

— Well, it's time for you to get some sleep.

He returned to the bedroom, closed the window behind him, and put Lucy in her crib.

— If you don't go to bed now, you won't be allowed to watch cartoons for three days.

He placed a kiss on her forehead, then walked towards the door.

— Sweet dreams and a good night's sleep.

Y/n was nervous about meeting the Hellfire group. She had been dating Eddie for a few weeks.

Just yesterday she had told her friends about their relationship and they had basically shunned her.

Because she was in the popular group she was only meant to go out with people that the group approved of but she hadn't fallen for anyone until Eddie.

Eddie treated her like a princess and she was glad to have him in her life. She had never met anyone like him, someone so unashamedly himself, he didn't give a fuck what people thought.

With him, she felt free and was so glad that they were dating. As much as she was gutted about her friend's reaction she expected it.

Hopefully, the Hellfire Club were a lot more understanding.

The whole of Hellfire stares at her and Eddie holding hands. They came in chatting about the campaign but immediately quietened when they saw her with Eddie.

Eddie wraps his arm around her and holds her close to him.

"Dudes, this is my girlfriend y/n". Dustin looks between them stunned.

"Eddie man she's a cheerleader". This amuses her as Eddie rolls his eyes.

"Really? I never noticed man". The others aren't as polite as Dustin. They are downright hurtful if she's being honest.

"You're joking, right? Is this some weird prank Eddie man?". Lucas asks him and Gareth frowns.

"There's no way you are dating y/n, she's popular. As if. You're against all that conforming bullshit aren't you?".

"How much is he paying you come on fess up?" Her jaw drops and her heart sinks, that's what they think? Eddie looks hurt by their comments and she snaps.

"What the hell? I love Eddie and he loves me He's an amazing man and I love being with him".

Eddie softens, his eyes full of love as he gazes at her and kisses her forehead. The boys look guilty as it dawns on them that she and Eddie are telling the truth.

"Oh, shit Eddie we are sorry". Dustin apologises as the rest look morose and Eddie glares at them all.

"Yeah, no shit. Y/n and I have been dating for a while now and she's incredible and I expect her and me to be treated with respect because she means the world to me".

They all shuffle around silent and she softens a bit not wanting Eddie and his friends to fall out.

"Hey, look it's okay Eds. It was bound to.be a surprise to them, lets just start the campaign okay?".

She smiles at the boys who begin to relax a little more.

"I don't want to have animosity, your Eddie's friends and I would like to get to know you all".

"How did your friends react?". Lucas asks her curious.

"Practically disowned me". She murmurs still hurting because of that and she is met with sympathetic smiles.

Sensing her mood Eddie kisses her hair.

"We'll take care of you from now on right boys?". Eddie announces and to her delight they all nod along and motion her to the table.

Jeff tells her about their campaign, and Dustin hands her a book so she can learn all about D&D.

Soon the air filled with laughter and fun as the campaign starts. Eddie squeezes her hand and she knows that she will be happy here.

Joby (Jim x Toby) + First date & first Kiss

Jim laughed, happily clicking his heels as he descended the stairs. Today was going to be a good day. How could it not be? He had a date with Toby today. Their first date. He was so happy he couldn’t keep it inside. His mom was down stairs finishing getting ready, about to leave for work. She smiled at him as he walked past.

“Is today the big day?” She asked. “Are you all ready for your date?”

“Yep, I have everything ready. I’m going to start cooking now, so Tobes and I can have diner before the movie.”

Barbara smiled wider. She had been worried that after everything Jim had gone through with his father leaving he would have a difficult time finding love, but he could see love shining in the eyes of her son as he talked about his date with Toby. She stepped up to him, and straightened the collar of the button down he was wearing.

“I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time. Don’t stay up too late tonight.” She kissed his head and he gave her a tight hug.

Jim said his goodbyes to his mom then moved to the kitchen. This was his domain. He knew where every tool, spice and ingredient was in his kitchen. He set about preparing the meal he was going to share with Toby, each movement of his precise, yet with his standard flair, his joy transmitting easily to his cooking.

This date felt like it had been a long time coming. He could still remember, like it was yesterday the first time he and Toby had kissed. It had been before they were even a couple, just two good friends, but Toby kissed him and filled his mind with Fireworks.

It had been his 14th birthday. He hated his birthdays. Every year it reminded him over and over about his father leaving him. As much as he could pretend on any other day that he doesn’t care, and in truth he hardly does, it was hard to pretend on his birthday.

On top of the memory of his dad packing his bags and leaving without a word, his mom was working. Jim was very understanding of Barbara’s work schedule. He knew she worked hard to support the two of them, and that her work was important.

However being alone on his birthday, with the constant reminders that the day brought, was more than he could handle. He had been spiraling. All of his thoughts circling on that same fear that one day his mom would leave him too. That he would be inevitably abandoned, and that it would be all his fault.

Despite the years of therapy he still, in his darkest moments blamed himself for his father leaving. If he had only been a better child, or if he had been the daughter his dad had wanted, maybe he would have stayed.

Jim couldn’t focus. He could barely breath. The world felt like it was closing in on him, the house dark as a cave despite the sun shining in through the windows. He didn’t even notice the door open, as he pulled at his hair and scrubbed his hands again and again.

Toby marched in with a speaker in his hand and a kazoo in his mouth, a banner held high over his head. He was loudly playing Jim’s favorite song, his volume making up for his lack of tone or tempo.

He froze when he saw Jim curled up on the couch, hands over his ears at the noise, tears running down his face. Speaker, kazoo and banner were all quickly abandoned as Toby ran to his side, wrapping him in a tight hug.

Jim pressed his face into his friend’s shoulder, letting his tears flow freely, knowing that there would be no judgement here. The arms tight around him, Toby’s weight pressing down on him, his hand rubbing soft circles into his back. Slowly, oh so slowly, he felt more grounded, more human, more like Jim.

When he was able to breath without sobbing, Toby meticulously wiped the tears from his eyes. Then he helped Jim rise and get into the kitchen. Cooking helped him deal with his anxiety if it wasn’t too bad.

The rest of that day had passed in a blur, Toby keeping a constant stream of conversation going, even if he had to do most of the talking. His phone softly playing relaxing music the whole time. Between the cooking, the music and Toby’s ministrations Jim was coming back to himself, cracking jokes and flourishing his tools like he usually did with Toby.

After some food was prepared they got ready to watch a movie, Jim now exhausted from the emotional drain had leaned on Toby’s shoulder, before he had hesitantly grabbed Jim’s face, and to the surprise of both of them, pressed a soft kiss to his lips.

Jim could remember the sensation of fireworks perfectly, he had felt like he was floating and flying and his stomach was doing flips all at once. He had kissed Toby back just as passionately.

The knock on the front door startled Jim out of his reprieve about his first kiss. It was time for his first date. He smiled widely, turning the stove to low before straightening his collar again, checking his reflection in the chrome of the coffee maker.

He threw the front door open. His smile somehow growing wider at the sight of Toby on the front step.

Toby had swapped his usual sweater for a nicer one that made him look like a very short professor. In his hands he had a small bouquet of tulips. His smile matched Jim's, showing off his braces.

Jim welcomed him in ushering him into the dining room. Toby put the flowers in a vase while Jim finished plating the food. Then they both put their respective burdens on the table.

The meal was comfortable, as only two friends who have learned to love each other can be comfortable. The conversation is casual, warm and flows freely. They both eat one handed keeping the fingers of their other hand entwined. Jim feels a little sappy, but loves it nonetheless.

After dinner, Jim fetches his Vespa and the two of them ride to the theater to watch the latest gun robot movie, still holding hands the whole time. From first meeting, to first kiss to first date. Jim looked forward to a world of firsts to.be shared with Toby, his brand new boyfriend.

9:34 p.m. at the Smash Mansion's Living Room

A Werewolf starts howling under the moonlight on the TV screen

Wolf: (Scoffs While Having His Arm Around Isabelle's Shoulder) Please. That howl wasn't really that great at all.

Leon: (Turns to Wolf) Don't you usually howl in the same manner as well?

Wolf: Yeah. But whenever I do it, it has class. The howl from that Werewolf guy was child's play at best.

Panther: Well, this was his first time turning into a werewolf....(Shrugged) Maybe he was a late bloomer?

Wolf: Possibly. All I know is that I can do that howl a million times better.

Isabelle: (Impressed and Amazed) I had no idea you were able to howl before, Wolfie. (Starts to Frown in Confusion) But wait.....If that's the case, then how you didn't do it back when we were in New Horizon?

Wolf: (Starts Rubbing the Back of his Head Back and Forth) Ehh...I wasn't really interested in doing it at the time. Plus, I didn't wanna wake you or the Islanders up in the night, soooo......

Isabelle: (Smiles Softly) Aww, Wolfie~ (Hugs Her Boyfriend Lovingly) You're so sweet and considerate~

Wolf: (Chuckles Lightly While Blushing a Little) It was nothing really. Just being thoughtful or whatever.

Isabelle: You know, I.....honestly wouldn't mind hearing your howling skills one of these nights?~

Wolf: (Raised an Eyebrow in Genuine Surprised) You're serious?

Isabelle: (Happily Nodded) Yup. (Starts Snuggling Onto Wolf) I'm sure you'll sound beautiful, Wolfie~

Leon: (Rolled his Eyes While Crossing his Arms) Better hope his howling doesn't keep you up at night, Isabelle. Or else it'll cause you to get nauseating headaches every morning.....

Wolf: (Glares at Leon) Dude, come on. I already told that I was sorry.

Leon: (Glares Back at Wolf) You did. And yet you still kept on howling a night after and then some.

Wolf: That's because I'm a wolf, Leon. It's in our nature to do this kind of stuff beside proving our dominance to one another. It's kind of like you and your species and how they just change colors and...uhh.....uhhh....

Leon: You have no idea what we do beside camouflaging to our surroundings, do you?

Wolf: ('Sighs in Defeat') I don't. (Immediately Points at Leon) But whatever is you guys do beside that is..... something!

Leo: ('Sighs Heavily') Look, if you're really serious on doing this, could you at least find a destination that isn't near the mansion? I highly doubt that everyone here would be too please on hearing your howling throughout the night.

Wolf: (Rolled his Eyes) Yeah. Yeah. I'll think of something.... eventually.

Panther: Howling throughout the night aside, I do find it quite interesting that there are humans that are able to turn themselves into those ferrous beasts and obtain abilities that are beyond their understanding. Even if it mostly occur in the movies.

Wolf: (Shrugged) ('Tch') I still think they're a bunch of posers. They may have speed, sharp teeth and claws in their arsenal, but that only last till the night is over. (Smirks While Pointing his Thumb to Himself) They can never hope to be the real deal.

Panther: I don't think most of them in these movies even wanted to.be werewolves in the first place, boss....Well...except for that Jacob twerp...

Wolf: Who?

Isabelle: (Sighs While Rolling her Eyes) He's a character from those old Twilight movies?

Wolf: Twilight? What are those movies about?

Isabelle: It's best not to worry about it, Wolfie. Trust me, they're definitely not worth your time.

Panther: All you need to know that they're all dull and soulless in their own light. An immediate skip indeed.

Isabelle: (Simply Nodded) Mmhmm.

Wolf: (Turns to Leon) You have any idea what those movies are about or.....

Leon: (Simply Shrugged) No clue.

Wolf: (Shrugged As Well) Eh. Whatever. I can just look it up later.

A Will Byers x Reader Series

Will’s connection to a shadowy evil grows stronger, but no one’s quite sure how to stop it. Elsewhere, Dustin and Steve forge an unlikely bond.

Warnings: vomiting?? kinda?? it's not actually puke, it's the flashback of Will coughing up Dart in season one but the details came out more graphic than I anticipated and idk if any of you are sensitive to that stuff. Ya know, see or read about puke and get sick themselves?? Again, idk but yea, that's it ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯

||3rd Person POV||

Dr. Owens peaks his head in the door uneasily, Hopper sits on the edge of the bench hunched over a bucket. He is still in the gown lab had provided, his new pair of scrubs still sat folded and untouched to his left on the bench. Another retch is torn from his strained throat as his insides empty into the bucket. Owens fights a grimace and clears his throat announcing his presence.

"All right, cowboy, good news." He steps inside, his assistant behind him. "We're giving you the green light. How're you feeling?"

Hopper, still shaky and weak from his night in the tunnels and the full hose down from the medical team, turns to give the doctor an exaggerated grin and speaks through gritted teeth.

"Never better."

"All right, well, we got a present for ya," Owens says, letting the sarcasm roll off his back.

The assistant steps forward, a folded hazmat suit in his hands. Hopper attempts no such efforts to hide his own grimace at the sight.

"The hell is that?"

"Uh, something you should see."

The heart monitor beats steadily as Will sleeps, color has begun to return to his cheeks but it is scarce. Mike is tucked under a blanket, fast asleep in the bedside chair while Joyce and Bob speak in hushed whispers in the corner. Joyce had, for the most part, filled in Bob on the events of the past year.

"They made me sign, like, a thousand. I mean... we all had to. We had to. I mean, I lost track at a certain point. They're gonna make you do the same. I'm sure."

Bob nods, his eyes returning to Joyce after lingering worriedly on Will.

"Yeah. Well, hey, whatever."

There's a brief pause as Joyce gauges his reaction suspiciously, surprised by his shockingly relaxed demeanor. Finally, Bob speaks.

"What kind of documents?"

"Uh, confidentiality, and there were these official forms saying, like, nothing ever happened, which is why..."

Bob steps towards Will's bed, clarity written on his face.

"Will got lost in the woods."

"Yeah."

Bob shakes his head, the wave of shock finally crashing over him in full.

"Man, I always thought stuff like this happened in movies and comic books. Certainly not in Hawkins," He returns to Joyce's side. "and certainly not to someone like you."

Joyce nudges Bob.

"Or you."

"Yeah," he chuckles, quirking a brow. "Bob Newby, superhero."

The pair share a smile, but it does not last long before it fizzles out in the unresolved tension in the air. Joyce notes the shivers shaking Bob's body and throws him a concerned glance.

"You cold?"

"Just a little jitters, I guess." He says, drawing the blanket around his shoulders closer. "Hey, don't you start worrying about me. Okay? I'm fine. I'm fine."

Joyce nods in understanding, though she can't quite seem to shake the worry.

"It's not like you didn't warn me. 'This is not a normal family.' Isn't that what you said?"

The ends of her lips curl into a weak smile, a deflated chuckle escaping her. Bob soon joins in, gesturing to Will.

"You weren't kidding."

There's another thick pause, and Bob takes a silent breath before returning to a familiar subject.

"It kinda makes my idea of moving to Maine sound a little less crazy, right?"

"Oh, it... it's not crazy at all."

A warm smile tugs at his lips and Joyce can feel the effects of his contagious charm, a smirk drawing her face as well. But the moment quickly slips away at the sound of a familiar voice stirring from the bed.

"Mom?"

The couple is quick to join his side, and Bob enters the hall in a beat calling for the doctor. Joyce reaches him in no time, her palm reaching out for her son and she stroke his cold cheek.

"Sweetie, how are you feeling? You okay?"

Bob steps back into the room, leaving the door ajar and Mike stirs awake at the small commotion.

"Okay, they're on their way," Bob says, joining Joyce's side, and gives Will a warm smile. "Hey."

Will frowns at his mother, gesturing to Bob.

"Who is that?"

Joyce chuckles nervously, and worry quickly settles into everyone's chest.

"What?" Joyce asks.

"It's me, big guy. It's Bob."

His palm extends to meet Will's, to give him a reassuring tap on the arm but Will pulls away reluctantly. There is suspicion and fear in his eyes as he inspects the man for what looks to.be the first time.

"Are you a... doctor?"

The tension in the air rises, but Bob tries to push through it. Joyce and Mike only watch the exchange with great worry.

"No. No, it's just me. Just... just Bob."

Lucas coasts down Old Cherry Road, his heart rate climbing steadily. As he approaches his ears perk up upon hearing muffled rock music blasting from inside one of the many houses. He knows this is the one he has been looking for when he recognizes the car Max had climbed into many times. And more importantly, the one that nearly ran him and his friends over.

Inside, Billy hardly fights the anger rising in his chest at the doorbell that keeps ringing. He continues his set, his fuse shortening when it goes unanswered. With an angered grunt, he drops the bar and grabs his cigarette from his lips.

"Max, are you getting that or what?" He roars.

An impressive huff escaped her, her eyes rolling to the back of her head briefly in disdain.

"Okay!" She snaps, chucking her half taped board on her mattress before standing.

The doorbell rings once more, and not a second later does Billy continue to berate her.

"I swear to God, Max!"

She stomps down the hall in a fury, making an effort to glare menacingly at her stepbrother in a last act of defiance. She moves swiftly around his equipment, hair flying behind her as her speed increases with every frantic ring of the doorbell. She rips the door open, expecting to deal with another noise complaint from Billy's music that would somehow get her in trouble, but what she finds is much worse.

Lucas stands on the porch to her horror and fear for the boy's safety, she knows if he is caught here, there was no telling what Billy would do to him. Her head whips around to the living room, grateful Billy has his back turned. Quickly, she steps outside closing the door behind her.

"What are you doing here?"

Her voice is urgent and hushed, and oh how she hates that Billy holds this power over her. The power to make her feel unsafe in her own home, the power to make her fear for other people's safety no matter where she is.

"I have proof," Lucas says.

"What?"

"Proof that what I told you was real. But we have to hurry."

"What kind of proof? Y/n, proof, or something I'm gonna regret seeing later, proof?"

With a half-hearted grunt, Billy places the weights back on the rack and sits up. He takes one long drag of his cigarette before exhaling, his attention returning to the front door. He realizes he hasn't heard any conversation and when he sees he is alone - no sign of the nuisance he called a step-sister, and a closed front door - he knows Max is up to no good. In his eyes, she isn't. He rises from the bench and stalks forward towards the door, taking a swig from his beer can and places it on the mantle just as the door swings open.

Max slips inside through the small gap she created in the doorway, quick to close the door the moment she was inside. As if on autopilot, she stomps through the living room - not very far - before she halts suddenly in her tracks. Billy is blocking off the entryway, his shoulders squared and a fixed glare on her. She jumps, not expecting his presence but she tries to hide it.

"Who the hell were you talking to?" He asks with venom.

Max collects herself, her eyes struggle not to dart around the room and he notes the uneasy twitch in her brow line.

"Mormons."

A sick smile tugs at his lips, a smirk made of a mix of disgust and triumph. He can almost laugh at her pathetic lie. Almost.

"Mormons?"

She nods, a rising sense of confidence in her tone that makes it harder for him to confront her.

"Talkative ones."

With that, she slips past him and makes a swift exit to her room. He stares after her, the gears turning in his head but he can't quite pin anything on her yet, much to his chagrin. He heads for the door, ripping it open as she did moments ago and steps onto the empty porch. His eyes scan the street but he sees no sign of anyone, just an empty lawn and others like them up and down the road. His jaw clenches, his anger flickering inside him more but he shoves it away for now, and heads back inside.

Meanwhile, Max reaches her room, closing her door behind her and making her way to her window and slides it open. Just as she had instructed, Lucas awaits outside her window, his movements urgent as he beckons her down.

"Come on, hop on!"

Max quickly climbs through the window, her feet planting on the small landing just below and jumps onto the grass. She quickly takes a seat behind Lucas, grabbing his shoulders she leans around him to speak.

"This better be good, stalker."

In a matter of moments, the pair is off. Silently, they slip around the back of the house and disappear down the road.

The yellow beam of light shifts from eye to eye and Will does his best to ignore the flash of negatives his brain sees. He is surrounded by somewhat familiar faces. He does not understand the fuss being made, his mother and friend he recognizes but now there was a strange man in scrubs that stayed behind. Bob. He wasn't sure why he was being treated like this.

"Do you know your name?" The doctor asks.

"Will."

"Your full name?" He asks, tucking the flashlight into his breast pocket.

"William Byers." He says simply.

"Do you know... Do you know who I am?"

Will thinks for a moment, the question obvious and unnecessary.

"A doctor."

Will tries to ignore the fact that he is surrounded by a medical team that watches him studiously. He does all he can to focus his attention on the doctor before him, and answer his questions but he can't help but start to doubt his own sanity. Or at least the sanity of everyone around him. Was he supposed to have known everyone circling him now?

"Have we met before?" The doctor asks.

Will's brow fell into a crease, he shakes his head simply.

"I don't remember."

"Hmm."

Elsewhere, a large team of staff assigned to the Byers case watches the feed with intrigue. The live footage from Byers' room is displayed on one of many monitors and they watch, paying close attention to the quizzical and unexpected turn the boy has taken.

"You don't remember me?" They hear Owens ask.

They see the boy shake his head, and Owens nods.

"Okay," he extends an arm and points in 's direction. "How about, uh... How about this guy here?"

Mike shifts uneasily, his heart pounding against his chest as his best friend slowly turns to look at him. Nervously, he retracts one hand from his pocket and waves weakly before returning to the comfort of the is pocket. His fingers fumble anxiously with the loose thread from the shoddy stitching. "Okay, son." He mumbles, patting his arm but he makes no effort to stop.

Joyce reaches out and places a gentle hand on his leg from the end of the bed and begins to mumble encouraging thoughts and showing her concern and support. After a determined and swift nod from the man, the assistant nods and lowers the flame. Everything immediately intensifies, the heart monitor beeps faster, the creature squeals turn to shrieks and Will begins to write clutching desperately at his chest.

The assistant does nothing and the flame continues to burn the flesh of the creature and Will shifts feverishly on the bed, his head rolling back as he shrieks at the sky. His agonizing cries pierce her ears and stab at her heart. She continues to stop their efforts but her voice is drowned out in Will's screams and even then they ignore her. Hopper jumps in, separating Will from Owens and throws his arms out and he roars at them viciously.

"Stop! You heard her! That's enough!"

The flame retracts and the man shrinks back as the creature does. Patches of its skin are burned away, showing pinkish and inflamed skin, and Will gasps for breath. Hopper stands over the boy protectively and himself and Joyce sends deathly stares to every staff member.

"That's it! We're done!" Hopper barks.

The rooms falls silent and every staff member squirms uncomfortably. Joyce sets aside her fury and redirects her attention to her boy. Soothingly, she pats his leg - the only place she can reach from the end of the bed - and whispers encouraging words.

And in effect we are often saying the same thing (in different ways) when we argue, but we don't recognize it partially due to the impact stressful emotion has on confusion/logic/rational. I also wonder if someone hasn't engineered our language to seem more combative by using the word "YOU" to mean both the listener and the subject or protagonist when I complain or tell a story to someone, it sounds like i'm talking about them, unless we use the word 'ONE' in place of 'YOU' when describing something to a friend, which i think is more proper English anyway. We all seem to say "YOU" to often to one another, when the most used word in English is "I", that stat is from a 1980s primary school teacher & likely incorrect but I think I wanted to sound ironic after a "their co-opting our own language against us" rant. ;] Once me as a teen and my mother went for counselling now a lot of shlt can go down when you're raised by a single teen mother but I didn't see any need for counselling at least relating to her and my relationship. In the first 20 mins of the first session it was mentioned that often when ppl disagree (we argued maybe monthly at that time) they can really come off and even believe they feel really angry but it is actually us trying to protect ourselves from the real feeling we're having which truthfully deep down is feeling HURT (or possibly frustration, embarrassment etc). So once we heard this my mother and I started talking about that being such a great insight and how it applied directly to us in virtually every argument we'd ever had. So silly of us to be acting mad when we were not even angry at all we were HURTING but in denial. We continued to talk both amazed at this simple insight impacting so many pre-conceptions we had acquired of one another and others while essentially judging people often even having great love for them, judged them for not knowing they were hurt thus reacting in attempt to protect themselves. That session we basically walked out of halfway through changed our lives forever, monthly fights went extinct or more like to a decade basis. I was young enough that seeing fear and hurt when people would try to show anger and create fear made me a much more empathetic person and changed my life. For a long time i didn't even believe in anger as a real emotion, being that it's just "fear with teeth", because i could see no evolutionary advantage for anger, I now know human development can't be simplified that easily. But it's still an enlightening concept in any approach to conflict, especially in avoiding conflict. We're on the same side guys. Try not to be further divided if we all become further individualized then their conquering is basically completed. After us having done the 'heavy lifting' in the making possible our failed destiny as designed! We should try in as many ways possible to each day's every event, at least where we have a choice of our re/action, to stop furthering our own enslavement. The one way that each and every single person can do this everywhere is by at least starting to try to be more forgiving. Actively forgiving is really just a way to not have to carry stress and other baggage that's rightfully someone else's anyways. He said with fondness as he got up begrudgingly, dragging himself back up the stairs. The house was quiet now that he had taken care of the bins, and he was a little unsettled by it. He got to the bedroom and shut the door, feeling better to lock it as he climbed into bed with a groan, propping up the phone after putting it on the charger so he could look at her. "Better?"
