So this is all courtesy of my partner-in-crime @hydrachea, thank youuuuuu ♡, but I finally know what Boothill calls Dan Heng in the original Chinese and I'm so happy. He calls him xiongdi!

Boothill really just saw Dan Heng and decided they were close enough to call him this in his party join line, he's so affectionate, it's adorable and I love him 💗

I've seen some people actually push back against henghill saying Boothill calls Dan Heng by a familial term, so it can only strictly be a bromance/platonic ship, which is so silly? Like if someone who actually knows Chinese and is a part of the culture wants to chime in and correct me, that's cool, but it really looks like it's not a term that has any one exact meaning.

It can be familial if you want, or it can be friendly if you want. It's flexible and up to interpretation!

Personally I actually love the gangster definition most haha. Because a big part of my draw to these two is the sort of brothers-in-arms feeling between them; Boothill is someone who fought in a war for independence against colonization, after all. I'm sure camaraderie is a big deal and something important for him. And he and Dan Heng are fellow Pathstriders of The Hunt and they share a lot of ideals!

So there's something fun about it, that just feels very much like Boothill, for him to refer to Dan Heng as though they were members of the same gang smzjskozjsls

While Rozemyne is a dense doofus, I do get the concept of doing something you perceive to be very logical and reasonable with someone else and then having literally everyone assume it's romantic.

❛ Let's see... My favorite sound. It's an easy guess, obvious even. It's the sound of credits being deposited into my account, of course. ❜

He could have said the birds singing in the trees, or something pathetic like that, but credits is all that really matters, anyway. Credits dictates everything; who gets to live, who gets to die. To live life with an abundance of credits is to live another day.

What is his favorite sound? It's in the past.

I'm curious about something, Lucas realized that Athy liked Ijekiel when they were younger?

I mean, in the sense that he got jealous when they interacted, then I guess so. But the thing is, other than finding him handsome and charming, Athy never let herself get emotionally close to Ijekiel. This is more prominent in the novel, but you can see it in the manhwa too (Roger out of all people explicitly tells Ijekiel just that). So she never developed any real/deeper romantic feelings for him. I'm bringing that up because the only time when Lucas and Athy talked about her relationship with Ijekiel was when Athy had just rejected him. (In one of the best scenes of the whole novel, in my opinion) Athy is troubled about causing Ijekiel pain and she opens up about it to Lucas, how she always tried to put a distance between them but that she had to end up openly rejecting him, which made her feel bad for him. Lucas then replies that she doesn't have to feel guilt over not reciprocating anybody's feelings, as she didn't have that obligation, making Athy feel better. That's how their dynamic played and sorted out when they got older.

I'm just now realizing I've never made a full, serious, non-chibi drawing of Lee (the shogun WIP i just posted), and i KNEW I would realize this as soon as I made a drawing like this of him bc of how much I already like him from a writing standpoint, but uhh I want him actually.

I have this thing where I feel like I can’t show anything made up from my head unless I really polish it up, make them presentable,etc that’s my perfectionism speaking

anyway 

been thinking of musical instruments and equating them to my ocs. this certain one has a harpsichord representing him. It’s probably because of the 18th century inspired design he has and all; it’s just that precise plucking of strings that feels so calculating and fast through the automation of pressing keys that feels so aligned with his curated behavior.

but wait there’s more; another instrument that also represents him that’s not far from the previous one: the harp!?? It’s the other side he has that he rarely shows to others anymore; the more delicate, lighter and resonant sound made by directly plucking the strings, which is achieved in a arguably more difficult way, compared to merely pressing down on keys…
