To be honest, I don’t think I have a favourite sea creature. For now, due to my love for the Octa-trio, I have a big soft spot for moral eels and octopuses. A couple of years ago we had a phase during which we read a lot about sharks. The fact that baby sharks are called pups!! I’m still obsessed with this fact.

In general, sea is fascinating and truly beautiful, but it was never really my thing, so I don’t know much about different kinds of creatures… Should definitely work on that 🤔

Omg you’re right, we only posted him once (not counting a chibi drawing + fem!Leona in a big genderswap post). It’s so funny, I feel like I draw him every now and then because of commissions (thank you, everyone orz), but at the end of a day we barely have anything Leona-related. The only character less lucky than him is probably poor Cater…

To be completely honest, Leona just isn’t usually on my radar, and even though I sketch him sometimes, those sketches rarely get finished and are mostly posted on ko-fi. Sorry 😔

To Jamil it would absolutely be a joy though. I think some of Kalim’s relatives would try to bribe him out of helping Kalim though, “kill him in his sleep and we will give you a better life” type of deal. But Jamil would refuse~ Not because he’s loyal to Kalim or anything, of course of course.

Anon, this ship is so good visually with the size difference and all, and Epel salivating at the thought of Jack’s muscles because he really wants to have muscles himself (in reality he is just attracted to Jack) is such a good idea, and we absolutely see its potential… but unfortunately somehow they don’t click with us just yet. Maybe it’s because it feels too fluffy, with Epel getting in trouble and Jack getting him out of trouble? Maybe we’re missing this spice because we haven’t seen a lot of their interactions. Only time will tell…

Honestly,, , I wasn't happy LMAOOO, around the time I watched the anime for the first time i was actually still pretty into j.jba and unfortunately was really into dio U_U

I was fascinated by pouf as soon as I saw him in the opening, lots of neat ant designs and then this butterfly man?? I need to know everything about him 👀 His intro with the rainbows in the wings, the fairy chimes, the solo violin, all had me like 👁👁 Sir I Am Going To Study You Like The Insect You Are, and then I saw him actually play the violin and was sold lmao. He was funny as far as comic relief went and then? The giant improv ballet breakdown and antagonistic turn drew me in further and then I was invested in a no going back sorta way as soon as he went chibi for the first time, just watching the chaos of the entire scene with this ridiculous huge grin dhjdkxkf every single thing he did was in the extremes and it was like watching a train de-rail in real time, I saw him face down in the dirt at the end of the arc and didn't even feel anything, he was just so WILD

So I finish h.xh not too long after that and texted a friend and was like hmmm. I need to watch j.jba to return to my roots and also to forget that I think I might've accidentally given myself a lil crush on the butterfly man 😳 idk if that return ever happened but I DO remember being frustrated with how pretty he is,, I didn't really wanna shift hyperfixations at the time and also didn't know if it was attraction or gender envy bc. what I would give to simultaneously look so fem and so masc 👁 either way it was a 3 month struggle of "oh no oh my god I wanna kiss a bug so bad?? 😞" and then I caved at midnight in a denny's and was like okay. fine. I did, in fact, proceed to like it, enough to make an entire separate blog for him. It was a slow progression of "I mean, I'd share a ballroom dance with him, like a waltz maybe", "hmm okay he's funny but whatever", "oh uh. he uh. I mean he's neat, a lot of people didn't like him but I just think he's an interesting character 😳" and. and then I finally caved and I never stopped talking sjdkfkf though to be fair, I was already talking about him a LOT on my main, I just decided that maybe it would be nice to have a space to just. contain 90% of my poufposting LMAOOO

Final note on this, but I think what really got me is how many characters are in this series and yet I gravitated towards the one no one could stand 😞✌ though to be fair the hatred for him has definitely gone down compared to what I can remember from a few years ago; absolutely does not change the fact that He Is The Way He Is, but I saw the war crimes, malice, potentially treason, and I won't name it but it's by far the most uncomfortable thing to sit through in the arc, I saw ALL of that and still went hmmmm yes I want that one U_U true love huh

11) Do you think it's better to have copious amounts of content for your f/o, even with the risk of finding a lot of ship art, or better to have a lot less?

The art situation with him is strange bc there's a decent enough to be notable amount of art of him captioned with some variation of "I hated him but he had a really cool character design", but it's still content. Surprisingly, I actually don't track the tag for him but take a look at it anyways almost every day and there's maybe one new thing there like once a week, minimal content bc so many people just didn't like him, which is fair!! But also, he was definitely there as a prominent character, I'd just like to see more of him U_U I would put more art here but I'm too conscious of the art ops seeing my bs over here jdkdkfkk

There actually are a handful of ship art drawings of him, which astounds me bc this man wasn't there to make friends, not even with his own siblings :/, but the errant art of him with morel or kite is honestly pretty cute, please just let this man be happy, I love to see him smile 🥺

He wasn't the worst guard!! All three had reasons for doing what they did and arguably, pouf's motives were the most complex. Yes he did some pretty awful things, but he considered them to be the right thing to do without a doubt in his mind, all his actions were selfish in that they were based off his own feelings, but he did things ultimately for the king, so his actions also had an edge of selflessness to them as well. He was just. so much more than annoying and while his character development wasn't positive, it was still some pretty astounding growth; as an antagonist, he's also fairly plausible 👀 sometimes people just are manipulative, sometimes feelings do get the better of you, pouf just has all those factors amped up to 11 at all times so they're magnified. I have. a lot of thoughts on him, he interests me very much 😞👀🤔👀

Gogomaggedon Part 1

If you were a child between the ages of 4-12 in the late 2000s/early 2010s, chances are you’ve at least heard of Gogo’s Crazy Bones. Rebooted from a series from the 80s and 90s, (which we won’t be talking about because I didn’t grow up with them and to be quite honest don’t like them all that much) these funky plastic fellas were sold as collectible figures for kids, and their hyper-stylized chibi charm was certainly hard for myself and many others to resist! They were also intended to be used as pieces for various games, but I think I speak for most of my fellow Crazy Boners when I say that the main draw was the collectibility. For this review, I thought it might also be fun to give them all a rating out of 5 based on how I personally feel about them! I dunno! We’re trying new things! Mixing stuff up! It’s what we do here at Creature Carnival! So let’s get started with this Gogomaggedon because holy shit are there a lot of these little bastards!

Name: Mosh

Description: Super kind. All the Gogos want to be friends with Mosh.

Ability: Magic Smile

First, we have the main mascot of Gogo’s, Mosh! Every Gogo has a short little description and “ability” which serves to give us a little peek at their personality. Additionally, each Gogo comes cast in at least 5 different colored plastics as well, but I’ll be taking the one they use in the sticker pictures (courtesy of the Gogo’s Crazy Bones Wiki) as the “official” color. In regards to Mosh, the cynic in me really wants to be all, “Boring!! His main personality trait is that he’s nice? Lame!!!” But it’s a kids toy god darnit, and he’s just so gosh-damned cute! I love his little white tummy and his funny head-nubbins and his asymmetrical eyes and big bracket-shaped smile :] He’s just such a lovable whatsit! I would absolutely be friends with Mosh, and he makes for a great face for the franchise. Also, his name seems to imply that he likes to mosh, which is kind of hilarious to me.

Name: Moshi

Description: Avoids confrontation. Always brings goodness and peace.

Ability: Peacekeeper

That’s right! Series 2 of the modern Gogo’s franchise is called Evolution, and while I’m not exactly sure of the finer details, basically they just reused all the molds and put different prints on them. Also, the gimmick for Evolution is the fact that half of the 80 Gogos in the series are molded in translucent plastic with embedded glitter. Pretty striking! What’s the Series 1 gimmick, you ask? We’ll get to it, don’t worry! Maybe not in this review, but we’ll get to it! OKAY, with that out of the way, I’m so happy for Moshi’s transition! It’s almost a complete transformation, what with the anime-style face and everything! I honestly find the unevolved form more charming, but I still think Moshi is pretty undeniably cute.

Nasako is a funny little boxer guy. That’s really all I can say. Not even his description is giving me anything to work with here, I mean, come on. What does that even mean.

Now a funny little boxer clown guy, you say? That’s more like it! And with x-eyes and an old-timey one-piece bathing suit no less! Looks like Nasako finally decided to finish Clown College and get his degree! Good for him. Good for him.

Description: Ready for the fight. Where’s the ring?

Ability: K.O. Punch

Sato is, in my opinion, a much better-executed funny little boxer guy. The absence of any facial features other than a big ‘ol sneer is very charming, as well as the single white star. It’s not clear whether that’s an eye or a marking or what, but I always read it as an eye, and I think that’d be pretty cute.

Description: Always watchful in case action is needed.

Ability: Watchful Eye

Speaking of eyes, it seems one has come to dominate Satori’s entire head! The description tells us that they apparently act as some kind of sentry in case action is needed, but doesn’t say if they ever actually take action. Personally, I like to think they have some kind of eye beam that they can fire like “Beam of 10,000 Fists” or something like that.

Description: Nobody knows what he eats, but whatever it is, it isn’t doing him any good.

Ability: Eating

Okori’s main deal seems to be eating but I can’t really say for sure. Wish they’d made it clearer. He kind of reminds me of a bug-eyed Domo. Remember Domo? I remember Domo.

Description: Maybe some indigestion gave him a mushroom face.

Ability: Fungus Fury

I love how non-committal that description is. Like whoever wrote it was just like, “I don’t fuckin’ know, maybe some indigestion did it. Who gives a shit.” I for one am a big fan of this grumpy ‘gus. Maybe the reason the description reads like that is that Oky doesn’t give a shit either. Do you think his ability is some kind of spore blast or berserk mode or do you think it’s just him being generally aggravated? Even though I love cool special attacks, I find the latter more endearing.

Description: Clever and fun. He likes to be the boss.

Ability: Jumps Walls

I always read that tan shape as a big smiling mouth, but on closer inspection, it’s presumably just a hole in a mask which reveals a very uneasy expression. As far as my opinions on this guy go, he’s cute, but also relatively bland.

Description: He loves sports and can calculate how to win any race.

Ability: Numeric Memory

This is a marked improvement in my opinion, as Tori has apparently turned into some kind of robot with what I assumed to be a speedometer for a face. However, as the description indicates, he’s some kind of sports statistics whiz, so maybe it serves some other function? Either way, I get the feeling this guy is probably banned from most sport betting circles, but maybe he doesn’t even care. Maybe he’s just satisfied knowing how it’ll all fold out, and he doesn’t need anything else. Pretty sweet design overall, even for how simple it is.

300+ follow forever & happy 2018!

I cannot say how happy I am to see 2017 finally gone - this year was probably the worst one I ever experienced, with a multitude of things offline. The worst of it all was losing my father to a very sudden heart attack, and I am still dealing with the legal and sentimental consequences to this day. However, if there is one thing I’ll take with pride and joy from this year, this is definitively the time spent on this blog and with you all.

FFXV was the first game I experienced at the time of its release - I was too late to the party for the previous titles so this was an amazing experience: to share it all real time, to see people as excited as I was. As soon as I beat the game, I knew I needed to write Aranea and I’m so glad to have you all accompanying me while I do - or at least try to make her justice.

It took me a while to find her voice, to give her a background and reasons for her actions; I’m happy to know you either have a lot of free time or actually buy the things I have come up with so far! :D I absolutely love all the headcanons, the funny stories and the cool theories this fandom created and I’m pumped for the 1 year anniversary of this blog next January!

Without further ado, I wish you all a lovely 2018 - from the bottom of my heart, may all the negativity and the intolerance of this year be reduced or replaced by better attitudes in 2018. I will do my part and I hope to see more people taking it upon themselves to make the world a better place, a step at a day. I honestly believe we can do this if we quit moping and keep on hoping, yeah?

Thank you for everything, guys! I’ve added some additional words for some of the people who have become essential to this blog for most of this year - both for the mun and the muse, and I know many more will be added soon! Truly hope to see everyone for more shenanigans in 2018. :)
