Happy Valentine’s Day! I re-drew *that scene* from How to Train Your Dragon 2 with Mossy and Joyce because, well... let’s just say it fits. Lore and process talk under the cut.
February 2023
I don’t know how much lore I’ve actually dropped on these two over here, so I’ll start from the beginning. Mossflower joined the Brightvale Guard to support her younger siblings back home on Mystery Island. Joyce came over from Meridell because she wanted to get out of her family’s over-crowded farm in a way that wasn’t “get married and move down the road”.
She thought it’d be better over in Brightvale, but without the extensive education that most of the kingdom’s populace had, her job prospects were limited. Fortunately, there was a wraith threat looming and the one thing she had a lot of experience with was fighting.
Joyce and Mossy were assigned to the same unit and quickly became Very Good Friends. They weren’t intending on becoming anything more... until they went dancing together and found themselves dancing together long after the circle dances were over.
They started making plans. After their service was over, they’d move back to Mystery Island with Mossy’s siblings and start a life together. Jobs were still hard to come by there, but with no more schooling to pay for they could live comfortably enough on fruit and whatever savings they left with.
And then the wraiths attacked.
Their unit splintered, and the two were separated. Joyce tried to fight her way back through and it didn’t end well. She had unfinished business, though, so she stuck around. It was several days until she could bring herself to talk to her girlfriend (”Oh Fyora, get a grip! It wasn’t your fault!”) and several more before Mossy could see her.
Except... she wasn’t really seeing her. Joyce was fully capable of making herself visible and tangible, but she didn’t want to. It was better for Mossy to think of her the way she’d been before her death. Sure, it resulted in a discharge for her because she’d started talking to her dead girlfriend that no one else could see or hear, but they both thought that was for the best.
When Mossy went back home, Joyce came with. Things were good for a while, but then Joyce caught Mossy crying because she wanted to be able to hold her, and introduce her to her family, and...
“Well... what if you could?”
Joyce had been fully expecting rejection, but that was not what she got. She was still afraid of officially meeting the rest of the family, but she and Mossy could work on that.
Together.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So it’s been a long time since my tablet was up and running, but it’s back now, which means I’m back to finishing sketches I’ve been sitting on for a while! Not too much has changed for my process, except for remembering to put different characters on their own layers when I want to do blur effects (which, there’s gotta be a better way to do those in Krita, I just used the first brush from the pack my sister downloaded that looked decent).
But yeah, I had fun drawing these guys again, and there’s more Neopets art coming. Because that’s what I do now I guess lol. It’s not even that I haven’t been drawing humans, it’s that my interests cycle uncontrollably and I only feel like writing/gaming/drawing/knitting/what have you so often. But I feel like there’s definitely gonna be more Fashion since markers are fun and I wanna draw with them.

Part 2 of this fic like I promised! This was inspired by the PICTURE prompt provided by @throneofglassmicrofics may prompts but it doesn't fit the micro fic criteria. It's one thousand and something words. But, you'll soon find out, it was impossible to cut anything out. Thanks for reading!

~~~~~
Aelin picked up her robe and gracefully shrugged it onto her shoulders, pulling it across her body but not bothering to tie it. Rowan supposed all things considered, she wasn’t shy about her body. Her… antics during the shoot only proved that. With a knowing wink over her shoulder Aelin headed towards the refreshments table, cracking open a bottle of water. Instead of watching her like a transfixed idiot Rowan did what he was supposed to do and pulled out his laptop.
He inserted the SD card into the slot, clicking away when the photos appeared. A flurry of expletives overtook his brain because holy gods, these photos. Rowan ignored the heat in his cheeks, why was it suddenly so hot in here?
“How did we do?” Aelin called out.
Rowan turned, drawn to the sound of her voice. “Ah, good.” When Aelin raised a questioning brow he amended his answer. “Great, even.”
“Your confidence is astounding,” Aelin said sarcastically. “At least the merchandise is pretty and I get to keep it. It’s the one bonus of all these lingerie shoots that Arobynn likes to book. Fucking pervert.”
Rowan had to agree there. Aelin picked up a chocolate covered strawberry, her eyes lighting up in delight. Then she looked towards the door, and wariness set in and she put it down. It was like she was worried that pervert could see through the walls and judge her every move. In a blink of an eye that brief show of vulnerability was gone. She was smiling again, as sly as any assassin, and she was looking at him like he was her next target.
Aelin walked over, still wearing those heels and each step with a deliberate sway of her hips. Rowan went back to his screen, willing the torture to end soon. Little did he know but it was only about to intensify as Aelin lent in, close enough that the softness of her body pressed into him—and he tried very hard to ignore exactly where their bodies met. But no, he couldn’t, not when her hair tickled across his cheek, the scent of her perfume filling his nose. Rowan was all but gone when Aelin dragged her clothed breast over the bare skin of his bicep. His jaw was tight as he refused to let his gaze shift away from the screen in front of him.
“I like this one,” she tapped a manicured fingernail on his screen.
Rowan opened the thumbnail on instinct and almost failed to suppress his groan when he realised his mistake. The picture Aelin had chosen… it was one small step away from pornograhic. Lost in his creative flow he had just snapped away, capturing everything. Kneeling on the bed, Aelin's bottom lip was tucked between her teeth, her eyes half-lidded but focused enough to send her sultry gaze down the lens. One hand pulled the fabric of her flimsy bra down enough that the edge of her nipple was exposed and the other hand splayed across her hip. She looked like the most decadent of sins.
Swallowing once, Rowan replied, “They can’t use that one.”
”No, but you can.”
The words surprised him enough that Rowan turned— found himself nose to nose with Aelin. There was a sweet smile on her lips, as if she hadn’t been tormenting him for the last forty-five minutes. The need to kiss her was overwhelming. Rowan had his resolve by the reins, he was in control, but then her eyes dipped down to his…
Aelin stood straighter, moving the laptop away and putting a hand on his shoulder to guide her as she circled to stand in front of him. Rowan wasn’t breathing as she put her thighs over his own, straddling him in the chair. Heat flushed his cheeks when she felt the hard-on he hadn’t been able to will away. Aelin sighed, sinking further into his lap with just the smallest roll of her hips. He had to fight his baser instincts not to return the movement in kind.
Aelin’s eyes focused on Rowan’s face, and she lent in just a little. “Thank you for looking after me.”
Rowan didn’t exactly remember putting his hands on Aelin’s waist, but they were there, his thumbs brushing over the soft silk of gauzy robe. “I—” he realised he hadn’t the faintest idea where his sentence was going. “It’s what you deserve.”
“Do you want to kiss me, Rowan?” Aelin asked, her head tilting enough to send her hair swaying.
His hands tightened on his waist, he didn’t have it in him to lie. “I do.”
That was all the permission Aelin needed. She closed the distance, not playing around with anything soft. The kiss was just as fierce as she was, and Rowan gave back as good as he got. He dipped his tongue into Aelin’s mouth, making her chase him for more. She moaned when he caught her top lip with his teeth, stoking the fire between them.
Aelin pulled back far enough to let the robe fall away, exposing swathes of skin for him to touch—to taste. And Rowan did just that. He knew how easy it was to pull the lace of her bra down, so he did. For months he wondered what it would feel like to have her warm skin beneath his palm, so he found out. He wanted to know what noise Aelin might make as he kissed her while he toyed with the peak of her breast. His curiosity was more than answered.
The sweet noises Aelin made had his cock hardening further and all the threads of his control snapping. When the harshness of her next moan broke the kiss Rowan took the opportunity to urge her taller in his lap, his head bowing to take her nipple in his mouth. He worshipped her, all the while she rode him, writhing over him.
“Oh Gods, Rowan,” Aelin gasped.
Rowan pressed opened mouthed kisses over her cleavage and up her neck. “Tell me I can, Aelin,” he whispered in her ear, pushing her down against his cock. She was already so close, but he didn’t want her to come until he was inside her. “Tell me I can fuck you.”
”Yes,” Aelin replied, her hands cupping his face. “I might just murder you if you don’t.”
That made Rowan laugh. “If those are the stakes.”
He stood, carrying Aelin to the bed. When her body hit the mattress she sprawled out beneath him. Rowan wasted no time, pulling his t-shirt over head and unbuttoning his jeans and kicking them off. Aelin’s bright eyes ran over him, taking in every inch of him. He did the same, his hands leading a trail up to her thighs. Aelin hadn’t bothered to fix what he’d pulled out of place earlier and now her own hand toyed with her exposed breast, pebbling the skin beneath. The sight had him bowing down to the closest skin he could find—that was the skin of her left thigh.
“May I?” Rowan breathed onto her skin, his fingers playing with the waistband of her underwear.
“You fucking better,” Aelin demanded.
He couldn’t help it, the sass had a low chuckle rumbling through him but he reprimanded her by sinking his teeth into her upper thigh. If she thought he had any inclination of stopping she was the wrong kind of insane. Fucking on a photoshoot set when anyone could walk through the doors, that was the right kind of insanity for him. Aelin’s gasp was more of a moan and Rowan took some delight in the pink mark he’d left behind. Then he’d had enough of waiting.
Rowan had the patience not to rip the underwear off, but dragged them down her legs and then bracing himself over Aelin. His hand drifted between her legs, feeling her swollen clit and how ready she was for him just from grinding on his lap. The moan that came from her mouth sounded desperate, her hips bucking as Rowan lightly flicked a finger over the bud. Aelin pulled him down, kissing him and urging him closer with a knee hooked over his hip. The tip of his cock dragged over the slickness between her thighs, her hips rising up to encourage him closer. Rowan’s fraying patience didn’t allow room for playing games. A roll of his hips and he was pushing into her tight heat, groaning at the feeling of it. Aelin gave a shuddering sigh, throwing her head back. It allowed Rowan to kiss the length of her neck, careful not to leave any evidence of what they were doing behind.
“Give me everything, Rowan,” Aelin breathed on his lips, holding him tighter.
So he did, their bodies moving together. Aelin begged for harder and faster, and Rowan followed the demands as they were given. There was no knowing how long they had left, and even though he may not have been able to draw this out as long as he would have liked, he was savouring every second of it. Every sound, every feeling, this would haunt him. Aelin was perfection, he’d be wrecked and begging for her after this.
Aelin cried out as her pleasure crested, slapping a hand over her mouth before she gave them away. Her eyes danced with mirth, but then they rolled back as Rowan changed the angle of his hips. Pressure built as the base of—he was close too.
Then he realised they hadn’t bothered with protection, his sex hazed brain struggled to figure out what he needed to do next. His hips slowed and Aelin groaned in protest, her heel digging into his lower back.
“Don’t stop,” she begged through gritted teeth.
“But Aelin—”
The pressure on his back built and Aelin looked right into his eyes and said, “Don’t you fucking dare stop.”
The urgent and messy kiss she gave him was the acceptance Rowan needed, thrusting deep and hard like Aelin had begged of him. Her sharp but quiet moans showed how close she was, and only when she shuddered around him, shaking and moaning into the skin of his neck did Rowan let himself go, spilling into her. He fucked into her until oversensitivity made him stop. Aelin was panting beneath him, her hands running idle paths over his body.
It was hard to believe what they’d just done, but Rowan regretted none of it. Not when he drew back just enough to see Aelin smiling back at him.
“I’ve wanted to do that forever,” she said softly, nudging her nose against him.
Rowan pressed a soft to her lips. “Likewise.”
Aelin let out a bright burst of laughter, ruining the kiss and maybe his heart as well. She was brave and strong, and Rowan might turn to religion and start praying that this wasn’t the last time they got to do this. A horn blared from the street, breaking the quiet of the room and the spell they had both been under.
“I need to get dressed,” Aelin said.
Nodding, Rowan helped her up, trying his best to make sure that they wouldn’t leave behind any messy incriminating evidence. For a moment they stood there, Aelin looping her arms around his neck. They shared one more kiss, enough to ignite the heat back into Rowan’s blood. But they didn’t have time for anything else, and they both knew it.
“Thank you,” Aelin said and then turned away, walking off to the small bathroom.
Rowan gathered his clothes, slipping each piece on, those two words echoing in his mind. He couldn’t explain why, but they had sounded like a goodbye.
Again, thanks for reading this most definite two part fic that I have absolutely of course stopped thinking about entirely
Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook
Asus Chromebook CXA Review - The Bottom Line Chromebooks are a great way to get online without having to carry around a lot of hardware. The Asus Chromebook CXA is one of the more popular models on the market, and for good reason. It has a great price point, strong performance, and plenty of features. One thing to note about this Chromebook is that it doesn’t have an HD display. That being said, it still looks good and performs well enough for most tasks. As with all Chromebooks, battery life can be a bit short compared to traditional laptops, but overall this is one of the best options available.
Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook (Ryzen 3250C / 4GB RAM / 128GB storage)
The Asus Chromebook Cxa was designed with students and professionals in mind. It has a sleek design and comes with a variety of features that make it perfect for online school or work. The Cxa has an impressive processor, 4GB ofmemory, and a 128GB storage capacity. All of these features come at a price, but the benefits make it worth the investment. One of the best things about this chromebook is its performance. This machine can handle any task you throw at it and is perfect for students who need to do heavy research or productivity work. Its battery life is also impressive, lasting up to 10 hours on average. One downside to this chromebook is its weight; at 2 pounds it's not the easiest to take with you wherever you go. But overall, this is one of the most powerful chromebooks on the market and well worth your money
Laptop Mag. Verdict
The Asus Cxa is one of the newest Chromebooks on the market, and it packs a lot of features for its price. It has a 11.6 inch display that is HD resolution, and it also comes with an Intel Celeron processor. The battery life is also very good, thanks to the large battery that it comes with. Another great feature of this laptop is the backlit keyboard, which makes it easy to use in low light conditions. However, there are some downsides to consider when considering this laptop as well. For example, the Cxa doesn't have a lot of ports, so if you want to connect additional devices you'll need to find a way to do so other than using the USB port. Additionally, some users have found that the trackpad isn't very sensitive, which can make it difficult to use in some scenarios. Overall, though, the Asus Cxa is a great choice for someone looking for a budget-friendly Chromebook that offers plenty of features and good performance.... Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3
The Chromebook range has had a bit of a shakeup in recent months, with the introduction of the Lenovo Legion series. The Legion was an excellent device, but it's been replaced by the Lenovo Duet 3. The Duet 3 is an interesting device. On the one hand, it's very similar to the Legion. It has a 12-inch display, an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 64GB solid state drive. The only real difference is that the Duet 3 has two micro SD slots instead of one. So what does this mean for users? Well, if you want to use more than one application at once then you'll need to buy another memory card. Alternatively, you could use one slot to store your work and use the second slot for your personal files. Overall, we think the Duet 3 is a good device. Its design is beautiful and its performance is excellent. If you're looking for a Chromebook that will do everything that you need it to then we recommend picking up a Duet 3
my randomizer adventures so far: i spent at least two hours setting it up between my laptop, my dad's, and my brother's (mine doessn't have an sd card slot, and my dad's was so slow i wanted to throw it in a lake), i took the wii out of the sitting room bc it looked awful on the big tv, set it up in my room after drilling a hole in the back of my shelves so the wires could fit, tried to plug it in only to realise that my tv doesn't have av plugs, looked for the av to scart adapter that my dad is "pretty sure he still has", didn't find it.
ORICO External CD/DVD Drive Review - Still Good In 2023?
For the past week we have been testing out the ORICO U3-02 external optical drive. Yes i know RW drives might be really dated these days and in 2023 its very hard to find a Laptop that has one built in but if you have those old family videos fading away on DVD/RW disc then this drive might be the best option to choose.
First of all, with the Orico drive, its plug and play so you don't have to worry about adding any type of software. The U3-02 disc drive is compatible with both CD and DVD formats, as-well as you being able to slot in a classic massive SD card or even a micro SD card. The drive will rip CD'S and DVD's in under 6 Minutes with burning to disc being more swifter, burning films to disc in just a few minutes.
The RW drive, runs silent, never getting too hot when watching movies on a PC, but the only thing we did notice is that the drive is not as durable as others on the market, so you will indeed need to place the optical drive into the box, if example, you are wanting to take it around with you while on the go. i went to best buy today (yesterday cuz it's 1:41 am now) and i was just going there to buy a USB-A to USB-C cable and a set of composite video cables because one of the USB ports on my laptop died and i have a modern laptop so it has fuck all in terms of ports (it has two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, ethernet, 3.5mm headphone microphone combo/jack, and an SD card slot and the other USB-A port is occupied by the receiver for my wireless keyboard (the 'd' key on the laptop keyboard doesn't work) and i needed the composite video cables because i have an A/V switcher for composite and s-video so i don't need to unplug and replug in cables to switch between the TV, Wii, and my VCR/DVD combo unit (when i get that plugged in again, at least)
and yeah anyways i found those at the store (well i actually couldn't find just a USB-A to USB-C adapter, i had to buy a fuckin USB file transfer cable that came with an adapter 🙄🙄🙄) BUT i also found a four port USB-C hub, which is also cool if i need to plug in more than three fucking things to my laptop BUT THAT'S NOT THE COOLEST THING I FOUND AT BEST BUY
I FOUND A FUCKIN EXTERNAL BLURAY DRIVE!!! it was on sale too for only $80!!!
absolutely i bought it because i literally have no bluray player* and even tho it looks like you need two free USB-A ports to use it (which would be annoying even if my laptop still had both USB-A ports working considering they're on different sides) a review on their website said 'yeah if you get a USB-A to USB-C adapter, it'll just work out of one USB-C port just fine' and YEAH IT DOES
AND I GOT BDs PLAYING THROUGH VLC TOO. i know i'll have to keep that one file with like the BD keys up to date but i own like 4 or 5 BD movies right now and i'm not exactly regularly buying them, so just bookmark the link to that file and update it when i buy a new thing on BD and bam, i'm fine
*yeah i know, it's literally 2023, bluray has been a thing since 20-fucking-06 and streaming media is (sadly) taking over and i still don't have a bluray player SHUT UP my main TV is literally still a CRT and i have a VCR still (pretty sure i have two VCRs actually, maybe three - not sure if i got rid of one of them), do i look like the type of autistic bitch who keeps up with modern media formats?
Ok so I saw your comment ab raspberry pi. I've never heard ab that b4, so it sent me down a rabbit hole. I've been doing research on the raspberry pi 400 for two hours, and I think I have a decent handle on it, but I'm very new. Do you know anything about it and, if you do, can you explain it to me like I'm a toddler?
f I own six Raspberry Pi boards and use them for various projects.
Basically, a Raspberry Pi is a tiny motherboard with all of the basic hardware functions of a standard computer built onto the board through the same kind of chips you might find inside your phone.
Each board has different specs, but they all contain:
-HDMI display port (Standard, mini, or micro depending on the size and model.)
-USB ports (2x USB 2.0 on model 1B and B+, 2x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0 on models 2, 3 and 4, 1x microUSB on all Zero models) These are important because you need them to plug in your actual hardware (mouse/keyboard, wi-fi, printer etc.)
-SD or MicroSD card slot (Standard SD on 1b, Micro on all other models) This will be the real meat of your projects. All Raspberry Pi models require a microSD card with an operating system, which will be treated as your main system disk. The default OS is Raspberry Pi OS, which you can find on the Raspberry Pi foundation’s website. (https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads)
You will have to download the OS file yourself and install it to the SD card. There are two special programs to do this, if you’re on Windows.*
Raspberry Pi Imager does exactly what it says - writes the OS to the SD card. It’s more convenient if you already know what you’re doing.
For someone just getting started, I would recommend the NOOBS installer. You just have to put the files from the zip file on your SD card, hook the Pi up to your TV, plug in your peripherals, and connect the Pi to a power source. NOOBS will run automatically, and you will be able to choose an OS to install. Besides Raspberry Pi OS, there are also OSMC and LibreElec, which allow your Pi to be turned into a media player like a Roku or Fire Stick.**
Another popular OS is RetroPie, which allows you to play video games from older systems like SNES, PS1 and Sega Genesis.
The larger Pi models have an Ethernet port, meaning you can connect the Pi directly to your router for Internet connection, or to your desktop for laptop or a direct network connection between the two.
All models after the Pi 2 (except the Zero) have onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. This means that you don’t need to plug in a reciever in the USB port, and you can directly connect a Bluetooth device (such as a keyboard) if you have one.
My current Pi projects:
Entertainment center with RetroPie and Kodi (media player software from LibreElec and OSMC) on Raspberry Pi 4 Printer server on Raspberry Pi B
Virtual altar for witchcraft on Raspberry Pi 3
*You can do this with dd in a terminal if you’re on Linux. **You will not be able to play Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime out of the box. Doing so requires a specific setup with external programs in which your desktop computer acts as a media server.
