Chan may be an idiot, but at least he’s self-aware.
He knew it was a bad idea to get his hopes up; to expect that things would change quickly between you, if at all. Even though he saw the letdown coming from a kilometer away, he didn’t do a thing to brace himself for it. It’s his fault, he knows, for exaggerating his place in your life — but that doesn’t make the disappointment bruise any less when the week after your wisdom teeth removal flies by in radio silence.
The lack of conversation isn’t for lack of trying. As he scrolls through your half-vacant text thread now, Chan feels all his efforts staring back at him. All those attempted check-ins marked delivered but not well-received. Swings and misses.
Prior to sending each one of them, he spent minutes upon minutes agonizing over the tone — and the use of emojis — and the possible implications of the proposed emojis — and the fear that he’d just come off clingy, not invested. Reading the finished versions back now, he can recall with perfect accuracy the drafts he typed out and immediately, feverishly deleted. Considering the way they litter his brain, there may as well be a trail of crumpled-up notes in all that metadata.
Does it make Chan cringe to look back and watch himself flatline? Absolutely.
Does that stop him from salting his own wounds? Nope. It never has and likely never will.
Maybe, he figures, he’ll spot where he went wrong and find a way to un-dig this ditch he’s seemingly made.
[Sent 2024/7/23, 15:22] Just got home. Have you fallen back asleep already? Lol
Naver says your swelling might be kind of bad tomorrow. Do you need ice packs? I have the gel kind that you can mold. Might be more comfortable than a bag of ice cubes 🤔 Lmk!

[Sent 2024/7/29, 00:16] Hey
Or maybe, he thinks, he’ll just beat his head against his bedroom wall instead; and eventually, he’ll forget what it felt like to be yours for the day, rather than a night.
Four more days pass without a word from you. Under normal circumstances, one of you would’ve invited the other over at least twice in the eleven days since your dental appointment. No matter how infrequently the two of you chatted outside of your recurrent trysts, neither one of you has ever gone this long without summoning the other.
Something is wrong.
At this point, Chan sees two explanations for the way you’ve fallen completely off the grid: you’ve either succumbed to some tragic, post-op. complication and died, or he’s irreparably fucked something up with you without knowing how or when he misstepped. Neither one of those is an outcome he’s willing to accept.
The voice in his head nags him so forcefully and consistently that his body eventually gives in. Undeterred by his better judgment, Chan lets it guide him up, out, and onward until he winds up on the sidewalk outside his building.
On the walk to your apartment, he mulls over the foreseeable consequences of the actions he’s already set in motion. It’s certifiably insane to pop in you like this, and once again, he only sees two options: you’ll slam the door in his face, or he’ll confirm once and for all that you’ve left this mortal coil. Bad on all counts, really, but anything is better than nothing.
His timing, as it turns out, couldn’t be better. Right as he lands at the front door, when he needs to think of a way to get in without buzzing you, a neighbor he’s seen once or twice before opens it to leave. Politely, they hold it open for him, likely mistaking him for someone with any right to be there — someone whose proximity to you actually makes sense. Chan thanks them with a nod of his head and a sheepish smile before slipping through the opening.
As the elevator ascends, his fingers move of their own accord, anxiously tapping out a rhythm on the stainless steel wall he leans against. Every worst-case scenario flashes through his mind. There’s a flash of something else there, too, though. Something even more nerve-wracking than all his catastrophizing; something that makes his stomach flip.
Hope.
“Oi, none of that,” he mutters to himself.
It doesn’t work. When Chan approaches the doors in the second before they open, he makes eye contact with his reflection and sees that easy, ill-advised smile creeping up on him.
As he exits that giant metal box, he shakes his head with an anxious laugh. If he’s this embarrassed by himself when he’s alone, the chances of him living through the way you’re about to look at him are…
Well…
Abysmal.
But that doesn’t stop him from powering his way down the hall towards your door. Coincidentally, neither does the fact that he doesn’t have a plan for what he’ll do when he reaches it.
Figuring knocking is as good a start as any, that’s precisely what Chan does, shifting his weight from one foot to the other to appear more nonchalant.
Then, he waits.
And then, he waits some more.
After thirty seconds pass without a response, Chan knocks again, carefully balancing the weight of his fist against it so the sound of it isn’t too assertive — or too eager — or too desperate — or —
“Left about an hour ago,” a voice says from a few meters away.
Chan turns towards the sound. Several units down, an old woman’s head pokes out of an open doorway. He can’t tell if she’s intentionally frowning at him or if it’s the weight of her jowls pulling the corners of her mouth down. Either way, it feels bad.
Running an anxious hand over the back of his increasingly warm neck, he coughs, “Oh?”
The ajumma clicks her tongue disapprovingly. “You young people never put those cell phones down and yet you still wind up like this.” She works herself up further; her nostrils flare as she rambles, “In my day, it was rude to show up unannounced. We called ahead, and when we called ahead, people were there to answer the door.”
Chan isn’t above arguing with some personified wrinkle, but he likes to think you would be. Even though you’re not here to witness it, it feels important to be the person you might like him to be.
So, he bites his tongue.
He nods yet again with a polite smile.
He turns on his heels.
And when he shuffles back towards the elevator, there’s a hell of a lot less of a spring in his step.
Two days go by after Chan’s little fieldtrip. Just like the previous several, they slip away quietly. This time, however, he doesn’t check-in — doesn’t type out his thoughts just to immediately erase them; doesn’t stare at his phone and wait to prove it to himself that it won’t chime.
Lesson learned, really.
It was a bad idea to bet the house on maybes. He knew it on the front end and still chose optimism; now, it serves him right. Played stupid games and won stupid prizes, as you like to say. If only he could stop thinking about what you like to say and instead focus on the fact that you haven’t said anything at all.
Chan grits his teeth and tries hard to focus on the game lighting up his monitor. Whatever Yongbok talked him into playing doesn’t make him feel any better about fumbling you — in fact, it’s proving to be yet another thing he’s terrible at — but it’s sufficiently distracting to have his friends swearing each other up and down in their Discord voice channel.
Actually, he stands corrected. This is also terrible, albeit a different flavor of garbage than his hopeless mooning over you.
Maybe radio silence is better.
As soon as that thought crosses his mind, his phone buzzes against the surface of his desk — three long taps bookended by three short ones.
Before Chan reaches for it, he lets the poetry of it all sink in. SOS, his phone declares whenever you text him. Originally, although he’ll never fucking tell you so, he chose that text tone because hearing from you salvaged his day, every time. Now, it reminds him that he’s in over his head with no life preserver in sight.
Not bad, he thinks. He should write that bit down in the notebook of lyrics he ruminates over but never puts to music, let alone shares.
The lack of action on his part prompts his phone to vibrate again for emphasis.
SOS!
Beaming white light bores into his retinas when he finally opens his inbox, and Chan refuses to think about the million times you’ve told him to switch to dark mode or the infinitely-brighter shit he’s been roasting under since he started this game several hours back. All he thinks about instead is the first grey text in an ocean of blue:
[2024/8/04, 23:37] you up?
You tilt your head to the side, smiling coyly when you crack open the door and find Chan standing on your doorstep with his hood up and hands in his pockets. Outside the windows behind you, the downpour he just trudged through continues to dampen his mood.
“Fancy meeting you here,” you lilt, like nothing has changed at all.
That’s the problem, isn’t it?
Chan lifts his chin slightly as some half-assed nod to let you know that his ears work, if nothing else. Either missing his stony expression or ignoring it, you simply open the door wider, beckoning him to follow you with a gentle wave of your free hand.
He wants so badly to smile back at you as easily as you smile at him — really, he does, but fuck, he can’t make his face do anything but harden.
Once he toes off his shoes, he expects you to lead him straight to your room — or your couch — or any of the other various surfaces the pair of you have misappropriated along the way. You don’t, though. With your lips pensively pursed, you shuffle a bit closer; and as soon as you can reach him properly, you raise both of your hands. One flattens against his now rain-soaked sweatshirt; the other goes for his zipper, tugging gently until there’s nothing left to hold him together.
Carefully, Chan eyes you; watches while you slip the fabric off his shoulders, as if it isn’t twice as heavy as it was when he put it on. Like it’s easy, you turn away, open the nearby closet, and toss that wet mess into the top-half of your standing washer-dryer.
“I think…” Your tiny, upward curve returns while your sentence peters out. Softly, you reach up and brush a damp curl off his forehead. “An umbrella would be a worthwhile investment.”
He should join in on the bit. He should banter right back. He should smile, too — for fuck’s sake — because you’re finally right here. You’re talking to him within touching distance, radiating warmth he wants to live in, and he should touch you the way you want to be touched — the way you summoned him here to touch you.
He should do a lot of things, none of which include snapping at you, and yet —
“Why the hell am I here?”
It catches you both off-guard. You, because Chan has never once spoken to you any other way but kindly. Him, because you don’t actually look all that surprised by the sentiment, even if the presentation isn’t what you expected.
Somehow, that’s the thing that stings the most; not the way your face falls at his gruffness but the inkling you must have had before you asked him over that things between you aren’t sitting right at all.
Chan doesn’t get a response, so he asks another way: “Did you notice all of those unanswered texts when you sent yours, or did you ignore them all over again?”
It dawns on you — and him too, if he’s being honest — that you’ve still got your hands resting delicately on his chest. You reel your arms back in and cross them, not defiantly but diminutively. You shrink right in front of him; and regret hits him like a fist to the side of his skull.
“I didn’t know what to do with them.” Your head lowers while you do your best to look anywhere else.
That’s —
“Bullshit. I’m sorry, but it’s really not hard to keep up a conversation, especially when someone is just asking how you’re feeling.” Instantly he feels terrible for snapping. Softening his tone slightly, he sighs, “I know you know how.”
You look up at him without tilting your head much at all. Peering over that brick wall of yours, he figures. “That’s the thing, though. I don’t know.”
The face he pulls must convey what he’s thinking: Are you fucking kidding me? But you’re quick to prevent him from jumping to any further-out conclusions, amending, “I don’t know how I feel.”
Chan opens his mouth to respond, then thinks better of it. It’s rare for you to open up to the extent you might be about to; and it’s a miracle that you might be willing to now, given the fact that he’s come at you blindly at 160 kilometers per hour.
“I don’t like needing people.”
Your attention is drawn to your fidgeting fingers and the drawstring of the sweatpants they occupy themselves with. The overwhelming urge he feels to grab them, to hold them still, goes ignored and makes his own hands tense. He focuses hard on your face instead; the crease between your eyebrows while you plot out your next steps.
“I didn’t want to need you, but then I did need you — and you just… you came, no questions asked.” You laugh, either despite your visible discomfort or because of it. “Held my hand and all that, didn’t just drop me on the curb and say, hit me up when you’re down again.”
Chan feels as if he’s been punched, although it’s not offense he takes from your statement. Judging by that flicker of hurt in your eyes, the expectation you had wasn’t for him, personally. It was history.
You shift where you stand from one foot to another, like that weight on your shoulders is changing. He doesn’t know if it’s getting heavier or lighter until you finally lift your chin to look at him squarely.
“It scared the shit out of me, honestly — how easy you are to need — so, I did what I always do: I bailed.” Sighing, you finally seem to register how much anxiety you’re holding in your hands. You drop it, then drop them to your sides. “But I think I’ve figured it out.”
You smile slightly, and suddenly, he feels lighter. “I’ve been conflating them, but they’re completely different things, aren’t they?”
Chan arches an eyebrow. Truly, he’s at a loss. He can’t predict which direction you’re about to turn in. Seeming to sense this, you answer his unasked question, “Wanting to need you and wanting you.”
While this makes his brain pause, his body moves. Cautiously, he steps forward and watches you counter him until your back is flush against the wall behind you.
“Can I have a definition, then, please?” He pleads, voice low, while his hands gently claim your hips. “Because I thought it was want behind the booty call that brought me here, and I don’t want to find myself on a completely different page again.”
You link your arms around his neck and eye him carefully. “It was,” you acknowledge with a small nod. “Different kind, though — a shallow one.”
Chan finds his mouth curving up at the corner, all on its own. His gaze drops from yours to your lips, then back again. It’d be so easy to kiss you now, but he can’t unless he gets some sort of confirmation. “We’re in the deep end now, then?”
“Moving that way, at least. I spook easily, though…” You’d probably love nothing more than to look away when you admit that bit out loud, but to your credit, you don’t. Instead, you run your fingernails softly through the hair at his nape. “I’m not entitled to any more of your patience, but would you be willing to take it one day at a time?”
Chan wishes that he’d at least pretended to consider this. He doubts you’ve ever had a vision of him as someone nonchalant — in fact, he’s the poster boy for chalance in whichever reality that word exists — but it would’ve been infinitely cooler of him not to respond immediately and wholeheartedly with a rushed sigh, “Fuckin’ right, I am,” before leaning in to kiss you absolutely stupid.
Whatever gratification he can’t find by licking into the mouth you open eagerly for him, he finds in the way you keen when he presses his body more fully against yours. The payoff is even better when he stops short, divorcing your respective lips entirely.
“I’m not gonna fuck you,” he announces, breathless. His grin widens; meanwhile, your eyebrows shoot up your forehead. “No! Not, like, never — I don’t have that kind of resolve — but not tonight.”
The sudden switch makes you dizzy. Thankfully, it makes you laugh, too.
“Don’t tell me you just want to enjoy my company,” you warn. You attempt to say it earnestly, but a smile cracks you wide open. “I’m still too prone to bolt when I hear cute shit like that.”
Chan shakes his head. “No, I’m telling you to plant yourself on that couch —” He pulls his right hand off your left hip and gestures blindly over his shoulder. “I’m also telling you that I am getting takeout.”
You narrow your eyes in feigned suspicion. “I wonder what you could possibly be ordering.”
“Belated pork belly is better than no pork belly.” He narrows his eyes to mirror hours, then kisses you quickly, murmuring, “One for the road,” against your lips.
Then, he dashes off towards your front door. As he goes, he just barely catches you nagging him through your laughter:
“If you’re not going to wait for your sweatshirt, can you at least take an umbrella?”

No Rest For The Dragons
Prince Jacaerys Velaryon x reader Setting: During The Dance of The Dragons Summary: All is quiet but no sense of peace can be caught between your fingertips, not even at night and so it is difficult to find sleep. Not until you win the war and crown your prince victorious...Your betrothed, Jacaerys, seems to have other priorities. Warnings: Brief talk of war dividers by: saradika wordcount: 1,412
A yawn tumbled past your lips with ease and a quiet whine quickly followed. Jacaerys Velaryon had never found anything more sweet in his entire existence but he wouldn’t tell you that…not yet at least. His eyes flickered over your sleepy face, the squished cheeks and rumbled hair. It made his heart throb, a desperation took hold to tighten his chest and squeeze. Slowly, he tucked his lower lip between his teeth and bit down. He could barely contain himself from cupping your jaw and pressing a kiss to those lips. His sleeping beauty…his beautiful briar…he would need to bring you a rose soon just for the sake of it because he never did think there was a world in which you were not his Aurora. Some universe in which he didn’t long for you. The backs of his fingers carefully caressed your face. The skin was so soft–practically begging for him to lay upon his gentle pecks of devotion–and yet he restrained himself. You may be his betrothed but you are not yet his wife. He must recall that, if he is to keep your honour…A grunt peeked through his teeth at the thought. The thought that anybody could see you as anything less than a guide of honour and duty as you fought at his side, on his very dragon with a bow and arrow within your hands. A quiver danced along the prince’s bones. He may think you to be beautiful in any state but he would gladly gift upon you anything you so much as dreamed or desired if you were to allow that to be his final sight. His last. The sight of you upon Vermax and casting down the enemy.
A smile flittered his lips as you stirred and stretched in his lap. “No, no go back to sleep.” He cooed, brushing back your hair and placing a wet flannel at your forehead. You were in your gentlest state this eve. You fended off his hand like a weak squirrel to reluctant avail. “Rest my love. You must rest.” The whine escapes the seam of your mouth before you can escape it. “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” You practically taunt with your eyelids finally parting to peer up at him. As much as he wants to scoff and argue, he cannot help but smile down at the soft albeit exhausted face. Amusement laces his face but he lets his brow pinch. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to allow that.” You send a pointed look his way. “You would deny your wife?” “You would deny your prince?” He counters with playfulness and yet something excites him about the way ‘wife’ leaves your lips. How smoothly it goes…It only reminds him of how long he has deprived himself of kissing them. Of feeling the sweet flutter of lightning that would passes over your skin. His hand would dance throughout your hair, he was sure of it, sure that one the day of your wedding, he would summon all the strength he had been willing himself to retain and finally let go. He would deny himself for centuries if it meant you would let him bind himself to you for eternity–if you would let him vow until his throat dried up. If they were not to be his final words, he would repeat them until they were destined. He would be yours, he was sure of it. He does not say this of course as you sigh with a pointed stare.
It was the determination in your gaze that he adored above all. That very crinkle in your brow that arose whenever anybody were to question you. His throat bobs as he recalls how his hand would slide along to the small of your back–support from the true prince and heir of the iron throne–delighting as you took the lead. Happy to await your debates cease as you charged your mouth at any who claimed your position unfit. None of these men knew the battlefield as you did. None of these men had studied the art so intensively for this very moment. None of these men would protect him like you did, he was sure of it. And certainly none of them had helped teach him the ways of battle so that he could protect his own hide should something go askew. Now as he watches you, he lets his eyes wander along the small scars upon both your hands at such teachings. Your childhood together had been an entertaining ordeal; scars of book pages, scars of dragon mishaps, scars of blades…He wouldn’t trade those tiny indents for the world. He would not even trade for the oncoming victory of his mother’s crown. He would not.
Instead, Jacaerys’ breath hitches but he does not complain at your defiance. He welcomes it. “My darling, you must rest if you are so determined to fight beside me.” His words are teasing but the plummet of hardness cannot be unheard. He had always been serious. “I cannot allow myself the sight of injury should you–” His throat bobs but you hardly change your mind. “It could cause injury to you should I not properly plan our route.” The retort jumps from your tongue and he can tell this has been boiling for some time now, that the bubbles were ever-present. You’ve been locking this inside your mind for too long now. Far too long. His curled fingers glide down your cheek before stopping at your chin. He lifts it as delicately as he would a broken leaf and gazes sweetly into your eyes. “You can do this well rested. We have time.” “But what if–” “We have time.” He reassures you with the confidence of his ancestor, King Jaehaerys The Wise. Your shoulders slump reluctantly. You should trust him, you know you should–you are so very tired but the night is still relatively young and the troupes must still be waiting outside for you. Jace catches as your eyes track the opening of the tent and he is quick to soften you. “I told them we would resume our meetings tomorrow. You will not miss a thing, my sweet. I swear it to you.” His gentle kiss presses to your temple–one of the few acceptable places he can express such affections. When he pulls himself back, he lingers. Tentative, he waits. His eyes flicker to yours with unabashed uncertainty. “But first you must swear to me that you will rest.” Heat floods your cheeks but you have never shied away from eye contact before and you refuse to do it now. His eyes close and his breath fans over your lips. “Swear it to me.” He repeats through the air of a whisper. “I swear it.” You utter just as quietly, curling your palm around his hand and pressing a long, warm kiss to the knuckles. Jacaerys would be lying if he said that it was not a relief. He could not remember the last night you slept in where you did not awaken suddenly and draft a new strategy. That you did not recall a new route. One that needed your immediate and unrestrained attention.
And so as the night calls out for you, your soon-husband’s arms slip around you and one loops beneath your legs until he can haul you against him. His breath stutters as he inhales the scent of your hair. His lashes flutter against one another and he takes a few steady steps through the tent. Loving each other had taken its time. It had taken screaming arguments, jealousy, rekindling…but it had also taken laughter and warmth and kindness. Kindness that neither of you thought to be deserved. It had taken the darkest eves and the most golden mornings. He settles you on the plush mattress this night, and brushes back the uncomfortable strands of hair that cling to your skin. Your neck, your face, even the petals of your lips. He cannot blame them for craving your closeness. He hesitates as you close your eyes and your back squirms into place. For only one moment more, he lets himself take in a portrait of your rest. Jacaerys Velaryon, Prince of Dragonstone, Son of Rhaenyra and future King of the Seven Kingdoms accepts that he craves for nothing but your warmth. He intends to keep you as safe as this every eve, every nightfall.
One sleepless night after the next, he shall be your rest.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄 [𝐎𝐍𝐄] — 𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐎𝐑
two / masterlist / wattpad
summary: when you break your arm in the plane crash, Jackie seems to be helping you out more than usual and you're left wondering why.
warning/s: mentions of a plane crash, amputation, broken bones.. the usual warnings that come with Yellowjackets lol.
author's note: this has been ready for a while now, as have a few other things whilst i work on some old requests. sorry for the delay with everything - i’ve been very busy, but i hope you like this two part jackie imagine :)
I could hear screaming and shouting, there was smoke everywhere and, despite my confusion, I knew I needed to get out of here before the smoke suffocated me.
Clipping off my seatbelt, I scrambled out of the aisle and briefly looked around, unable to make sense of anything, and then my head was spinning and I couldn't stay here any longer. Fresh air. I needed to breathe and then I could work out what was what.
Following the sound of screaming seemed counterproductive, but that was the way out, so I dragged my body – which felt like it had been thrown around in a blender – out the back of the plane and to... the middle of the forest?
The team. Some of them were running around, doing all sorts I couldn't seem to focus on, whilst others were bent over, catching their breath, appearing dazed and confused like me. I didn't get long to think about how I'd ended up here when, suddenly, someone shoved into me from behind and I fell forward, landing right on my outstretched arm.
A scream escaped my lips at the pain that struck, it breaking through the fog of confusion. I squeezed my eyes shut, tears pricking them instinctively, and tried to breathe through the pain. Pushing myself up with my other hand, I grimaced at the slight movement of my left arm, which had to be broken considering I couldn't do anything with it.
It wasn't until after all the chaos, after everybody had stopped screaming and vomiting and crying, that the realisation that our plane had crashed hit us. And by then, I was too preoccupied with my broken arm. Imagine coming out of a plane crash unscathed, only to get pushed down and left with a broken arm. Very stupid, indeed.
Surprisingly, Misty was the only one who could work under pressure, barely fazed by everything happening and instead tending to everyone's injuries as quickly as she could. Upon realising I'd broken my arm, she immediately made me her best attempt at a splint using some sticks and an old ripped shirt, as well as helping me into a makeshift sling using the same ripped shirt. Given the circumstances, it was as good as a cast, but she didn't know the extent of the damage and I couldn't do anything more.
The first two days were a struggle, mainly because nobody knew what to do nor where to go. That was when the horrible acceptance of losing several members of our team, including one of our coaches, hit everyone hard. We all pitched in to bury them, though I wasn't able to do much with my arm, and held a funeral for them.
After the funeral ended, everybody stuck together in the vicinity of the crash. A few lingered away, probably trying to figure out where the hell we were, but I just wanted a sense of familiarity and stayed to open my suitcase which I'd luckily found. Unfortunately for me, the zipper required two hands, and only one of mine seemed to be available right now.
"Hey."
I sighed, looking up to see Jackie Taylor, the soccer team captain, standing there with her arms hugging herself. I hadn't spoken to her properly since before we set off, she'd mostly just stuck with Shauna, her best friend.
"Hey," I greeted, unsure what she wanted.
She nodded to my terrible sling. "How's your arm?"
"Very painful," I admitted, "but coach literally lost his leg, so I can't complain."
She frowned at my words, but it wasn't exactly an exaggeration. Misty had quite literally chopped Coach Scott's leg off when he got it trapped under the wing of the plane, and it wasn't an easy thing to deal with physically or mentally. A broken arm was nothing compared to an amputation.
"How are you?" I asked. She didn't look hurt, just tired and scared like the rest of us.
She shrugged helplessly, and I didn't need any elaboration. I nodded, acknowledging her, and then she said, "Do you need help with whatever you're doing?"
I looked down, remembering the dumb suitcase I couldn't open. "That would be great actually, yes. Can you hold it whilst I unzip it?"
She nodded and kneeled down, acting as my other hand whilst I unzipped my suitcase. It was a relief to finally open it, seeing everything was as I'd left it before we boarded the plane. That felt like a lifetime ago now.
"If you need help with anything else, just ask," Jackie said, making me look up to see her watching me.
Grateful, I offered her a small smile. "Thanks, Jackie."
She returned the smile, though it didn't reach her eyes. She'd been the first to offer her help in the first place, since everyone was preoccupied by their own trauma, so I appreciated it. Truthfully, the last person I expected to offer help was Jackie, since she usually thought of herself first.
"You should get some medication off Misty," she added. "It'll help with the pain."
I swallowed hard, smile fading. "Right. Thanks."
She nodded and left, glancing at me once more as she did. I didn't really question it as I looked back at my suitcase, distracting myself from the pain.
Later that day, Misty found me instead, immediately pouring out the medication she'd collated from everyone's suitcases in front of me.
"Misty, what are you–?"
"I've got some pills for you," she said nonchalantly.
"Oh, my arm doesn't hurt that much," I lied. "Coach needs–"
"There's enough for Ben, silly," she said with a laugh, making me quirk a brow. "Besides, it's not for your pain, though it will help with that, it's for the inflammation. Without surgery, that's gonna take a while to heal and anything we have can help."
I sighed, nodding. "Alright. Thanks."
"I'll give you them every dose," she said, before holding out two pills. "Here you go."
I silently accepted them, knowing they'd help but feeling bad that I'd be taking them when Coach Scott needed them more.
—
Finding the lake and the cabin was a lifesaver, literally. We needed water and somewhere to sleep that wasn't so out in the open, and I was already struggling to sleep as it was so at least being inside made it a little easier.
Oddly enough, over the next few days since moving into the cabin, I'd noticed Jackie staring at me. If I ever caught her eye, she'd look the other way or flash me a smile before awkwardly doing something else. I wasn't sure what was up, and it only became more questionable when she'd help me out if I needed it.
There was one time when I was trying to pull my shoes on, but struggling to tie the laces with my one good arm.
"Here, I got it," she said, coming out of nowhere to lean down in front of me and take over.
I watched her with curiosity, letting her tie my laces. She must've caught me staring as she looked up, eyes bright as they met mine.
"What?" she asked, standing back up.
I shook my head. "Nothing... thanks."
She nodded, smiling a little before leaving me be. And that wasn't it. Other times I'd be trying to carry something and she'd take it from me without a word, or I'd be pulling on a shirt and she'd quite literally help me into it. It was odd, because she'd never paid me any mind before, and wasn't very helpful to others. The other girls aided me when they occasionally saw me struggling, but not as much as Jackie.
Another time, I was struggling to sleep in my makeshift bed on the floor of the cabin. Everybody had fallen asleep hours ago, but my movement was restricted because of my arm and the shuffling I was doing was only bothering me more.
"You move a lot," a voice said in the firelight, startling me.
I looked over the room, past my sleeping team members, and saw it was Jackie laying on her side next to Shauna but facing me.
"Sorry," I mumbled guiltily. "Did I wake you?"
She shrugged, not answering my question, before saying, "Try elevating your arm."
"What?"
"That's why you can't sleep, right?" she asked.
I blinked, surprised she'd even noticed. "Yeah."
She sat up slowly, stretching, before crossing the room to grab what looked like a jacket. My eyes followed her as she moved, then she rolled it up before kneeling down beside me and placing it underneath my bad arm. I winced as she did so carefully, glancing at me apologetically, but then I relaxed my arm on top of the jacket and breathed out slowly.
"Is that better?" she asked quietly. "Won't be touching the ground now."
I nodded. "Yeah. Thanks, Jackie."
"No problem," she said, before returning to her bed. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I replied, very tired and very confused.
That was when I knew I needed to ask her why she was being so considerate, so out of character, at least to me anyway. The next morning, after I'd done the one thing I could do with my arm which was collecting water from the lake when we needed it, I was bringing it to Akilah who was boiling it over the fire. Unfortunately, I tripped over a stone on the way, almost dropping the bucket. Jackie came out of nowhere, taking it from my hand and leaving it with Akilah before returning to me.
"You okay?" she asked with a raised brow, hand wavering over my arm.
I tilted my head curiously. "I– yeah. I just..."
She smiled with confusion, shaking her head. "What is it?"
I stared at her like she'd grown a second head. "Why do you keep helping me? Checking on me?"
She scoffed playfully, looking away before saying, "I'm still your captain. Gotta make sure the team's okay, right?"
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously, but I didn't have anything else to believe, so I gave in with a nod. "Yeah..."
"Take it easy," she said, eyes flickering to my arm before she left me.
—
Since we'd been stranded here, I'd only rinsed off in the lake once. That was a week ago when we found it, but I knew I needed to bathe properly and, after taking my shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, I headed for the lake. Washing my body was a struggle because of my arm, which had swollen so much to the point that even accidentally grazing my body with it sent a shot of pain in me.
I managed to wash my body the best I could, getting my tee-shirt sling wet but unable to do much else, then struggled to wash my hair. It was stupid, the fact that I couldn't even open a bottle of shampoo with one hand and squeeze it out. So much that I got overwhelmed with how useless I'd been feeling lately and threw it behind me onto the shore. Sulking, I stayed sitting in the water, submerged up to my legs in my bra and underwear.
I missed home. I missed my mum and my dad and my sister. I missed playing soccer. I even missed school. But most importantly, I missed having two working arms and not constantly being in pain. The longer we stayed out here, the more we established a routine, the less likely it felt we would be rescued. It was all piling on top of me, my uselessness being the cherry on top.
Staring out into the horizon, I frowned. Ten more minutes must have passed with me giving up on washing my hair when I heard footsteps not far behind me. I didn't bother turning around, but then whoever it was called me.
"Hey!"
Sighing deeply, I glanced over my shoulder, so fed up with everything that even my usual surprise at Jackie's presence didn't affect me.
"You not coming out?" she asked, stood at the edge of the water, hands on her hips.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and ignored her, looking forward again. Maybe she'd get the hint and leave me alone. Of course, she didn't.
"What's wrong?" she asked, and I pulled my knees up to my chest, hugging them.
"Nothing," I said, voice muffled.
I heard her sigh from behind me before her footsteps approached me, her feet splashing in the water.
"I'm bathing," I told her knowingly. "A little privacy would be nice."
She snorted with amusement before I heard her shuffling. Confused, I turned around and saw her pulling off her shorts before throwing them onto the rocky shore with her slippers, leaving her in her underwear and tee shirt.
"What are you doing?" I asked, puzzled.
She ignored me, instead grabbing the shampoo bottle I'd thrown back. Glancing at it and to me, she quirked a brow sarcastically. "This yours?"
I rolled my eyes and faced forward again, not bothering to acknowledge her presence as she seemed to be approaching me again. Only when she stood in front of me, blocking my view, and kneeled down to look at me was I forced to meet her gaze.
"D'you need help?" she asked softly, considerately.
Embarrassed, I looked down to my knees. Was it that obvious that I was struggling? Why was she the only one to check on me? The only one to notice? Why did she even care?
"Will you let me help you?" she asked when I didn't speak, and I finally looked up.
"Why?" I asked helplessly. "What's the point?"
She sat down cross-legged, unbothered by the water that was lapping against the bottom of her shirt. "For one, the smell in the cabin would go down significantly."
Realising she was joking, humour sparkling in her earth-coloured eyes, I scoffed and looked the other way. She began to laugh before patting my knee.
"Come on," she pleaded, laughter fading into a hopeful smile. "Please."
I didn't want anybody's help, especially not hers. But I needed it, and if she was being so kind as to come out here just to make sure I was okay, maybe it wasn't all so bad.
With a reluctant nod, I let her wash my hair for me, glad I wouldn't have to cause an ache in my other arm trying to do it. It was quiet as she did it, other than when she instructed me to dip my head in the water to wash out the shampoo and conditioner. Her fingers were delicate when she worked, massaging my head and putting me at ease instantly. I was still surprised at her aid, considering she'd always been preoccupied by herself or Shauna.
After I was done, she moved back in front of me, about to speak, but then her eyes caught sight of my swollen arm in my cast and widened.
"Woah, that looks painful," she noticed.
"Thanks," I said sarcastically.
"Are you taking the medicine Misty is giving you?" she asked with concern.
I tried not to hesitate as I nodded, lying. Truthfully, I hadn't been taking the medicine since a few days ago, as I knew Coach Scott's leg was at risk of infection if he didn't have enough. Besides, I'd taken some and the swelling had been going down. This was a bad day is all. Kind of.
"Okay, well...," she started, eyes lingering on my arm with an unreadable expression, before she stood up and held out her hand. "You're done. Come on."
I accepted her hand and she led me back to the shore, kindly helping me back into my clothes. After pulling her shorts and shoes on, I instantly hugged her with my good arm, certainly surprising her.
"Thanks, Jackie," I said sincerely, pulling back and seeing her raised eyebrows. "You don't know how good you're being."
She smiled, preoccupied. "Don't. I'm just helping."
I begged to differ, but she wasn't in the mood to hear it and I wasn't going to fight her on it. Instead, I just offered her a small smile before we both headed back to the cabin together.
Later that day, I was sat in the woods for some alone time, perched on a log and reading my book, when suddenly something was thrown right at me, startling me.
"What the hell?!" Jackie shouted, and I looked up to see she'd found me and was furious.
Confused, I looked to see what she'd thrown at me, only to realise it was the medication I hadn't been taking. Oh, no.
"You aren't taking it!" she shouted with exasperation.
I looked up to her, still baffled. "How did you even–”
"I'm not stupid," she snapped, before taking a deep breath to contain herself.
"It doesn't matter," I said calmly. "Coach needs them more. He's literally lost his leg and–"
"Why do you keep belittling your injury?!" she asked in a broken voice. "Nobody needs a hero, Y/N, just take the damn meds!"
The patronising tone she was using was it for me, and I suddenly stood up, unable to let her make me feel bad anymore.
"Why the hell do you even care, Jackie?" I retorted.
Taken aback, she raised her eyebrows before crossing her arms and avoiding my eyes. "I'm the cap–"
"Nobody gives a shit about that anymore!" I cut her off, before glaring at her. "You never paid me any mind before, so what gives now, huh? Did Jackie fucking Taylor suddenly grow a heart?"
She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Seriously, why the hell do you care all of a sudden?" I continued. "Why do you–?"
"Because it's my damn fault!" she said, and my anger was momentarily replaced by further confusion. She continued to ramble, "I didn't mean to, but the plane was on fire and Shauna was going to get hurt and I just rushed out of there without thinking and I didn't mean to push you and then you broke your arm and I feel guilty, okay?!"
Furrowing my brows, I studied her as she took a deep breath. Though she was stressed by her admission of guilt, I was oddly calm.
"That was just an accident," I said, unsure why it mattered to her so much. "If that's why you've been helping me, why you've been keeping an eye on me... you can stop. I'm not dying."
"Yeah, now," she said knowingly, guilt-laden eyes meeting mine, "but when a fucking bear comes out of nowhere and tries to eat you, what are you gonna do with one arm?"
It took me a second to realise she was dead serious, and I tried very hard not to smile.
"If a bear tried to eat me and I had my arm, I'd still get eaten," I said matter-of-factly. "You think I can take on a bear?"
She groaned with discontent. "You don't get it!"
I covered my mouth, struggling not to smile in front of her and piss her off more. She only fixed me with a classic Jackie glare.
"Just take the fucking meds," she said threateningly, in a way that was reminiscent of a cute dog barking, before storming off.
Admittedly, I had to pause and think about what the hell just happened, still a little lost. All this time, she'd been helping me out of guilt? She blamed herself for my broken arm? It was an accident and she couldn't have known what would happen. Tensions were high, it was chaos! I couldn't blame her even if I tried. It was almost laughable how she'd reacted, though at least it explained her sudden interest in my welfare.
When I returned to the cabin after her outburst, she glanced at me once but didn't bother speaking to me. And when I thought it would be a temporary thing, she began to ignore me over the next few days, actively avoiding me. If it weren't to share the cabin to sleep, she'd either completely leave the space I was in or go as far away from me as she possibly could. Could've been guilt, anger or embarrassment, I wasn't sure, but I knew it was extremely childish.
I was filling up a bottle of water from our basin when she rounded the corner and saw me, clearly wanting to do the same judging from her own bottle in hand. One glance my way and she was ready to leave, but I decided to make the first move after a week of not speaking.
"I'm not gonna bite," I pointed out.
She clenched her jaw with indifference. "I know."
A smile ghosted my lips as I focused on filling my bottle, and she surprisingly approached the basin and did the same. It was silent, the sound of our movement filling the air, but she was still tense beside me. It felt all wrong, especially after how supportive she'd been since we got here.
"I'm taking my medicine by the way," I said casually, but I wanted her to know that she hadn't wasted her breath. I'd listened.
"That's good," she spoke after a moment, trying not to sound too bothered.
"Yeah, I wasn't going to, but then this angry soccer player who was crushing under the immense guilt from foreshadowing my improbable yet supposedly imminent death by bear made me feel bad," I continued calmly.
She paused her action, glancing at me with a look of disbelief, and I couldn't hold in my laughter any longer. Her expression was priceless.
"Asshole," she muttered, but she was clearly trying not to smile.
I capped my bottle before saying, "This is awkward. Stop avoiding me, please. I don't hate you or anything. And you don't need to keep checking on me out of guilt. We can just... go back to normal, whatever that was."
She gave me a disapproving glance. "It wasn't just out of guilt."
I raised an eyebrow. "No?"
"Believe it or not, Y/N, I do care about you," she said, surprising me. And then she added quickly, "I care about everyone here."
Heart warming at her words, I began to feel bad for what I'd said to her when we argued. "Thanks," I said quietly. "And I'm sorry for what I said, about you suddenly growing a heart. Wasn't nice at all. Or true."
She shrugged awkwardly, looking down. "It's okay. I've been a bit selfish lately. I know the girls say it. Even Shauna thinks it.”
I looked over at her, noticing the conflicted expression she wore. Underneath her confident, cool girl demeanour was just a normal teenager like everyone else, and right now, she looked more and more like that.
"Not always," I reminded her, hoping she knew that I was still grateful for what she'd done for me since the crash, guilt or no guilt.
She exhaled softly, an appreciative smile on her lips, and I was beginning to question if breaking my arm was worth giving me a reason to get to know Jackie Taylor in a different way.
—
When there wasn't the threat of survival creeping up on us, or the fear of being stranded away from our lives back home forever, there was complete and utter boredom. There was only so many times you could play the same card games or read the same books without wanting to smack your head against a wall.
I realised soon enough that I missed playing soccer and one day when I was having a wander near the cabin, I began to subconsciously kick around an acorn. That was where acorn soccer began. Now, whenever I was fed up doing the same thing all the time, I'd go into a little clearing near the cabin and start kicking around an acorn to have a sense of normalcy.
This time, as I was dribbling the acorn around some sticks, I heard someone approaching and glanced up to see it was Jackie.
"What are you doing?" she asked with both amusement and curiosity.
"Playing soccer," I said like it was obvious, before kicking the acorn in the air towards her. Instinctively, she caught it with her foot, stabilising it and letting it hit the ground gently. I cracked a smile, saying, "Someone's not lost their touch."
She rolled her eyes, a smile threatening to break out on her lips. "So this is where you disappear to?"
I quirked a brow. "Why? You keeping tabs?"
"You wish you were that interesting," she retorted, kicking around the acorn.
"Interesting enough for you to track down, clearly," I teased.
She glanced at me with a glint of humour in her eyes. "Maybe I just needed to make sure the bear didn't get you."
I grinned. "Aw, you do care! Nice to know you have my back."
At this, she finally let out a laugh, teeth showing and eyes sparkling and in such a way that I couldn't help but admire how pretty she looked right now.
"Okay, where's the goal?" she asked after a moment, pausing from kicking around the acorn.
"What?"
She gave me a look. "I'm bored too, now c'mon."
I chuckled and began to explain to her the unimpressive yet fulfilling setup I had, which consisted of me kicking the acorn between two trees as a 'net'. Once she was caught up, we found a bigger acorn together and began to play.
It was almost like we were back at soccer practice, playing and having fun and not having to worry about any impending doom. I'd forgotten how good it could feel to just be, and I'd especially forgotten how good Jackie was at soccer, making for the perfect opponent.
She scored for the third time and raised her hands in the air as she cheered for herself. "Hell yeah!"
"You see, this is why we got to nationals," I reminded her, making her laugh.
"God, I forgot how fun soccer was," she said with a sigh. "Clever idea with the acorn."
I shrugged. "Boredom struck. Creativity thrived."
She snickered, hands on her hips, before nodding at my arm. "Should you even be playing with your arm like that?"
I quirked a brow. "What you gonna do? Rat me out to Misty?"
She snorted with amusement. "She's too busy with Coach Scott to care."
I tried not to laugh, knowing Misty had been enjoying herself a little too much with looking after Coach Scott and his leg. It was clear she liked him, and though he was aware of how inappropriate it was, he had no choice but to accept her help. Yeah, the last thing on Misty's mind was if I was playing acorn soccer or not.
"Okay, you ready for the next one?" Jackie asked, already kicking the acorn into the centre to start again. "I might just take it easy on you this time. Y'know, because you're at a disadvantage."
I glared at her playfully, ignoring the way her cocky grin made me feel. "Game on, Taylor."
—
Since that point, I'd found myself looking out for Jackie a little more than usual. I guess you could say she'd piqued my interest more than she ever had. Back home, she was my team captain and that was it. We never really hung out outside of practice or soccer parties because our circles never crossed over. Now though, with her looking out for me and hanging out with me more, I was beginning to develop a little crush on her.
I would've been insane not to. She was funny, flirty, smart and she always knew what she wanted. And it was probably silly of me to crush on the one girl I could never get, but it certainly made my current situation a bit more manageable. Nothing like a teenage crush to get your mind off reality.
I liked to think I was subtle with it, the whole checking out Jackie every now and then. It was only when she was a fair distance away and there was no chance she would spot me. But one morning, as I was helping Akilah boil some more water from the lake, I spotted Jackie walking out of the cabin with Shauna. It was nothing different, but for some reason, she just looked extra stunning this morning. I wasn't sure what it was – possibly my own delusion – but I couldn't stop stealing looks at her.
And then she glanced my way, catching my eye, and before I could even react, embarrassed I'd been caught out, a knowing smile appeared on her lips and she winked playfully before paying her attention back to Shauna. I swallowed, flustered, and didn't look at her again for the rest of the day. Stupid crush.

Before I send my request your way lemme tell you how much I loved reading your recent Sanji Fics!! I enjoyed them a lot!!
And as for a request, I don't have anything specific but a vague scenario in my head. The strawhats dock at a lone mysterious island. And they as usual disperse off to do their own things when Sanji happens to stumble upon the reader. Perhaps caught in some trouble, going around with a hidden identity? I'm sorry this is cringe. But it's been in my head for a while now. Whether this ends up interesting you or not, I just wanted you to know, it's been a lot of fun reading you! Have a good day! Or night :D
Unfortunate Encounters | Sanji x Reader
Fandom: One Piece
Pairing: Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader
Word Count: 5,997 (that's practically 6k)
Genre: Light Fluff, more Angst, happy ending ofc!
Warnings: Plot heavy, light swearing. Slightly ooc crew maybe? I'm still new to writing for OP, please excuse any mistakes!
A/n: First off, thank you so much for the sweet words anon ;-; they really made my day <3 As for the request, this was not cringe at all!! I got super into it and I had like 3-4 mental drafts of how this fic could go (the og ending was even more angsty lol, but I decided to cut back...) I may have focused too much on the 'lone, mysterious island' part because this was more plot heavy than romantic. The inner plot writer in me emerged because of your prompt; I'm not a romance writer so I struggle with that in this fic >< However, I did enjoy writing it so I hope you enjoy this one too! Thanks for sending such a fun request ❤️

The log pose had brought them to another island, but even before they had touched down, Sanji could feel something was up with it. The island just gave off some vibes he couldn't place and he wasn't one to chalk it off to a mistake. His intuition told him something was going to happen here.
"There doesn't seem to be a town here," Nami frowned, looking at the island. All they could see for miles and miles was a dense tropical forest, with trees that seemed larger than their usual size. When they got off the Thousand Sunny, Sanji realised that it was too silent. There were no sounds of birds or any animals that he could hear from the shoreline. "Be careful, guys."
They decided to separate and cover the island quicker. The log pose needed time to reset and it was a curious little island anyway. They could cover it within a day, maximum. Something in Sanji's gut twisted in protest but until he could explain it, there was no way he could stop the chaotic crew. So he let it be and started hacking a path to somewhere.
The trees were dense and the forest was dark, lit up on random intervals by sudden sunbeams that looked like nature's spotlights. Sanji hummed to himself as he studied the plants around him. He walked for a while, noting all the things he could use but not picking anything because the island just rubbed him off the wrong way. It felt dangerous to pick any part of it.
Sanji walked for a while, pausing only when he felt he had heard something – something that sounded like a rustle of leaves, but he couldn't sense a person. He couldn't sense anything but the wind, a gentle breeze drifting through the trees. Strangely, he had not yet come across any of the other Straw Hats either, even though he had been walking for well over an hour and the island wasn't that big in the first place.
There was another rustling, but this time, Sanji could feel a presence. Multiple ones, to be precise. He tensed and cautiously moved aside the curtain of vines blocking his views. The clearing revealed in front of him shocked him– it was like all the animals of the entire island had gathered in one place. And they were all looking at something that he couldn't see.
The moment he stepped in, the animals all turned to him, some of them baring teeth or growling and it was so much sound after so much silence that even Sanji couldn't help the shiver running along his back. A human shout of, "It's okay guys! I'm okay now!" distracted the animals and they turned back to whatever– or rather, whoever, they had been looking at.
Sanji held back, not quite sure what to make of the whole situation, until he heard a barely audible, "Disperse."
Almost like a flip was switched, the animals scattered and Sanji was left incredulously staring at the vines in the middle of the clearing, from where a figure gracefully jumped down. You straightened up and patted at your hair to check for any stray leaves or twigs before you walked over to him.
"An intruder?" You asked, smiling amusedly. "Been a while since we had one."
"That's a harsh word, beautiful," Sanji couldn't hold himself back from calling you that way, after he had gotten over his shock enough to note your features.
"Would you prefer 'uninvited guest'?" You cocked an eyebrow, not cutting eye contact as you straightened out your clothes.
"Ah, you hurt my poor heart," he said, a little bit dramatically as he leaned closer but still at a respectable distance. "Am I unwelcome in your home, goddess of these woods?"
"Wh-?" You couldn't help the chuckle that left your lips at his words. "You're quite something, alright. And as fun as you are, you really are unwelcome here, sorry."
"Why?" Sanji asked curiously. The entire experience felt like some weird fever dream to him, and he couldn't quite make head or tails of anything that was happening but the one thing he was sure of was that there was something about you that piqued his curiosity in all the ways.
"You can't stay on this island," you shrugged and walked past him, expecting him to follow you. Sanji did not fail, falling in step behind you as you started walking somewhere. "2 days, that's all you get. Any longer and… well, it's better if you don't find out."
"Alright, then I guess I'll let my crew know," Sanji sighed, figuring he wasn't getting any more out of you after seeing your guarded expression. The moment he finished his sentence though, you froze in your step and turned around to face him in horror.
"Did you just say… crew?" Your voice sounded a little hoarse and Sanji paused, looking at you in concern. "Please tell me your crew is not on the island."
"If I said that, it would be a lie, sweetheart," Sanji's brows furrowed even as he said it. Something was wrong. Your expression melted into one of full-blown panic, anger and horror.
"Not again!" You cried, burying your face in your hands.
"What's wrong?" Sanji would really, really like some answers today. The entire day had been confusing and eerie vibes and the growing chill in his stomach was now an unnecessary addition.
"What's wrong," you snapped, looking wild and terrified for a second, "is that your entire crew is fucking loose on a cursed island! If they do not get off this island in 3 nights, they will turn into animals and never, ever turn back to humans."
Sanji just stared at you for a few seconds before he dropped the unlit cigarette he had pulled out of his pocket. You were pacing around in circles and he had so many questions that he didn't even know where to begin.
"Then I'll just tell them when we all meet back?" He said unsurely except you turned to face him with eyes full of unshed tears.
"That's a great plan," you said a little sarcastically, "except for the part where this island is cursed and anyone who isn't an animal can't find their way out. Ever. They literally cannot find the way back on their own."
Sanji's jaw dropped. He stared back at you in equal parts horror.
"This has to be the Moss Head's curse spreading," he whispered to himself.
Half an hour later, the two of you were making your way through the dense foliage, exchanging questions and answers– although Sanji was the one doing the asking the most.
You had calmed down after finding out that the crew only had 9 members. You could probably find 8 people in less than 3 days. The island wasn't that big.
Sanji's first question was about how you weren't affected by the curse.
"Because I'm not fully human," you had replied off-handedly and not offered more. It only added to your mystery but despite all your secrets, Sanji could somehow feel inside him that you weren't a bad person. You were going out of your way to help out so that their crew won't turn into animals– if the curse didn't affect you, then you could have very well done nothing.
Then he asked about the other things on his mind. Were the animals in the forest also humans? To his horror, you had replied with a sad yes.
"The log pose doesn't take pirates to this island much," you had explained as you expertly and gracefully made your way over the thorny plants and overgrown roots. Your movement was almost like a mystical dance and Sanji couldn't take his eyes off of it, thankful that you were walking in front of him and couldn't see his ogling. "It's rare but it happens sometimes. Mostly single man boats tossed through storms end up here, but there's been two small crews who came here after me. There were already some animals on the island before though, and I'm pretty sure they were once humans too."
"And there's no cure for this?" Sanji swallowed, his heart hammering from a weird mix of fear, nervousness and excitement.
"Nothing as far as I know," you confirmed, pausing to close your eyes and feel something. "That direction, I can sense someone."
You ran over without waiting for Sanji and he was left to catch up by taking long strides. Before he could show himself though, he felt the presence close in on you and automatically moved in to defend you. His boots rammed against the blunt hilt of a familiar katana.
"Love cook?" Zoro's eyes widened in surprise and he immediately tucked his swords back in. Sanji ignored him in favour of ensuring that you were okay. He found you staring behind him curiously at Zoro, as if the swordsman fascinated you. It didn't mean anything, but it left him feeling a little irritated at Zoro. "Who's this?"
"Um." Sanji realised he had never asked you for your name. Or given you his.
"Inconsequential," you waved it off. "It's not like we're to know each other longer than a day or two. Let's just go and search for the rest. Blondie here can explain everything to you on the way."
"Sanji," he blurted out, reeling back when he saw your surprised face. "Forgive my insolence, sweetheart. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Vimsoke Sanji."
"Well, Sanji," you smiled at him, already walking like you knew where you were going, "get your friend to join us and follow me."
Gladly, his heart answered for him.
✿
You knew this was a mistake. It never ended well when you met other people and liked them. And as you collected more of the Straw Hats, you couldn't help but like them all more and more. You knew this was a mistake, but you couldn't bring yourself to regret it because you knew that if you didn't help them, they would be cursed too.
You had eventually acquiesced and given them your first name, careful not to offer your last name in case any of them recognised you. Zoro seemed to be staring at you quite frequently, but maybe it was just a Straw Hat thing? Sanji had been staring at you the whole time too. Or maybe you looked hideous and they were all politely staying quiet. You didn't quite know, but the thought of looking terrible in front of them (in front of that beautiful blonde boy) was a little mortifying to you.
All those thoughts took a backseat though, because you were on a mission. By the time evening rolled around and the sky had turned to pitch black darkness, you had found a cyborg and a rubber man called Luffy, who was the captain of the ship. He didn't really feel like a captain, or somebody who commanded everyone, but the Straw Hats didn't seem like a typical group of people. They were… unique.
"Let's stop for tonight," you said after assessing the darkness. Of course, you could see everything clearly even in the darkness, but they didn't need to know that. The less they knew about you…
"Shouldn't we keep going?" Zoro asked, looking around.
"Trust me, we're better off waiting the night out," you answered, already settling into the clearing for the night. You had to get a fire going and find food and there were things to be done.
"So I can't eat the animals?" Luffy pouted for the fifth time, asking the same question.
"No, Luffy," you sighed, waving a stick at him. "They might look like animals, but they are people. Please don't kill them or try to eat them."
"They won't attack our crewmates, would they?" Sanji asked, looking worried. You finally managed to light a fire and carefully structured a ring of stones around it to ensure it won't get out before answering.
"The curse lets them have their brain for most of the time," you fidgeted on the spot. "But sometimes, if you harm them, or if they get really hungry, or, y'know… their animal instincts kick in and then they are more animal than human. But it's rare, and won't happen if you don't harm their survival."
The crew fell silent and you watched them whisper amongst themselves a bit. They probably wanted to talk things out, so you got up and said you would go grab something to eat.
"Please don't leave this clearing," you warned them as you walked away. "Finding you again would be so much trouble."
You heard footsteps following you though and turned around to find Sanji trailing behind you.
"Sanji?" You asked, confused. His tall, lanky figure in the forefront of the golden orange light spilling from the fire you started was a picturesque scenery that left your heart thumping a little louder than usual.
"Would you be okay with some company?" He asked quietly. "I'm a chef, so I could probably help you gather some food."
"Alright," you nodded. The two of you walked a while in silence until you found the spot where there were a bunch of large fruits and flowers that you started gathering. Sanji observed what you collected in the little moonlight that was shining through the trees, but you could see him struggling.
"You can see in the dark?" He asked after a beat of silence.
"Mm," you were exhausted from the day. Lying and avoiding things was tiring as it is, and you really weren't in the mood to play the game. If Sanji knew who you were… would it really be that bad? He had been kind so far, always at a respectable distance but with honeyed sweet words that tugged at your heartstrings. You had never had anyone flirt with you, but Sanji was the first. And it left you feeling giddy and warm, the attention he gave you without losing any of the respect and your need for secrecy. If he knew… would he hate you?
Sanji didn't say anything for a while, just offered up his arms for you to stack all the food you had collected.
"Who else is remaining?" You asked, finding the silence was eating at your insides. You had spent so long in silence. And now that you had people around again, you wanted to make the most of it before they had to leave. Just for a while, you could forget and pretend that you're one of them. Just for a while.
"Nami-san, Robin-san," Sanji said, "Brook and Chopper. Wait, Chopper!"
Sanji clapped his hands like he had just thought of something. You looked at him curiously.
"Chopper is a reindeer," Sanji said hurriedly.
"You have a reindeer in your crew…?" You were confused. The Straw Hats were definitely one of a kind, alright.
"He ate the Hito Hito no Mi so he can talk and walk," Sanji explained. "He's our doctor but that's not important right now. He's an animal, right? So he wouldn't be affected by the curse?"
"Highly likely that he isn't," you confirmed.
"Which means he must be the only one back on the ship," Sanji murmured to himself. That's one person (animal?) less to search for, you mused. "He must be scared."
"I hope he's okay," you said quietly. The animals on the island knew each other well. If Chopper ran into them… You didn't really know what would happen. Animals could be scary when they were territorial.
The two of you finished collecting as much as you could carry and walked back, and you asked Sanji to tell you about their adventures. He indulged you, colouring a vivid and humorous picture of the crew in the short while it took you two to get back.
You came back to find Zoro sleeping on his side while Luffy was springing around in the clearing, howling about being hungry and crying for Sanji. Franky sat against a tree, fiddling with something on his body that you didn't wait to see despite your curiosity.
As Sanji started portioning the food to serve to everyone, you stood back and watched the crew interact quietly. It was strange, how at home you felt with them despite not knowing them– but you attributed it to your loneliness.
Even if you wanted to be one of them, you could never curse them like that.
The next morning, you found Nami at the top of a tree. You had seen her when gathering some flowers for breakfast, asleep. You decided to get Sanji to recognise her before you woke her up and got her down. Seeing Sanji fawn and fret over her made you insanely jealous; but you forced it down under a smile and led them back to the camp that had already been cleared up.
You gave the crew a few minutes to catch up and celebrate before you started the search again.
"So…" you searched for a topic as the six of you trudged through the forest. "A reindeer, a cyborg, a gum man, an ex-pirate hunter… Who should I expect next?"
"A skeleton!" Luffy excitedly yelled as he swung past you on the vines, nearly making you stumble from the shock.
"A… what?!" You turned to stare at Sanji in shock, who just smiled softly and shrugged.
"Brook is…" he explained the whole story without getting tired and you couldn't help but be fascinated by everything. The more you learned about them, the more they intrigued you, the more you wanted to beg them to let you join them. But you didn't let those thoughts come to life in words, just helping them find the said skeleton from where he was surrounded by some of the island's animals growling at him.
"Down, guys," you shouted and the animals immediately backed off, all staring at you with innocent eyes that made you huff in laughter. "Don't pull that on me, I just saw you. I know you mean well but it's a little scary when you're surrounded by animals."
One of the deer whined and bumped its snout into your hand. You could feel the Straw Hats staring as you petted it and whispered it to leave the skeleton to you. When the animals had dispersed, you shot a grin at Brook.
"Hi there!" You held out a hand, "It's my first time meeting a skeleton!"
Once the pleasantries were out of the way, you started covering the northern part of the island. It was the only place remaining, aside from the centre. You found Usopp and Chopper there, the two of them hugging each other and bawling.
As it turned out, Chopper had in fact gone back after finding nothing on the island only to find out that no one else had returned. So he had stayed the night in the ship and then came back in search of the others even though he was scared.
"That was very brave of you," you patted him on the head. The reindeer blushed and glared at you.
"I'm not pleased by that at all!!" So he said, but you could see the smile on his face. With almost all of them collected, you started your way to the centre of the island when you heard the clouds rumble.
The sky was full of grey clouds and you were ready for rain, since this was the season on the island.
"There's an underground cave near here," you told the crew as you led them through the thick canopy of trees. "I usually go there when it rains so let's wait it out before we search for… Robin, was it?"
Zoro grumbled something about constant waiting but you chose to ignore it. You knew this island better than any of them. Rains were harsh and the droplets were like bullets on the skin. You couldn't find Robin on the way to the cave but when you reached its opening which looked like a hole in the ground, surrounded by overgrown grass, you felt a presence inside.
The last Straw Hat member was inside the cave, much to all of your relief. This time, you truly stepped back and let the crew reunite, feeling like a true outcast for the first time. Your time together with them was over. Once the rain was gone, they would be out of here and you would be alone again.
Except Sanji turned to you and offered you his hand to invite you into their awkward group hug that Usopp had initiated. You didn't want to intrude but they all looked at you with similar grins and smiles and you couldn't hold it back. You joined them, savouring your first hug in years.
✿
As it turned out, the runes you had found on one of the walls of the cave actually had some sort of meaning that Robin had been able to decipher in the while she had spent in the cave. She had apparently found the cave the previous night and stayed in, then worked on the runes in the morning when she found them.
"It's about a curse on this island," she explained. "Like (y/n) already told us, if anyone spends 3 nights on this island, it turns them into an animal forever. There's a piece of it missing at the end, but the last line says 'the answer lies in the satisfaction of life and a prayer answered'."
"What does that mean?" you asked, confused.
"I'm not really sure," she admitted, running her fingers over the runes. The whole crew mulled over the words as you waited for the rain to stop. You didn't join into the conversation, just letting your mind work quietly with their suggestions as background.
Satisfaction in life… A prayer answered… None of it seemed to make sense. The Straw Hats didn't need to help the animals out, but they were still trying to figure it out. The crew was clearly good at heart and you were glad that you helped them out, even though you would only be left with hurt after they were gone. That pain was worth it.
A squirrel scampered up to you while you listened; the rain outside seemed to be slowing down. You knew the squirrel was the girl around your age who had ended up on the island after a shipwreck. You scooped her up and let her sit on your hand, where she tried to shake off the water from her soaking body. The water sprinkled onto you and you let out a fake indignant "hey!" that made her laugh. Not that you had ever seen squirrels laugh, but you could always understand the animals on the island.
"We found something here," you said quietly to her, bringing her close to wipe off some of the water from her body. "It could be an answer to turning you all back to humans."
She tilted her head and stared at you.
"But none of us understand the riddle," you continued, feeling apologetic to them. You had been the only person on the island who was unaffected by the curse, so you felt like it was somehow your responsibility to help them all turn back. And yet, you had failed at that over and over again. Saira, as the girl's name had been, simply shook her squirrel head and placed a tiny paw on your chest where you had tucked her close.
"It's alright," you could hear her saying in your head. To the others, it probably sounded like a bunch of squeaks. "It's not that bad. I long gave up hope of turning back. Being a squirrel is not that bad. Being able to spend everyday with you who looks out for all of us… I'm happy. All of us are."
Your chest swelled with the emotions and for the first time in a long while, tears streamed down your cheeks. You had held it all in for so long, not wanting to burden the helpless creatures that always kept you company. But knowing their faith in and love for you made your insides warm.
"All we want is for you to be happy too," Saira continued, turning her head to look at the crew. You glanced at them, noticing that Sanji was looking over at you two. "I know you. Go with them."
"I can't," you said in a choked whisper. "Even if they let me, I can't do that to them. I'm not… I'm a curse, Saira. I can't risk it."
The squirrel looked at you helplessly as you cried a little more. Eventually, you wiped away the tears and let your eyes shut to listen to the pitter patter of rain outside. Saira scrambled off your body and over to Sanji, who had watched you the whole while but hadn't heard what you had said.
When you opened your eyes, the rain had stopped. You looked around blearily, and found the Straw Hats all lying around, looking upset.
"You guys should have woken me up when the rain stopped," you said, rubbing your face as you stood up. "Come on, you must be missing your ship, yeah?"
"(Y/n)," Sanji started, looking a little nervous. You looked at him quizzically, but Zoro spoke up before he could say what he wanted.
"Or should we say Kuroneko no (Y/n)?" The familiar words made you freeze in horror. "Harbinger of Death? A 30 million bellies bounty."
"That's…" You took an involuntary step back, bumping into the cave wall. They knew. They knew the secret you had tried so hard to hide. They knew… and they were still looking at you with badly hidden curiosity and grins. None of them looked scared, or upset anymore, like they had been when you were asleep. "I'm… I don't want to lie. That's me. But I swear, I'm not going to do anything. I mean, I don't even actually do anything, all of those incidents just happened–"
"(Y/n)," Sanji placed a hand atop your head, effectively stopping your rambling. You looked up at him, afraid to see him look at you differently, but if anything, his eyes had only become softer. "It's okay. I wish you had told us before, but we get it."
"You do…?" Somehow, it felt too good to be true. People were usually upset when others lied and kept secrets. The secret of who you were could essentially have been a matter of life or death. Kuroneko no (y/n), or rather, Black Cat (y/n) was a name based on your Devil Fruit powers that let you turn into a cat. But they were also a result of you being the only survivor in 4 separate incidents– the annihilation of your home island, the mass genocide in a war town country and the two small crews you had once been a part of. Every single time, all the people had died and you were the only one alive left behind. You had never belonged anywhere, so how could you believe now would be any different?
"It must have been very lonely," Robin's sorrowful eyes reflected that she understood you on some level. You didn't know what to think or feel, unwilling to let yourself hope for anything beyond acceptance.
"It was," you admitted, more to yourself than to them. You had never let yourself truly dwell on the thought, but you had been so, so lonely. "I won't stick around for long. I'll take you to your ship and you'll be free of this island's curse, and of my own. So if–"
"Your curse?" Sanji looked at you, confused.
"It's not exactly a curse," you hesitated, "but there's nothing else I can call it for why… the people I care for end up dead."
"That's not true," Luffy frowned, walking over to you. "Everyone here is still alive. Everyone on this island is alive, we are alive. You are not cursed."
"You were like a blessing in disguise," Usopp said from where he stood, not looking you in the eyes. "I was of course not afraid at all, considering my heavy list of achievements, but you brought us all back together."
"I'm…" you didn't know what to say, feeling overwhelmed.
"You're not cursed, sweetheart," Sanji gently held up your hand, squeezing it to comfort you. "You just had a string of… unfortunate events."
Sanji's struggle to find the right term made you let out a small giggle. Maybe you should extend a hand. Maybe this time…
"Maybe I'm not cursed?" You said hopefully, looking up into his clear blue eyes. Sanji nodded, carefully tucking back a lock of hair behind your ear. The action made you flush, suddenly realising the proximity you two were in.
A flash of light startled all of you and you turned around to find Saira, the human, standing in the place of where the squirrel was. The girl was staring at her own hands and body, like this was a dream. You blinked, unable to believe your eyes either.
Outside the cave, you could hear shouts. Human shouts.
"What just-?" You ran out to find the people who had been turned into animals were back to human. "How…"
"Satisfaction of life and a prayer answered," Robin's voice from behind you was startling. You turned to look at her, and she smiled down at you. "Perhaps the answer was just for the animals to be happy with who they are, with no regrets."
"Then… Then why didn't it change them back before?" You said, voice barely above a whisper.
"Perhaps their prayer wasn't answered back then," she placed a hand on your shoulder and patted it. Did she mean that it only happened now because your one wish through life had been answered? To be free of the curse you had…
With much enthusiasm, the crew got out of the underground cave and everyone was celebrating. The sight of everyone back made you feel like this was the happiest day of your life. You participated in it, letting yourself enjoy the moment without worrying or thinking of anything.
The sun was already setting when the party started and it went on for hours as everyone laughed and danced and ate. (If you were fascinated by how much Luffy could eat, you kept it to yourself to be polite.) It was probably getting close to midnight when Sanji sought you out to where you were sitting by yourself and just watching everyone with fond eyes.
He didn't say a word at first, just sat down next to you. At that distance, you could feel the warmth of his body and you subconsciously leaned closer to the source. For the first time in a long while, your heart felt at peace.
"How did you end up on this island?" Sanji's question made you look over at him. He wasn't demanding an answer, just looking down at you with deep blue eyes that seemed to flash golden as they reflected the bonfire.
"I was on the run from the Marines around a year ago," you hummed, feeling safe and comfortable enough in his presence to finally talk about yourself. After years of not being able to share anything with anyone, it felt freeing to tell him something even as simple as this. "I had just escaped the battle between the crew I was in and this one big pirate ship that I don't even remember anymore. I was wounded but I reached this island on a small boat somehow with a half broken log pose. I shifted into my cat form, which looks less like a cat and more like a black jaguar if anything, to ensure that no one recognised me– because my full transformation is not known by the Marines. I stayed in that form for quite a while, too scared and shaken at that time to turn back into human. Only after a few days of exploring the island did I realise there are no humans here.
"I thought… if there was any place I could not affect anyone with my curse, it would be here. Away from any humans who would get affected by it. At that time, I didn't know about the curse. Looking back on it, I suspect that maybe the curse never affected me because I was in my animal form for 3 nights. Or maybe it was just because that form is like my second skin. I was never disappointed or dissatisfied with it. I only found out about the curse after Saira came on the island and turned into a squirrel. And then two other pirate crews."
"That must have been hard for you," Sanji's voice was quiet but there was no way you could miss the low timbre of it over the excitement all around you. Not when it was the same voice that set your heart off; you wanted to hear everything he had to say. Wanted to know him more and more, as much as he would let you. "(Y/n)-chan."
"Mm?" You turned to look at him, breathless at the proximity from where you could no longer smell the perfume he smelled of the first time you met. The smell coming off him now was something purely him. It was a little intoxicating when coupled with the warm atmosphere and the gooey feeling in your stomach.
"Would you… like to join us?" Sanji seemed a little nervous asking you that. The question gobsmacked you and you stared at him. He… wanted you to join them? As a part of the crew? "I asked Luffy and he said that if you want it, then he's all for it."
"Sanji…" you bit your lower lip, unsure once again. Even though you felt free of the curse, the mentality couldn't be erased in a day. The what ifs, the fear, the apprehension was all still there. "What if we're wrong, though? What if I really am cursed and this has just been a really long build-up to something worse? I might be a risk to your–"
"You're not," Sanji interrupted you for the first time since you had met. The quiet but firm determination blazing in his eyes surprised you. "I believe in you. (Y/n)-chan, if you would let me, I would gladly prove it to you by staying by your side for the rest of your life. I'll stay alive and well, and show you that it's not your fault. I'll be by your side to the very end, so place your fears in my hands and… trust me on this, even if you don't trust anything else."
That little crush you had developed on him at the start seemed to blow up in that moment into a gigantic furnace of emotions. He was ready to take the risk of death, and saying every word with such sincerity that any inhibitions you had went out the window. You couldn't stop yourself from wanting him any longer– he was like the sun, taking your world by storm.
"Really?" You didn't realise when the tears started streaming down your face until his gentle hands came up to wipe them. "You'll stay?"
"I will," and that genuine sincerity was something you couldn't help but believe in. "I will be there for you, as long as you need me."
"Sanji." His name felt both urgent and at ease from your lips.
"(Y/n)-chan," he whispered, voice open and vulnerable again. "Do you… want to be a part of the Straw Hats?"
You swallowed and wondered if you really deserved this much happiness after everything. Yet the moment you looked into his eyes, you felt like there was nothing you could do but be a moth chasing the sun– running after something that you knew will only end up in flames.
"I do."

Magicka (F2U/PWYW)
I've been wanting to do a minimalist, high-contrast skin for a while just because they tend to be a bit on the simpler side, color-palette wise. Since I've been re-binging The Order on Netflix lately, it kind of influenced the theme of the skin a bit. (In case it wasn't obvious, lol.)
The Magicka skin is a high-contrast, dual-mode skin for Jcink forums, and is optimized for Google Chrome. (Cross-tested in Opera GX and Mozilla Firefox.)
If you'd like a live preview of the skin, the link is available in the new #skin-previews channel of my Discord server!

I do not offer coding support beyond initial problems with my skins at install. (i.e. Finding a bug when you install a fresh copy of the skin onto your site, etc.) If the skin breaks during modifications you make on your own, I am willing to help restore the skin to its original state. I do not provide support for third party coding that is not mine.

Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition -Hong Kong- Highlights & Cafe Menu
Guess WHO just came back from the fma exhibition today! I am still in my serotonin rush as I type out this post. Upon a mutual's request, I am sharing highlights and key features of this time's exhibition, especially the Hong Kong-only elements. Hope this helps anyone who is considering going and wants to know more about it!
All photos here are taken by myself. (aside from the last few which are from a news report)
See also: list of available goods + pricing (to be updated)
♡♡♡♡
Obligatory Entrance Photo!
Same as the original exhibition in Japan, at the entrance, there's the 20th anniversary Ed & Al figure, a 1:1 Al statue, and an animated transmutation circle that you can pose at.
(It is very hard to get the right timing to put down your hands though, since it moves really fast xD)
♡♡♡♡
Copies of 300+ genka are shown, and as you can see here, translated versions of the comic panels are displayed underneath the framed genka copies, which I think is very nice.
Unfortunately, much like the previous Malaysia exhibit, these are not the original genkas (it's probably too risky to ship them overseas?) but seeing these copies still made me really happy and the set-up is really awesome:) (link to set-up video)
Can't forget the coloured pages, of course! There's also one original signed illustration, but you're not allowed to take pictures of it, which is a bit sad but understandable.
There are also multiple special animations; check one of them out here!
♡♡♡♡
Costumes and props from the live-action movie are also displayed. The level of detail is really really nice ^^
♡♡♡♡
HK limited photo spots (modelled by me):
I am not sure if it's 100% accurate, but from what I have heard these two photo spots are Hong Kong-only. Please correct me if I am wrong!
Left: a wall with Mei's kunai that you can pose in front of and pretend to be Ed gaining back his right arm. Absolutely impossible to take a photo there while maintaining a straight face because it is ungodly hilarious and ridiculous. 6/10
Right: Gate of Truth door curtain near the exit; Very fun to push open and act out another iconic Ed scene (video link), or sit there and speak in a mocking ominous tone. 10/10
♡♡♡♡
Cafe:
After the exhibition, you can find the cafe inside the gift shop area. There are two extra-special items and a few other snacks that you can order; Listing all food items & their prices below!
Because I didn't order the special items, the below three photos are from HK01's report on the exhibition.
Left: The Flame Transmutation Set is fish cake + yakitori, and when you order it you'll get the food in a small black box, then the staff will help you light it up when you snap at it; basically you can pretend to be Mustang and "cook" the yakitori yourself xD
Right: The (Full)metal Transmutation Drink is peach soda, but it comes unmixed; you can put it on a special table with a transmutation circle drawn on it, and the table will shake and mix the drink for you. The idea is you can make your own liquid philosopher's stone and drink it lol
I think they're both really stupid but in an endearing way I guess lmao
♡♡♡♡
It's really late so I will organize and post the list of available goods tmr :3 stay tuned!

Wife | Pt.2 《Bharya》B. Deva
☆Bhallaladeva x Fem! Reader☆
Synopsis: Y/n and Bhallaladeva have been married for three months, but after their wedding ceremony came to an end, Y/n hasn't seen him or heard of him since. It's not like she's his first wife she likely won't be his last- is what she thinks. But when Bhallaladeva sends a servant to summon Y/n to his quarters late one night, Y/n hopes to fulfil their unstarted martial duties, instead, Bhalla requests that Y/n do something else for him. Something Y/n never expected to hear from the ruthless king of Mahismati. 《Pt. 2, 2.4k Words》
Note: There will probably be maybe two more parts to this story lol. This is the Y/n version of this fic. If you would like to read the OC version, it will be available on my OC masterlist page! ALSO, REQUESTS ARE OPEN!!!
𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑 》 By interacting with my works or posts, you agree to be exposed to my content and are confirming that you are willingly reading my writing!!
She stepped inside and gulped. His room was kind of how she imagined it. It was wide, grand, open and nothing like hers. Y/n’s room was grand too, of course, being one of the wives of the king, but compared to the king’s room, it felt like a children's play area.
Y/n stepped forward, examining every inch of the room, her anklets making music with every step she took. But the most important question lay unanswered. Where was Bhalla? The main reason Y/n traveled halfway across the palace at one in the morning for?
Y/n crossed her arms behind her and looked around, admiring the portraits and the statues. They were portraits of him, one of his mother, and of previous kings. But none of his brother or any of his wives.
But one particular portrait caught her eyes. Or rather, the fact that it was covered up with a massive velvet cloth.
What was Bhalla hiding under there?
Y/n stepped towards the portrait, her anklets notifying every other living thing nearby of her movement but right as she reached for the velvet cloth, the sound of a voice made her stomach drop.
“Here.” Said low, breathy voice. Y/n flinched, instantly drawing her hand away from the covered portrait and span around to face the source of the voice. What she saw made Y/n’s heart jump and her stomach summersault.
On his mighty grand bed, lay Bhalladeva.
The king.
The warrior.
The ruler.
Her husband.
Like his voice, Bhallaladeva was breathing heavily and fast, reaching an arm out for Y/n who was unsure of what to do.
Upon stepping closer to him, Y/n began getting worried. Bhalla’s face was covered in tiny droplets of sweat, his breathing was heavy and his chest rose and fell at an alarming rate.
Y/n gasped at the helpless form of the king and brought her hands to her lips.
“Your- Your Majesty-!” Y/n began, unsure of what to call him. Y/n’s use of ‘Your Majesty caused a tiny flinch to escape Bhalla’s body.
Should she acknowledge their marriage and the sacred thread tied around her neck by Bhalla and call him ‘Bhalla’?
Or was was more fitting to call him ‘Bhallaladeva’ to please his massive ego and not seem overly friendly?
Or was she supposed to be his quiet submissive wife and refer to him as his majesty?
Y/n gulped and quickly looked around while Bhalla continued breathing rapidly in a feverish way.
“Don’t- Don’t worry Your Majesty! I’ll-” With the way Bhalla flinched as she called him ‘Your Majesty’, Y/n was internally face-palming herself. Y/n hated how she kept stumbling over her words.
Way to make a great first impression, she thought as she slowly began panicking.
Y/n noticed how Bhalla could barely keep his eyes open as they kept drooping and he struggled to breath normally.
“I’ll call a healer-!” Just as Y/n turned around to sprint away to fetch a healer, Bhalla’s voice stopped her yet once again.
“No-!” He said. Y/n couldn’t tell if he was shouting or simply in pain because the moment she turned around, she saw him painfully clutching his heart while he winced in pain.
“But-”
“No. I don’t need a physician right now.” Bhalla said, his pain starting to worsen as he raked his fingers through his dark curly locks. Y/n gulped, unconvinced but not willing to disobey his Majesty’s orders.
“Then… Why was I summoned here, Your majesty?”
Bhalla pat the empty space next to him on the bed, confusing Y/n.
What did he want her to do? Clean the bed sheets? Dust it? Was the dust causing him to go all haywire like this?
Y/n, still confused, awkwardly moved towards the king and bent down. She looked at the king, who looked back at her before she looked down at the spot when he was patting.
Y/n began patting and sweeping aswell with her hand, brushing the non-existenct specks of dust off the edge of the bed, confidently.
When she finished, she looked at the king, hoping to see an impressed face at her brillinat cleaning abilities, only to be met with a confused look from the king.
“What’re you doing?” Bhalla croaked out.
“I was dusting.” Y/n replied, impressively. Bhalla’s eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.
“...Why?” Bhalla said, after a slow moment of consideration, seemingly forgetting his pain in the confusion.
“Because… Well, because Your Majesty-” Bhalla flinched ever so slightly as Y/n referred to him as ‘Your Majesty’, “-asked me to.” Y/n said, in a matter-of-fact tone, leaving Bhalla speechless. Bhalla’s lack of words left Y/n worried out of her mind.
Had she not cleaned enough? Or did she do it wrong?
Y/n was practically losing her mind over what Bhalla would do to her if she acted incorrectly.
Would he kill her? Posion her? Torutre her? Publically behead her?
Thoughts like those ran through Y/n’s mind and each thought was more treacherous than the one before. In the flurry of worry, Y/n stood up suddenly, knocking over a golden water goblet in the process and panicked further at the noise it made.
Bhalla was undisturbed by the goblet, he genuinely couldn’t care less about it. Instead, his energy was taken upp by a small smile gracing his lips at Y/n’s antics. The sound og the falling goblet masked the tiny chuckle that escaped Bhalla’s lips.
Suddenly, as if catching himself in a horrid act, Bhalla quickly wiped his smile right off, and replaced it with a simple calm face.
Y/n looked at the fallen ghoblet and back at Bhalla, misreading his calmness for anger.
“M-Maybe it would be best if I fetched a physician and left Your Majesty alone-” Y/n kept stumbling over her words, her voice clearly laced with tension and fear, and when she turned around suddenly, Bhalla’s voice stopped her once more.
“No.” He didn’t shout this time, he was calm as if suppressing his quick breath and his heavy voice. As if he was actually trying to be soft with her. As if she was a fragile little bird that he didn’t want to harm.
Y/n stopped and looked over at him, he was patting the empty spot next to him again.
“I meant stay with me,” He said, and under his moustach, Y/n failed to spot the tiniest and almost invisible smile curling at the corner of his lips, “Not- Not dust the bed,”
“Ohhh,” Y/n said, nodding her head slowly in understanding. She slowly and cautiously advanding towards the king and carefully sat next to his flat body.
“Stay with me.” Bhalla said, softly, allowing himself to close his eyes and he turned his head to feel Y/n’s touch through the fabric of her voni. “Just for a while…”
Y/n stiffened, having never expected something like this from the king. Bhalla’s voice made Y/n think it almost sounded like love, but she shook the thought off quickly. She remembered the words of the other wives.
Bhalla is incapable of love. Giving it or receiving it.
This wasn’t love, Y/n told herself, when another question popped up.
What happened to the king?
And another one.
Why did he need her to stay with him?
And another one, the one Y/n was most curious about.
Why her?
The answer to that question seemed simple. He wanted to see his latest wife, so he could cross it off on his to-do list and not bother about her ever again till her funeral. That was the only possible reason… Right?
Something in the back of Y/n’s mind told her that it wasn’t. Her curiosity getting a hold of her, Y/n gulped and let her first question out.
“Are- Are you okay?” Y/n mentally face-palmed at the way this question was phrased.
It seemed too formal and yet informal at the same time. How was that even possible!?
“Now I am,” Bhalla said, his voice musch less breathy like before, his chest raising and falling at a normal pace rather than rapidly like before. “Stay with me.” Bhalla’s soft voice and calm demenor, contrary to his previous aura, surprised Y/n.
It took her a few minutes to realise she was there to calm Bhalla down, but she was unsure how. She could just sit there like he said, till he fell asleep, but no.
Y/n could tell that Bhalla was still agitated, sure not as much as he was when she walked in, but he was still breathing pretty heavy and sweating like crazy.
Y/n looked around the room to see if there was anything she could use to help Bhalla and with each little thing she saw, the easier this task became. Now came time for execution.
Y/n looked down at her soft voni and without a second thought, ripped a large piece off.
She picked up the fallen goblet, filled it with water from the vase on the bed side table and dipped the ripped section of the voni into the water.
She gave it a good dunk, pulled it out and squeed the excess water out before she folded it up neatly and looked over at Bhalla. With a gulp and hesitant shaky hands, she wiped the sweat off his face with the cloth.
Bhalla practically melted into Y/n’s voni as he let out a sigh of relief as the cold water caressed his skin. Y/n gave the voni another dunk, squeezed it one more time and wiped only the top of Bhalla’s chest before she gave it one last dunk, squeezed and folded it and placed it on his forehead.
Carefully lifting herself off the bed, Y/n sprinted towards the nearest widow and with a great push, she opened it, letting the cool breeze open to cool Bhalla down. The rust on the windows told her that they hadn’t been opened in a long time.
Y/n ran back to Bhalla, who had stopped sweating but was still squirming around in unease. Y/n looked around to see if there was anything she could do to stop that and put an end to his uneasiness, till she came to a conclusion that there was only one thing she could do.
Show him a motherly kind of love.
Sure, Y/n was told that Bhalla couldn’t feel love, or so she thought, but it was worth a try. She sat back down, and after careful consideration, ran her fingers through Bhalla’s raven dark locks until she had a hold of his head. She scooped his head up and placed it on her lap.
Bhalla opened his eyes slightly to see what Y/n was doing, but when he heard her voice the very next second, he closed his eyes. Y/n closed her eyes and started humming a tune.
A tune that her mother sang to her as a kis. A tune that every mother likely sang to their kids. Y/n brushed Bhalla’s hair back and off his faceand remembered a lullaby.
“Lali, Lali, Lali Lali.” Y/n began, her nervous voice nowhere in sight, now replaced by a soft sing-song voice, “Vatapatrasayiki Varahala lali,” Bhalla closed his eyes fully now, his chest’s constantly movement slowling down with every word Y/n sang. “Rajivanetruniki ratanala lali.” Bhalla’s previously tense body softened down instantly like hard butter melting in the hot sun. “Lali, Lali, Lali, Lali,” Y/n carresed the side of Bhalla’s face as she sang the lullaby, his conciousness slowly drifting away with every verse she sang as he eventually returned to a peaceful slumber.
When Bhalla had fully gone back to sleep, Y/n carefully picked his head up, dragged over a pillow and gently placed him down. She saw his silk sheets flayed all over the bed and pulled them up before tucking him in as if he was just an innocnet little child, rather than the feared, ruthless leader of Mahismati.
When Bhalla was tucked in and peacefully sleeping away, Y/n looked down at his features and wondered what she was supposed to do now? Kiss him on the forehead and leave?
Maybe it was a bit too soon, she thought, considering this was the first time they even spoke to each other. But then again, she thought, she was his wife, and as a wife, kissing isn’t something to be neglected.
Impulsively, Y/n bent her head down and pecked Bhalla on the forehead before bringing her nails to her lips in shyness and spriting out of the room. Even if Bhalla was not fond of kisses, he wouldn’t know, he was asleep, Y/n told herself.
She carefully shut the doors to the room close to not wake him up and trotted off to her very own room, practically prancing, dancing, and skipping as she went, her excitement lighting up the cold dark hallways.
When Bhalla heard the doors to his room close shut, she slowly peeled his eyes open and looked up at the ceiling. Despite the windows being open and Y/n’s damp voni on his forehead, Bhalla’s face burnt like fire as he grazed his finger over the spot Y/n had kissed him.
Y/n hummed the tune of the lullaby to herself as she skipped through the hallways, her stomach unable to stay at ease with the butterflies eurpting through them.
Today was a good day, she thought, a productive one. She had talked to the king- or rather, her husband, for the first time. She sang him a lullaby and tucked him into bed.
Sometimes the simplest answers give the most effective results.
She even figured out what she would need to do from now one if she was ever called back.
Take his head into her lap, sing to him, calm him down and tuck him into bed.
Simple.
Though it seemed very unlikely that she would ever be called back.
But the voices of the other wives came into Y/n’s mind. The king never spoke to any of his wives unless it’s extremely important. He has no business with them and even if he does, he always only sends a servant.
This thought caused Y/n to stop and think.
True.
Why did the king need her if he never talked to his wives?
This unanswered questions left Y/n thinking about all the other unanswered questions.
Such as why was he the way he was when Y/n first entered the room?
Was it a medical condition?
Or was it the result of traumatic events in his past?
And if so, what exactly was that traumatic past?
Why did Bhalla need someone her to calm him down?
Why not one of his more experienced wives who knew more about him than she did?
And the most curious.
What lay behind the velvet cloth?
What was it a portrait of?
Or rather, who was it of?

I thought I had made a post about this before but upon looking back at my archive, I apparently didn't. So, uh, my bad. Here's a Google Drive link containing download links for BlazBlue Centralfiction's visual novel portraits+facial expressions, VN story backgrounds, and the in-gameplay character sprites (no VFX sprites though). In case you didn't want to download EVERY character's in-gameplay sprite all at once, I also separated them by character in folders. I unfortunately, did not do the same for the visual novel portraits due to laziness on my part. I might rework this Google Drive in the future to compartmentalize things differently. Put all of the individual sprite folders in .zip files rather than have loose .PNGs, remove the massive .ZIP files that contain every character's VN/sprite images, separate the VN portraits images by character and leave them in .ZIPs, etc. Edit: I have reworked how I compartmentalized the sprites and visual novel portraits. Every character's sprites is in their own .ZIPs instead of folders with loose PNGs and visual novel portraits & facial expressions are kept in character-separated .ZIPs in their own dedicated folder. Edit 2: I made this post because @kerta-the-53rd requested a Google Drive link for the story images. Not to mention, someone else asked about it before. I am hoping that having this resource available will make it easier for others to make fan edits and tell their own stories with these characters. I am neither a writer nor am I an artist at heart so I am hoping others can tell better stories than me lol.

__________________________________________________________
It was a crisp autumn evening in Seoul. TWICE, one of South Korea's most beloved girl groups had just finished a successful concert, leaving their fans in high spirits. As the members made their way back to their dressing room, they were greeted by a familiar sight, a table overflowing with gifts and fan letters.
Y/N, the group's youngest member, had always been known for her warm and approachable demeanour. She loved interacting with fans and reading their heartfelt messages. Today was no different as she eagerly began sifting through the pile of letters and gifts, a smile gracing her lips as she uncovered the heartfelt words of support.
Among the letters, there was one that caught her attention: a beautifully decorated envelope with her name written in intricate calligraphy. The maknae carefully opened it, revealing a handwritten letter from a fan named Soo-Min.
Dear Y/N,
I hope you had a wonderful concert tonight! I wanted to send you a little something special to show my support. I know you've mentioned in interviews that you miss a snack from your home country, graham crackers. I've included a box of them in this package for you. I hope you enjoy them!
With love, Soo-Min
The younger girl's eyes widened with surprise and joy as she carefully pulled out the box of graham crackers. She couldn't believe that a fan had gone to such lengths to send her a taste of home. Graham crackers had been a staple of her childhood, and she often reminisced about the simple pleasure of dipping them in milk.
The other members noticed their sunshine's excitement and gathered around her, curious about the contents of the package.
Nayeon - What's that, kid?
Y/N beamed at her older sisters.
Y/N - It's graham crackers, my favourite snack from back home! Soo-Min, one of our fans, sent them to me. Can you believe it? *shining eyes*
The members were thrilled for their child and applauded Soo-Min's thoughtful gesture. They watched as Y/N eagerly opened the box and took out a cracker, savouring the familiar taste.
Y/N - These are amazing! I haven't had these in so long... *smiles*
The rest of the members tried a graham cracker and nodded in agreement. They were indeed delicious.
Over the next few weeks, TWICE's angel's love for graham crackers became a running joke among the unnies. She would often be seen snacking on them during breaks, and her enthusiasm was infectious. The members even started calling her the Graham Cracker Queen.
But as Y/N's love for graham crackers became more well-known, something unexpected happened. Fans started sending her boxes and boxes of the snack, turning it into a sort of running joke. The youngest's dressing room began to fill with graham cracker packages, and she couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all.
Y/N - I'm going to have enough graham crackers to last a lifetime.
She joked with her members.
However, as time went on, the availability of graham crackers in Seoul started to decline. The snack became increasingly difficult to find in local stores, and fans began to notice. They took it upon themselves to search for graham crackers to send to Y/N, but many came back empty-handed, frustrated by the scarcity of the beloved snack.
The idol's heart sank when she received a message from Soo-Min, the fan who had initially sent her the graham crackers.
Y/N, I'm so sorry. I've been trying to find more graham crackers to send you, but they seem to be sold out everywhere. I don't know what's happening.
TWICE's honeybee felt a pang of disappointment. She had grown so fond of the snack, and the thought of not being able to enjoy it anymore was disheartening. She decided to keep the news to herself, not wanting to burden her fans with her frustration.
As the weeks went by, Y/N's stash of graham crackers reduced, and she rationed them carefully. She couldn't bring herself to tell the members just how much she missed the taste of home, especially when they had all grown so fond of the snack themselves.
One evening, as TWICE was preparing for another concert, the members gathered in their dressing room for a pre-show pep talk. Jihyo, their leader and Y/N's mama, noticed that her kid seemed quieter than usual.
Jihyo - Is everything okay, cutie pie? *concerned voice*
Y/N hesitated for a moment before deciding to share her feelings.
Y/N - Well mama, you know how I've been getting those graham crackers from fans, right?
The members nodded, remembering the ongoing joke.
Y/N - I love them so much. But I haven't been able to find them anywhere in Seoul lately. It's like they've disappeared, and I miss them so much. *quivering voice while pouting*
The unnies exchanged sympathetic glances. They had no idea that their babygirl had been struggling with the scarcity of graham crackers.
Jihyo reached out and placed a comforting hand on the maknae's shoulder while pulling her onto her chest for a cuddle.
Jihyo - We had no idea you were feeling this way, honey. We're here for you. Omma's here, baby.
Y/N smiled gratefully at her sisters, especially Jihyo, her eyes glistening with tears.
Y/N - Thank you, unnies. I just needed to get it off my chest.
As TWICE took the stage that night, they gave an electrifying performance, but Y/N couldn't shake the feeling of longing for graham crackers. She had grown to appreciate the little things that reminded her of home, and those simple crackers had become a symbol of comfort and nostalgia.
Little did Y/N know that her confession had not gone unnoticed by her fans. In the days that followed, the hashtag #BringBackGrahamCrackersForY/N began trending on social media. Fans embarked on a mission to find the unavailable snack, searching stores and reaching out to companies in a bid to replenish their idol's supply.
Soo-Min, the fan who had initially sent Y/N the graham crackers, took it upon herself to contact the snack's manufacturer. She explained the girl's love for the product and how it had become a symbol of home for the young idol. The manufacturer, moved by the story, promised to do their best to restock the snack in Seoul.
News of the manufacturer's commitment spread like wildfire among fans, and hope was renewed. TWICE's sunflower was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from her fans, who were going to great lengths to bring back the beloved graham crackers.
Days turned into weeks, and then, one evening, as Y/N was preparing for another concert, there was a knock on her dressing room door. Startled, she opened it to find a delivery person holding a package.
Delivery person - Is this for Y/N of TWICE?
Y/N nodded, her heart racing with anticipation. She accepted the package and tore it open, revealing a sight that left her speechless. Dozens of boxes of graham crackers, more than she could have ever imagined.
The other members rushed over to see what was happening, and their eyes widened in amazement at the sight of the graham crackers.
Jihyo - My love, look at this!
Tears of joy filled the youngest's eyes as she realized what had just happened. Her fans had succeeded in bringing back her favourite snack, and it was a gesture that touched her to her core.
Y/N immediately took to social media to express her gratitude. She posted a photo of the graham crackers with the caption:
To all my amazing fans, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You brought back a piece of home for me, and I couldn't be more grateful. I love you all so much. #GrahamCrackerLove
The hashtag #GrahamCrackerLove quickly started trending as fans celebrated their victory. Y/N's fans had not only fulfilled her wish but had also shown her the incredible power of their love and dedication.
As Y/N bit into a graham cracker, the familiar taste of home flooded her senses, and she couldn't help but smile. She knew that no matter where her K-pop journey took her, she had a loving and dedicated fan base who would always support her, no matter how small or significant the request.
With renewed determination, Y/N and her TWICE family took the stage that night, their hearts full of gratitude and love for their fans. As they sang and danced, Y/N knew that she was exactly where she belonged, surrounded by people who cared for her and a box of graham crackers that had brought them all a little closer together. And this made her have only one thought:
I love my life as the maknae.
A/N: I’m sorry for any errors, English is not my first language. Pls, let me know if there’s something wrong, ty for reading <3

parents threw their wealth to get her the best everything, coaches / gyms, training, on call sports medicine doctors ⏤ you name it, she got it
and tbh it actually paid off! a natural ability plus hard work and money is an unbeatable combo it seems. she wasn't simone biles type of dominant but she had a grace and power that was unmatched, and wasn't afraid to push herself to the limit, and was able to rack up golds and medals wherever she went. quite literally poised to be the next big thing
she was known for her prowess but also for her attitude as well; got used to getting golds that when she didn't
enough so that she made her international senior debut at 17, then was recruited for the national team at 19. the 2020 olympics was supposed to be her debut. key word being supposed.
despite her immense talent, she always had doubts and somewhat of an imposter syndrome that she never talked about and pushed into the crevices; but the closer it got to the olympics the harder it got to push those thoughts away. it affected her enough that she started getting the twisties. and unfortunately, you can't throw money at this type of problem to make it go away.
the worse she performs, the worse her parents relationship gets ⏤ not that it was great to begin with, but anyway. one month before the olympics, she gets two bombs dropped upon her during a three way argument with her parents: her mom was having an affair with her current coach, and she was adopted. so you can imagine that her mental health went from bad to absolute shit at this point
she makes attempts to push through because the team is pretty much at tokyo at this point, but it's affecting her too much. before they could tell her that an alternate was going in her place because her bad performance was getting dangerous, she disappears from the olympic village two weeks before the opening ceremonies. doesn't tell anyone, just catches the next flight out of tokyo to ibiza. no plans, no thoughts, just vibes.
of course the team alerts her parents that she's gone and she does contact them, but saerin says she's done. no more gymnastics, too much shit has gone down for her to even get in the right mindset to compete anymore. eventually comes back to korea, and gets diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder which helps her situation ( it does not )
anyway her parents aren't completely heartless and do feel like shit, they do have a talk with her and let her be considering she's 20 and hasn't had a chance at a normal life.
but uh ... you can imagine how reckless a girl who hasn't had to face any consequences could be when the shackles are off her feet and the world is now her oyster lol. she lays low and spends more time traveling than anything and stays tf away from anything sports related. anyway one time a party with socialites got a little too rowdy and she had a little too much to drink which ended up with her getting into a scuffle and with a battery charge.
she expects her parents to get her out of it ( wouldn't be the first time ), but instead they tell her to go to jail or bring home a gold. she thinks about jail for two seconds but decides to put the shackles on once again when they tell her that all they ask is to bring home a gold and they won't ask her to do gymnastics ever again. a fair deal with that, she thinks.
she's 21 then, so it does take some time for her to get back into competing shape, but not as long as she originally thought it would. she's back on the national team in no time. physically, the time off has done her well. mentally? we'll see.
personality wise ⏤
aries sun, aries moon, capricorn rising. "you think i'm a bitch? well you're not that wrong."
she's not here to make friends, just here to do her damn routines, get a medal and fucking go
i feel like if you knew her prior to olympic debut she was less angry. kept to herself still but more starry eyed and pliant. now? since she's had the taste of freedom, to go back into the rigidity that is gymnastics is hard. not sure if she wants to get used to it.
openly confrontational. her dialogue is straightforward and blunt, one of those people who thinks "being real" is above everything. "i said what i said" vibes.
ambitious, but also impulsive and reckless. spoiled and independent? self absorbed. you get the point.
but like i said before she knows she can't come in guns blazing and fuck the world, so she is playing nice to be a part of the team. if you're not a threat, then she can seem aloof. if you are, then she's passive aggressive.
this is all a shield for her anxiety. when it gets bad she lashes out.
but she's not all bad, i promise! if you're able to befriend her then you've got a bull in your corner. she'll fight your battles for you. tbh show her any ounce of love and she'll grab on the point that she stifles it. in her own way?
phew! almost done i promise! onto some plots off the top of my head ⏤
enemies / rivals ⏤ while yeah there's the legacy, i imagine with her personality she's got a lot of people that's not in her corner, and i think it would be fun to play out!
biological siblings ⏤ i mentioned in the bio that she found out she's adopted, but i forgot to mention that she did find her biological family during her 2 years away from gymnastics. it'd be super interesting if her sibling was on the national team too! obviously more plotting needed as this can go several ways.
ride or die ⏤ she's in need of at least one ( 1 ) good friend. someone she'd fight for, y'know? would be even more interesting ( but not required ) if they were opposite in personality too. opposites attract!
sneaky link or toxic rls ⏤ idk, on and off rls, friends w benefits, or something of the sort. girl is high strung and is need of a release that's legal and won't wreck her body. or it could, wink wink. she's bisexual, by the way!
and that's all i can think of, i do much better brainstorming really!

Not me realizing that in my epic frenzy of posting YasMoon moodboards on main I have, in fact, not made any moodboards for my Main Boys in a long time D: Not since the Halloween ones, I don't think???
WELL ANYWAYS. I made the lads a Spotify playlist!!! It was very long overdue tbh, but I finally stopped caring if my irls on Spotify would judge me for having a gay karate ship playlist XD Sorry it took me 2 years into having this blog to make the boys an official playlist ^^;
Now, now, I know what you're thinking. "WHERE is the TSwift??? WHERE is the TSwift that goes so perfectly with my Elimetri???" A valid concern! There are in fact so many TSwift songs that go with Elimetri that they're getting their own playlist. I've got a moodboard for that one coming soon, too!!!
They sadly didn't have neat little lyrics edits for my fave songs from the playlist, so I had to make them myself lol. If you're curious, they are: 1. Can't Let It Go - The Goo Goo Dolls 2. Time Bomb - All Time Low 3. Want You Like That - Charlotte Sands 4. Queen of the Night - Hey Violet (this one actually has a ficlet that goes with it <3)
I hope y'all appreciate my extra-ass moodboard, because I busted my ass making it XD Those text overlays were HARD, dude. I had to do like 50 font changes and adjust the outlines and shadows over and over before any of it showed up D: But I like how it came out in the end, so all worth it <3 <3 <3 Made it blue and purple-toned because they look damn good in blue and purple. RIP the purple hawk, lost but never forgotten </3 Wild that I found a DnD dice with a bird on it. Kind of a dramatic, raptor-looking bird, furthermore. Talk about the fates aligning to perfectly blend Eli's nerdy and avian-coded personality XD
Again, apologies that it took so long for the Elimetri Hyperfixation Account to...make an Elimetri playlist XD If anyone has song suggestions, lemme know in the comments or the reblogs and I'll give them a listen! Also down to do a full-blown lyrical analysis for any of these songs if y'all want it. I am. SO ready to talk about this <3 <3 <3
Moodboard pic credits available upon request, as always!

Jackunzel February Special Week 1 - Spring Lingering Chills
After a very strange winter, Jack and Rapunzel are more than happy to see pastel buds on the trees.
Spring has sprung, and that means beautiful blooms, sunny picnics, verbena and candytuft weaved into braids, lying in wildflower meadows with a book in hand, and days finally warm enough to take an easel outside. Rapunzel gets straight to work planning an activity itinerary for her and her boyfriend, excited to see the neighborhood come to life again.
It’s a welcome distraction from Jack’s January hair-bleaching disaster. Rapunzel did tell him not to order white hair dye from some sketchy, off-brand Arctic Fox company, but Jack always preferred to veer on the wild side.
The moment her boyfriend walked into school with fluffy, cloud-white locks, Rapunzel could tell more than just his hair color had changed. His hand was a little colder when she held it in the hallways. Sometimes when she woke up in his bed after a night of cuddling, the tips of her hair were iced over.
She doesn’t think Jack is an “ice zombie” of sorts. He still has a beating heart and functioning lungs. Also a working digestive system, if the copious amount of pastries he can devour in one setting without consequence are anything to go by.
Nonetheless, they keep Jack’s new “talent” their little secret. No need to get the press knocking down Jack’s door, or teachers and classmates alike avoiding the “freak.”
But it comes in handy that season. Jack can make ice cubes for Rapunzel’s boba--in the exact shape of the butterflies drifting by them in the park, no less. And they’re never in any danger of their picnics going bad--certain resources always keep their mini cheesecakes, strawberries, soda, and fancy cheese wheels (which Jack insists give an automatic +4 to culture and class when consumed) cold.
And, of course, no one’s going to notice if it takes just a little longer for the snow to melt on their street.
***
...welp. This was meant to just be a fun little springtime drabble and then it decided to take an unexpected magic realism/urban fantasy spin XD Modern AU Regular Guy Jack has snow powers now, but they’re chill (no pun intended). Like he’s just vibin and tryna go on picnics with his girlfriend and take nice little nature walks for his health. He can make ice sometimes, but it’s no big deal! Let’s hope the government doesn’t come for him to try and use his abilities as a combat weapon! :D
YOOO LAST SPRING MOODBOARD BUT IT’S A BANGER
...at least I think XD
I’m just been wanting to use that pink-drink-with-butterfly-ice-cubes picture forever tbh lol. ALSO while (as so often happens) looking for OTHER moodboard pics, I stumbled across a pic with a white-haired dude lying in a flower field??? Literally made for this prompt wtf???
And of course!!! The flower meadow painting had to be used for at LEAST one of the spring prompts or that would be illegal. The moodboard police would come for me because that would be an insult to #aesthetics everywhere to leave it out XD Also a jacaranda cameo again because I gotta. I just gotta.
It’s always hard to choose a picnic pic for these things btw because they’re all so pretty and delicious??? I get a pretty aesthetic but at what cost??? My own hunger??? Unacceptable. I must eat a croissant and a strawberry cheesecake post haste.
As always, pic credits available upon request!

[ COMMS BLOG CAN BE FOUND HERE ]
what’s up, friendos! so; i’ve made no secret lately about how hard-up life has been re work / uni / mental health & all of that other nasty stuff. i’m not going to write paragraphs upon paragraphs about why you should feel sympathy toward me. it’s christmas, it’s a tough time of year. we’re all feelin’ it-
most people who know me know that i have a tendency to offer up stuff for free. honestly, if the world (the uk, lol) wasn’t so about money, i’d keep doing this. unfortunately, with uni on one side and work on the other; i can’t currently afford to make people things without some sort of charge attached. because of this, i will set base prices BUT will offer a ‘pay what you want’ option. times are hard & any sale helps -
the guidelines are a good indicator of what i’d charge for my time, but ultimately - you pay what you feel is right.
what do i offer?
fully coded theme with or without pop up page & graphics // £20
backgrounds for existing themes // £10
blockquote icon psds // £5
theme packages (coded theme w/graphics, blockquote, five dash headers, simple mobile header, dash icon) // £30
theme package w/promo // £35
low-poly model // £25 +
( models are more due to complexity / issues that can arise / time taken to create - when purchased, you will receive an FBX file, a BLEND file & three gifs of animations - in terms of modelling, i am a beginner and hoping to experiment in creating various types of low-poly models. i am by no means an expert at 3d modelling but would love to experiment with your character or chosen design! )
examples of my work blockquotes themes promos mobile headers models
any reblogs / likes / contact is massively appreciated - ! my ims are always open & my discord available on request. to commission me; fill out this form OR IM me.

hiya everyone! happy opening- very excited to meet everyone + your muses. i'm jia (s/h, 21+) , and i'll be writing for huh jihye! as always, more under the read more, and if you still don't feel like running for the hills screaming after reading about her, please hit the lil heart & i'll come into your ims for plotting. discord is also available upon request!
background
healthy, wealthy, rich and she is that bitch....
born & raised in california, she's the huh family's youngest (read: oopsie baby) and left to her own devices most of the time as a result, with her parents and siblings all doing their own successful people tingz...
her older sister introduces her to kpop when she's 5, and she's HOOKED. she's at the age where she wants to be an astronaut one week and a teacher the next, so when she tells her entire family she's going to be an idol, they just indulgently nod and smile- and you know what... the next month she's talking about wanting to be an actress, so.
at 14, she gets a casting dm from everlast ent., and she absolutely loooooved mirrorworld's 4 walls, so off to seoul she went! got through all their auditions, but there's a v. good chance her family background influenced it... monkey covering emoji
nepotism only gets u so far tho... and after a year of training she's sick of it. ends up being much more interested in studio time than sitting through japanese lessons, and she leaves when given the option to. joins a survival show a couple months after, because she thinks that may be a little bit more up her alley.
spoiler, it's not! pulling all-nighters just to practice songs she hates and having to handhold bitches who can't even sing on-key... she's absolutely sick of it and it kinda shows! pann-girls have a field day with her supposed attitude. see: chopped up gifs of her glaring at other contestants and having less than absolutely glowing reactions. she's a fake bitch who's trying too hard to be pretty, etc... really, the only good thing that comes out of it is a conversation w/ a producer who tells her she might like it over at culture.
during her audition with them, she tells them straight up she wants to be a singer-songwriter & be allowed to learn more about composing/producing. they're more than happy to, but her first day on the job they put her in a 3-hour dance class. #scammed
buuuuut they also do give her lots of studio time and she's mentored by many wonderful producers, and given opportunities to produce for others even as a trainee so she's a very content girlie.
by the time f/f's started as a predebut project, she's a shoo-in. she's trained for a long-ass time, and the girl's got PIPES on top of what she's got going on for her as a producer! what she doesn't expect, though, is being made the group's leader-- she's one of the younger members, and the role comes as a surprise. she takes it in relative stride, though, and does her best to step up to the role.
personality:
she's currently known best as f/f's leader, main vocal & producer; some think she's only the main vocalist because she has a hand in creating the songs... and honestly? they're not completely wrong! she just thinks she's the best vocalist so she should be getting those parts... lol...
both laidback but also a hard-ass as a leader; runs a super tight ship during practicing/recording. has a super sharp eye and monitors all their rehearsals/performances super closely, and doesn't mince her words when it comes to giving feedback. very much sakura in this clip... believes that they all have to be giving their very best on stage. couldn't care less about what they do outside of it, though. dating? doing drugs? whatever, just don't get caught! is always on the girls' side, though, and is clear when communicating between them and the company.
doesn't do a whole lot outside of the group-- partially to maintain her privacy, partially because she cbf. does a live maybe once every 2 months and fucks off. whatever she does decide to do is very carefully selected so she can maintain her image.
speaking of image!!!!! this is something i'm very excited to talk about and have evolve. she's currently successfully keeping up the perfect idol image very well, but it's also very... distant, in a sense. it's obvious she's not #real, but she's also manufacturing some #real moments. not too many, though- can't have people thinking she's just some girl next door :/ in a nutshell? on a self-made pedestal. love to hate her, hate to love her, she's had no real scandals or controversies after debuting with f/f and she plans to keep it like that, tqvm!
ofc... there is some baseless hate floating around- most of them because of her personality, but she's generally liked by the gp because she's just so good at being an idol & those 'controversies' are largely regarded as losers just being nitpicky.
tldr: she's ai hoshino
reserved & reticent off-screen, but comes off as a generally warm person. stoically takes everything in stride with an unfaltering smile on her face. randomly breaks down when listening to sad songs/movies, but always in private, and it's One (1) tear. u will not get a tear out of her tonight otherwise. takes care of people quietly, but she's always her first priority. a bit of a misandrist, no i will not elaborate. staunchly refuses to write culture a love song. fights with the company 24/7, which is impressive and says a lot about her considering culture's generally more hands off than other companies. see:
culture: hey what about your meal plans and di- abi: finish that sentence and u die by my hand. culture: ok our bad
overall i just think she's a fun muse to have in the mix... if u would like her to be mixed up with ur muse(s) then thank u <3 luv yewwwww if u got to the end of this ....
