Meet Valentin, an exchange student of Eisaku's school from the Passionaryy Cadet School in Russia (Shafarevich's Russian Republic) who also gets terrorised by an unknown entity (a vengeful spirit of the mad regent).

How would the RO react to MC poisoning the person that wrong them and their family but they had a worse fate than death because it doesnt kill then it makes them mad where they basically end up like Sergy Taboritsky in Hearts of Iron The New Order last days of Europe Mod that's where the Clock Strikes 12 comes from and the meaning behind it is quite dark.
Don’t worry, I unfortunately know about the Funni Clock Man and TNO.
Honestly, while some of their siblings might approve of torturing the liege in such a way (cough cough Alb), the ROs would definitely not - especially F. This goes double if the liege’s ensuing madness fucks up the kingdom as badly as Tabby’s madness fucks up Russia.
Making the liege go irreparably mad would not only be rather brutal (and needlessly so, in the eyes of most of the ROs), but it would still keep them as a threat to people like MC and C. In the characters’ minds, there’s other ways of delivering the liege to a horrible fate that don’t keep them as a threat.
TL;DR The ROs wouldn’t approve due to the brutality of the act and the fact that the liege might become even more dangerous if they went mad.

For your opinion which is the best Russian unifier and which is the worst?
Worst is easy, because it's Sergei Taboritsky. He creates a dysfunctional hellscape world in service to his own insanity, is a raging racist, and completely destroys the very concept of Russia. Not that the Reykh and Hyperborea, or other members of the Passionary, or Tuk's WRRF, or Yagoda, or Amur, or the omnicidal maniacs of the Black League aren't bad as well.
Best is a lot harder, because that depends on the criteria. The Tomsk salons are probably the ones that would be the best in terms of a modern perspective, but they're not the best for me because I don't find them as interesting to play. To me, Kemerovo under Yuriy is my favorite unifier because, as I mentioned before, it combines wholesomeness and insanity in a way that is appealing. "King Rurik" creates something distinct by taking modernism with Old Rus' aesthetics and builds something truly marvelous. Russia is broken when TNO starts, and "Rurik" gives the people more than just a functional state, he gives them the critical intangible feelings of hope and pride. There's an event in Kemerovo where two people are remarking at the unusual dress, but they enjoy themselves, and that's what I like about Kemerovo. I think it's essential for people to take pride in themselves, in their past, in their history, and where they came from, and Kemerovo does that in a distinct and wonderful fashion that I can't help but enjoy it.
If I had to pick my favorites from each region, I'd probably go as follows:
West Russia - LibDem Vyatka. It used to be Kosygin in Komi but they've cut him
West Siberia - Not many good choices here, but I've got to go with Yeltsin because he's not a massive alcoholic in this one
Central Siberia - Kemerovo under Yuriy
Far East Siberia - WERBELL! RUSSIAN OUTER HEAVEN! If we cannot count him because he's an easter egg and meme, I'll pick Alexander Men.
I suppose if I had to have a canon end, I'd have a peaceful reunification of Tetris Tsar and King Rurik. How exactly that would work would confuse me, but I'd love to see Vladimir and Rurik get drunk and design a new aesthetic for Russia that combines Roman Gul's liberalism, Rurik's modernism, and the style of the Rurikids and Romanovs.
Thanks for the question, Anon.

“hereditary reactionary” Wait, TNO? The mod w/ the funni clock man?
Yes, unfortunately.
Apparently, some people missed the memo that TNO’s Ivan Serov and Ordosocialism are bad guys and one of the worst endings for TNO Russia that aren’t the Aryan Brotherhood, the Black League, or Taboritsky (the Funny Clock Man).
(I mean, I like the Black League: I just don’t think they’re justified or worth emulating.)

In regards to Akuma Homura I think her "evilness" and "selfishness" gets overblown a bit. Yeah she kidnapped Madoka from the LoC but instead of locking her up in her basement or something like you'd expect from your usual yandere type character she reunites Madoka with her family. The film ends with everyone but Madoka being happy (also Kyubey but no one gives a shit about him)
"Well, then, I suppose, one day, you will also be my enemy. It's fine. I don't care. I'll keep wishing for a world where you can be happy" strongly contrasts Homura with someone like Anakin Skywalker who she's sometimes compared to.
The worst she seems to do is erase people's memories with everything else being hilariously minor for someone who supposedly evil incarnate (knocking over Mami's teacup or making Kyoko waste food) or or probably completely empty threats like destroy the universe which contradicts her goal of making Madoka happy and renders her other stated goal of cleaning up all the curses pointless.
Homura might not have done "nothing wrong" (granted the movie is deliberately left up to interpretation) but she isn't the Magical Girl equivalent of TNO Sergey Taboritsky or something.
I don’t have an actual response, so I’m just going to publish this as a different opinion.

Silly Passionarity Headcanons:
1# Taboritsky
-He can be either most selfhating or selfassured person. He thinks he can do everything- However do not ask him to fix anything. He'll gladly agree, however will end up breaking the object further- He's the kind of guy to take apart your drawer, sneer that you didn't dust off the insides before he did. "Look at these drill holes, what fucking dipshit put this closet together? Amateur, or worse, bolshevik." Now he has never considered himself a carpenter but the lack of skill or respect to something so simple will infuriate him, and with the sweat rolling down his temples, so god help him, he'll try to fix it.
and the next minute the drawers wood shelve floor will crash down. He'll try to take appart the metal bars that help move the shelves, and 30 secs later the screws will be scattered all around the room and next thing you know he is in the corner of his room, sitting thinking he can't do anything right.
2# Serov would be impartial to modern popmusic. Katy Perry - Dark Horse is in his playlist, charlie xcx maybe too?

Imagine if Abbadon from TNO, a leader and High Priest of a Satanic cult called the Brotherhood of Cain in Post Taboritsky Russia, would have managed to summon Lucifer using blood magic, only for him to see the twink Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel, thinking that this is the one he had been worshipping and committed human sacrifices for.

I’m pleasantly surprised you enjoyed a Divine Mandate Of Russia run. More than a few folks on Reddit complained it was thematically inconsistent with the rest of the mod; Men’s Christian anarchist utopia is too wholesome for TNO’s hell world. What’s your take on that criticism? Feel free to use this as a prompt for any other TNO topics you want to write about-TBH
People can like and dislike what they want, one person's thematic nuisance is another person's enjoyable excursion. Honestly, Sablin's wholesome path annoys me more than Men's, because it furthers a rather perfidious historical falsehood about Lenin, but that's what the original Sablin did, and honestly, I'd expect a Soviet Union that collapsed against the Nazis to create an even stronger hagiography about Lenin than the one that existed in our own timeline. So that's ultimately forgivable, and the content itself is pretty fun. Given how hard Alexander Men's utopia is, I'd say if you learn the system well enough, it's your reward to get the optimistic ending. And if you just cheat, console command delall your enemies because you want to explore the content, that's fine too. It's fun content, so why not want to explore it?
So ultimately, I don't consider the criticism itself valid, thematically speaking all of the Russia content is making sense of the falling of the Soviet Union and attempting to further whichever unifiers' mission into the world. That could be said for a lot of things in the world, an overriding mission either for good or for ill. And it's not like Alexander Men faces any difficulty, he has his own temptations for power that ultimately ends up becoming The Temptation of Jesus, with lethal consequences if he succumbs. How is that more thematically inconsistent than the Italian democratic path with the struggles of the Via Fani massacre or the kidnapping of Aldo Moro? Or the struggles of HMMLR, either the Labour Path under Harold Wilson or the Tory Path under Jellicoe (I know he's technically NDL, but let's face it, he's a Tory) to repair the idea of Britain from the 20 years of collaborationist rule and the anti-democratic forces within their own party? That being said, while I don't think it's valid, if they don't like the path, that's fine too.
I've played most of the paths for TNO, aside from a few. I still need to actually play the Russkiy Reykh and Hyperborea, but I have done everyone's favorite funni clock man. I've done every Germany playthrough, every USA playthrough except for Hall and Yockey (not that there's much there for the 1972 candidates), and I've done a Takagi playthrough though Japan is very buggy. I think my favorite ones are the reformist paths, whether that be the USA struggling to assert itself as a leader after the Kennedy assassination, the UK rebels, Italy and Iberia attempted to dismantle their fascist structures as they struggle with being a young democracy, or Meyer-Landrut actually trying to make life bearable for the people suffering in Ostland. Some of the evil paths are fun, like Okhtan, but I find the struggle of the folks caught within the hellworld of TNO who try to make it better rather poignant. Even in the bleakness of the post-Taboritsky world, you've got Artamov or Sobchak trying to do what they can for Russia.
Would people like an AAR for TNO? I might do one if there's interest. Maybe I'll wait for Toolbox Theory and explore the Wallace Bennett content.
Thanks for the question, TBH.

Anon’s question is the perfect springboard for TNO tumblr talk! How believable is TNO’s alt-history? Assuming the answer is “not very”, why is TNO an exception?-TBH
Yeah, TNO’s history is even less plausible than Kaiserreich’s, but I enjoy it for a plethora of reasons.
One is the sheer ambition of the mod. For a mod of a grand strategy game, it is arguably more interactive fiction and political strategy than a strict grand strategy game, and the fiction itself is pretty well-written. The game takes events from history and transposes them into its setting, and it combines history with fiction to craft something interesting. I can’t help but be impressed by the desire to craft so much content. For a dark future mod, there’s a surprising amount of idealism and romanticism to be found, from Valery Sablin trying to establish an idealistic Soviet Union to the salon democrats of Tomsk to Boris Yeltsin attempting to reform Russia. You have genuine reformers that can gain power which all have their own paths, and you also have some truly dark future stuff that demonstrates just how utterly fucked a world is in a scenario where the Axis powers actually win. There’s even some creative flourishes thrown in, from WerBell basically becoming Big Boss from Metal Gear to Taboritsky making a pseudo-Imperium of Man. That’s a great deal of content. It makes sure that the idealistic playthroughs are hard, it takes excellent strategy and management of resources to work out reformist or idealist paths, thus rewarding the player for excellent skill with happier ends, and the negative ends show how cruel systems beget cruelty and continue the cycle of suffering. But victory is achievable if you work at it, making sure the effort isn’t all moot.
For two, the game actually lances the tropes of the lazy Axis victory scenarios that are frequently written in fiction and takes grand strategy games themselves to task by portraying exactly the sort of real-life consequences that “paint the map” games would actually be. Nazi Germany isn’t portrayed as a ruthless but efficient dictatorship but a dysfunctional mess propped up only by sustained looting and mass slavery. The United States as a faction leader can run roughshod over their fellows and turn a blind eye to domestic suffering in the name of sticking to Germany, sticking the “America saves the day” trope squarely on the nose. Baseline Hearts of Iron 4 never offers any incentive to de-militarize the economy. This is sensible on its own since one of the chief challenges is mobilizing your economy for a world war, it reflects the challenge that Great Britain had in the interwar years so it makes sense for that to be a progression point from a gameplay perspective. A permanently militarized economy cores itself and consumes all its resources, and that’s not represented in game, but the mod shows just how that would destroy a country long-term.
So, while it does do some things I don’t like, it does things I do like much better.
Thanks for the question, TBH.
