TMAGP 36 Thoughts

Just got back in time to write this - I've been rehearsing for a play. Spoilers below cut.

The mention of betrayal setting Celia off. Ooooh boy. What an insight. Okay, so Alice is broaching theories now - that EVERYTHING is coming from Hill Top Road. I doubt this highly. Connections between hell and alchemy? It's a hypothesis I suppose, good alternative for the Balance idea. ELRIC AGAIN?! I sense major bad guys coming on... Hmmmm. Weird teleportationy thing. It reminds me of astral projection. I'll have a look into astral projection and alchemy. DPHW???? DPHW???

AND THEY'RE DETERMINED BY CASES??? GANG ARE WE ONTO SOMETHING?? or is it a computing term I've missed. Thoughts? have a look at old cases and then try and sort by “W” - yeah I fucking wish I COULD DO THAT ALICE So I guess four categories? now, then. Alice is starting to go samwards and I am getting worried for her health. If you'll excuse me, I'm about to do some research into astral projection. So it's linked to the 'body of light' idea proposed by the Hermetic bunch including Alisteir Crowley whose work hasn't come up yet, but it does come up in TAOIST ALCHEMY. So there is a tenuous alchemical link. What I think I should do is research concepts from this sort of period and crossreference with statements.

felt like TMAGP had more object-focused episodes than early TMA did, so I made a table because I'm a massive nerd. I couldn't figure out how to classify some episodes so I counted them for both, totals without ambiguous episodes are in brackets.

here's the results: TMAGP has 11 object-focused incidents, while TMA had only 8 (5) in the same amount of episodes. TMAGP has 9 entity-focused (people, animals and avatars) incidents, and early TMA had 14 (11). I think it says quite a bit that TMA statements are more ambiguous than TMAGP's.

my hypothesis was correct, TMAGP does indeed have both a majority of object focused incidents and more object incidents than TMA. full spreadsheet under the cut, if you feel differently about any episodes then let me know, I'm curious to see how other people feel about this :)

Yesum, I actually have another post revising my thoughts on them. Current working hypothesis is A = Spiritual (Transformation into avatars is the only lead I have on this one and I'm very unsure.)

B = Bodily

C = Cognitive

I am inclined to agree that TMAGP 25 should still be a BC cuz there is now way that did not cause some mental harm. Though I could argue with myself that the point of it was largely physical. Cuz EVERY case could be argues as Cognitive harm.

Though some notes, Jonny did say that it sorta seems like Sam is getting a bit lazier with them (the media that the statement where taken from, i.e. [Email] [Video Call] [ect] have not been included in some of the more recent episodes.)

And although I do belive I was wrong about the regret thing, Needles did say in his statement that he liked the regret in their eyes, but I don't think that was entity related, so a bit of a mute point.

Still, we need more data.

So Dash or R does stand for rank them. This breaks things down to:

Categories 1,2,3 and any combination i.e. 12, 23, 13 (would a 123 be possible?)

(R)ank A,B,C and any combination i.e. AB, BC, AC (Same Q? ABC?)

I saw someone else's post on this and it looks like we are headed in the same direction. I suspect CAT;

1 - caused by person/avatar/monster

2 - cause by a place/location

3 - cause by a thing (not necessarily tangible)

However, Ep. Give and Take (DPHW basically stands for "A MASS gathering of Stuff" Agglomeration means "collecting in mass" and a congregation is , for the purposes of this, a gathering of people, animals, or things) and Doll, Watching don't fit this. I see the argument for both these events happening "at a place" (the "donators/employees" came and brought the stuff to a "location" and doll don't move, so you kinda have to go to them (a place/location)), but they also involve "things", but... this should be as good segue as any

I'm assuming they all have to do with fear, right. This is a horror podcast, horror is meant to cause fear. So I'll be working with this assumption until I'm told/proven otherwise

i'm not one to share theories here but. after thinking about it for a while and going over the magnus protocol episodes (and re-listening to the entirety of tma) i cannot in good conscience dismiss the idea that celia is secretly jon, in one way or another. i don't know if she has his memories or echoes of what happened or they body-swapped or something but i have plenty of evidence to argue my hypothesis and i will not let it go until i have strong enough in-podcast counter-evidence

ok it's WILD how several months ago i had this silly tma fanfiction/theory idea about ~what if somebody came into the magnus institute knowing what was going on (because they're from another universe or a time traveller) & also knew what would happen and then burnt the place down to prevent the apocalypse haha wouldn't that be so interesting~

and now in this episode celia is talking about potentially preventing the end of the world in the context of the destruction of the institute and also she might be a time/dimension/timeline traveller from the tma universe herself
