GWEN (compelled) When I was a little girl there was a shed at the bottom of the garden that I was always told never to go inside. There were tools and sharp and deadly things that were not right, too dangerous for a little girl-

[ID: A digital comic in two images of Samama Khalid and Celia Ripley from The Magnus Protocol on a gray background. Sam is a fat South Asian man with short, curly black hair, and a mustache and small goatee, and he is wearing a turtleneck, a cardigan, black nail polish and small black earrings. Celia is a slim Korean woman with short black hair, and she is wearing a button down shirt, a vest, rectangular glasses, an x-shaped earring, an industrial piercing, and snakebite studs. Sam is colored in solid red, and Celia is colored in solid green.
The first image is three drawings of Sam. The first is of him looking up pleadingly with his hands clasped and his eyes large and sparkly with sparkles around his head saying "Ahem, please?" The second is him holding up two tickets and smiling, saying "Ta-da! These incredibly exclusive, hardly-discounted, barely obstructed theatre tickets?" The last is him holding up the tickets to himself to read them and saying "I don't really know much about it, I just thought-" His eyes are drawn as dots in the last one.
The second image is of Celia smiling down at him with half-lidded eyes and an amused and slightly scheming smile. She is blushing lightly with a thought bubble next to her with partially blocked out text reading "I need to (blank) him and (blank blank) him until he (blank)". The censored parts also contain pink hearts on the black censor bars. end ID]

i feel like the fandom underestimates lena way too much.
when she first gave gwen the job, i saw people talking about how "pathetic and stupid" she was to allow herself to be blackmailed, when i'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing, especially considering how calmly she responded to gwen's attempts at blackmail. she would NOT be that nonchalant if she actually feared getting her secret exposed.
similarly, after the new episode, people are acting like lena knows nothing about what gwen did when i'm pretty sure she does. i may be wrong but lena definitely seems to know a lot more than she lets on and she's two steps ahead of everyone. i think she's just playing dumb so that people won't suspect anything.
i mean, come on. she's dealt with externals, many of which were likely normal human beings or worse, rich assholes (see: lady mowbray). not to mention, she already knows how much gwen despises her. she's seen how petty (and incompetent) gwen is. do y'all really think she's dumb enough to trust gwen after all that?

I will literally defend Samama Khalid with my life by the way. Sam fans get behind me we have a job to do.
If feel like a lot of the time his actions are taken heavily out of context or the reason behind why he thinks a certain way is brushed aside. Like how he acts towards Alice for example. Her being protective of him seems to have been an issue in the past for them, and her going behind his back to mess with his case files has only strengthened his distrust in her, and so he’s even less likely to listen. They clash naturally due to their opposing coping mechanisms; Alice chooses ignorance and Sam has to know. He thinks he can handle it, and it will likely be his downfall.
There’s more nuance to how he acts than him just being an asshole without reason, and you can not like him as a character, but please don’t make him out to just be an asshole, when there’s so much more to his character and motives.

expanding on my previous post actually every single oiar employee (including lena) is autistic they all just have different and clashing presentations. that "weird interview" celia and sam were discussing in episode 6? yeah that was just lena attempting to give a poorly-disguised diagnostic test.

I just know Alice was biting her tongue that whole time because ain't no way Sam came to work drunk and is telling her about being professional. She's a better woman than me I would've started lecturing him right then and there instead of the few snark comments she made.

So I decided to re-listen to TMA to prepare myself for TMAGP and stumbled upon a beauty of a time-travel-fix-it-fic and the imagery and writing brain blasted me.
Tumblr media
The fic is Jon goes back and gets a semi happy ending (as a treat) and I swear it’s my new favorite both for the dialogue and setup!
Anyway I threw my phone reading the below bit and I had to share the exert and a fan drawing both for my own sanity and to inflict others of course.
*********************************
‘He stood there with a half-filled cereal bowl, the other half on the floor from his frantic jerking motions, and his hand on the handle. Now the smart thing to do would be to turn around, leave his apartment and crash on Georgie's couch until he could find a new place.
Unfortunately for him, Jon's curiosity won out in the end and he pulled the door open.
What greeted him was not something one would expect from a refrigerator, sure there was the regular stuff inside like milk, leftovers and other produce that would spoil if left to sit outside, however, the back of it had been replaced with a hallway. As if it was simply a doorway to the dimension beyond, except with small hinges on the right side, which meant the door that connected the hallway to the back was swung inward, his refrigerator was now a sort of bridge, connecting his apartment and the distortion’s hallway. And in the doorway was Michael, hands deep in some leftover potato salad Jon vaguely remembered buying and caught in the act of doing... whatever the distortion wanted his potato salad for.
Both of them stared at each other for a while, Michael was frozen in shock and Jon from bewilderment, until Jon eventually managed to gather his words.
"Could you pass the milk, please?"’

I think Gwen should be the one to take out Mr Bonzo and it should be by brutal pipe murder. She deserves it.

Have we yet discussed the possibility that the reason that Gerry’s hair color isn’t mentioned in tmagp is not because he has a good dye job now, nor because he does not have one at all, but because Happy Gerard Keay is actually just Bald As Hell?

Note
how would lena treat pens that have run out of ink?
she actually has a small collection of them in her drawer because she refuses to throw them away. she wants them to know that they're loved and valued, even if they're no longer useful.

Okay I've been avoiding any TMagP theorizing on tumblr on purpose. It feels too early. But this is a thing I've been spinning in my head and I like sharing my thoughts too much so.
Augustus as Jonah makes a lot of sense. Everyone has said this. The letter being from around when Jonah lived, the theming of the statement fitting Jonah really well, the VA feels like Jonah, the .jmj error, all of it. (Side note: if it is Jonah, his first statement being the one that aligns most closely with a single Fear from Smirke's fourteen is interesting and I've not seen people talking about that). The thing is, it feels like it makes too much sense. Jonny was not that heavy-handed in TMA. It could just feel more heavy-handed because I'm looking for those details, but even then. He also said that not only was knowledge of TMA unnecessary, but that it could trip people up. I absolutely would not put it past him and Alex to use that to their advantage. Do I think it's possible that the third voice is Jonah? Of course, it's too early to rule it out. But the whole thing practically reeks of misdirection.

I realize this is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but: I don't think Chester and Norris are Jon and Martin. Not from the original TMA, anyway.
In the first place, there's been so much emphasis put on the fact that you don't have to listen to TMA to get TMAGP that I feel like hinging a major plot twist on...something you'd have had to listen to the entirety of TMA to fully understand would be kind of unfair. And they've been calling it a "side-quel", not a "sequel". Besides, the whole beauty of MAG 200 was the ambiguity of the ending, and I can't see Jonny or Alex being keen to give a definite answer now. As they've said, "the text is the text".
In universe, the timing doesn't add up, either. The Eyepocalypse began October of 2018, and while obviously time didn't mean anything after that, I think Jonny said he'd envisioned it as being six to eight months between MAG 160 and MAG 200. Something like that. Either way, we're talking 2019 sometime that...whatever happened, happened. Alice said the voices only started "about a year ago", and the time stamps on the forum thread from TMAGP 001 were all dated 2022. Even if that was a thread that just got locked a couple hours before Chester read it to Sam, it still means the talking started around 2021 at the earliest. You could make an argument that they needed time to recover even a little of themselves, but two years?
I think it's more likely that they were someone involved in The Magnus Institute of this world. That maybe they were part of some study and...didn't come out of it well. That something happened to them relatively recently and they're trying to reach out to someone who can help them, who can fix it.
I dunno. I guess we'll find out. I just feel like it's too early to pin any one theory down as confirmed, and I am worried that if too many older fans get too hung up on the idea of it being JMart - of this being "somewhere else" - and then it turns out not to be them at all, there's going to be a massive fandom outcry about something that never existed outside of people's heads.
