“Hey, swing me.”

You tell Jungkook, situating yourself more comfortably on the wooden platform attached to the chains.

“A dollar per minute.” He says, standing up from his own seat and placing himself behind you.

“I thought you hate capitalism? What is this?”

“This is forced labor.” Jungkook says with a groan that you think is a feigned exasperation, since you begin to feel movement right after it.

“You broke my hairdryer the other day. Consider this your compensation.” You look up at him to give him a smarmy smile.

Fom where you’re seated, you realize just how… big his presence is. It’s not the looming, ominous type, though – it’s quite the opposite. When Jungkook surrounds you, you find a bit of comfort in it. A huge one if you want to be honest to yourself.

“And I already bought you a new one. We’re even.” Jungkook squints his eyes at you.

You laugh.

“You’re gonna borrow and break it again.”

He visibly winces. “Touché.”

Jungkook swings you while you talk about your day, just like usual. He asks you about your laparoscopy that kept you from having lunch with the rest of your friends at the hospital earlier that day, about your new scrub cap, and you gossip a little about the new lab tech having a crush on the scrub nurse you both know.

For all his complaints earlier, Jungkook seemingly doesn’t seem to mind having swung you for the past ten minutes now. He’s relaxed and gentle with his movements, and his voice is quaint and soft as he talks to you.

But then you start to feel bad for him so you tell him to stop, standing up from the swing.

“Okay, your turn.”

Jungkook gives you a big grin.

“Nice.”

You chuckle at his enthusiasm when he sits on the swing chair this time around. But when you attempt a push, he barely moves, prompting him to laugh.

“What weak ass push was that?” He says incredulously, looking at you.

You jut your bottom lip out. “You’re heavy and I’m drunk.”

The second time you push him is more forceful but then Jungkook voices out a complaint after the third, fourth, and every single time you do it. You roll your eyes at his tantrums, but then suddenly, you think of a much better idea.

You push him off the swing with all your remaining strength even though your body feels like jelly from all the alcohol you consumed an hour ago.

“What the fuck, __?”

You burst out in boisterous laughter at Jungkook’s state, his hands and knees planted on the ground. He then sits on it, clapping his palms together to get rid of some dust that gathered on his skin.

Without thinking too much about it, you make quick steps over to his direction and situate yourself beside him.

Jungkook looks at you, confused, but you only give him a grin.

“Let’s lie on the ground.”

“What? No!” Jungkook immediately opposes it. As you expected.

You scrunch your face. “Oh! Look at me! I’m Jeon Jungkook and I’m a germaphobe and I’m afraid of dirt!” You say, intentionally making your voice a pitch higher.

Jungkook deadpans. “Pathogens can kill your cells’ metabolic machinery, so, yeah? I’m afraid of dirt.”

You roll your eyes at him and while he goes off about how they can also cause a toxic massive immune reaction, you push his chest forcefully which catches him off guard, prompting him to lay on the ground. Before he can say anything, you take his arm out to spread beside you and you use it to rest your head on.

Jungkook stops his rambling after that.

“See, shut up.” You say, backhanding him slightly on the chest. You fix your gaze at the skies. “The sky is beautiful tonight. Worry about your pathogens next time.”

Jungkook chuckles, and you feel the vibration of his body as he does so, being so close to him. As you peer up to look at him, you see him folding his other arm to lie his head on it.

You smile, going back to looking at the sky.

“This is like in The Notebook.” Jungkook says after a beat of silence.

“Right?” You grin. “And with the pathogens, too.” You tease.

Jungkook laughs, pinching your arm in his reach. “God, shut up about your pathogens.”

You chuckle at the irony.

“That’s me,” you point upwards, referring to a big twinkling light in the sky. Then, you move your finger towards the star beside it. “And then that’s you, ‘cause I’m a bigger star than you.”

You feel Jungkook look at you from his position. “You are so drunk.”

That causes you to giggle, clutching your stomach because you can’t stop laughing at pretty much everything tonight.

“I feel like I'm not anymore. My head just feels like it’s floating but no, definitely not drunk.”

“Whatever you say.” Jungkook says, chest vibrating from laughing at you.

“Hm. Race you to sleep, Jungkook.” You snuggle on his armpit. As you do, you smell a waft of your water lily springs body wash from Bath and Body Works. “Can you stop using my body wash?”

“What?” You can hear Jungkook say, but as he calls your name and more, his voice starts fading. “__? Hey, don’t sleep on me.”

You hum, eyes still closed.

“__, hey!” Jungkook grazes your arms. You can feel your head moving as Jungkook starts to sit, guiding your back to sit upright. He calls you again, gently tapping your cheek to wake you up.

The truth is, you’re really sleepy, but not so much that you can’t hear him anymore or move on your own.

Jungkook gives up trying to wake you up, though, convinced by your acting. Soon, he goes over in front of you, reaching for your arms and placing them around his neck.

“Just put your legs around me, yeah?” He whispers against your hair once you’re glued against his back.

You hum, intending it to sound like a mumble so Jungkook thinks you don’t actually understand.

Jungkook fixes your legs around him, standing up, bouncing a little to get you nice and snug in his back. You smile at the prospect of a piggyback ride.

“I know you’re awake, silly,” He says suddenly, his voice painted with amusement.

You stifle your laughter against his neck, breaking your supposed to be convincing act.

“Race you to the car, Kook.” you whisper into his ear.

Jungkook scoffs, but he doesn’t say anything more until you reach his car. He wears your seatbelt for you, though, and tells you to drink more water from his tumbler.

You fall asleep easily mid-drive.

In the morning, you wake up with a banging headache, your eyes catching the sight of a post-it note on your desk with one tab of Advil.

I'm feeling bad about the people waiting on TGK & TLP, I want you guys to know I'll go back on writing more. I have the scenes in my mind, I just don't know when I'll write it.

So, in the meantime, I'm sharing this very short sneak peek of another story I'm writing as a mea culpa 😊

As an aunt, you had a little bit mocked your older sister of her constant need to know of her children's well-being. Now, as a new mother yourself, you understood, and wished you had been more empathic regarding your sister's new role as a mother. You found those new feelings of constant worry, fierce protectiveness and infinite love overwhelming. 

Waking up from your much needed nap, you got up from the bed, mind still foggy with sleep and wincing from the pain you still experienced from childbirth   – and will for the weeks to come according to the midwives – You walked over to the crib you had insisted be situated on your side of the bed, in front of the filigree iron screen on separating the bedroom from the living space. Panic seized your heart as your eyes fell upon an empty crib. You put the baby down a couple of hours ago and folded the blanket partially over her to keep her warm. The cloth was never put above the babe's waist to assure it wouldn't suffocate her. Once she would start moving around in a few months, the blanket would be removed completely to avoid any accident. Both newborn and blanket were at the present, gone. About to yell for the maids and guards to come in quickly, you started to march for the wooden doors, only to breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of your baby in your husband’s arms. Leaning against the frame of the filigree screen forming the entry to the bedroom, you allowed yourself a moment to calm your racing heart. His presence somewhat took you by surprise. 

Being a new father and the King's son in-law didn't release the Lord Commander of the Gold Cloaks of his duty. Which explained why he was currently standing in your shared chambers in his full City Watch regalia complete with the golden cloak strapped on the shoulder. The strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms barking orders at newly assigned soldiers, making them shake in their boots at the eventuality of facing the wrath of the man called Breakbones was undeniably very arousing – You both stopped counting the times  it led to the irresistible thrill of almost being caught whether it was by a member of your family, a maid or a guard. – Nevertheless, Ser Harwin Strong was not to be messed with and Gods help those who had and those who will have the unfortunate experience of the fact firsthand.

I swear why is it that the ONE project I’ve been waiting for forever is the one that’s making me wait the longest! 😭😭 I honestly can’t believe we got xiao chunsheng before shiying. The day TLP airs and I see shiying on my screen, I will cry after every episode for how much they made us wait. And also cry because I won’t believe im really watching shiying on my screen. p.s im new here so I don’t know if it’s always been like this but I like your little personal/textual and contextual sort of posts you drop every now and then about the political situation in china, hot searches, articles, controversies basically whatever’s happening around in the fandom sort of directly and not directly linked to xz/wyb that turtles like me have no info about. I know a lot of people are heavily anticipating The Longest Promise, and that's swell n'all, but don't do so at the expense of overlooking The Youth Memories. As I said recently, it's SO GOOD, and anyone who loves GG and loves Wei Ying will love his character in this drama.

Meet my girl Eliza Hopp!

⁽¹⁷ᵗʰ ᵒᶠ ˢᵉᵖᵗᵉᵐᵇᵉʳ, ¹⁸⁰² – ¹⁸ᵗʰ ᵒᶠ ᴶᵃⁿᵘᵃʳʸ, ¹⁸⁴⁸⁾

— "Eliza" is short for nothing. Her name is just Eliza. Her name is just a partner name to her mother's, "Beth."

— More about her name: she lacks a middle name (common for her species before 1837 and the mid 1800s in general, although there were cases of this happening afterwards too) and her surname, "Hopp," came from her half brother. It was originally "Hop," as he was half snowy tree cricket, but was changed to "Hopp" later on as an homage to mayor and Eliza's dearest friend, Rainn Fort.

— She's yet another butterfly puppet!! Beth is a holly blue whilst Eliza's father, Jeremy, is a brown/orange butterfly puppet of an unidentified species.

— She has two half siblings, Cassandra Flinders and Thomas Hopp, and two step-parents on both sides of her family, Crispin [step-father on mother's side] and Nyx [step-mother on father's side]. Through her half-brother Eliza has a sister-in-law named Alessandra Hopp who's a gramophone puppet (illegally built), and through her half-sister a brother-in-law named Benjamin "Ben" Flinders who's an anthro lyrebird originally from Eastern Australia. Eliza is also an aunt of seven kids thanks to Ben and Cassandra: from oldest to youngest they are Bellatrix, Samuel, Juliet, Daphne, Fiona, James, and Ashley (M). If this wasn't enough there's also a funky Scottish spirit dude named Duncan who helped nurse and raise all said kids so that they'd survive.

— Technically she has a husband named Rhys Maddox but only when their souls go and live other lives and end up meeting each other on Earth again via new lives and all that junk. They don't plan on having kids but they love each other very much. 😌

— As of mid 2023 she's no longer a resident of Nowhere And Also Everywhere aka "the afterlife," but will return once her current life passes on.

— In terms of personality, Eliza was quite the pessimist and was known to have a very low self esteem. She saw herself as not good enough to do anything but be anything but the town maid (HEAVILY influenced by her backstory) and was very quiet, only speaking to a select few people she felt like talking to: Rainn Fort, poet (and commonly credited founder of the town TLP, alongside Rainn) Matthew Milkweed, Cassandra, and Thomas were lucky enough, among others. Since being dead, her conditions improved.

— (Read backstory for context) Due to her upbringing she struggled a lot with mental illness, specifically depression and anxiety [PTSD and OCD are possible for her as well, but I need to look more into the former and develop her personality a lil more before I make a final judgement.) Even more well known was her maladaptive daydreaming (not a mental illness but oftentimes a symptom of one), which started in early childhood and lasted for the remainder of her life. It's very likely her maladaptive daydreaming played a major role in her untimely demise. On top of maladaptive daydreaming, it's very possible she's hyperphantasic, as I see her having a very vivid imagination.

• Here you'll notice she lacks clothing. She's depicted with a rounder segmented body above but actually has a more rectangular body type without any segments. Lack of clothing was first made popular in the 1960s and became accepted in the mainstream in following decades but with the exception of the first puppets in the 10th century, this wasn't the case. Puppets wore clothes, albeit quite raggedy (basically think "poor person in the Middle Ages") and torn, especially those that worked in manual labor. Here, Eliza's without clothes simply because she didn't have a dress design.

• Eliza with her half-siblings!! She and Thomas were very close to each other before she passed, and both were very depressed and angry at the world thanks to very very less than ideal living situations growing up. Cassandra is more of a mediator figure in the trio, see. They might not look it here in this doodle but they were actually quite close during their time together. All three of them lived together in one house and Cassandra frequently visited even when she moved out to live with her husband.

• Here's a good example of what caterpillars look like! These babies really are like insect puppies, if puppies had a more plant/fruit/vegetable based diet (too much meat for a caterpillar can cause stomach aches). They typically have 6-8 legs and having a "tail" depends on genetics. Eliza here doesn't have one! Caterpillars oftentimes have their future wing prints on their body, kinda like a fun Easter egg for what's to come. Eliza has black spots since Holly blue butterflies have small black spots on their wings :)

• A version of the doodle above except she has a dress. Nothing much to say here besides um. I don't think I can draw loose clothing on complex forms too well.

Eliza's Backstory (1802 – 2023)

CW: Backstory includes mentions of slavery, childhood trauma, segregation, and death

— This backstory is currently incomplete you can help by expanding it. Some details are still a WIP but I'd say it's coherent enough to count as a character backstory.

— A lot of the lore in the backstory was written by none other than @fishyfishyfishtimes ! She's an amazing worldbuilder so please go check her out. She only posts fish/sea creature related things (for now?) but maybe you like that too, I dunno.

Eliza was born (read as: hatched out of her egg) thanks to two puppet slave parents, Beth and Jeremy, sometime in 1802 (usually recorded as "the 17th of September" for simplicity); she was born in a household in London and spent the first couple years of her life around the house with fellow small children and even human children. Like many to-be slaves, contact with her parents was extremely limited if there was any contact at all as many children of slaves couldn't recognize who their parents were or were even allowed to interact with anyone outside their immediate field of view, or alternatively, they were to be sent off to a different household to work.

Reasonably, her living conditions for the first 35 years of life were less than ideal: like many "weaker" and more fashionable species, such as the butterfly, Eliza was resigned to do indoor tasks (most notably cleaning, given her fixation later on) and on rare occasions she would have to do garden work. She lived a life entirely at home, unaware of much of the outside world. Her time was mostly occupied by her excessive daydreaming while she slaved away.

This all changed on the 22nd of May, 1837, a day that's very well known in the (Universe) UK and around much of the world: after 8 centuries of being treated like mere "puppets," the first instance of puppets gaining personal freedoms finally occurred, on this particular day in British territory. Some human families paid royalties to those that had been treated so horribly. Puppet building was officially banned. There was only one nasty catch: instead of being integrated, both puppets and humans were now segregated by law. Thousands of puppets were grouped/grouped together themselves and left areas declared to be "human" areas (mostly big cities, such as London). Travel was allowed but heavily frowned upon by both human society and puppet society alike.

Somewhere in the midst of the chaos, Eliza got in contact with two puppets in particular, Cassandra and Thomas, who turned out to be her relatives. From 1837 – 1839, the trio traveled from developing town to developing town, eventually landing in a developing town between the counties of Kent and East Sussex, Townlocationplace ["TLP" for short]. Eliza quickly became infatuated with the mayor, Rainn Fort. The two became best friends but Eliza wasn't too content with just being friends. Unfortunately, Rainn had instead married a mute dragonfly woman named Alice Brown. This upset Eliza but she didn't push it. The pair remained good friends; Rainn helped her with literacy and even bought her new clothes to wear.

Eliza, however, remained in the cycle she was born into. If not in bed daydreaming, she would be seen wandering around the streets of the town aimlessly. On one of these trips, this proved to be an exceptionally dangerous practice.

On the night of the 17th of January, 1848, Eliza had written a love note to Rainn, wanting to deliver it to him in person. She had no clothes appropriate for going out in the snowy cold, only a gown. In the early morning hours she'd instead gotten lost and froze out in the dark.

Not too long after her soul was transported to Nowhere And Also Everywhere ("the afterlife") where she remained until finally trying to live a brand new life in the late 20th century. As of mid 2023, the present in the Universe, she's still living on Earth.

Hello. I hope I'm not bothering you but, what happened to ForksFiction? I've found her Carlisle Story through you and I can't find her blog and the story hasn't been updated in a long time. I thought maybe you know something? Cause it's rather sad, the story is phenomenal and she has great skill. I just hope nothing serious happened to her. :(

You’re definitely not bothering me! I figured it would be best to get an actual answer straight from the source and contacted her. Here was her response: 

“the literary pharmacy has been abandoned for a while due to real life issues but I do want to pick it up again, preferably soon. I am currently reworking the chapters I have written so far since I've kinda hit a roadblock there, but I am still very tied to the fic and do want to finish it. As for my blog... Ah, idk. I have been thinking of bringing it back because those edits where a lot of fun, but in that case it'd be just for me. I'm no longer interested in fandom discourse or anything, since the whole situation in the fandom has become so bizarre and aggressive that it's no longer something I want to be part of. Well see. Let me share some thoughts I have with the class..

I myself have 3 guy best friends two of which track from my childhood. All of my guy friends are currently in relationships with lovely girls and naturally we spend a lot of time together as a group. But lets backtrack a bit to almost a year ago when only 2 of them had gfs (one of which is long distance so she wasn’t present). It was my bday and we hadn’t hung out alone in a while since they got in a relationship so I thought that it was a good chance for us to hang out like old times just the four of us. So when one of them suggested (more like announced) that his gf come with I was a little bummed out. After he realised his “declaration” he then properly asked if she could come with and obviously I could not say no. We ended up having a blast anyway but the thought of not seperating friends with lovers still irks me to this day. And its more so the fact that they hadn’t been together for even half a year at that point. I don’t know if it is just me but I really appreciate it when people put effort into their friendships and its those little moments that count especially to me bc yeah you’re a good boyfriend for prioritising your girl all year round but spend some quality time with your friends too you know? :/ Its been a year now and the amount of times that I hung out with them alone could be counted in one hand, but at this point I’m okay with it since I realised we’re getting older and things are not always going to be the same.

Anyways that rant came bc oc decision to invite mingyu over triggered me a bit. If I wasn’t clear until now the act of that seems foul to me(depending on the circumstances).

Also incase u think im weird; let me add that no I dont only have guy friends but our friend group kind of got split up ever since moving away for uni and I just ended up in the same town as them so their the only best friends I have around. I still am in touch with my girlies and we both try to visit each other as often as we can but you know how things are. Now I’m just yapping anywho I love the chapter thank you for your service 🫡

i get that!!!!! ive also had some experiences tthat mirrors this situation, where some of my taken friends invite their s/os to our friends hang 🥲 and even tho most of the time we end up hving a blast, sometimes it ends up being a disaster 🥲 its lowkey uncomfy, esp when u dont know their partners at all and sometimes i find myself asking why my friend invited them over in the first place and wish they just didnt 😭 you want to be nice to your friends s/os!!! unless theres reason not to be. my take on it is that, if u and ur friends cant say no due to formalities, i think the (taken friend's) partner should be the one to initiate inviting themselves out but thats just my opinion lol

but in the case of tlp, jk, just like u, couldnt say no!! and oc.. well i dont really think she thought well enough about it. shes just so blinded by her infatuation (early stage of relationship jitters and giddiness) that i think she overlooked some boundaries. the rest of the gang discussed it too (the on call room scene). but yeh, everybody makes mistakes, and tlp!oc will soon realize this in part 3, dw

Asia was the first Christian woman sentenced to death under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and only the second to Ayub Masih, released in 2002, whose blasphemy case has gone up to the Supreme Court and released.

Earlier, on October 8, a three member bench—Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel—heard arguments from both sides and reserved the verdict until today.

Hey Dee! Ok so I was rereading tlp again and one thing that I was a little bit confused about but didn’t really think too much of at first was the fact that oc never stated that JK was her roommate… and more importantly when she did have a chance to explain she decided to completely hide it instead, not even correcting Mingyu assuming the roommate was a female. Oc even processed that Mingyu will likely be understanding of the situation (which he should anyways) but the current excuse is that their relationship is still fresh but I wouldn’t think that it’s that big of a deal?!? I don’t know if I’m overthinking this but I don’t think the true reasoning has been revealed just yet and maybe oc doesn’t even know the true reason she hid it at the time too. Really looking forward to if more is revealed in part 2 (ofc take all the time you need 💜) and I’m actually kinda here for more angst hehehe

"oc doesn’t even know the true reason she hid it at the time too", thats a good point!!!! there's a passage in part 2 that lets us gleam on some of oc's experiences when she mentions that she has a male roommate, esp when she tells them that he's her best friend. those experiences lead her to do the only "logical thing" for her at the time which is to lie to mingyu, bcs as she said, the relationship is fresh and she doesn;t want to deal with any arguments too early in the relationship. she still doesnt really know him well, yet, and i think she's walking on egg shells around him still (ie: not telling mingyu that shes lactose intolerant). bcs of her hopeless romanticism, i think she just has this incessant need of wanting everything to be perfect like how she imagines things to be, not thinking that could blow up in her face (which happened in the last scene of part 1)

PM summons meeting of allied parties

Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of allied parties to take them into confidence over agreement with the banned outfit and current situation of the country.

According to sources, PM Imran will take PML-Q, MQM, GDA and BAP leaders into confidence. The premier will also consult the allies regarding important decisions of the government.

A day earlier, PM Imran Khan also chaired a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee. During the meeting, the premier took the core committee members into confidence over talks with the banned outfit.

Imran Khan said that talks with the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) was the only solution to the problem as he does not want bloodshed in the country at any cost.

“I never support use of power and chaos because no one can get benefit from the lawlessness. We have tried to resolve the current situation amicably. Negotiations were the only solution to the problem,” PM Khan said while talking to the participants.
