quick ‘n rough liveblog for TLOVM ep 2!

- this beginning portion is mostly making me think about the post talking about Orym as a guard and how it puts a face to the characters that are often cannon fodder in fantasy. hmm.

- Grog not knowing the meaning of doom in a very “that sign cant stop me because i cant read!” kind of way and i approve of it.

- TRINKET RECIEVING CUDDLES FROM THE GUARDS. As he deserves :’) same, guards. same.

- actually its a good thing trinket isnt allowed in the palace bc i cannot focus on anyone else when he’s in the scene. whose a good boy looking for pets. whose a good boy :’D

- gilmore!!!!!!! pike just caught in the middle. had to see tusk love. rough day huh pike.

- vax u disaster bi, FOCUS, although i get it, gilmore, yes.

- okay but- i fucking adore scanlan and grog shenanigans?? this is so good??

- i have 0 ground to stand on about dialogue preferences when some of my favorite jokes are grog being mildly perplexed by common phrases.

- you know.... despite my extreme lack of trying to avoid spoilers... i somehow didnt know the general krieg twist was going to happen? This was great. excellent. wonderful.

- vex being a little shit about vax and keyleth? :) codependence flaring up? :) yes. yesssss.

- vex briefly losing control of the VM braincell at the sight of gold only to belatedly realize they’re in a dragons horde? excellent.

- i adore keyleth, i really do. you’re doing great keyleth. u didnt fuck up keyleth. :)

- okay this battle sequence? exquisite. Genuinely fantastic- in composition, in flow, showing off how the characters interact as well as their capabilities, gripping, fantastic, etc. like. hell yeah. hell yeah!!!

- i might come back with more productive commentary later but i just really really enjoyed that. 

- vex running out with gold in her arms. love that for her. 

- vAX WHY WOULD YOU STOP IN THE COLLAPSING CAVERN. I UNDERSTAND THE SYMBOLISM YADDA YADDA BUT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED COULD YOU NOT DO THAT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PORTAL

- we have a home, sister. .... i’m ruining a moment, arent i. maybe but its okay!! vax finds it endearing and vex- vex WILL find it endearing. err. eventually.

- oh no theyre hot

overall thoughts:

- this episode felt much smoother! both in terms of dialogue, and pacing, and Vibes(tm). Pilots are always a little tricky, but its a relief anyway. The gore is still a liiiittle jarring sometimes but that might just be me not watching very many gorey cartoons/anime, and it felt much more in place this ep.

- the fight? in this episode? fucking incredible, beautifully done. like- hell yeah. 

- the little character interactions-that’s what im here for and they are DELIVERING. The little one liners between them, the arguments, poking each other in the background. yes. yeeessssssss.

- i get why multiple ancient dragons is bad for VM but i like the dragon animations so im thrilled :)

- someone on the team really didn’t like the existence of ribcages, huh? lotta peoples midriffs getting punctured/runthrough/hand stuck through them, etc.
