So this idea has been bouncing around in my head nonstop so I’m going to go ahead and jot down a few points before i forget. AU (or have this take place later on in The Who Framed Roger Rabbit timeline) where Mickey and Oswald are internet/YouTube famous, meaning Mickey’s a vlogger and Oswald does video game let’s play. They’re both each famous in their own right and both cameo often in each other’s videos.

Oswald, along with the games he plays, also demonstrates how to fix electronics. He meticulously goes through the step by step process and you can find how to fix just about anything on his channel. His reactions to video games also make his channel worth the visit. Oswald has his internetcelebrity status and fans to thank for his prolonged existence as a just-comeback-toon from the 1920s. Drunk history, guess staring Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, is also another popular segment on the channel. Animation history, no surprise there, is one the most popular and most searched up items — Oswald is salty af and does not hold back and Mickey is surprisingly not a lightweight when it comes to drinking; alcohol doesn’t have much effect on him, not unless he drinks a lot and well Mickey mostly always drinks until he’s very tipsy. It’s the reason why there isn’t many of these segments, despite its popularity; Oswald dislikes it when his younger brother drinks.

During Oswald’s repair segments, Mickey is nine times out of ten Oswald’s assistant, tho it’s usually on the third try that he finally hands his brother the right tool.

Mickey, on his channel, documents his day to day life and the things that happen around him. His perspective on life is usually what gets people to watch in the first place — how can someone be so goddamn optimistic — that and how he always seems to get into the most ridiculous scraps, even for a toon. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit can often be heard in the background of his brother’s videos, making a sarcastic remark or attempting to pull his little brother from danger; let it be known that Mickey Mouse is an adrenaline junkie and he’ll jump into the fray without thinking of the consequences. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is no better, not one to turn down a fight when provoked into one, but at least he has self preservation skills. Oswald can be heard saying this quite often , as they hightail out whatever situation they’ve just stumbled into.

Oswald’s channel is called OsTown and Mickey’s is Epic Mickey.

Headcanon that if toons want to curse but can’t (because they get censored), they use code words instead. For example, to say shit, a toon would use the good ol’ classic “Sugar Honeyed Ice Tea”. I like to think the moment no one is listening, most toons just go ham with words.

I made a new son, plz love him. His name is Timothy Oswald Mouse and he’s in the Lights On Verse for my delpad-under-bad-circumstances/ducktales AU. He’s Corrie’s best friend and partner in crime.

He’s also present in Toon Life Ain’t That Great AU, being the son of the mouse himself. To the surprise of many, his ma isn’t Minnie — he doesn’t have a mom — the animators literally only created him for Mickey’s Christmas Carol and that’s it in this AU it’s not Mordie playing him. As a result, Tim isn’t very well known. Unrecognized toons become bitter and disenfranchised as the years go by and Tim’s no exception; after all, many expect to live up to his father’s *forced* legacy. //Mick may not even want Tim to follow his footsteps, maybe he wants his kid to have the opportunity to do whatever he can, everything Mickey wasn’t allowed to do because he was the Studio’s cash cow and rising star and it’s all he’ll ever know. Maybe he want him to escape the cycle of show biz.//

Tim’s middle name is obviously a reference to his uncle Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, his father’s brother. And fuck I messed up which foot is the messed up one. Frickbdbdbdbsb

When you have an idea for an AU (with multiple scenarios) but don’t have any idea where to start.

An addition to the previous post I made about voice headcanons for the bros in the AU/Verse and for @jswatson-holmes, who asked for details about the bun boy’s voice,

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, during his run with Disney, was never given a voice, since his films were never given sound. He does eventually get a voice, albeit in a very unorthodox way.

In the AU, Oswald’s voice actor is the one and only Frank Welker, tho his voice used to alternate between that of Bill Nolan, Mickey Rooney, and June Foray. This is because they were his voice actors after his rights were obtained by Universal. Unfortunately, Oswald’s voice was usually garbled, almost static, in how hard it was to understand, because this was around the time he was redesigned by Universal. Essentially there are two versions of Oswald after the 1930s; ‘Disney Oswald’ and ‘Universal Oswald’ - though universal Oswald ceases to exist circa the late 1950s. Disney Oswald couldn’t speak at all until the late forties (we’ll get to why in a minute) so back then, he resorted to communicating through speech bubbles above his head or with sign language. The few times Oswald could speak, it was unintelligible because he was trying to use his counterpart’s voice and rules between Studios blocked those attempts. 

Oswald gains his voice spontaneously in 1946 (which is coincidentally the year Frank Welker was born.) Most people in the Studio attribute this occurrence to toon magic/logic, as this is how Webby Vanderquack’s existence (2017 version) is explained. Oswald is very happy with his new voice and the Studio has another voice to add to it’s cacophony. He’s been forced to be quiet for too long and he refuses to go back to that. 

When Mickey’s voice suddenly disappears after Walt’s death, he and Donald teach him sign language. During his brother’s silent years, he almost cut a deal with Maleficent to have her restore his brother’s voice. Donald stops him from making the deal final; the resulting actions of this wish would have destroyed the rabbit and those around him.

Oswald can imitate all the voices Frank Welker himself can do which includes (and is not limited to): Spock’s screaming voice, Megatron, Simba’s Roar in the Lion King, The Shadow Blot, Odin, Totoro, etc.
