Duckvember Day 24: Adventurous Duck

So @cataradical and I have a thing with some Nega-verse OC kids going on adventures much like how the Ducktales Triplets and Webby go on adventures. Though, since it is the negaverse so they are allowed to roam wild more and do these adventures without adult supervision. Mainly because the adoptive ‘Dad’ of most of them is Gladstone’s Negaverse version. And he lets his kids run free because his uncle had him locked in the basement as a kid so HEY let the kids do what they want.  If I had time to write some full stories with them I’d be sure to have to be a parody of Stranger Things. Instead of them checking out paranormal stuff, they are the paranormal stuff.  Soooo I think listed oldest to youngest: PICTURE BY @cataradical

Rouenna: (tallest with the black hair) Negaduck’s and Nega Morgana’s accident baby. Usually stays with her mom but can be found running around with this group of kids. Even though Macawbers and Despells don’t get along, Magica is nice to her when she’s at the house. Its not her fault her mom is a subpar jerk. Teehee. Rouenna is @cataradical and its not mean to say she is dumb because cata says she’s dumb. ;-; She got good magics tho weh.

(Nega) Gosalyn: following the canon version we saw. She’s now a teenager and been taught light healie magic by Nega Magica. She wears a sailor moon style outfit at times. Whee. Still her normal bubbly self. 

Kage: Also @cataradical  but my char Faustina gave him his name. A clone of Negaduck that SHUSH made. The plan was to have him rapid grow in a tube to adulthood and then replace the real Negaduck with him so Scrooge to backdoor take over St. Canard somehow. Something like that. Nega Scrooge is worse than Negaduck soooo. Negaduck tho attacked the lab before that could happen, breaking Kage’s tube at him being 8ish years old? Kage lived on his own a bit before Faustina found him and they hung out because they’re both RAD. Of course Faustina’s parents then adopted him. Whee. Kage ends up being the leader of these hooligans. The only non-magic user in the group. I see him a lot as Robin in the Teen Titans. The smart strategist is surrounded by people with powers but handles himself fine without powers. WHO NEEDS POWERS WHEN YOU GOT CHAINSAWS AND BLADES BRO. Though he might be the one with smart plans he’s still as chaotic as Faustina and Rouenna though. So how is he gonna reel in those two when he can’t reel in himself sometimes lol. I’m sure Gos helps with that. 

Faustina:  She is Nega Magica and Nega Gladstone’s kid. She wears fluffy dresses and acts like a cute little Victorian child much like Nega Gosalyn. However, she does not have the same attitude. She is a little beastie that can use ‘blood’ magic and has been known to bite people. I mean the others in the group bite too but she has the worst bite hehehe. 

Orin: (not pictured)  He is Faustina and Kage’s adopted baby brother. He actually doesn’t come on adventures being that his is a wimpy BABY. His only job is not to narc to his  parents where the rest of them all went. Also Cata’s char. 

I see them going on a lot of the same adventures the 2017 duck kids go on. Also, Faustina needs to ‘consume’ a certain amount of luck before her 13th birthday or she implodes so a lot of the treasure hunts are for luck related artifacts too.

Question 1. I don't know if I have a favorite character of mine to draw, but the first character that popped into my head was Darragh, probably since I used to draw him A LOT & know how to draw him pretty well from all the times I've drawn him before! (I'm hoping to get a light board this holiday season so I can actually finish an updated version of his reference sheet soon!)

(You know, writing this list out has made me realize how much I like musicals... & DreamWorks Animation???)

Question 3. The oldest OC that I have is my first OC! I haven't drawn her in a long time, but her name is Magic & she initially was one of those classic "character a child likes, so they barely recolor the character & call it their own;" the actual character was Spyro from the Skylanders series! (Yes, I love "Pug Spyro!") Initially, the only difference was that she had white accent colors instead of gold/bronze. As I got better at drawing & designing characters, I began to actually make her more original & less like Skylanders' Spyro (pictured below!)

The first drawing (which is actually the first drawing I ever made of her!) is from 2014, I think in April; I believe we were going on a school field-trip that day to a trampoline park as a reward for the good students? I drew her with no reference in class with my pencil & colored pencils on a piece of notebook paper! Whenever that day was, it was the day I decided to take art seriously & was the start of my journey to getting as good at drawing as I am today!

The second drawing is (I think) from around 2018 when I really started to try & make her legally distinct from Skylanders' Spyro; different shaped horns, fin-like ears, furred belly & (not pictured) tail tip (kinda like Banjo's)! I made that drawing with my old & cheap watercolor set on what (I think) is sketchbook watercolor paper; & yes, that tiny little portrait is in a tiny little picture frame!

The third drawing is a concept doodle for a 4.0 design for Magic from around 2021 or 2022? I never finalized the design, but the idea was to really change her body type into being more chubby & pear-shaped like some stuffed animals I have, as well as adding stars to her design since I think of her as my "spark of inspiration" for where I am now! Since I've been working on redesigning another dragon-like character of mine recently, perhaps I'll finally get around to finalizing Magic 4.0, who knows!

Abner Whitewater Duck

Headcanon A:  realistic

Living out in the woods livin’ off the fat of the land. Cranky guy but likes his cousins well enough. Probably as a kid was a bully type but when his cousins got bullied he’d bully those bullies back. Ha. This goes for old style and 2017 ducktales/verse.  

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

So in an 87/comics storyline I hope to put out some for SOMEDAY, long story short Gladstone finds out something supernaturalish is happening tied to the Coot bloodline. Gladstone has to vaguely/awkwardly ask his cousins like HEY this weird stuff happening to you too. But being vague because if it's not happening to them he doesn’t want to draw attention to it??? But he needs to warn him if it's a thing they’re having issues with too??? While all the cousins are like nah nothing strange going on. 

Abner is the last cousin he goes to because he’s a recluse in the woods and never seemed the type to believe on spooky magic supernatural stuff. As a kid Abner probably told his younger cousins that the Easter Bunny wasn’t real. Ha. ANYWAYS. Gladstone goes to him with his vague, ‘hey notice this thing going on…’ and instead of Abner laughing him out of his shack he’s all serious face like, “OH I been knew about that buddy.”  

Anyways I see him as being a little knowing of magic. Like some light basics ‘kitchen witch’ type. (Which I have Grandma Duck be a tiny bit like too…) It would just be a detail so the opposite of the rest of how I see him as stereotypical recluse mountain man. Tough silent tired tough boy with some dry sarcasm. Pours a beer in a protection potion he’s making because one of the ingredients is mead. Close enough. You know what the world needs, a redneck Dr. Strange.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

God I had this one AU for 2017 that Abner is living away from the family in the woods because he’s a werewolf (wereduck?) NOT THE ONE LAUNCHPAD DATED. He’s living in seclusion because he doesn’t wanna accidently hurt family. Weh. He’s very angst and alone about it. However Fethry is also a werewolf but more chill about it. Stays with his brother during full moons but still out socializing when NOT FULL MOON. (Though during time in the under water station since he was under water away from the moon did he not change? Or did he change and explain some of the mess down there. Ha…) 

 The whole AU isn’t fleshed out much though even though Abner is going through some things. The AU was just made for me to ship Poe with Fethry and Poe be like  “I’m a warlock and am dating this innocent cinnamon roll that will never understand the darkness of my world” but then Fethry takes him to visit his brother and Fethry tells Poe about being a werewolf and Poe is like “OH THANK GOD Please rail me behind the barn.” And Abner just has to be like:

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Man I would love to see a Fethry and Abner adventure comic. One of my fav comics is Fethry and Gladstone working together on an adventure and Fethry seems oblivious that Gladstone’s luck is helping them succeed. I would like to see something like that with Fethry and Abner but Abner’s being a tough aggressive guy is what is helping them. Like a wild bear is behind Fethry that he doesn’t see and about to attack him but Abner just gives the bear a death glare and the bear backs off and runs off before Fethry can see. LOL. THAT kinda hijinks.

Who do you think Encanto's characters in DuckTales would look like?

Do you mean if they would have similarities with the main cast, or just what species they would be?

I haven't given much thought to what species they would be in the DT universe. I wanted to, but I just don't have time/mental energy to entertain that thought much. If I were to make DT designs them I'd either go google species native to Colombia and work from there or make them all ducks for the sake of simplicity. (I do have plans to draw this magical family...at some point...)

So, because I don't have time to google Colombian animals now, let's say all of them are ducks. And we have plenty of ducks to work within the canon of the series. Also dark skin=dark feathers, light skin=light feathers. Here we go!

Abuela-light brown feathers, grey hair. Probably looks somewhat like Downey, but with darker feathers.

Julieta- a duck of average height, light brown feathers. She seems to be a bit more flat-chested than the rest of the family, so probably Della's general body shape in DT verse.

Augustin-a white duck, he is tall and lanky so pretty much "what you would get if Gyro were a duck"

Peppa- a white duck with red hair. Also, she is a bit taller so, probably Magica's body shape.

Felix- dark brown feathers, we haven't had that many plus sizes characters in the main cast so the closest I can think of would probably be Gosalyn's grandpa, but younger, in terms of body shape.

Bruno- Light brown feathers, Fenton's body shape.

Isabela- Brown feathers, probably Daisy's body shape but a bit taller.

Luisa- very light brown feathers, body shape of younger Beakley.

Mirabel- Light brown feathers and in terms of body shape, probably closest to M'ma.

Dolores- brown feathers, similar to her mum, she would probably have a body type similar to Magica.

Camilo- light brown feathers, and body type similar to Lena's. (Yes, I know Lena is a girl but, for younger ducks, the models are very similar so *shrugs*)

Antonio- an average duckling with brown feathers.

And just for the heck of it, Mariano- light brown feathers and he is buff but not overly so, Drake's body type.

This was surprisingly fun and quick to think of. I stopped mentioning hair after a while because just slap whatever hairstyle everyone has on a duck and call it a day.

I was trying to think of what would work within the show. Obviously, Augustin and Julieta don't have the same height difference as Gyro and Della, nor does Luisa tower over people to the same extent as Beakley does over DT characters, but DT is more exaggerated than Encanto so I think it works.

☾ ˚⊹  ❛❛  GENERAL QUICK CROSSOVER GUIDE

So crossovers are usually difficult for a lot of people. So, because I tend to think about these things, I thought I would make this comprehensive list/guide to writing crossovers with me. This isn’t anything in concrete, but to get the ball rolling or to help make it easier for both sides to contribute to plotting. It can be hard when you don’t know the fandom.

FNF, or Friday Night Funkin’ is a rhythm based game around rap battles. The Protagonist (known as BF) is trying to prove himself and win over his Girlfriend’s (GF) Dad, and it spirals from there. Gameplay style, it is very similar to Dance Dance Revolution, and the music is a fast pasted dubstyle/chiptune soundtrack.

What a lot of people know FNF for, however is the Mods. Due to it being on Newgrounds, and the creators having it be open asset, many creators are able to make their own “weeks” for players to challenge their skills in. Ruv, and those within Mid Fight Masses, are one of those mods. You can find most of their lore scattered in the scenes of their week, or by going on their official FNF Wiki.

Now, what does this mean for crossovers? I put it under a read more, simply because this is going to be a lot. I’m going to explain crossover verses I have. How I make them, and how YOU could have your character be in the FNF verse quite easily. So go under the read more to continue reading.

☾ ˚⊹  ❛❛  RUV IN OTHER UNIVERSES

Here are some just ideas that I came up with. While not EVERY interaction will work with these, they are ideas. They’re meant to kick start ideas and inspirations. I do not consider these full verses until I’ve talked with the other mun to make sure that they are okay with it. These can easily be changed, and swapped out for different things. My main goal here is to try and keep Ruv down to his core elements while fitting into a new setting.

POKEMON- Ruv, along with Sarv run the church- which she has turned into a sanctuary and a Nursery. Much like in Canon, Sarv is supernatural, and Ruv as a run away criminal vowed his life for all eternity to protect her. With church’s going out however, the next next step would be a PokeNursery.           Ruv acts as protector of the Nursery from trainers and groups alike. He usually is seen sitting on the roof, throwing pebbles at kids or passerby’s who irk him in some way. You can always find his Onix, his Low-Key Toxtricity, and his Absol around him or the nursery at all times. He does still have his strength, speed, and other abilities. The “face” he has is also a mask- an attempt to hide his identity as the wanted criminal.

OWL HOUSE- Ruv was a wanted criminal for the longest time. His magic, due to where he was born was a lot less like those around him. He could fit into the covens, but anything he did reflected back on him. Living alone, and learning to just modify himself he became a wanted criminal with a bone breaking shout.            However all of those times soon came to a stop as he met the winged mistress he stays with now. Protecting her (though she is much more than capable of protecting himself) she runs one of the many sects in the area. It isn’t the best building, but it’s out of the way and he usually isn’t spotted. However, unfortunately his past comes back to haunt him. He has no choice, and begrudgingly assists the Guards to repay for his crimes.           Tied to Sarv through magical bonds, he has made it clear to those in charge and to her- should something come between his duty as a guard or her, he would chose her a million times over.

DUCKTALES- Ruv is the petrified remains of the guardian of St. Sarvente. Awoken as the earth was shifted off of it’s orbit and forced into something it’s not, the callous guard is in search of the one he calls Sarvente, whom he claims is the Ruler of Souls and the one he Vowed to Protect. He is, 100% made of stone.

TOONTOWN- Stickfigures aren’t uncommon drawings. One’s as complicated as he and Sarv though usually get a few eyes. Not only that, but video game characters are always treated differently in Toontown. Maybe it’s because of a developers history, or lack there of. The story of Ruvyzvat being a heartless killer however spreads like wild flower, and while he and Sarv will primarily stay at the church... sometimes curiosity becomes too much.

KINGDOM HEARTS- FNF is it’s own world. Keyblade turned into a microphone, Ruv & Sarv are some of the first that would be met. Despite their challenge, they are rather distanced from the troubles of the Darkness and Light and would be semi-good companions. 

THE BLACKOUT CLUB- Ruv is a 16. Any day will be the day that a voice will end up taking over, merging with his mind. That’s fine. Much like how Seed-The-Grudge would want, he’ll just get revenge.

HAZBIN HOTEL / HELLUVA BOSS- Ruv ironically enough is one of the few in Hell who does not make him dead. In fact, in some cases that can make him extremely rare. This crossover he IS able to accompany Sarvente into the Underworld, and follow her on her treks through it. While most assume he is a dead sinner, he usually just doesn’t answer. However something about being here and meeting those who reside within the land sets him off. He’s a tad more feral, and a tad more willing to go to the violent answer.

PORTAL- Violence core. What else is there to say? Alternatively, him being a test subject would be fascinating, especially if he was grabbed post-vow. The man is immortal, and therefore would have messed with the tests just by the fact that there is only way for him to die. Death isn’t the worst thing to happen to a man however, and he does still feel pain.

RWBY- Ruv has the ability to manipulate sound waves, specifically his own). Trained with great strength and and even greater speed, his form of combat is continuously dodging as he looks for a weak spot. Weapons of choice are shot gun snow boots, and his sickle that doubles as a short sword.

DOCTOR WHO- Sarv has the ability to create portals. While they are MEANT to be used to intergalactive travel, but instead parallel world travel that in of itself is monumental for a lot of DW plots. Ruv and Sarv can easily go from one universe to the next, however chose to stay in the church. Not to mention Ruv’s skills in target elimination and his abilities would make for some individuals to repurpose him into a weapon. While they have been approached by UNIT on several occasions, they always refuse. However, enough time has passed that they’re starting to notice that the couple in the church aren’t aging...

FNAF- RUVYZVAT and SARVENTE were creations of Fazbear Entertainments as karaoke machines... if we want to go the robot route. If we want to go the normal person route, Ruv was hired by Fazbear’s because it’s one of the few places that doesn’t do a background check, and when he said he wanted to wear a mask as part of the work outfit they were all for it. He runs the karaoke machine though. Stays away from quite literally everyone. While he isn’t the infamous killer of children here, he does have a reputation of his own that he is running from, and that does tend to make him silent.

BATIM- Criminal on the run stumbles into the wastelands formerly known as Bendy’s. Actually enjoys it at first because the cartoon was popular when he was a child. ALT. Stickman drawing of one of the artists come to life. Usually pretends to be Lost One, but when he’s alone with another (Sarvente) they turn into their stickman version selves. Has the ability to jump between 2 and 3 dimensions, but none of the strength or voice.

PSYCHONAUTS- Agent Ruvyzvat, Russian sector. Ruv is working for the Psychonauts in some weird, turning event. Mainly because the sole woman that he trusts and saved his life, Agent Sarvente brought him in. The two are inseparable, and despite Sasha and Nein being infamous for their clinginess, these two take it to a whole knew level. Ruve’s “loud voice” is actually a psychic ability he can use outside of the mind to jumble and confuse thoughts and has no damage on anything physically in the present.

GRAVITY FALLS- Sarvente is a Demon, much like Bill. Where sa Bill desires nothing but chaos and madness, Sarvente is trying her best to keep the world like it is and preserve it’s beauty. Seeing such beauty in a runaway criminal, she and he run to the forests of Oregon. Throughout Weirdmageddon, neither managed to be captured or turned to stone, however Ruv seemingly gained his incredible voice abilities. Now, they live in a semi-collapsed church out in the forest. Sarvente always asking those who come her way to join their church, Ruv is suspicious why such events would happen in such a small town, and is distrusting of most everyone he sees.

DETECTIVE CONAN / KAITOU KID / ANY ANIME OR SERIES LIKE THAT- VERY infamous criminal. Take his “Wanted Dead or Alive” that exists in all other verses, and ramp that up quite a bit. Usually wears a mask whenever he is committing a crime. He does seem to be in it for the fun, though it’s hard to tell with the stoic and expressionless looks. That being said, he does seem to have a very clear goal of what he wants. There are no patterns to where he hits, or what he takes. From wallets of people off the streets, to priceless artifacts. He’ll find where Sarvente went, and how they were able to change her mind in such a way.... how they could corrupt her.

MODERN / NON-EXTREMELY FANTASTICAL- Ruv is honestly a rather down to Earth individual, in some terms. He is untrusting of EVERYTHING, but also due to his own strengths finds little that fear or challenges him. Keep him mind he did make a deal with Lucifer (or his Lucifer) for Immortality for protecting her. While he will always be doing things on his own, a lot of his end goals and motives will come back to her. Without her involvement, he is a walking, talking, machine of destruction with no sway on which side he decides to tear apart.

☾ ˚⊹  ❛❛  GENERAL STOPPING POINTS FOR WANTING TO PLOT

DON’T KNOW THE WORLD YOU’RE FROM / YOU DON’T KNOW MY LORE. - That’s fine. I can get my hands dirty. I can research. In fact I usually would love nothing more to. I love learning about new fandoms, or new media to get into. You shouldn’t be afraid of that. As for mine- It should take someone less than an hour to get through all of the links I have posted in the RESOURCES tab in my bio. I’ve timed it. So if you have an hour to spare, or 15, or just enough time to read his wiki that’s fine. He’s not from a long running show, or anything like that. You can catch up extremely quick.

WELL WHAT ABOUT A BOOK/COMIC? HOW WOULD HE FIT IN?- If we are talking about Super Hero comics, then it depends. 90% of the time I will just play up his wanted status a lot more, and make it more of a reason for an interaction. You just ran into a man who has killed hundreds. If your muse is a super hero, or a vigilante? Would you let him go? What a villain? That might make a good partner.

TV SHOW? LIVE ACTION?- Again, it depends on the type of show. Superhero follows the same above. If it’s investigative, have him be a witness. Or a falsely accused man who can prove he isn’t the guilty party. Is it more supernatural- well he did make a deal with Lucifer and is an immortal now from it. There are a million ways to spin it. Don’t look at making him a big character. Quite honestly, side characters that you pass in the street have just as much backstory, and as long as there is a plausible chance of interactions then we can work it out from there.

☾ ˚⊹  ❛❛  GENERAL IDEAS TO BE AWARE OF THAT MIGHT HELP

HE IS A WANTED CRIMINAL.- Meaning his name Ruvyzvat is known. Despite his crimes going on for decades, he is on the run and never stopped. Several city, state, countries, and possibly nations are looking for him, and looking to take him in.

HE IS ALSO AN IMMORTAL.- While he hasn’t been around forever, and nearly not as long as Sarvente has been, he HAS been around for at least 100 years, give or take some. He can be injured, but even fatal injuries heal in an almost Deadpool like way.

HE ALSO HAS SUPERNATURAL POWERS.- His speed and reflexes alone is not something to be taken lightly. He does train and fight with Lucifer on what used to be a semi-regular basis. He has moved and adapted to be able to make sure no one but the singular person he trusts is able to lay a hand on him. That isn’t to say you can’t catch him off guard. You also have his inhuman strength to worry about, but most of all his voice. His voice which could completely demolish a building, and that isn’t the full strength. He has an amazing control over it, but that certainly isn’t a trait of his to ignore.

HE IS NOT ALWAYS IN THE CHURCH. I MADE SURE OF THAT WHEN I MADE MY BLOG.- He goes on walks, and he goes on errands. He also goes to the Gym on occasion, though not as often. He enjoys walks on the beach far earlier than anyone should be awake at. What I’m saying is running into him OUTSIDE of the church is possible. That being said, meeting him IN the church is your best bet for him warming up quicker. He feels safer in the church, and therefore usually wishes to stay there.

DOESN’T FIT THE STYLE OF CHARACTERS/WORLD? - If he doesn’t fit, then I can work to adapt him into something that WOULD fit. What characteristics about him doesn’t work. This is when I would need plotting help. If, lets say it was an all animal world, we can talk about what he is, his traits, and other such things. I am always happy to not use my icons- I just like to because I think they’re neat and I worked hard on them.

WHAT WOULD HE BE DOING?- Any number of things. He likes throwing pebbles at people. He mainly guards and protects Sarvente and her things, but I know we’re talking besides this. He cannot cook, but he does actually sew, and he does read quite a bit. Working on his fist to fist fighting would be a big one. He likes secluded areas, which especially work for explorer’s and people who walk off the beaten path.

IS THERE ANYWHERE HE COULDN’T BE?- He wouldn’t be at a bar. Ruv doesn’t drink, at all. I also don’t see him at any parties unless Sarv dragged him to them. Writing starters or plotting around those are perfectly fine, but do not expect his muse to be comfortable while he’s there.

HE SEEMS OVERPOWERED.- At times, he certainly can be, but only when he feels it’s necessary. He doesn’t flaunt his abilities, and most he has are out of self preservation. If you as a mun are worried about him and what he can do, the best thing you can do is read my information, look into his wiki, and then come and talk to me. Ruv isn’t someone who will 100% abuse what abilities he has, especially since now he is trying his best to be better for her since it makes her happy.

☾ ˚⊹  ❛❛  GENERAL IDEAS TO HAVE YOUR CHARACTERS IN HIS UNIVERSE

LOCATIONS?- The Church, the back alleys, the karaoke bar (that primarily does rap battles), the Alternate dimension that Sarv made so that he can be loud and not retrain his voice.

MOTIVATIONS?- If your muse is in the FNF world, then be ready for some sick beats to be dropped. Your muse could be rescuing someone from the BBEG and going through the slew of minions to sing against. There’s always the alternative side of this of “what the hell is going on?”

MY CHARACTER ISN’T FROM THERE, SO THEY WOULDN’T FIT IN.- Well I do have a “main” verse which replaces raps with fists. Looking for someone important to them, in the search of a deep and hidden artifact within the search, the rumors of a man born 100 years ago- theres a lot to be found in the library if you looked.

WHAT DOES THE FNF WORLD CONSIST OF?- It consists of Demon Daddies, Singing Skeletons and Pumpkins, Tankmen, a Demonic Lemon Demon, Sentient Video Game Characters, and if you take the mods in you also have Demon, Angels, Ghosts, Deadly Ex’s, Bomb Headed Men-- I promise your character will fit in at the end of the day.

ISN’T HE EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND HARD TO TALK TO?- He can be. He talks in very short sentences, however I do my best to give my reply enough that you can reply to. Actions, and I chose to be very descriptive with his expressions in this case. Ruv spend many years alone, and sometimes with him, actions speak louder than words. When you or your muse figure that out is up to you.

WELL WE CAN’T DO AN ENTIRE THREAD IN A CHURCH.- I never said we had to. He is more than happy to leave the church should he want, and should there be a reason. Usually, (despite what it seems) he does like helping people, so you can lure him out that way ;)

TBH I’m thinking Bushroot and Dora met by complete chance. Maybe Dora was, in the Ducktales verse, working as a researcher with Bulba - but not knowing the extent of his research ofc. but when the villains came, she hid. and would wound up getting pulled into the Darkwing verse along with the Fearsome four just before the machine was destroyed, but I don’t think anyone even knew she was there so like. nobody stopped to go “wait where’s Dora”

however, once in the Darkwing verse, Dora would find himself surrounded by villains ofc. and I imagine Bushroot initially mistook him for Rhoda, aka the scientist Bushroot crushed on in his debut episode, so he helped them out of the sticky situation of villains.

above is Rhoda - the glasses and dark hair are what confused him about Dora in bad lighting. Initially, Bushroot was disappointed to learn Dora was NOT Rhoda, but he was also surrpised that Dora was not afraid of him or thinking he was a monster - esp since he just helped them - and immediately became partial towards Dora bc of this kindness

A Christmas Miracle

this takes place in the ducktales universe me and @mallhit​ have been developing for the warners but it could also def be read from just a wakko’s wish adjacent verse. also it was supposed to be much sadder but I decided to give the kid a break. 

It was often that Yakko got a moment alone. 

Most days his energy was spent corralling two younger siblings, finished up with the strenuous task of attempting to get them into bed by a decent time. Most days, by the time he had gotten them asleep he was ready to collapse into bed right after them, and most days he didn’t try to stop himself. But that night he felt… restless. 

He made it to the area of their remade water tower that was sectioned off into their kitchen area. He moved the candle he had lit from the counter to the table and climbed up onto the counters. Despite being taller than both younger siblings combined, he still had to stretch onto his tippy toes to reach he small metal tine that sat pushed to the back of the shelf he was reaching for. 

He was quiet about making it back down to the floor, not wanting to wake his siblings, and took a seat at the table. 

He was already feeling discouraged by the weight of the tin, but it didn’t stop him from opening it and spilling the contents out on to the table. He counted it carefully once, twice and then a third time to make sure he wasn’t getting it wrong. At the confirmation of the sum of all the bills and change he let out a quiet sigh. His hands reached up to rub at his eyes, suddenly feeling that burst of tired he hadn’t just ten minutes prior. 

He leans his head down into his hands, his eyes squeezed shut just for a moment as he wracks his brain for something to do to make it work. He turns his head to the side and looks into the ‘family room,’ which wasn’t much more than a beat-up sofa and a shelf with the few books they had managed to scavenge. In the corner was a sparsely decorated fir tree and on the wall next to it hung a row of patched up stockings. 

He smiles briefly at the memory of bringing his siblings out to cut down a tree, the nicest tree they could find despite their lack of ornaments to decorate it. But the memory fades too quickly and instead he turns his head back to look at the money gathered in front of him. 

It wasn’t enough. No matter how many times he counted it, how many ways he dived it, it just wouldn’t be enough to give his siblings the Christmas they deserved.

The cupboards were empty, he knew this for a fact. There was a box of cereal with enough at the bottom for his siblings to have breakfast in the morning and then that was it. No matter what he wanted to do with the money he knew a large portion of it would be needed for food.

As for Christmas presents, well, that just seemed like a distant dream now. There was no way he’d be able to make the money swing far enough to properly feed his siblings and get them something nice to open that morning. Even if he went to the second hand store that was near the grocer he liked to go to he’d be scrounging up pennies just to pick something out for the both of them. 

Wakko’s sweater had been patched up more time than Yakko could count, and there was a sizable patch on Dot’s skirt that had once belonged to Yakko’s scarf. If he had just been able to get enough money to replace those maybe this Christmas would have been better. 

He let out one more sigh before he fathered the money back into the tin and left it sitting on the table. When his siblings woke up in the morning, he would set them up with breakfast and go get them some food, and maybe, by some miracle, he could throw together enough gifts to make it seem like Santa still cared about them.  

As he left the table he meant to go to bed, he’d have to wake up earlier than his siblings if he wanted to trick them into thinking he had eaten before they woke up, but his feet led him towards the door. 

He paused just long enough to throw his scarf around his neck before he stepped out into the cold December night. He was already rubbing his hands together, his breath coming out in small clouds in front of his face. 

He shut the door behind him and walked a little while away from the water tower, not far enough that it was out of sight, eventually coming to an old tyre and sitting down on it. He pulled his feet up, crossing his legs in front of him before his face turned up towards the sky. 

“What am I doing?” He asked allowed to the area around him before he let out another sigh. 

“Um.. hey.. uh, Santa..?” Yakko started speaking softly, his cheeks tinting a bit of a light pink as he spoke either from the cold or from what he was attempting to do or both and his eyes turned towards his hands folded in his lap. “I know that, um, traditionally speaking, you’re supposed to write a letter, but I figured Hey, if you know when we’re naughty and when we’re nice you’ve probably got some way to hear this, huh? And I can’t really afford the stamp..” He gave a small choked sounding laugh, before he looked back up. 

“Speakin’ of the naughty list, um, I- I know that I haven’t exactly been the best behaved, with the, uh, the lying and the stealing and all that, but I- I swear it’s been for a good reason! I just don’t know how else I’m supposed to- no, that’s not important... What’s important is that you need to stop, please. Please stop punishing them because I’ve been bad. It’s not fair. They haven’t done anything wrong; it’s just been me! I-” He can hear his own voice break as he speaks to thin air. Was this stupid? Did Santa even bother with kids on the naughty list when they had been on it as long as Yakko had? 

He curls in on himself a little more at the thought. It was still worth the try. “So, um, if you’re listening… please? Can you please do anything? They deserve something good. Anything good… And I can’t- I can’t do that for them. I’m not- I’m not enough, so please, just, I just need a little help. I promise, I’ll try to be good, I swear, just, just let them have something good this Christmas.”

Yakko stairs up at the stars, his eyes sad and a little foggy as he tried to hold back the tears. 

He didn’t know what he was waiting for, some sort of sign, some little hint that his begging did something, and some form of good luck was coming their way. But the longer he stared up at the sky the more he felt the hole that was starting to form in his last pair of gloves, and the more he felt it was entirely useless. 

He frowns, his eyes turning back to the ground as he reaches up to wipe at them.

“Yeah… I wouldn’t listen to me either..” 

Yakko got up from his seat on the old tyre, shoving his hands into his pockets as he started the trek back to the tower. He was about halfway back when he felt his toe collide with something and before he knew it his hands were hitting the ground, coming out just quick enough to keep his face from meeting the frozen ground. 

He let out a groan as he slowly raised himself on his knees, blinking his eyes open to see a scrap of fabric caught on a rock in front of him. It took him a moment to realize where it was from, looking at his hands to see an entire finger missing from his gloves. 

“Oh, come on.” He said out loud, turning to look at the affronting paint can with anger he was usually better at keeping deep down inside of him. Tears lined his eyes as his frustrations became too much and he grabbed the paint can, throwing it as far as he could. 

The loud crash that sounded because of his actions had him flattening back to the ground, his eyes wide as he waited for someone to show up to see what was making such a racket. But as he stared at the spot the can had landed with bated breath he watched as something fell out, landing on the ground with a small little thump.

His eyes narrowed as he zeroed in on it, waiting a minute and then another to make sure no one was coming over before he made his way across the lot. He kept low to the ground in case anyone showed up. 

His eyes recognized the object as he got closer, and once he was within reach of it, he picked up the small leather wallet with shaking hands. 

He didn’t think he was breathing as he opened up the pocket and pulled out a small bundle of twenty-dollar bills, his hands still shaking with the shock of his discovery. After a quick count he discovered that he was holding over a hundred dollars. 

He finally took a breath, and with his exhale came out a small, shaky laugh, though making the noise made him freeze again. He looked around himself like at any moment someone was going to jump out and accuse him of stealing. 

After a moment of nothing in the lot moving, he went back to picking through the wallet. There was a small amount of change in the bottom of it, and after a quick examination of the few credit cards in the card sleeves, he was excited to find that all of them were expired by a few years at the least. 

No one had been looking for this wallet for a long time. 

Yakko was quick to take the money and stuff it into his pockets before he took the wallet and stuffed it back into the paint can. He tucked it into a pile of dirt so that no one might come back across it before he made off in a sprint back towards the water tower. 

He couldn’t keep the smile off of his face as he got to the door of his home. He took one last look behind him, up towards the smile as he tried to keep his tears back. 

“Thank you.”

{ ☆ } At having his mistake pointed out, Felton’s feathers immediately ruffle. Face heating up slightly, fists clench tightly atop the desk as he averts his gaze with a barely-audible huff. Not wanting to meet Archie’s eyes— for fear of his embarrassment being noticed—pout glare is firmly off to the side, focusing on a far-off wall. Frankly, the confusion isn’t unwarranted. It’s not as if Felton is very vocal about his feelings toward others... Unless the comments are negative. Which the majority of the ones regarding ‘Fluffy’ normally are. Or used to be.

Lately, the feisty duck has been rather silent about his doppelganger. Despite the amount of time around him increasing. After an incident that left Felton wondering if he wasn’t giving the fluffy duck enough credit. Fenton is surprisingly intimidating when just the right buttons are pushed. And frighteningly adept at reading others, bringing to light what they're desperately trying to hide… or deny. Something Felton had the displeasure of experiencing firsthand. Unfortunately, when he was beginning to begrudgingly enjoy tolerate Fenton’s presence, the other pushed one of his buttons. Unintentionally, but still enough for past urges to resurface.

Fist clenches tighter along with his jaw, internal fire rising at the thought of what Fenton had dared to suggest. That IDIOT. Thinking he actually cares about- Thoughts are interrupted by Archie’s response, Felton noticeably perking with interest at the nickname Roro. Apparently, it is acceptable for him to refer to Gyro with it. Which makes sense. They’ve grown surprisingly close, considering their initial introduction. Marcus Mark also is permitted to. He hasn’t heard Fenton do so, but that’s likely the overly-cautious duck merely assuming he can’t. Marik… Odds are high that he can. God knows that Felton has yet to gain that privilege. Damn hard-to-win-over chicken, finding something worth loving in every-fucking-body except HIM.

Body tenses at the word pilot, face growing flushed— a scarlet blush overtaking it —and feathers fluffing shamefully as (incredibly) vivid memories assault his mind. ‘It doesn’t seem like your affection for him is purely physical.’ Heart stalls, a shiver running up his spine even as that blasted burning in his cheeks intensifies. Internally telling Fenton to shut the Hell up— much like he’d externally done not long ago —he awkwardly clears his throat, “Well, stabbing someone is a bit more extreme than merely giving them a black eye.” Tone is pointedly snarky, with an eye roll thrown in to try and divert attention from his flustered state.

Brows furrowed irritably— Felton shoving down the annoyance of hearing the name Marcus, yet another gesture of endearment acceptance importance that he’s barred from —he finally looks at Archie once more, meeting the chicken’s frown with a challenging one, “Well, that’s fucking obvious. Practically everyone adores that soft-hearted son of a...” Biting back the insult, lest M’Ma Cabrera bust through the wall and beat him within an inch of his life, a soft growl slips out as he bitterly mutters, “Ese gilipollas sonriente, amaba pedazo de mierda.” Not that he’s jealous. Why should he feel jealous or threatened by that- that...

He hadn’t thought Fenton and Archimedes were even that close. But it looks like his double is slowly-but-surely weaseling his way into the chicken’s heart too... How much longer until it becomes cramped? Until he loses his spot as Archie’s favorite Duckie and is tossed away for someone bet- “What I asked was, how upset would everyone be if I took initiative to ensure that he stops sticking his beak into matters that don’t concern him.” Like his newfound relationship arrangement with a Nega-jerk of a pilot... Speaking of which, Felton still has yet to divulge his newest ‘side-snack’ to his boyfriends partners lovers... to the others. { ☆ }
