TKC16 Experience

First thing’s first - TKC stands for Toronto KPOP Convention & 16 is just the year it was held in! haha. Pop! Goes the World is the event organizer/host of the event - huge shoutouts to the staff and members for making this happen as well! This post is long overdue (slightly more than a month after, but lol sorry I was busy :( ) *NOTE - This is going to be a very LONG post, so if you skip over it, it’s okay, it’s really just me expressing my emotions and how the experience went for me for my memory (although this is long overdue). This post will come in three parts, pre-weekend, during the weekend, & after. :)

PRE-WEEKEND

Before the weekend occurred, I registered as a Pop! Goes the World Member sometime late last year (November?), which earned perks such as early ticket purchasing with my friend Vanessa. At the time, the membership was $44 so I took the cheapest option as I knew that it would increase as time wore on or until they sold out of them (luckily we bought them in time because I swear it later became $66, then $88 - money bye bye). It was our first time ever experiencing this stuff and although we were friends in high school, we didn’t really talk about KPOP as much since groups barely came here. She learned that I was also a KPOP fan after high school, and although we both go to the same university, we’re in different campuses so we couldn’t really talk about it much either, but yay for texting cause that’s how we decided on going to TKC! As PGTW announced the first group in December - which turned out to be VIXX - we decided on going together since we both liked them. We chose to sit in the balcony because at the time both of us weren’t as well-funded. Since we both were PGTW members, about $44 was our discounted price? so we chose to sit at the front, in the balcony (Row FF, seats 28 [me] & 29 [Vanessa]).

I honestly had this weird feeling that GOT7 would come to Canada since they came for their USA fanmeets last year, and I promised my other friend Claire beforehand that if GOT7 ever came to Toronto we would go together and aim for front row because we had been non-stop fangirling about them every chance we got for a LONG time as they were our ultimate bias group, so I told Vanessa that if GOT7 came, would it be okay if she tagged along as well, and she was fine with it but asked where we would sit & I told her like at the front - unfortunately she had to turn that down because it was too expensive :(, however, during the summer, & around the time I talked to Vanessa about this, I found out that an acquaintance (AT THAT TIME) I knew, Kyra, also liked KPOP & GOT7 as much as Claire & I did! As I found out she liked KPOP more we became closer. I also told her that if GOT7 came that I would go with her as well, on the basis if my friend Claire could also come along, and everyone was okay with that! As PGTW kept giving hints as to who the second group was, we got more excited because it felt like it was GOT7. PGTW gave out their last few hints and kept retweeting things GOT7 related so we were freaking out more. When PGTW FINALLY announced who it was (I was at home during this time because school did not start until later for me) it was JB’s birthday and because of the news, I was SCREAMING at the top of my lungs I swear I was crying LOL. I sent a snapchat to my KPOP friends “EEE GOT7 IS COMING TO TORONTO!!!!!!” in the highest pitched voice ever so I’m sorry if you had to hear that! But I was just too excited I couldn’t contain it. When my brother arrived home from school he told me to shut up cause I wouldn’t stop jumping and screaming - sorry I’m annoying HAHA.

ANYWAYS, the membership ticket sales were set to be about a week from then, Thursday, January 14th at 7:00 PM. It was perfect cause that would be the last day of the school week as I got Mondays and Fridays off school & ended at 5 PM on Thursdays, so I would be home in time for the ticket sales. It would be me who had to purchase the tickets because I was the only member who had early access, and I was okay with that. As Thursday came about, ALL I could think about was getting home in time to buy tickets. I knew a LOT of people would be getting tickets on the 14th because those who weren’t members asked members to buy for them as well so STRESS. As school ended at 5 PM, I honestly rushed in going home & caught the bus as soon as I left. Mind you, it takes an hour commute to/from school plus rush hour so I was pressed for time. I got home at around 6 fortunately, and while I was on the bus I texted my brother to charge my Macbook for me just in case. I immediately went to the link that members were given & kept texting my friends Claire & Kyra, counting down to when ticket sales were happening. When 7:00 hit, YOU BEST BELIEVE I TRIED FOR ROW AA AT THE FRONT, BUT THE SEATS WERE ALL SELLING I SWEAR AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT I WAS LIKE WTF!!!!! So I tried for Row E seats (which were like 5th row) AND I GOT THEM!! So I made an iMessage group with Claire & Kyra saying “I GOT THE TICKETS ASASDSAJNFSJAN FIFTH ROW WE’RE ROW E WE GET TO HAVE A PICTURE WITH GOT7” & we were all freaking out like I kept calling Claire since she wasn’t responding & I left voicemails like “CLAIRE WHERE ARE YOU WE GOT TICKETS TO SEE THE BABIES” & then she finally replied in the group chat and we fangirled some more LMAO. Kyra’s & Claire’s birthdays were coming up so this was like a birthday present to them. We were so happy we then couldn’t stop talking about how we needed to look cute af for us to get noticed by GOT7. We really wanted JB, Jackson & Mark to notice us more as they were our biases (JB’s my bias, Jackson-Claire, & Mark-Kyra). We came up with scenarios like wearing bright red lipstick, having derp pics of them, to having a picture of JB’s cat Nora. My mum was teasing me all the more with my “love” for them & honestly said that her son-in-law was going to be Korean & said that when she would have to take a pic of her future grandchild she would be like, “apo (grandchild)!” in which my child would reply “Kimchi!” when taking a picture instead of saying “cheese!” Honestly, I found it unamusing and quite offensive at first but when I would mention it to my friends they would laugh so hard (-_-). Anyways we all started counting down the days we would see and meet GOT7 (from triple digits, to doubles, and FINALLY single digits). We honestly all wouldn’t stop talking about it and started freaking out whenever the thought was mentioned. We decided that since VIXX ticket holders had an all-weekend convention pass, Vanessa would come with us on the Sunday so that she could also experience the convention/first TKC experience with us, as Friday had no events besides the VIXX concert & preferred the Sunday events anyways.

In April, after GOT7′s Flight Log: Departure promos were done and they were practicing for their first Concert/Tour, I was honestly so sad to see the end of it because the era was their best so far (I mean their past eras I thought were great too, except probably SSI - poor Jackson they did him so wrong), but was even MORE sad when I found out JB was sent to the hospital just days before their first “Fly in Seoul”, in which he couldn’t perform due to his circumstances. I was crying not only since he would miss it, but because of his injury, he would most likely miss coming to Toronto because it was about three weeks from then, while his injury, to fully recuperate, would take at least 3 months. When it was their first day of the Fly in Seoul concert I sent JB a message on FANS (where I am a Silver IGOT7) to cheer up, take care, and take as much rest as he needed to (the gist of it, as I wrote more), and another message to the rest of the members to do well and have strength (in which I knew they would - and did) despite not having their leader there. As I was typing these, I was legitimately crying from the bottom of my heart. The babies did so well not just in their Fly in Seoul concerts (in which JB did visit for both days - CRIES MORE), but Fly in Shanghai/Japan as well while their leader was back at home resting. The more I thought about it, I was setting myself to think that JB wasn’t coming because cmon, 3 weeks break for an injury that takes at least 3 months to recuperate from? I found it unrealistic but was really happy when Jaebum (Jaebeom as he likes it spelled) showed up on their final shooting for GOT7ing on V APP. Whenever the rest of the members told us not to worry about JB for he was doing well, I was happy but was happier when JB himself told us in the V APP.

I was stressing on the matter that I was scheduled to work the Sunday I would see GOT7 but I got the issue sorted out as my manager accidentally scheduled me when I was literally the first person who booked the weekend off.

I was working when GOT7 was set to leave for TKC so I didn’t realize JB was also coming until I got home that evening (it was Thursday in Toronto). I remember seeing previews of the boys at the airport through Twitter & I was tearing up when I saw that there were JB previews & retweeted them & basically fangirled (like always) to Kyra & Claire LOL. I texted Vanessa also about the weekend & where and how we would meet up for VIXX & how excited we were that we would see them - while also experiencing our first time at TKC.

WEEKEND

Friday, May 20th, 2016

SO Friday the 20th FINALLY came along & I unfortunately did not have enough sleep (idk why but my body chooses to wake up early on days when I know something is happening on that day), I woke up at like, 6 am in the morning so I tried going back to sleep but to no avail. I was on social media to kill time before I should have actually done things. This was when I saw that VIXX flew in through updates on Twitter. I was SO upset when I found out fans were crowding around VIXX at the airport & even had the audacity to tug on Leo’s shirt :( they all looked super tired as well, & I knew they were performing that evening so I felt so bad for them. It’s something I cannot express on Twitter cause I know it will fall on empty ears (no fellow fans follow me on my personal Twitter, & I do not have a KPOP Twitter) but it should be common courtesy that people need their personal space. Yes, they are idols but they are people just like us too, & they can get hurt :(.

ANYWAYS, when I finished sulking about VIXX at the airport, I went on about my day, running some errands with my mum before meeting up with Vanessa at Kennedy stn at 4. I left my house at around 3 pm wearing aviator sunglasses, light wash ripped jeans, a very deep black v-neck with a white cardigan over, silver glittery flats, and just in case it was cold in the evening - my recently shrunken blanket scarf (SO UPSET THAT IT’S NOT THE SAME ANYMORE </3). It took us about an hour to get to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), so when we arrived, we took pics of the screen showing the TKC event outside, then made our way to registration. At registration the registrars(?) told us that we would not receive our posters until Saturday, or when we would come to pick them up since VIXX had not signed them yet so Vanessa & I were like “okay” but they marked our wristbands with “poster” just to let the other staff know we were valid for the signed posters that came with our tickets. I was surprised to see that not as many fans wore as much merch as I thought. Out of the hundreds of people I saw, probably only 50(? - maybe not even) wore something VIXX related, such as a group of girls wearing their Dynamite era outfits, some pins on people’s bags, girls wearing VIXX sweaters with their bias’ names on the back & the year they were born, etc. Vanessa & I were about an hour early before doors opened & fortunately Claire was on her way home & called me asking if I was already at MTCC. Vanessa & Claire met & Claire mentioned that she may have seen Terry (DAY6 Young K/Brian’s BFF & fellow Torontonian [well cause Brian is from Toronto anyways, SO PROUD]) & I was telling Claire she should have taken a pic just in case it was him & she was like “I don’t want a pic of a random stranger just in case it isn’t him” so I was like “-.-” but yeah eventually Claire had to catch her train to go home & said I would see her the next day since my mum works with her mum.

Doors opened up at 6 but everyone was stuck waiting outside for at least another hour since security did not open up doors until much later. We got our banners for the cake that was said to be brought out, & went to the fan table (idk what to name it lol I think there is a specific term but I forgot) to write some post-it notes for VIXX & if there were gifts/letters to give, it would be dropped off there. I wrote one post-it note in Hangul telling VIXX himnaeyo & hwaiting, also to thank them for coming to & to hopefully return. Vanessa & I finally entered the theatre & were very happy that although we were seated in the balcony, we had the perfect view since we were sat right in the middle. I was difficult, however, that it was hard on our eyes since the stage lights were hitting our direction. When the DJ was blasting the songs, it was so great how the fans would sing along to the music while we all waited for VIXX to come out. VIXX came out & we all started screaming our lungs out. They came out in light-up suits that we very fit on them. I was successful in taking pics & vids on my phone (we weren’t allowed to) but I think security was lenient with us people in the balcony since we weren’t on the floor, plus literally EVERYONE around me was taking pics & vids too so the security really did not care. I only got to take a few though, since I wanted to keep the concert more intimate in my mind than to have most of it on camera & not see for myself. Throughout the whole show, I would always admire each of the members for a specific thing they did (or did not do). From Leo’s high notes, Hongbin’s dashingly good looks, Ken’s “I’m sorry” & voice when he sang, Ravi’s deep voice & his rapping, Hyuk’s English & more notably, N’s “WHYYYYY?????” which came out during the Q&A session, then shortly before they performed their last song. Unfortunately, a cake was not brought out so we were confused & just brought out the banner during the last song. I was jumping up & down at this point & I swear N looked up at the balcony & I made eye contact with him so I definitely looked at him but idk if he specifically looked at me & waved or just in general to the fans in the balcony (I’m thinking I’m delulu for hoping that he waved at me while looking at me since I was waving back but LOL). But I was sad to know that after the song that was it, since the voiceovers told the audience that if we did not have the perks, to exit the theatre </3. At this point, my voice was strained & raspy, but when we came home my voice turned back to its original state (always happens, I have never lost my voice yet from concerts, well I mean I do, but it always comes back a while later). I was honestly sad to know that the concert ended, I felt like it went by so quickly too!! On the way home was it that I felt very tired from the concert. Luckily, my parents picked me up from Kennedy so I would not have to bus home. I got home at around 11 as I had to wait until 10:30 for my parents to pick me up. I offered to drop Vanessa home but she insisted that she was taking the TTC home so I made sure she texted me when she arrived home so I knew she was safe & she did around the same time I got home too.

Saturday, May 21st, 2016

I slept after I received Vanessa’s text message the night before but woke up at 6 am once again due to my excitement. I honestly wanted to see VIXX to wish them a goodbye & to also welcome DAY6 & GOT7 (GFRIEND too) at the airport, but no one else was down with me </3. I was so sad to hear that VIXX left early in the morning after just flying in the day before with no rest, then performing late & not getting enough rest once more to leave for Mexico the next morning. I kept on thinking how tired they were but nonetheless did a great job performing in Toronto. As news of GOT7 flying in came about on Twitter, I was getting excited that they were here. They made their exit at around 11 am here? & I saw videos when they came out through the doors. I was happy that they were FINALLY here, but to my surprise, however, just before DAY6 & GOT7 were going to their cars they were swarmed with fans surrounding them & I saw videos too where there was absolutely no personal space. I was upset that Toronto fans got a bad reputation once again, especially when one of the members has a back injury & is still in the process of healing! :@ nonetheless, I was glad for that one security who was right behind JB to support his back & that Brian returned home :’). Throughout the day, I dropped off/picked up my mum & stayed at Claire’s house for a bit to chill. Afterwards, my dad & I were supposed to go to the mall for me to buy a new phone but to my discontent, it couldn’t happen because my mum was stressing about money. I was truly upset that I cried in my room & even left the house with my dad because I didn’t want to be home. We went to my cousin’s house to watch the Raps vs. Cavs game but the Raps were slapped so badly & my ate knew I saw VIXX & was going to see GOT7 in which I found out she also liked JB the most (LMAO ayy same taste). I was still upset but wasn’t crying anymore, though my eyes were tremendously puffy so I knew I’d wake up with puffy eyes the next morning. While at my cousin’s, Claire, Kyra & I were discussing our outfits and such regarding our meeting the next day. Claire decided on a black dress with a jacket to go over once the night was finished with the new flats (THE SHOE) she bought while I was with her shopping for new stuff before she started work, and Kyra opted for one of the rompers she recently bought with sandals & a jacket to go over as well if she was cold. I had a few similar outfit ideas varying from my grey crop top with different bottoms, & a grey printed romper (if not purple, I like grey the most, but wear a lot of neutral colours like black/white/grey lol). Eventually, I opted for my grey long sleeved crop top with ripped jean shorts, along with silver flats & a green army jacket or black leggings to switch for later when it got cold. When we were all concluding fangirling over GOT7 in Toronto Day 1 (SO WILD) I finally went to sleep at around ½ AM & was super excited for the next day.

The day that was highly anticipated had FINALLY arrived!!! I woke up long before my alarm (I believe my alarm was set for like 7:30?) & woke up at 7:15 LOL. I showered & got myself ready before Claire would get to my house at 9. She got to my house at like, 9:45 when we were all expected to meet at Kennedy at 10 AM & while I was getting text messages from Kyra & Vanessa that they were already at Kennedy I was like “OMGGGG” & so we were cut for time & left my house at like 10:15 when it took like 20 mins to get to Kennedy. Claire forgot something at my house so I had to quickly drive back while she retrieved what she forgot. We left the house not long after & eventually got to Kennedy at precisely 10:35. With me being a perfectionist, I wanted to park my car under the light post but the light post was too big & would hit my car so I parked next to the space beside it. I was told by my dad to park where the camera would see so my car would not get hijacked (my car is a 97′ Honda CRV & older models can easily be broken into). With the allotted time, we got inside the station at 10:40 & met up. We all started talking about how excited we were for the day but couldn’t really talk when the rails were screeching cause we were like “whaaa?” & couldn’t hear. We finally got downtown & when we were walking Kyra was a bit clumsy so she thought she was gonna die of tripping over her sandals (poor bb LOL). But we got to the centre at around 11/almost 12? So we registered for the day while Vanessa & I inquired about our VIXX signed posters that came with our ticket. The staff said that Jellyfish wasn’t giving them the posters so we were like ???? & so they took our names & information to inform us about the posters later on. The convention was great, like we were in the event/exhibitors hall at the beginning to check out the vendors and such, and we got a free goodies bag as soon as we entered the hall. Vanessa, Claire & Kyra bought the Flight Log: Departure albums & we all went upstairs so they could open them & see which pairings/members they got as their PC. After realising it was like 12, we all went to the YouTubers panel in which we got a chance to meet & greet Terry He, Don Lee (a few of Brian’s [DAY6] best friends), and StillNotDavid/ David :). It was very fun since they played Mafia and this game where the three chose a partner & the partner has to sing/reply to the lyrics/song they sang. All three were quite sweet & I’m glad to have met them. Terry kindly asked us to cheer him on for when he was MCing for the groups later in the day (aw, he must have been so nervous, but nonetheless still did great!). The pics that we have on our phones are quite hilarious, though, as not everyone was ready in every picture/looking in different directions (Don had his hand on Vanessa’s arm when she thought it was Claire, so she also held onto Claire when Claire had her hand behind Vanessa’s back LOOL still so funny, basically in every pic Terry was a meme, & David was always camera ready). We all honestly also wanted to see DAY6 while they were here too, but unfortunately, we were all too broke to purchase them </3. The panel concluded slightly after 1 (we went overtime because it was so fun), so after taking a group pic in front of the TKC banner, we decided to get food because it was lunch time, so we went outside, first towards the underground cafe close to my mum’s old work (the CIBC building - right across the MTCC), where Claire bought a bento box, and then Vanessa, Kyra & I bought hotdogs by the stands in front of the Rogers Centre. We all found a set of chairs to chill in while we waited/wrote letters to GOT7/our biases. We each all bought something that day at least - Kyra, Claire & Vanessa bought Flight Log: Departure along with posters, and I just bought a poster because I already had all of the GOT7 merch (trash for real lmao). Claire really wanted to buy a Neko Atsume stuffed toy but even their small keychains were like $15 so she didn’t end up getting them </3. Kyra & I were going to get Minnie Mouse-like light up headbands so that we would hopefully stand out for when we saw GOT7 (they were $5) but didn’t end up getting them as well. Just throughout the day, if we were not in the lounge chairs, we would be at the exhibitors hall trying to decide what we wanted LOL. I wrote one letter to GOT7 (minus Jaebum), and another one specifically just for Jaebum. I took hours writing my letters because I had so much to say but didn’t know where to start for all the members. I felt stressed because I knew I should have written them beforehand but was short on time because I was always out/working. We all wanted to go to the “Teaching English in Korea” panel at 4 so I tried my best to finish at that time, but when it was around 3:45 I asked everyone if we were still going but we all just became too lazy to move/didn’t want to leave our spot ahaha. I ended up finishing my letters right at like 5, while Vanessa had to leave around 4 as she wasn’t seeing GOT7 with us & didn’t want to get caught in rush hour. When I finished my letters, Claire, Kyra & I went back to the exhibitors hall where we bought the posters, checked out the vendors & such again (LOL). I decided to buy two GOT7 posters because they were the only ones I was missing (”Got Love?” & “Identify” - didn’t want the debut ones lmao sorry not sorry). Originally the posters were $5 each, but the vendor gave me both for the price of one (THANK YOU KIND SIR!). I don’t know the name of the vendor as they didn’t have a label on them to identify who they were but if they were to sell again I would definitely buy! While circling around the hall for the umpteenth time, there was a bunch of people crowding around & taking pics with what seemed like a dance group so we decided to check it out. While we were outside of the crowd we were all guessing who the fuck were these people & why they were getting pics with others. When we were with the crowd, the vendors(?) were saying that the group was going to perform something, so we stayed to see what they would do. They were rappers who definitely had a stage presence as they jumped around whilst performing. The vendors were endorsing “New Breed” hats/merch so we were honestly doing our research as to what New Breed was. We later found out one of them was a guy named GMNI who was apparently on Show Me the Money. It was about 6 ish when we went back upstairs because we saw on Twitter that a group of girls were giving out PC’s of various groups. It was before we went up the escalator that masternims were handing out fans and banners, in which we got the Junior one. When we went upstairs, Kyra got a MAMAMOO PC since they’re her ult girl group, GOT7′s were sold out from the day before, but I believe she & Claire also got DAY6 PC’s as well. We kindly thanked them for giving them out for free & taking their time, & headed back downstairs as it was nearing 7. As the masternims were handing out the fans & such, it was a mess as everyone wanted to get their banners or fans of their bias before everything was gone. I only recall seeing Bam Bam, Jackson, Mark & Junior ones so I guess those were the only masternims that were handing out their things there? I got the Junior & Bam Bam fans, the Mark banner (the fans were given out as well but they were gone LITERALLY when I got to the beginning of the line so I just got a PC & sticker instead), & the Jackson banners were gone right when I got to the front as well :’( while I was waiting in line to get them, I was talking to a Jackson stan who kept my place in line while waiting for security as I tried to get the banners (bless her), but unfortunately the girl right before me took the last two so I couldn’t even get one (CRIES)! Claire didn’t get it either when Jackson was her bias I was so sad :’(. Security was supposed to open at around 7/7:30 which is why everyone was lined up against the wall (single file might I add -.-) but doors weren’t opened until literally 8 or slightly thereafter. After we passed security, we all got the GOT7 TKC banners which have a cute animated drawing of the members that says “GOT7, LET’S FLY!” while the other side had Bam Bam’s birthday banner on it for when his cake would be brought out. At the same booth we all also dropped off our letters & post-it notes. Upon entering the actual theatre & telling the staff we were in Row E (the doors led to Row H or so I believe?) & were fangirling how CLOSE we were to stage like literally we were so ecstatic (THEY THANKED ME FOR GETTING US THIS CLOSE DESPITE THE WAR!!). As everyone was getting to their places/seats in the theatre, GOT7 songs were blasting, & then when Confession Song was playing, the screen focused on the audiences, which showed all the ahgases. I caught myself about a handful of times (😂 ) I would try catching myself on video through my phone but it was unsuccessful. As all the ahgases were singing along to the songs that blasted throughout the whole theatre, you could definitely feel the atmosphere was not only cute, but seeing or hearing it through the members’ point of view, they must have been so touched, I mean, I was quite touched as everyone sang along, imagine the members.

It was about 8:30/8:40 when GOT7 came out, like the VCR of Fly was playing & the lights dimmed down so everyone was screaming their lungs out chanting “GOT7!” The VCR felt like 5 minutes(?) & I screamed throughout most of it, especially when I started seeing the members’ silhouettes & GGG started playing. There were issues during GGG such as the boys having to start the intro again in which Bam Bam was telling us to scream louder, & when Jackson’s part came out, the audio was shot but he still killed it. JB had his own chair at the side singing & I was just not believing my eyes that I was seeing them RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! Right after GGG was SSI then immediately If You Do. After If You Do, the members left the stage & the chairs were brought out, while Terry & the translator, Joon (?) introduced themselves & gave a little intro before the boys came back out. From my left to right, it was Youngjae, Yu Gyeom, Bam Bam, JB, Jackson, Junior, then Mark, & then Terry & Joon. When the boys sat down, Terry mentioned it was their first time here in Toronto & gave a shoutout to JB for making it all the way here & then Jackson then everyone started chanting “JB! JB! JB!” until he was too flustered & was like waving his hands in like a “no” motion then he started talking saying that he worked really hard to come since he really wanted to see us & come here (CRIES). Joon said that although the boys didn’t need an introduction, they should still introduce themselves, & so they did. Mark was first, & he stood up & was like “what’s up guys I’m Mark from GOT7″ then when he sat back down he did all these like hand gangsta movements like what Scarborough people do when they’re hyped (LOL idk if you understand?? But if you see in videos you’ll know what I mean), then Jinyoung was like “hi guys I’m Junior!” *insert cutesy smiley face here*, immediately after Jackson was like “hi everyone I’m Jackson from GOT7!” *bows down*. There was like a moment in between before JB was supposed to start - this man looks shook when he has to speak English- so he was like “uhhhhh……” then right when Jackson said “JB GOES LAST” he says, “ANNYEONGHASAEYO JB IBNIDA” *waves hand, smiles (!!!!!)* LIKE WTF DYING OUT HERE 😭 I literally waved back & said “annyeong!!!” but I doubt he noticed lol. So then after, Bam Bam introduces himself like, “what’s up guys, i’m your dab king, Bam Bam! *dabs*” like of course this mans gotta dab in Toronto (cries even more). Then YG was like “hello guys, Yu Gyeom” (SWEETIE PIE!!!) then YJ goes like, “WHAT’S UP TORONTO?!?! HELLO!! I’M YOUNGJAE!!” (SCREAMS), then when Jackson says “and finally!!” you see the disgust or distaste in Jaebum’s face (LOOL POOR BABY) before he goes “uhhhh” again & Mark yells, “WHAT’S YOUR NAME?!?!” then baby goes very shyly, “hi *waves*, JB *waves*” Please keep in mind I knew he would act like this but I kept screaming nonetheless & waved back even though I know he wouldn’t mind it lol. So then Terry & Joon asked how the boys felt about being in Toronto (in which Jackson complimented Joon on how good he was at Korean) & YJ said it was “SO HOT” & how he was so happy because of us (UGLY CRYING) while YG was like doing the swag version “feel so good right now” Bam Bam: “that’s it?” YG: “yeah *coughs*” so then Bam was saying how it was his first time here & how he felt like it was his place already (EXTERNALLY SCREAMING) then JB was OF COURSE, speaking in Korean (he refuses lmao), even when his fellow members & the audience were like “IN ENGLISH” lol my bias everyone, but he said how he liked the atmosphere & how it was even better in here (the theatre) (waow so suave). So then Jackson said how it was his 2nd time in Canada, how the hotel was good, room service was good & the best was IGOT7. He said how he ordered Mac N’ Cheese, even though it was cold when he got it, it was “STILL GOOD” & how he waited 2 hours (YO 2 HOURS FOR ROOM SERVICE?! I WOULD HAVE DEMANDED A REFUND) but nonetheless said it was “Just Right” (ayyy). Next up, Jinyoung said how he thought Canada was beautiful & explained to us that in the morning they went to Niagara Falls (GOOD PICK WHOEVER PLANNED IT) THEN HE SCREAMED SAYING HE LOVED CANADA :’( :’( & then Mark immediately asked who was there the day before then Jackson was like “who didn’t come yesterday?!” & Claire, Kyra & I raised our hands & I especially waved it but then Jackson told us the “exit is that way” (HOW DARE LMAO I WAS SPEECHLESS AND SAT BACK DOWN INTO KYRA’S SHOULDER LOOL). Mark immediately said yesterday’s show was crazy but we were even more crazier ;). Terry & Joon asked Bam Bam about finally being in Canada & the moose, (Bam posted a pic on his Twitter of a moose pic on his Mac & him dabbing with it) then A FAN RAN WITH HER STUFFED TOY MOOSE TO GIVE TO BAM BAM & HE WAS LIKE “THROW IT TO ME” & JACKSON PUT IT ON THE FLOOR AND BAM DABBED ON THE FLOOR WITH THE MOOSE (DREAM ACTUALLY CAME TRUE) then Terry & Joon asked a question about who among the members had the best fashion sense & knowing that they all chose JB the day before I said JB but then I also said Bam Bam too because I know he’s the fashionista LOL but Jinyoung was saying Jackson (my Jinson heart) then Jackson said because they picked JB yesterday Bam Bammie sulked when they got back into their rooms LMAO & Bam Bam was like “NOOOO” but then Jackson being Jackson said at first BB talked too much, then Terry (LMAO) & just pulled Yugyeom to the side of the stage to do the catwalk but then everyone including Jacks was saying Young Jae since he was like “YOU WANT JACKSON” then Jacks just pulled him to where YG was too & then Jacks was like massaging YG before doing his catwalk & pulling his jacket down halfway, then he catwalked, & THEN IMMEDIATELY DID A BODY WAVE AND DANCED AFTER MAH HART MAH SOLE THEN WHEN HE GOES BACK IT’S YJ BUT BABY DIDN’T EVEN GO HALFWAY BEFORE HE CRINGED TO THE GROUND & SAID “YOU GUYS WANT JACKSON, JACKSONNNN” IN WHICH HE ACTUALLY DID IT AND WAS SO EXTRA LMAO HE THREW HIS JACKET TO THE GROUND AND THEY ALL SAT BACK DOWN AND JINYOUNG SAID JACKS WON IT LMAO. So that was the end of the interview segment in which they all went back, then came back & performed “Fly” & “Home Run.” Terry & Joon came back to introduce GOT7 coming back to play interactive games with us, & all of them one by one coming out was making me scream even more & louder if possible LOL, the first game was a balloon popping game & I thought it would be with fans & I think it was Claire (or Kyra, or even me LOL idr) who was like “I wanna pop balloons with them!” while Terry was saying they could use any body part & then Jacks reiterated “ANY body part????” like WTF LMAO & then obvi people are gonna think dirty so then Bam & Jacks were like “what are you guys thinking?! UH UH UH” “WE DON’T DO THAT OKAY” (ya right LOL) but then when they were doing rock paper scissors we realized it was between them (lmao duh) then the pairs were maknae line (YugBam), 2Young & Markson (MAH HART). I was dying of laughter because 2Young were so quick, then Markson finished & all the while maknaes couldn’t even pop one so Markson just stepped on theirs & popped it LOL. “What was your strategy?” Jacks: “THERE WAS NO STRATEGY” Jinyoung: “we just stuck together” & then Jacks was making excuses like “YJ’s buttons on his jacket!” then Prince Jinyoung was like “Jackson we are not you” (OUCH </3 SAV) & then hugged him after & apologized. Terry explained & asked the members if they wanted to play more in which Mark was like “yes” & that GOT7 felt a little lonely up on stage so everyone went wild screaming, even more when Jackson was like “yeah he’s right we re lonely, COME UP HERE, EVERYONE UP HERE LET’S GO *waving us to come up on stage*” but then Terry said there was like a bucket that held papers for every seat in the house in which the members had to pick out of. I really hoped (like everyone else in the room) to get picked & I WAS ACTUALLY SO CLOSE WHEN BAM BAM CALLED E 27 WHEN I WAS LITERALLY E 29 AND I WAS SO UPSET LIKE I LITERALLY DROPPED MY HEAD TO KYRA’S SHOULDER :( as the boys all picked people to go up on stage, there were definitely more than 7 people on the sideline because they either: A) heard the seat number wrong or B) just got up in hopes that they were to go up on stage with the boys. The girls introduced themselves one by one, & I think the most prominent ones I remember were the girl sitting 2 seats away from me & an ahgase from France in which Jackson started speaking basic French to her & obvs beings Jacks he made it funny LOL, like saying “how are you?” “thank you” “yes”. Itt was around this time in which you could definitely hear the boys talking amongst themselves even when the intros & instructions were going on as fans in the crowd tried catching the members’ attention. I vividly remember trying to catch YuGyeom’s attention in which he said “I’m here *pointing down to the stage*” thinking that i did catch his attention but didn’t (LOL WHATEVES, STILL GONNA THINK IT IS) & also around this time Kyra was fixing the back of Claire’s dress in which Mark was drinking his water bottle looking at the fans (I was still looking at them at the time) BUT THEN MARK HAD HIS SIGHT IN OUR DIRECTION WHILE KYRA WAS DOING THIS SO SHE MISSED EYE CONTACT WITH HER BIAS. UNFORTUNATELY I know that there were people who were chosen by the boys but other girls got to go in their place instead which was so unfair because a girl who worked with Viki got to dance with Jinyoung & it was all messed up because Bam Bam picked the girl who was literally two seats beside me but got to dance with JB instead (she had a JB LED head band (?) so Bam Bam was quite sad that he even said “you’re a JB fan!” omfg I was so jealous cause when she introduced herself she said she met them in San Fran (GIRL PLS). The game they played was the pedometre game in which they had to shake this little device as much as they could within a small time frame. Jackson was up first, & coincidentally the girl he picked was the ahgase from France!! He called out to her, “Mademoiselle” & they started the countdown. THIS MAN WAS ON THE FLOOR USING HIS LEG TO INCREASE THE PEDOMETER, I WAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK JACKSON!!!! & he & the lucky fan were side-by-side in which he put his arm around her & they hopped together. Next was Jinyoungie with the Viki girl in which they DANCED TOGETHER (can’t lie, even though she wasn’t supposed to be there she was good, & you could tell she worked out lmao tbh). They tried so hard that Jinyoungie was tired out LOOL. Next was YoungJae, & everyone was cheering him on, he even tried cheering himself (THE SUNSHINE)!!! Next up was bb JB, they called out the number he picked but none of the girls were coming out so the one who sat two seats away from me took the chance (-.-) he even gave a dab to her!!!! (I’m highkey jealous) When the music started playing this man even started throwing punches like a boxer & was dancing & stuff LIKE HE WASN’T INJURED. I was saying “andwe! hajima!” so that he could try to understand but he’s stubborn (-.-) lol I was actually so upset & even Jackson was pointing it out!! I didn’t miss the part where he even had to hold his back due to what he did, but played it off as it was like nothing. After they played their part he even hugged her (so jelly lmao). Next, Mark had his turn with another girl & he was so cute putting the pedometer on his shoes & then being like the penguins in Happy Feet hahaha. Next, YuGyeom DANCED with his girl, & I mean THIS KID literally danced around her that had EVERYONE SWOONING LMAO 19+. Lastly, BAM BAM PUT HIS PEDOMETER ON HIS BELT OR SOMEWHERE ON HIS WAIST SO IT WAS MORE LIKE HIP THRUSTS AND SHIT FROM THIS MAN LIKE RATED R WHICH HAD EVERYONE WILDT but then I think he moved it to his hands & started dabbing & doing wild things LOOL. Eventually, the winner was Mark’s team & the fan got a signed Flight Log album I believe. So as the games concluded, the boys said that they were almost done/leaving soon & everyone was like “AWWW :’(” & doing their final ments. The members, one by one said their ments but I vividly remember Mark saying that they would return to Toronto soon in which he made a pinky promise to & with us to keep it (STILL HOLDING ONTO THAT PROMISE MARKIEPOO) When they sang Confession Song I was hoping to hear Mark’s “ottdae?” but he screamed “TORONTO MAKE SOME NOISE!” & with the video I recorded, I literally sound like a dying whale singing along with them “AHHHHH-IIIIIII LOVE YOOOOOOU” & I was honestly in my emotions that time because I was sad they were almost finishing up the evening. Immediately after Confession Song, was Just Right & all the babies were so cute especially when Mark went to Jaebum & his chair during Jackson’s rap (he changed it to make us dougie, nae-nae & say GOT7, as expected LOL) & during Bam Bam’s rap, Mark hyped Jaebum up by letting him rap into Mark’s mic (MARKBUMMMM). When Just Right ended, they all went off stage which made people thinkin that was the end, but then we heard Jackson & Mark scream into their mics, “are you ready?!” let’s go!” in which the A Remix played & everyone was jumping like it was a party. Once it did end that was the conclusion of the fanmeet though, as Terry & Joon politely asked the balcony or people that did not have the extra perks to leave the auditorium as the fan engagements were going to start.

Hi-touch were the ones to go first, & this was already at around 10:30 & Kyra’s parents were already at MTCC to pick her up but we didn’t evn meet the boys yet. The boys eventually walked out one by one (BB, MK, JB, JY, YG, YJ, JS) & watching hi-touch I thought it was slow but actually was pretty fast (managers & security were pushing fans to hurry up), one fan even hugged Jackson BY SURPRISE, even though they specifically told people otherwise (hi-touch not hand-grab - lol smh) so I felt bad that it went by so quickly, but then photo-op started after staff took out the table & set out 8 chairs (the boys would stand behind the chairs & there would be 8 fans sitting down on the floor). We were in the fifth row so we would be one of the last ones, & I was hoping to be on the chairs at least, but then before we stood up the girl sitting next to me (a Jackson stan) asked me if we could switch places once we got up on stage just in case we sat on the chairs since she wanted to be in front of Jackson, which worked out for me since I would sit in front of Jaebeom, so I agreed, HOWEVER, when it came down to it, she & her friend (that already met them beforehand & was paired with JB on stage that night) let us pass through so they could have seats since they found out they would be on the floor if they chose to stay in their places. In my mind, I was like WTF so I was pissed & even more pissed because they damn security would tell us “WALK FASTER” “NO SPACE IN BETWEEN WALKING” like WTF LEAVE ME ALONE I’M WALKING AT MY PACE I’M NOT DOING SHIT TO YOU! I wanted to at least tell Terry he did a good job but I couldn’t even when security was pushing as all to hurry up! I was so upset & not only that because I was on the floor. Like Kyra & Claire were even more upset because they were wearing dresses/rompers that would ride up. I sat down & smiled even though I was sad inside & the photo op went by so quick (I, however, managed to transition from :D to :) fine but you could tell Kyra had struggles because there was an extra girl sitting on the chair with her friend & had to move since the girl beside her was moving too). I immediately went up & in my line of vision I saw YG, JY & YJ L-R. even though I didn’t get to catch a glimpse of the other half of the members, even when I saw them they were so clear & SO CLOSE but I dared not to step too close because security would block me & other fans wanted to talk to them too. I talked mostly to Yu Gyeom in which I said, “Thank you so much for coming I hope to see you soon!” & he smiled so brightly saying thank you too & thanks for coming. Yu Gyeom made his way UP in my messed up list & he’s literally so sweet & charming :’(. I could only say that much & leave because security was being an ass & telling us to move on :( </3. I didn’t even get to see or talk to the rest.

As we walked out of the auditorium, I literally jumped because we met them & was fangirling with Claire & Kyra about it up until we had to get our wristbands cut. We had the option to either throw or keep it, & me being the hoarder & keeping for memorabilia, I kept it. I snapchatted, “we just met GOT7, how do you feel?” towards Claire & Kyra & Claire said that was the shortest thing ever & we honestly said fuck security :( lol. Once we went up the escalators, we saw Kyra’s parents, in which Kyra had to leave, so we said our farewells for the evening & Claire & i went to the washroom to change since it was colder in the evening. Originally wearing shorts, I just changed the bottoms to leggings & wore my green varsity jacket, & Claire just threw on sweat on top of her dress. We decided to wait for GOT7 in order to say bye to them. This was the crappiest hour ever because we waited for so long in order to not even see them, to say bye. Security fucking fooled us by creating a diversion by grouping together & running towards another exit but when they ran that way, it was obvious because they started laughing (what kind of shit stunt is this?!). Another one was one of the GOT7 managers? Security? Whatever you call him, told us “do you want to see GOT7 or not? Move back” since the trucks & stuff to apparently pick the boys up in, were there. In the inside, security made us make space for the boys to walk in to get to the said “exit”. Whenever you heard screams, fans would follow & so people would run that way & Claire told me she was on one side when fans were running towards the direction she was in & she honestly thought she was going to get run over by them. Another one was that the trucks were going around the area to think about picking the boys up when in truth, they had already left. I honestly didn’t want to harm or do anything to the boys, just say goodbye quietly (WHICH IS WHAT EVENTUALLY HAPPENED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VENUE, ONLY SOME FANS GOT TO SAY GOODBYE AS I WATCHED A VIDEO ON TWITTER THE NEXT DAY). I honestly really wanted to just say bye but I knew since there was a lot of people waiting where we waited, it would cause a problem if they did exit where we were, like I mean I understand, but I would like to think Claire & I were the fans who cared more about their safety & just wants to see them from afar & not bother them & be all up in their face :( . It was just disappointment after disappointment. When we decided to leave because of our disappointment & thinking they already had gone back to the hotel, we were talking to fellow ahgases asking where they sat, how they found the FM, etc., & decided to take a train with a group so things wouldn’t happen. The most prominent girl we met was a Filipino girl named Nathalia, who just graduated high school, however, the group of friends she was also with, & who we also rode the subway with, were niners (grade 9) & I was honestly so shocked because they were younger than us. Eventually, we had to part ways with them but said it was nice meeting them. Once reuniting with my car back in Kennedy, on the drive home, it gave Claire & I time to talk more about what happened & our disappointment with & at TKC for how everything went. Our disappointment was mostly with the photo op & what happened afterwards & we just kept sulking about it all the way back to my house. Since Claire slept over, we posted & rewatched the videos & pics we took & I literally sobbed thinking about it. Seeing & meeting them was so surreal, but the events surrounding that were sad.

AFTER

It was a long weekend after TKC so we didn’t need to worry about work & such after going home past 1 AM, still sulking.

After a while, I was concerned about my signed VIXX poster since Vanessa & I hadn’t heard any news about it, so I emailed them once they tweeted about people missing their perks & prizes to pick it up on a specific date at a location.

My email in return stated that the VIXX posters were the only ones that were all gone, which i don’t believe for a second tbh since one of the staff at TKC said that they hadn’t received the posters since Jellyfish Ent. wasn’t giving it to them & if there were going to be signed posters, wouldn’t there be enough so that the ones who paid for them, get it? So Vanessa & I were pissed, but Vanessa went & got the unsigned posters for us regardless since I was unable to due to work.

I was still sad from the weekend experiencing Post-Concert Depression & even now after FLY tour had concluded & after 3 months, I am still reminiscing. We will see them another time & hope for a better experience, but shall still experience PCD until then (even so, more PCD :’( ). For now, VIXX & GOT7 FIGHTING!!! luv u!!!
