WIP Wednesday

I was tagged by @westealtoys thank you 💕 Currently, there is no unfinished fallen hero story. 🤔 I am going to change that soon.

BUT - The WOTR folder is full of stuff that is almost finished. So here is a small snippet of Tishlia and Daeran's life. It was supposed to be at the end of Belonging, but now it will be in the next chapter of the Act 5 series. ---- As they dressed, Daeran thought about everything he had learned in the last few hours. " Are we all supposed to call you Karrea now?"

At the sound of that name, Tishlia had to laugh, "Hell, no, I actually only hear that name in formal salutations. So I've always been called Tishlia, though mostly Lia."

She could literally see his thoughts as he stared off into nothingness while trying to close his shirt, which he had buttoned wrong. 

She approached him, corrected his mistake, closed the last button on the collar and looked him in the eyes.

"No one is the answer to your question. No one but you has ever called me Tisha."

She gave him a brief kiss. "And if I can choose, it can stay that way forever. I love how it sounds when you say it."

"My Ti - sha?" he asked tenderly.

"Yours alone."

"You know I will never let such an exclusive right be taken away from me again?"

"I would never expect you to. I'm very curious to see who will try to challenge you for the first time," she replied mischievously.

"Don't you have any pity at all for the poor fool?"

"No, not the slightest. I think I will have a lot of fun with our agreement."

"As I will with you." Happy with his newfound privilege, Daeran pulled his Tisha into a final deep kiss before they left to deliver some unexpected information to their friends and advisors. ----- Wednesday is already over for me, so I'm tagging @dujour13 and @commander-lariel (if you like) for the next Wednesday that's coming up for you.🙃

Tomorrow, my school's Jewish community is having a small memorial service for October 7th. It's a day early, because we're busy people and we all just missed classes for Rosh Hashanah. It's not an official gathering - only the Jewish students have been told, and the Rabbi told us not to spread around that it's happening.

It got me thinking. Because I know I'll commemorate the anniversary this year. Probably next year, too. And the year after that. I suppose we'll just keep going. In 100, 200, 300 years we'll still be remembering.

What will we call it? Yom October 7th? I think that sounds stupid. But it'll get a name.

Eventually, there will be traditions. Perhaps similar ones to Tisha B'av. Will October 7th become the saddest day of the Jewish calendar? My guess is no. But it will be the freshest sad day - at least until the next tragedy.

Will we celebrate on October 7th, or on 23rd Tishrei? Will October 7th be a separate holiday from Simchat Torah, or will here on out Simchat Torah always have an undercurrent of sadness? I don't know.

I remember October 7th, 2023, like it was yesterday. Actually, I don't really know what I did yesterday. But I remember October 7th so clearly. I remember saying that Israel's wars were usually short - the 6 Day War, the Yom Kippur war. This one would be a month - at most. How wrong I was.

I'm a different person now than the person I was on October 6th. It's bittersweet. I'm less trusting of goyim. I've compromised a bit on my values more when it comes to consuming media. I care more about my people than I did before. I know a lot more about Jewish history. I'm willing to argue with someone about I/P - but I don't want to. I don't think I would go back to the person I was on October 6th. But I hope this is over soon.

Rodger and Glisten

I’ve been playing Rodger recently to get Main research but I prefer Glisten a lot more, and I find his extraction dialogue a lil amusing considering Glisten’s better at extracting than him. Also I feel like they’re both just as competitive as each other, but Glisten just shows it more.

Would higher extraction speed mean Glisten is smarter or stronger than Rodger? He’s not the best at skill checks and I’d never use the magnifying glass and award combo for him but he can turn the wheel on the machine better than everyone else except Vee.

Also omg if anyone with good luck wants to do a main hunt lemme know, I haven’t found a main at all in 2 days, and I have 43% Shelly research I really want herrr

Any of the mains really but Shelly’s cute and I think she’s super useful with her abilities, skill check stat and trinket. Then I want Sprout and Pebble after.

Also, rant time despite not actually being mad or annoyed or anything, actually it’s kinda funny:

Why does everyone just drop like flies on the first floor. Like, god damn, a full lobby of 8 people and it drops to 2 or 3. It won’t even be filled with noobs either, like, they’d all have toons that require them have experience at the game, like Gigi, Teagan and Goob, but chaos ensues. Like, all of a sudden, nobody can hide, everyone’s being chased and I’m just there watching and hearing everyone die and just like that, either I’m completely on my own or with 2-3 other people. Having only 1 or 2 people die on the first floor is so rare for me for no reason.

I also had another Rodger call us all stupid idiots for ‘not planning a run better’ because the distractor died floor 2 and they died at the very start of floor 3 and had 1 heart.

Which, first of all, we can’t plan a run with a) not knowing people’s specific skills since they’re all strangers, just their toons, and b) everyone fighting to get to an elevator, meaning the toons we like might not even get in because a noob or a toon we just like less gets in.

And, second of all, if you NEED a distractor to survive floor 3, play some solo games or a normal run, not one that is meant to be long, cause clearly you need to work on some things. If it were just mistakes or bad luck (which happen a lot to me) that’d be perfectly fine, but not relying on a distractor to exist just to survive and completely dropping your guard just because there’s a distractor. Get some skills at that rate.

Also, distractors, I love you so so so much and appreciate all you do, but please sprint a lil sometimes, every time I see the twisteds running so close to the distractor I get scared of them turning at some points, accidentally running into something or someone, or Panic Mode happening, because those catch a lot of people out, including me when I’ve played distractor Tisha and Razzle (yes, with both the plush and shoes, you’d never catch me playing distractor without both of those), and every time, I see those same distractors that don’t run every now and then for a lil more distance get hit.

Jews are indigenous to Israel. Period.

Today is a good day to remind the Islamists and their supporters that Jews are from Judea (Israel) and the Islamists are the invaders and occupiers, not the other way around.

In 70 CE, Romans destroyed the Jewish temple and attempted to banish the Jews from Jerusalem. Simply because the Jews would not go silently into the night, dared fight back, and attempted to thwart the most technologically advanced army the world knew at that time.

We Jews commemorate this Roman invasion and colonization, by observing the Tisha B'Av annual fast.

This proof of Jewish indigeneity is literally carved in archaeological artifacts and in this case, carved in stone, depicted the Frieze on the Arch of Titus in Rome. This arch depicts Roman soldiers carrying the relics and loot, stolen from the Jewish temple. Look at the Menorah. Jews still use the same candlesticks and symbols.

So what is "Palestine"? Roman Emperor Hadrian renamed the land (Judea) to "Palestine", to attempt erasure of any connection with the Jews.
