Alright, let's face the facts:

Wii Fit:

built the whole game around BMI, a complicated concept that since its conception's been pretty horribly misunderstood, and posture which, while important is nowhere near the cornerstone of health

Does not have an actual game, as much as a collection of exercises that help you through it as much as a youtube tutorial would help you, and dull minigames that don't actually work your body

Has one difficulty, which is alienating to both people new to fitness, and fitness enthusiasts who find it too easy

involves a heavy, bulky board that constantly runs out of juice, and you're prone to stub your toes on it, and it serves no out-of-game function besides being a scale.

the trainers are ambivalent at best, and outright cold to you at worst.

no customization outside of the miis

lost relevance within a month of release

Ring Fit Adventure:

The entire game centralizes around actual exercises and fitness tips that are written into the very story itself.

Game-ifies real exercises and workouts into challenging yet rewarding gameplay that really makes you feel like you're the controller

has dynamic difficulty settings that change how long you hold exercises and how many reps you have to do, which you can adjust to your desired settings whenever

comes with a resistance ring as a controller, which outside of gameplay, functions as a very effective tool for exercise, and even tracks progress made with it when you're not playing

Ring and Tipp are your best friends who care about you and encourage your progress. Dragaux, and the Four Masters are very effective rivals who make you want to give it your all (and are really frigging hot to boot).

INCREDIBLY LONG story mode with a great cast of characters, silly but enriching plot, tons of side quests and minigames, loads of collectibles, and more

Very tangible progress as the levels and enemies become more difficult, yet your attacks' power, as well as your own physical strength increase at a pace to match

a metric fuckton of costumes to customize your player character

still relevant in streaming and fitness communities today, a solid 2 years after its release

The player character from Ring Fit Adventure should take Wii Fit Trainer's place in the next smash game.
