She Wants to Go Outside🥹

Honey Bunches has been settling in pretty well. She's gotten more curious around the house, as in she's willing to investigate things when I'm around and not in the middle of the night when I sleep.

Earlier today, I caught her staring out the window. At first, I thought a bird or something in the trees had caught her attention. But she slapped the wall. She's learned that, because she does not honk, she can clap or hit things to get my attention.

She pointed out the window. I didn't see anything of note. I took a picture (because cute baby) and figured I'd ask if she wanted to go out? I wasn't expecting much of a response. She still kinda keeps to herself.

It was faint... but! But she honked! My guess is she was so excited to go outside that she vocalized it. She truly is baby to die for.

I'll start posting more pictures of her playing outside next time!

OK so snyder had caught finch when he was 5 kid living on the street hungry and wanting love snyder laughs at the memory finch had broken so quickly and held fear in his eyes for snyder ever since. Yesterday, I was off to the zoo to get some lion photos for an upcoming post. I checked my phone when I stopped to get gas and saw a new baby announcement: Woodland Park has a new baby pudu! He's as-of-yet-unnamed and about a month old.

Pudu, if you're not familiar with the species, are the smallest species of deer in the world. They're found in a very limited range in South America.

Needless to say, I took a very cursory turn past the lions, and then spent a couple hours camped out at the pudu habitat waiting for the fawn to venture out of his hiding spot.

It was worth it.

I knew pudu were small, but still. The adult in the habitat (not sure if mom or dad) was comparable in height and length to an average medium-sized dog. This guy, at a month old? He's the size of a large chihuahua.
