I’ve been wanting to reopen commissions soon but I rly need to make new examples, maybe try to figure out what ppl are most interested in (I think my most commissioned items are always icons, so? Those will be included) and what I can do…I also want to refigure my prices. Like I do want them to be affordable, and I do love drawing for ppl, but I also want to make sure I have the bandwidth + time for them and also feel like I’m being compensated properly since I do have a job now so they would be the Side Thing aaa TwT

but I’m finally at a place where I feel like. Not burnt out after every week and I’m in a nice routine now and pretty used to my job, so I feel like I can handle more on the side. Very excited abt that. Not excited abt making new examples or figuring out what I wanna offer etc tho I hate the logistics of commissions. Part of me wants to do a pay what u want thing with a set minimum and maybe start exclusively offering them thru kofi since it’s so easy, but we’ll see!!

I look to maybe open them around June so like. If anyone is interested, I’d love to hear what kind of stuff u guys would want? 🤨

I'd personally like to think that Henry has bird-themed nicknames for his grandkids, despite Sparrow not following the whole bird name convention. In my mind, Henry calls Normal "penguin" or "pingüino" bc I distantly recall Will mentioning that Normal had a little bit of a waddle as a little kid 🥺 (also it is a little bit ironic since Norm absolutely cannot swim lmao). Hero gets "kiwi" or "kiwi-bird" for no real discernible reason other than the fact that I think it's cute. Also, both kiwis and penguins are flightless birds, so there's that! I'd also like to think that he'd come up with one for Dot, but this is where my creativity runs out, I'm afraid 😅

When the kids were younger Lark tried to teach them basic hand-to-hand self defense! He managed to convince Sparrow to let him do it, since knowing self defense is generally pretty useful to know even outside of apocalyptic situations.

Hero took to the lessons very easily, she’s always been the more hot tempered one of the siblings. I like to think Hero inherited the full wrath of the Oak Family Anger, so learning how to safely take out that anger through physical activity was good for her. Eventually though she switches her coping mechanism to games and anime, and her lessons with Lark trickle to a stop.

Normal was… the complete opposite LMAO he hated the idea of fighting and hitting his family, even if it was just for practice. He outright REFUSED to do it but would sometimes sit in the backyard and watch Hero’s lessons. That also meant he would regularly burst into tears if one of them hit the other too hard.

Eventually instead of learning hand-to-hand, Normal actually takes a shining to first aid! It started out with him insisting on giving Hero and Lark kids character bandaids after every lesson they had.

Later, Lark comes home late at night from a secret daddies mission he didn’t tell anyone about, and Normal just so happened to be awake at the time. It turns into a little impromptu first aid lesson from Lark to Normal, since he insisted on staying and making his uncle feel all better again.

Lark keeps occasionally giving Normal those first aid lessons throughout the years after that! He would never say it out loud, but it gives him a little peace of mind to know that his niece and nephew are able to take protect and take care of each other if they ever needed to.

Had to help my mom put two teeny tiny baby birds back into their nest earlier this morning. There are multiple factors that have us concerned, such as arranging the nest in the position it was found (it was built underneath something, so it’s hard to remember what exactly it looked like when she uncovered it), as well as wondering if that was indeed the right nest (according to her, there were at least three more babies inside the nest, and she said that they looked the same), and hoping that the mom can actually get back into the nest, and that nothing else can (again due to the issues with positioning; also there’s the mystery of how the babies wound up on the floor of the garage comparatively so far away when it was in such a tight position in the first place).

look at this!!! in the shadow boxers comic you can see Archimedes with a lil neck brace thing and i didnt notice till now????!?!? this is so adorable and so goofy. like 1. this implies that medic brings him everywhere, including dangerous places, which i guess wasnt that surprising but anyways. and 2. this shows how much archimedes loves medic (and vise versa) like in meet the medic all the other doves fly away when all the commotion happen but not Archimedes!!! he lives for danger!!! and trusts medic to make sure he stays alive <3 also medic def had to make that tiny little neck brace by hand for archimedes' tiny lil bird neck lol
