Elves typically have very flow-y name with lots of sounds like Th, El, Na, Fen, etc. So I’m just saying Fentanyl is perfectly valid elf name for your next character.
went to a tyr show tonight and i feel oddly like it reset my brain. like the good, hard reset where you straighten a paperclip and stick the end in the little hole.
Pick up an instrument you can’t play, or play one you can in a different way. One of David Kosten’s favourite approaches is that if something sounds too ordinary and lacking in character, the instruction will come over the headphones to ‘Try to play it worse’. Professionalism is sometimes the most boring thing of all and you need to relocate the amateur in you. I like to remind myself that the word amateur, so often used as an insult, actually comes from the Latin ‘amare’, to love. So being an amateur means you’re doing something simply because you love doing it.
#ThrowbackThursday *pheeeep!* A set of three toy tin whistles from 1930s Japan depicting our Buster Keaton plus Charlie Chaplin & Harold Lloyd. Buster doesn’t seem too happy about potential whistleblowers…
Hey, anyone who can read sheet music, I need your help. I’m trying to play the Duke of Cornwall’s Reel on my whistle however the only sheet music is well. Proper sheet music and I can only read tabs because I suck. It’s like the ONE song I’ve never been able to find tabs for, so if anyone could help, it would be much appreciated
I've been practicing a tune lately called The Redhaired Boy. This is on my Feadóg D tin whistle! It's also known as The Little Beggarman or, as I learned from the guitarist at a local trad session, the original Irish name was An Giolla Ruadh before it was anglicized to Gilderoy. It's a fun tune! I'm certainly not perfect--this was the best recording I could get before my fingers (and lungs) gave up--but I do want to use this blog to record my progress more so I don't need it to be perfect yet.
on track to get E-Fund and fun-fund savings back in track once we finish the move this month.... But perhaps I'll treat myself to nice simple earrings I've been eyeinf
My new asthma specialist said my lungs sound pretty clear rn actually, and my habit of getting dizzy and tunnel vision whenever breathing deeply is more likely my lungs just needing to be retrained after years of shallow breathing. Doing things like whatever yoga breathing is or playing a recorder or something.
So uh. I found a thirteen dollar brass tin whistle in D. so uh. Sorry neighbors
tin whistle is sooo fun to play except it's so loud and so annoying to everyone around me and also you would not believe how much spit and sweat i can produce when i'm holding the thing
