Yup! There's a multitude of reasons why Peri struggles so much, but they all lie in his origins. Peri was born from a wish! And Wishes, well. They're not meant to last long. Most wishes become unstable as the years go by, but Peri's persisted because he's an entire living being!

CosWan initially feared Peri wouldn't grow up properly, but he turned out nearly as fine as any other Fairy would! Probably!!

Growing up on Earth, being related to the VonStrangles, born from a 10 year old's wish, living past the lifespan of wishes, beyond that of humans... Each part is rather small, but when added together, it culminates into a very... very unstable baby.

I think it's really important for any yellowjackets fan that was not alive in the 90s to know how accurate that ice cream shop commercial was. Commercials back then were fucking terrifying. So were some of the toys and tv shows. Tai being haunted by creepy ass 90s character is so real. That is the most brilliant way to tie in the no eyed man and I can't wait to see what they do with it. It really adds to the supernatural vs psychological debate. I love how everything can be either or. Him being in the dreams/hallucination definitely feels supernatural! Aaaand it's also not far off that multiple girls saw that commercial as kids, it scarred them, and it stayed in their subconscious. It's just such good writing I love it.

That is one of the most realistic things so far. Every friend I know that is my age has at least one sworn enemy from the 90s that's haunted them to this day. Many of us have the same nightmare! Here's a few examples:

Stupid episode idea where RIGHT after Timmy gets his memories back and reunites with Cosmo & Wanda (but not Peri), he and Dev get stranded together in Fairy World. Dev wants to get back to his fairy rather than hang around this stranger, and Timmy wants to meet up with his brother, but the thing is...

Dev keeps talking about getting back to "Peri". Timmy keeps talking about reuniting with "Poof". Neither of them realize that they're talking about the same person, and both keep trying to INSIST that their Person is more important to find first, and they can meet the other afterward.

Upon Peri finding out about this, he just. stares. You can see the years subtracting from his immortal life. Sigh.

#timmy's argument is that Hey that's my long lost brother i just really want to spend time with him #before they get the chance to make me forget again #and Dev's argument is. Fuck You i don't care you're boring lets find Peri first #he doesn't actually care that much he just wants to be argumentative #Timmy meanwhile WANTS to not care right now but he's really worried that he's under a time limit #like normally he wouldn't bother arguing with a 10 yr old as a 30+ year old man but it's a bit dicey rn #also yes Dev learns Peri's original name when he introduces himself but idk if he'd bother to remember that LMAO #fop #fairly oddparents #timmy turner #dev dimmadome #fop timmy #fop dev

In a cuddle pile.

Cuddle pile!!! Once, Peri brought home a stray Furby. It brought the entire house into chaos as the Furby went feral on them. It took sacrificing Cosmo to it for the Furby to calm down.

It spat him out eventually, but the house was a wreck afterwords. Wanda refused to let Timmy or Peri keep it as a pet, thinking (rightly) that they're not ready for one. Cupid took the Furby off their hands afterwords.
