Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann (1982)
My rating: 3/10
Rarely have I seen a protagonist so utterly witless, gutless, gormless, and a long list of other adjectives ending in -less and pertaining to his complete lack of qualities one might want in a leading man, up to and including pointless. I mean, shit. This guy makes the Time Chasers dude look like fucking Ash Williams.

Produced by Michael Nesmith formerly of The Monkees, Timerider is a not bad little sci-fi western starring Fred Ward. It's kooky and very 80s of an idea but works itself into a nice flick.

5 Safety Laws You Won’t Believe Don’t Exist
We rely on the government for all the essential situations needed to keep a number of countries flowing: our security, infrastructure facilities, our economy, and a merriment little cartwheeling sideshow every four years that lets us profess we’re facilitating. Most people would agree that the government generally acts most of the time. Most parties, nonetheless, aren’t well informed instances like these, in which the governmental forces flunked us so hard that it damn near killed us.
# 5. Dangerous Compounds Are Poorly Accumulated In Highly Populated Areas
In movies and video games, hazardous explosive materials are everywhere. Prominently-placed red barrels wait for the chance to catch an errant missile and transmit some faceless bad people to Obliteration City.( Fun fact: OC is not technically a town, but preferably an incorporated neighbourhood of Dismemberment Town .) It’s an absurd action cliche … which too happens to be entirely accurate. Our metropolitans are substance to the gills with random explosives, just waiting for somebody to walk away from them in slow motion.
“DAMN, WE LOOK COOL! “ “WHAT ?! ”
The EPA, which takes responsibility of the most dangerous cloths in the country, reports that there are 12,000 chemical storage sites that could constitute a danger to people living nearby. A 2012 congressional report found that a significant number of these websites are in the middle of populous provinces. For nearly 2,500 of these facilities, an accident could endanger 10,000 to one million people. And a Greenpeace study ascertained 89 locates that could pose a risk to even more than that. The point is that every time person from The Expendables visits a new residence, we’re playing Russian roulette with “peoples lives”. As to where those residences are, precisely?( So that we can gently steer Bruce Willis away and detail him to the nearest white-guy off-colors prohibit instead .) They can’t tell us!
# 4. Religious Daycares Have Zero Accountability
Generally, this is necessary a licence to do anything really cool — driving a vehicle, play-act surgery, grooming a domesticated, etc. It is no surprise, then, that you need a license to move a daycare. After all, our children are nearly as important as our dogs’ haircuts. Unless, of course, you run a religious daycare. In all such cases, the government is apparently counting on your deity to make sure things run smoothly.
Unsurprisingly, that doesn’t ever work up so well. For speciman, at the West Bay Christian Center in Alabama, brats were locked in closets until they peed themselves, following the classic Christian teaching “Whomever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, shalt pee in the closet forevermore, amen.”
“I know you guys can’t read, but trust me.”
Then there’s the Praise Fellowship Assembly of God Church, where religious exceptions allowed them to hem nation staff and training minima. That led to a staff of five watching 50-60 children, and therefore not noticing when a toddler fell into the daycare’s baptismal kitty and submerge. That occurrence justification them to lose their certification. Not their certification to run a daycare like a puppy mill, of course. Just their certification of qualification for tax-funded vouchers they used to defray the high cost of not watching your children.
Most all of these fright narrations come from states like Florida, Alabama, and Indiana, which, on the basis of break-up of religion and district, have passed laws relieving religious daycares from government omission. In the case of vehicles of Alabama, Indiana, Missouri, and North Carolina, they’re even allowed to use corporal punishment. In all, 16 territories pass a pass on licensing conventions to any daycare that proclaims itself a church. Oh, and sorry, but we checked: “The Holy Church Of Fuck You, Gimme Money” was already taken.
Here’s their headquarters .
# 3. Teacher Screening Systems Are Dangerously Inadequate
If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that we need to keep dangerous crooks away from our children. That’s why we screen our educators. No contention here; there’s nobody “against” that particular stage. Well, aside from dangerous crooks who want to be near children. Regrettably, we guess their singer countings extremely …
Take one Brett J. Zagorac, prolific molester of Illinois schoolchildren. If it appears to be strange to refer to someone as a “prolific child molester, ” we’re sorry for the things you’re about to learn. Zagorac was a substitute teacher until he was accused of molesting children placed in 2002. If the government was actually doing its chore, he would have been immediately prohibited from educating children and forced to become a jester instead, as is the natural method of things.
Their snout alone scream “Remain 30 feet away from a school.”
Instead, he has continued improving our youth. Specifically, he’s developing them about inappropriate touching, with farther happens in 2003, 2005, 2010, and 2014. He was able to get close to these teenagers over and over again because regime the recording of teacher evictions have more incongruities than Timerider: The Adventure Of Lyle Swann .
The federal government’s stance toward moving sure our minors aren’t being learnt by Buffalo Bill is virtually “Eh, someone else will take care of this.” And they’re right, to some degree. The slack has been picked up by a nonprofit that made the Multistate Educator Lookup System, or MELS. Regrettably, they’re about as good at hindering piranhas out of schools as they are at believing up catchy acronyms.
“I was tired and a Lethal Weapon marathon was on. Clear it work.”
MEL’Ss major difficulty is that it can’t oblige academy executives to register punishment teachers. This means that their database of Mr. Badtouches relies on government heads leading over and above the call of duty.
Have you gratified authority executives?
“I’ll get to it after we finish the thing about the length of prom dresses.”
A USA Today investigation found that there are at least 9,000 educators missing from MELS, which includes at least 200 whose permissions were rescinded for physical or sexual abuse of their students. But surely, they can’t all be unstoppable molestation Terminators like Zagorac. R-right? Well, one( comically small-time) contemplate has been done on this, carried out by the Government Accountability Office back in 2010. They looked into 15 subjects in which a school hired a coach with a biography of accosting their students, and in six members of those cases, the teach did it again. For those of you who learned math from an ex-con who should have been barred from educating: That’s virtually goddamn half of them.

Note
I watched Timerider on Dailymotion. Objectively it's not as good as BttF 1 and is on par with BttfF 3 and the motocross focus ages it. BUT I think it delivered in a way that BttF 1/3 didn't and was able to do so because it wasn't aiming to be family-friendly.
According to Wikipedia, Timerider used November 5, 1877 as point of arrival because a previous time travel movie had used November 5th. Apparently BttF isn’t the origin and November being time travel month has been around longer than I’d expected.
November truly is time travel month. That’s excellent.
Thanks for the Timerider review! I wasn’t going to watch it and now I think I might.
