My work is often related to the choices we make as humans and how it affects the small and the big picture. For inspiration I walk." says Elin. #Repost @hataraproject ・・・ Annea Lounatvuori is one of Hatara -project founders back in the spring of 2014 and is going to participate in the exhibition - Time Perception VOL.3 in Munich in march this year. About her new collection - Under The Pine (tree) 2017 I spend many of my childhood summers on a small island that belongs to my family. I loved the nature. There were lot of rocks and stones and pine trees and long long grass since the island was only occupied during the holidays. It was a perfect place for an adventure and imaginative play but at the same time it was also very lonely for me since being the only child around. Under The Pine jewellery pieces are inspired by the memories and feelings of that time. The brooches I see as abstract landscapes, like old photographs that take you back in time. The ring is a kind of a mark or note that says "I was here". The word pine has also other meanings e.g. to miss someone, languish or waste away. #Repost @hataraproject •Helmi Lindblom joined Hatara Project last year. "Usually my working process starts from playing with materials I have at home. Mixing different media leads me wherever it is necessary to go." - Helmi explains. About her collection "Fruitfully Yours" - It started from my glue-technique I started with the squeezable Tule-series. This time I mixed balloons with hot glue, resin and silicon and ended up with soulful shapes. I associate these forms with pomegranates and fertility. The inner glue drops reminded me of eggs or egg cells. Association to egg cells might be because it was not so long ago when some add from social media asked me weather I would like them to count my egg cells, my days of fruitfulness. These shapes started an ongoing thinking process of today’s paradox: simultaneous population growth and entering the sixth mass extinction. With this series I focus on these two opposites. First pieces of fertility are colorful and filled with life. They are powerful, shouting and fill the room with energy. Necklaces consist of glued balloons and colored howlite stones that have burning variations of reds, almost straight from melted lava streams. In this first series are also simply one balloon brooches with silver brooch backs and earrings for one ear. These silver brooch backsides resemble melted lava. For me lava represents destruction and sudden catastrophe but also fertile land suitable for growing. Pieces from extinction are silent in comparison to their colorful opposites like extinction is silent in comparison to birth. I want to put forth the feel of extinction with color contrast from black and white balloons. Black balloon pieces are combined with black matte lava beads and silver. White balloons have only wire or pieces of wood from endangered (thought recycled) trees. photo credits goes to @ninnividgren (Model Josephine Erista) More about the artist - http://www.strangebutjewelry.com/ #timeperceptionvol3 #hataraproject #mjw17 #cottoncandy @helmilindblom #contemporaryjewelry #contemporaryjewellery #joyeriacontemporanea #klimt02 #TJA #ajfishere #munichjewelleryweek2017 #munichjewelleryweek17 #mjw17 #mjw2017

#Repost @hataraproject •Jelizaveta Suska She was born in Latvia, where she completed her Bachelor degree education in Art Academy of Latvia as a metal designer. At the age of 24 she moved to Gothenburg in Sweden for studying and permanent living. In 2015 she graduated from #AcademyofDesignandCrafts (HDK) at #UniversityofGothenburg In year 2016 Jelizaveta received The #HerbertHofmannPrize, and #AmberprizeatAmberifAward 'Frozen Moment' pieces are a lot about feelings of nostalgia, of a moment in time. In my work, I was looking for materialization of these abstract matters. I based it on associations and feelings. After a period of research, I came up with my own material that the pieces are made of. This material has two main compounds: polymer, that is light and transparent, just like 'a moment' and crushed marble, that creates an illusion of a solid stone which I associate with a feeling of nostalgia. In the beginning of crafting each piece, material is hot and dynamic but in a while it turns still. Like a metaphor of a moment becoming a memory. When looking at my works, people often are saying that they look like ice or unknown minerals. I question traditional approaches and instead of valuable jewels I celebrate the idea behind the material. That's why for the rear of the brooches and other supporting details I use valuable metals like gold, gold plated silver and titanium. In this project, I created more than 200 hundred pieces. I then selected 21 and crafted them into the jewelry. #Repost @hataraproject ・Susanna Yläranta Born in 1986, Finnish jewellery designer, graduated from #savoniaUASAcademyofDesign During her studies she founded a jewellery collective #PULA and were organizing exhibitions and participating in various design events. She is passionate to create and guide new events and concepts in the field of contemporary jewellery. In her recent work she has been working with veneer after falling in love with it in one workshop. The material has its own nature, it is flexible but also very stubborn. Moreover every piece of veneer has a history and its own character. In 2015 she established a veneer jewellery label viilu with a German designer - carpenter #TobiasFeuerbacher. She relies on clear lines and simplicity. She finds art effective, when it is possible to express a lot with minimal elements. The current collection Aligning is about the human need to count, arrange and control time.
