I had to work sunrise to sunset this christmas so I guess we're doing a christmas work rant. The young employee who's always tried to bully me high school style has been trying not so subtly to get rid of me, right? Well anyway, I can't tell if she's lying about the corporate boss plotting to give me the boot or just trying to scare me into leaving. If it's the latter, joke's on her because it's next to impossible getting hired anywhere else as a noticeably neurodivergent 'too old to still be single' queer woman? whatever guy with 3 dogs & a senior horse. Doesn't matter that I still don't have any tattoos.
The work 'evaluation' meeting we had recently seemed to go well with the boss even admitting that she'd short-staffed the business for the hardest part of the year and caused me to have problems. Corporate types are all snakes though. I don't even trust her as far as I could throw her, which is probably only 1 or 2 feet because a 5 gallon bucket of water is about the limit of what I can toss without messing up my back.
I was just thinking back to the clash we had over the summer. I'd been picking up the slack for months. Doing 50 hours a week of ranch work on average, and not even logging all of it. My one coworker (the 'manager') was slacking off and taking tons of vacations. I was tired all the time. I had no life outside of work. I even put my 3x more profitable illustration work on hold. And still when I asked to be paid for 2 hours too many the boss turned on me like grandpa Bilbo seeing the ring. She actually accused me of trying to "steal" from the company. Because I was requesting too much overtime in order to keep her damn business running somewhat smoothly in a 3 month 100+ degree heatwave.
After that I had a long talk with my corporate CEO uncle, who loves talking about Business. He said it was my mistake all along. That was hard to take but I can admit I messed up. I had to reevaluate my whole life from that point. Again.
When you're raised with that puritanical 50's martyr-like work ethic you're set up for failure. "Nobody wants to work anymore"? I want to work! I want to work harder than anyone will pay me to work. And like a fool I did anyway, and I got burned for it. Again.
Sometimes I really can't believe where I am now. Like true, I am insane by some metrics, but I still got a degree with honors, customers love me, I speak 2.5 languages, I have management experience, I've successfully run a whole boarding stable on my own, and my personal hobby that I do for FUN is finding the most efficient way to do the most tasks possible. Time blindness who? I don't need to see that bitch, I know exactly how long it takes me to walk across the room. And here I still am getting paid 2k a month, stuck living behind a barn, with a boss who was deeply offended when I told her the 31 cent raise (gotta appreciate that extra penny) she gave me was the second lowest I'd ever gotten. The only lower one being the automatic $.25 raise I got for working at the roach infested college sandwich shop for 2 semesters over a decade ago.
But nah, it's a always been a me problem. I should've known better than to work harder than they were willing to pay me. Am I also about to get nerfed by corporate for not volunteering to do extra unpaid work now? UhâYEH. Of course I am! Foolish of me to imagine there was any way to win this.
I just can't get over the fact that I was giving them so much value for the pennies they were paying and it still was barely enough to qualify for basic survival. The boss doesn't even see or understand a fraction of what I did for this business. At one point she haughtily tried to remind me that I was also getting 'free rent' and board for my horse, but it's like, 'yeah, and you're getting someone present at your business 24/7 and a worker who can better connect with boarders.' Don't act like you're doing me a favor. I'm not your charity case. I'd rather have an extra 2K a month and live offsite. Except I'd need another 3k a month to afford rent within 50 miles.
I'm just so angry at every hustle culture shill and out of touch boomer who's still out there lyingâsaying that all it takes is a 'can do' attitude and maybe a college degree.
Apart from the year I was too ill to work I've worked multiple grueling jobs, 40+ hours a week for my whole adult life, I've lived on eggs and bologna for most of it, and if I lose this job in January I'll be homeless. Again.
Make it make sense. Make the meritocracy they hallucinate exist for me for FIVE MINUTES. Just once.
I just want someone with money to see everything I can do and say, "you're cool, I think you deserve to live. Not only that, but here's enough money that you can afford to do something crazy-banana-town like some regular maintenance on your car."
What's worse, sometimes, is that I know if I just gave in and played the stock market and did the credit card schemes and maybe did a few other crimes and exploited some other poor saps, I could probably actually make it. I hate it so much.
I am the ghost of christmas future.
#im so tired#time for my 3rd or 4th midlife crisis#millennial things#do I need to say if I was a cis man shit would be different?#no bc they literally pay the cis man $2 more than me and we do the same job#still shit pay though#life of a texan peasant#end capitalism before it ends us#corporate american hellscape

Movies I watched this week (#180):
Harakiri - Surprising First Watch, and my first by Masaki Kobayashi. The highest-rated film on Letterbox (4.69/5.00 score based on 109,000 reviews), and đŻÂ score on Rotten Tomatoes. An exploration of the Bushido code of honor, told in a spartan style and stark formalism. (Photo Above).
đż
"Oh, how I'd like to own a fish store..."
King of Jazz is a strange pre-code potpourri of spectacular musical numbers and mad-cap revue bits - all in early (1930) magnificent Technicolor. Experimental in parts and irreverent in others, its an old-fashioned Hollywood extravaganza and vaudeville-hall silliness mixed into an incoherent string of unrelated numbers. There's a sadomasochistic spanking number, a surrealist 'Happy Feet' number decades before Steve Martin, A Mexican band with giant sombreros, contortionists, bizarre chorus girls, red-cheeked Bing Crosby, a sudden appearance of a black baby caressed by the band leader. It's really weird.
đż
My favorite kind of discovery in the course of this project is the random movie I never heard of and which comes from some far-flung cinematic corner. Better still if they don't even have a Wikipedia page, and best is if they're really good.
The Finnish parody A patriotic man (2013) fits the bill. It's about the unexpected adventures of one ungainly middle-age man with somehow unusual blood type. Like many other Finnish dramas, it's dour, unsexy, seemingly-simple, and it's full of smoking, drinking, and people speaking Finnish. It doesn't have a strong dramatic 'center', but I am still going to look for the other films by director Arto Halonen.
đż
Hit man, the latest (and most commercial?) popcorn fluff piece from Richard Linklater. A nerd teacher by day and fake hit man by night falls for a dame who wants to kill her abusive husband. Netflix chum. 6/10.
đż
3 more Danish films, 2 scripted by Anders Thomas Jensen:
đż At World's End (2006), a completely unexpected action-comedy in the Indonesian rain forest, in search of the white lotus of eternal life. Strange fun with an likely hero, an uptight psychiatrist who is sent to the jungle to examine Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, a Ex-Danish hermit charged of a lethal attack on a David Attenborough-type TV-crew.
Anders Thomas Jensen had written numerous stories where ordinary Danes find themselves in peril in exotic lands, but this is the wildest of them. If he was also the director here, this would have been an even funnier & more successful film. 7/10.
đż Clash of egos (2006), written by ATJ. The conflict here is between a short-triggered guy with some serious angry management issues, and a passive-aggressive film-director who make pretentious, art-house garbage, a-la Lars von Trier. It ends up as a parody on the small Danish film world. Mildly funny.
đż What a life - What a night - What a beautiful, beautiful ride...
Another re-watch of Another round â»ïž. The experiment of staying buzzed all day is the hook, but the story is more about a midlife crisis, with the quiet desperation of Danish middle class men, than about alcohol and drinking. It would be nice if Mads Mikkelsen were to dance more in his movies. 9/10.
đż
"Love isn't easy. That's why they call it love..."
Because of the 'We lost 19 of our best guys' clip, I watched The big sick again, for the 3rd or 4th time. Is this one of the greatest modern rom-coms? I feel that I've said exactly that last time too. Their romance and relationship are just so cute. 9/10. â»ïž.
đż
"...Wait, wait! You don't have to do this! I have kids at home! ....
Not with that ass, lady, you don't...."
And another frequent re-watch: Game Night â»ïž, the only good film that Rachel McAdams played in since 'Spotlight'.
đż
6 documentaries:
đż Very much like the German documentary 'Into Great Silence', Athos (2016) intimately describes the spiritual life of an ascetic monastery. This 'Holy Mountain' religious community is an autonomic government in Northern Greece. 2000 monks lives on a beautiful isolated area, and no women are allowed to set foot there - It's the ultimate patriarchy!
For people who love Gregorian chants, Vermeer lightening, Orthodox ossuaries, and the idea of resigning for this world, it's a slow, comforting glide, with all-natural sound and no talk-overs. 9/10.
đż Another of Ken Burns' American sagas, The dust bowl (2012), again narrated by Peter Coyoteâs soothing voice. I was not aware that it was partially a man-made catastrophe, caused by the irresponsible farm practice of overproduction of wheat on land better suited to grazing. Also about photographer Arthur Rothstein. At 4 hours, it was a bit long, but oh well...
đż ...The Godfather, The Conversation, Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deer Hunter...
I knew it was you: Rediscovering John Cazale (2009) is a fawning assessment of the guy who starred in only 5 films, but they were all masterpieces. He was very special, but this Talking Heads approach was off-putting.
đż Paragraph 175, a moving story of the persecution of homosexuals by the Nazi regime. It is told via interviews with some older gay survivors, which in 2000 were among the only 10 known still-living ex-victims.
đż âHey. How about we order some Chinese? - Order some Chinese to do what?âŠâ
Grass is a 1999 Canadian documentary about the American government war on marijuana. What horrendous crimes were committed during the sickening century of the "war on drugs"! And what do you know, all along it was just another part of a racist policy against blacks and Mexicans. Fuck Harry J. Anslinger, Edgar Hoover, Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr. And also fuck Bill Clinton et. al. Narrated by pothead Woody Harrelson.
đż How Chris Silverman Makes Art In the iOS Notes App - more of a YouTube interview about my favorite digital illustrator. I posted quiet a few of his illustrations before.
đż
A different experience? Darren Aronofsky's latest Postcard from Earth. A science fiction fantasy which was created for display at the $2 billion Las Vegas 'Sphere'. Part tourist postcard from 2001 Space Odyssey, but mostly a National Geography / BBC Earth nature doc, done with the biggest, most immersive camera and display systems. Latest drone work, IMAX Super and highest resolution "available today".
Obviously I saw it on Youtube, not "Live". But, it looks like what 'Koyaanisqatsi' did better 40 years earlier.
đż
3 Shorts:
đż âEâ (1981), my second by Czech puppeteer BĆetislav Pojar. Not everybody reads an E-sculpture as 'E'. Some see it as 'B'.
đż Peter and Ben (2007), a sweet story about two loners: A guy who lives in a beautiful, empty valley in Wales and a lamb who bonds with him, and won't leave.
đż The swearer (2017), made by an Israeli youngster, as part of film studies at some high school. They posted 98 entries on their YouTube channel, and this was the most popular with 1.3M views. But it was very juvenile. 2/10.
đż
Because Françoise Hardy died today (at the age of 80!), I watched one of her movies. Sadly, I picked What's new, pussycat?, Woody Allen's first produced play. A terrible, disgusting "comedy" about 3 lecherous cads, proudly sex-crazed misogynists in Paris, who try to fuck anything that move. It's hard to look back and imagine there was a time when the promiscuous Woody Allen character was acceptable as the ideal of a sexy lover. Here he modeled himself after Groucho Marx, and even copied 'The stateroom scene' from a 'Night in the opera' during the final orgy scene. I would have quit this piece of shit many times, but I waited to see 21-year-old Françoise Hardy. Unfortunately, she appeared in the very last scene! 1/10.
RIP, Françoise Hardy! (I'll always play your Tous les garçons et les filles with Léa Seydoux. Or La Question...)
đż
I only saw one movie by M. Night Shyamalan before ('Old'), so I tried another. The Happening sounded okay, because 'Hey, a thriller about mass suicide'. But it was unwatchable from the very first scenes: Atrocious script, horrible acting, poor mise-en-scene, just a bunch of 'odd, inexplicable things happening' one after the other. I forced myself to stay awake for 25 minutes, but any longer, I would have committed suicide too.
đż
"Today I learnt that" on September 10, 2001, resident curmudgeon George Carlin recorded an album called I Kinda Like It When a Lotta People Die. In the set's 10-minute maniacal closer, "Uncle Dave", Carlin explains why he likes "big, fatal disasters with lots of dead people". It also involves references to Osama bin Laden and an exploding airplane.
Needless to say, this ornery tirade was shelved in the afternoon of the very next day. The posthumously-released album included a very weak rant from 1957 and interviews with some friends. The second best joke was about the guy who invented the first enema.

Music well versed
Iâve wanted to write this one for a while.
Finally getting around to it now. Itâs late or early for some. Sleeping problems as usual.
Through my life and (skateboarding especially!) Im pretty well versed in music. For the last nearly 8 years Iâve been stuck in 1 genre particularly. I want to write about music Iâve been into throughout life.
When I was a child I had to listen to pop/hit radio music when riding in the car with my mom.
I canât stand 90s music for this very reason And when I hear it anywhere it reminds me of this feeling.
When we would go on road trips it would be some mix tape my dad put together. Or the Smashing Pumpkins. He was a really big fan of them.
Im not into them but always liked âWe only come out night.â And would perk up from a long car ride slumber when I heard it come on!
I wasnât much into music at this age besides tracks Iâd hear in video games Iâd being playing.
It wasnât until the end of 4th grade I got a real taste at music when my friend Erik Mueller let me borrow his Rammstein cd, Sehnsucht. I didnât know the words at all but the industrial beats and metal sound was very appealing to me at the time. I remembering trying to get into Metallica then too but didnât feel em. A few months later it was summer before I was in 5th grade and I was staying the night at my buddy Justinâs watching MTV late night and saw and heard the coolest thing my 10 year old self could imagine. A dude in a backward red Yankees cap walking downtown the street telling people he did it all for the nookie! I was instantly drawn into Limp Bizkit and wanted the Significant Other CD so bad. My parents were hesitant though because of the parental advisory rating. I eventually got the Family Values Tour 98â with parental advisory. This was such a big deal to me at that time! Eventually shortly after they got me Significant Other. I got my copy of 3 Dollar Bill Yâall from Walmart and it was censored and still to this day Iâm pissed about it! Started listening to some Korn after but they werenât as appealing to me as Limp! Moved to Texas that winter and the older cooler kids that skated were into Slipknot! So I got that CD shortly after coming to Texas. That first Slipknot album was pretty decent. Iâve been listening to it lately skating with Anthony! Still holds up. Got into that first Papa Roach Album for a little bit but they didnât hold up for me. A few rap albums⊠slimshady and Ludacris, wasnât all that into hip hop and rap then. Started skating in middle of 6th grade and then music started to change for me.
My dad got a bunch of tickets to the Vans Warped tour 2001. I was new to skating and about to be introduced to the punk scene. I started getting into all this punk not only through the concert but new skate friends. The Vandals were a big one for me through 7th grade. some Casualties, the Dead Kennedyâs, the Queers (thanks Matt!) The Misfits, Guttermouth. Was really into CKY then too!
8th grade Flip Sorry just came out and I was blown away by Artoâs part and the Bowie score! I was curious about this stuff and asked my dad about him and the Velvet Underground. This was when I was starting to get into Bowie. Most of 8th grade was listening to music strictly from skate parts. Trying to get into other rock (Rush, Zepellin, The Who). Most didnât stick though. Except Bowie! Had a GnR phase end of 8th grade through 9th grade.
Went into 9th grade listening to the Doors I was a full âBaker Cloneâ. This is Skateboarding just came out! Baker overtook Flip for me. I was fully submerged into all of Bowies discography continuing on from the previous year. Was trying to get into Iâm a Robot. Cause of the Boss. Mostly only listened to Bowie. Lots of Swisha House stuff then too. I was finally coming around to liking more rap.
10th grade I was getting burned out on Bowie. I would be playing through GTA San Andreas and didnât realize the station I listened to and liked on there would be the genre that was planted and would forever change music for meâŠ. SFUR. Quality Haus music! I really enjoyed all of it⊠808 State, Mr. Fingers, Frankie Knuckles A Guy Called Gerald! All the House pioneers!!!. I spent hours playing this game! It was my favorite GTA by far! That was my intro to House! The music Iâve always liked! My buddy Lucas let me borrow a Requiem for a Dream Remix Cd and I remember loving this Guy Called Gerald Track Fear and Body! I never fully got submerged into House til a few years later though. But I knew the real quality stuff! Started listening to 89.9 KTSW and other strange music while out skating. The weirder the better. 89.9 was always a good station and continued listening to it over the years, they got me into lots of music (Enon, I Am the World Trade Center, Prefuse 73, Stereolab, Crystal Castles naming a few). More rap especially SA locals 3rd Degree.
11th grade the year I quit skating, when I was in my prime. It was my midlife skating crisis. Once I quit skating I was fully into rap and hip hop only. Classic Screw tapes. All Texas rap. A few other artist. NERD. Anything produced by the Neptunes. Pharrell. Kept up this music along with a mixture of 89.9 music and weird electronica stuff (Unkle, Cornelius) for the coming years until 2013. Oohh yea 2011 I was really into Jelli radio in LV, the concept was brilliant and the after hours community was fun.
CavEmpt introduced me to this obscure record label The Trilogy Tapes and thatâs when it came around full circle for me on House music and techno. It took years but the seed was already planted from GTA San Andreas and Iâve really only been listening to that music since! Itâs hard to listen to much of anything else these days for me!
My good friend Nick got me into some great stuff
Ryuchi Sakamoto
David Sylvain
Tangerine Dream
And he has a great ear for Haus/techno too!
So thereâs my well rounded music evolution!
Learned lots from friends and skating over the years.

I've managed to miss the first four-ish days of @proxyjammerâs TFILF already (somehow) so I decided to put together a rec post for each day's theme before I can lose track of time again! I read a lot of angst and AUs which...made this surprisingly difficult, so some most of them are also AUs in addition to the main theme. but here we go!
Feb. 1st: Fluff
Confirmation Bias by GalenaÂ
a short and sweet little friendship story with Rung taking care of an injured, slowly starving Whirl in an alien prison. complete with cuddles!
Feb. 2nd: Angst
Too Buff to Buff by enthusiasticinformedfragging
another Whirl and Rung one, which kind of teeters on the edge of fluff as well. mostly a character study of Whirl and his trauma, interwoven with soothing massage and paintjob time.Â
Feb. 3rd: AU - (aka THE HARDEST CATEGORY BECAUSE I READ TOO MANY AU)
You Are Listening To by @zekkass
this fic has it all - Soundwave/Optimus, nonbinary Soundwave, fascinating worldbuilding, complex communication hub-mech politics, Soundwave and Optimus racing around an AU Cybertron that seems so fleshed out yet alien through Soundwaveâs perspecetive...itâs just a ton of fun!
Feb. 4th: Humor/Crack
Champion by @astolat
all of Astolatâs fic are interesting, but this one is the story of how Rumble and Frenzy somehow accidentally sort of wind up cooperating with Autobots in the name of Sick Fucking Beats and end the war with poetry along the way. Astolat's fic are all Quality (especially And I Alone Have Escaped To Tell You, a close runner up for the one-shot...) but any fic with the tag Underground Dance Party wins the crack category in my heart.
Feb. 5th: One-shot
Blank Page Waiting by @spockandawe
the adventures of Prowl and empurata!drone!Megatron! based on art by @larrydraws. featuring Prowl having a midlife crisis over the mysterious poetry showing up all over his apartment, like a dope. with Pushkin!Â
Feb. 6th: Multichapter
Mirror Mirror by @albawritesÂ
an old classic - Krok winds up in an IDW Shattered Glass universe through shenanigans, and has to find his way back to his version of the Scavengers. this is one of those fics where I wish there was a million words-worth of it, because the world building is phenomenal and I want to bury myself in more of what we just scrape the surface of. Shattered Glass done right is a beautiful thing, and the SG!DJD alone are super entertaining!
Feb. 7th: Your choice!
Technical Difficulties by Cici_Nota
eleven chapters of Ratchet desperately trying to save the Lost Light as he relives the same sequence of events over and over again in a time loop, with mounting frustration every time something goes awry and heâs forced to start all over again from the beginning. the slow one step forward, two steps back nature of the obstacles that keep getting through in Ratchetâs way as he becomes progressively more desperate, the subtle relief when Drift starts to casually accept the weirdness and help Ratchet partway through - itâs all so good. 11/10, definitely need to read again...
Feb 8th: 18+ Smut
Mend What is Broken by @warlordenfilade
reccing the whole series, because it was one of the first fic series I read while dipping my toes into Transformers fandom, and so one that is near and dear to my heart. Drift and Ratchet and oodles of hurt/comfort/fluff smut that I have reread...an embarassing number of times...

Hockey Twitter reacts to NHL Draft Lottery results
(Screengrab via Sportsnet)
After the first round of Saturdayâs NHL Draft Lottery, it was Ottawa and Arizona rounding out the top five, followed by Detroit, Vancouver, Chicago, New York (Rangers) and Edmonton at No. 10.
This left fans of the Canadiens, Sabres and Hurricanes â who moved up from the 11th spot â waiting until the second intermission of the Vegas-San Jose game to see if their club will have the fortune of landing the first overall pick.
Itâs been 30 years since any of these teams picked first.
#NHLDraftLottery will see the Canadiens, Sabres or Hurricanes draft 1st overall. BUF's picked 1st twice (1970, 1987), MTL 5 times (1963, 1968-69, 1971, 1980) & CAR never before
â StatsCentre (@StatsCentre) April 29, 2018
When all was said and done, it was the Sabres who saw the odds fall in their favour and will get to draft a generational blueliner in Rasmus Dahlin, with the Hurricanes and Habs choosing second and third, respectively.
As one would expect in this beautiful, technological world we live in, Hockey Twitter â especially in Buffalo, Edmonton, Vancouver, Montreal and Ottawa â was buzzing after the results.
Party responsibly, Buffalo!

I can't remember the last time the #Sabres had a franchise defenseman. They just got one. This is not a drill.

With the first pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, the Buffalo #Sabres selectâŠ
Josh Allen!
â Bradley Gelber (@BradleyGelber) April 29, 2018
The Buffalo #Sabres get the top pick & Rasmus Dahlin. That changes the mood in that city drastically. Ryan O'Reilly & Chad Johnson were ripping the team's situation a couple of weeks ago. And now: they have the next great young talent in the #hockey world on their roster.
â Randip Janda (@RandipJanda) April 29, 2018
The Oilers attempt to #MakeItFive fell short but, letâs be real â with four first overall picks since 2010, Edmonton was the last team that deserved to draft Dahlin.Â
Just remember that the Oilers won the greatest draft lottery in history #McDavid #MakeItFive

â Shaun Bilyk (@stovernut83) April 28, 2018
Looking at the #NHLDraftLottery from 2008 to Present. The #East have select 1st overall 6 times The #Oilers have selected 1st overall 4 times The rest of the #West have selected 1st overall 1 time
â Devon Tufts â Midlife Crisis (@Ryudoz82) April 29, 2018
Picking 10th for #Oilers, must feel like a 2nd round pick for them #NHLDraftLottery
â Darren Thibeau (@darrenthibeau) April 29, 2018
With the oilers not winning the draft lottery, we get to actually evaluate Kieth Gretzkyâs drafting ability! Iâm excited to see who he drafts. Iâd pass on Dobson & Bouchard. You need to skate in the NHL first & foremost.
â OEG (@OILCHEMIST) April 29, 2018
The Canucks have been the NHLâs lowliest squad since 2015, but havenât selected any higher than 5th.
The Vancouver Canucks have been the worst team in the league over the past 3 years. They've had the 5th, 5th, and 7th picks to show for all of that losing. Woof.

A brief look at the draft lottery pros and cons for Canucks fans. Pros: -It wasn't EDM -It wasn't CHI -No "get out of jail free" card for mgmt -Tkachuk either gets taken ahead or is a fine pick at 7 Cons: -Unlikely they get an elite player -NYI didn't win with CGY's pick

Right on cue, disappointment with the draft leads to attacks on Benning & Linden. No one would ever admit that they think management is responsible for our bad luck â that would be stupid â but boy does it sure look like people are blaming management for our bad luck. #Canucks

So:
1) Canucks still have a great chance at a good player 2) Canucks will never win anything ever because we're not allowed to have nice things 3) At least Edmonton didn't get first
â Wyatt Arndt (@TheStanchion) April 28, 2018
The Canadiens moved up one spot to No. 3, and wonât get that young stud blue-liner that they really donât deserve. Lotâs of forward talent to choose from, though.Â
BREAKING: Bergevin thinks his lottery pick has character issues.

#Habs will get deeper on the wing.
â John Lu (@JohnLuTSNMtl) April 29, 2018
Dahlin Svechnikov Zadina#Habs get one of those.
Then they have, like, 8 more picks in the top 100
â Alex Nyko (@AlexNyko) April 29, 2018
The #Habs had a higher chance of drafting 5-7 and actually managed to jump into the top 3. That's a win. Zadina is a great player.
â Emmanuel (@iTheDeadPixel) April 29, 2018
A good weekend in #Habs land. Ducharme and the 3rd pick? Letâs head into the summer with positive vibes, draft Zadina, sign Tavares, and win a god damn Stanley Cup! Letâs gooooo!
â Habarnac (@Habarnac) April 29, 2018
Remember when #Habs did the league a favor and took John Scott. Today we get repaid.

For many Senators fans, including their GM, some hope remains despite dropping out of the Top 3. For others, however, the fix was in.Â
Sens' Dorion: "After watching the jubilation of the three guys I don't think we're going to be able to move to one, two or three, but we feel very fortunate to be picking No. 4 ⊠we feel that pick will be important to our franchise"
â Mark Masters (@markhmasters) April 29, 2018
Brady Tkachuk on Logan Browns wing wouldnât be the worst thing in the world. #Sens #Positives
â Andrew (@Raptor1165) April 29, 2018
No complaints here with #sens drafting 4th. Donât forget Sens were able to draft Karlsson at 15th overall in 2008
â Boyler (@Boyler33) April 29, 2018
DRAFT IS FIXED BY BETTMAN AND SIDEKICK DALY not lottery or we would see the balls drop ? Not them just come on and tell us as Daly smiles when he announced @Senators #4 ? Between Bettman & Melnyk our team is destined to fail for years to come ? Sad day for #SENS fansââïž
â Charles Barber (@bubbabarber77) April 29, 2018
Melnyk probably already on the phone with the police to start an investigation lol #Sens
â vincent borsellino (@vintage831) April 29, 2018
If I was @MelnykEugene I would be so mad. The fix is in!!! If it were me I would sell. Melnyk should tell NHL to shove it and sell! #sens screw job!
â Kevtastic! (@roysrants) April 29, 2018
And the #Sens awful season continues #NHLDraftLottery
â Thomas Conrad (@ThomasDelbert84) April 29, 2018
Oh, and there was this â I respect the optimism, but damn.
We have a winner for the brand new Dahlin jersey from tonightâs Sens draft party draw. Congrats Mario Stepa pic.twitter.com/fH9S6bVuMk
