At this point I regret making a claim and wish i could turn back the clock. I am being forced into a box and it looks shady. Three weeks ago my 2005 Cadillac STS was involved in a parking lot flood where the water rose and filled the floors of my car by about 4 inches. All us neighbors had cleaning parties using a wet vac and baking and toweling are cars in the sun over the next few days letting our vehicles dry out. On my car everything works like a dream as it did before with the exception of a 'check stability control' notice that comes on when I start the car. I have been driving the car fine since the flood and decided maybe I should make a claim to fix this error that pops up on the dash when i start the car. From the time I dropped it off at the dealer it has been all negative. Right away the dealer was negative and telling me it's the end of the world with my car, everything is ruined and it will probably be a total loss. He got the adjuster for my insurance company out there and it looks like it will be put in to the total loss category. No i am just asking the insurance company to forget everything and drop the claim because the damage is not that extreme and i dont want to lose my car. I am told at this point it is too late. Is that true? My neighbors are floored by this, i have been driving it around for a few weeks just fine and the car still looks new With only 62000 miles on it. I can't help from thinking that something suspicious is going on here. Do they stand to make a nice profit by totalling my vehicle and then replacing one module for a 1000 or so and having a perfect car with all systems working? Also the lady from the claims office said the car had to be 80% damaged for it to be a total loss. I asked her if this was based on speculative problems that they think may occur in the future because of the water, or based on actual damage now? She said it had to be actual damage now but couldn't give me any details from the adjuster yet. Can I demand that the adjuster list everything that he thinks has been damaged to my car (which I am convinced he will have to be creative to do so)? The car as i said drives wonderful, I checked the fluids on my own (fine), and the car looks new. Do I have any recourse here? I just want the car fixed for the one problem, i dont want to lose the car, and at this point I don't even care about having insurance fix the one problem, but again I am told it is too late to go backwards and drop this entire issue. So i made a mistake. I was stopped last night and cited by a law enforcement officer for no proof of insurance. I had an idea that my insurance was no longer valid due to it overdrafting from my account when i had no money. so i contacted the insurance company and now they will NOT re-instate the insurance policy due to the fact that i have had two bad overdrafts with them. Hello, I need some advice. About 5 months ago, I was in a car accident where I had borrowed my brother's car to run a quick errand. I was not covered on the insurance for the vehicle. I was in a parking lot going straight about 15mph and another car from a feeder lane made a quick left turn (there was a stop sign for her) without paying attention and there was a collision. As far as I can tell, in this type of collision (left turn into a thoroughfare from a feeder) fault lies 100% with the other driver (as far as insurance goes). Today, I received a letter from a collection agency representing the other driver's insurance company demanding $10,000 in damages for repairs. They claim that the facts state that as a result of MY negligence I am responsible for the damages incurred. I cannot afford this. I don't know what to do. How is this my fault? I have a 99' silverado LS 5.3 liter truck. It was hit in the parking lot by some fool at work and now all the body panels on the passenger side are dented. I took it to a dealer to get an estimate (since the guy has insurance) they quoted it at 7500 dollars worth of damage. I know that the truck doesn't actually book for much more than that. I tried to get there early enough (6-25-09) but i missed him and no one was home so I placed the key under the plant and left I told the police officer that I had made a call to him after dropping the key but the phone number to reach him was on my moms cell phone. I thought I did I couldn't remember because I came back a day later for the car. After I walked home I thought id leave it there a day so he could find the problem, since he gets home at 7pm. When I got there on 6-26-09 my car wasn't there and they said they never saw it there so i called the police to see if it was towed it wasn't and the key wasn't there either, police came over and took my statement but on the report he stated that the car was stolen on 6-26-09 and the phone number I used to call to tell them I was leaving the car there was written down wrong. The insurance company said that the inconsistencies where that I did not use my cell to make a phone call on the 6-24-09 or 6-25-09 I told them that i used my mothers cell phone in the oath recorded meeting they recorded my statement a week after i reported my car stolen and i failed to tell them i used my mothers cell phone but they didn't ask and I also told them I called when I placed the key under the plant but I was confused because I had called my cousin twice on 6-24-09. I never failed to make a payment on any of my bills and i have good credit score I'm in fact almost done with my car payment. When Suzu and Haraumi found the unexploded bomb, it went off right next to them. Haraumi died and Suzu lost her right arm. Suzu felt that she should have been the one who dies not Haraumi and if she has been standing the right side instead of the left, Haraumi might still be alive. Suzu also lost her ability to draw because she was right handed.

 6.     Movie-What happened Suzu’s sister, Sumi after the atomic bomb was dropped?

After the atomic bomb dropped, Sumi told Suzu that their mother died in the blast because she in town setting up for the festival when the bomb fell. Sumi said that their father died shortly afterward from being sick from the radiation poisoning. Sumi herself is seriously ill and has began to exhibit the side effects of radiation poisoning and will most likely die from it.  

 7.     Considering the relationships between woman and man in America, what is the biggest difference shown in this film? Is the relationship between Shusaku and Suzu (or Shusaku parents, Keiko and her in law family) to you or can you relate? Analyze and explain why you think so.

One of the biggest differences I noticed between Japanese married couples and American couples is the lack of affection show towards one another. In America, we are very affectionate and are always telling one another how much the other person means to us. American couples are very talkative and communication is huge part of our relationships. We share our values, dreams, goals, secrets, and life events with each other.  It was different to see Japanese couples not holding hands, kissing, saying I love you, or talking to each other in general. Very little conversation is spoken between Japanese couples. I have a hard time relating to this way of marriage because its very different from my own marriage.

 8.     What is advantage of anime describing the historical fact? Compare with “Eternal Zero”, write you opinion and the reasons why you think so. 

One advantage of anime describing historical facts is that they movie creators are able to better express on how person is feeling, what they are thinking, and how they view situations. For example, Suzu is a painter and in one scene where the bombs were going off over Kure, she saw them as bursts of colorful paint going off in the sky. However, in movies like Eternal Zero, its much harder to describe what is going on inside someone’s head or how they feel in those situations.

 9.     What Japanese key concepts that we have learned before (other than the current 3 concepts) did you see in this film? Compare with American culture and explain why you think so.

I think that chimoko was used a lot in this film. I noticed that minimal dialog was shown between the characters and most of the talking was Suzu and what she was thinking in her head.  Since Japanese value silence it used often in films. This is very different from American culture and films. As Americans, we see silence as awkward and it makes us uncomfortable so the use of silence is typically minimized in movies.
