Yeah haha @gyorslab! I haven't been as active on it in the past year as I have been in years prior since my job's taking up a lot of my energy but I really wanna try to do more OC stuff again so there might be more next year.

Debating going back and doing some lazy coloring for the T&Co pages so far and going forward. Since they kinda take so long anyway it doesn’t really feel like that big of an additional commitment to do? I did the first page to see how I like it and it’s kinda nice? Not sure I’m sold but it only took an additional 40 minutes so it’s not too bad… plus I did camp gnc like this… Idk do ppl think it adds anything?

So about doing gag comics… decided to continue with the intro one instead for now. Mostly cause I was halfway through a page and then decided I wanted to finish the scene. I’m not entirely sure if I’ll continue with this or switch

One of the things I wanna do this year is draw more Tilvar & Co however that looks (aiming for shorter gag comics to start). Anyway sketches to get the height feeling in and also some expression practice

I know I said I wanted to do it in 3 parts but uh at my current pace that will take waaayyy too long to share so like I’ll just share pages as I feel like it. First two pages are done! Yay!

Assorted Tilvar & Co sketches from the past month and a half. I really wanna draw more of the comic itself but haven’t been feeling the energy to actually draw a page.

Update about Tilvar & Co… my grandpa practically paid me to make it (paid for MediBang Paint without ads which was the big thing stopping me from making comics this past year and wouldn’t let me give him the money back). I am- SIGNIFICANTLY slower at making sketch comics than I used to be considering I used to make several a month and was even doing 6-8 pages a week when GNC was ongoing so it’s not going to be TOO soon, but it is happening!! And that’s super exciting to me!

I’m probably not going to line and color these as I was once hoping to as my old “hour a page” speed is now “hour for two-three panels” but if I get faster maybe I’ll revisit that. Hoping to do the introduction story that’s 23 pages long in 3 parts (7 pages, 10 pages, 6 pages) and then see if I’d rather do the episodic story format I dreamed of or go for shorter things based on how that goes.

Edit: I bought the Inra name book and gave most of them either Inra names or variations of Inra names (Lunaris, Hattie, and Nel do not have Inra names)

In order of appearance left to right: Transformations (Lunaris), Higher Knowledge (Exellim), Illusions (Vallen), Healing (Hattie), Summoning (Nimura), Nature (Teruman), Enchantments (Nel)

Minor characters that needed designing, the Heads of the magic schools at the place Murenniela and Vinduras studied at

Enchantment: Influencing objects and living things to act as you wish (includes flying objects and charms)

Nature: Control over nature and the elements (weather, plants, water, fire, etc)

Illusion: What it says on the package; illusory sound and images

Summoning: Bringing things into being that weren’t there before & teleportation

Higher Knowledge: Gain temporary access to knowledge you wouldn’t be able to know normally (includes fortune telling, language comprehension, etc)

Healing: What it says on the package but also it includes necromancy and life draining

Transformation: Changing something into something else be it living or inanimate

Note that the type of tool used isn’t like a school specific thing; you can do any magic with any tool they just have different methods of drawing energy from the world around you.

Working on sketching them some more just so I can get into the mood of maybe starting the comic. Also doing work on minor characters for it

Scooby Doo, Funky Phantom, Speed Buggy, Jabberjaw, Captain Caveman… what do these have in common? They are named after the mascot. Following this logic my series should be called Tilvar because Jason is basically their mascot

Two comic pages in one day after months of barely drawing a thing? How is this possible?

I bought a new iPad two weeks ago that lets me actually draw for more than 40 minutes without overheating and also am FINALLY invested in something that makes me want to draw fanart again. I’m hoping this means I’ll have the motivation to draw more Tilvar & Co too but for now I’m just nurturing any spark that comes. Even if that means fear of dog related pikmin comics.

Had a bit of a listen to music and doodle night and wanted to post this one where I actually drew these 4 next to each other instead of just on the same page ignoring heights.

I don’t usually animate like, anything, but felt like messing around a bit tonight with some of my more magical OCs.

For reference one of Vinduras’s abilities is to turn into a really small corgi. It’s supposed to be roughly softball sized but I think I made it a bit bigger than that.
