Alhaitham
It took Alhaitham about ten minutes to drag himself out of bed, his staggered footsteps audible through the thin walls of his apartment.
It took twenty for him to haul himself through his morning routine – water running somewhere in the distance and porcelain clattering against marble countertops as he washed his face and tried to work some life into himself. Alhaitham usually wasn’t so lethargic, but he’d had a rough week. There’d been a sudden influx of paperwork for the Akademiya’s sole scribe, and every second he didn’t spend buried under new legislation and requests for increased budging was, instead, dedicated to one of his many personal research projects. By the time he’d gotten home last night, it’d been all he could do to make sure you hadn’t starved to death and drag himself to bed.
He usually would’ve kept you waiting for a few more minutes, but an agitated grunt marked an end to his normal patterns. In a moment, he was braced against the doorway to his own study, his eyes narrowed half-hearted towards where you sat in his leather-padded chair, your feet propped on his desk. There was an book open in your lap – one of his, something about metaphysics and ley line abnormalities and how both tied into the Inazuman politics. He eyed it wearily before speaking, his voice still deep with exhaustion. “Where did you put my hearing aids?”
His tone was accusatory, his irritation visible. You put on your sweetest smile. “Where did you put my novellas?” you signed, thinking for a moment before adding, “Bitch?”
“They aren’t ‘novellas’, they’re—” He cut himself off with a scoff. “They’re filth. I don’t want you rotting your brain with smut.”
“The plots are very—”
“The plots are half-baked excuses for paper-thin characters to fondle each other in locations you can tell the author didn’t take the time to properly research and—” His gaze flickered to you, his frown deepening. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“You’ve read them?”
There was a long beat of silence.
Finally, he let out a labored sigh. “The dozen or so I couldn’t be bothered to throw away are in a cabinet underneath the kitchen sink. It’s locked – the code is your birthday. Now, where are my aids?”
“You fell asleep with them on last night,” you said aloud, abandoning his glorified textbook and pushing yourself to your feet. His hand shot to the side of his head, finding the metallic cuff only slightly displaced by having spent the better half of the night on his head. As you passed him, you paused, pressing a kiss into the corner of his scowl and pretending to ignore the muffled groan he let out in response.
Neuvillette
Of all the sights you thought you might see after arriving in your wonderous new nation, the Iudex of Fontaine standing over your drained bathtub with a look of potent remorse written across his expression was not one of them.
You’d imagined yourself strolling through the walls of the Opera Epiclese in vivid detail, been able to picture exactly what you might’ve seen standing below the Tower of Ipsissimus or above the bottomless pit that was the entrance to the Fortress of Meropide, but even after you’d found yourself in the smothering care of Monsieur Neuvillette, you never would’ve been able to conjure this sight. He usually insisted that you bathe together, going so far as to have an in-ground tub that could’ve easily been mistaken for a hot spring installed in his (until recently neglected) personal residence to better indulge the habit. Thankfully, the trial he’d been presiding over had run long today, and you’d been able to save yourself an hour of his calloused hands running over your body, of his eyes burning into your skin with a nearly inhuman focus. You knew he’d be disappointed. Irate, even, depending on how his trial swung.
You hadn’t expected him to be so… sulky about it.
Half-lidded eyes, a slight pout tugging at the corner of his lips as he lingered idly in the doorway between your shared bedroom and the in-suite bathroom. Steam and silence laid heavy in the air – the latter you were eventually forced to break as you fiddled with the hem of your robe. “I’m sorry,” you muttered, hoping more to break the tension than to make him think you were genuinely apologetic. “It was getting late, and I didn’t know when you were coming home. I didn’t think you’d take it so personally.” When he didn’t respond, you braced yourself for the worst. “If you’re angry, please say so. I… I’d rather get this over with now, if it’s all the same to you.”
His expression softened. He let out an airy sigh and, with only a moment of hesitation, closed the space between you. “I’m not angry.” A pair of lean arms wrapped around your waist, his face soon buried in the crook of your neck. You heard him inhale, and did what you could to suppress the shudder that ran up your spine at the thought of him basking in your scent. “I’ve just been… looking forward to it, I suppose. Your taste relaxes me.”
Immediately, you went rigid. “My… taste?”
“Mhm.”
“Neuvillette,” you started, very slowly, giving your own mind time to catch up to the dread slowly building in the pit of your stomach. “Have you been drinking my bathwater?”
He was quiet for a not inconsiderable amount of time.
Finally, he pulled away from you just far enough to speak. “…no?”
For your own sake, you decided to believe him.
Kaveh
“Kaveh.”
“Not now, treasure.”
“Go to bed.”
“I will, in another hour.”
“You need to get some sleep.”
“I’ve already told you – I’m fine.” He narrowed his eyes, expression contorted by concentration. “Knight to B4.”
“Kaveh,” you repeated, leaning across the table. “You were showing me your blueprints.”
“Oh.” He blinked several times, looking over the sheet of blue paper marked with chalk drawings and near indecipherable hand-writing. “Were you impressed?”
Your frown irked, but you swallowed back your exasperation and pushed yourself to your feet. Slowly, you took him by the hand and, when he failed to protest, guided him out of his own seat and towards the room you were usually restrained to, when he wasn’t home. He’d kept himself awake for the past two nights, every moment of the past forty-eight hours devoted to finishing his proposal for a wealthy commissioner’s summer mansion before its upcoming deadline and, now that the coffee had been drained from his system and his adrenaline had been given time to fade, he was practically a shell of a man – all dark circles and hunched posture and disheveled blonde hair.
Sleep deprivation was, by far, the worst thing he could inflict on himself. At least he was happy after he drunk himself into oblivion. This was just depressing; as miserable for him as it was for you.
With a dutifulness you shouldn’t have had to show to your lover-turned-stalker-turned-captor, you brought him to his bed and watched as he collapsed onto it, what little strength he had to hold himself up immediately dissolving. With a sigh, a roll of your eyes, you turned to leave, but a hand lashed out from the crumpled heap and caught you by the wrist. “Stay with me?” His voice was muffled by layers of sheets and blankets, but clear enough. “Please?”
Usually, his bids for affection were met with bitter neutrality or, on your worse days, spiteful condensation. Usually, you would’ve torn yourself out of his hold and made sure he knew that he’d ruined any chance of living out his little domestic fantasy the second he decided his obsession was worth more than your happiness. Usually, you would’ve hated him that much more for daring to ask.
But, he could barely hold his eyes open and when you failed to immediately recoil, the sloppiest, most lovesick smile you’d ever seen plastered itself across his lips. It was his turn to pull you forward, this time; to drag you onto his bed and into his chest. With a satisfied sigh, he slotted his chin against the dip of your shoulder and draped his arms around your waist – an old position. A relic of better times you’d never been strong enough to completely dicard. “When it’s time to draw up the plans for our home,” he mumbled, only half-audible. “I won’t so much as breathe until its perfect.”
You opened your mouth, but didn’t say anything.
He’d already fallen asleep.
Tighnari
He glanced once at the thick packet of ink-marked parchment you’d slammed in front of him before looking back to you, his expression disparaging. “And this is supposed to be…?”
“A custody agreement,” you answered, grinning. “Alhaitham put it together during his last visit.”
“We don’t have any kids.”
“It’s for Collei. If I ever leave you,” and, to be clear, you would be leaving him, as soon as you figured out how to get away from a man who poisoned your tea whenever you so much as suggested entertaining a future that didn’t include him, “I want weekends and summers.”
“She’s nineteen.”
“Which is why we’re letting her pick who she wants to spend holidays with.” You tapped the front page with your knuckles. “Honestly, dear, if you weren’t going to so much as read the documents, we could’ve scheduled this for another day.”
His ears twitched, his tail sweeping across the floor in irritation. “Even if this was legally binding – which, by the way, something assembled by a scribe would not be – I would never give you weekends. That’d be too much travelling for a girl in her condition, and I don’t want her to feel like she comes from a broken home. Moreover, according to Regulation #531 as passed by the Grand Sage last year, you would have to get Collei’s signature before—”
“Check page twenty-seven.”
You watched him scowl as he thumbed through the pages. A second later, his ears flattened against his scalp, and he took to muttering under his breath. “Traitor.”
“If you don’t want your aggression towards the dependent party used against you in court, I’d suggest you sign on page four, seventeen, and thirty-two.”
You left his villa half an hour later with a with a new imprint of his fangs on the side of your throat and a signed document in-hand.
Cyno
“You have kidnapped me.”
“Technically, I was only—”
“You’ve blackmailed me, imprisoned me, and tortured me.”
“You can’t still be hung up on—”
“You’ve branded me with your name, forced me into your bed, and made me play out all your delusional, fucked-up fantasies—” You took a deep breath, pursed your lips. “—but if you show up to a black-tie event wearing that, it will be the worst thing you’ve ever done to me.”
He looked down, as if considering his attire for the first time. He was in his usual uniform – which was to say, shirtless and barefoot, his hair windblown and a fine layer of sand still coating what little he was wearing. You could only be thankful his polearm wasn’t slung across his back, but you knew he’d make it past the door without it. “The way I dress has never been a problem before.”
“There’s a difference between hunting down rouge scholars and going to a banquet being held by a literal god. Archons, Lesser Lord Kusanali herself might be there.” You gasped, dragged your hands over your face. “Everyone who’s ever gone to the Akademiya will absolutely be there.”
For all his many faults, he could never stand to see you in pain. There was a brief delay, a moment of unsure shuffling, then his arms were wrapping around you, his chest slotting against your back has he pulled you against him. “It’ll be alright,” he muttered, speaking into your shoulder. “If anyone so much as attempts to insult you—no, if anyone tries to talk to you at all, I’ll strike them down in the blink of an eyes.”
His comfort was stale, but you forced yourself to relax. At least enough to speak. “You know,” you mumbled, letting your hands drift to your temples. “Dehya was hired by an up-and-coming scholar, a few weeks ago. I’m not sure how long her contract was, but there’s a chance we’ll see her tonight.”
There was a beat of silence, then another.
“Cyno?”
“I’ll change.”
Wriothesley
You could hear him trudging up the metallic stairs to his office; his footsteps heavy enough to drown out the soft music flowing out of his century-old gramophone. His head emerged from the curving staircase, first – his hair somehow more disheveled than its usual state of barely-tamed chaos – then his chest, his tie undone and his collar terribly mangled, as if he’d spent all day indulging the worst of his nervous habits. He was baring his teeth, his pale cheeks flushed with anger and his eyes narrowed into a pointed glare. It wasn’t quite the reaction you’d hoped for (in your wildest dreams, he would’ve managed to sink his beloved fortress before he ever reached you), but it was close enough.
You moved to stand, to greet him with the warm embrace he usually demanded, but he was already in front of you, already pinning you to the back of the lounge you’d been splayed across with a single fist planted less than a hair’s width above your shoulder. “You,” he growled, leaning in close enough for his breath to fan over your skin. “Do you know how many journalistsI had to deal with today? They were everywhere. I couldn’t go a step without tripping over some— over some glorified tabloid.”
“So, your meeting with Monsieur Neuvillette went well?” His scowl deepened, and you let out your most faux innocent laugh – a chiming, bubbling thing he’d never been able to stand. “You shouldn’t scowl like that, love. All those photographers will have to find a new model if you manage to give yourself frown lines.”
He jolted, but forced himself to shut his eyes, to let out a long, ragged breath. When he did face you again, he’d regained a degree of his composure – just enough to meet your smile with his own tight-lipped grin, more teeth than anything. “I’ll let you off easy if you tell me how you did it now. Before I decide it’d be faster to strangle an explanation out of you.”
“I didn’t break any rules, if that’s what you’re worried about.” You paused, folded your hands over your lap. “It was all thanks to our great and benevolent duke. Contacting people outside of the fortress has gotten so much more efficient ever since you decided prisoners should be able to send letters without administrative vetting.”
He buckled visibly, his shoulders falling as he lean towards you, his face soon buried in the dip of your shoulder. “You’re gonna be the death of me, sweetheart.” There was a raspy chuckle, a hand on your thigh, squeezing just hard enough for his anger to shine through the playfulness of the gesture. “I think I’ve earned the rest of the day off, and I think you’ve earned—”
The door to his office swung open before he could finish, a masculine voice calling up from the voice below only a moment later. “Your grace, t-there’s a reporter here to see you! She says she’s been told not to leave until she speaks to your partner!”
“That’ll be Charlotte,” you half-sung. “She seemed like such a nice girl in her letters. It’d be a shame to keep her waiting.”
When he failed to answer, you brought up both hands and cupped his face, cooing as you used your thumbs to quirk the corners of his mouth upward.
“Just remember to smile for the camera this time, alright?”

“HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE—
cyno, thoma, neuvilette, alhaitham, diluc, kaeya
what type of relationships you have with the genshin men? a serious relationship, situationship, fwb etc.
a/n: i rewrote this sm times cus i wasnt happy with how it turned out
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP—
cyno
✧ ok i see him as such an amazing lover tbh
✧ would want to become a dad bc he thinks dad jokes are the next step towardsa higher level of comedic excellency
✧ tighnari begs you not to let this man have a child
✧ but despite knowing his job could endanger you, he trusts in your ability to protect yourself
✧ would randomly buy you trinkets that remind him of you bc hes usually away for so long
✧ he keeps a little box of momentos that he snagged from dates with you. it consists of things like tickets from events you both went to and seashells from the time you both went to the beach.
✧ will not shut up about invocation tcg
✧ almost went insane when you jokingly told him you didn't want to play invocation tcg with him
✧ when you do silly things he joins you without question
you laid down your living room floor with your hands outstretched towards the ceiling. you shut your eyes as you soaked in the feeling of the ceiling fan gently blowing wind. you heard a pair of footsteps approaching, eventually stopping next to you. you pry your eyes open to see cyno looming over you. "what are you doing?" he asked, gesturing to your limp figure. you prop yourself up on your elbows and stared back at cyno, "i wanted to feel like a leaf." you replied. cyno stared at you for a moment, before walking towards the windows. he reels the curtains back and shoves the window panels open, allowing a gush of wind in. intrigued, you stand up and watched as cyno began making his way back to you. "what are you doing?" you question cyno who was standing behind you now. cyno reaches under your arms and swiftly lifts you up, earning a shriek from you. "pretending that i'm a tree."
neuvilette
✧ probably a little busy for a relationship but tries to make it work
✧ i feel like befriending the melusines is a easy way into his heart lol
✧ you had a small interaction with neuvilette one day, probably bumping into him and he helped you onto your feet
✧ the melusines saw this and their minds started PLOTTING
✧ they bothered you and neuvilette every hour of the day for 2 months straight about a 'blind date'
✧ when you both finally agreed (the melusines lied to both of you that the other had agreed to get you to agree) you almost passed out when you realised who he was
✧ it worked out though, because now you're in his kitchen throwing apples at his head
✧ he gives out amazing advice too
✧ ah, what a man
standing at the entrance of the cafe, the melusines snicker and giggle. they nudge your calves, signalling you to enter. hesitantly, you step foot into the quiet cafe. you looked around, trying to find the guy the melusines have been trying to set you up with for the past 2 months. you nervously searched, looking for a man who was sitting by himself. when your eyes landed on a secluded seat by the windows, you almost fainted. with languid footsteps, you walked towards neuvilette, who had noticed you when you walked in. neuvilette stood and pulled out your seat, "have a seat," you gave him a small smile as he settled back in next to you. "i remember you, i bumped into you a few months back," neuvilette said, eyebrows raised in amusement. that's when an epiphany hit the both of you, "oh." he mumbled. "that's why the melusines kept pestering me," you giggled, taking note of a few colourful animal ears poking out from the nearby window. "well, let's at least entertain their wishes for a little." neuvilette nods at your request, flipping open the menu.
thoma
✧ 10/10 lover boy
✧ he wants a established relationship
✧ when he first confessed he was a MESS
✧ dreams of settling down with kids in inazuma with his lover.
✧ i feel like he would appreciate scenic dates more than dinners and shopping dates.
✧ he wants children in the future
✧ SUCH A FAMILY MAN
✧ he gets insecure about not being good enough for his s/o
✧ but he tries his best to build a future w you!
the streets of inazuma were lively and full of colour, the evening sun settling in the background. your footsteps blended in seamlessly with thoma's, with your hand laid comfortably in his callous palms. "ow-" a quiet voice rang behind you and thoma. shuffling is heard as you turn to see a child laying face down on the concrete pavement. releasing your hold on thoma, you stepped closer to the boy. soft hazel eyes looked back at your own, glistening in the light. a smile etched itself onto your face as you extend a hand towards the boy, he hesitantly takes it as you gently lift him onto his feet. "are you okay?" you ask. the boy shyly nods, a wince escapes his lips just as quickly. glancing down at his limped foot, a small gash on his knee starts bleeding. with swift movements, you grab a napkin to gently dab at his wound. spectating from behind was an awestruck thoma, something felt so comforting about the interaction. without a silver of doubt and unequivocally, "she is the one."
SITUATIONSHIP—
alhaitham
✧ this is a hill i will forever die on
✧ he's so rational.. would make a pros and cons list about dating
✧ definitely tells you "sorry, i love you but this will never work. you need someone who can be there for you."
✧ he thinks that with his work and your life, it would clash and create conflict
✧ whenever you argue about
✧ everyone has no idea what is going on, tighnari and cyno thinks he's dumb and kaveh thinks you're dumb
✧ kaveh doesn't understand why you stay with a prick like alhaitham
✧ he truly likes you but his heart will forever lie in his love for his study and craft.
✧ he wouldn't tell you to wait for him because he's calculated the optimal time for dating and it's undefined
✧ sadly, he will never have enough time for another lover
alhaitham's embrace flushed against your weary skin. his room sat too silent yet too loud. the only sound you heard was the gentle beating of althaitham's heavy heart. his hands cradles your own, "i don't understand why you keep distancing yourself," a raspy whisper falls from your lips. alhatham instinctively draws your body closer to his own, his face moves towards the valley of your neck. feathery light touches grazes your forearm. "this was what i was worried about. you would be unhappy with how absent i am," the words hang coarsely in the air, cold to the touch but burning in your heart. you breathed in sharply. “this is why a relationship would be a bad idea.”
anger rose in your throat, “that's different. you're absent now because you're choosing to avoid me. you’re being selfish.” breaking free from his embrace, you turn and pin your fiery eyes against his emerald ones. however, he could only reply with a solemn look, “the probability this will turn out well is zero,” he replied. alhaitham knows how probability works, it can never truly be zero, but it can also never be ensured that this would turn out well. alhaitham is just a man that wouldn't take that risk.
diluc
✧ this man has no time for lovers (and way too traumatised)
✧ but does the occasional fancy date
✧ the type to leave you hanging for 3 business days
✧ makes it up to you by buying flowers after realising his mistake
✧ all in all he doesnt see this as a long term thing, so dont get too disappointed
✧ but he also can't take the feeling of losing you because he can't stomach the idea of losing someone he loves
✧ it's a hot and cold goose chase
✧ you'll be a happy for a week then he ghosts you for another week
curling in the comfort of your couch, you sulkily wolf down a bag of snacks. it has been officially 72 hours since the last time you heard back from diluc. the red headed man had disappeared without a word three days ago. after a night out, with a promise to pick you up the next day. it has been well over the decided time, and diluc is once again, a no show! a loud knock is heard against your door, there's a silent pause before another loud bang was heard. you pull your weight and drag yourself to the door. in front, diluc stood, a rare display of panic in his eyes, a bouquet of flowers clumsily clasped between his arm. you slant against the door frame, disappointed eyes stare back at his. "im so sorry, i just got so caught up on works and," he uncharacteristically fumbles over his words, guilt eats away at him as he eyes your sunken and tired eyes. you nod, looking at your feet. "i figured," there's a moment of ghostly silence. diluc hesitantly reaches forward, lightly resting his palm on your shoulder, testing the waters. when you don't push him away, firm arms wrap around your head, pulling you into his chest. a chaste kiss on your forehead, diluc gently rubs your back, "i'll make it up. i promise."
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS—
kaeya
✧ bsfr this man is too traumatised for love but would chase the adrenaline of it
✧ he doesn't want something a hassling as a situationship, no strings attached!
✧ he's still really cordial with you tho, treats you well
✧ buthonestly.. don’t get too attached or expect much, mans has been through the wringer of life
✧ lisa suspects something going on between you two but has no evidence to prove it
✧ amber just thinks you both are secretly dating
the feeling of kaeya’s rough arms clinging to your abdomen shakes you awake, suddenly realising that you’re wound up in his bed. again. the movement makes the male beside you stir, he groggily props himself up on his elbows, rubbing his temples, “morning, y/n. slept well?” a grin spreads across his face as he grabs and pulls you back onto the mattress. “great, actually. dreamt about monstadt without kaeya alberich,” you joke. kaeya rolled his eyes, gently punching your shoulder. “how awfully boring, who would accompany you to insufferable events then?” kaeya teases, poking at your sides. despite how domestic it all felt, deep down you both knew that by 12pm, these memories would slip into another void along with the other many escapades.

It’s The Way He… || #2
Tumblr media
Characters: Alhaitham, Cyno, Dainsleif, Heizou, Itto, Kaveh, Xiao, Wanderer
Summary: Just cute/heartwarming/breath-taking things he does <3
Genre: Fluff + Snippets
CWs: gn!reader (you/your), injuries (Cyno), petnames (my love; Kaveh),
a/n: did a pt. 2 because the last one got lots of love and I though they were really cute so I wanted to do some others <3
|| Pt. 1 ||
Tumblr media
Alhaitham
It’s the way Alhaitham props his chin on you - your head, shoulder, just whatever is easiest at that moment - as you read. His eyes, a beautiful mix of green and orange, will skim the page you're on. It's no quantum physics or retelling of historic events, but if you like it then he'll give it a chance. Just, don't be too upset when he asks you to read faster, he wants to know what happens next is all.
"Are you almost done? I've finished the page. What? What's that look for?"
Cyno
It’s the way Cyno is so serious as he dresses your wounds, a stark contrast to the genlteness of his touch. It doesn’t matter if it’s a paper cut, a rash, burn or a gash from battle, it’ll receive the same level of attention and care from the general. If he had it his way he’d get Tighnari to fix you right up, because at least Cyno knows you’re in good hands, but that can’t always happen, so he’s your next best. In a way that’s alright, at least this way he can personally see to it that you’re looked after.
“This will sting a little, sorry, but it has to be cleaned. I’ll try to lessen the pain as much as I can and finish quickly. If you’d like, I can tell you some jokes to take your mind off of it?”
Dainsleif
It’s the way Dainsleif never forgets the little details about yourself. You could mention it once and he’s already committed it to memory, he's committed you to his memory. For 500 years he's walked alone, maybe not always physically, but it still felt like there hasn't been anyone with him. You are the first connection he's had in so long, and even if he's doomed to live long past you, the image of everything that creates you, he’ll will himself to remember for as long as he can, because just the thought of you makes him feel like he's alive once more.
“You told me once that the stars brought you peace. I thought it’d be nice to look out at them tonight, for they too do the same for me. However, if I was to be truthful, you, without a shadow of a doubt, bring me the most peace.”
Heizou
It’s the way Heizou leaves a riddle on the kitchen counter for you every so often before he leaves for work or errands. There’ll be clues scattered around the house for you to find as well, each one becoming more cryptic than the last. Of course, he knows you well enough to not make them so tough you can’t figure it out. He wants you to receive your prize after all~
“Did you figure out today’s riddle?” … “Heh, that’s correct, I knew you’d get it! Now, come and claim your reward. I think you’ll really enjoy it this time~”
Itto
It’s the way Itto runs up to you the instant he sees you in the streets of Inazuma, arms ready to grab hold and lift you as high as he can or as high as you allow. He'll even do a little spin with you he's that happy to see you. It doesn't matter if you’re alone or with someone, he is a loud and proud oni who shows off the person that owns his heart!!
"There you are my partner-in-crime, my beetle battle buddy, my number one! Say, if you're not busy how about you tag along with me? I just found this awesome raman place that's pretty cool if I do say so myself. How about we check it out?"
Kaveh
It’s the way Kaveh readily helps you with your outfit and any bells and whistles that go with it. As a renowned architect there are times where he’s invited to formal events, and you are his first go to for a plus one. And where there’s formal events there’s formal attire, and the hassle of making sure everything is perfect. Be it a tie or some piece of jewelry, Kaveh and his keen eye for detail are there to help attain that perfection.
“Ah, here, let me help. Sometimes, it takes another pair of eyes to catch if something’s off. Of course, you look stunning regardless my love. There, shall we head off?”
Wanderer
It’s the way Wanderer stumbles to match your pace. For as long as he's lived he's moved at his own pace, never once slowing or playing catch-up for others. For you though, he'll stop to admire the things he's overlooked due to his immortality, he'll race to make sure you don't run too far from him that he can't raech you. No longer does he run away from those he loves, now he runs alongside them.
"What? You stopped for a flower? It's pretty? Please, I can think of many more things that are prettier than some flower, but I suppose we have some time. Who am I to stop you from doing what your little heart desires."
Xiao
It’s the way Xiao carries with him the little gifts you give. May it be a flower, a picture, a letter or another object of some kind, the yaksha will have it tucked into the safest pocket he has. To you it may have just been something you picked up or made while thinking of him, but for Xiao, it’s his good fortune charm. Something that has a tangible weight to it, his constant reminder that someone is waiting for him back home. However, he can never bring himself to tell you this, covering up the why he brings it everywhere with some barely strung together excuses or redirections.
“Of course I’d take it with me, why would I not? Huh? You think I’d have no real use for it? Tsk, you still don’t know the ways of the adepti, do you?”

-> how the hsr and genshin men act in a photobooth
Tumblr media
The type that goes all out
Sampo, Luka, Venti, Heizou, Kaveh, Itto, Childe, Kaeya
These guys will make the most out of the photobooth, going all out on poses, props and stickers. He'll be goofy with you, doing things like giving you rabbit ears or smushing his cheek against yours right in front of the camera.
You two would be stuck in the photobooth for a while because he won't get out until he's gone through all the poses and props that he wanted, enjoying the fond memories that you two have created.
10/10 photobooth partner!!
Does his best
Dan Heng, Cyno, Diluc, Xiao, Albedo
Will be incredibly awkward, blinking when the camera flashes, and overall unsure of how to naturally do a fun pose. The best he can do would be holding up casual peace signs with a nonchalant look on his face. They would try to smile, but it would look so forced that he's better off without it, LOL. If you want to induce a nice expression on him, then give him a quick kiss and he'll have the cutest blush on his face for the picture, hehe.
Smiles the whole time
Jing Yuan, Luocha, Welt, Zhongli, Ayato, Baizhu, Kazuha, Tighnari
These folks would smile brightly the entire time! Initially, they'd be smiling for the photo, but when they see your exhilarated face as you enjoy these moments taking photos with him, he can't help but soften his gaze and direct his smile towards you, falling in love all over again.
So when the photo strip comes out, you'll notice how the first photo will show him looking into the camera, but then the rest will reveal him admiring you the entire time, with such love and tenderness in his gaze. It's great that it's caught on camera because now you'll finally know how he looks at you everyday 😌
Doesn't pose or smile
Blade, Dainsleif, Alhaitham
They will be very boring with it, simply looking into the camera with an indifferent look despite your smiling face and happy expression beside him.
Yet, when you press a kiss to his cheek for the next photo, intending for it to be a cute and innocent shot, he'll lowly grumble, "If you're going to kiss me, do it right". He'll suddenly turn to you, firmly grabbing your chin to face him before going in to devour your lips. And he wouldn't tear away from you until the camera stopped flashing.
You wanted to go to the photobooth to capture memories right? Well now you've got some great things to remember, like the feeling of his lips, the clashing of each other's teeth, and the way his tongue danced with yours, and you have it all on a photostrip to look back at 🤭
Would be shy
Gepard, Gorou, Thoma
He would try his best to match your energy and poses in the photobooth, although he might be shy or hesitant about it. He'll constantly ask if he's doing it right, and would almost always have such a vibrant blush on his face. It'd make him look all the more adorable.
CLASSIC SCARAMOUCHE
Tumblr media
He deserved to be in a category all on his own
Will intentionally be a little shit and not smile. Instead, he'll stick his tongue out at the camera and give a "blegh" face (like he does in his idle animation). If you try to match his expression, he'll huff or lowly chuckle, but deep down he finds it so endearing. He'd love it so much that he'll end up indulging you in the poses and props you'd like in return, claiming that he "just felt like it" or doing it because "he knows he can do them better than you". In truth, all he really wants to see is your smile and take this time to feel close to you

Summary: After learning that there is a way to actually win against Cyno, Sethos finally takes his chance to try!
Lots of tickling descriptions hehe
Words: 3k+
Tumblr media
Sethos was not, by all means, ashamed of losing against Cyno for Hermanubis’ power. If he was completely honest, some part of him told him that he had no chance against General Mahamatra himself, so he was not surprised by the result of the duel, if anything, he felt honored for fighting with him and seeing Cyno's friends dueling with and for him. Having good companions, people you can trust and who always give you a hand was very important in the desert.
Furthermore, being recognized as the heir of the Temple of Silence clan by Cyno and promising a new alliance with the city of Sumeru, was more than he could have imagined... and also gave him excuses to visit Avidya Forest frequently. There were so many things to do, see and eat and so many interesting people that he could talk to for hours on end.
Many of his new friends were there too. Cyno, Tighnari, the traveler and even that interesting person he had met at the Akademiya. So he always got very excited when he was called by Cyno for important meetings, which usually consisted of him teaching him how to play Genius Invokation and Sethos failing miserably in every single game.
“You need to practice some more,” Cyno said, beating Sethos for the fifth consecutive time. “Don't you play in the Temple of Silence?”
Sethos sighed deeply, automatically throwing his cards to Cyno for him to shuffle them. “We, sadly, don't have much time to play like this. We have things to do, you see.”
His lips spread in a mischievous smile, and although Tighnari and the traveler laughed behind their hands, Cyno simply huffed out a laugh through his nose and rolled his eyes with a little smile in his mouth.
“I see. Good thing you're now in Avidya Forest, so get ready to practice a lot.”
Sethos whined. "Technically, we're in the Traveler's wolrd..." He knew that the general wouldn't let him leave or stop the game until he defeated him at least once.
“Cyno, you're being too harsh on Sethos,” Tighnari said, propping his chin in the palm of his hand to look at Cyno with that dreamy expression that always made Sethos blush and look away. He was sitting to Cyno's right at the four-sided table. Aether right in front of Tighnari while Paimon floated around them.
“Yeah.” Paimon nodded. “Sethos has had his head in the sand his entire life, even a game of Genius Invokation is too much for him.”
“P-Paimon…”
All three men around him turned their heads away, trying to contain their laughter. Sethos felt his cheeks heating up and he fanned his face with his hand.
“L-Listen, I've been attending to my… duties and- and Genius Invokation isn't exactly a popular game in the desert…”
Cyno cleared his throat. “Anyways, the next round is about to start.”
“You got this, Sethos!” Aether cheered, but Sethos whined loudly as he saw Cyno making the first move.
There was a time when Sethos won, but they had to play about twenty times and Sethos had only won because the traveler had tickled Cyno to distract him.
Setho chuckled to himself and Cyno looked at him with narrowed eyes.
Who would've thought General Mahamatra was a ticklish person? Certainly not him, yet again he had never been too fixed on tickling someone, or being tickled himself. That until he met this bunch of interesting people. He still remembered that special training he had with Aether the first time he showed the world inside his teapot, but he still hadn't had the chance to give it a try… could it be that tonight was the night?
“Hey, tell you what.”
“Hmm?” Cyno mumbled, barely paying attention.
“Let's have… another kind of duel.” That caught everyone's attention and four pairs of curious eyes landed on him. “If you win this duel… We'll keep playing Genius Invokation until I finally win,” he said with a grin and Cyno arched an eyebrow. “However,” Sethos continued. “If I win, then you'll give me a break for at least the rest of the night.”
“What kind of duel?” Aether voiced the question in Cyno's expression, his golden eyes shining in wonder.
Sethos chuckled, “you'll see once we start. We won't need weapons or anything, just our bare hands,” he said, lifting both his hands and wiggling his fingers, trying to give a clue to Cyno, but the only one who seemed to understand was Aether who smiled knowingly at Sethos. “So?”
Cyno pondered for a bit, his eyes traveling from the cards to Sethos face, then back to the cards and then to Tighnari's face.
“I think a break sounds good,” Tighnari said, his tail swinging lazily from side to side. “You both have been at this for who knows how many-
“This is the sixth time and I think I'll lose again,” Sethos said and this time even Paimon laughed.
Cyno nodded. “Fine. I hope you don't mind us using your yard for this duel,” he said kindly to Aether and the traveler shook his head with a smile.
“Paimon’s so excited to see what's this all about!”
Sethos had been feeling excited too, but as they got up from the table and walked towards the traveler's large yard, he couldn't help but feel nervous. Aether had told him that this was a good way to beat Cyno, but what if he lost too? It wasn't a thing of honor or anything like that, his brain just couldn't stand that game anymore!
“Eep!” Sethos jolted when he felt a poke to his ribs from behind, turning around, he was glad it was Aether. “Y-You surprised me, traveler.”
“Did you finally decide to do it?”
Sethos nodded softly. “Yeah, my head is starting to hurt. Let's see if your special training was of any use.”
Aether laughed. “I wonder too, you lost far too many times,” he reminded him and Sethos laughed when he felt a squeeze to his side. “Just remember all the spots I told you about and do not let him pin you.”
Whoa, it really sounded like this was going to be even more dangerous than the Rite of Duels back in the Temple of Silence. Sethos nodded as he gulped, finally planting himself in front of Cyno while Aether, Tighnari and Paimon looked at them from the side.
“So? Is it like a wrestling match?”
“Y-Yeah, something like that. At the count of three, okay? One… two!”
“Ack! W-Wha– hey! S-Sehehethos!”
Sethos almost froze when he heard Cyno's giggles as his hands latched to the General's sides and started to squeeze them gently, but firmly just as Aether had told him.
“Pff– a tickle fight?” Tighnari asked in disbelief, yet a little smile still pulled at his lips.
“L-Like Paimon said,” she chuckled softly, floating beside Aether. “Sethos has had his head too deep in the sand…”
“Place your bets, everyone,” Aether chirped. “I bet Sethos will win.”
“No way,” both Paimon and Tighnari said and by the looks of it, it seemed like they were right.
“AHAHAHA! n-nohoHOHo!”
It wasn't Cyno's laughter, but Sethos. He definitely understimated Cyno's abilities. Aether made it look way too easy and Sethos was extremely ticklish! How on earth did he even think that was a good idea?! He didn't know how, but he was able to tickle Cyno for exactly five seconds before he was thrown to the soft grass, pinned by one of Cyno's knees against his lower back and both the General's hands clawing at the back of his ribs.
“Heh, you really thought you'd win against me?” Cyno spoke over Sethos laughter and the poor heir could only kick his legs and flail his arms around. “Did the traveler tell you about this? I'm sure he'll learn his lesson later.”
Poor traveler! Sethos somehow gathered enough strength to lift his body, successfully pushing Cyno off him and causing him to fall butt first against the grass. The general didn't have time to get up before Sethos was straddling his waist, his hands vibrating at the exposed stomach. Cyno threw his head back with a cackle and he tried to fight Sethos hands, but Sethos was agile and he laughed, trying to sound teasy, but just sounding nervous.
“H-How’s that, hmm? General Mahamatra is seriously so ticklish,” Sethos teased, one of his hands clawing at the middle of Cyno's tummy, around his belly button while the other wrapped around his hip, trying to hold him in place, but also tickling him slightly. “You gotta make sure no one knows your weakness, or else you'll get in trouble~!”
“S-Stohohohop or Ihihihi- AHAHAHA! WAHAHAIT!”
Sethos jolted just as hard as Cyno did when he slipped one of his fingers inside his navel. He was surprised by the nearly hysterical laughter he was able to evoke from Cyno as he lightly tickled his navel, simply wiggling his finger around inside the little spot. Sethos giggled softly, tickling really was fun.
Feeling extra mischievous, Sethos stopped momentarily so he could place one hand over Cyno's stomach, his thumb and index finger stretching his bellybutton nicely as his palm held him somehow in place.
“Any last words?” He asked with a big grin as his finger wiggled at Cyno.
Through slightly teary eyes, Cyno looked at Sethos, a silly smile pulling at his lips. “D-dohon't you dahare or I'll- SEHEHETHOS!”
After teasing the spot gently by simply circling it with the tip of his finger, Sethos finally slipped it back in it, swirling and wiggling and vibrating. Cyno's laughter came out unrestrained, loud and panicky; he jolted and squirmed and desperately pulled at Sethos arms, but Sethos had the upper hand, until he didn't.
In the blink of an eye, Sethos was facing the vast sky inside the Serenitea Pot and Cyno was straddling him, grabbing Sethos’ hands and pulling them under his knees.
“N-Noho! Wahahait! Lihihisten! P-Plehehease!” Sethos begged, giggling although Cyno hadn't started tickling him yet, but he didn't have to wait too long as Cyno's fingers quickly did a little taunt above Sethos’ torso before they descended against his ribcage.
Sethos threw his head back with a tirade of loud cackles. His arms desperately pulled at his trapped hands, but Cyno was firmly pinning him down as his hands roamed freely across his ribcage. Those mean hands traveled from the highest set of ribs, so close to his armpits, to the lowest ones, pinching, poking, prodding and rubbing everything and anything on their way.
Sethos was nearly seeing stars. Aether tickled him so much during their trainings, but never this viciously. Cyno was determined to win… even if it meant tickling Sethos to death?
Firm, but gently fingers rubbed at each bone and space inbetween and Sethos was almost sure Cyno was using some kind of trick, (perhaps his vision?), because there was no way his ribs could tickle like that, was it?
Cyno chuckled, “were you saying? Let's hope the people of the Temple of Silence don't know their leader is this ticklish,” he teased playfully. “Or else you could get in trouble.”
Sethos shook his head, unable to speak as Cyno started to count his ribs out loud: one, two, four– oh no, I meant three, let me start again.
One, two, three… what was the next number? Oh, four right. Let me do it again.
I'm not sure I counted properly, what do you think, Sethos? I'll start over just to make sure.
Sethos, where's the twelveth rib? I don't seem— to find it… can you stop squirming? Also, move your arms away, I can't count like this.
Aether's words resounded in his head: do not let him pin you. Now he understood why.
Sethos’ laughter only grew panickier the more Cyno tickled his poor, sensitive ribs. Tears of laughter already claimed place clinging to his lashes and his flushed cheeks hurt for smiling so hard. If he didn't stop Cyno, he was definitely going to pass out and be forced to keep playing Genius Invokation!
Growling between his laughter, Sethos was able to raise his hips, making Cyno stop right away with a gasp as he reached forward to stop himself from collapsing above Sethos. Sethos wrapped his arms around Cyno's waist and pushed him to the side, both of them rolling a couple of times before Sethos pinned Cyno on his belly.
Immediately, thumbs dug into the muscle of Cyno's lower back, rubbing deep circles and causing him to giggle brightly and kick his feet as he tried to reach behind him to capture Sethos’ hands, his spine arching up as he shook from one side to the other. Meanwhile Sethos felt like he was trembling after that brutal attack to his ribs, his bones still tingling with tickly aftershocks.
He fluttered his fingers up Cyno's spine and dragged his fingertips down that tender spot near his sides, but not quite. He then pinched and squeezed at his lower sides and that place at his kidney area and focused in every spot that made Cyno laugh the brightest. For example, massaging his shoulder blades would make Cyno snort and placing rapid pokes up his spine would make him shriek.
The back of his neck was fairly sensitive as well, Cyno would throw his head back as best as he would when Sethos wiggled his fingers there and snorty giggles would fill the air. The back of his ears was also-
“AHAHAHA! CY-CYNOHOHO!”
“Cy-Cy-yehehehes.”
“Ugh,” three beings in the sides rolled their eyes, but no one noticed as Cyno had managed to get a hold of Sethos’ knees and was squeezing them.
Sethos laughed, squeezing Cyno's waist to make him stop, but Cyno was persistant, his hands moving to squeeze at his thigh and Sethos couldn't stand it. He stood up and tried to make a run for it, but he was able to take two strides before he felt Cyno's fingers closing around one of his ankles, making him fall face first.
“Aaaaghhh! AHAHAHA!”
Sethos banged his fists on the ground as Cyno took a seat on his shins and started to squeeze and massage the back of his knees. Sethos screamed with laughter, how was that spot ticklish?! He tried to kick his legs, but Cyno was squeezing his own around him, limiting his movements as his fingers wiggled in the hollows in the back of Sethos’ knees; his thumbs massaging the muscle, making Sethos shriek with laughter.
“How do you make a knee laugh, Sethos?”
“Oh Archons.”
“He won't say it, right?”
“I think he will.”
“You tickle its funny bone.” Sethos broke into loud laughter as Cyno tickled both the front and the back of one of his knees. “Very funny, right? I'm glad you appreciate my jokes.”
Sethos shook his head, desperately trying to crawl away from underneath Cyno, and shrieking again when now his other knee was under attack. He never knew knees could be ticklish, but of course he had to learn this fact first hand, huh?
“Uff-!” Cyno quickly moved off Sethos when a leg almost hit his groin. Sethos stood up quickly, but then slumped again when his eyes caught Cyno's foot. General Mahamatra read his intentions, and tried to escape, but he was already tired and uncoordinated, so it was not difficult for Sethos to catch one of his ankles, dragging him towards him.
“Where are you going, General? The duel is not over until one of us asks for mercy," Sethos said breathlessly and with a huge smile on his face. "Are you suddenly scared? You didn't want me to tickle your feet? What a shame~.”
Sethos straddled Cyno's ankles, pressing them together between his legs and his blunt nails quickly went to work all over the soles, skittering up under his toes and down to the hollows of his ankles. Cyno became almost hysterical; his toes curled tightly, but Sethos easily pushed them back on one foot with one hand and used the other to scratch at the sensitive skin under and between them.
“SEHEHETHOS! Hohohold ohohon!”
“Do you yield? I will only stop if you give up!” Setho yelled over Cyno's loud laughter, his evil fingers not giving the Mahamatra the chance to catch his breath as Sethos tickled his sole mercilessly.
Cyno was nearly howling behind him, squirming like a little fish out of water as Sethos’ fingers skittered across the balls of Cyno's feet and then to his arches and next to his toes that made Cyno scream with laughter.
“Your toes are so ticklish,” Sethos commented, not really teasing, but if Cyno felt it that way, that was a plus. “How do you go around life being this sensitive?”
Sethos was not expecting an answer from the cackling Cyno, he actually thought he was going to give up at any second now… until he felt a hand grabbing his hip.
“EEK!” Sethos' immediately rose to his feet, brushing his hip to get rid of the tingly sensation that touch caused. “Th-Thahat s-spot is off- off limits!”
Although breathless and tearing up, Cyno smirked, also getting on his trembling feet. “You n-never said anything… haah… about ‘off-limit spots’.”
Sethos gulped before he started to run away from Cyno; he wanted to say that he did run a lot, but only after three steps, Cyno was catching and throwing him back to the grass before straddling Sethos' thighs.
“No!” Sethos' shrieked, laughing as he tried to grab Cyno's hands that were taunting him. He wiggled his fingers high, slowly lowering them towards Sethos' hips. “W-Wahahait up! Y-You must have a w-weak spot, s-so–”
“I do,” Cyno nodded, his hands finally descending to Sethos' hips. “It's a shame, for you of course, that you don't know where that is.”
Sethos couldn't care less about what Cyno was saying at that moment. He was too busy laughing his head off and desperately trying to push Cyno's hands away as the General pinched and squeezed at his hips. Sethos howled in hysterics, he arched his spine and tilted his head back, overwhelmed by the electrifying tickly touches climbing from his hips to his brain. He couldn't do anything against those evil fingers exploring his most ticklish spot.
“Hehe, how's this, Sethos? Is it ticklish? Look how much you're dancing, you're definitely loving this, huh?”
Sethos shook his head, squealing and squeaking between hysterical peals of laughter. “NOHOT THEHERE! AH! P-PLEHEHEASE!” He begged, tears falling the sides of his face. “STAHAHAP! P-PLEHEHEASE!”
“Of course,” Cyno said, chuckling softly. “You just gotta admit you give up. Easy, right?”
“N-Nohoho! J-Juhust– AHAHAFIHIHINE! Fihihine, I gihihive up! PLEHEHEASE!”
Cyno stopped, lifting his hands off the other's body and Sethos went limp, laughing and giggling and rubbing at his hips to get rid of the residual feeling of Cyno's fingers.
“I hope you're ready to properly learn how to play Genius Invokation, Sethos,” Cyno said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking down at Sethos with a smirk. “I won't show mercy this time.”
Sethos let out a whiny giggle, letting his head fall against the grass. “N-Nehext tihihime… I'll- I'll definitely wihin.”
“Mhmm, of course you will,” Cyno chuckled, extending his hand for Sethos to take. “Now let's go, you won't leave Avidya Forest until you win against me at least five times.”
Sethos whined, grabbing Cyno's hand and standing on shaky legs. He looked over at Aether and shrugging his shoulders, he smiled sheepishly.
Next time for sure!
BONUS SCENE
“You owe us, Traveler,” Paimon and Tighnari said with a smug grin and Aether whined.
“I really thought Sethos would win… he still has a long way to go, it seems.”
“To be fair, it's hard to win tickle fights against Cyno,” Tighnari mentioned, shrugging his shoulders as the three of them made their way back to the table where another Genius Invokation duel was taking place
“I can win against him.”
“Haha, yes, but after how many tries was it?” Paimon teased and she and Tighnari laughed at him.
Yeah, Sethos really had a long way to go!

Unwilling Help ( Wanderer x child!Reader)
A/N Here we go! Hopefully this is good, I used few dialogue prompts I was able to find in Pinterest to write this, I'm nervous y'all. I really want to do a tighnari one as well but I'm not sure what it could be about 🤔
Tumblr media
“Big Brother! I brought you some tea!” The child says smiling nervously, placing the drink nearby
“What did you do?” The wanderer asks suspiciously
“Nothing!”
“That’s never the case with you; you have done something,” he says, jumping down from the tree he was perched on, the wind catching his fall
“Well…
“Spit it out”
“I might have told Nahida that you would be willing to help prepare the theater for tomorrow’s act…”
“….”
“…Big Brother?”
“Come here,” he orders, pointing his finger down and gesturing to the spot right in front of him
“Why?”
“Just come over here,” he says with a tone of annoyance
“No, you’re going to hit me.”
“I promise I won't hit you if you do as you’re told.”
They shake their head, not moving from their spot
His violet eyes narrow at the small child as he stomps towards them and grabs them by the ear
“Ow! Ow! That hurts Big Brother!”
“Then you should have done as you were told,” he mutters.
“What did you tell her I would be doing?
“Ow, I told her you would be willing to help the actors by putting up the background props.”
“You promised my help without asking me first?”
“On a scale from one to ten, how mad are you at me right now?”
“I’m hovering somewhere in the high thirties,” he said as he tightened his grip
“Enough to consider adding one more sin to the tally.”
“Ow, ow! I’m sorry!”
“you should be,” he grumbled, letting go of the child
“You got me into this. Now you will come with, so you can also work.”
They rub their ear, frowning
“But I wanted to go play…”
He gives them another scathing glare
“What was that?”
They squeak in fright as the attention is brought to them once again
“Nothing! I said that I would help you!”
“Good,” he says before turning and walking away
“Come along,” he orders
They quickly follow after them, still rubbing their ear
“You’re so mean, big brother..”
“And you’re a nuisance,” he quickly quips back
He glances at their expression and rolls his eyes
“Did you eat anything today?”
“I forgot to.”
“Of course you did,” he grumbled
“Come on, I’ll get you something from the vendors,” he said, walking towards the numerous stalls that were stationed in the Grand Bazaar
“If you get hungry, you need to come to me. Don’t keep skipping meals, idiot.”
“Here,” he tossed them a sandwich wrapped in newspaper
“Eat it.”
They glance at the sandwich in their hands and smile
“Thank you!”
“Just hurry up and eat it,” he said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

My thoughts on the 5.0 livestream
Disappointed Mavuika appears to be another pyro claymore. Was really hoping for a 5 star pyro sword. Would also help make connections to Bennett, since he's the only other pyro sword.
Props to those who predicted Il Capitano would be a cryo user!
Also props to whoever predicted the Archon Quests would follow the pattern shown in the Mond prologue: that is, first we learn about the Abyss Order as enemies, then we focus on the Fatui for a while, then the Abyss Order comes back into focus closer to the final showdown. It seems they’re getting a much bigger focus in the Natlan archon quest!
Also, wow, so we already know Natlan and Mondstadt have weird connections - Now we know they have another one: Natlan and Mondstadt are the only 2 nations the Abyss Order is interested in.
Hey look a pale npc with dreadlocks
Love the greater focus on the Mandarin language! Very nice for a learner
Furina wasn’t biologically an archon, so her hair didn’t glow - she had that glowy fabric in the back of her outfit to kinda hide that. Mavuika is a really nice contrast - her entire head of hair glows very bright! Not just the tips like previous archons
Was noticeable how they reframed the player feedback: “everyone’s very interested in our inspirations for Natlan” as a corporate translation of everyone’s anger over the whitewashing and Spirit Halloween-ifying
Still disappointed in the pyro archon’s leather biker suit
Someone more familiar with Genshin’s music look into this - but around 34:10 when they started answering the question “will someone be resurrected” does the music resemble more the music from La Signora’s funeral video?
Wonder about the original Mandarin titles for the Archon Quest acts - Because “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn” sounds so cool - and then Act 2 is “Black Stone under a White Stone”. It’s just comically simple compared to the big words that are usually in genshin titles
Also really interested in the Ancient Names thing. I’m almost certain it’s something taken from a real-life culture, and should really research more into that.
Did I understand that right? They’re gonna give us Kachina for free, just like we got Amber and Kaeya and Lisa back in Mondstadt?
All 3 of the new 5.0 characters mark regional specialties, and also have additional exploration benefits!
Wow you can really see the effect that Wuthering Waves had on Genshin
And Test Run finally lets you test out the effects of the characters in an open-world environment!
Traveler will not get the pyro element this update - but it sounds like that’s a possibility for once the Archon Quest has finished?
So I noticed that the 2 new Geo characters we’ll get - Kachina  and the tall lady - both come from the same tribe - the one associated with rocks and such. Makes me wonder if it’s possible to even get a vision that doesn’t correspond to your tribe’s element.
Really seems like the cultural elements here are more simplified “everyone in this tribe loves music” “everyone in this tribe loves extreme sports” “everyone in this tribe loves mining” where’s the complexity.
I shall add capybaras to my teapot!
Yay another Dodoco event! I really enjoyed the one last year
They’re also giving out extra rewards for completing archon and story quests within the 6 week release - including giving us a lot of the ascension materials to get to level 60!
Did find it funny when one guy was explaining all the new benefits and the other is like, “wait, this is Genshin Impact? All this cool stuff is in Genshin Impact?” Like yeah Wuthering Waves bred innovation!
FREE STANDARD FIVE STAR EVERY YEAR
I already have Tighnari, Dehya, and Keqing. I don’t really want any of their constellations, so my choice is between Qiqi, Mona, Jean, and Diluc. I don’t want Qiqi, and I don’t need Mona since I already have Furina. It’s down to Jean or Diluc. Jean’s ability to push people away looks really fun, and I can certainly think of places where I would’ve loved to have that skill. However, I have wanted Diluc since the very first time we played him in that trial run during the Mond archon quest. I also already have Kaeya, Rosaria, and Venti, so completing the Angel’s Share team would be cool. My only hesitation is that his gameplay will probably be outdone by Mavuika. But leaks have said she might not release til January, when I was expecting her in November (however leaks also said Emilie was part of Hexenzirkel they aren’t always right).
Love that Oratrice Mechanique d’Analyse Cardinale made it into the stream
BEFORE Khoi Dao repeated that phrase, I did not know he spoke French. But I could hear his actual good French-speaking accent when he said it, and turns out he does indeed speak it! Cool!
Yippee!
Zach Aguilar and Khoi Dao are a great comedic duo
LOVE to hear Brittany Lauda talk about relating to her character, Chiori, for both being seen as intimidating - I specifically relate to Chiori for her basic facial expressions, her bluntness, her acceptance of her quirks, and difficulty making friends because of those traits. Just really glad to hear I’m not the only one.
The English voice actor for Lumine actually has a twin brother?!
Amber Lee Conners appeared at the end of the stream, so this is a good place to say how AMAZING her voice acting as Furina is. Just listening to her voice lines and hearing the difference between her acting confident and her actual, recovering-from-depression self is a clear display of talent. Always a treat to listen to.
Jenny Yokobori (Yoimiya VA) having worked as a pyrotechnician! Cool!
And her sharing the bond with her character for their dads. So sweet.
Let Erika Harlacher-Stone sing as Venti more!
The Clorinda VA Crystal Lee also loves Tabletop Games!

Then
—
You were finally happy.
The grass tickled your neck and midnight carressed the tip of your nose. Above you, the entire universe had opened to you in light. Like most people, you sought the shapes they formed and the stories they told. The warmest part of you was your hand, fingers intertwined with your lovers’. He sat cross-legged next to you with a book open in his lap. It was home, you thought—you knew.
The glittering sound of shifting leaves combined with Tighnari’s voice as he read poetry from your favourite anthology—breaking off here and then to comment, “That line was something else,” or “That’s—how I feel, Y/N,” or even just, “Wow.” There was no pleasure in the universe like hearing him feel those lines like you did. The intimacy of sharing in this experience was beyond even physical closeness. Though, as you thought of it, you tightened your grip on Tighnari’s hand. Physical closeness, after this poem, wasn’t something you’d turn down, either.
After all, why couldn’t you have it all? Everything itself sat next to you, serenading you in ways you didn’t think possible. He drew close to the end. You knew these lines so well you could harmonize with him.
“What may have been fate, now proliferates; I’d love you to say you’ll love me tomorrow.”
Then, he continued, saying lines you’d never heard:
“As life runs its course, I brave the path forth, Without you by my side What sort of man am I?”
You turned your gaze towards him and saw his own hazel eyes glittering in your direction with something you dared to interpret as determination. They were his words, you realized. Barely believing it, you tugged on his hand and he yielded to your demand. He planted both your hands into the grass; you would germinate, mature, and blossom by his hand.
Something like disbelief always lingered in your mind when he kissed you, as if you brain couldn’t yet accept after all this time that he was yours, your best friend, and your partner. With his hands on you, you felt your mind and body seperate as you disappeared to cloud nine. You were acutely aware of the primal, simple arousal of your body by his ministration, and yet there was no way for you to sink your teeth into the fabric of his mind as you wanted so badly to do now.
He paused kissing you to stare deeply into your eyes. You always felt like he saw something past them. Now, you knew for certain that he saw you staring back.
“I love you,” he said. “By the way.”
“Of course you do,” you replied. “And I you.”
Tighnari sunk to the ground next to you, an arm around your waist. He propped his head up with his elbow in the grass and smiled coyly, his ears perked. “I want to take everything further,” he said.
Your animal brain took this to mean the wrong thing, but you knew he wouldn’t mean it in that way. Instead, you caressed his forearm and asked what he was waiting to hear, “How do you mean?”
“You and me. This. Our research, our mission. I want to go all in. With your skills and my wit, we could discover everything before we die.”
“You think?”
He chuckled. “Maybe not. I suppose the more we find, the more we wonder.” He pressed two, three kisses to your neck. “Do you want to take this further?”
Yes. No. You hesitated. Part of you didn’t understand how this was sustainable. You couldn’t know what, practically, your life would look like in ten years if you kept on like this. Despite the euphoria of novelty, the uncertainty scared you. Could it really stay like this forever? Something from this bare-bones life, you worried, would have to be sacrificed.
You swallowed the lump in your throat.
“Yes,” you said. “More than anything.”
☘︎
Now
—
You hadn’t been thinking when Tighnari asked if he could look over your data from a few weeks ago to compare it with today’s numbers of the Withering Zones. If you had been thinking, you would have ripped the page from a few weeks ago out before you gave him free reign.
Perhaps you had assumed he wouldn’t notice it, or that he’d ignore it.
Tighnari did not ignore it.
With a jolt, you realized your mistake and looked panickedly over Tighnari. It was open, to your horror, to the few lines of that poem you’d transcribed when you arrived in Gandharva Ville two weeks ago. Tighnari’s face was stoic, lips pressed into a line. He wouldn’t return your gaze. You didn’t want him to.
You sat in silence, head spinning. What was he thinking? Was he mad at you? Was he upset? Was he going to tell you to get out? Was he going to plead with you to come back? You wanted none of these to happen. None of them seemed plausible. Despite your vivid dreams of what would happen when you finally saw him again, the best your imagination could ever come up with never felt believable. You felt that now more than ever.
You saw his lips part, but then he pursed them. Obviously, whatever he wanted to say, he wasn’t sure about either. Your palms accumulated sweat at the unknown thoughts in his head.
You cleared your throat. “That’s not…” You were unable to come up with a direction for the sentence, and relented.
His eyes narrowed, though still avoiding yours. “You left,” he said.
Tighnari was a man of many words, but he knew how to say a lot with only a few. Suddenly you knew where he stood. He saw that you missed him, he saw that you were pained by being around him, he saw that you were jealous and judging of his new relationship. Which, you reminded yourself, would prevent this conversation from going backwards.
“You said you owed Cyno,” you said, trying to parse your thoughts for the few you actually wanted to say aloud. “And now, look at you two. I was holding you back.”
“Nobody knew that was going to happen,” he replied quickly.
“No. But it was meant to, wasn’t it?”
He finally meant your eyes, clearly experiencing some kind of agony akin to yours. Oh, Archons, this was worse than feeling your own pain. You couldn’t speak.
“You can’t excuse what happened by saying it was meant to. That is unproductive and, dare I say, incredibly selfish.”
Like a dagger to your heart. Tears pricked at your eyes.
You took a shuddering breath. “I have to think that. I have to think it was meant to be, that it had to happen the way it did, Tighnari. I have to.”
He swallowed, looking at you like he looked at the withering saplings on the table. “You left,” he said again, louder. Your ears felt like they exploded and you winced.
“You weren’t putting me first,” you said weakly.
“You weren’t putting me first. And I never asked you to. I only asked you to stay by my side. You said you wanted to go all in—and that was our shot. All that in the forest… that wasn’t going to last. Don’t you know that, Y/N?”
You did. “I just… It was sudden. And it wasn’t what I wanted.”
He crossed his arms at you. “Only the end of the world is enough to get you to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. You can’t expect me to abide by that.”
It wasn’t fair of him to say, though perhaps it was correct. “I don’t know,” you said, feeling tears launch themselves down your cheeks. “I changed myself for you, Tighnari. I thought I understood where we were going. You asked me to go all in, and I didn’t realize that meant moving to Gandharva Ville at the General Mahamatra’s beck and call.” Your voice became clouded in escaping sobs. “I’m sorry I left like that without saying anything. But you have so much power over me. You say something and I change my mind on it to be more like you. I copy your mannerisms, I compare our achievements, I can’t tear my eyes away from you. I’m obsessed. It’s no more healthy now than it ever was.”
Tighnari stood and closed the distance between you. To your—relief?—he shut the notebook and handed it to you. His face was unreadable. Anger? Betrayal? Despair?
“You never said so,” he said, and turned away.
A rustle came from the hut entrance. Light streamed in as Amir poked his head in. You barely registered his words: “General Watchleader, sir, some Akademiya faculty are here to see you. Something about a seminar?”
You didn’t see Tighnari’s face as he left with the Forest Watcher.
Maybe it was for the best.
☘︎
As it happened, Sage Naphis, the professor you’d gone to before, and some other faculty from Amurta had been electrified by the information about the state of the forest. They were organizing a conference to bring together alumni, faculty, and students to recenter goals of the department and organize collaborators. On this rare occasion, Tighnari agreed to speak. You marvelled at his willingness to associate with the Akademiya, even despite your position there.
Saying goodbye to Collei was bittersweet. It had been nice to meet her, and though you weren’t keen on kids you had to admit that she might have been enough to change your mind.
“When will you come back?” she asked you.
Your hope was that Tighnari would pique the interest of other students and researchers who could take over your role. That would make this your last time seeing her. It would be better to leave Gandharva Ville in your memory as you’d done before.
“We’ll see,” you said. “You take care, okay, Collei?”
She nodded, with the expression of someone determined to please. A familiar expression, now written into the gentle lines of your face.
Kids.
After journeying to Sumeru City and sitting through said seminar, you remembered why exactly it was you’d left the Akademiya before. This was dull, even when the topic was the center of your interest, and everybody else’s, for that matter. Trust an institution to make bland the potential end of the world. Even the exciting term he’d come up with, Withering Zones, fell flat in a sterile room. Still, still, you loved it. You loved listening to him talk about the state of the project and of the forest. You also appreciated the mild antagonism of the institution he threw in for kicks.
Afterwards, you, Tighnari, and the few other Forest Rangers with you exited the lecture hall to see Alhaitham leaning against a pillar. Attached to his side was, to your slight surprise, Kaveh. Your roommate was waving at you, looking unbelievably pleased with himself.
You realized a moment too late that you hadn’t written back to him, being consumed with the project, and with the dread of correcting his assumption about Tighnari and you.
“Hey, you two!” He elbowed Alhaitham, who accepted it with a mild flicker of his brows. “I told you I saw Forest Rangers earlier. What brings you all the way here?”
“I could say the same for you,” you said, an eyebrow raised. “What are you doing in the Akademiya?”
“I wanted to see some old classmates,” Kaveh explained.
You looked between him and the scribe. Liar.
“But you guys—look at you, being normal again!” he continued. Apprehension crawled up your throat. He’d better not say anything embarrassing. “I knew this project would smooth it all over. Are you guys free now? We should go to the tavern!”
“I’d love that, Kaveh,” Tighnari said. You stole a glance at him. He seemed to be trying his best not to give any information with his expression.
“Does ‘we’ include your boyfriend?” you asked with a smirk at Alhaitham.
He glared back at you. “I’ll come. But please,” he beseeched you and Kaveh, “don’t get completely wasted.”
It wasn’t the first time you’d heard him say it, but it had been awhile. There was comfort in the success of your friends’ relationship. The three of you could go back to how things were. Suddenly you felt a sense of nostalgia for the life after Tighnari. You wanted it back more than anything, and now, you might just be able to enjoy it.
The four of you made your way to Lambad’s through a brewing storm. Kaveh pulled Alhaitham by the hand as they ran through the rain. Crossing the threshold of the entrance into the warm, dry tavern, you remembered how you had come to associate the scent of alcohol with sorry daydreams about Tighnari. Finding seats with them, you remembered bits and pieces of the nights you spent crying over it all. Taking your first sip of whiskey, you remembered…
You remembered the warmth of having Kaveh next to you as he was now. You remembered having a friend throughout it all.
Sitting here, a foot away from Tighnari, you were further from him than you’d ever been. You were finally releasing yourself from his involuntary grip, you realized.
Kaveh, as usual, absorbed your attention with a story about a new client. This time, as he’d stopped doing months ago, he was peppering in recollections of things Alhaitham had said about it, and Alhaitham corrected his phrasing to match the exact tone he’d meant them in. You and Tighnari both participated in the conversation, mutually putting effort to steer the conversation away from anything concerning your relationship. There was nothing left to say, especially not in front of your friends.
You found that you didn’t want more than one drink, that night. You ordered a glass of water, instead.
Despite the tension in your mind anytime you looked in Tighnari’s direction, you felt content. Not happy, and not even close to how you’d felt a year ago. But content. You felt, for the first time in awhile, that maybe everything could be okay.
Lambad swung by your table again with the second round of drinks and an envelope, which he handed to Tighnari. “Came by Dusk Bird just now,.”
Tighnari’s eyes widened, and he tore it open. You, Kaveh, and Alhaitham all watched in worried silence as Tighnari read, brows furrowing. After only a few seconds he dropped it on the table and grabbed his satchel. “Woman came to the village saying that her daughter had run off and gone missing. Collei ran off to find her, probably knowing I wouldn’t be back in time… I—I have to go.”
“Of course,” Kaveh said. “We understand! Do you want us to come? I can get my claymore, and Alhaitham’s got his sword—”
“No, that’s okay. This storm is nasty, we’d get seperated in all of that.”
“Be safe,” you said with a dry mouth.
“Thank you. Snakes and boars, I hope she’s okay.”
Then, you watched him go, waiting for your muscles to tense for you to run after him. They didn’t tense.
You didn’t feel Alhaitham’s gaze on you until you took a long sip of water. Realizing, you met it.
“You guys didn’t work it out,” he said plainly.
“No.”
You smiled in an unfamiliar way. Your breath coming easier than before.
Meant to be or not, you saw the man Tighnari was without you. And he wasn’t half bad.

tw - sex doll au, implied dub/con, unhealthy relationships, possessive behavior, and generally depraved behavior.
You're starting to wonder if you should've gotten a different pair.
You knew what you were getting into when you decided that, of all the androids in Teyvat's stock, you were going to be one of the few brave souls that dared to put two members of the Akademiya Collection that weren't Tighnari and Cyno under the same roof. The salesperson had cringed as you made your selection, your more tech-savvy friends pursed their lips and asked if that was really for the best, and you couldn't mention your specific preferences on any public message board without being berated off the platform entirely. You didn't care, thought. The heart wants what it wants, and apparently, your heart wanted two burnt-out post-grads to rail you into next week.
That's what you told yourself until you got Alhaitham and Kaveh home, at least.
The bickering, you were prepared for. You weren't surprised by the constant passive-aggression, the subtle pokes at Alhaitham's arrogance and Kaveh's bleeding heart, and you managed to stomach it the first time your dreams of a multi-major threesome were dashed because Kaveh mentioned some ancient philosophical principle and Alhaitham couldn't resist the opportunity to correct his wording and you were left bouncing yourself on Alhaitham's cock while he dispassionately flipped through a textbook you haven't opened since you were an under-grad. Minor hiccups, nothing you couldn't forget about when Kaveh buried his face between your thighs or Alhaitham split you open on his fingers while reading your latest research paper aloud, denying you an orgasm for every grammatical error. That part, you wouldn't trade for the world.
The jealousy, though - you could live without that. You've heard that there's supposed to be fail-safes for this kind of thing, measures the developers take to make sure any companion droids can co-exist without tearing each other apart, but their mutual distaste seems strong enough to overwhelm whatever barriers their creators put in place. You've lost count of the number of times there's been a false-alarm in some other part of your apartment while you're on your knees at Alhaitham's feet, how many times Alhaitham's flawless hardware has suddenly 'malfunctioned' while Kaveh has your ankles propped on his shoulders.
Not getting laid, you can deal with, but it's a little hard to be so forgiving when Kaveh spends the better half a day pouting because you took Alhaitham to work and left him at home, when Alhaitham deletes your registered commands from his memory bank because you had the nerve to take Kaveh to a farmer's market that that he'd rather die than step foot in. You've tried to be fair, to divide your time evenly, but they're not happy with that, either. Neither of them would ever say it out loud, but it's clear enough that they both want to be the center of your attention. It'd be cute, if they weren't so spiteful.
The only thing worse than their jealousy is when they put aside their spitefulness, their petty arguments, and decide to agree on the only thing they can ever agree on: that their beloved 'master' should be the one to make up for all those hours of neglect. It's a little like your fantasies, but not quite; your chest pressed against Alhaitham's Kaveh's chin resting on your shoulder, the former inside of you while the latter whispers sweet-nothings against the curve of your throat. It's more violent than anything you ever would've expected from two men so scholarly, more aggressive - teeth buried in your skin, bruises in the shape of their palm painted across your thighs, fingers forcing their way past your lips whenever you so much as consider using your safe-word. You're left strung-out for hours after they're done with you, and Kaveh's free to press himself against your side while Alhaitham tries to pass himself off as the caretaker he so clearly isn't. It's the only time they don't waste their breath on bickering. It's the only time they ever get along.
It's the only time you don't have the strength to focus on anything but your two precious, precious androids.

THE FASTEST WAY IS SELDOM THE BEST
After an attempt, you try to comfort your lover and look through his recovery. Pairing: Tighnari x gn!reader Cw: impplied suicide attempt. A/N: I had some wips about character conforting reader, but none of them seemed good enough to post. I know this is a weird format, but though it would be comforting to read how you comfort someone. Again, English is not my firt language and I'm afraid I sound a bit too formal [it would be great if you had some tips in how to write not so robotically/essay like(?)]. If there is something you would like for me to write, message me, maybe I'll post some sort of guide lines to show what is it that I'm willing to write.
Tumblr media
“I wanted to escape, maybe forever.”
Tighnari lies on the simple bed, head thrown against the embroidered pillows. His face – bronzed before – is pale and stained with tears, eyes lost in the ceiling of the room thinly veiled by the smoke of incense burning.
“I understand it, really” You respond trying to keep your voice even, but your lover says nothing, as if he can't believe you. You gently take is hand between your own and rub soothing circles on top of it with your thumb. “I know sometimes life becomes too daunting and the easiest way out seems to be the light at the end of the tunnel.” You whisper
Now he’s looking at you, his eyes glimmering with new pools of tears that threaten to spill into the blankets. “But you told me once that the fastest method is seldom the answer.” Tighnari chuckles, only a raspy sound that seems like a pained groan, but you can see the slight twitch in his ears and the way his frame sinks a little bit more into the mattress, as if more relaxed.
You begin then to reminisce of that particular day leaning against the bed frame and using one hand to caress your lover’s hair. Your voice is barely audible in the clutered room.
“It had been a quite long day, you were on duty and had proposed for me to join you – you didn't wanted me to be alone – and I was jumping from rock to rock in the edge of the path leading home. Do you remember?” A faint nod “For hours you had talked about the flowers and the little forest animas we encountered with such fondness it almost made me jealous” The corners of his mouth curve ever so slightly “You didn’t let me take some roses; said it would be a disaster to the ecosystem. And right there, just in the front of the village, in the middle of the path, lied a beautiful bird feather, it’s blue hues made it look like some sort of treasure or spirit buried beneath the damp dirt. I ran for it, carelessly, anticipating an impressive monologue about birds from you, but I ran too fast and the feather was too light”
“I remember, his hoarse voice cuts through the story” and through the tiredness, he smiles relieved.
“Yes” now you are also smiling sadly and you fingers keep brushing his hair with slow deliberate motions. “I ran too fast, and the feather flew out and into the bridge and as I chased it, it fell below the wooden structure. That’s when you caught up to me and told me .”
Tumblr media
How could you not see it? It was so obvious, his tired movements, his longing stares at night, sitting in front of the bedroom window and sighing pitifully. You should have done something. That is what you repeat to yourself everyday sinc the incident happened, still convinced you could have done something to prevent it, although your lover has already told you that tha isn't a burden for you to carry. And obviously, everything seems so crystal clear in retrospective.
"We can't change the past, so holding grudges against it is simply futile." Those are words of wisdom from Tighnari on a rainy afternoon.
Tighnari is sitting outside on a kitchen chair propped on  some velvety green pillows that keep his weak body comfortably leaned into the firm wood. He has changed his usual ranger clothes for some flowy linen garments  and a blanket sent by Candace after the news reached Ardu Village is draped over his knees. It’s woven with a variety of reds and browns and depicts a forest scene populated by shadowy dusk birds and half hidden lizards.
After Collei left, settling in a quaint town in the proximities of Sumeru city, the cabin had fallen silent. Tighnari started to space out his lectures in wildlife and botanic, often preferring the warm seat next to the fire where you cooked. At first, everyone just thought of it as a domestic situation, both of you had even started thinking about children during the months prior to Collei’s departure, just a loving couple wanting to be together. But then he slowly started missing patrols; it was at some point commonplace to see Iraj and Nasring on your living room trying to convince your lover to leave the house and help them in their duties.
You should have known, but you were also going through a lot. Your cooking supplied the forest rangers and watchers and your stock of ointments and pomades were highly sought after by the townsfolk. With little to no time to spend with Tighnari, your living arrangement and relationship deteriorated with each passing day. It also didn’t help that Cyno stopped visiting Gandharva Ville after a while and that his letters, frequent and light hearted before, became rare occurrences with little more than bad news.
But now, Tighnari stretches carefully and happily looks at you at the other side of the kitchen window through his lashes. The sun is making him more optimistic, at least, that’s what he tells you at night, just before you both fall asleep in each other’s arms. Maybe it’s also the overexcited rambles that Collei sends through her letters or the short Genious  Invokation duels with Cyno during his recurring visits.
Tumblr media
It has been well over a month, Tighnari is sitting, still too weak to stand for long periods of time, next to the stove. His soothing voice filling the inside of the home with vibrant colors of the rainforest through his tales. The counters are filled with  spice bowls and chopped vegetables whose stories Tighnari never forgets to tell you about. You place a steaming spoon of soup in front of his face.
“Do you like it?” You ask as you watch you lover frowning in a comically exaggerated thinking pose.
“It’s magnificent, love” He responds after a dramatic pause. His sweet words caress your skin and you can’t help but place a big kiss on his forehead, on then one over his nose. “Hey!” he playfully reprimands you, but you can see through the corner of your eye the wagging of his tail.

Where do they like to kiss? dendro + electro ver.
english isn’t my first language, sorry for mistakes
characters: al haitham + baizhu + kaveh + tighnari + cyno (separate)
word count: almost 1k
Tumblr media
Al Haitham
Top of the head.
Somehow or other he has to show that he's still the cool guy, so he won't give you a lot of kisses or affectionate caresses in front of people. But once it's just the two of you, things change.
I was sitting on his lap, head buried in the hollow of his neck and half asleep, focusing solely on how his chest expanded and sank with each breath in rhythm with mine. He held a book in his hands and his eyes moved from left to right, reading every word and occasionally letting out little murmurs. He closed the book abruptly, perhaps unhappy with its contents, and I jumped at the noise. "Oh, sorry." He said in a soft tone and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to his torso. "You can go back to sleep." He sketched out a small laugh and pressed his lips against the top of my head, ruffling my hair slightly.
Tumblr media
Baizhu
Wounds.
Hear me out, I know this probably sounds very typical or very weird or both at the same time. But for some reason my head only sees it possible for Baizhu to spend all his free time poking you in the scrapes and bruises so they 'heal faster'.
His work shift was over and we were relaxing quietly, ordering some new products that had just arrived at the pharmacy and talking about the day when he saw a previously unseen wound on the skin of my arm. "When did you get it? Let me see." He asked and dropped the jar of crushed herbs on a shelf, taking my wrist to closely examine the bruise. I quickly explained that it was a simple knock with a door, but Baizhu was adamant that it needed to be treated, not at all for the fact that he loved the feel of my skin under his touch. "Does it hurt much?" His fingers caressed the bruise on the outside of my arm and when I nodded slightly he brought his warm lips to it.
Tumblr media
Kaveh
Cheeks.
Okay, but Kaveh getting upset about his job? Why do I feel like he would come back to you for a lot of comfort after a day with really annoying customers? He'd ask you for advice only to have you say one sentence to him, light up his own light bulb and shower you all over the face with kisses.
I was already tucked up in bed and Kaveh had not yet arrived home. The sounds of Al Haitham's footsteps stopped quite a while ago and the worry began to grow on me, only then the door opened and the noise returned to the house. Kaveh appeared through his door frame, looking drunk as he propped himself up so as not to fall. I jumped out of the sheets to go hold him down and sit him on the edge of the mattress, questions coming out of my mouth as I tried to check if he was okay. "Customers are insufferable, not like you." He mumbled vaguely, his arms gripped me tightly and he leaned me against his own body. I tried to speak again, but he cut me off before I could. "Oh, I should have thought of that before, just having you here does it for me." He laughed and kissed my cheeks quickly, still drunk and slid over to scribble something in his notebook.
Tumblr media
Tighnari
Forehead.
This man is too sweet to exist, he would try to give you a single kiss, maybe as a goodbye, a peck or something but he would just convince himself that it's not enough and kiss your forehead (or anywhere else) as well.
I could see him gathering his stuff in a backpack for today's expedition, he said something about a strange plant throughout the day yesterday but I didn't pay much attention to him from the moment he uttered the phrase 'it's too dangerous for you to go blah blah blah'. Once everything he saw as necessary for his outing was inside the green bag he approached me, that typical face that even if I asked him on my knees he wasn't going to let me go. "Before you ask, no." I rolled my eyes, holding back a small laugh and nodded my head. "Well, I'll be going now then, I'll be back in the evening." He left a kiss on my lips and headed for the exit of our cabin but before he left he turned on his own heels and ran up to me again, leaving a kiss on my forehead.

Cyno
Legs.
This definitely sounds weird, but let me explain. I'm 100% sure Cyno would take you on some missions with him and you'd come back in pain from all that walking, so there's nothing better than kisses to relieve.
I kept my eyes closed as I groaned lying down, my calves felt more sore than usual and I knew perfectly well that tomorrow I was going to have a stiffness that wouldn't let me walk, but still I didn't plan to let Cyno down once I told him I would accompany him, at least for this week. "Is something wrong, do you want to rest?" I merely pointed to my legs, looking at him with abandoned puppy dog eyes, maybe I'd get him to give me a piggyback ride or more rest time. "What does that mean?" he asked and crouched down to my height, running his hand down my legs gently as he inspected. Noticing my expressions of pleasure as he massaged, he smiled and began spreading kisses all over my exposed skin, getting giggles from me.

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐕! THE NIGHT IN QUESTION

"and here's to finishing finals!"
you grin alongside your friends, clinking your glass with theirs as you all take your first drink of the night. you're not even being dramatic when you can practically feel the weight of the past month's stress melting away as soon as the slight burn of alcohol meets your lips, and it's clear that your friends share the same sentiment with the almost collective sigh of relief that you all breathe, despite the crowded atmosphere of the local tavern.
every akademiya scholar had the same idea, flocking straight to the nearby tavern in sumeru as soon as they had finished their final exam, finding the perfect solution to the past month of stress and studying to blow off some steam and drink with their friends. in hindisght, it was lucky that your friends had managed to even snag a table, with most of the other darshan members sinply huddled together in whatever spare space was left.
kaveh suddenly throwing his arm around alhaitham's shoulders brought your attention back to your friends, and you grinned at alhaitham's disgruntled expression before shrugging a tipsy kaveh off of him. though you weren't too far behind the blond in terms of level of sobriety, you still giggled at the way he swayed even while seated, laughing even harder when alhaitham's eyes met yours in dismay as kaveh's head flopped down onto the table.
"take it easy, hm?" nilou reached across the table, patting his hand reassuringly. you could hear a muffled response from the man, before he suddenly sat back up again.
"finals are over," he gushed, his smile spreading to the rest of your table as you grinned and took another sip of your drink. you glance upwards again, feeling the heat of a gaze on you and almost blinking in surprise as you meet the teal-coloured ones of alhaitham's from across the table.
his chin was propped on his hand, head ever so slightly tilted towards you, and you weren't sure whether it was the alcohol or the look in his eyes that had you coughing and saying you would buy everyone some shots.
"careful, make sure you don't end up like kaveh here," dehya smirks at her own joke, the hilariously low tolerance of kaveh often making him the butt of jokes on a night out. kaveh huffed, the slight pink tinge to his cheeks not helping disprove her words.
"everyone here is sho mean to me," he slurred, and you bite back a giggle as you rise to your feet unsteadily. if the effects of your drink hadn't been felt before, they certainly were now as you fully straightened up, feeling the rush to your head.
you frowned, doing a quick headcount of the table.
"are tighnari and layla not here yet?"
you catch nilou and dehya exchange a look, before the redhead hesitantly tells you "they're with cyno." you blink once, nodding at this news.
"so no shots for them, huh?" you grin, trying to break the awkward tension as you slid away from the booth and made your way to the bar on unsteady feet.
you weren't exactly expecting everything to proceed as if nothing has happened, what with you and cyno breaking up a mere month ago, as well as the fact that you both had the same friends. and while there hadn't been any bad blood, per se, between you and cyno, there was still a rather bitter taste in your mouth at the mention of him. one that could get washed down with another drink, you mused to yourself.
your plan to do so was interrupted when you felt yourself collide with someone as you were lost in thought, an automatic apology slipping out of your mouth before your slightly tipsy brain finally recognised the girl in front of you.
"kirara?!" her own eyes widened as she recognised you too, a grin breaking out onto her face.
"hey! how's it been?"
"oh, you know, finals are over so i'm finally taking a break along with rest of the akademiya." as if to prove your point, you hear a particularly loud and drunken yell of a nearby student as he raises his glass above his head in some triumphant scream.
kirara smiles, shifting the glass in her hand to the other. "yeah, i saw the fun and i don't have to go back until tomorrow, so i thought i might as well join." you hummed, watching as her eyes flitted between the students that surrounded you.
"how's the business going?"
"oh, it's doing great. how's, um-" she furrows her brows for a second- "how are you and cyno doing?" that same pang returns, and kirara can see the way your face changes as she puts two and two together.
"ah, sorry."
"hey it's fine, it's not like you-"
"so how long ago did you guys break up?"
"like a month? finals and stuff got really stressful, so yeah." kirara hummed, and you cleared your throat as you started to move past her. "i've gotta go get some more drinks, so see you around, yeah?"
"of course, nice seeing you," she gives you a toothy grin, waving a hand as you continue on through the crowd of scholars, feeling a little more disgruntled.
by the time you had returned to the table of your friends, shots in hand, you were more than eager to throw back your own one, not even grimacing at the taste by this point.
"you guys wanna dance?" you heard nilou shout over the chatter of others and the fainter throes of music from who knows where. you nod enthusiastically, feeling your head swim as nilou grins and takes you and dehya by the hand, starting to lead you further into the crowd. you cast a glance behind you, seeing kaveh back and active again, trying with less success than nilou had to get alhaitham up and onto the dancefloor. you snickered at their little back-and-forth, and how alhaitham didn't even budge despite kaveh's best efforts, before you were whisked too far away into the crowd to see them any more.
this tavern must have been larger than you realised, since you could see a makeshift dancefloor a couple metres away where the music was now much louder. nilou took the lead, raising her arms above her head as she began to sway to the beat, beckoning to both you and dehya to join. your drunk self doesn't take much convincing, and even dehya joins, spinning nilou in a circle which has the redhead giggling.
the night continues in a drunken haze, sounds and colour blending into one as your senses are soon overtaken by the now loudly thumping bassline of the music, as well as the new swarm of bodies surrounding you and your friends as other students joined the already-packed dance floor.
it all got a bit much, and you shouted to tell dehya that you're going to go to the bathroom, getting a quick thumbs up in return. weaving your way through the sea of people makes you feel like you're worthy of joining the adventurer's guild, and you're fairly certain you've had at least one drink spilled onto your outfit by the time you made it to the toilets,
it doesn't quite hit you how drunk you are, until you find yourself clutching the counter and staring at the woozy reflection of yourself on wobbly legs. regardless, you freshen up a bit, waiting for the room to stop spinning before you open the bathroom door again, once again getting hit full force with the sheer volume of the tavern.
and, as it quickly dawned upon you, in your drunken haze you hadn't really planned out on how to exactly get back to your friends. you huffed out a breath, opting to turn on your heel and head back to the bar, only to almost barrel into someone.
"oh my god i'm so sorry-" your words were spilling out quickly due to the alcohol, that heady feeling returning as the stranger steadied you with their hands, and you looked up at their face with some difficulty to see the slightly concerned face of alhaitham peering down at you.
"y/n? where's nilou and dehya?" his words sounded far-off, and you merely giggled before swaying a bit, pointing in the general direction of the dancefloor as your answer.
"went to the bathroom on my own and i lost them." you couldn't help but pout, and you watched as alhaitham scrubbed a hand down his face.
"right, ok, let's get you home then." your eyebrows shot up at his words. he fixed you a firm glance, his warm hands on your shoulders now adding a gentle pressure as he began to guide you towards the exit. "you're clearly drunk, and i don't see you finding either of them any time soon." you open your mouth to complain, only for him to interrupt you before you even talk with a firmer utterance of your name. you frown, and his face softens a fraction before tugging at your arm again. "c'mon, it's late."
"you sound like my fucking dad," you ultimately grumble before relenting, hearing alhaitham snort briefly at your remark as he guides you around the throes of people before the cool night air greets your skin as you leave the tavern. you draw closer to him subconsciously, almost pulled in by his body warmth that seemed to emanate from him on this chilly evening.
much to your dismay, alhaitham had released his grip on your upper arm, now letting the two of you walk in tandem. you frowned to yourself briefly, coveting his warmth again, seeking out for it with your fingers until they met the expanse of his bicep. you wrapped your arm around it, practically giggling to yourself as alhaitham rolled his eyes at your antics. it felt nice, having something to keep yourself warm as you began to walk in the direction of your house, and clinging to his arm until you were practically pressed into his side also had the added bonus of ensuring that you wouldn't stumble and fall into the road.
it doesn't stop the asshole from snickering as you stumble over your own feet, detracting from the fact that his arm shot out and wrapped around your waist to steady you. you glared up at him as he made no attempt to hide his amusement, jostling him with your shoulder, though it didn't appear to have much effect.
"i'd like to see you try walk home while drunk." alhaitham merely shrugged, the smile still playing on his lips.
"i'm pretty sure i drank more than you, only difference is i can hold my liquor." you huff again, much to his amusement, and things fall to a comfortable silence for a few metres.
your attention diverts to the arm that's still rested comfortably against you, you're practically hugging it, and you give it an experimental squeeze, raising a hand to poke at one of the veins.
"the fuck are you doing?"
"you have nice arms." there you go again, drunk and babbling words before your brain can stop you from blurting them out.
"oh yeah?"
you hum in affirmation, letting your finger continue to trace his vein as it continues down to his forearm.
"you're tall and they're warm but not too warm and they're very solid. good arms." you pause for a second, appraising the one that you had in your grasp for another second. "they also look nice."
"you must be more drunk than i thought," alhaitham hummed, a tinge of mirth in his voice. "i'll keep that in mind though." you groaned a little, letting your forehead fall against his shoulder momentarily. alhaitham didn't seem to mind, merely slowing his pace slightly to glance down at you.
"you're gonna make fun of me for this when i'm sober, aren't you?"
"only if you want me to." you peek up at him, eyes narrowing at his smirk.
"i used to think you were nice to me, y'know."
"nah, i'm just drunk right now."
you scoff at this, batting his chest as he laughs, though the less inhibited version of himself that he was right now did nothing but corroborate his own claim.
that same easy silence once again enveloped the two of you, the walk back to your home once again becoming the primary focus. the cool air began to sober you up, and despite some newfound clarity, you felt hesitant to relent your grip on alhaitham's arm, and some insistent voice in the back of your head didn't hasten to point out that he wasn't moving away either.
this mini revelation almost had you reeling, having you walk next to him with bated breath, as if one wrong move would break the spell and he would move away from you, back into the safe zone of being just friends, and not whatever had been happening for the past twenty minutes. each step closer towards your house became more dreaded, carrying with it the growing realisation that you would have to let go of alhaitham and his arm, and have to look him in his eyes and bid him goodnight.
maybe it was some drunken selfishness, but you had grown rather accustomed to the way you had wrapped yourself around him, not quite willing to part with it yet. and by the time you were approaching your front door, this feeling still remained prominent.
you finally came to a stop just outside, and you fumbled with your keys, partially hoping that your fingers would never find them within the small confines of your purse. you cursed yourself as you felt the thin metal, drawing them out of your bag and flashing a reluctant smile at alhaitham as you began to unlock your door, fingers already itching for his touch again.
and then he utters your name, so low that you can barely hear it, and you can't help but glance back at him over your shoulder.
alhaitham stands at the bottom of the steps, not quite daring to cross the threshold despite the look in his eyes mirroring your thoughts. you swallow hard when you see the open longing in his expression, closing the gap between you somewhat by moving down a step, bringing you to eye level with him.
the briefest flash of an idea to invite him inside enters your mind, though fear holds you back from voicing it. alhaitham's eyes search your own for something, before they travel lower and gaze at your lips for a few seconds in a way that has your heartbeat increasing.
it has you leaning forward ever so slightly, drawn to his warmth all over again. the centimetres between the two of you diminish, and you can almost swear that you see him lean in too, before some unknown emotion flashes before hisbeyes and he straightens up, coughing once.
"it's late, y/n. get some sleep." you freeze, feeling warmth spread to your cheeks as you now ignore his gaze.
"right. thanks." you shut your door with a little more force than nencessary before alhaitham can see the way your face crumples, frowning as you pull out your phone, eager to tell your friends about what had just transpired, wiping away the stray tear that managed to slip past your waterline.

𖦹 if you had a ring doorbell instead of a regular one, you would have been able to see alhaitham lean his head against your door for a good 2 minutes after you closed it, before muttering "stupid" to himself and walking off
