Intro Post!

Hello! I’m Aurelius, or Auri, of the Haven Syndicate. I’m likely the only moderator(?) of this blog, as it is my own. Nobody other than myself will post on here.

I am well aware that the body is a human, and that I come from the wonderful world many mortals here call “Dungeons and Dragons”. However, that is to say; I am a tiefling. The vessel merely does not fit this soul encapsulated inside.

I use he/him pronouns, and I am relatively certain I’m queer, as I have a lovely husband in source. I miss him, rather quite much, and am likely to post of, and about he.

I am the result of some form of soulbond, although I do completely inhabit the vessel from time to time. It is likely that I hold the traumatic memories for us all, as well.

It would be rather preferred to not have anything sexual instated about myself, although I may post of my husband from time to time. Please be respectful, thank you.

it’s fall. you go to the bonfire, but you don’t talk much. you’re hypnotized by the sparks. the tantalizing scent of smoke. you tend to the flames and poke at the smoldering embers below with a stick.

you were forced to go to church every sunday morning, of course. you never understood how anyone could stand the smell. they don’t even seem to notice it.

spilled gasoline in a parking lot is gorgeous. so are the flower petals in a stream of water headed straight for the gutter. scars. deformities. injuries. tornadoes. spiders - and worse. you see the beauty the humans carelessly throw away.

you think a lot. you know that pain is the price of free will. without pain, evil is impossible, and therefore free will does not exist. you know that. you wonder how God or the gods or whatever is watching from above or below thinks about beings like you. wolves were made to hunt, right? why are you any different? why should you suffer in a lake of fire for being exactly what you were created to be?

one minute, you’re just watching trash tv. the next, you are stalking around your house, gnashing your teeth and muttering under your breath. you don’t know where the human ends and the demon begins.

you return to the television. you sit back down. you wish you could sleep, but you can’t. you don’t sleep well anymore.

Looking for input from any and all parts of the alterhuman community, but especially those who have experiences that don’t necessarily fall under any of the major labels (otherkin, therian, etc), or whose experiences truly blur the line between human and nonhuman! 

Asking this question here for a friend:

“For my entire life, as long as I can remember, I’ve felt like I should have been born with horns. I can picture exactly what they should look like - long, coal black horns that spiral upwards. The fact that I don’t have horns is genuinely distressing and makes me feel like I’m missing something vital. 

I own a pair of fake horns that resemble the horns I think should have, and I will find any opportunity to wear them. Halloween, costume parties, literally any excuse to put them on. Wearing them makes me feel right, I’m never happier then when I get to wear them and see myself that way and feel the weight on my head. I even have dreams where the fake horns somehow fuse to my head and I’m always happy about it, even in the dreams when people are feeling sorry for me that this happened and how “awful” it must be. 

I haven’t necessarily feel like I’m somehow not human, or that I’m a specific species. I relate to tieflings and other humanoid fantasy species that have horns, but the horns are definitely the main thing for me.

Would this make me alterhuman? Is there a word for this? Does anyone else have similar experiences?”

So many phantom limb kins… comes with the territory of kinning so many non humans. From Tiefling horns and tails to the wings of an immortal crow man, I’ve got it all. And *boy* is it disorienting sometimes. Can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve hesitated to get into a car or go through a doorway because “oh no what about my wings?” Before remembering that I don’t have them anymore.
