Okay, so - I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but the Prime Video (and apparently the Google description, too) for this movie reads:
When a famous model is killed, a smart detective investigates after realizing the incident seems to be a mystery.
Now, I know many of the Amazon descriptions are utter shit (like, every word being capitalized, or it just being a list of the actors in it), especially when it comes to Bollywood and other Indian films. But, like... seriously. What in the hell?
He can't be much of a smart detective if he doesn't immediately realize that someone being killed is a mystery. If I wasn't starved for whodunnits, I'd have scoffed at this and moved on. But alas, here we are - so I scoffed at it and then turned it on and watched.
It's a slow-paced mystery that doesn't bring much in terms of story - but what it does excel at is the filming, cinematography, and actual story-telling. Even as the story slogs along, occasionally interrupted by (mostly irrelevant) narrations by our deceased victim, it is what we see and not what we hear that really makes things interesting. The scene, for example, where our detective is hanging onto his daughter on the cliff: I mean, we've heard the "I thought I was holding onto her, but in reality, she was holding onto me" thing multiple times - but the way that is played out/shown here is brilliantly done.
Earlier yet, the scene where our detective first is introduced to the crime scene and the objects in the room move backwards in time to their original location, is brilliantly done. And the scenes where they think out possible scenarios. There is some overkill - the bit where our killer appears to be ascending, for example - but in general, the visuals and the style are undoubtedly the highlights of the movie. The star cast is good too, of course, but they're sort of waylaid by the straight-forward story (though, I guess, the 'motive' for the murder maybe could be something slightly different - a different form of jealousy, I guess?).
The most unnecessary thing, though, was probably the head inspector or whatever he was. He shows up as someone who is telling our detective "just find the first criminal, blame it on them, and wrap up the case," and every scene with him in it is just him making it blatantly clear he doesn't give too shits about solving the case. Also, he makes it clear he's a creep and disgusting - and there was no real reason to have him, or any of that, in the movie.
It's a simple murder mystery with a victim, two detectives, and 5 suspects - and somehow, at the end, only the two detectives are left standing. It may have started at a closed-room type of murder, but by the end, it is very much far from that.
It's not the best Tamil whodunnit/mystery I've seen (Kuttrame Thandanai, Oththa Seruppu Size 7, Thupparivaalan, and Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru all come to mind), but even with the predictability and the huge emphasis on style over substance, and killing off everyone, it is far from the worst (Thegidi; Jiivi, though that's a bit less of a whodunnit).
The style and the visuals, more than anything (though, also, I guess a shout out to Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vijay Antony, and Ritika Singh), make this a passable watch.

20 Questions for 20 Writers
Thank you @the-golden-comet @drchenquill and @paeliae-occasionally for the tag and so sorry for being late i was pretty busy with my college admissions ♡♡♡♡
1. Is writing a hobby or way of life?
To me, it is both. Because sometimes i write it as a hobby and to show people what i write but sometimes it's a way of life, it's like the rush of polt ideas at 3 am and the brain is pushing the ideas constantly and i have to reluctantly grab my phone to jot down ideas lest i forget them and i plot the ideas as if my life depends on it.
2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?
A journal full of writing notes. I have many, and i forgot where they are.
3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?
Anything, literally anything i see or hear or feel. ANYTHING.
4.Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?
Listening to me sing. I can't sing to save my life.
5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?
Yeah. Many times.
6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?7.
Uhh... is straight to publishing counts?
7.AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?
I don't write on AO3
8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably?
Movie: Do Revenge, Maharaj, Sholay, Kaho Na Pyaar hai, 3 Idiots, Chichore, Munna Bhai MBBS, Queen, Jab We Met, Chachi 420, Taare Zameen Pe, Stanley's Lunchbox, Nanny McPhee, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Wonka, Baby's Day Out, Om Shanti Om, Home Alone 1, Jumanji 1, My Name Is Khan, Padosan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Gupt, Kon, Main Khiladi Tu Anadi, Aavesham, Yevadu, Raatchasan, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, RRR, Magadheera, Disco Raja, IPS Vikram Singh Rathore, Thupparivaalan, Race Gurram, Vedalam, Rautu Ka Raaz, S/O Satyamurthy 1&2, and more,
Books: Harry Potter the prisoner of the Azkaban, A Good Girl's Guide To Murder series, Sorcery Of Thorns series, If We Were Villains, Babel, 1984, The Starless Sea, The Enchantment of Ravens, Stalking Jack The Ripper Series, The Agathas series, A Study in Charlotte, Piranesi and more..
Fics: Too many. I read too many fics in my prime AND I DARE TO FORGET THEIR NAME AAAAA- anyways, the one that i remember, and miss desperately and wish to read again is that one Lee Know fanfic i stubled upon on AO3. It was about them being pirates and Y/N being isekaied i guess. Lee Know being his usual cat self, angered Y/N and somehow, by mutually apologising, they become closer. If anyone finds if, lkm 👀😉
9. What's the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it?
I can think of some. "This has me at the edge of my seat" "You can adapt to so many genres easily and that's what makes you great" "This is the best idea I've come across yet" "This writing looks like Pride and Prejudice."
10. What defines your writing style?
🙂 i don't know 🙂 maybe people who read my works can enlighten me on that?
I'll tag @cssnder @finickyfelix @willtheweaver @ascotwriting @agirlandherquill @leahnardo-da-veggie @illarian-rambling @winglesswriter @paeliae-occasionally @the-golden-comet @graveyardshift111 and this is an open tag to all ♡
20 Questions for 20 Writers
Tagged by: @howtodrawyourdragon. Thank you!
1. Is writing a hobby or way of life?
100% a way of life. It kind of has been since I was a child. I was sick all the time and had story ideas, so I started writing them down when I was too sick to go to school. I got bored of just reading and wanted to make my own.
2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?
Well, currently I have folders upon folders of notes for my fantasy novel, but obviously I would like a clean, completed manuscript at some point. The entire work is 28k words at the moment.
3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?
My special interests for sure. Obviously How to Train Your Dragon, but when I get into something, I really get into it. Lol, one could say autism is my writing inspiration.
4.Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?
Probably someone I idolize reading my first draft. I'm getting a lot better at receiving rejection and critique but it's still very hard for me. I had a good singing voice before I had covid. (The band teacher and the chorus teacher in high school would fight over who got to have me. I chose band.) Covid has absolutely wrecked my singing voice, but I think I can get it back with practice. So yeah, I'll take someone listening to me sing over reading my first draft.
5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?
I don't think so, no.
6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?
Ao3. One time ao3 logged me out and I was like: "What are you doing? I live here!" I do have fics on tumblr that have over 100 notes and I have no clue how that happened, especially when I look at interaction now. Interaction and fandom as a community are just dying on this website. Oh, and fanfiction.net was so horrible that I deleted all my stories from there and never looked back.
7. AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?
3,125,805. I'm more than satisfied. I'm stunned. And for some reason self conscious? I've had people call me crazy for writing so much fanfic, especially for the same fandom, and it just hurts, because this is my passion. What did you think I was going to do? Hit 1 million words and stop writing? No fucking way.
8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably?
Movies and shows: How to Train Your Dragon, Good Omens, Teen Wolf
Books: Hard to say because I only really recently got back into reading. I haven't written fanfic for a book since I wrote a single Captive Prince fic. Oh man, Captive Prince was so good. Thank you pro censorship people for recommending it! (People got so mad about it and the themes in it that I decided I had to read it. So worth it.)
Fics: I'm so, so gripped by @lifblogs Bad Batch fic: Brother, Hold Me Up. That thing is an absolute work of art.
9. What's the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it?
I think the highest compliment I got was someone reading Infernal Fascination of all things with their book club. Like, this person would give me updates about what was said during meetings and they just devoured it. It was awesome.
10. What defines your writing style?
Visceral description and poetic prose. I like to think.

🍓 mwahhh 🥺💙💛
rahulllll i could compliment you all day long lbr..... you're kind and lovely and funny and smart and make the stupidest best funniest shitposts but also always have very interesting things to say about whatever it is you're passionate about, spurs, football in general, skz, eden, music in general, movies, politics, you name it. also, weird compliment maybe, but you have great taste in comfort media. i mean merlin ? thupparivaalan ? 2 fathers ? reply 1988 ? does the cl semi count i say it does so that too ? just great taste. but also in general. i love how passionate you are about spurs, how loyal you are, both in 'sillier' things like football and in 'more important' things like friendship. you're one of the strongest people i know, for real, life can be rough but you always go on, always find a way to keep moving and remain as positive as possible and i admire that so so much! you're so talented like what can't you do?? amazing writer, fantastic gifmaker, great at giving advice and comfort and support, so good at languages, knows how to rap, can survive angry cows (it was cows right?) ETC ETC likeeee. sorry, you asked for compliments, i have so many things to compliment you for cause you're just incredible like that. literally my best friend and sometimes i still am so amazed that *i* could be your best friend too if i still am bc like you're so wonderful i don't. know how little old loser me could ""compare"". but anyway back to compliments DID I EVER TELL YOU that i love the way you use emojis and reaction images/gifs i mean i think you know i tend to 'adopt' your emoji use bc it rubs off on me but it's also just that i find the emojis you choose and how you use them soo funny and also genuinely endearing. also how do you always find the best reaction gifs. that klopp gif you sent me the other day (was it yday ??) killed me dead i swear i was somehow simultaneously speechless and rolling on the floor laughing. am i rambling, yes, well, i don't want to end this ask bc. I Love You So Much and it's been almosttttttttt (🤏🤏) exactly FOUR years of our friendship and it seems so crazy cause it feels like it's been a lifetime, you know? like i can't believe sometimes that we didn't grow up together? that we've never seen each other irl? hanged out at a café? watch football live? went to the cinema together? like all that stuff. like obviously i Can believe it bc i wish we had sooo much but unfortunately we haven't but like i Can't believe it bc it seems like we've been friends forever? like we've been through everything together? and we HAVE been through a lot tgt. but yeah. crazy. only 4 years. but at the same time ALREADY 4 years? do you get me. idk man. i just really think you're one of the best people i know, and have ever known, and one of the most dearest people in my life and i can't imagine that ever ending even if sometimes i get scared we're gonna lose touch or idk disappear suddenly or stuff that often happens with online friends. but well, right now, we're still... us? rico 4ever and all that. i miss talking to you a lot every day but 2024 has been. A Year. and in the end we're still in each other's life and i think, more than anything, that's what i wish to never stop. we gotta be rico 4ever 4ever you know man? do i sound drunk. i'm not. i swear! lmao sorry but yeah you're just. rahul. my caro. and i couldn't ask for a better friend to be by my side through thick and thin 💛💙
