“With a fist!” he shouted, punching Thor... just for sport. Loki’s hand hurt and he could only imagine his brother’s pain. “Seems I got you good this time.”

Steve halted at the door when the thunderer took up the doorway with his impressively wide frame. “Oh- sorry, Thor, ‘cuse me,” he laughed a bit, his gaze drifting upwards to the mistletoe hanging above them. The captain’s cheeks tinged a shade darker as the realization hit him, looking back at the God, noticing he had seen as well. His heart rate picked up a little bit, not sure how to react. Thor had always seemed so laconic, he never quite knew what he was thinking or how he may react. “I-It is a tradition...?” he offered, tentatively leaning upward, pressing a small, rather chaste kiss on the immortal's lips.

“Good, because I do not intend to.” The trickster snapped, shooting a glare at the God of Thunder as he crossed his arms over his chest. He remained calm, almost passive aggressive, his voice and body language stoic and deadpan. The only hint of emotion laying in his emerald green eyes.

“What do you expect from me, then? Why continue to ask for forgiveness when you know you will not get it?”

“That must be uncomfortable for you.” Damn it. Stephen, remember that thing you used to be good at? It’s called flirting, and you just failed at it. Completely. In the company of Thor, God of Thunder. Kudos.

He shook his head, largely to dispel himself from the spell he was currently working on. It was a basic security ward at best, but he focused on it as he did all his other mundane maintenance tasks around the Sanctum, enough so that he could ignore what might indeed be a come on from one of the most attractive gods in existence. Not that he had a roster... He looked over at Thor where the bulky god sat lounging on his chaise, stein of lager in hand. “I mean. Well. I don’t know, really. Except maybe, what?”

Loki, a precocious (and wholly unaffected(tm)) teenager, is with his family for their yearly summer vacation in Italy. This summer, his father invites one of his graduate students, Thor, to stay with them to work on his thesis. Initially, Loki resents this intrusion (he doesn’t care how blue his eyes are or how warm his slightly crooked smile is) -- but it isn’t long before Thor begins to get under his skin with his wit and happy-go-lucky charm, and Loki finds himself being pulled into this man’s orbit. He realizes that he doesn’t really mind it, though. Not one bit.

His shirt was still hanging open- he was running late, and Steve hated running late more than anything. He was coming his hair, trying to get it to settle properly so he could finish getting dressed. A first date with Thor was kind of a big deal, though, and he was already messing it up. So when the god stepped into the bathroom, Steve shot a guilty look in his direction before continuing to fight with his hair. “I know, I know, I’m so sorry I’m taking forever. I can’t get my damned hair to just- and JARVIS was doin’ somethin’ weird with the shower, and- maybe we should just…” 

He went silent when Thor came over and nudged at him to get him to face him. His hands dropped to his sides and he gazed at the god, keeping still as the other man slid his fingers through his hair to fix it. Steve felt a tingle of electricity dance down his spine and bit his lip, leaning slightly forward toward Thor without thinking. Then those big hands were at his chest, buttoning the shirt he’d left undone.

Steve reached up to lay his hands against the god’s sides, unable to keep from smiling as one hand was plucked away and the button on his sleeve done. “I guess I’m just nervous,” he murmured. He didn’t glance away from Thor’s face as the other did up his second sleeve. “You look really great, though. Sorry I’m such a mess.”

“That explains the smell.” A groan passes between gnashed teeth as Loki pushes himself into a sitting position. It would also explain the ache in his bones, the pounding in his temples. He gingerly presses a hand to his side, cradling ribs that are undoubtedly bruised, if not broken. “Just a…. setback, is all. I don’t need your ‘friends’ to interfere.”
