Hmmmmmm. Borderlands? My brother tried to get me to play it with him, but it just... didn’t really appeal to me, I think.

Uhhh,,, maybe the Shin Megami Tensei series? The games look really cool and I really love jack frost, but I don’t think I could ever actually play them myself. I have heard they’re pretty hard.

Oh, or maybe MGS2. I fucking hate that game because my brother convinced me to fuck up on purpose and then I stayed too mad to try and beat it asidfhjasdfjkn

I tried playing RE4, too, but then my wii fucked up and deleted hours worth of progress and I was too upset to pick it up again.

I guess I enjoy these games tangentially? Not games that I would play myself, but I’d like watching others play them (watched Simo beat the last two games for me), or I just like the aesthetics of the game.

Ya know, for a very long while I used to kind of lump together all kinds and forms of confidence as like One Thing. Which...no it's not! I had to realize a while back I can have confidence in one thing about myself and not have confidence in another. And to me that's okay! Being fully confident of all aspects of myself does take a lot of time and effort.

Also like, not a whole lot of people bring up confidence and self assurance when thinking about me O.O so also yes this took me by surprise!

Did ya know I'm wanting to change it to like thunderjaw-[insert something here other than bussy], but I haven't really found something that can go with it as well as my current url is now.

Both versions of this song are nice but the acoustic version just hits great! she's got a lovely voice and the combo with simple instruments makes the lyrics so much more impactful imo. The lyrics are wonderful (even though they're toxic lmao) its the kind of romror songs I adore and its so fun to sing along to and listen to over and over

#despite some of it's milquetoast aspects and allegories#it's one of the last games that honestly and genuinely gives you so much freedom#of killing off the powers that escalate the mess from the past#like there's different ways to kill each leader#there's even the whole thing of being That Asshole and killing Everyone. Literally.#then there's the whole thing with how sidequests work#sure they didn't TRULY change the environment much#but the fact that the quests didn't have a Good or Bad way to do it#you either helped someone or hurt someone#it's not cut and dry#and other aspects of the game that at least make you consider how archetypes like those in the game reflect (in a very small manner) irl ar#we all know that the legion is TERRIBLE; HORRIBLE#and yet that mentality is prevailant in so many ways realistically#of course when I say this this isn't disregarding that this game is still from a very white lens#but the aspects that are talked about have been talked about before#there's very very few games that give you that sense of Not Everything Is So Cut and Dry#and Yet Everything Is So Cut And Dry all at once#and it's also a game that was designed under such stressful and near abusive circumstances#AND STILL came out as a buggy terrible game that's MEMORABLE#there's so many games today that are just as buggy and sometimes worse#that are just a glance in our memories#FONV and a few others are games that were crafted with love but were under so much coporate and captialist pressure#and still came out to be a damned cult classic is nothing to sneeze at#like yea like I said: the game isn't great and it takes so much for it to run it's entirety properly#and if you're EXTREMELY LUCKY you can play the whole vanilla game without it crashing#IF you're lucky#like...there's so much to the way this game shaped people nearly 10+ years ago that games nowadays WISH they had the same significance#and I can go on and on about the good; the bad; the ugly; the horrifying; and the cringe#but honestly it's a game that you just have to play to understand#or watch a thorough playthrough

Hmm...what was the Best Worst thing you had to deal with that was honestly very wholesome just way out of your league? If that cannot be answered (which is totally okay), what's the best worst game you've ever had to play and endure just to have closure in the story?

I'm not entirely sure if I've had something like that, so I don't think I can answer the first question. Sorry!

Worst game I've played with a compelling story...? Hmmm. I have Completionist Syndrome, so I have a tendency to want to 100% games I've played, even when I stop having fun with them lmao. (I usually do this by turning the game into a job/chore...)

But I guess the first one that comes to mind is Analogue: A Hate Story. It's been at least 5 years since I've played it (probably more), but I REALLY wanted to know what the story was behind the ship that seemed to have been abandoned. I don't think I really liked how it played, but I do like mysteries and solving stuff.
