The painting is called "Sisters of Mercy" and was painted by Howson in 1989. He explains the meaning of the painting in a 2005 Herald Scotland article:

This painting was done at a time when I was walking on the road to self-destruction [...] The man in the painting is blind, and he is troubled because there is no-one to guide him. He is clutching a red Bible, trying to find sanctuary in the cliff-edge church, but that is now derelict. Finally, he will be led over the edge and fall to his doom. The girls do not care and it is all a bit of fun for them. Obviously this is not my most optimistic creation, but I am glad when something moves people to question our existence.

Yeesh, take that as you may.

Fun fact: the original painting was sold at Christie's New York at a 2005 auction. The price? $186,000. Lucky Pete.

I need more dca fics to read, not just because they're all so cool and special and unique-

I want to collect their y/n's in my pocket, and bring back the y/nverse. All of them in a lil pocket dimension (the dca stay in their respective stories, this place is reserved for the self inserts and side characters/family to interact. The boys can have their own pocket dimension)

The y/ns live on the same street or apartment complex, being bunched into groups that are roomies

For example. Bamsara's Solar Lunacy y/n, Paper-Lilypie's CCRT y/n, and bones-of-a-rabbit's staffbot y/n. SB is there so CCRT can perform routine maintenance, plus CCRT can be a but messy, plus they could help clean up after ccrt's kids. SL is where, you may ask? Their room has been vacant for some time, but CCRT and SB keep it clean and regularly dusted, out of respect. They don't know if or when their friend will return, but they'll be welcome at any time.

Made a new Tossdir on Angmar but forgot how stingy the Before the Shadow intro is about giving out armor. He went to Fearless difficulty at level 4 and became probably my first alt not to achieve The Wary lmao

composite/mockup/whatever for my intaglio final! the background and text box will be mostly the same just with a half-tone pattern since we're screenprinting onto copper, then the alecto bit is going to be a line-etch and aquatint, maybe toner resist on the negative space behind her if i'm feeling edgy. this is gonna take me so long it's not even funny.

side note, this blog has been totally dead because i've only been making art for school lol
