Big Dragon ep 7

This episode has So Many Writing Problems.  Like, okay we’ve got 20 minutes of Sappy Date Montage without cutting and 20 minutes of like four different sex scenes without cutting.

Like, IDK, would it ACTUALLY KILL YOU to intersperse the two. (There were COSTUME CHANGES it wasn’t ALL one day!) This show feels like a list of scenes that they just handed to an editor and said “good luck!” 

And the LENGTHS they went to get that yin/yang promo shot in the show.  Guys.  It can just be footage for the trailer okay.  “this is the part of the day we spread rose petals everywhere for A Joke? and then strip naked and pose on a Entirely New piece of furniture with an artistic red cloth over our junk.

The show is so well shot and I like the actors a lot and like I feel like everything has PROMISE but please I feel like you don’t want to be making a show based on This Source Material. 

Dear god why hasn’t Yai apologized for fucking DRUGGING MANGKORN.  Like their relationship began with unconsentual sex pollen and like...we just don’t address it.  When they had MANGKORN apologize to YAI in this ep I was sure they’d finally address what Yai did, but NO.  WTF. 

Plus they kink-baited me.  Don’t give me a MC with canonical sub kink and have a ball gag in the first sex scene but once they get together it’s vanilla as shit.  How BORING.  HE HAD A DOM.  Kink doesn’t go away once you love someone.

Anyway, this show is like close enough to something that could have been good to frustrate the shit out of me. 

The best thing about this show remains the gifsets of the sex scenes.  Like they are very lovely scenes aesthetically.  I just wish they meant more in context.

It does make me eager to see what this pair/company/director do next, tho.  Just...find a writer.

Look the main narrative problem in Big Dragon is that Yai (Yhai) starts the show as such a fucking piece of shit that I cannot believe he got fucked good enough to calm down That Much into a Real Human Person in two (2) fuck sessions.

Like, no WAY is Mangkorn’s D that powerful. 

So I still do not care about Yai’s human problems or sympathize with him.

What is with this show and pacing?

  Like we could just get rid of ep 4 almost entirely and take more than 2 seconds to go from “you’re cheating, we’re punching each other, I’m blackmailing you into sex, we’re fucking, and now we’re domestic boyfriends in a serious relationship and breaking up because we haven’t shared everything.”

Like I’m sorry did we lose two weeks somewhere? 

Yes the conversation at the end of the ep was confusing but I mostly followed except for the fact that last night you were punching each other and Yai had to be “forced” into having sex and refused to admit he was even INTERESTED in Mangkorn.

ARGH. 

Honestly I feel like this show is like 70% ingredients of a good show?  I think the actors are good, the cinematography is good, a lot of the direction seems on point, but the writing is sloppy and the editing is questionable.  Like I would be very interested in what this team did NEXT.

IDK IDK.  The sex scenes are hot.  I just can’t connect emotionally with the characters despite some strong performances because the plot and pacing is so bonkers.

Big Dragon ep 2

One minute into ep 2:

Wait, so collars and leashes WERE involved in the night?  This was a much longer event than we were actually shown, huh?  Damn.  👀 (Look you give me the promise of BDSM I show up, I’m a simple sub.)

My secondhand embarrassment isn’t going to let me live through this doctor scene.  I skipped through it.

I do enjoy the bodyguards, though.

Oh no, oh no, Mangkorn is there, oh no....I am in a ball.  Sorry, no idea exactly what happened or was said in that scene.  I could NOT.

Am I supposed to sympathize with Yai somehow because his dad possibly has a girlfriend?  Dude grow up you’re being a jerk.  Seriously, he needs someone to beat his ass on the regular until he starts behaving...

Yai’s female friend: “Hey you wanna come to this party with me?  I hear there will be a really hot guy there?....”   Yeah Yai you’re coming off as straight, sure....

Oh baby...oh baby boy sure you’re just gonna stare longingly at the scantily clad man you despise and get jealous of the girls he’s talking to. 

This show....help.  Gonna need more smut scenes to get through this.

Big Dragon Ep 1

Okay I’m not sure if I’m eagerly anticipating this or dreading it but I’m watching this show.  I also don’t know if I’ll enjoy it sincerely or not but, uh, let’s go.  (I get the vibe this show will be fun to watch vicariously so I’m starting with liveblogs.)

I guess I’ll cut for spoilers.

Okay so this whole opening (after the initial premise tease) with the Chinese mythology stuff is like, WAY too high class for the entire vibe I’ve gotten about this show. 

And I’m not disappointed because like the next scene is both leads screwing ladies hornily in public places.  We love messy bisexuals?

Ok what is with all the architecture schools in Thai BL. (I may have watched some of Love in the Air, I don’t know if this is a coincidence or a trend.)

OH so Yai is fucking TERRIBLE PERSON, and that’s why it’s going to be enjoyable to watch him suffer...I get it now.

A terrible person with secret date rape drug codes with his bodyguards???

a terrible person with stashes of drugs and codes to administer them to people in secret AND a wall of BDSM equipment???  Oh...it’s gonna be THAT kind of trash...😲🤩

So...yeah, this is definitely a Show, alright.  It does have the Kinnporsche feel with seasoning of Advance Bravely.  IDK I certainly wasn’t sure about KP at first either, but I’m not exactly getting the impression that this show gets BETTER.

However, it’s certainly distracting and therefore I think I’m gonna watch some more.

Not much to say on this one. 

The masturbation scene was quite well done, actually.  I think the introduction of Nine is interesting and I’m semi-looking forward to where that goes. 

Not sure what the explanation for “what that actually was” with the girl cause uh...yeah. 

The pacing on this show is bizarre and I’m was bored a lot this ep.

So I was going to comment on this idiot Yai not just taking the phone from the bag, but then we see him do that in this ep.  And he taxes all one of his braincell to come up with what to do with the thing, and settles on....putting it in a trashcan in full view...

Right.  And THEN.  Then he steals his fucking UNDERWEAR...  OMG.  I can’t with this idiot.

This.  This motherfucker....thinks the only place the file is is on his phone.  FOR SOME REASON.  When it was on a fucking FULL SIZE SD card, which uh, I’ve NEVER seen a phone that takes one of those.  You KNOW it was on a card because IT WAS YOUR CARD!!!!!

Like honestly normally I’d be mad at the writing for this stupidity but no, somehow I’m just mad at Tai.  He deserves it.

WHY?  You have the WORST taste dude.  This guy SUCKS.  Based on the last scene you’re just horny for a bratty sub.  Okay and he’s pretty, sure.  But seriously, his PERSONALITY.  I don’t think that much of you but you could definitely do better.

Show you’re trying to do feels but like...no.  You can’t win me over with some slow music.  It’s too fucking soon for genuine liking with these two.

Okay I wasn’t expecting a gay marriage statement out of ep 3 of this show.
