Only a few days in town and Daisy was determined to get to know Kismet Harbor. Sure, she had spent a month there a few years ago, but other than search for her sister, Daisy did not do anything else. There was nothing else that she wanted to do. However, she was turning over a new leaf and knew that it was not the right time to go looking for her half-sister, considering the town was gushing about Stevie's latest Instagram post. Daisy was looking for a table to enjoy her strawberry boba when the sight of someone stopped her right in her tracks. They'd kept in touch over the years, here and there, but she hadn't exactly disclosed she was moving to town. "M-Matt?" Daisy looked at him, jaw slack, "Wow, I- I wasn't expecting to run into you so quickly."

"Matt!" Hazal squealed as she spotted him as soon as she walked into Dough Depot. She told him she would stop by near closing as they were in desperate need of a catch up session. "Oh my God, look at you," she began to tease him, "you're like a whole different person, I don't even recognize you, it's been that long since I've seen you." In which it truly had felt that long as the two of them fell into whirlwind romances over the summer.

"Hey, sorry I am late," typical of Wyatt, though not because of his job this time. "We had a hard time getting Teo down," he sat down with a sigh, though it was not one of defeat. "I've always wanted kids," he laughed softly, "but they aren't kidding about that whole lack of sleep thing." He told his brother, "but enough about me, what about you? How was your trip? How are you and Logan doing?" Wyatt was excited to be part of his younger brothers life again.

Logan had been missing him desperately. She didn't realize how much she would miss him until he was gone and they were no longer in the same time zone. "Hi," she smiled brightly when he answered her facetime call, "I hope I didn't wake you, or have you not gone to bed?" Logan had a hard time keeping up with what time it was where he was, considering they were always trying to find a time to contact each other. "I got your postcard," she grinned, holding it up in front of the phone camera as she spoke about it, "it was absolutely adorable," the words written on the card had made her blush when she read them and did so now as she spoke of the postcard.

kismet harbor's 100th annual winter festival - snowperson competition

Though she wasn't competing, Beatriz loved looking at the snowperson's that were being built. "Which one has been your favorite?" She questioned Matt, whom she had been rebuilding a friendship with since she returned to Kismet Harbor. They hadn't known each other all that well prior to that her return with a few years between them, but she had remembered her mom telling her about how his significant other had gone missing. "These people are so talented with fake snow nonetheless."

"Yeah, seems we both have brother's in weird situations, huh?" She hadn't expected that to be a commonality that she had with her boyfriend but when he mentioned Wyatt and Mateo Jr, she put the pieces together. "I am excited for all the holiday stuff, together," she smiled at Matt, her cheeks turning pink with her admittance. "Holidays are so fun to me," she told him, "I love getting together with family and sharing all the love." @mattswheeler

"Yeah?" He said with a smile as he looked over at her. He was glad they were able to talk about it without it being awkward and figure out how to spend the holidays together. "I understand. I mean, I feel the same with Wyatt's situation. Mateo Jr. is adorable though." Matt did find himself loving his, well he guessed, nephew, but the situation was definitely one he was getting his head wrapped around. @loganxwalker

Cryptozoic Takes Batman to Japan and Challenges You to Play Quickly with Rick, Morty, and the Superfriends

We're closing in on the end of the year, which means that game companies around the world are preparing new releases for their first public showing at Spielwarenmesse, NY Toy Fair, the Festival International des Jeux, or one of the other trade fairs that kick off the new convention season. • U.S. publisher Cryptozoic Entertainment is sticking to its strengths, with most of the new titles revealed to date fitting into pre-existing game lines or featuring familiar characters, as with Rick and Morty: The Look Who’s Purging Now Card Game, a 2-4 player real-time card game that bears this description:

Get ready to unleash your purging instincts with Rick and Morty as you fight to survive the annual purge festival on an alien planet. Play your cards right and you'll make it out alive! Based on the popular episode of the TV show, Rick and Morty: The Look Who's Purging Now Card Game uses Cryptozoic's "Gryphon" card game engine to deliver real-time, easy-to-learn gameplay. Each player has a ten-card deck, and everyone plays at the same time to rack up kills during the festival, using either found items or Rick's inventions as weapon cards with all sorts of game-changing effects.

The "Gryphon" card game engine is not explained in any more detail, and aside from the four ten-card decks, this game includes 32 festival cards and ten weakness cards.

• This engine also shows up in Challenge of the Superfriends Card Game, a 2-4 player game in which each player uses their ten-card deck to call forth allies or use super powers to defeat the villains in the Legion of Doom. The other contents of the game are 32 objective cards and ten challenge cards, so hmm, we'll have to see these firsthand to know how they might differ, although you can create 57,000 different card powers, so there's lot of room to explore. • The various standalone titles in the DC Deck-Building Game franchise get a new mini-expansion thanks to Crossover Pack 8: Batman Ninja, which is based on the Batman Ninja animated feature (set in feudal Japan), with players becoming Batman, Catwoman, Robin, Red Robin, Red Hood, or Nightwing. More details about this pack, which is due out in Q1 2019, the same release period as the two items listed above:

The Super-Villains — The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Deathstroke, and Two-Face — are the daimyos who battle from within giant castles that come to life. When the fifth one has been defeated, the five castles merge to become one final titanic challenge. The card backs of the Super-Villains each form a portion of the giant merged castle, with The Joker's head at the top. Each Super-Villain has colors on its four sides matching the main card types: Hero, Villain, Super Power, and Equipment. During your turn, if there is a card matching one of those types in the Line-Up, you must take the card and place it next to the corresponding side of the Super-Villain. When you defeat a Super-Villain, instead of placing it in your deck, you earn each card attached to it. The new keyword "Ninjutsu" provides the heroes some much-needed help as they take on the fearful might of the combined Super-Villains' super castle!

• DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth was announced in February 2018 as a 2018 release, but as Cryptozoic's Matt Hyra and Dekan Wheeler noted in this BGG thread, development on the game continued beyond what they originally expected — Wheeler: "we realized it needed more testing and tweaking as we hope to make it a very unique experience" — so now the company expects to release Rebirth no earlier than mid-2019. • Aside from these licensed titles, Cryptozoic has a word-based party game of sorts from Jeff Lai titled Wizard Words that is for 2-6 players with a playing time of only six minutes! Here's an overview of what's going on:

"And like you said, they were all really nice at that Dungeons and Dragons night." Not that she thought Matt would lie to her but rather she had been more nervous to meet the people that knew him so well. "My brother's been giving me a hard time about us, which is something else considering he's not so great at the relationship thing."

After their first date ended in what Logan would call success, the two of them had agreed to go out again. Though, delayed by the wind storms in town, when the evening of their said date finally rolled around, Logan felt giddy with excitement. She left work, having touched up her makeup and ran a brush through her hair before heading over to Critical Roll Games and Collectibles where Matt said to meet her. Walking up to the front after parking her car, it looked closed but she was able to open the door anyway, "Matt?" She called out in confusion, wondering if he was even there or if he had forgotten.

"Mattttt," Hazal partly sang his name as she walked up to him at the table he was already sitting at, "How long has it been?" She chided him, though she still wore a smile on her face as she leaned down to give him a hug before finding her seat across from him at the table, "you know rumors travel fast around town and rumor has it you've been seeing someone?" Her brows wiggled in a playful manner, "Is that true or is it all smoke and mirrors?"

After finding out the truth of Matt's girlfriend, the relationship between brothers had shifted for the first time in years into a positive light. He had let Matt hate him for all these years and now, they were actually figuring out how to be friends with each other. Grabbing a table, he had ordered himself a drink before he spotted Matt, "Hey," he lifted his hand in a wave at his brother, "I can't promise I'm any good at trivia, but that's what makes it fun, right?"

Since his reconciliation with his brother, their relationship had been one that he never thought they'd have. With how busy his life had been since Nel moved in and the baby only a few short weeks away from arriving, it had been a while since he had seen his younger brother. "Hey, Matt," Wyatt walked up to him as he spotted him in the lobby of the police station. "Ready to grab a bite to eat?" Wyatt had worked straight through his lunch and was looking forward to sitting down for the biggest meal he could get his hands on.

She told Matt as they walked toward the field, "Honestly, I hate to admit that I would just get them from the grocery store because I just wouldn't have the time." East Haven seemed to work in alternate reality. Work was steadily busy for her, but not so busy that she couldn't enjoy having a life since she moved to town in May.

When Wyatt was invited over for family dinner, he always had reservations. It wasn't that he didn't get along with the family, it was because of how his younger brother and father got along. The tension was too thick to cut through with a butter knife and he hated to bring more tension into the room by showing his face. Considering him and Matt didn't get along as well. Showing up at the house, Wyatt let himself in, realizing that he was the first of the two brothers to show up. Wyatt moved toward the kitchen, kissing his mom on the check and calling out a hello to his father that was watching sports in the living room. At the sound of the door opening, Wyatt thinned his lips, bracing himself for what could be a long night, "Matt, hey,"

Karaoke had never really been here thing but that didn't mean she wasn't willing to try if that's what they were here to do. "I'm up for either, though I'm afraid to see how much joy you'd get out of seeing me up there."

Wyatt was on the night shift on and off lately, which usually meant that he needed coffee when coming off of his shift. He stepped into the busy coffee shop, not spotting anywhere to sit and take a load off after the long shift. There were plenty of people that he knew around town, but one in particular caught his eye. Ordering coffee and a few baked treats, Wyatt made his way toward Matt’s table. “I come bearing a peace offering,” he knew Matt wasn’t his biggest fan and he held out the treats that he had ordered up at the front. “Mind if I join?”
