Bea sat down, placing both of their drinks down on the table as she did so. "It's nice to have met a friend at work already," she'd only been at work about a week now, but everyone had already been so kind to her, "everyone is really so nice there."

Scotty sat atop of the kitchen counter, hands curled around a mug of tea that she had yet to take a sip from. The warmth spread from her palms to the rest of her body, keeping a simple smile on her face. "How are you feeling?" She questioned her sister, "Everything been okay?" It hadn't been a few weeks since she talked to Courtney but things had seemed to be off and she couldn't place her finger on it. "How's work been this year?"

"I'm glad we've been doing this more," Anthony started off, setting down the drinks and lunch time sandwiches that the two ordered. Since moving to town and growing closer with his brothers, he had been able to get lunch with Courtney on occasion. Sometimes Cohen could join and sometimes he could not but it meant that he got to know Courtney more and more each time. There was only so much he remembered about her when they were growing up, as Anthony was significantly older than his brothers. "How's work been, today?"

"Neither are you," Scotty rarely found herself capable of being mean after the relationships she endured. She did her best to treat everyone with kindness, even when they were not kind to her first or in return. "I mean, we met in this cooking class I was taking on a whim and she was there looking for inspiration, so to speak." She told Courtney, "The more time we spent together, the more time we wanted to be together and one morning we woke up married," she knew how impulsive it sounded, "and she went home and I followed not long after," hence how she ended up in Kismet, "it was a whirlwind romance, that's for certain but I've never been happier, Court." And that was the truth. "I'll always be happy to help, that's what family is for." @courtneyxblake

"Well that's very nice of you not to," Courtney said with a chuckle, "you're not mean at all." She didn't think Scotty had a mean bone in her body, and she hoped her sister felt the same about her. Excluding when they were small and got into arguments of course. Nodding, she pondered, "okay that's good to work with. And tell me again how it all went down." She was a sucker for romance, living in her own fairytale, she loved hearing of others too. "I hope not, and I feel bad that I can't give him new tools or something for work." She sighed, wishing she made more money, "and of course. I'll always take some help." @scottyxthomas

When Courtney invited Anthony out to some place called Boba Dream, he was hesitant. It sounded like a place that was meant more for people of his sister in law's age and not for men that looked like him. Yet, since moving to Kismet Harbor and having his life turned upside down once more, Anthony was trying to be more open to trying new things and make more of an effort to be close to his family once more. Anthony had planned to meet her there and spotted her standing near the line when he entered the building. "So," Anthony walked up to Courtney with a thin lipped smile, "What in the hell is boba?"

"I can imagine it's not something you can describe," even if that was in part, a lie. As crazy as she might have once thought her sister once was, as soon as she met Bridget, she knew that the other would be important in her life. And while she knew getting married right off the bat was impulsive and that could be considered crazy, she had yet to regret anything about it. "Me either," she shook her head, though she was agreeing with Courtney over their brother. "But I guess that's why we love him," she joked before a laugh escaped her at Courtney's words. "Oh, please," she rolled her eyes at her sister, "I didn't forget how to take care of myself, promise." She teased her, a smile cracking against her lips. "I'm glad to be here with you, really. I can't wait for all the holiday celebrations." @courtneyxblake

"Oh trust me, I do," she said with a grin and a light shimmy towards her sister, but in honesty she'd be happy to show Scotty around town. "I did, and I think Cohen did too," she sighed as she probably knew she'd marry her now husband before she was even out of grade school. Her eyes got wide finding out her sister thought she was crazy but she figured most people did anyway so it wasn't too shocking. "It's something you can't describe," she could feel herself blushing and getting all giddy as she spoke about love and how much she had it for Cohen. Then shifting focus to their brother, she rolled her eyes. "He is one for dramatics, and always has been. So I couldn't see him doing anything else either," shaking her head, though she absolutely adored their adopted brother. "Okay good, I was about to go all mom on you for letting it lapse," she said while playfully wagging a finger across the table. @scottyxthomas

Anthony returned the small smile as she squeezed his arm. It was not something he was used to. He had gone so long without affection that it still managed to catch him by surprise though it was something that was heavily gone through when he was in the rehabilitation center. "I'd agree," it was a sentiment that he found himself going by lately. "I do," Anthony nodded his head at Courtney's words, "I appreciate that," he cleared his throat, rubbing his chin. "You by chance free for dinner? I haven't had the opportunity to eat, yet." @courtneyxblake

Courtney offered up a soft smile, remembering everything he had gone through. She was glad he was working and getting out there instead of just sitting at home with his thoughts. "Sometimes that's all you can ask for," she said, gently squeezing his arm, reassuring him. Okay was better than bad, though of course it wasn't great. Her face perking up as he mentioned that he was staying a while. She shook her head, "no he hadn't said anything. But that's great to hear. And you know we're both here for you right? Only a phone call away." @anthonyxblake

"I love that for me, really, you probably give the best tours in town." Scotty complimented with a bright smile. "You did know that early," Scotty found herself laughing with the recollection of the memory that Courtney brought up. "I used to think you were crazy, if I'm being honest," she teased her older sister, "but that's only because I didn't understand it," and she did now, in some sense. She wasn't ten years old when she met Bridget, but she certainly knew that the woman was going to be someone special to her the moment that they met. "Oh Lord," Scotty laughed, an eye roll following. "Of course he did, I suppose I can't expect anything less from Seb." She shook her head, though she wore a smile, "Honestly, yeah, I mean, there was no reason for me to drive in Paris. I kept my license up, don't worry, I liked to leave Paris every now and then and drive, but it wasn't something I did like daily or anything." @courtneyxblake

"Well you've always got a tour guide for a sister," she replied with a grin, always happy to help her sister (or anyone) get acquainted with the town. Shaking her head, she didn't think it sounded crazy, "I don't think it's crazy," shaking her head, "me, of all people. The one who knew by the age of ten that I'd marry the cute boy next door." Fate should have been her own middle name she thought, but she understood what her sister meant. Then shifting her expression, she smirked, "Sure did. Showed up at the front door with a suitcase and barged right in, thought he'd be sharing the bed with Cohen too," she giggled knowing it was just like Sebastian to pretend like that but she wouldn't have it any other way. "Yeah, a car is definitely a good idea," she then looked at her sister, a bit shocked, "you really haven't driven in a while? Like 'your license had lapsed' a while!?" @scottyxthomas

"I am looking forward to exploring it more." Which she was. Scotty typically didn't lie and she hadn't about anything thus far, she was just leaving out the very big fact that she was married. "Yeah, kind of like fate," she laughed, "I know that sounds crazy," for someone that had been in the type of relationships that she had been in, fate was not exactly what she believed in but there was something about Bridget that had caused her to think otherwise. "No, he didn't?" Scotty gasped at Courtney's words, "I suppose we can't be shocked, he does like to get a rise out of people." Namely the sisters. Scotty nodded her head, "Yeah, it can be," she told Courtney, "I'm glad to hear it's not so bad here but I plan on getting a car, after I retake my test. I haven't driven in a few years," admittedly there was no reason to have a car in Paris. @courtneyxblake

"It's a lot different than back home I won't lie but it's really amazing," she could go on and on about Kismet and how her and Cohen had made a life there and how perfect it was. But she didn't want to bore her sister and heaven forbid, scare her away. Shaking her head, "I know I don't have to, but I still wouldn't want to treat you sometime. As your big sister, I still like to spoil you when I can," though unfortunately it didn't happen too often, but one day she'd be able to and not have to worry about it. Listening to her sister talk about Paris and then moving here, her lips curled into a smile, "Oh wow, that's amazing." A bit of a chuckle left, "kind of like fate huh?" She asked, taking a sip from the drink in front of her, "at least you didn't show up at my door and make believe you were moving in. That's what Seb did. Thankfully Cohen wasn't home because despite them being close, I think he would have thrown him out." Shaking her head at the scene that had unfolded a few months ago, "is it that bad? I mean we don't have any trains here though. But the busses are okay at least." @scottyxthomas

"Well, I won't point out any examples," she teased her sister. "I'm not that mean of a sister," Scotty laughed softly before sticking her tongue out at her sister. "I am not sure, maybe something to do with our anniversary," she told Courtney, "a necklace or something," she hummed, "I doubt he's sick of it, Court," Scotty smiled at her sister, "do you want my help? I mean, I want you to be able to give him the best Christmas possible." @courtneyxblake

"Am I ever wrong about anything?" Courtney joked, teasing her sister a bit as they walked along, perusing the stalls. She knew Scotty would do something special for Bridget, their first official holiday as spouses and Courtney was so excited to see it and hear all about it. "Have any ideas? Is there anything I can help with!?" She asked, probably getting a little too ahead of herself but she wanted to help. "No, I know, but I'm sure he's sick of things I've made, there's only so many paintings I can make or hats or socks I can knit. Plus he works so hard and I just want to give himself that he truly deserves. I know it's silly though." @scottyxthomas

"I am," she nodded her head, though not wanting to deep dive on her adjustment into Kismet Harbor when it was clear that something was wrong with her sister. At the mention of a pregnancy scare, Scotty fought back her jaw dropping to the floor at the admittance. That was not at all what she had expected. "Shit, Court," she blew air over her lips. "I'm so sorry. Why did he run out? I mean I love Cohen and all, but," she shook her head, "I don't love that he did that." @courtneyxblake

Courtney averted her sister's gaze, opting to look at the ground at her feet. She knew Scotty was on to her, though she wasn't exactly in the head space to discuss what had happened. But she knew she'd have to eventually, especially with her sister. Nodding, she lifted her gaze back up to meet Scotty's, "that's good. Adjusting to life in Kismet alright?" She asked with a soft smile before running a hand through her hair. "I, uh," she started to say, swallowing the lump in her throat, "Cohen and I, we had a pregnancy scare last month." She confessed before her lip quivered a bit, "and he ran out at first. When I thought it was positive, he ran out and stayed out overnight but he came back and we tested again and it was negative." Once she started to tell her sister she couldn't stop. @scottyxthomas

"Yeah," he nodded his head while he slowly swirled his drink. "I've been thinking about it for a while now," he admitted to her. "Something stead, you know? I mean, I don't mind the hustle, but it's been hard to stay consistent with the weather being the way it is," he told Courtney, "Thanks, Court," her offer did make him smile a bit wider as he leaned forward a bit. "I just want somethin' steady, consistent." He was not a man meant to sit still for very long. "Been a while since I've really had to think about what I want to do, you know?" @courtneyxblake

Smiling, she nodded back, "yeah," taking a sip of her drink, watching her brother in law. "I can imagine, hopefully it stops raining so much soon though," she offered up with a gentle smile and a shrug of her shoulders. Though she didn't have her own car, instead sharing a truck with Cohen, she understood that people didn't want their cars cleaned when it was rainy or snowy out. It just would get dirty again so quickly. As Anthony mentioned a new job, Courtney perked up, her eyes widening. "Oh?" She asked, and definitely interested in his thoughts, "anything specific? And is there anything I can help with?" @anthonyxblake

"I think I will too," though a lot of that had to do with Bridget James thus far. Though as far as anyone was concerned, they'd connected when Scotty took the leap of faith to move to Kismet Harbor and long behold, Bridget was looking for a roommate. "You never have to worry about that," she didn't want her sister to stress about money just to be able to take her out. "Paris was surreal, of course, I loved living there but funnily enough, Bridget, the girl I live with," her wife, "I met her in Paris while she was there and we got talking and it honestly felt like fate she was from Kismet and then I heard Seb was moving closer, so why wouldn't I do the same? I'll miss it, certainly," she told Courtney, "though I won't miss the horrendousness of getting around, I thankfully could walk a bit but don't get me started on the trains." @courtneyxblake

"It's been such a dream here honestly, and I think you'll love it just as much," she reached out to squeeze her sisters hand. Having been here for almost three years, Courtney had grown to absolutely love the town and everyone in it. She had made such amazing friends and now she had her brother and sister in town (as well as cousins). "I definitely appreciate it and you. Though hopefully once I start saving up, I can treat you to some too," she sighed, knowing she didn't exactly make a lot of money. "It's surreal to have you here honestly. Between you and Seb, I'm loving it you know? But enough about me. How was Paris!?" @scottyxthomas

"You are not wrong about that," she had been in her share of relationships, though they had not been the best of ones. Yet, in the beginning, the first holiday was always the most special for them. They fooled her into thinking that it was love and maybe it was, but it never lasted. "I plan on making it as special as I can," she absolutely adored Bridget and wanted to show her that she did. "I don't think the price matters as much as the sentiment behind a gift, you know? Some of my favorite gifts are handmade items." @courtneyxblake

Laughing, Courtney rolled her eyes back at Scotty and playfully stuck out her tongue. It was certainly a shock once the news was dropped during Thanksgiving nonetheless, but Courtney was happy for her sister. As long as Scotty was happy, so was Courtney, and she'd be there for her sister no matter what. "Good the first one is a biggie," she reiterated, yet her own first Christmas with Cohen as her husband was well over ten years ago. And their first Christmas as a couple, even longer than that. "I wish I could afford something really good and expensive for him, maybe something for work," she shrugged before adding, "I haven't the slightest idea." @scottyxthomas

"That's good," Anthony nodded his head. Working at a car detailing shop was not something that he had ever expected himself to be doing but neither was being captured and presumed dead. Life was full of surprises in that way. "I'm doing okay," he told Courtney, not wanting to burden his brother's wife with his own troubles. "Cohen tell you I'm sticking around a while? I got myself an apartment," he wasn't sure how much his brother shared as Anthony became more settled in Kismet Harbor. @courtneyxblake

Courtney's face softened as she watched and listened to Anthony. "I see," she replied, with a nod of her own head. She knew he had gone back home before moving here, but she didn't know any of the specifics. It hadn't even crossed her mind about her parents living next door to his. It was just something that she felt like had been that way forever. Of course she knew he had been older when they moved in, she had known him back then. Barely, but all the same. "It's okay," she reassured him, with a gentle smile. "Yeah work is great," crazy but great, she didn't say, "how about you? Really. How are you doing?" She asked, as he was still family and wanted to make sure she checked in with him. @anthonyxblake

"No, I guess not," trying something new was something that was new to Anthony. He had been hesitant to leave his comfort zone since returning to a normal life, but he had family with patience. He listened as Courtney listed off a few potential flavors that he could try, "Strawberry," he nodded his head as he agreed with the singular word that it would be the best flavor for him. "That feels like a safe flavor in trying something new." He wasn't trying to try too many things at one time. "How's work been for you?" Anthony questioned, wanting to get to know his sister-in-law more. "How long have you been working there?" @courtneyxblake

Leading them inside, she held the door for both her and Anthony, before getting onto the line to order. She hadn't had Boba tea that often but instead leaving it as a nice little trwat, both health wise and money wise. But she was hanging with her brother in law and she figured she could splurge on it a little bit. "Yeah, doesn't hurt to try it," she offered with a soft smile and a nod before reading the menu behind the counter. Pausing for a moment to try to remember which ones she had, she turned to Anthony, "I usually get either coconut or strawberry. But I heard match is always good and same with lychee." She nodded, after suggesting a few, "if you like strawberries, I feel like that's a good starter flavor." @anthonyxblake
