Wesley was looking for a gift for his office party's white elephant, dragging his sister along with him. "Did we ever decide who is hosting Christmas?" He questioned Bridget, knowing that the holiday was coming up faster as the days went on. After Thanksgiving, the rest of the days were easily a blur. "I'm sure I'll end up at two Christmases depending how we do it, since I'll want to go to Amayah's family as well.

This was not how Julieta had expected to spend her evening. Quentin had been injured and though she knew it was wrong, she had been wondering if their relationship was worth continuing when she could see that they already had different ways about them - especially when it came to kids. With flashlights lighting some of the gas station, she left Quentin and his son in attendance with some others as she told him that she was going to look for a snack. "What do you recommend?" She questioned, turning to the woman, "I mean, as far as gas station snacks go."

"I hope you are close to finishing up," she teased Bridget as she walked up to the counter where the woman was sitting, "The tree lighting is coming up and I am dragging you with me since Julian is ditching me for his new girlfriend." She playfully pouted, though she was really happy for her boss, her best friend. Dana had never wanted anything for Julian but for him to be happy, especially outside of his career. "I brought a little treat for our hot chocolates, too," she peaked the small flask out of her bag.

"Good, you better," he gave a small smile at his sister. He never wanted her to feel like she couldn't come to him, no matter what was going on his life, good or bad. "Hey, hey," Wesley shook his head, reaching out to pull his younger sister into a hug as he watched the tears brimming around her eyes. His arms wrapped around her and he pressed a soft kiss to the top of her head, "No one wants to be hurt, Bridget, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but one wouldn't know what happiness feels like without pain, okay?" He told her, holding onto her still. He wasn't sure if he wanted to let go now, wanting to protect his sister. "You don't have to be fine on your own," this time Wesley did pull back, looking down at her as his hands rested on her shoulders, "we all can be fine on our own," hell he had to live without Amayah for the last ten years but now that she was back, the hole in his heart felt filled once more, "but that doesn't mean we should." @bridgetxlevitt
She looked at him and nodded. "Okay. I'll try to remember that." She told him and took a deep breath. It was just something she always did. If she felt like she would burden her brothers with something, she didn't tell them. Not even Wes. It was why she tried to keep how bad their mom had truly gotten to herself as a teenager. She could handle it. They didn't need to worry. Until it just got to be too much. The tears kept threatening to spill over and she shook her head. "It can't be, Wes. I need to not want these things. I can't end up being hurt like you or Quentin or Brady. Or Mom." She swallowed and shook her head. She hadn't told him or anyone that before. The pain of what their family had been through was hard to watch and she saw how her mom handled their dad's death and then both Brady and Wesley losing a baby and Quentin's marriage falling apart. She couldn't do that. Not with Tyler. It'd break her. "I appreciate that, but it's just easier, okay? I can't be with him. I'm fine on my own." @wesleyxlevitt

"Don't tell me you brought me more sweets to try?" Wesley pretended to groan, as if it were the worst thing possible to happen to him. "I am going to have to go to the gym ten times over to work off whatever you brought me." Not that he was complaining when Bridget clearly got the baking talent out of all of the Levitt siblings. "I'm kidding, obviously, what did you bring by? I'm starving for dessert."

It was the end of the night and Wesley had stopped by the bakery. Though he saw Bridget often, he had been rather holed up in his home since Amayah came back to town. "Hey, B," he smiled as he walked into the bakery while she was closing up, "so I guess you probably know why I've been M-I-A," Wesley chuckled, "Amayah and I are back together."

"That's great," Julieta could tell that the woman looked happier but that was merely woman's intuition. "Well, color me intrigued," she teased Quentin's younger sister with a sly smile pushing the corners of her lips upward. "I won't pry," she knew that it wasn't her place to do so as Quentin's girlfriend. "Still," Julieta continued, "I know I personally am very grateful, and really, thank you, for being so welcoming of me in this last year." @bridgetxjames
She smiled a bit and nodded. "I have felt happier since then." The trip was eye opening and it really made her happy. The whole thing was just amazing. There was a part of her that wished she could tell everyone, but she knew how it would come off and she didn't want that. "Thank you." She said before taking a deep breath. "Yeah. I mean, about my trip." She clarified a little; a blush filling her cheeks. "And no, really. I think I've been thanked enough for it." @julietaxalvarez

Wesley knew that there would be no changing of his sister's mind, all he could do is make it known that he was going to support her no matter her decisions. "I'll be here, no matter what happens, okay, but don't spend the rest of your life miserable," Wesley reached out, wrapping his arm around her shoulder to bring her shoulder to him, "I'll help you pack if that's what you need." Not that he'd want to see her go, but he knew the healing power it had. All he had to do was look at Amayah. @bridgetxlevitt
END.
She looked up at her brother. "And you're lucky. You got her back and I'm sure you guys are gonna be happy." She bit her lip. "I just want to save myself the heart break when it ends badly. Or I lose him. I'd rather.... I'd rather lose him on my own terms than lose him any other way." Bridget shrugged. "Maybe I should move. Get away from it all. Maybe somewhere else I can move on." @wesleyxlevitt

"It wouldn't?" Wesley was rather skeptical of the whole thing, "Love like that doesn't just go away, Bridge," he gave her a sad smile, "you know I still carry the engagement ring around for Amayah. For ten years," and he had it in his pocket now. "I want to see you happy and I don't think denying yourself of love is going to make you happy, especially if that person is Tyler." @bridgetxlevitt
She shrugged and wiped her cheeks. "I don't know. He hasn't said anything." Though, the way they kissed... how could she think that he didn't? There was always so much passion there. So many feelings. She was sure he still felt something for her, but she didn't know if he still fully felt how she did. "But even if he did, it wouldn't change anything." @wesleyxlevitt

Wesley could disagree with her, wanting to say that it didn't matter if it was his job or not. He'd do it anyway. Whether Bridget ever asked him to or not. "Do you at all think he feels the same way? That he never got over you, too?" He knew what that was like. Ten years apart from Amayah hadn't changed a single way he felt about her. They'd picked up right where they left off. @bridgetxlevitt
She looked up at him. "It's not your job to do so." She said and took a deep breath. "And you don't know that, Wesley. I could. Losing Tyler... I think it'd break my soul." She said and bit her lip. She could understand to a point why her mother did it, but still, she didn't want to end up like that. "But I'm not. I'm really not. I can't even move on from him after all these years and I can't bring myself to tell him..." She shook her head. "I'm not strong. I'm just scared." @wesleyxlevitt

"Hey, getting your heart broken is a part of life," he reached out to his younger sister, his hand resting on her shoulder, "and you always have me to help pick up any broken pieces." He'd never let his sister go through something alone. "You won't." Wesley's tone was stern this time, not as soft as he had been talking to her. "You wouldn't end up like mom." He was shaking his head, hand falling from her shoulder. "You are strong, Bridget. Stronger than you give yourself credit for. And you don't have to be strong all the time for. That's what you have me, us for." @bridgetxlevitt
Bridget held in the tears as best as she could as Wesley hugged her. She wanted to release a sob, but refused to let herself cry over all this; as much as she honestly wanted to. "I'd rather just not have it at all if it meant I wouldn't get my heart broken." She said and looked up at him. "I have to be, though. I really have to be. If something happens and I lose him and I end up like Mom? I don't want to do it. "I can't." She said and wiped her cheeks as a tear escaped; looking up at her brother. "I just want to save me from all the pain of losing him or if something happens, losing a baby. I'm not made to handle it, Wes. I'm not strong enough." @wesleyxlevitt

"You are not going to ruin things for me by coming to me, not for a second." He never wanted Bridget to feel like she couldn't come to him, not when he valued their relationship so much. "It does matter what you want." Wesley said with a more stern tone, "Never say that, you matter. What you want matters. Even if it isn't always something you can have, that's not something to gloss over." He hated when Bridget cried, only because he knew he couldn't do anything about it, "You are important, okay?" @bridgetxlevitt
"I didn't want to ruin things for you. You deserve this happiness and to not worry about me." She nodded and smiled. "I know, but I like talking to you." Bridget told him before shrugging. "It doesn't matter what I really want. It's easier." She pursed her lips and tears lined her eyes. "I just don't want to..." She stopped herself and wiped her eyes. "Never mind. It's just easier." @wesleyxlevitt

Wesley raised both of his brows at Bridget, tipping his head to the side as she tried to deny what she had done. "I'm not going to tell him," he could understand why Bridget yelled at Summer, "I'm not going to lecture you either," Wesley knew better, in the sense that he knew that his sister needed to do what she did. "Come on, let's dive into these treats." @bridgetxlevitt
END.
"What? I would never do such a thing. And it hurts to know that you think that way of me, Wes. I mean really. Why..." She looked at him looking at her and knew he could see right through her. "Okay, fine. I did. And I'm not sorry for it. She deserves it after everything. Just don't tell Quentin. I don't want to hear it from him." @wesleyxlevitt

"We might have to cut the guest list if we use your apartment," he chuckled, teasing his younger sister. "You didn't know?" Wesley raised his brows at her, holding his hands up in mock surrender to her accusation. "Hey, now, I tell you everything, you've got to take that up with the others, because you're the one I go to first about things." Bridget had been there for him when he had let Amayah go to Cairo so that she could heal, both himself and her father knowing that was what was best for her. @bridgetxlevitt
"Isn't that what we're good at? Impeding?" She asked teasingly and nodded. "We can ask. See what they want to do. Otherwise my tiny apartment is going to be open." Bridget smiled up at him and nodded. "That it is." Her eyebrows creased and she looked at her older brother. "What? They did? Since when?" She asked and groaned. "I swear I hate all of you. You never tell me anything. Just because I'm the baby of the family doesn't mean I get to be left out." @wesleyxlevitt

Wesley looked at Bridget as she spoke of the interaction with Summer. Knowing his sister, he knew that the simplicity of what she was saying did not happen just like that. He blew air over his lips, shoulders sagging as he did so, "You yelled at her, huh?" Wesley would be mistaken to ask otherwise when he knew his sister well. @bridgetxlevitt
She nodded and moved through her brother's kitchen to get some coffee. "I have." She poured herself some and started adding in what she liked. "Outside of Patty's. She wanted to buy me a coffee and acted like we were sisters." She turned around. "I may have explained otherwise." Which was putting it very loosely, but she wasn't going to just spill what she had said. @wesleyxlevitt

"You shouldn't ever let that stop you, Bridget," he gently chided her. Wesley knew why his sister didn't come to him right away, but he didn't want her to do that again. "You're too important to me, and Amayah would understand. Hell, she's probably got better advice than me." He partly joked, knowing how kind the woman in his life was. "Is that what you really want?" @bridgetxlevitt
"The perfect one." She said with a sigh and shook her head. Bridget was always thankful for her brothers, but Wesley she was thankful for the most. She sighed and nodded. "You were just getting back with Amayah and I didn't want to step in and drop all my shit on you." She said and shrugged. "I'm fine. I... I don't know. I should've have done it. I should've left instead of doing it. I can't be with him again. It's easier." @wesleyxlevitt
