closed starter for @brknghrts ft. jude & jamie
it would be his luck that his bike would get a flat tire on the way home from his last class. not only that but his phone was dead and it was dark outside. he swore tonight couldn't get any worse. he heard a car stop behind him and despite his cold exterior, he was still a little afraid of what could happen in this moment. "i'm fine. don't need any help." he spoke without looking behind him and that's when he heard the foot steps behind him, indicating the other was approaching him. he turned, jumping slightly at the sight. "jesus christ, jamie. you scared the shit out of me. you could've said something."

jude let out a sigh of relief as he realized he knew the other. normally, if it had been day light, he would have rejected the other's help but he wasn't a big fan of the dark and so he gave the other a nod. "alright, sure." he nodded and grabbed his bike, "think you can help me lift this thing up? surely, you use those muscles for something other than looks, right?" he teased, obviously just messing around with the older male. he was thankful he managed to show because he certainly wasn't looking forward to pushing his bike back in the dark.
jaimie was coming home from a late basketball practice. he loved it though. he absolutely enjoyed it. he got the love of the sport from his dad, and it stayed with him. of course, he wanted to be just like his dad, and uncle lucas. but the late hours, meant always missing out on the fun stuff, like any get togethers or parties. even when he was driving home, he was debating whether to go out or just relax. he kept driving through the street, ready to leave the campus to go towards the apartments, when he recognized a familiar person, mainly the curls and the height. so when he parked the car, and heard his voice, that confirmed it for him. " hey jude. i see you actually need help, i'm assuming you don't like taking help from strangers, so luckily i'm not that, " he chuckled. " but it in the back of the jeep, i'll give you a ride. "

jude didn't expect much, especially because he knew that people grew up and they moved on. he couldn't hold that against him no matter what things were like before college. "you know she's going to do it one day. i don't think there's anything you can do to stop it but you can let whoever she's dating know that we've got eyes on them." he shook his head at the other went on, "you act like you're so much older than me. don't be ridiculous." he chuckled, glancing over at him from the passenger seat. he was going to go home but he wasn't going to say no to the other's offer. "alright, sure. i could eat some pizza."
" oh don't start, " he laughed. but he did feel bad that once he was in college he didn't do a better job to keep in touch with his close ones back home. he made sure to call his parents every sunday when he could. the thought of his sister dating, it was crazy, but she was growing up fast, but he was still that protective older brother. " good, because the more eyes on her the better. i don't want her dating anytime soon, " he chuckles. " listen, i can't even fathom that you are grown up just as fast. please stop growing, i don't want you to grow anymore, " he laughs. " so, where to ?? i was going to invite you over to my place if you want, order pizza, and have some drinks. we can see how to fix your tire. "

"yeah, that's what happens when you get older. anyways, maybe you would've noticed if you ever checked up on me." he teased back. jude could be bit of a smart ass but even so, jamie never seemed to mind and that was probably one of the many reasons he gravitated toward him. "hey, i can help. i'm not helpless-" even so, he didn't argue with him too much and instead, allowed the other to lift his bike into the back of his jeep. he made his way to the passenger seat and glanced over at the other, "i'm not a kid. you're only a couple of years younger than me anyways." he pointed out.
jamie kept his smile. it's been a minute since he had seen jude last. the last time was christmas, two years ago at his godmother's place. jude was not as tall as he was now. " you got a growth spurt, i see, " he teased. " i definetely can handle the heavy lifting, you can stand there next to the trees, " he grinned. he missed having a bit of fun with jude. while his brother always spent time with his little sister lydia, jude always seemed to gravitate towards him, and jamie never minded. jamie lifted up the bike, putting it in the back where his bag was. " throw your backpack back there too, " he nodded, before walking around to the driver's side and unlocking the doors for jude to get in. " get in kid, we have so much to catch up on. "
