Lio was grinning when she took his hand, bringing hers up and brushing his lips along her knuckles. After trying for so long to get her to agree to see him outside of just hookups he was feeling good about things. "Yeah?," he said his own smirk forming to match hers, "Good to know, I'll try to be on good behaviour to keep it that way." Leaning down to kiss her again he squeezed her hand, "My brother might be with them or he might already be Cosima, the birthday girl, which means Quill is a lost cause for tonight," he said shaking his head, "You already know Robin, but pretty sure everyone else is at the bar." As he led her there, the first familiar face he saw, he waved, "Yo Ruby," he called grinning when she turned.
As much as she didn't want to admit it, it did please Eva whenever she managed to fluster Lio; not only because he was super cute when his eyes widened like that, but because it actually made her feel like he was just as into her as she was into him. It made the comment that followed cut a little deeper than she thought it would, brief flashbacks to high school playing in her head, memories of always having to be the secret that was kept. She had to remind herself that he had invited her to the party. He wasn't trying to keep her a secret. "You can have me to yourself later," she replied with a smirk, slipping her hand into his and interlacing their fingers. "We have all night, don't we? It's cute that you want to introduce me to your friends. I want to meet them."

Gatorade - “Heart of a Lio”, the animated short film about Lionel Messi's life
Glory only happens when you sweat for your dreams. Gatorade presents Heart of a Lio, an animated short film about Lionel Messi. #HeartOfALio Gizmo, the Argentinian animation studio founded 14 years ago by Andrea Bacigalupo and Emmanuel Verruno, had the challenge of making "Heart of a Lio", an inspiring story about pursuing your dreams. It is a 4 minute animated short film with Lionel Messi as the main character. The script was created by the agency TBWA\Chiat\Day LA for the Global Gatorade Soccer 2018 campaign. This project was carried out under Ema Verruno´s, Flamboyant Paradise’s ( Directors duo Javier Lourenço and Antoine Quairiat) and Nico Presas’ direction. The production was made from its Gizmo’s headquarters in Buenos Aires and the team was composed by more than 80 talented artists. For this animated short film starring by Lionel Messi, the team worked an original aesthetic in which the design of stylized characters treated almost as sculptures with environments, textures and hyper realistic materials was combined. Beyond the stylization of these designs, cameras and photography have a more realistic cinematic search. “To achieve this animation work, we have studied Messi in all its ages, both in its sport movements and its facial expressions - happy and euphoric moments, as well as moments of frustration and anger - to arrive at a natural and credible result" commented Ema Verruno. “Regarding the story, we have sought more surreal resources for certain key moments in its history, either to highlight his feelings or to tell certain moments of his life in a more original way," concluded Javier Lourenço. “The film has a very cinematic treatment, just as it works in the great American and European animation studios," commented Antoine Quairiat. “We want to highlight the joint work we did with the agency in Los Angeles, creator of the script, especially with the global creative directors of Gatorade, Ariel Abramovici and Bruno Acanfora, who entrusted us with the project.” said Javier Lourenço. “Without a doubt the great challenge was to achieve a fluid thread through the different sequences for a piece of almost 4 minutes”, concludes Nico Presas. "We are more than satisfied with how we managed to tell this story that includes sequences of action, drama, comedy and epic”, highlights Andrea Bacigalupo. “The life of Messi is an epic story of overcoming, from his soccer beginnings in Rosario, through his health problems, to his achievements and sporting successes that transformed him into the greatest star of world football. That road of ups and downs is what we have tried to capture in the aesthetic variety of each sequence of the piece” Concludes Ema Verruno. With this new release, once again, Gizmo demonstrates why it has taken place in the global market of Animation studios, in the advertising market and in the production of Cinematics for the Gaming market. LOCATION: The Obelisk (Secret Bar in Dahlia's Speakeasy) FOR: Lio Harker ( @cyberneticatoms )
Eva glanced around the space as she waited for Lio to return with their drinks. When she had first seen him in the crowd, she had gone through a gauntlet of emotions—shock at him being there at all, unexpected joy when she caught his gaze from afar and he smiled, and an unnerving sense of jealousy when she realised that he had brought Ames along with him. However, her annoyance only lasted as long as it took her to see the former Miss United States make a beeline for Ike after the set. Robin hadn't been lying about that part. Her interest was clearly elsewhere.
Her gaze moved from where the two of them were sitting at a table with Zel and Julie, Zel's arm slung casually around the back of his girlfriend's seat, passing by a Val who was sprawled out on the floor next to Gizmo, and finally ending at the corner were Ian and Trixie were talking, seemingly unaware of the rest of the world around them. If she had known that adding Lio and Ames would make the evening into five different dates, she might not have suggested it, but she wasn't exactly unhappy with the outcome. "It seems like your attempt to wingman for Miss USA over there is paying off," she said with a wry smile when he rejoined her. "It's not as impressive as getting both Jovi's and Ian's on-again off-again partners to pay attention to them. But it's impressive."

Lio hadn't known when would be the right time to bring up the past to Eva, mostly acting like normal whenever they hung out. To be fair it wasn't like he wasn't busy, the fair and aftermath taking up more time than he'd like. Opening the door, he couldn't stop the smile that formed at seeing her though it wavered both at the look on her face and what she said. Trying not to sigh, he slowly nodded as he moved aside to let her in.
"Yeah, we talked about it a couple days later," he confirmed. Moving to the kitchen and taking out a set of over expensive wine glasses that Quill was likely to yell at him over using. "To be fair, we'd talked about it before, just didn't know you were that, Eva." Setting the glasses on the island between them. "I'm not gonna hold it against you if this is too weird for you now, you know?" he said nervously chewing on his lip.
LOCATION: Lio's Place FOR: Lio Harker ( @cyberneticatoms )
Before heading over, Eva had snagged a bottle of wine from the storage room at the Treasure Chest. She had also changed her outfit five times before settling on a cute but casual dress. Not that she actually thought that her clothes would change the outcome of the conversation, but since it was one of the few things that she could control in this situation, she'd latched onto it. Maybe she was more like Dahlia than she thought. "You know, don't you?" she asked, giving Lio a tentative look. "About my history with Ruby. I wanted to tell you. I was gonna tell you, I really was, but... You were so excited to introduce me to your friends and I just... I didn't want to ruin that."

Lio's eyes had flickered down as Eva took the drink from him, maybe a vague noise of agreement. Blinking in surprise and confusion when she kissed him, having been completely distracted. "Yeah told you it was....," trailing off. It felt like his brain was slowly trying to load up everything that had happened in the last 10 seconds. From her outfit to her kissing him, his eyes widening when she kissed him again. This time he brought his hand up to cup her face, brushing his lips against hers before letting her fully pull back. "You know I wanted you to meet some of my friends, but now I just want to keep you to myself."
Eva had tried three different outfits on before settling on the one that she was now wearing. She had opted for a slightly risqué top that hugged her figure, her bra visible through the sheer, black fabric; and as she turned to look at Lio, she found herself carefully watching his reaction. Not that she would ever admit that she had dressed up for him. "Well, I said I would," she replied playfully, taking the drink from him. After a moment of hesitation, she leaned up to press a quick kiss to his lips, before helping herself to a sip of the drink. "Oh, wow, yeah. That is sweet." She shrugged. "It's not bad, but I prefer the taste of this." With a smile, she leaned up again for a longer kiss.

Lio jumped when Eva suddenly called everyone's attention, shooting Ames an apologetic look. He knew she'd planned on asking Ike to the party and felt guilty, especially when Ike whistled and said fuck yeah. Which in turn with Julie's side comments, had all sides piping up whether free booze and food was worth it. He settled for just being happy Eva was siding on it being worth it and hoped Ames could work out whatever she was going for with Ike at the party.
Lio had done a little bit of pregaming, for once the statement actually surprisingly true. He didn't want to be completely trashed when Eva did show up, if she showed up. He was idly sipping at beer when he saw her walking in, watched most of them split off. "Hey, you made it," he greeted holding out a drink towards her, "So my brother paid to get a drink themed after the birthday girl, kind of ironic how sweet it is in my opinion."
Eva hadn't expected to feel nervous when he said it was his friend's birthday party, but she was, even if she did her best to hide it. It was one thing to spend time together at the club, among her friends, but another thing entirely to meet his friends. Perhaps that was hypocritical, but she was fairly confident that she would have to work a lot harder to fit into his world than he would have to work to fit into hers.
Maybe that was the reason she did what she did, or maybe it was because wording it as going together sounded far too much like a date, but either way, she turned to the rest of the room. "Hey, Duttons," she called out. "Wanna go to a fancy party? Lio's friend Cosima is having a birthday party and apparently it's an open invitation."
From the floor, Val popped their head up and nodded. "Hell yeah, free booze," she said, right before Julie could be heard from the other booth, laughing almost maniacally. "I'll be real, I'd rather lay down in a ditch and die. But y'all go have fun with the Devines."

"Sometimes I can be," Lio replied, an amused smile on his face as he watched her. He was idly sipping at his own drink before setting it down on the table. Laughing he shook his head, "No it's not a gala, I wouldn't drag you to one of those unless you want to spend a night semi bored."
On his left hand he tapped his forefinger against his thumb, going down the line of finger and back again. It was suppose to be an exercise, for making sure the nerves of his cybernetics were properly connected. Instead it had become a bit of a nervous habit. "It's my friend's Cosima's birthday party, thought it be fun to go together. Pretty sure Ames wanted to ask Ike to come to, and it's open invite if anyone else here wants to come."
Eva could feel the corners of her lips tugging up into a smile when he leaned in to steal another kiss. It was easy, far too easy to get swept up in Lio and his stupidly handsome face, and his stupidly effortless charm, and how when he looked at her like that, she could feel her heart skip a beat. She didn't want to fall for him, and she was trying very hard not to let herself, but she was starting to think that she already had.
"Haha, very clever," she replied with a slight roll of her eyes. She picked up her drink and had another sip. "So, you said you already have something in mind. It isn't one of those formal events where I have to wear a ballgown that I really can't afford, is it?"

Lio had an easy grin on his face, managing to ignore the occasional looks the rest of her friends were shooting them. It was a little more intimidating than the looks he was use to getting but he could manage. "Only some? Seems only fair you come with me once at least, even have something in mind," he offered.
He was caught off guard when she kissed him, briefly stiffening and staring at her in surprise. Barely waiting a beat before closing the gap again and pressing his lips against hers. Pulling back he glanced at her drink and then his, reaching over and refilling hers with his. "Think I can manage to fill your glass," he mumbled giving her a small smile.
"Yes, you are," Eva replied with an amused smile, and in spite of herself, she knew that she sounded happy about it. Just because she hadn't expected him to show up didn't mean that she wasn't thrilled that he had. "That may or may not have won you some goodwill. Next time you invite me somewhere I might be more inclined to say yes."
She subtly leaned into him when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and sipped her drink with a coy smile. "See, in my experience the glass often is half empty," she countered cryptically, holding his gaze for a moment before leaning in to press a quick kiss to his lips. "But I'm looking forward to watching you try to prove me wrong."

"I'm here aren't I?" Lio asked, an amused look on his face as he looked at her, "But if you need a 5 star review can always ask Ames about me." When she shuffled closer, his smirk softened into a grin, shifting his arm down to wrap around her shoulders. "See all I heard was I'm a good charmer," he quipped, "Glass isn't always half empty you know."
Eva shot a quick glance over her shoulder when she saw him move his arm, a charmed smile tugging at her lips that she mentally cursed herself for, and made sure to at least tone down before she looked back at him. "No, you haven't been subtle, but how do I know you're not all talk and no follow-through?" she questioned playfully, making no effort to move away from him. In fact, she might even have shuffled a little closer. "I never trust a smooth talker. And you're a little too charming for your own good."

"Why so surprised, don't think I've been subtle about wanting more time with you," Lio said, a half smirk on his face as he leaned back and set his arm on the back of the booth behind her. He hummed in thought before giving a shrug as he looked at her, "Well you seemed determined to brush me off, one of us had to give eventually, and I hate losing."
"You think correctly," Eva confirmed with a smirk, having a sip of her drink before setting the glass down on the table. She had not failed to notice that they were sitting very close to each other, and she cursed the part of herself that couldn't stop being aware of the scent of Lio's cologne, or how his leg felt pressed up against hers. This was rapidly becoming a problem. "So, you've already surprised me by actually showing up," she said with a chuckle, glancing away while nervously fidgeting with the straw in her glass. "I didn't think you would, but you seem determined to prove me wrong."

After getting the green light from Robin, Lio had immediately tried to convince him to come to the show to no avail. His best friend still a little salty over the whole Ian and Jovi thing. Lio really wasn't much like Quill when it came to the whole over analysing situations to his advantage. Bringing Ames was half purposeful to distract at least one member of the band and half just wanting someone he knew around. Eva had home field advantage so he needed at least one ally and Jesus fucking Christ maybe he was more like Quill than he thought.
Grabbing their drinks and just narrowly avoiding Gizmo and Val who seemed to be sending selfies to someone named Phelan. The two's legs almost tripping him multiple times. Sitting next to Eva and handing over her drink he snorted, "Doubt she needs me to wingman for her," he said shaking his head before raising a brow, "Robin is gonna be grouchy about that for a while but he'll get over it. Not like he can really be mad at Jovi's best friend forever. Least Ames isn't eyeing that twin, think then I'd be in the dog house with you."

Eva felt nervous but excited as she let Lio lead her toward the bar. She had expected to feel incredibly out of place among all these wealthy people in expensive designer clothing, but the handful of people she locked eyes with as they moved through the crowd only smiled at her; at the very least, they didn't seem to be wondering what the hell she was doing there. She wasn't sure if that was because Lio was holding her hand but she found herself holding on to him a little tighter as they reached the bar.
And then the girl he had called out to turned around, and Eva felt like someone had dunked a bucket of cold water onto her, eyes widening as they held each other's gaze. In the end, Ruby was the one to break the silence, flashing them both a warm smile that made Eva want to sink through the ground. "Lio, I see your date didn't stand you up," she teased, turning to Eva with a grin. "He was really worried that you would."
Eva let out a soft chuckle. "Oh, well, I'm here now," she said, internally cringing at how awkward she was being. Normally, she would have turned to Lio and happily joined in on teasing him, but it was taking all of her willpower not to bolt out of the door.
It was going to be a long night.
Lio was grinning when she took his hand, bringing hers up and brushing his lips along her knuckles.
