Training of any kind was destined to draw the attention of the Fraldarius son. Better yet, it was a tournament of sorts, igniting Felix’s competitive side (as if it ever burned out). While he’d prefer not to have to work with a team, he at least felt that he could have drawn shorter straws when it came to teammates.

Not interested in taking his time to get started, Felix charged ahead, hoping for the opportunity to get the first hit in and catch the mechanized enemy off guard.

Felix rolls a d20, and gets a 5. “It’s a hit! … For zero damage.”

Enemy Counter: enemy rolls a d20+2 for sharp beak, and deals 1.5 HP damage.

The retaliating attack from the enemy landed, and Felix grunted in pain from the piercing beak dragging across his skin. He hissed through his teeth, braving the injury, and hurried back far enough to put his shield up against the enemy’s next attack.

Twin Soul: Sun uses Divine Fire on all players. Felix is barely hit, but receives 0 dmg thanks to his shield.

Thankfully, Felix thought ahead and took his shield as his other equipment aside from his sword, and it paid off. He hid behind the shield, sweat forming on his forehead as the fire heated the metal. Amber eyes locked with his teammate and he nodded towards the enemy, signaling for them to attack.

Marianne stayed towards the back of the group, she wasn’t yet confident in her skills as a fighter. She watched as Felix recklessly charged forward, his sword bouncing off uselessly. As the mechanical solar monster’s gears began to click back ominously, there was the faint smell of gas. Marianne ducked behind Felix and his shield as the flames erupted around them.

She quickly backed away when the flames subsided, not wanting to draw the ire of her teammate. When she looked up at the beast next it had transformed, silver as moonlight. She glanced over to see how the others had fared from the attack. She saw Corrin, her sleeve badly burned with embers slowly eating away at the rest of the fabric, making a point not to look at her wound. Marianne reached her hand out, the warm faith magic leaving her finger tips.

Marianne casts Heal on Corrin (Roll 12) 4 HP restored

She nodded at Corrin’s thanks and took a few steps back. It was best if she stayed back. She was a good healer… That was how she could help her team.

She watched Corrin swing her frying pan in to the beast’s belly. Marianne winced at the sound of the metal scraping against the metal. There was another clicking and grinding sound, Corrin had managed to do a little damage it seemed, as the bird transformed back into the golden gleaming form it had started with.

Felix was more than sure he was going to try going bird hunting after this tournament was over. 

Another gale attack was sent towards the already-haggard-looking Kris, and Felix tried to spot a place in the fight to jump forward and try again. Before he could process it, the enemy transformed back into its prior form and immediately set its sights on Felix. His eyes widened as the beast lunged for him. 

Twin Soul (Sun) hits Felix twice with Sharp Beak [Rolls: 9+2 = 11, 18+2 = 20]. 3 DMG dealt; Felix 7.5/12HP 

Twice, the bird’s beak sliced at him, and Felix felt every inch of the skin breaking along his arm he had risen to try and block the attack. Foolish, since that meant his sword arm was injured. Great. 

Felix hits Twin Soul with Iron Sword [Roll: 6]. 0 DMG dealt; Twin Soul 9/10HP

He made his attempt at a retaliation while the bird was close, but even still his flimsy sword just bounced right off of it, not even scratching it. Felix cursed through his teeth and a growl ripped from his throat as he slashed towards the bird, still up close with it. 

PLAYER PHASE || START

Felix hits Twin Soul (Sun) with Wrath Strike (Iron Sword) [Roll: 16+2 = 18]. 0 DMG dealt; Twin Soul 9/10HP. Twin Soul hits Felix with Sharp Beak [Roll: 17+2 = 19]. 1.5 DMG dealt; Felix 6/12HP

And even still, while throwing the strength he could muster into the best-aimed and best-timed shot he could give at that moment, it still wasn’t enough. And worse still, the bastard bird retaliates and slices him one more time with its goddamned beak before Felix is able to flee back, now looking just as worse for wear as he had been mentally accusing Kris of being.
