#thread 002: tristan & mia.

his head nodded because tristan knew how tiring and unfun packing could be. "i'm just glad we'll finally be in our new home soon." that wasn't something he was so sure they would have for themselves, but he was so happy thinking about it now and knowing it would happen soon. when she took a seat, tristan moved to stand before her and he leaned closer to brush a soft kiss to her lips. "chicken parmesan soup with fresh bread. she even helped me with the bread," he said. tristan leaned down to check through the glass of the oven once again to look inside. "i'm starting to think i might have missed my calling," he spoke around a smile.

"you do get me all to yourself this weekend." she laughed when he continued and crisscrossed her legs as she sat on their kitchen bench and she hummed softly. "i hate packing, but i'm also so excited to get into the house." she stretched her arms above her head and grabbed her mug. she wrapped her hands around it and she sipped from the tea. it was settling her stomach and she rested one of her hands against it. she bit into her lower lip and tipped her head to the side. "she did? what are you making?" she asked and furrowed her brow when she saw the bread through the glass in the oven. mia ran her fingers through her hair and swallowed thickly.

"so, you're saying i get you all to myself this weekend? you know what that means," he spoke before leaning a little closer to brush a soft kiss to her lips. a smile settled on his lips as he began to pull back. "we can finally finish packing." a low laugh passed his lips before a hand lifted to cup her cheek with his thumb brushing over her lower lip. his head only nodded and he got out of bed to walk down towards the kitchen. "she should be off soon. –andrea helped me with dinner. she would find anything and everything to cook for harry. she actually said this was one she loved to eat during cold winters when she was pregnant with layla, so i figured.." words trailed off with a slight shrug. after he pressed a kiss to mia's forehead, tristan took a glance in the oven to see the bread still baking. "it shouldn't be too much longer."

"i promise. i won't push myself further..." she said softly. "they're giving me easier shifts because of the pregnancy. or at least, they're trying. scheduling me during less than busy hours." mia nodded and smiled as he kissed her palm. "slow and boring? seems like we were both having a long day. i'm thankful to be home. i don't go in all weekend, so..." she shrugged and crossed her legs. "can i come down and watch you cook?" she asked and her smile widened. "the tea's already helping and everything." mia didn't wait for an answer and climbed out of the bed to head down to the kitchen. "noel's still at work, i'm guessing? she left river with mom and dad."

tristan could admit he was worried about her. not only had he always been worried about her, but it was a little extra now that she was pregnant. pushing herself was one thing, but pushing herself at work while working at the hospital was another. "just...be careful, okay?" he wouldn't tell her to stop working because he couldn't ask her to do that. he just needed her to be safe. leaning into her touch, his head turned to press a kiss to her palm. "slow and boring. i actually came home early and finished most of it up here. it gave me the chance to get things ready for dinner. i think you'll like it," he said before leaning closer to press a kiss to her forehead. "you just rest right now, my love."

"i know i can't..." she whispered and leaned into his touch. she frowned when he said she wasn't doing dinner. "baby," she whispered and took a deep breath. "you already prepped?" her eyebrows rose and she leaned over and pressed a kiss to his lips. "i love you so much." mia nodded her head and smiled gently. "you're amazing." she sipped from her tea and ran her fingers through her hair. "the a&e wasn't too bad today. they had me doing emergencies, but there weren't a lot. there was a stabbing, there were some flu cases." she hummed softly and cupped his cheek, "how was work?" she asked.

"no more ignoring it, my love. you know you can't do that." certainly not when it meant making it so much worse for her later on. tristan sat down in the bed with her and reached a hand out to caress the side of her face with his thumb brushing lightly over her cheek. when she mentioned making supper, his head shook. "you will do no such thing. you will drink your tea and spend time with noel and i will make us all supper. – don't even try to argue with me. i know you've been pushing yourself lately, so i started prepping dinner earlier. it'll be done within the hour."

when he appeared not even seconds later, she realised he had already been making one for her. she pouted a little and took the mug, "thank you, baby. -- yes, i'm feeling it extra today. i ignored it all through my shift, so as soon as i got off, my body was not ignoring it anymore." mia made a face and sipped from the tea. "thank you so much for this," she whispered and leaned up against the headboard. "noel will be home soon and then i can get up and make us supper. the tea will help calm me down. i won't gag while i'm making it."

there was part of him that knew she needed it before she even got home, so tristan had already gotten everything ready by the time she walked through the front door. without saying a word, he finished making something to settle her stomach as best as possible, then he was back in the bedroom with a warm mug handed out for her. "you're feeling it extra today, aren't you?"

"...baby? could you grab me a cuppa, please? i'm trying to push off this nausea." she'd just gotten off of work and was sick the minute she left the hospital. when she got home, she changed immediately, and curled up in bed. noel was out with river and tristan had just gotten home the moment she had, so it was fate. "i'll love you forever."
