leo was a person who wasn't blind to the fact that he was an attractive person. so being put on a team and it being called 'team face' wasn't something that didn't make sense. it made even more sense when he saw his team mates. one of which he could humbly admit was better looking than he was. "hey sujin" he stated waving over to his 'coworker'.

"need protection?" leo teased placing his hands on his hips playfully. he knew that sujin had a certain level of confidence that leo knew that he wouldn't be able to shake. "or do you think you'll be able to take some of these people down?" even if they did get out, all they'd have to do is act out a scene but leo was lazy and would just rather throw things at people.

thankfully earlier in the week he had practiced kite flying relatively well with junkyu that he didn't feel any sort of nervousness about shooting this video. it was in most cases a pretty fun traditional game. it was something that wasn't overly complicated and was pretty inclusive.

so needing/wanting to be fully prepared he walked over to sujin to get ideas. "so kite flying. any ideas on how you want the filming to go? do you want to be the one primarily talking or demonstrating?" now thinking it over he should have called him beforehand to set up a script or something.

sujin’s  response  catches  eunji  off  guard,  causing  her  to  pause  for  a  moment.  her  eyes  widen  in  surprise  as  silence  stretches  between  them  before  she  finally  snaps  out  of  it.  “wait…  you’re  kidding,  right?”  she  asks  with  a  nervous  chuckle,  but  the  quiet  that  follows  is  enough  to  answer  her  question.  “...  you’re  not?”

truth be told, sujin's been busy the past week. he hadn't meant to be, but a surprise visit from one park joonwoo had left him uncharacertistically occupied. it's not often he can see his friend in person now that he's moved abroad, and it was dangerously easy to get caught up in the thrill of seeing an old friend. still, it'd left him with little time for anything else until he'd driven joonwoo to the airport ... anything or, really, anyone. namely, kit. who, really, sujin shouldn't even be worried about seeing — it's casual. they're casual and this whole thing could end at any time, so sujin shouldn't be feeling bad that he'd only exchanged a few messages with kit while joonwoo was visiting because realistically, kit probably doesn't care. and yet, here sujin is at his door directly from the airport. they'd come straight here without thinking, a strange sense of guilt and something else urging him to see kit as soon as possible. he doesn't want to think about whatever he's feeling right now.

"hey," he says as soon as the door opens, feigning casualness. "i just dropped joonie off at the airport, wanted to come see a pretty boy before i head home." did he almost say my pretty boy? maybe. / @weedzkiller.

"Questions about relationships? Sure."

have you ever felt truly loved by someone?

"Yes," he replied right away. "Of course." Sujin was slightly baffled by this question because he couldn't imagine someone answering no. "My mother. My father." He counted, starting with the people closest to him. His mother carried him for many months, suffered through a difficult labor and still smiled upon seeing him. Sujin's father was difficult at times, but despite not seeing eye-to-eye, he never doubted the man's love for him. "My siblings." His older brother and sister were from another mother, but they accepted him. His younger sister was his little tail growing up, so it would be hard to imagine her not liking him. "My friends." Granted, he didn't have many. However, those he had were all loyal and supportive.

"Why?" Sujin looked up sharply, suddenly feeling a little defensive. "Do I look...hard to love?"

who is the most important person in your life?

A difficult question.

"Everyone in my life are important and I need all of them." He frowned, not understanding why he should have to choose one person when he loved many. "If I must pick..." Sujin imagined everyone he loved in a burning building. It was an uncomfortable thing to picture, but it did help clear his thoughts. "I guess my baby sister." She would be the one he jump into the flames for first. Poor Soyeon was the frailest of his loved ones and thus deserved his attention the most. That said, he would happily risk his life for any of the people in his circle - they didn't even have to be part of the inner circle.

what is your idea of romance?

"My idea of romance is devotion and adoration. A fierce love between two people like a flame that would never burn out." He spoke in his usual monotone, which was a bit funny considering that he was having a passionate discussion about love. "Understanding each other. Spending quiet time together in a garden, going on walks and trips...seeing all the beauty this world has to offer. That type of thing." Great, he just sounded really sappy. Oh well, not like he was ashamed of how he felt. "For me, trust is also important. I will not accept betrayals or lies in a relationship. If someone I love hurt me in that regard, I will kill them."

Cold, unblinking stare.

"I am just joking," he added after five seconds, seeing how the coach was not laughing.

how do you show someone you care about them?

"I spend time with them." What was more valuable than time and energy, right? "And do things they like." He was capable of pushing himself for those he favored. For example, his mother liked huge birthday parties and despite hate being near crowds, Sujin would arrange for them and stay for the entire event. His younger sister liked to have tea time when she was a child and insisted that he join. So despite feeling extremely embarrassed as he was already a teenager, he'd sit down with her huge plush animals and drink his imaginary tea.

"Also, I share what I like with them." For example, his desserts. Getting Sujin to part with his cakes was like asking him to chop off his hand, but he could be persuaded if he liked the other person enough. Or felt like they needed it more. He would also show them his secret spots around the house or garden, let them sit on his favorite chair or read his special collection of books.

What else.

"I won't let anyone hurt them. Their enemies are my enemies. Their troubles are my troubles and I will make problems go away."

have you ever lost someone important to you?

"Yes." It was abrupt, too. She was perfect when she was there and their relationship was beautiful like the fireworks. Then one day she was gone without a single word and left him suffering from the lack of closure. Sujin thought he should be angry, but instead he was more hurt. To this day, despite all the years that had passed, he was still waiting for an answer...an explanation.

"But it's alright," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "What's lost can be found. What was mine will be mine again." There it was, the arrogance he had inherited from his father. He will have love again.

one thing junkyu was hapy about, was that he was able to do the recordings for the educational videos with sujin. someone he knew and was also his roommate, so he already didn't feel awkward or anything. he still wasn't the top best at these games, but he had definitely made an improvement from before, so he was happy about that. at least that was one thing he could say he could do, to an extent. it's not like his parents would teach him now anyway, they stopped giving him attention years ago to the point where he just feels like they're the people who birthed him, rather than them actually being his mother and father.

for someone who had been in front of cameras more than most, junkyu still found this a little bit awkward. but he's sure that's simply because this wasn't something he was the most confident in, so he can only try his best and make it seem like he knew what he was doing. "are you ready for this? i never knew how any of these games worked before this, so i'm probably still going to be a little bit rusty. if i mess up, let's just laugh it off and make it seem playful." junkyu says with a soft chuckle, the corners of his lips curled upwards as he holds the pieces in his hands, like he was practicing.

sujin didn't often feel comfortable in his own skin.

he had always felt a world away from others, far away from humans and even farther away from the merfolk. but during the pride festival, he felt like he could belong, if only for this brief space in time. it was freeing, and he clung to every moment of it he could.

walking past the stalls of the rainbow market, a simple smile was on his lips as he hummed a song with no name to himself. he was perfectly in his own world, but the glimmer of something in the corner of his eyes pulled his attention towards it.

it was a display of bracelets and necklaces, all made from seashells. a particular bracelet, one made of many different colored shells, called to him. he hadn't ever seen seashells this color, with one being a blue so deep it reminded him of the ocean itself. in fact, all the colors of the rainbow were present, and he asked the woman selling the bracelets to name her price.

she smiled and offered him another — two for the price of one. he tried to politely return the other, but she insisted. "for someone special," she said with a knowing wink. he didn't exactly have anyone special to gift it to, but he still thanked her and paid for the bracelets.

slipping his easily onto his wrist, he raised it to the sky and marveled at the way the sun glistened off the shells. he hadn't realized he was only a step away from another person until their bodies collided and he quickly moved to grip onto their shoulders to hold them steady and keep from falling.

settling his gaze, he rested it upon the other and said, "oh! y-yujun." he let him go and internally chastised himself for forgoing his manners. "princen yujun," he corrected himself. a formal title from their world, from the sea, but he thought it only appropriate.

"i should've watched where i was going," he said, opening his mouth to apologize, but remembered the last time they had spoken. yujun didn't seem to like him apologizing so much. sujin wasn't fond of it much either. "hi," he offered a small greeting instead, allowing for a more easygoing grin to settle on his features.

"you, uh... come here often?" sujin tried to find words to fill the space, but the ones he chose caused him to blush instead. "ah, sorry, that sounds like a come on." he shook his head. "not that i wouldn't- and that you're not- 'cause, you know, you are-" he took a moment to breathe, muttering to himself, "stop talking, sujin."

Kentaro enjoys the quiet. And Sujin is a cold, distant, kind of guy he thinks. It's exactly what draws Kentaro to him. He’s always preferred the company of people who say little, a habit formed during his school days when his closest friend was someone he barely spoke to.

So, every once in a while, Kentaro will send Sujin a casual text, suggesting they grab coffee. Their meetings follow a familiar routine—little pleasantries, no probing questions, just a brief exchange. It’s a simple ritual, one that Kentaro finds oddly comforting.

Today is no different. They sit across from each other in the dimly lit café, Kentaro reaches into his messenger bag and pulls out a worn paperback. Without preamble, he slides it across the table toward Sujin.

"'Cursed Bunny' by Bora Chung," he says, his voice casual. "It’s a collection of horror stories, you know."

  what’s this? dear stoic susu thinks he’s beautiful? intentional or not, of course, rowon doesn’t miss the omission of a certain descriptor. it’s not quite a compliment, but he takes it as one; he’s always been so good at hearing what he wants to hear.

  never mind that, though.

  he throws his arm around sujin’s shoulders and walks him out of … wherever they are at. “if you’re not going to take me on a date, then i will take you on a date.” before sujin can even think to reject him a second time, rowon continues, “there’s a new cake boutique that recently opened up. i’ve been meaning to check it out and thought – what better company to join me than that of a cake connoisseur?”

  there’s just one thing that he conveniently forgets to disclose.

  … ah, yes. he loves testing sujin’s morals. and the moral question of today is – would sujin lie for cake?

Wrong, dear Rowon! Even Sujin's baby sister was not safe from his blunt comments. Fairy princess had been subject to some bold, cutting honesty and learnt to never ask for her brother's opinion when it came to her outfit choices.

Speaking of boldness.

"What?" Sujin pulled a face, nose wrinkling with distaste as if a leaf had fallen atop a delicious slice of cake and contaminated its loveliness with dust particles. "Park Sujin does not wish to take you out on a date." Plain, straightforward rejection. Bet Han Rowon's not used to that, huh?

"I like beautiful girls," he explained after a moment of deliberation. "You are not a girl." Sujin gestured at Rowon's obviously masculine form and spoke slowly to ensure understanding.

it was that time of year where he was hearing about more people getting into acting. it had actually been almost a year since he had got into the field. time had flown by. he knew that would be the same for this coming year as well. hopefully he would have the good fortune that he had the year prior.

now they were beginning a new journey. the black banquet. it was reminding him of a movie called 'clue'. and with the added touches of the masked waiters. today he decided he was going to meet up with one of the new actors. this should be fun?

he walked into the practice room and began looking over his lines. why not while he waited?

it  feels  like  it  takes  her  forever  to  open  her  eyelids,  which  feel  impossibly  heavy.  once  hana  finally  gets  accustomed  to  the  light  after  such  prolonged  darkness,  her  gaze  wanders  as  she  grapples  to  make  sense  of  everything  she  can  see.  it  feels  like  a  cruel  joke  when  it  is  sujin  that  she  recognises  amidst  the  haze  of  confusion.  the  hint  of  copper  lingering  in  the  air  is  hard  to  miss  and  while  she  struggles  to  recall  what  happened  precisely,  she  can  more  or  less  guess  what  it  was.  “why  did  you...”  she  once  considered  the  possibility  that  the  other  might  be  the  last  person  she  sees  before  leaving  this  rotten  earth,  but  she  never  imagined  that  sujin  would  be  the  first  person  she  sees  when  she  realises  she’s  alive. / @cigvrettedvet

as the teams above hint, this drama will be centered around a group of criminals and the law enforcement team dedicated to catching them. since it will also be heavy on ACTION, the production team requires further preparations from the casting, including PHYSICAL TRAINING, VARIOUS SKILLS TRAINING and FILMING TECHNIQUES TRAINING. with many of the cast busy with various promotions and schedules related to year-end awards and celebrations, no fixed lessons are set, and cast members are expected to attend per their availabilities, from OCTOBER to DECEMBER. although BAE SOJIN and NAM GYURI only received guest roles, they are invited to attend as many lessons as possible as they could learn valuable skills. due to CHO MINKYU's packed schedule in Q4, he's only expected to attend lessons given to both groups.
