Day Seven: Purple

Simon thinks about dyeing his hair. Other people have feelings about it. (No warnings, NR, 1.9k)

“If you did something to alter your physical appearance, what would it be?” Maddie read from the card and wrinkled her nose. “What kind of question is that?” Felice scoffed and slid her facemask around.

“I could see myself getting my breasts done,” Stella said. The girls all turned towards her. “What? You’re saying you wouldn’t, even after having kids? You’re all liars.” Simon shifted around. He was happy the girls started including him in their Manor House nights, but that didn’t mean he always felt like one of them.

“What about you two?” Felice asked, looking at Simon and Sara. They looked at each other. Sara shrugged.

“I don’t know, maybe… get my bellybutton pierced?” She started giggling, and the rest of the girls balked and laughed.

“Always full of surprises, this one,” Maddie said. She nearly turned to the next card before Fredrika cut in.

“What about you, Simon?” He thought for a moment. Simon never had any issue with his physical appearance, and Wille didn’t seem to have any issues with it either. (If Simon was being honest, the whole dating the Crown Prince of Sweden thing did boost his self esteem, at least physically, after all the hate and controversy died down.) He thought back to when he was younger, and remembered how he’d always wanted hair like his favorite anime characters. Specifically Valt Aoi from Beyblade. He grinned.

“Maybe I’d dye my hair.”

At the admission, the girls started chattering excitedly, and Maddie’s eyes widened.

“Oh, Simon, you just made a huge mistake,” Felice chuckled. “You do know Maddie has an entire hair salon in our bathroom.”

“We could do it right now,” Maddie said. “Dead serious. I have bleach and everything.” He looked around, all the girls staring raptly at him.

“I don’t know, I’d have to think about it.” It would most likely not look like Valt Aoi’s hair, and even if it did, Simon seriously questioned if a not ten-year-old version of himself would like it at all. The girls let out disappointed noises. Simon realized that this was a very exciting, significant event to this group and smiled.

Still, he had a surge of excitement verging on butterflies when he thought about the change. It might be nice to do something different, something that represented change in a positive way. A change he chose for himself.

“How was girls night?” Wille asked. He would have attended, but rowing practice kept him late as usual. Simon was curled into his side, being forced together as usual by the Hillerska twin bed.

“Good. Maddie offered to dye my hair.” Wille stilled next to him, and Simon could hear his breath hitch. “What?” He asked, laughing.

“Nothing,” Wille said, stretching his fingers further into Simon’s curls.

“I’m probably not going to do it. It might look weird with my curls.” Wille stopped his movements again. Simon could practically hear him thinking.

“You, or your hair, could never look weird,” he asserted. Then, more quietly, he asked, “but what color?”

Simon giggled. “You’re hung up on this, huh? I dunno. Purple, maybe?” Valt Aoi’s hair was blue, but purple was close enough, and it was his favorite color after all.

“Although I’m pretty sure they’d have to bleach my whole head, which could look bad when it fades, and it might ruin my curls.” Wille hummed disapprovingly.

“But Felice put those streaks in her hair last summer, remember, right? And her hair is curly like yours.” Wille had a funny selective memory, sometimes.

“Yeah, she got highlights. That’s different.” An idea started slowly forming in Simon’s head nonetheless.

Wille sat up, staring down at Simon in the moonlight, and coiling his finger between a stray curl on his forehead. “I think you’d look amazing, curls, bald, or otherwise,” Wille said earnestly, kissing the top of Simon’s head. Simon smiled, butterflies flooding his stomach.

“Just kiss me already, you weirdo,” he breathed, pulling Wille down into him.

Wille had a bit of a problem. Simon was joking, is what he reminded himself. This wasn’t a serious consideration. Besides, the Hillerska dress code did prohibit colored hair, although the enforcement was questionable. The couple times he’d asked Simon about it, he’d made fun of Wille, calling him obsessed and brushing it off. It only made it worse.

The thing, though, was that Wille started to think about it a little too much. One afternoon he looked up pictures of dyed curly hair. Some were a bit extreme for Simon - he knew that even he could dress more flashy than his boyfriend sometimes - but some of them were more subtle. Once or twice, Wille had to shut off his laptop or phone because he was a bit too excited. He didn't bring it up again, so Wille started to feel a bit creepier for thinking about it so much. Simon's hair was lovely the way it was, brown and shiny and beautiful, the curls wrapping themselves around Wille's fingers every time he scratched his scalp, or grabbed on for purchase while -

Yes, Wille was just fine with things the way they were.

Another girl’s night rolled around, and Wille was again absent. The girls sat around in a circle, Stella french braiding Fredrika’s hair and Sara sitting with her head on Felice’s lap. They were listening to Ariana Grande, or maybe it was Dua Lipa, Simon couldn’t be sure. Someone had brought out the nail polish hours ago, and Simon had been going back and forth about painting his nails.

“Simon,” Maddie suddenly said, sitting up from where she lay on the floor. “Weren’t we going to dye your hair?” All the girls looked at him, Sara’s eyes teasing.

“I said I’d think about it,” he replied shortly.

“And you had time to think about it,” Maddie deadpanned. “You know, the timing is really good. Halloween is coming up, and if we did it now people would think it was like, temporary or something.”

She had a point, Simon had to admit. He could probably pass it off at Hillerska, at least, and his Mamá would maybe forgive him if he said it was for a costume. The girls were looking at him expectantly.

“Do you have… purple?” He asked haltingly.

“YES! I told you so,” Felice said to Sara, shaking her shoulders and laughing. Stella begrudgingly reached into her pockets and threw a few bills at Fredrika.

“What is this, you guys had some kind of bet?” Simon asked.

“Hey, don’t look at us. Wille kept bugging Maddie about it, so we figured it was only a matter of time.” Felice shrugged. At the insinuation, Simon’s cheeks turned apple red. Wille had hardly mentioned it since that one night in their room. To be honest, Simon himself had forgotten about it after a few weeks.

“Okay, but here’s the thing.” He spoke over a chorus of whooping, the girls gathering their things to crowd into the bathroom already. “I don’t want it to look all purple, or even half of the way purple.” Maddie was the only one listening at this point.

“You mean highlights?” She asked. Simon nodded, going to unlock his phone to look up some pictures. “Easy. I did them for Felice last summer. And they’ll grow out fast, in case you don’t like it,” she reassured.

They settled on a medium toned color, not too warm or too cool, not too light or too dark. His hair had gotten longer lately, a result of being in boarding school and not getting carted off to the hairdresser by Linda every month, and Maddie reassured him she wouldn’t touch his roots with the bleach or the dye. It seemed like a long and quite boring process, but the girls surrounded him with rapt attention, asking Maddie questions the whole time.

Simon got a bit nervous when they washed the bleach out. His hair looked odd, the dark-light contrast like a tortoiseshell cat or skunk stripes. It lit him up with nervous excitement. Maddie mixed the dye together with what she called developer, and it let out the foulest smell. The whole process was a lot more involved than Simon initially realized. Simon wasn’t sure he would’ve agreed if he’d known what he was in for.

The girls started going to bed one by one, and eventually it was just Maddie and Sara left. Sara kept taking pictures of him, even when he held up his hands and moved to take her phone. Maddie stopped him every time, telling him to stay still or he’d end up with a purple nose.

After he’d rinsed his hair, crunched in some of Felice’s product, and had his hair blowdried, Simon stared at himself in the mirror. The color was more subtle than the picture in his head, but in quite a good way. In lower light, you could hardly tell it wasn’t brown. His curls were also in tact, which Simon was grateful for.

Butterflies lit up his stomach in anticipation. The change was exciting for many reasons, but Simon would be lying if Wille's reaction wasn’t one of the main ones. Now Simon knew that Wille had gone out of his way and asked Maddie about it - surely that meant he wasn’t opposed to it?

Simon turned his head from side to side. It gave him an edgier look, somehow changing the simple tee and flannel he was wearing into something that looked like a fashion statement. He looked like he could be in an indie band. Maybe he should’ve painted his nails black, after all.

He said goodbye to Maddie and made his way towards Forest Ridge. Wille was asleep by the time he got back to their room, and Simon was only slightly disappointed. He slipped out to brush his teeth, and Alexander walked in behind him.

“Hey,” he greeted, then immediately whipped his head back up. “Woah! Your hair!” Simon smiled to himself, turning around.

“What do you think?” He asked. Alexander was nice, and probably honest, Simon thought.

“It’s sick, man. It suits you.” Alexander nodded, heading towards the shower.

Simon smiled to himself. He was starting to think so, too.

Simon woke up to a tickling on his forehead. He blinked his blurry eyes open. Moonlight was pouring into the window, meaning it was much too early for him to be up. When the room came into focus, Simon was looking right at Wille, or rather Wille was looking right at him. The look in his eyes said everything. “You did it,” he breathed, looking raptly at Simon.

“Mm. Too early,” Simon groaned, squinting his eyes shut. Wille was still staring, though, moving his fingers up and through Simon’s hair.

“It looks… different.”

Simon opened one eye. “Seriously? You wake me up, and that’s all you have to say?”

“Good different. Like, really good,” Wille said, looking up at Simon’s hair and down at his face again. “It suits you.”

“That’s what Alexander said,” Simon replied.

“So Alexander saw it already?” Wille asked, trying not to sound hurt.

“Yeah, when I went to brush my teeth. What is with you?” Simon laughed.

Wille didn’t respond at first, just letting his hands fold through Simon’s hair. “Do you like it?” He finally asked.

“I think so, but I dunno. I’ll have to see it in the sun,” Simon admitted, some of his nervousness peeking through.

“I can’t imagine it looking better than this,” Wille exhaled, his skin bluish-purple with the colors of the moonlight. He leaned down and kissed away all of Simon’s comebacks. They fell back asleep tangled together, Wille’s fingers still tangled in Simon’s hair.

In the morning sun, Simon decided that he liked it. It really suited him.

LMAO Meet my ridiculously cool redesigns of Tyson, Kai, Ryuga, Gingka, and Valt! I turned them into a Panty & Stocking-inspired team, and honestly? They look ready to start some SHIT in HollyHoo.

I Genuinely Had so MUCH Fun Creating This Concept because I Imagined their Personalities just Working and Clashing together in a Cool satirical World of HollyHoo (Hollywood Los Angles) and I Just Thought the Idea was Neat Since I Enjoy the Various Generations of Beyblade and Kai, Gingka, Ryuga, Valt, and Tyson Happen to be My Favorite Characters! And Just to Clarify, I imagined them in a More Adult Context with Ryuga being a Fashionable Street Hipster who has a Nack for Gucci Fashion, Kai as a Rich Millionaire who Happens to be the Top Valedictorian at their High School, Tyson as A Carefree High School Slacker, Gingka as a Hippie Nerdy Student, and Valt as a Emo Boy LOL! Beyblade Burst and the Nature of Strength

To start this off, I am going to provide a diagram to explain one of the main points of this essay.

to go further, I will be using an example from the referenced media. In beyblade burst, two best friends (read: homosexual lovers) start playing beyblade at the same time. In the beginning, Valt is better than Shu, cause he has more natural skill. But soon, Shu surpasses Valt via hard work. However, when Valt starts working equally hard, they eventually once again clash, and while they are near equal, that natural spark Valt possesses grants him the slight edge needed to claim victory.

This is how most all skill based competitive hobbies work. Sure, you can become the best swimmer in your school by working harder than everyone else, but that's never gonna let you compete with olympic level athletes, who have both been practicing longer and tend to have been born with advantages (long limbs, big lungs, etc.).

This essay is shorter than I thought it would be. Basically: while hard work does play a large roll in skill, at the end of the day, if two people work just as hard, the one born luckier will be the victor

(if you couldn't tell this is partially about my experience as a disabled artist. No matter how hard I work, I'll never be quite as good as the people who work equally hard and have a brain that works better. Seriously, my hand eye coordination sucks and it's really annoying cause it makes art so much harder.)

ok i wanna start by saying jaxon is such a fucking dick for being one of the top bladers in the country and then going back and fighting a bunch of amateurs 😭😭 so fucking funny. but to that effect i gotta say i think jaxon is like the best they've ever done of this type of character. burst really suffered from running so long imo, because the powerscaling was completely busted by the end. never forget bel beating lui with ease in the very first episode of s6. but what i mean is, they WANT a character, a MAIN character that's able to completely sweep the competition without sweat, but they also want to pull a valt and have the character be new to the game, so the audience can learn alongside them. but you cannot have your cake and eat it too! aiger failed especially in my mind because he came off the tail OF valt, and i'd say the same of hikaru, hyuga, and bel as well. splitting these two ideas into two characters works much better! and i especially love that they DID start robin with that same hikaru and hyuga flavored "but i've never lost before :(" after having only trained for one month battling against people who don't care that much 😭 i love it.

and for jaxon, instead of Actually making him a novice, he's just cosplaying as one. which again. is such a dick move 😭😭 and so funny 😭 like they haven't really touched on how morally questionable that is but jaxon's just such a sillygoofy guy you get swept up in how much fun he's having!!! i love that too. it looks like next episode is gonna drop some more jaxon lore which is SOOOOO exciting. i'll hold my thoughts on that. but he's really looking up to be a much more complex character than just "the dumb one" :3!!!! but ANYWAY like this just proves to me you can absolutely make the "undefeated" character work in this setting without making it boring. predictable, maybe, but not boring. watching jaxon fight is fun even if i know he's gonna win!!! and everybody else knows he's gonna win too! i feel like bel failed at this because he was 1 kind of the only Actual Character in s6. right? like ranzo was there and he was funny but he was never a challenge, bashara too. and then bashara ditched them so the main group was just bel ranzo and hana. beyblade does not work with no supporting cast! i feel like they would've learned that from s5 😭 and even with pri added for s7 he was still just. flat. i love a pompous self centered character but when they're the only character with a personality it's hard to make them like. charming 😭 but jaxon is one of THREE main characters! all of whom have their own personalities, views of blading, and overall goals outside of reaching the top! i'm sooooo glad they went back to this style, i swear the beyclub is a huge reason why s1 is so beloved. the dynamics between all of the members was what hooked me into the show to begin with!! but now i'm just complaining about the later seasons of burst.

i feel like jaxon is very quickly reaching up to my favorite characters of all time list. and soooo much of that is due to aj beckles' performance. i can't remember if i already said this but genuinely like. i think i would have liked jaxon anyway, regardless of who played him, he just has a lot of traits i love written into him already, but GOD the PERFORMANCE. UUYYGHHHG REMINDS ME HOW MUCH I LOVE VOICES!!!!!!! his inflections, the melodic way he speaks, raising his pitch at vowels where you can just hear the smile on his face like GOD. absolutely incredible, especially for a character with a mask (and kind of shitty animation) where SO MUCH of the characterization is forced upon the voice alone, he's doing so so fucking good. he just infuses so much WHIMSY into him it's perfect. it's fucking perfect. jaxon is so pointedly focused on just having fun, and that comes across flawlessly. but the calmer moments hit just as heavy, if not more so! since he seems to be so carefree, when he slows down and acts more serious, that melody to his words becomes much more sinister. i am. so excited to see more of his backstory, cos it's looking to be a lot heavier than he lets on.

i also love in this episode the reveal that jaxon is actually, even stronger than he is in legal matches?!?!?!? doing the backalley battle and cackling while he breaks the set and taunts his opponents to get back up 😭 i'm so obsessed with him. kinda reminds me of free's story from s2 actually now that i think about it. and that's really cool to have on the main team!! i am sooooo curious to see if they do anything similar to how free's story ended too. noooo clue how anything's gonna go with khrome, or with that other guy they revealed last episode?? very fun. i'm so excited. i love jaxon so much. spinning him around

Salvager Chapter 1: Floor 190

There looked to be… about a hundred and twenty androids plugged into the recharge ports. Trouble, Salvager grimaced to himself, peering through his magnification glasses at them all from his hiding spot. His back was against the hard glass surface of what had once been a display screen--fortunately, someone had thought to paint it black at some point in the last seven years, renewing its usefulness--and his boots were planted firmly against the floor, his eyes raised just a slit above the screen’s top. Two second intervals, he decided, flicking his gaze to the ceiling. Yeah… That should do the trick…

Though the robots were tethered to the battery farm now, it would take less than a penny dropping to activate their dormant sensory receptors. Every last one could wake up in less than an instant and Salvager--by himself, anyways--didn’t stand a chance against that many. He and Venom had calculated their individual odds earlier that week--just in case either of them ever found themselves in such a situation. After reviewing Shinoda’s system, it had been decided that Venom could reasonably handle six androids at once. Salvager, on the other hand, could only dispatch two without wasting inventory. So, for now, he’d have to maneuver past the dozing horde silently.

He sank below the edge of his hiding spot, folding in a way that he landed gently on his knees. The floor was thrumming with the constant pulse of batteries, the electrical activity bleeding warmth into the tiling, heating his legs. Just how much electricity the androids guzzled up as they slept, Salvager wasn’t sure--he couldn’t even have guessed how much it took to power a prototype android compared to the self-replicated, reconstructed, Starving Silver, or Devoured Men models--and how each one continued to consume so much after seven years of the Tower’s lockdown, he had even less of an idea.

Swallowing with anticipation, Salvager ignited his player board with a sweep of his hand, summoning his transparent blue data screen just beside his right palm.. Shinoda--the Tower’s A.I. system--quickly rolled through his stats--

Ignoring the extensive lists, he selected his laser grapnel and--for futility’s sake (in case something went wrong)--one of his fifteen disruptor pistols. At once, Shinoda extracted both tools from its digital database and loaded them into his hands, automatically conjuring the grapnel into his right, as the item’s user preferences had indicated. Sniffing, Salvager removed his magnification glasses, tossed them back into his inventory (by way of his player board), dismissed Shinoda, and lifted the small screen on the back of the grapnel closer to his eyes. Thumbing carefully over the options, he adjusted the laser whip settings to match his earlier decision--Two second intervals, immediate relaunch--and, with a small squeeze of the trigger, a buzzing glow filled the short barrel. Perfect.

Moving quickly but softly, Salvager skirted around the edge of his blacked-out hiding spot and, disruptor gripped tightly in his left fist, swung the tip of the grapnel skyward. He locked the sights to the exposed metal beams of the ceiling and, taking light, swift bounds forward, snapped down the trigger.

A beam of ice-blue light shot from the end, connecting with a steel bar roughly a sixth of the way across the battery farm and instantly beginning to retract. Teeth bared in concentration, Salvager plunged into a full sprint, resisting the tug until, only two yards from the first line of androids, he tucked in his knees and launched into the air.

The laser whip immediately drew in his weight, carrying him a near fifteen feet off the floor, the distance not changing at all even as he dropped into a forward swing, the lolling heads of one hundred and twenty androids blurring beneath him. One! Two--!

The laser cut, detaching from the ceiling beam.

Salvager jerked his right arm forwards, locked the grapnel’s sights--

A second beam shot out, connecting with a new target.

And again, he fell into his swing.

One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release.

Over and past the ending edge of the farm, Salvager removed his finger from the trigger and allowed his body to fall, the stagnant Tower wind flaring through his dark hair, tugging at the open edges of his heavy jacket, and furrowing his brow. Midair, he flicked his grapnel to the side, dismissing it back to his inventory, and bent his knees, preparing to land on--

Oh, shoot. It’s a--

His boots hit the loose metal grate with an audible clank--louder than a blood-curdling scream in the silence--followed by an equally alarming echo, and, immediately, he threw himself off it, spun up to his knees, and leveled his pistol at the nearest line of androids. Seven self-replicated, one reconstructed, two Starving Silver variants. His heart thundered like a sledgehammer against his skull and he bit into his own teeth, fighting to restrain his breath. No more noise, no more noise.

He waited for several seconds.

Maybe even a full minute.

Nothing happened.

On the edge of satisfaction, Salvager swallowed down a hard wad of spit in the back of his mouth and slowly--slowly--began treading backwards. He readjusted his aim as he went, hands shaking slightly with the force of his grip, switching the pistol’s tip from the androids to their batteries. An explosion would work better than a laser bullet anyways…

Step after step, he maneuvered backwards, allowing his mind to drift to his next directive… Venom was ahead of him, scouting the safe zone Salvager had located the last time he’d been on Floor 190. They would meet up, proceed forward, and continue towards the top. They’d decided they could pull it off, could reach Floor 193--the Tower’s apex--in two days.

Drawn back into the shadows now, Salvager lowered his pistol, unlocking the strain on his lungs and releasing a short, ragged exhale. Safe, then, he decided. Only a little ways left to--

Sharp, cold fingers--a disjointed metal hand, knobbed and jagged--closed around his shoulder.

Beyblade -> Date A Live

Here is another of my random rambles from the cold darkness that is my spirit. The last word of that sentence is apt, this Beyblade Burst and Beyblade: Metal Saga recast is based on Date A Live. Once again, the main OC of mine will be included, this time on both sides, as I have a Beyblade variant and a Date A Live variant of said OC. There's also a small list of what their abilities would be, if the intersex thing were to become a Spirit. Because all the positions of the Sefirot and Qliphoth are filled in by canon people, I had to look through the many Abrahamic angels to locate those that fit with Sahaidachny's character that were not in said respective structures of the Kabbalah. Though supposedly Uriel was the guardian of the Sefirot of Kabbalah as well as the Gatekeeper of Eden. I also looked to the Book of Revelations and the Book of Genesis and stumbled upon something called Demonolatry which seems interesting.

I thought I'd combine two of my favourite series into a post. It seems ridiculous, but I couldn't care less.

Once again, not all people from each series is included. Closest match based on MBTI and Enneagram used. A list of Spirits in each AU is supplied, in which the Angel is instead based on the person's Beyblade.

C.J.S. is intersex, and the closest thing humans can get to being a biological hermaphrodite. In their hypothetical arc, Furutani Youkai -> Furutani Imperfect, their Angel would only be revealed near the end, and they would mostly be seen with their Demon King.

The concepts of subconscious loneliness, self-worth, getting them to open their heart again, wanting someone to understand them, finding the truth of one's self and being able to be one's self are the core tenets of their story. After realising that last part, they spontaneously broke into silent sobbing for the first time in their life. Being mentally and emotionally bullied for 10-11 years of your life purely for personality and conditions/disabilities does that (They have Autism, Epilepsy, Todd's Paralysis, Psoriasis, Narcolepsy, Hypersensitivity, a genetic fault that results in a lack of body temperature regulation).

They often wear a lavender purple yuki-onna-esque kimono as their casual outfit, and otherwise will wear an ice-blue shirt with a snowstorm-esque pattern alongside loose ice-white trousers and a thin but large lavender/soft dark purple jacket resembling a lab coat or dressing gown. There are other clothing options, including a lavender/royal purple shrine maiden outfit with same-coloured mob cap or lavender/ice-white bow, an ice-white cross between a dressing gown and artist's apron with a lavender blanket tied around their waist, and whatever other loose clothing options they have in their shrine of a house. When attending Raizen, they wear the school uniform. Both variants, due to being intersex.

They are naturally lacking in emotional expression. To them, a small smile means they are extremely happy and a minuscule frown means they are incredibly unhappy. They are seemingly cold/emotionless on the surface and acted cold-hearted/emotionless to the point where they were convinced its who they were, but a slowly re-emerging emotion both confused and plagued them until they freaked out and finally revealed - shoddily at first until they suddenly shouted in confusion and despair "I don't know anymore... I have no idea what's wrong with me!" - what they thought of themselves to a group that always thought they didn't care about the group before the final battle. Furu has gone suicidal and was at a mental point where the slightest thing could tip them one way or the other. They had turned out to be someone who saw themselves as some worthless cripple who had lost all use to themselves or Shido and couldn't break or change themselves for their art or for his sake. Needless to say he wasn't impressed with this revelation (I don't regret the reference). Most noticeably, they had an unexplainable intellectual and emotional obsession (read: romantic love - only fully realised in the middle of the final battle of their arc when they were told by Itsuka that they're allowed to be themselves. Cue subsequent being vacantly overwhelmed and in denial with the sealed Spirits helping them realise the truth of their subconscious, which finally made them admit their inner feelings and how they came to be. Come the transition from Inverse to Normal including Uriel appearing for the first time and their subsequent defeat finally able to move on from their past, they thank Itsuka for everything and say they're ready to find out what a date is. Weirdly, they use El Elyon as a makeshift outfit for the date, because the only Spirit with less shame than Furutani is Tobiichi. It's the autism. After said date involving utilising Michael to go to an art museum and an Italian restaurant, they willingly allow themselves to be sealed.) with the one that seals Spirits who had successfully befriended them despite previous life experiences within their subconscious. In reality, their true personality is apathetic to everyone except those they bond with, with whom they like merely being in the presence of, which their lack of expression fails to show to others. They can't even start a conversation on their own without confusing everyone around them. Also slightly creepy due to a natural talent for appearing out of nowhere and for casual stalking of person/people they become really romantically close to. Their emotional intelligence is absurdly low and they do not understand exactly what bonds are, only that they enjoy them. An individual with almost absurd levels of typical intelligence through prodigal talent/hard effort who had gone emotionally despondent and isolated themselves completely due to events in their life. Couple that with having been betrayed by so-called friends who turned into bullies and you have someone who simply is desperate to be understood. Prior to sealing, they saw themselves as beyond worthless and had a history of being used purely for their talents particularly in art - being an artist is their hobby and one of their passions, partly because it's the only way they can do emotional expression - and intellectually. Since being sealed and joining the main group, they have become much happier upon accepting that it's alright to be themselves. They are also asexual, and biromantic.

The theme of C. Sahaidachny is searching for the truth (after 10-11 years of mental & emotional torment & bullying for who they were desensitized them to almost everything/wrecked their emotional capacity/made them inwardly terrified of opening up to anyone) about who they are, and ultimately realizing they're allowed to be themselves and learning that they are not less than worthless. Learning not to be over-defensive around everyone and being able to trust others again are also key facets in the development towards that.

The Angel takes the form of a Shimenawa inspired by the same structure on Regnar** with a much smoother shape somewhat similar to the shimenawa held by Kanako Yasaka (see: Moriya Shrine) though not made of really thick rope. There's also colour alterations - Red -> Lavender Purple, Light Gold -> Dark Purple, White -> Black. It is engraved with what appears to be a painting of cold air and dandelions. The Shimenawa can also be wielded as a weapon in its own right, due to the outer part resembling Twisted Tempo, specifically the Twisted fusion wheel. Besides the Angel, Furu also has their own weapon that is essentially a combination of an absurdly long gohei and a comically large paintbrush, at either end respectively. It's slightly smaller than Reimu's gohei (see: Hakurei Shrine).

The Demon King takes the form of an ethereal compass sigil**** coloured in ice-blue and ice-white. The Roman Numerals inscribed on the compass are a purposeful falsehood linking back to the motif of truth and the destruction of the barriers that stand in the way of discovering the truth, the answer so to speak.

The Astral Dress is based on Regnar** of Beyblade Burst, besides the head and the Shimenawa-esque structure which is what the Angel is based on, with the following colour alterations - White -> Ice-White, Red -> Lavender Purple, Light Gold -> Royal Purple, Blue -> Ice-Blue, Dark Grey -> Black. A halo that somewhat resembles the accretion disk of a black hole (or the hypothetical gravastar) forms above the head. The concepts of the celestial canvas - and art - itself are the motif of that which essentially combines the scientific and the occult into one collection of abilities. El Elyon possesses a high durability bested only by Adonai Melek. However it is also one of the slowest, which is its one weakness, and Furutani can easily be caught in sensory overload rendering them vulnerable, particularly against multiple opponents.

In the Inverse form, the Astral Dress is more based on Genesis rather ironically, minus the head part and the lower half which is based on the image that isn't Genesis. The colour scheme is altered from the basis as the following - White -> Ice-White, Light Pink -> Ice-Blue, Gold -> Black, Red -> Dark Gold, Dark Grey -> White, Purple -> Lavender Purple. A spiked halo of black ice forms above the head.

The Astral Dress is vastly different to the general norm of these clothing items in style. The Inverse Form is no more powerful than the main form, the difference is fighting style. Except for one technique in which the Angel version is weirdly more powerful than the Demon King version if only by slightly.

Clarkov's/Furu's Angel is known as Uriel - based on the being known as the Archangel of Salvation among other titles - representing the angel of art, wisdom and truth who guides people to answers they seek. Uriel is said to be the gatekeeper of Eden, the one who acts as bodyguard to the Kabbalah and by extension the Sefirot, the one who warned Noah of the biblical flood, and one of the four angels - alongside Raphael, Michael and Gabriel - who protected the four corners of Earth.

Furu's Demon King is known as Abaddon - otherwise known as The Destroyer - representing the fallen angel of destruction and the abyss. Abaddon is said to be the embodiment of God's wrath who keeps existence in balance, unleashing their power on anything that may greatly disturb it. Essentially the enforcer of the angels. They are also regarded as playing a vital role in the Apocalypse itself, casting divine judgement on those who do not believe as well as those who fake their belief with their locust-derived plagues born from the depths of Hell.

As mentioned earlier, in the Book of Enoch, Uriel is described as the guardian of the Tree of Life (the Kabbalah, which bares the Sefirot that the main 10 Spirits are based on). As such, Furutani's Uriel would be the complete all-rounder. Their battle capabilities are roughly on par with Metatron, it has similar divination powers to Rasiel though it can't make stuff reality, and its strongest move Regalia is pretty much a better version of Eden and would override Paradise Lost if activated inside it. Which, they would do, because Furu utterly despises the entire concept of Eden as a whole. Uriel would effectively be a Story-Breaker Power like Rasiel, Michael, Eden and Ain Soph Aur. To the surprise of nearly no-one (maybe), much like the other Sephira-Crystal-bound Spirits, Furu's own Sephira, Genesis - and therefore Uriel - is meant for Shido, as per Mio's Shinji-based motives.

The database would rank Furutani as an SS-Class Spirit, on the same level as Rinne and then above her too. The only reason Furutani wouldn't class as an SSS-Class Spirit is because that spot is reserved purely for Mio who is just far ahead of absolutely every other Spirit, naturally as the Spirit of Origin. Besides her, Isaac when he essentially becomes Inverse Mio and Shido with all Spirits sealed end up in the SSS-Class section too. In my version, Mukuro, fused Yamai, Tohka, Furutani, Origami, Kurumi, Nia and Rinne would all be SS-Class. Besides Mio, Isaac and Shido, Furutani would almost certainly be one of the most powerful Spirits of all unless Mukuro had anything to say about it. However due to their inexperience in battle and disabilities, they would also likely be defeated by fused Yamai while being level both with Origami and Tohka due to their Fecto Elfilis-esque fighting style. Since their personality partially resembles (and their powers are based on) Faust and Gwyn Reynolds who are at or near the top and both beyond overpowered in their respective series/verses, this absurd level of overpowered-ness would fit. Though frankly, Furu's personality resembles Rin Tezuka's more than anything. It also resembles to various extents the personalities of Mizore Shirayuki and Naho Saenoki. Furu seems confusing, but they aren't. Furu will tell you that.

In this version of the verse, the Main Spirit power ranking would go like this, along with their assigned classes for my version (equivalent to canon, except for alterations based on grading that goes from SSS to A with anything from A to C and below utilised for AST or others*):

The Inverse variants are the same class as the normal variants in this version, but are still generally better in combat.

Weirdly, the many yandere Spirits would include Rinne, Mukuro, Furutani and Mio, potentially even Origami and Kurumi. In essence, Furutani would be equivalent to Rin Tezuka or even Mizore Shirayuki.

The attacks are partially based on those used by Gwyn Ronny and extra info about their power is also based on Gwyn and his canon battles. They are also partially inspired by Faust and Twisted Tempo. Their main arc and recovery is also inspired by the story of Gwyn Ronny in Beyblade Burst and Hanako Ikezawa of Katawa Shoujo as is the case for all variants of the OC - who was created originally as a coping method for someone who was isolated and lonely due to constant bullying due to being disabled and no one attempting to try and understand them, with lack of self-worth and lack of self-acceptance as standard. Yes, that person is me. I regret nothing.

Attacks of Uriel/Abaddon:

Onbashira [טוריי (Turre) -> Torii] -> A vaguely lavender purple band traces itself and expands into an ethereal barrier that looks like a celestial paintbrush stroke. It contracts upon contact and then pushes out to deflect incoming attacks. It is capable to deflecting Lahathelev (Kerubiel) and Shemesh (Metatron) at once with great effort. It is also capable of withstanding a meteor summoned by Lataib (Michael) when working together with other defensive techniques. A blast from Megiddo (Camael) or the effects of Solo (Gabriel) are enough to break Onbashira.

Palette [אשת שלג (Esht Shelag) -> Yuki-Onna] -> The user gestures as if they were placing (watercolour) pencil or paintbrush to canvas, and a constantly-fluctuating-in-colour pocket draws surrounding residue mana into the arm which forms a large ethereal blade which then back-slashes against the opponent. This move is able to defeat Zadkiel. It can also severely damage Zaphkiel. When enhanced by March (Gabriel), Palette (Uriel) can take down Zadkiel and Haniel in one go after being momentarily pushed back. The move is sent packing by Symphony (Gabriel) if the latter is amplified by enough soundwaves.

Spectrum [מארח שמימי (Mareh Shamimi) -> Heavenly Host] -> A celestial fog that looks a bit like intergalactic space and is absurdly cold like intergalactic space appears and slowly spreads around the area surrounding Furutani, who then slowly brings their hand which is glowing lavender purple through the fog. Once fully outstretched in front of them, they then close their hand while at the same time bringing their arm still straightened from in front of them to as far behind them as it will reasonably go, causing the celestial fog to disperse. At the fog's sudden fading, the Shimenawa fades and transfers its energy in the form of the full spectrum of colour - even black and white - to the user giving them a boost in power. In the Inverse Form, the wings fade instead. This move allows Uriel to hold its own against a fused Yamai's Raphael, and can be used to sustain El Elyon after Jerez (Michael) initially dismantles it. The hair turns lavender, dull red or grey-silver in this state depending on their mood.

Eclipse [רוח רפאים (Roah Refaim) -> Youkai] -> {Demon King Version} -> The corrupted form of the ultimate move of Uriel/Abaddon, used by Abaddon. The compass glows violently in an ice-blue colouring with the needles rotating counter-clockwise at breakneck speed, and the wings shift to where their end points are separated by a small gap in front of the user and emit a colossal shockwave which retracts in on itself and then gather residue mana in that gap before the energy is grabbed and thrown into the sky where it expands outwards in a bright ball of lavender purple light. Within it is a dense ice-cold fog within which the user forms a scissor-esque weapon***** in one hand and their Gohei/paintbrush thing in the other hand and charges towards the opponent. Eclipse (Abaddon) is capable of matching Artelif (Metatron).

Parity [סופת שלגים (Sufat Shlagim) -> Snowstorm] -> {Angel Version} -> The true nature of the ultimate move of Uriel/Abaddon, used by Uriel and unlocked after Clarkov finally realises they're allowed to be themselves, stops being Inverse and uses their Angel Uriel for the first time near the end of the hypothetical final battle between Clarkov and Shido in the fan-made arc Furutani Beginning. The Shimenawa emits a colossal shockwave and the user holds their hands to their heart and releases them. The user then holds both hands around the ball of energy and gently releases it as if they were reaching out to hug someone, upon which it forms an ice-white aura on El Elyon that gathers mana from the surrounding area and draws it towards below where the user is standing in the form of black-ish jagged streaks of light. Upon contact with an opposing force, the ball spreads out in a small space containing a scene resembling something out of Otherworld (see: Miitopia) with a lavender tint. The origin point explodes within the space and forms into a shape resembling the shockwave of a frozen star going hypernova of the same colour erupting from the centre where Uriel's user and the opponent have collided. There's also a lot of dandelions present. The Angel equivalent is more powerful than the Demon King equivalent, a rarity for Uriel and in general. Parity (Uriel) can match and even surpass Artelif (Metatron) in direct combat.

Revelation [אמן (Amen) -> Artist] -> The natural ability of Uriel to quantify and produce a solution for any subjective problem that comes to the user's mind, no matter how difficult. It manifests in the form of equations and formulae flowing from the Shimenawa into the head. However it is ineffective when confronted with objective problems. The Inverse Form does not have this ability as it is clouded by vast negative emotions. Think of it like this, Rasiel excels at objective information while Uriel excels at subjective information.

Regalia [עיוות/מושלם (Katawa/Amants) -> Imperfect] -> Uriel's final and most powerful ability after having it's hidden power hypothetically unlocked by Shifuru (Michael). The Shimenawa moves from behind the user to the front and emits a shockwave even greater than that from Parity, powerful enough to shake the entire vicinity for miles around and partially shred Astral Dresses caught within the blast. From the focal point of the shockwave, a barrier similar to that of Parity expands outward that contains its own reality which Uriel has total control of via a shrine complete with a torii and onbashira in the epicentre of a field covered in ice and dandelions. It is extremely similar to Paradise Lost (Eden) and is effectively a superior version of Eden in terms of power and capabilities but is vastly outclassed by Ain Soph because of course it is. It can also act as a defensive barrier capable of withstanding attacks from both Halvanhelev (Sandalphon) and El Kanaph (Raphael) at the same time.

The Limited form, after being sealed, has access to vastly weakened variants of its abilities. Shifuru (Michael) is capable of awakening Uriel's hidden power. With the fading of Genesis alongside the other Sephira Crystals, El Elyon and Uriel disappeared with them.

Uriel is virtually powerless against Ain Soph Aur, Ain Soph and Ain. The likes of Henet and Anaph crush Onbashira, Palette, Spectrum and Parity into fine dust. However Revelation can help hold back the effects of Ain Soph briefly. Even Regalia is completely rended by Ain Soph and Ain, mainly because while Regalia is superior to Eden, Ain Soph is vastly superior to Regalia. The barrier form of Regalia is also overpowered.

but in the meantime i've actually been collecting the manga slowly to relive the story again. also because i know that the anime actually diverges quite a but from the manga, so it'll be nice to see what other different plots the manga introduces.

but one of the main reasons i picked it up was because i really wanted to see what the manga did with shu's red eye arc and valt and shu's making up afterwards. it always felt too sudden for me in the anime, and that we didn't really get to hear much about shu's thoughts after valt beat him.

i'm finally reading through the final bits of this arc now, and i do plan on making a comparison once i'm done, so stay tuned for that!

I don't like Evolution so far...

You know, I've been watching evolution and I gotta say... I don't like i so far, at least not the start I'm at ep 16. People keep hyping it up as the greatest season ever but I feel like it's just blind fanatism for Free and Silas. I made a whole ass thread on Twitter about why I don't like it, but I still want to share my thoughts here, so buckle up people.

Also like, please remember I've only gotten to when they go to México, so I can't take into account any kind of character moments or character development that happens after that 'cause I obviously haven't seen any of that yet unless I got spoiled.

It's actually a single very simple issue, but it bothers me a lot 'cause this wasn't a problem in season 1, or at least it wasn't so big; I feel they misuse so much of their time, like, let me explain. They had like 15 episodes of a whole arc, to introduce around 12 new characters and I don't even know who half of them are supposed to be (counting only the guys back at BC Sol).

Season one had also 15 eps of the first arc, but around numeber 5 you already know the basics about every big player in that arc and even most side characters. Those being the main 6, plus Hoji, Orochi, Xander, and both Valt and Daigo's families.

Wakiya and Daigo had more impact in this arc than most of the new characters on Valt’s side, I care more for the French team than the new supposed deuteragonists. Why do you make so many new characters if you won’t do shit with almost any of them? How do you make me care more about the secondary characters more than the main gang?.

Most of these eps were incredibly boring to me because they just got rid of the thing I loved so much about season one, every character had something that made them different from the rest or a reason to care about them, but during this arc most characters are "literally who"s.

Like, I might for example not care about Zac or Ukio that much, but I have friends who do. But Honey? Django? I don’t know a single person who even remembers them. And there was no improvement to anything else from Season 1, so there’s nothing to make up for this issue.

They should have actually taken the time to introduce everyone and show you just who they are. Who’s Django for example? Because right now he’s literally just a walking stereotype, not even a character, give me a reason to care about the fact he’s leaving. Stan got incredibly upset when that happened, clearly it was supposed to be an important thing, specially looking at how much it changed Stan's own character into an abrasive and resentful shit stain of a guy for a while.

Like I said, I think they should use the first few episodes to properly introduce Valt’s new friends. Show Django and Stan’s supposed friendship and how they were supposed to be among the strongest bladers besides Free, show me Valt befriending the new people, show them Honey interacting with her sister, HOW does she not have any chemistry with HER SISTER. Just make them feel like actual characters instead of replacing already loved and established characters with boring different nationality versions of themselves.

THEN you bring the plot. They don’t even need that many eps, they’ve clearly proved they can give them that treatment with just one, look at Cuza or Gashem, for example. They established them perfectly, why can't they do that with the characters you're supposed to see every episode? The story would be so much better if they made you actually care about these people, but they just didn't.

So many moments in the later half of these few first eps would be vastly improved, the few times someone decided to leave, that one time everyone got mad at Valt and Rantaro after meeting with Daigo, Silas rejoining, the little conversations Kris and Trad often have.

I just wanna care about whatever is happening, like I did in season 1. Kris and Ange's conversation in that one ep, Kit following Valt to the royal's place, everything Free did, those are great examples, I needed more of that, just give me character moments, tell me who these people are, please, I wanna care.

I posted these on my Wattpad account a while ago, and I’m curious to see what others think of them.

(Beyblade Burst X Demon Slayer part 1)

(Mostly based off of my Elemental Masters AU)

Valt

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Thunder Breathing, and he would know all six forms.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Dragon Storm: he can shoot electricity from his mouth and manipulate the electric charges in the air to create a large storm that he can psychically control. He can also deliver painful shocks to those he touches, and can send charges along items of metal.

Jin

As a Demon Slayer, Jin's Breathing Style would be Wind Breathing and he would know all nine forms (and his sword sheath would be in his coat sleeve for that dramatic SHING moment).

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Spirit Wind. The winds he creates within his cloak can manifest into the ghostly forms of people his opponents have lost. He can psychically control these apparitions to do and say as he pleases - either to fight his enemies or to manipulate them into surrendering. He can also use simple wind gusts to parry incoming attacks.

Ukyo

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Mist Breathing, and he would know all six forms.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Shroud of Mystery. He can cast illusions to disorient and confuse his opponents. At least, he can make himself or other things appear as if they're not there; at most, he can make it seem as if they're in an entirely different landscape. (I tried to make him look mysterious without making him look fully female - I almost gave him lipstick, but thought that would be too much.)

Free

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Sun Breathing, and he would impressively know all thirteen forms.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Mirror Power. When he faces a strong opponent, his body and mind automatically adjust to match his enemy's power, strength, and strategy. He can match his opponent blow for blow and guess each move they make before they even make it.

Lui

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Mist Breathing, though he mostly uses the styles that deliver the most damage.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Smoke Screen. He can create a thick smoke from the various pores on his body to either disorient or kill his opponent. His smoke types range from Sight Impairing to Suffocating.

Xander

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Fire Breathing, and he would know all six forms (and he would have two swords because yes).

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Flames of Hell. His body temperature can reach levels to the point that areas of his body can combust into flames. When it does so, the air around him becomes rival to a volcano's core in heat. An attempt to behead him means risking having one's skin melt off.

Ren Wu

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Water Breathing, and he would know all ten forms.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Mind Cage. If his opponent looks directly into his third eye, he can take control of their bodies to make them do as he pleases. In this state, the conscious of his enemy is placed into a never ending cycle of mind bending nightmares in order to keep them from trying to regain control. Also, if he focuses his third eye at a person, he can read whatever they are thinking in the moment.

Ken

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Stone Breathing, though he would mostly use Third Form: Stone Skin to better accommodate his sword.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Metal Tomb. The plates he grows on his chest and arms can sprout tendrils of metal that he can either maul or shoot and completely entangle his opponent with, slowly crushing them to death. The plates can also extend around his limbs to create an impenetrable armor. The tendrils also come in handy in picking up far-off objects - and people.

Daigo

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Wind Breathing, and he would know all nine forms (also two swords because Doomscizor has two scythes).

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Total Black. He can manipulate the shadows within his cloak to create several tangible limbs for combat - mostly arms. He can also release the shadows like a cloud; if his opponent gets trapped in that cloud, he can smother all of their senses - sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste - to the point that they're completely numb. In that state, they're totally at his mercy.

Shu

As a Demon Slayer, his Breathing Style would be Sun Breathing, and being the prodigy he is, he would know all thirteen forms.

As a demon, his Blood Demon Art would be Energy Wave. He can produce a white energy wave from his hands. This energy wave can either completely heal or completely destroy whoever he aims it at, depending on how he feels towards them; he can control the size of the wave from effecting an entire army to a single person.

it's exactly what it sounds like. i'm gonna be including both bsb and burst characters here, and obviously it won't be even close to every character (hell there were even a couple who i wanted to include but i just couldn't figure out their vibe or atleast, how to put it into words) so yeah. feel free to add on i guess

BAKUTEN SHOOT BEYBLADE:

takao: ok there's a really specific vibe here but i cannot quite pin down what exactly it is. doing a quick look on wikipedia it appears to be either pop punk or emo pop or just something adjacent to that. society if i knew shit about music genres

kai: once again there's a really specific vibe here but i don't know how to put it. mirror of the world from guilty gear strive hope that helps

max: i say this as someone who once had an owl city phase for a few months, he listens to owl city

hiromi: on one hand she feels like someone who would buy into the miku hype but also going by her reaction to an actual idol singer (as opposed to miku, who is literally just a product) she probably wouldn't? either way i think she'd listen to some of the more well known vocaloid songs, or atleast the more well known ones that aren't super dark

team WHO, yes all four of them: these guys listen exclusively to bdg's halloween cover albums and nothing else

kane: i was doing some stuff today, not today as in the day i'm posting this but as in the day i wrote this bit, and through one hell of a Timing Moment i was inexplicably hit with the thought of "kane weezer listener"

brooklyn: i feel like he'd listen to syudou probably? gut feeling tm, again it's another case of a very particular vibe
