This month's @jilychallenge took a while to get started but when I had the idea this morning it came through!
Prompt: “everything is just a competition for you… isn’t it?” “isn’t it for you, too?” & the trope Fake dating I only really focused on the second one. Partner: @annabtg AO3
She could have picked any time to ask him a favour, honestly, there would have been plenty of times better than rushing this between classes. But her Intro to Alchemy class was right next to his Ancient Runes and it made sense to walk together. It made sense to fill the silence with idle chatter, the weather, their class and inevitably the Hogsmeade trip that weekend.
Lily sternly reminded herself that there was no time like the present. Especially because it was already damn near impossible for her to catch a moment without Sirius in earshot. So, she sucked in a deep breath through her teeth, which faltered their steps. “You alright, Evans?” James asked at the sound and presented her with the opportunity.
“Yeah,” she replied, her voice flipping unconvincingly, and an awkward smile made the corners of her lip jump up. “Yes,” she said again, this time more firmly, before rushing into her next words before James could get a remark in. “I’ve been meaning to ask you for advice, rather an insight.”
James’ eyebrows slid up towards his hairline and he nodded slowly. “An insight? Into what?” he replied, his curiosity carefully measured, as if she had not learned to read him like her favourite book over the past few months.
Lily wrung the strap of her bag, hoping to dispel some of the nervous energy that settled in her fingers. “Well, I was thinking of asking Sirius to go to Hogsmeade with me. Think he’d be keen?” The words stumbled out of her mouth clumsily, an uneven rhythm that betrayed her uncertainty. Still, her gaze did not waver from his face.
So, she saw his eyes narrow and the smile on his lips grow tight while he processed her words. She watched James run his tongue over his teeth under his lips before nodding curtly. “I reckon he’d be keen, you two are mates,” he answered after, what she assumed was him assessing her intention behind her question.
“I wasn’t going to ask as mates, though,” she pointed out and watched the mildly amused mask slip for a moment.
His jaw tight, teeth clenched as James smiled back at him. “Didn’t know you fancied him like that,” he remarked, his tone flat.
“What’s not like?”
“Yeah, I guess. I don’t know if he’s keen but…”
“But what?”
They paused at the door of his classroom and they peered inside to see Sirius already in his seat. “But nothing,” James muttered, his shoulders slumping as he deflated. “I’ll check with him, alright? See you for rounds.”
“Not if I see you first,” Lily shot back with a bright smile, her fingers brushing along his sleeve before grabbing his hand and giving it a brief squeeze. Only to turn away before he could react.

Come evening, Lily stood waiting for rounds when around the corner came, not her Head Boy. She tried to not be disappointed at the sight of Remus, she liked him, and it would hurt him to see her be less than glad to see him. But she was disappointed. “He wasn’t feeling up for it?” she asked when she fell into step with him.
“He’s been…”
“Moping?”
“You could say that,” Remus said with a scoff and an affectionate smile on his face. “Care to tell me why James is being a miserable sod, or should I guess?” He gave her a side-eyed glance and a bump with his hip, trying to encourage her to say something.
Lily just hummed and shrugged while pulling a face. “Nothing that didn’t need to be done,” she answered, a smug smile playing around her lips. “So, neither of them said anything to you then?”
Remus stopped and grabbed her hand when Lily didn’t to tug her around. “Neither?”
Well, shit. “Freudian slip,” Lily said, her lips pressed into a thin line. She made an attempt to pull him along to continue their rounds. Remus wouldn’t budge. He just dug in his heels and let her attempt to move his dead weight. “Oh come off it!” she complained, trying to put all of her weight into pulling.
“Tell me,” Remus said calmly, letting his hand go slack, and she could feel her fingers slip. Lily was forced to put her efforts to move him on pause. “How bad can it really be?” At that, Lily clicked her tongue and decided to completely give up on making him move; Releasing Remus’ hand to tuck hers under her armpit, hugging her own chest with a sour expression on her face.
Lily jutted her head towards the empty hallway, her eyes darting around the collection of paintings—One more willing to wag their tongue than the next—and hoped that Remus would understand.
Reluctantly, Remus followed and walked beside her in companionable silence while they rounded off the first floor.
They were stuck on a staircase that decided to move while they were on it when she spoke. “I asked James to ask Sirius to come to Hogsmeade,” she explained, her head moving from side to side as she made her confession.
“Is that it?” Remus chuckled and she didn’t need to look to know he was wrinkling his nose in amusement.
The laugh died when she added: “As my date.” The silence that followed was heavy, filled with shock and confusion. It lasted long enough that Lily was irked by the way it made her nervous and decided to shoot Remus a glare.
He was clearly trying to work out what to say, his mouth opening and closing like a fish on dry land. So, she gave him a moment to recover and climb to the top step, waiting for the stair to connect once more.
“Well,” Remus eventually started, his tongue pressed to the back of his teeth while he, again, mulled over his words. “That is not something I expected to hear.”
Lily deadpanned and breezed out through her nose. “If Potter wanted me to go with him, he should have asked,” she said casually, a knowing smile spreading across her lips. Which did not go unnoticed by Remus who only had to raise a brow to entice the words out of her. “I’ve asked him out at least five times now and he somehow always misconstrues my intentions. So, I decided to give him a little nudge.”
“By asking out his best mate?”
“By having his best mate stand me up and be forced to finally take me on that bloody date himself,” she corrected and watched as Remus’ attitude pivoted from shocked to impressed.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
The morning of the Hogsmeade trip, Lily’d made sure that she was early just in case James decided to head out before everyone else. She was standing reading as she leaned against a pillar in the courtyard, huddled in her cloak against the morning chill when he passed her by.
“Big plans?” Lily asked from the shadows and watched James jolt in surprise, turning to look where her voice had come from. She flashed him a smile and stepped into the early afternoon light.
James offered her only a polite smile, eyes making a quick sweep from crown to sole, no doubt taking in her date outfit. A dress she knew he liked, she’d caught him staring at her in it several times. It had been a deliberate choice, and she was glad she made it when she watched him gulp. “No, just a quick trip. Nothing special,” he said with a shrug.
Lily smiled softly and hummed. “Picking up some supplies?”
“That’s the plan.” He nodded and he jumped up to his hair to smooth it back. “What about you? Have anything special planned for your date?” It was clear that he was uncomfortable asking this, but he really was doing his best to be a good friend.
This realisation almost made Lily cave and confess the plan to him, but they were so close. All she had to do now was deliver the hook. “Oh just, you know, date things. That is if Sirius hasn’t overslept too much. Was he on his way when you headed out?”
James’ expression shifted the instant she asked her question. “No? Was he supposed to be?”
Lily just nodded and hummed innocently, like she didn’t know this was going to happen. “We were supposed to meet fifteen minutes ago.”
He blinked a couple of times, turned to the castle and then back at Lily before petting his pocket, presumably for the super secret mirror only everyone knew about.”Are you sure? Cause he was still in bed when I left.”
“Yeah, pretty sure we said ten,” she told him, forcing the corners of her lips downward, making a real attempt to look disappointed. “I’m sure he’s just forgotten the time and is rushing now,” she said optimistically, knowing full well that he wouldn’t be there for at least another forty-five minutes to check if things worked out.
James’ brows knit together while his focus shifted between her and the bridge leading to town, his teeth massaging his bottom lip. “You know what? How about we wait for him to show over a butterbeer?”
“I thought you wanted to be quick?”
“Well, I also want my best mate to not be an arse but seems like I won’t be getting my way today regardless. So, I’d rather spend it with good company.”
“You don’t have to chaperone me, I’ll be fine,” Lily protested, mostly for posterity.
James laughed at this and offered her his arm. “It’s no bother, I hate seeing you disappointed.”
She gladly hooked his arm through his, letting herself be pulled closer, leaning into him as they started down the path to the village. “So, you’re my substitute date then?”
“I wouldn’t say that, but I could be if you’d want me to be.”
Lily fell silent for a moment, letting the words hang between them as she worked up the courage to say the words. “I’d love a real date with you.”
They stopped suddenly, James pulling her to a halt so abruptly she nearly pulled out of his grip. “Do you mean that?” His voice was smaller than she’d ever heard it before, uncharacteristically uncertain.
“Yes.” was all the answers she could give him, all the answers he should need.
The crease between James’ brow deepened, the look in his eyes intense. “Then why didn’t you just ask me?”
A pained smile painted across Lily’s lip, recognizing the pain behind the words.  “I did. I have. You just…”
“All those times? The last trip? The lake? The library?”
Lily nodded as he listed several of her attempts to do something romantic with him, and he’d assumed it had been just her being friendly. “All those times,” she confirmed, her shoe scuffing the cobbles.
James raked a hand over his face and groaned. “So, then, why ask Sirius?”
“To get your attention,” she replied simply, matter-of-factly. “If you’d think we’re dating, if you’d think that he stood me up you’d do… Well, this.” Lily motioned vaguely between them and the world around them.
James sucked his teeth and looked away, clearly frustrated. “It worked,” he muttered, clearly irritated.
She stepped forward, closing the space between them, and lifted her hand to cradle his cheek. A rush of warmth crashed over her when he immediately leaned into her palm, his eyes closed. “You are both the worst,” he complained as he turned his head to kiss her palm.
“Bad enough to not want that date?” she questioned, her heart hammering against her ribs, fast and painful.
“No, I, shamefully, have to admit that you need to do a lot more and a lot worse than this to make me turn down a proper date with you,” he told her earnestly, his eyes soft as he looked at her again, this time feeling different.
“Then let’s go.”

Cesare felt the air around him still and chill in the same stroke. His eyes narrowed on Quin and all the alcohol he'd drank felt as though it evaporated through every pore on his body. In that moment he couldn't understand the man's tone but he felt the rigidiness just the same. He hadn't done anything wrong. Not really. Had Beau confused him for a few moments? Yes. But nothing more had come of that. And once the prince found out who he was and what he was doing, it wasn't difficult to deduce the rest. But clearly Quintus wasn't ready or willing to do that yet and he'd have to explain in a way that didn't seem as though he were trying to defend the other to him. Wasn't he just the one being made to be made?
"I don't think it's difficult to understand that someone in his line of work." He paused, staring pointedly at the other for a moment before he continued. "Don't always receive the best treatment. And knowing the man that was pulling his strings." Which was partly a lie. Cesare didn't know their uncle well. Or, as well as he'd thought he had. In all the years he'd ventured to the castle in Vivec alone and in his father's tow, he'd never had Richard treat him poorly. The odd comment here and there, with more frequency as he'd grown closer to Quin, but never would he have guessed he was a power hungry man, hell bent on dethroning his own nephews at any cost. "I didn't think it was such a jump to assume that some of what has happened with you may also have happened with him." His brow raised and he sighed out, not ready to admit the next part. "Because you do look similiar enough that I imagine whatever he he wanted to say or do to you he often took out on Beau instead when the opportunity didn't present itself with you."
The prince stretched himself out on his bed, leaning back against the headboard. There it is. The soft, fuzzy feeling of the meade found him again and he breathed out slowly. "You've never told me the extent of what happened with ... Richard." He started, crossing his ankles over each other and his hands folded over and laid against his lap. It was hard to hear that name in his own voice. Until that moment he was fairly certain they'd never uttered his name between themselves. But the threat was very real and not using his name made it feel like he was bigger than they, and that simply could never be in Cesare's opinion. "Beau wasn't kind when he said it." He started, his fingers itching to dig into anything to make this less painful to speak about, less painful to watch Quintus' face when he'd finally gotten it out. "But I started putting it together. The way you don't like to be touched and how you're constantly on top of everything and everyone." He gave a slight shake of his head because honestly this did nothing but show just how strong this man on the bed was to him. And should be to everyone. "He only confirmed the missing piece that I'd been guessing at."
Cesare's tongue swiped along his lips to keep them from drying out completely. "Please don't take my kindness towards him as anything but that." He swallowed hard and fought himself on what he was about to say next but he thought better than to hide it. "When I first came upon Beau in what were suppose to be your quarters I couldn't be sure it was you. The room was too dark." The contents of his stomach churned and he felt odd enough to shift his weight. "He shared a kiss or two but nothing more than that." His cheeks instantly flared to the bright redness of coals and he found himself wanting to sink completely into the mattress. "I realized he wasn't you and threatened him within an inch of his life to get me to you and when that didn't work." He sighed and shrugged again. "I just tried to treat him like a person." He paused, seeing the snide comment coming quick but he cut Quin off before it could be made. "He wants to live. Free. Just like you and I. Just like everyone else. I couldn't imagine the sort of life one leads pretending to be someone else. Never having anything that is truly your own." Cesare gave a slight shake of his head and breathed out through his nose. "I just didn't want to be the sort of person that sees someone in a bad position regardless of their own involvement and not do anything to help. I've never been that way and I won't start now." He was firm on that whether Quin liked it or not. He could only hope his honesty didn't cost him everything else in the process.
Tumblr media
Beau didn’t deserve anything, especially from Quintus, and as he rolled over to tell Cesare just that, he stopped being cold in his movements.
He survived not great things too.
Quin’s body went cold at the words, eyes narrowing as he read them for what they were. It could mean that Cesare knew, but he was many things, and a great actor was not one of them. He believed if Cesare knew about his past with his uncle, he would not be able to contain himself. His future husband would go through all of the stages of grief knowing that any kind of physical harm had come to Quintus, especially at such a young age. He could have simply meant all of the other horrors his uncle had committed, but that was banking on the idea that Cesare hadn’t made the connection regarding what Beau was to Quin’s uncle.
It was challenging to decide if he wanted to press it when he couldn’t determine precisely what Cesare knew. If he did know, Quin would have to live with the stain of his uncle tainting their relationship, potentially ruining their future wedding plans. If he didn’t realize, Quin would be serving the truth to him on a silver platter.
He sat up as Cesare came over with the tray. He only ate what was handed to him because he didn’t want Cesare to comment on his lack of appetite. Quin ate slowly, chewing meticulously, but everything tasted like ash, and with every bite, he had to force himself to swallow. It was like chewing nails. He listened to Cesare’s words, looking up from the dried fruit in his hands to study his expression. If there was ever a time Quintus wished he could read minds, it was this moment.
He wanted to share Cesare’s excitement about having both Avenicci brothers under the same roof and look forward to experiencing Adros with Cesare, but Quin was that kind of man. He couldn’t let things go; he couldn’t ignore the possibility that Cesare may know and wasn’t admitting it.
“What did you mean,” He said slowly, carefully. He ripped the piece of fruit in his hand to shreds, flicking the bits of skin off on the tray. “Earlier.’ Quintus glanced up at Cesare, gaze scanning over his face. “When you said ‘He survived not great things too’?” Quin raised a brow, waving his hand flippantly. “He was playing a role for my uncle. Pretending to be me, he agreed to go to trial disguised as me to plead guilty. While I was locked in my room and drugged constantly,  he had the run of the castle and could come and go as he pleased.  Anything he wanted was given to him as long as he played by my uncle’s rules, which he did so eagerly. So I suppose I’m just confused about what horrors he faced that you have been made aware of. He’s faced enough to warrant you saving and smuggling him out of the country. So please, do share."

Jealousy can be very ugly.
It can also be very hot. And on Aaron Hotchner it was sexy as hell. The way his jaw clenched, his eyes darken, and the air around him just got thick with tension you knew about, but the line was never crossed.
You had feelings for Aaron, everyone in the BAU knew it, he knew it, and he still had yet to decide what, and if, he felt for you.
You always tried to push him, loving the way he seemed so close to losing it only to watch him attempt to reel himself in. Once you had danced with a guy at the bar after a long case and your eyes never left Aaron. No matter how many times the guy dipped his head to kiss (more like slobbered with how drunk he was) your neck, you continued to stare at him, surprised that the glass he was holding didn’t break with the force of his grip, his knuckles already white.
And when you decided you were done with your dance partner, you attempted to leave only to have him get aggressive. You knew you could fit him off if need be, but it was much more satisfying when Aaron strode over and introduced him to that amazing right hook of his.
It was even better when he took you roughly by the waist and led you out of the bar.
In his car, you tried to push a little more, wanting him to finally admit something to you.
“God,” You sigh and brush your hand down his arm, admiring the way they flex under your touch, “You are so hot when you are jealous.”
“I’m not jealous.”
“There is no need to deny the chemistry between us, Aaron. We aren’t on the clock so you aren’t my Unit Chief, and I am not your underling, though I would so love to be under you.” You purr, warmth flooding your as his tongue darts out to wet his lower lip, your eyes following the motion longingly.
It would be easier if he would just give in to what was going on between the two of you.
But sadly, that was where the night ended for you.
Aaron took you back to your apartment, walked you up (like the gentleman he was), and left you there all alone.
Over the next few months you tried again and again to prove there was something between you, not only physically, but emotionally as well.
Pulling him out of his office for lunch or bringing it to him, just to make sure he would eat. Putting sticky notes on his monitor or his desk with little encouragements and reminders since you knew he could get too far into his own head and needed some help out.
And it wasn’t like he didn’t do things for you.
Bringing you coffee, made just to your liking, at the beginning of the shift or when you run low on your own coffee. He always seemed to know when you needed your fix. He also would save you a seat on the plane, the one next to the window because he knows you like to look out at the clouds during long flights.
“When we land, Y/n, Reid and I will go to the police station to set up. Morgan, you and Emily check out the crime scene.”
Aaron dished out the rest of the orders as the plane started to descend. Honestly after he told you where you were going to be, which of course was with him because he always seemed to think he needed to keep an eye on you, something you couldn’t decide if was out of how similar your skill sets are or because he has a constant need to be near you, you stopped listening.
You were certain that it was both. You knew Aaron wouldn’t sacrifice the case or the people involved just for a romantic feeling towards you.
Once you landed and got to the police station, everything seemed to flash by in a whirlwind.
You barely had any time to focus on anything other than catching the asshole that was killing women.
“You seem to be running into the ground, Agent.”
Officer Danny Grant was such a little cutie and seemed to immediately take a liking to you.
“I’ll rest when we catch this guy.” You reach for your cup of awful cop coffee, even though it was the only thing keeping you going at the moment, but frowned when you found the cup empty.
Cursing, you turn away from the board to get more.
“Here.” Grant offered you another cup, his face a little flushed and a smile on his lips. “I noticed you were low. I don’t know how you take it so I just made it black. If you need any creamer or sugar I can get it for you.”
“Thanks, Grant.” You smiled and took the cup. The warmth of it not only warming your hands, but your heart a little as well. Usually Aaron would bring you coffee, but this case seemed to take a toll on him, which you remind yourself you would have to check on him later. Now that someone else noticed and cared enough to bring you something so small, yet so vital, was sweet.
You take a sip of the black coffee, wishing it was sweeter, but the jolt of bitterness was the wake up you needed.
“I usually like it sweet, but black is fine. It’s just what I need.”
Grant continued to stick to your side, helping with the case whenever he could and bringing you more coffee (this time with a side of sugar). He was actually very helpful and you enjoyed the company of him, conversation and ideas bouncing easily.
Aaron on the other hand didn’t like the attention you were getting from the young, wide eyed officer.
He couldn’t stand the fact that he was distracting you from the case at hand (even though he wasn’t actually), the way you laughed when he said something you deemed funny, but it wasn’t, and the thing he hated the most was the smile you beamed at him when he brought you more coffee.
The smile you usually only gave him. Why were you giving it to this guy? Even when the group went out and you flirted with other men, knowing that it would get a rise out of him (though he would never admit it out loud) you never gave them that kind smile, the one that made your nose scrunch up so adorably.
It would be so easy for Aaron to go over there. He can imagine himself pulling you away from Grant. It wasn’t like he didn’t know how you felt pressed against his own body. The amount of nights he had to pull himself away from you, unable to cross that line, the line between boss and subordinate. A line that he’s tiptoed since the first time he saw you.
If only it was that simple to give into you.
A few hours later, you could feel your steam running out and your eyes drooping, no matter how much coffee you drank.
“There hasn’t been any new information.” Aaron’s voice woke you just before your head hit the conference table for the second time that night, “Let’s call it a night and look at this in the morning with fresh eyes.”
“No no,” you whine, failing to lift your eyelids, “I can keep going.”
“Agent Hotchner is right. Come on, let's get you to the hotel.”
Just as Grant reached for you, Aaron was quick to his feet, striding over to you with only a few steps and grabbing your shoulder before Grant could. “I have her.” Aaron lifted you up, one hand resting under both of your legs and the other on your back, smirking at Grant as you wrap your arms around his neck and snuggle into him.
The look of shock on the officer’s face was sickeningly satisfying.
Never would Aaron be this bold, especially in front of others, but he couldn’t help himself. He couldn't just let this man touch you. Not after spending all day watching his poor attempts at flirting.
You could, and probably would, be upset with him tomorrow.
Aaron lifted his chin, daring others to say anything as he made his way through the precinct with you tucked in his arms. Once you were outside, you push your face into his neck subconsciously, inhaling his scent and sending a shiver through him, thankful that at least some part of you waited until you were out of sight to get clingy with him.
“You are,” You yawn, lips brushing against his skin,”so hot when you are jealous.”
“I am not jealous.”
All you did was hum in response as you drift off to sleep in his arms.
Tumblr media
For the rest of the case you stuck to Grant every chance you got, barely paying Aaron any attention.
He knew you were doing it on purpose. You knew he knew that you knew you were doing it on purpose.
Thankfully the team was able to wrap up the case and it was only one night left before you left.
No more case. No more reason to stay in California. No more Grant.
Aaron wonders if he should be as happy as he was as he pressed the button for your floor on the elevator. He doesn’t have much time to think about it when a minute later the elevator door opens and he sees Grant standing at your door, leaning against the open door with you.
“So now that the case is over, do you want to get dinner before you leave? I’m sure hotel food isn’t as good as a good burger at this little dive I know down the street.”
You giggle at his forwardness. While you do love and want Aaron, turning down a free meal from a cute man before you never see him again couldn’t hurt, right?
“You know a little dive? Is it a ‘California delicacy?’”
Grant leaned in, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “Oh absolutely.”
Rage and jealousy flows through Aaron, his jaw and fists clenched. His legs carried him towards you before his brain could catch up.
No more games.
In a flash, Aaron grabbed Grant by the collar of his shirt, yanking him back and away from you.
“A Aaron?!” You squeak as the man pushes you into your hotel room, closing and locking the door behind you.
His hands grab your wrists, tugging and trapping them above your head, the air leaving you completely as his lips crash against yours.
The months and months of tension finally exploded within you, arching your hips to meet him, gasping when he grips your wrists tighter in warning.
“You really can’t resist flirting can you?” Aaron’s voice may have been calm, almost bored, but his eyes betrayed the fire, the anger he held. “You just love to rile me up.”
“I thought,” you moan when he moves to kiss your neck, “you weren’t jealous.”
His laugh is condescending, one of his hands snaking down to your side while the other held tight. This was the Aaron Hotchner you wanted, the one you knew he could be if you just pushed right, but now that he was here you didn’t quite know how to handle him.
Not that you would let him know. Not as your body shivers when he rests his hand on your waist, nails digging through the material of your jeans.
“You and I both know I am not. Why be jealous when your body is so truthful with me? It tells me everything,” His smirk widens as he cupped your cunt and you whine, subconsciously grinding against his hand, seeking the dull pleasure you could get through the two layers of fabric separating you, “I need to know. It is an open book for me.”
You want to cry when Aaron withdraws from you, only proving his point further. God you want him. More than absolutely anything.
“Now be a good girl and get on the bed. I want you naked and on all fours by the time I get out of the bathroom.”
“T The bathr…” Your words die on your lips when Aaron gives you a pointed stare, one that has you clenching around nothing, before he walks away from you and into the bathroom, leaving the door slightly ajar, almost as if daring you to disobey him.
As much as you wanted to, just to see what he would do to you, you decided that would be for a different time. Quickly shedding your top and jeans, you obey like the good girl you want to be for him.
You wait for what feels like an eternity, but was probably only five minutes before you could hear Aaron’s footsteps coming out of the bathroom. Instinct has you turning your head to look at him, “Don’t you fucking move.” but his harsh voice has you snapping it back and a shiver running down your spine.
Or was that his fingers that danced along your back? Honestly you didn’t know, but you didn;t have time to ponder it before he splayed his open palm across one of your ass cheeks, drawing back and coming down with a swift smack.
You moan, the sudden motion causing you to fall forward, your arms giving out.
“Just a little taste of what happens when you play with me.” Aaron rubbed the spot where you were sure was going to be slightly red from the force. “But I won’t give you more since you seemed to follow my orders like such a good girl.”
A whine escapes you at his words. You wanted to hear them over and over. To be praised by him over and over. His fingers ghost from your ass straight to your center, pressing and feeling, but never fully sinking into you.
“Oh fuck,” You squirm under his carful attention, “Please. Please Aaron!”
“Please what? How will I know what you want without words?”
You cry as the tip of his finger comes dangerously close to your clit only for him to pull it away just as quickly. You knew what he was doing. He was teasing you just like you had teased him, almost like a form of sick payback, and though he did have the upper hand, you felt like you had already won.
You had him in bed.
“Please touch me, Aaron. I need your hands on me, in me, anything.”
“There we go.”
The reward for your confession was sweet. His fingers circled your clit, applying the right amount of pressure that had you moaning loudly. Aaron continued to work you, leaving your brain in a haze of pleasure which only intensified when he finally moved to sink one finger into your core.
“Fuck..” Aaron curses, his finger setting a steady pace, thrusting in and out of you, admiring the embarrassingly wet noises your cunt makes. “You are so wet.”
You moan when he slides a second finger in, then a third, the stretch burning oh so deliciously.
He’s got you at his mercy, hips rocking back to meet his thrusts, drool pooling on the hotel sheets below you. “Aaron!” You cry, the coil in your gut pushing and pushing you closer to the edge, threatening to break and toss you into a sweet release.
“Let go.”
With his permission, and his fingers brushing that sweet spot that made you see stars, you do.
You scream as your orgasm crashes into you. If the outside could hear you, you didn’t care. All that mattered was Aaron, his name the only thing occupying your mind and the only thing spilling out of your mouth as if it was the only name you knew.
And right now it was.
Aaron continued to thrust his fingers into you, helping you through your orgasm until you tried to pull away from him, but his other hand gripped your waist, pulling you back and onto his fingers.
“Aaron!” You squirmed. It was too much, but you didn’t want him to stop as his fingers expertly stroked and thrust, bringing you to a second orgasm in record time. Tears prick your eyes, your body shaking, feeling weightless and not here.
You didn’t even notice when Aaron carefully turned you on your back, brushing your hair back from your face and kissing your forehead. He treated you like procaline, peppering kisses all over your face until you came back to him. “There’s my girl.”
His girl. The thought had you smiling like a lovesick fool, which was appropriate because you were. No longer were the steel eyes and lustful gaze, but soft brown eyes filled with an adoration you weren’t used to seeing. You swallow and reach for him. Aaron wrapped you in his arms and held you close.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
Now what? Was he going to continue? Fuck you? Or, and something you hoped he wouldn’t do, leave you.
Aaron, the ever brilliant profiler he was, could see the war going on in your head before you could speak. He leaned down to kiss you, hand gently rubbing shapes on your upper thigh.
“Don’t worry. I will be right here for more when you wake.”
You feel a little guilty about not returning the favor, but Aaron quickly shuts that down. He grabs the hotel comfort and pulls it up, covering the two of you, tucking you into his chest. Your eyes feel heavy from the force of cumming twice (and Aaron’s skilled fingers) that you couldn’t seem to argue, eyes closing as sleep takes over.
You definitely would make him feel good when you wake up.

the amount of people that matilda actually let in to catch a glimpse of what was the closest thing to being the 'real her' — and by that, i mean sometimes even she herself didn't know who she was, really — was so little thus far... it could be counted on one hand. for also like barton, matilda had this ability to 'chameleon' her way into people's good graces by telling them exactly what they wanted to hear, and being exactly what they wanted her to be in general. though that was mostly when matilda was 'procuring' victims for herself; so around people like jervis, she acted as close as she could to her actual personality with the added condition of not allowing him any room to quote unquote 'figure her out.'
matilda didn't exactly want the other to know exactly who she was after all. doing that would be compromising the one advantage she seemed to have over jervis, just in case he got any weird ideas that he wanted to turn on her, or her father: and that was the quality of being unpredictable. while this was something she did consciously, though, matilda also found that she did or said things that came from an actually authentic part of her deep down inside. which therein, she supposed, lied a paradox. people always liked to compare her to her father as he always seemed to operate under the same confusing logic; but matilda liked to think she was more than just a copy of him despite her adopting a good amount of his behaviors.
matilda found herself humming along to a jazz song that she'd heard a band playing in a dance hall while her and jack were out on a 'night on the town.' they were just planning on passing by it until her younger brother stopped to listen to it when the trombone player came on. they were really good but still, the place was mostly deserted. so jack saw it fit to tell matilda they should go in there. which, indeed, they did. it was strange for someone to tell her that she'd been a part of making someone's day but that is what one of the band members told the both of them at the end of their set. she'd expressed that it was really nice to see people dancing to their music again.
and even though it was a small thing, it stuck in her mind like glue for some reason. matilda had actually gotten the number of the trombone player as he invited her to go to their next show and jack had teased her endlessly about it for the rest of the night. 'he was making such big googly eyes at you, sis — so now you have to go and see him the next time they play or you're gonna make him completely devastated.' it made matilda feel like a normal human being for a moment. something she hadn't felt in a long time, and that she liked. matilda simply blinked down at the peeling skin on barton's hand then. the trombone player, ramses, was in new york city now as part of a tour after being discovered and she was stuck here.
killing people. matilda inhaled sharply as she tried not to think about him anymore, and sat next to jervis, though with enough distance between them that she wasn't in his 'bubble.' she had once been told that she was off-putting by someone at gotham university and that was the whole reason why they left her to do all the work on their group project. for a moment, matilda wondered whether jervis felt the same way about her and if he had the choice, he'd rather be dealing with her father than her. but she shut down that thought upon seeing the thumbnail of the video. it was crazy what they were showing on this news channel when they supposedly wanted to be taken seriously.
this thought made her laugh as the broadcast showed those two god awful pictures of them, as if they hand-picked those just because they made them look as unhinged as possible. coughing, matilda nodded in response to jervis's questions before saying, ❝ yeah. i mean, if i didn't know any better, i'd say you'd done something personal to these news-people and they picked these photos purely out of spite. ❞ she cleared her throat before she could no longer hide her laughter and did so in her hands. ❝ oh, my god. it's funny because i actually know the story behind that photo of dad and it is... just, ❞ matilda didn't have the words for it at the time, so she simply made a 'chef's kiss' gesture with her hand.
when the time for the so-called 'character witnesses' to make their statements, she listened to the ones regarding jervis and appreciated them as one might appreciate a movie that was 'so bad, its good.' though the ones talking about her dad were somehow even worse... at least, in her opinion. there was a farmer on there who was actually partially telling the truth because barton had found himself taking shelter in the hayloft of that man's barn, but he clearly had a few screws loose by the way he stretched the scenario on the other half of things. and his southern accent just made things a bit more funny. 'so, this one afternoon en october about two years ago, aah went to go check own the chickens en mah barn. which is just something i do every day as a part of mah routine, you know? but... '
but this guy proceeded to say that he found this weird blonde man in his hayloft that looked like he'd just come out of the movie 'carrie' with how much blood he had on him. and that he was convinced barton was a cultist because he kept on murmuring something in tongues, when matilda was pretty sure he was probably just speaking in french. another one of the 'character witnesses' was someone who fit in the category of wanting their fifteen minutes of fame however. it was a professor that barton had once, after all, but she'd gotten all of the details about barton's appearance wrong and so the reporter had to correct her about it while trying not to laugh. this professor then said she'd seen him following her for a long distance once before saying he must've been doing it because she was a 'christian woman,' and she'd seen him reading a 'devil's book.'
but of course, in reality, this book was literally just the mysterious stranger by mark twain. matilda could hardly contain herself at that, as well as that jervis was a puppet. thus, she felt it was necessary to take a drink of water to stop herself from waking barton up. matilda was nearly tearing up by how badly she wanted to laugh but couldn't, ❝ ooh, my god. that is never going to get old... if i could, i would put that professor's quote and that quote about you being a puppet framed on the wall. ❞ she snorted through her nostrils then and ran her hands down her face to try to regain her composure. the whole thing was just so ridiculous, it was like they were in an episode of the twilight zone, or something. matilda let out a 'phew' sound once she was finally able to gather her bearings once more.
she nodded, ❝ pretty much, yeah. anyways, i hope you ejoyed that as much as i did, because we probably could all use a little more humor around here. ❞ matilda's eyes flitted from the other to her phone screen as a barely audible chime wrang from it. she went to check her notifications then and squinted at what she saw, before looking back up at her father. all it was was a news alert that the police were offering a cash reward for any information people may be able to give them on either barton's or jervis's location. which, in theory, could be bad. though no one else knew they were here to her knowledge.
matilda's heart nearly jumped out of her chest then when she saw that barton was starting to vomit while laying on his back. there was serious danger in that, so she ran over to the bed to flip him on his side and that way, barton wouldn't aspirate. it was all stomach acid but if he breathed that in it would still be very bad. ❝ jesus christ — i'm sorry, matilda. that was so gross and i got some on you, ❞ yeah, he did, matilda thought as she looked down at the now ruined undershirt to her tux. she could hardly be mad at barton though when he sounded like he was about to cry in that barely audible voice of his. wait, he was about to cry?
god's, barton was burning up. and he had a history of getting slightly to moderately delirious depending on how bad it was. matilda was able to tell this by laying the back of her hand across his forehead. barton maneuvered himself into sitting on the bed and matilda threw off whatever covers were on himself while she struggled to figure out what to do. ❝ yeah, you just stay there while i go get a thermometer. ❞ she looked over to jervis in the corner then and mouthed the words 'he is as hot as an oven. i am calling someone.' with that, she went into the kitchen-like area, leaving jervis alone with barton. the doctor cleared his throat then and closed his eyes after briefly looking at where jervis was. ❝ ugh... well, it appears as if you two are buddies now. did you tell my daughter you have synesthesia yet? ❞
This struck a nerve, all right.
Jervis kept his eyes on Matilda as she flitted from one spot to the next, trying to read her, to gauge what was really going on beneath that cool, collected exterior. She was like some storm he could never predict—one moment, raging and untouchable, the next, calm and almost… kind. Her moods shifted like the tides, and it made her hard to trust, hard to pin down. That bothered him. It gnawed at the edges of his mind, poking at old wounds, stirring up old fears.
He supposed it made sense, though, that she’d be like this. After all, Barton had the same unpredictable streak, that same capacity for both violence and unexpected kindness. Maybe it was something in their blood, some shared trait that made them swing between extremes. Jervis wasn’t sure if it was comforting to think of them as merely human, prone to the same fluctuations and inconsistencies as anyone else, or if it just made them all the more dangerous.
Still, he couldn’t shake the unease that lingered in the back of his mind. He’d spent too long surviving on suspicion and caution to let his guard down so easily. He eyed the water bottle again, then glanced at Matilda as she busied herself with tending to Barton’s wounds. She moved with a kind of precision that suggested she knew exactly what she was doing, every action deliberate and controlled, even if her emotions weren’t always so steady.
Jervis found himself wondering what she made of him. Did she see through his caution, his wariness? Did she know how he hesitated to trust the water she’d given him? It wouldn’t surprise him if she did. Matilda seemed the type to understand the darker parts of human nature—after all, she lived in those shadows herself, and the butterfly sword on her person indicated she herself was no stranger to violence. He could respect that, in a way. It was twisted, sure, but there was a certain integrity in it. It was a far cry from the deceptive kindnesses of others he’d encountered, those who smiled while slipping a knife between your ribs. Matilda’s honesty, brutal though it might be, was something Jervis could understand, even if he couldn’t bring himself to fully trust it.
As she sighed and turned Barton’s hand over, Jervis caught a glimpse of the raw, peeling skin where the chain had bitten into flesh; goose pimples prickled across his own skin as the ghost of her fingers trailed along the lines of his palm. It was a stark reminder of the violence that had brought them here, and Matilda’s calm, almost clinical demeanor as she tended to Barton made Jervis feel a strange sense of disconnect. Here was someone who could compartmentalize, who could push aside the emotional fallout of their actions and focus on the task at hand. But then she broke the silence, her tone shifting to something lighter as she pulled out her phone. Jervis watched as she crossed the room to sit near him, just close enough to share the screen without encroaching on his space. It was a small gesture, but it made a difference. It made him feel like she was trying to include him in something, like she was offering a bridge between them, however tentative.
When she handed him the phone, Jervis hesitated for a moment before taking it, the warmth of her hand lingering on the device. Her words were casual, almost teasing, as she explained her original intent to show the video to Barton. There was no bitterness in her voice, no resentment. Just… acceptance. It was a simple statement of fact, and somehow, that was what really got under his skin, what he truly didn’t get.
How could she be so accepting of this, of everything? The violence, the madness, the constant danger. How could she still find a way to laugh at the absurdity of it all when it felt like the world was always on the verge of caving in? He glanced down at the video, just in time to catch the mugshots: him and Barton, plastered up on the screen like some low-rent Bonnie and Clyde. That’s when he almost lost it—because they really had chosen the worst photos possible. Barton looked like he just rolled out of bed, barely surviving some week-long bender, and Jervis himself appeared to be auditioning for the part of “Most Disgruntled Librarian” with a black eye to boot.
God help him, he couldn’t help it; he snorted. It’s ridiculous. The whole thing is ridiculous. Here they were, labeled as ‘dangerous’—and he supposed they were—but the picture they’ve painted? It’s so far removed from the truth it’s almost comedic. All the same, Jervis lets out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding, trying to push down the mix of shame and anger bubbling up inside. This was how they saw him—how the world saw him. Just another broken piece of the puzzle, just another madman to be feared and avoided. But Matilda? She coughed to cover her laugh, and in that moment, he almost envied her. Though there was something almost… playful about it, too. He glanced at her, catching the small, amused smile playing at the corners of her lips.
"Christ, they always manage to make us look like a couple of lunatics, don't they?" Jervis muttered, his voice laced with a mix of exasperation and sardonic amusement. "Not that they’re far off, but still…” His words hung in the air, more for his own benefit than Matilda’s, as if he needed to hear them aloud to process the irrationality of their situation. Half an attempt to engage and half a way to vent, though they barely registered with him as they left his lips. And as the video continued, Matilda fortunately kept her word, fast-forwarding through the monotonous parts — skipping the drivel that passed for analysis — and pausing only when something particularly ludicrous surfaced. The screen flickered with the faces of so-called 'witnesses,' each one more eager than the last to spout their fabricated nonsense. Jervis’ patience was already worn dangerously thin, and yet, there was something almost cathartic about it—watching these idiots make fools of themselves while pretending to know anything about their lives.
The first glimpse of the self-appointed 'character witnesses' was some pimple-ridden bloke who looked like he hadn’t left his mother’s basement in years claiming Jervis once glared at him at a bookshop, and some woman with more makeup than sense insisting she could "just tell" by his eyes that he was pure evil. What utter gobshite, he thought, the senselessness almost too much to process, and yet, not worth the effort to truly be outraged about. He had bigger things to worry about than the rantings of people who were clearly in it for their own fifteen minutes of fame. Their words slipped through his mind like water through a sieve—one ear, out the other, leaving only the residue of irritation behind.
Beside him, Matilda’s smirk grew to “cat that caught the canary” proportions as she paused on a particularly ludicrous claim—that he was actually a puppet for a secret society… it was infectious, and for a moment, Jervis found himself smirking too, even with the gnawing frustration that simmered just beneath the surface. "Really?" he muttered, half to himself. "What a sorry lot… They’ll believe anything these days." But the words were more of a reflex, a way to acknowledge how asinine it all was without really engaging. It felt almost like a bad joke—one he was too weary to laugh at but not quite angry enough to fully reject. Besides, these people had no idea who he really was, no understanding of the things that had shaped him, the struggles he had endured. They were content to paint him as a villain because it was easier than seeing him as a person. It was easier to believe that monsters were born, not made. It made them feel safer, more in control of a world that was anything but. It was infuriating, but what could he do? This was how the world worked. Truth didn’t matter—perception did.
Jervis handed the phone back to Matilda, his expression a mixture of bitterness and wry resignation. “They’re all the same, aren’t they?”Nonplussed, he reached into his pocket, removed his lighter and the bag of weed. Smoke curled from the joint as he took a practiced breath. For a brief moment, the tension that had gripped him since they arrived at the warehouse began to loosen its hold. He found himself easing back against the wall, his shoulders relaxing as the ridiculousness of it all took center stage. It was hard not to get caught up in the shared absurdity, to momentarily set aside his anger and exhaustion. It was a small moment, a fleeting one, but even as he thought it, that little voice in the back of his mind whispered a warning. Don’t get too comfortable. Don’t forget who she is. Who you are.
Jervis glanced at the girl, wondering what it would take to really crack that shell of hers. To see what was underneath the calm, underneath the dark humor and the sharp edges. Was there anything more, or was this all there was? Was Matilda just another mirror, reflecting whatever the world threw at her, never letting it leave a mark? He wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answer. He knew better than to voice those thoughts aloud.
And so, while he allowed himself to enjoy this moment, he kept his guard up, wary of the storm that he knew would eventually follow the calm. Because if there was one thing Jervis Tetch knew for certain, it was that nothing good ever lasted. Not for him. And certainly not in a world as twisted as this one. Maybe, just maybe, that was something he could learn from her. From everything that had transpired since the moment he and Barton were apprehended.
Provided, of course, he didn’t let her or her father kill him first.

I can guarantee you that this man can barely get past the 3rd day mark if we're being lucky, he's literally infatuated with you, having to have atleast something related to his beloved around him at all times. It's honestly crazy. Especially since this time you kicked him out of the bed as a punishment for failing last year's try. Only promoting him to lose control quicker.
He can barely even watch you prance around the house without the thought of bending you over and making you pay for kicking him out of the bed. Two ends colliding between each other as he tried to keep calm, but how could he when he had his soulmate In front of him, Gummy walls keeping him locked inside, pumping his thick essence in and out of your poor hole stretching you out to the max as it had been days since he's last done this.
ɴᴀɴᴀᴍɪ
I feel like he'd be the best out of all of them, just because he was trained to be more patient and resistant when it came to his urges, from him opposite from his counterpart Gojo, he's got way more self restraint, taking a whole 2 weeks at maximum for him to start asking more frantically.
ɢᴇᴛᴏ
I can tell you that he's better than his best friend but he's still not on par with Nanami despite how he seems. If anything I feel like he'd have a maximum of a week at best, just because he's more accustomed to having spent long times away from you. I feel like it would be an accident that you two had sex, completely forgetting about the challenge till after the pair of you were practically dozing off.
ᴛᴏᴊɪ
That bastard can barley wait for shit, he's got a maximum of 4 days if we're feeling nice, due to his workforce he spends most of his time at home, sleeping, eating or having sex. And after he's don't the first two options he always comes to you, it's really hard to ignore him as he gets so close and physical, hands around your waist, rubbing your abdomen or hands rising your shirt up.
ꜱᴜᴋᴜɴᴀ
That guy never takes orders from anyone but himself, so why would he even bother to start the challenge, he knows he won't be able to finish it. But still wants to give it a go after you dared to say that other people were going to compete, wanting to be the best at everything he started off weak but got stronger through the days, maybe because he was accustomed to it but either way he ultimately failed on the 7th day, the temptation from you was too much, though you would admit that it was slightly rigged as you were the one to get physical with him,
ᴄʜᴏꜱᴏ
I feel like he'd be the type to accidentally not do it, just because he's so desperate for you that he resorts to jerking off to nudes of you, not actually realising that he can't cum for the whole month and that it didn't just need to be inside of you.

[4.9k] things start to feel real as luke’s rookie season in the nhl officially begins. but maybe it’s not as bad as he thought. and maybe those good vibes will follow him off the ice too. (smut)
series masterlist
.
“You look like shit.”
“I feel like shit.”
Your smile widened as you pulled the door open further, letting the boy shuffle inside with a small wince at the bright sun shining through your windows. The hood of his jumper was thrown over his head, his curls a mess and his eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses he stole from Jack’s room after he woke up.
It wasn’t the best state for you to see him but, truthfully, that was not his biggest concern at the moment.
A few months away from college and he almost forgot what a bad influence his friends could be when it came to drinking. There was a vague memory somewhere around the fifth round of shots where Luke was pretty sure Nico tried to get them to drink some water, but it was pointless when Ethan found another bottle of tequila and insisted they had to drink it before it went to waste.
And, to Luke’s drunken mind, that sounded like the most logical solution.
He was honestly surprised the three of them had managed to wake up early enough to catch the plane back to Michigan. They had woken him up to say goodbye, muttering something about afternoon practice and other things that Luke vaguely remembered before he fell back asleep for a few hours.
Luke was pretty sure he was still drunk when he woke up a second time to the sound of Jack blasting music in the kitchen.
Somewhere between his annoying brother and the lingering anxiety that followed with the hangover as result of the night before, Luke found himself at a local bakery to grab some goods before he stopped over at your place, not even thinking to message you beforehand (if he even knew where his phone was).
“But you don’t smell shit so that’s a plus,” you noted as you shut the door behind him before taking pity on his state, dragging the curtains shut again whilst Luke muttered his thanks under his breath.
“I think I bought half the bakery,” Luke admitted with a sheepish expression as he extended the bag towards you. “I asked for every cherry based thing they owned, which surprisingly isn’t much.” He paused for a moment. “Maybe I should have tried another bakery.”
You laughed, brows raised in question. “I’m surprised you can stomach anything right now.”
“Oh, I can’t,” Luke said, his nose scrunching up in disgust like the idea made him feel nauseous. It did, if he was being honest. It was bad enough he almost threw up after Jack made him chug some water. “These were…well, they were the start of an apology.”
You tilted your head to the side.
“For…abandoning you in my room after everything,” he continued, his cheeks heating up. Because apparently no matter how much he drank the night before, he remembered well enough that he was a bit of a dick with how he ran off with his friends. “It was a shitty move. And it was shitty for me to make you hide under the bed.”
“That did throw me off,” you admitted, though there was a slight teasing tilt to your voice. “Although, your bed was surprisingly clean under there. No plates growing mould or other questionable diseases.”
Luke scoffed a little. “I’m not a slob.”
You shot him a look.
“I’m not that much of a slob,” Luke corrected, grumbling under his breath before he let out a sigh. “You know, you are making this apology a lot harder than I imagined it being.”
“Probably doesn’t help that you’re hungover as fuck,” you teased, but you took the baked good from him. You peaked inside, noting just how much he had actually bought and something warm twisted in your stomach. “You really didn’t have to. It wasn’t that big of a deal, Luke.”
“But it was to me,” he murmured, a crease forming between his eyebrows. “I…I shouldn’t have done that. Like, don’t get me wrong, I love my friends. And I know they wouldn’t judge me but…”
“Hey,” you stepped forward, reaching out to gently touch him. “It’s fine, I promise. This was a part you hid from them for so long and it freaked you out. I get it.”
“I’m not embarrassed by you,” he blurted out, because apparently he has no filter or control over the words leaving his mouth. “Just in case you thought that. Because I’m not. The boys would probably love you but like—”
“You just don’t want them asking questions,” you finished for him, watching as the boy shyly nodded his head. “You don’t have to explain yourself but thank you, anyways. And thank you for the pastries.”
“Right,” he cleared his throat, nodding a little. “Well, I–”
“Go lay down,” you said, a smile growing on your face when his shoulders slumped in relief. “I wasn’t lying when I said you looked like shit. The fact you are even awake before noon is shocking, to be honest.”
“Thank you,” he sighed in relief as he made his way towards your couch, his feet shuffling against the floor. “If I had to go back and listen to Jack blast his obnoxious playlists, I would have died.”
You snorted. “Aw, baby is facing his first, proper hangover outside of cheap college vodka.”
He pulled his sunglasses off to glare at you. “Ha. Ha. Ha.”
“Lie down,” you prompted as you gently pushed him a step forward. “We can nap on the couch. I’ll even show you the trick to hangovers.”
He raised his brows. “It’s not gonna be some weird shit like drinking raw egg yolks, is it?”
“I was going to offer head scratches but if you want raw eggs—”
“No!”
You grinned. “That’s what I thought.”
The thing about playing with the team during playoffs was that, as amazing as it was, they did get knocked out and the whole thing felt fairly short-lived.
Don’t get him wrong, it was still a surreal experience. Hockey had been a constant in his life, something that always felt familiar and welcoming no matter where he was. It had felt as recognisable and comforting to him as his family was.
But to know he had made it? To know he was skating and playing and wearing the jersey of an NHL team?
It brought a new thrill to hockey he had never expected, but basked in, nonetheless. It added an extra layer, an extra kick that college hockey could never compete with. It made him feel like everything was worth it, that everything worked out and his dreams aligned with the stars and—fuck, he was making his debut in the National Hockey League.
But as fast as it came, it went.
And then summer happened.
And he was distracted by long nights in Michigan summer heat and cool beers and boat rides that made him feel like nothing else existed beyond the lakehouse. It felt like he was just a normal guy, spending the summer break with his brothers and his friends and pretending like life was always this easy.
It was his last thread to normalcy before his life fully changed.
And then he was moving to Jersey, his belongings packed into boxes and cases as he moved in with Jack for the first time since his brother was drafted. He spent days being paraded around his new city, trying to feel familiar in the unfamiliar apartment, trying to bond with a team that had been together long before his arrival.
It was confusing and exciting and baffling and scary. Every emotion a person could experience, Luke had felt tenfold since he had started preseason training. He felt like he was stumbling through a life that wasn’t his, trying to catch up and get a hold of himself.
Then, in a blink of an eye, he was about to step out for his first official game of his rookie year in the NHL.
And, for some stupid reason, he was far more nervous than he had been for the playoff games.
There wasn’t a pressure on him during the playoffs, not really. People were letting mistakes slide, willing to look over things because it was his first time stepping foot onto the ice for an NHL team. He knew he technically had that luxury now too, that he was a rookie and he was allowed to use this year to find his footing.
But it was hard to remember he was a rookie when everyone and everything kept reminding him he was the third Hughes brother. He wasn’t just a normal rookie or young kid starting out their career in the big leagues. He was the third brother to try and live up to an insane standard his brothers have set, he had to prove he wasn’t a bust who only got here because of his name.
Luke felt more than ever that he had to prove he belonged, that he deserved to have his spot and his place in the team. That he was more than just his surname and the connotations it brought.
He had to prove—
cherry🍒: break a leg or whatever they say in hockey
cherry🍒: actually wait
cherry🍒: don’t break a leg, that would be pretty shit for you
cherry🍒: feel like it would be pretty useful to skate with two unbroken legs
cherry🍒: what i am trying to say is good luck!
And, in a silly way, he knew it was stupid. He shouldn’t need to hear someone else say something, to try and reassure him. Jack had tried a few times to prompt the conversation as game day approached. A few of the other guys had tried too. Hell, even Quinn had called him to try and give him a pep talk.
But, in the nicest way he could put it, it felt meaningless when it came from people he felt like needed to say it.
They needed to believe in him.
You didn’t.
Fuck, you didn’t even know a single thing about the sport. You didn’t understand the significance of his last name in the sport. You didn’t understand just how intense the next year of his life was about to be. You didn’t understand a single thing that the other people in his life had been trying to reassure him over.
And, for some reason that was beyond Luke’s own understanding, that was what he needed.
He needed that unwavering, unbreakable faith from someone who didn’t have to support him. You weren’t his family. You weren’t his teammate. You weren’t a fan. You had no reason to lie to him, to sugarcoat your words and fluff away his worries. You had no reason to believe in him other than the fact you just did.
And it was what he needed.
It was what he needed minutes before the game was due to start, the clock ticking to puck drop and his eyes lingering on your messages before he had to get up and head out to the ice.
He needed you.
They won the first game of the season.
And then, because the person in the league who was organising the game schedule decided they wanted to try and test them this early on, they played their second game the next night.
And they won that one too.
It was surreal, to be fucking frank. It was a kind of buzz that Luke had never experienced before, not in hockey at least.
Winning was always great, regardless of what age or what league you were playing in. Truthfully, he didn’t think anything would beat the thrill college hockey gave him. His attachment to the boys on his team, the adrenaline of the win pumping through him as he basked in the cheering crowd.
He thought that was his peak. He thought that was the best it would ever get.
And then he joined the NHL.
There was something about wearing the jersey, about knowing that they had thousands of fans watching the game. There was something about skating straight towards his big brother and feeling Jack scream in his ear as they were crowded by the other boys. There was something about knowing this had been his dream since he was a kid, to know he was now living it out.
It was the perfect way to kick off their season—to kick off his rookie season—and Luke genuinely didn’t think he could sit down for longer than two seconds if someone asked him to. His body was bone-tired, he needed decent rest because professional hockey was no joke and his body was still not used to the jump from college hockey.
But he was buzzing. He was practically vibrating with how excited he was. He felt like he could do anything at that moment.
The locker room was buzzing with talks about how to celebrate. Most of them were tired—happy but fucking tired. The younger group wanted to head out to a bar, the older ones wanted to try to be responsible for the sake of practice in the morning. Nico was somewhere in the middle, trying to be diplomatic and find a solution that worked for everyone.
But honestly, Luke didn’t want to stand in a bar where he would either have to sneak drinks or stay sober. And he didn’t particularly want to get drunk in the first place. And he didn’t want to just head home with Jack when his body felt like it could start bouncing off the walls.
He had this ever present, insistent buzz itching beneath his skin and he had a million and one ideas on how to scratch it.
Truthfully, everything was a blur. He didn’t remember the post-game interviews or whatever chirps were being thrown his way in the locker room. He didn’t remember what fuck-ass excuse he gave Jack as he clambered into the backseat of an Uber. He didn’t even remember ordering the Uber in the first place.
He just knew it led him to your doorstep, knocking on your door somewhere past eleven when he hadn’t even stopped to think if you’d be awake or not. He just knew he wanted to see you.
It was almost a shock when the door swung open a couple of seconds after he knocked.
“Shouldn’t you be out celebrating with your team, winner?” You teased, leaning against the door as you spoke. Though, you didn’t look all that bothered with Luke showing up this late to your place unannounced.
But his brain was still moving a million miles an hour and he knew—somewhere amongst the chaos of his thoughts—that he should have said hello, or apologised for randomly showing up, or for banging on your door when you could have been asleep.
But the only thing he managed to blurt out was, “I want to make you come.”
You blinked. And again. And then one more time.
And he thought his racing heart was going to explode in his chest before you pulled the door open wider, an invitation for him to step inside as you muttered something about your nosy neighbours overhearing the whole conversation and eavesdropping.
Luke stood aimlessly in your entrance hallway, watching as you spun to quickly close the door behind him before turning on your heel to face him. You leaned back against the door, making his chest tighten in some kind of way at the way you smiled at him.
“Feeling confident after your big win, huh?” You grinned, pulling the sleeves of your hoodie over your hands, and he couldn’t help but find the act oddly endearing. “Does this mean you’re, like, first place or something?”
Luke didn’t bother fighting the smile growing on his face. “Yeah, we basically won the whole thing. Everyone has just forfeited from the championship.”
“You know, you joke but if it wasn’t for the fact I can see you trying not to laugh at me, I would have believed you,” you said to him before pushing off the door, taking a few steps closer to him. “You never answered my question though. Did the win make you feel more confident?”
“Maybe,” he swallowed, his fingers itching to just reach out for you the second you were at arm’s length from him. “It’s just…you always do stuff for me. I wanna do stuff for you too. But like, it’s okay if you don’t want—”
“Don’t do that,” you interrupted.
He frowned a little.
“Don’t second guess your own confidence,” you corrected yourself as you stopped just a step or two away from him. “Be sure of yourself. It’s hot.”
“Mhm,” Luke nodded, though it didn’t sound all that self-assured.
“Remember, just like hockey. You practice and then you play. We’ve been doing the exact same.” And weirdly enough, your words were comforting. “Have some faith in yourself, Luke.”
“Right. Just like hockey,” he murmured, glancing at the small distance between the two of you.
“Just like hockey,” you repeated with a small nod.
And, just like hockey, Luke let himself act before he over thought his actions too much. Hockey was about acting fast and thinking later. It was about acting on your instincts and trusting your teammate would be on the other side of the puck. It was about letting every move, every hit, every shot to be nothing but one hundred percent. It was about taking the chance before it was gone.
Luke took a step forward, closing the distance between you two as his hands reached to cup your face before he kissed you. You let out a noise of surprise that sounded from the back of your throat before you sunk into it, letting your hands rest against his stomach as he took control.
It was intoxicating, in a way you had never experienced with Luke before. Most of the time, he was happy to let you take control. He got this cute but hopeless look on his face when he didn’t know where to put his hands. He was happy to just sit back and let you tell him exactly just how you wanted to be touched, kissed, held.
But this was different. It was overwhelming. It was suffocating in the best way possible. Feeling his body tower over you, feeling his large palms holding you just where he wanted you as his tongue slid into your mouth. Feeling the way Luke acted when he didn’t think, when he didn’t get in his own head, when he just let his body act the way it wanted to.
You barely had a chance to catch your breath before his hands dropped from your face, fingers wrapping around your thighs with a stuttered ‘jump’ whispered against your lips before he lifted you with the ease only a professional athlete could achieve.
He barely pulled away as he walked deeper into your apartment, the layout practically memorised in his head considering the fact he spent just as much time here as he did in his own apartment. His arms were locked on you, not letting you slip a bit as he wandered into your bedroom, laying you down on the bed with a gentleness that made your stomach dip.
“Show off,” you murmured as you glanced up at him, lip tucked between your teeth as your fingers brushed against the hem of his shirt.
He lazily grinned down at you. “I can be impressive sometimes.”
“Yeah?” Your lips twitched upwards as you shuffled back until you were sat further up the bed. You reached for the hem of your hoodie, pulling it over your head and tossing the clothing off to the side. “Come show me how impressive you can be, Hughes.”
He swallowed, eyes darting over your figure before he slowly began making his way onto the bed. “You’re sure?”
“You were the one who came knocking on my door, saying you wanted to make me come,” you teased.
“Yeah but,” Luke paused for a second as his gaze caught yours. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to do it because I want to.” He flashed you an awkward but sweet smile. “Consent is sexy, you know?”
You snorted, but you grinned back at him. “You have my consent to make me come, Luke.”
“Uh,” he cleared his throat. “I just…I want you to enjoy it but I don’t…”
“Breathe,” you murmured in a softer voice, reaching up to gently squeeze his cheeks to catch his attention. “I’m still here, you’re not doing this alone. Just like hockey, remember? Think of me as your teammate.”
His face instantly scrunched up. “I really don’t want to be thinking about any of my teammates right now.”
You snorted, despite yourself.
“Yeah, okay, maybe not my finest choice of words. What I’m trying to say is that you’re not doing this alone. Sex is a ‘two way street’, ‘it takes two to tango’ kinda thing, Luke,” you spoke as you reached down to guide his hands to the waistband of your leggings. “We’re doing this together.”
“Together,” he murmured with a nod.
“Just like hockey,” you said to him again, seeing a hint of his earlier confidence shine in his eyes as his fingers hooked the waistband of your leggings before pulling them down your legs.
He tugged them over your feet before throwing them off to the side, where your hoodie still laid. He didn’t even hesitate before he ripped his own shirt off over his head, in some weird mixed statement so you weren’t the only one who was half-naked—and because he felt his whole body running far warmer than he thought was normal.
“Foreplay is important. It’s like warm-ups, it’s necessary and preferred and makes the game easier, as well as more enjoyable,” you said, your voice a little lower than before as you gently guided one of his hands from your waist downwards. “It makes her feel good. It makes you feel good. It’s sexy.”
“Sexy,” he noted with a nod, though his eyes were transfixed on you.
Luke gulped a little as his fingers rested along the elastic waistband of your panties. His heart was racing in his chest and blood was roaring in his ears and it was a little hard to focus on the words you were saying when his dick was twitching in his sweatpants.
“Just gotta know where to touch her,” you whispered, lip tucked between your teeth as your fingers lightly skimmed over your clothed cunt. You choked out a gasp as you pressed a slow, deliberate circle over your clit.
He didn’t think even a meteor crashing into your bedroom could make him tear his eyes away from you right now.
“Try.”
Luke’s brows raised a little as you stared at him expectantly.
“C’mon, winner,” your lips twitched upwards. “Just like hockey.”
Just like hockey.
Luke slowly ran his hand over your waist, feeling the cotton fabric of your panties under his touch. He kept his eyes locked on your cunt, trying to ignore the way his hand was shaking as he ran his fingers along the fabric.
A soft sigh left your lips and his eyes snapped up to look at your face, to watch your expressions closely to see what you reacted to. His thumb pressed down experimentally and your nose twitched a little.
“A little higher.”
He listened.
“Firm but gentle.”
He listened.
“Fuck, just like that, Luke.”
He listened.
“A little faster.”
Luke listened.
He listened as you guided him. He listened until there was a small wet spot on the front of your panties. He listened until you were panting and telling him to pull them down your legs. He listened as he gently glided his fingers between your folds, watching with dark eyes as his fingers glinted with your release.
“I get it,” he muttered out at some point, his thumb pressing down on your swollen clit as your hips bucked up against his touch. “The noises. Why you like them.” He gulped a little as his eyes glanced up at you. “You sound pretty when you’re moaning, Cherry.”
“Shit,” your eyes fluttered shut as you reached down to grip his wrist. “Just…fuck, I need to feel you inside me.”
His cheeks burned hot.
“Just,” you panted, chewing down on your bottom lip until it was red and a little swollen. “Slow, okay?”
He gulped. “You sure?”
You huffed out a laugh. “You wanna make me come?”
He nodded.
“Then yeah, I’m sure,” you murmured, brows furrowed together as you felt him glide his fingers through your folds until they were completely covered.
And, if Luke was being so completely honest, he could have come in his pants from the sight alone. It was like at the last possible moment, his brain remembered to look up as he slowly slide one finger inside you and, fuck, he was glad he did.
He felt entranced. He felt mesmerised. He felt like he was stuck in some sort of hypnosis and he couldn’t look away.
He wanted to burn this moment in his memory so he could never, never forget it. He wanted to memorise the way your eyes fluttered shut. He wanted to memorise the way you felt squeezing around him, like you didn’t want him to ever leave. He wanted to memorise the way your lips parted with a silent scream as he slid another finger inside you, as he curled his fingers, as you bucked your hips.
He wanted to remember every single fucking moment until the day he died.
“A little faster,” you breathed out, your head thrown back on your pillow as he followed your instructions. “Shit, yes. Like that. Fuck.”
“Good?” Luke murmured, his whole body feeling like it was on fire and his dick straining against his boxers but, fuck, he couldn’t care less when his attention was on you.
“Good,” you confirmed with a nod as one hand gripped the sheets, the other reaching down to give your clit some attention. “So good, Luke.”
Something in his stomach flipped at your words.
If someone asked Luke Hughes how the last forty-eight hours of his life had been, he would tell them it had been fucking amazing.
And if they asked him what the best moment was, he should probably answer that he has too many to choose from. That maybe it was the fact he officially started his rookie year in the National Hockey League. That maybe it was the fact he won not one, but two NHL games. That maybe it was the fact they won them one after the other. That maybe it was the fact he did all of the above whilst sharing the ice with his big brother.
But, in all fucking honesty, Luke would have chosen this moment.
He would have chosen the sight of you writhing and squirming beneath him. He would have chosen the sight of you panting and moaning and begging. He would have chosen the sight of you coming on his fingers, your back arching off the bed and his name a whimper on your lips. He would have chosen the sleepy smile you gave him as your body twitched as he pulled his fingers out, already missing the feeling of you clenched around him. He would have chosen the look of pure lust and desire in your eyes as you watched him slide his fingers in his mouth, his body moving before his brain caught up as he sucked the taste of you off his fingers.
He would have chosen this moment. And maybe that realisation would be a lot more alarming and head-spinning in a couple of hours, but right now it was a passing thought before he slumped down on the bed next to you.
“Luke?”
“Hm?”
“You’re a good student,” you murmured, feeling a smile on your lips as he let out a small huff of laughter. “A little more practice and I think you could have a good business going for you if the hockey thing doesn’t work out.”
He shook his head. “I think my skating skills are still better than my sex skills, but the confidence you have in me is appreciated.”
“Hm, true,” you said as you nudged his arm, lifting it up before you curled into his side. Luke didn’t say anything but wrap his arm around you to pull you closer. “You do skate very fast.”
“Those two videos really told you everything you needed to know, huh?” He teased, his words light-hearted and joking and warm.
“No, the games you just played told me that,” you corrected.
Luke froze, his mind replaying the words in his head like he wasn’t sure he heard you right the first time. “You watched my games?”
“Yeah,” you answered like it was obvious. “You said they were the start of the important ones, the ones that counted. I mean, I didn’t understand half of it and I spent a significant amount confused but,” you paused to shrug. “I wanted to support you.”
His chest tightened and it was a little harder to breathe, but he didn’t really want to let you go just yet.
“You didn’t have to,” he eventually choked out.
“I wanted to,” you answered before continuing. “Who knows, maybe I’m your good luck charm.”
He knew you were joking. He could hear as much in your voice. But it still made his heart clench a little at the thought.
“Guess you gotta watch every game then.”
“Guess you gotta teach me the game so I understand it then.”
His arm tightened around you, his face burned red and his heart skipped a beat or two. But he still managed to mutter out, “Deal, Cherry.”

Look Of Love~ S. Reid x Fem! Reader
Summary: All the moments you had to tell him exactly how you feel, and yet it comes down to this one, where the words ‘I love you’ might save his life.
Warnings: Violence, angst, Reid being a kicked puppy, blood, tw! Tobias Hankel!
Season 2 Reid x Fem! Agent! Reader
Tumblr media
Everything was going fine, wasn’t it? Well, about as fine as you can consider a case about a serial killer who believes he’s doing the work of God, to go.
But he was fine.
And that was what made things fine.
Well, until the whole thing crumbled and there was a sharp pain in your lungs that isn’t about to cease. JJ and Spencer left to find the location of Tobias Hankel’s home, that was about an hour ago. You had watched as he holstered his gun, preparing to get into the car and leave you.
“You’re still not coming with me.” He says towards your silent pining.
“Spence.” You argue, though he just turns to look at you amused.
“We’re just going to talk to this guy, he’s just a witness. They need you here.” He reasons, reassuring you with a smile.
His words always seemed to calm you down, it’s like magic, the Reid effect. So you nodded and rolled your eyes as he tucked your hair behind your ears, a quirk he’s always done because he knows how much you hate your pointy ears.
There was no argument, you and Spencer were the closest ones out of the rest. It’s a kind of peaceful friendship, the two of you just played in harmony so well. He knew all of your secrets, you knew almost all of his, and you weren’t shy to tug on his arm or secretly join your hand in his under the table during meetings. Spencer was more than okay with it, learning that’s just how you act with people you are comfortable with.
And while the two of you were convinced it wasn’t a relationship the team would bat an eye at, your friends often had secret discussions in regard to you.
“This whole ‘friendship’ scheme…do they really buy it?” Emily asked one morning as she watched you take a drink of coffee and cringe at the too sweet taste, then give it to Reid and take the one he had been drinking.
Reid isn’t a fan of germs.
But in his mind, yours aren’t so bad.
“Oh no, they’re still convinced they’re just close friends.” Morgan chuckled, answering the woman’s question.
“She loves him.” JJ added in a matter of fact tone. “It’s honestly a little sad…she doesn’t want to admit it out loud.”
“Why?” Emily’s brows furrow.
“Afraid she’ll ruin the friendship.” Morgan simply says.
At that, the female agent scoffs. “Reid’s obviously in love with her, no friend looks at another friend that way.”
They watch intently at the eye contact being shared, and how expressions change when Reid walks away from you.
“They look like kicked puppies.” JJ frowns. “Morgan, go talk to him, I can’t stand this anymore.”
The man looks at her in confusion. “And say what? I can’t just tell a man how he feels.”
Emily argues. “Reid doesn’t know what he feels, he’s confused, put him out of his misery.”
As Morgan goes to open his mouth, Hotch appears with his signature scowl and the conversation was dropped and done with.
Though it was never forgotten.
The entire team saw the lovesickness between the two of you…and yet, you couldn’t fix it.
There were plenty of times you could have confessed, many perfect moments that were ruined by your fear of the feeling not being mutual.
And after a while, the words seemed to try and escape on their own accord. Like in the moment he goes to leave and you call to him one last time.
“Okay, I’ll see you in a bit?” He said, scanning your face intently like he always seemed to do.
“Yeah, see you soon, I lo-”
Your heart beats loudly in your ears and you seal your lips, feeling betrayed by your own words. He looks at you, puzzled, then leaves.
You should have told him.
You should have just told him.
Because now, gun drawn, searching Hankel’s house, Spencer is no where to be found.
JJ was in the barn out back, looking rather disheveled and scared when she was found, but she was safe and unharmed and Spencer was gone.
“We thought he was just a witness, I swear. Then Reid figured out he was the UnSub and...” JJ said to you over and over, feeling guilt in her bones, blaming herself for his abduction. She swore that she should’ve stayed with him, not split up like he said to. She means well…you just can’t think straight.
The team stayed inside the house overnight, working off of minimal hours of sleep, and daybreak came and you were sitting on the couch with your head in your hands, thinking of some plan on how you were going to find him.
“Hey.” Penelope greeted as you walk into the room with a multitude of computers she was searching for any clues.
“Hey.” You sigh, leaning on the desk beside her. “Anything yet?”
She shakes her head. “No, sweet pea.”
You watch the videos of war and destruction on the screens, the right kind of fuel for a split personality maniac like Hankle.
“If Tobias is living as three people, and his father is the one that’s the evil side of his brain, then I think that’s who has taken Reid. We’ve been thinking like Tobias, we need to be thinking like his dad, right?” You question, turning to Morgan as he walks into the room.
He nods. “It’s a good idea, yeah.”
Suddenly, the computer screens in front of the three of you go black.
“What happened?” Morgan asks.
“I don’t know…” Penelope answers…
She tries to get the screens back up, but to all of your surprise, the live stream that comes on is something more horrific than what you were previously watching.
“Spencer.” The name leaves you as well as all the air in your lungs.
There he was, your pretty boy, sat in a chair, bloody and bruised and out of it.
Morgan yells for the others, but you’re frozen in place.
“Track him, Pen.” You say in a panic.
“I can’t, Hankle is only streaming this to his home computer.” She says in disbelief.
“What do you mean?” You worry. “This is some kind of joke? This is just for us to see?”
She nods slowly.
The team watches closely, listening to the way Hankle forces Reid to choose an innocent couple to get murdered.
You seriously think you’re going to be sick.
He struggles on the screen, choosing someone to be spared torture instead.
And as fast as he was in front of you, he’s gone from the live feed even faster. You stare at the blank screen with red eyes, then leave the room completely.
A full day wasted, you weren’t close enough to find him. You go back to couch and prepare for another sleepless night.
~~
At some point, you must’ve fallen asleep, because you wake with a start at the feeling of something being different.
You make your way to the computer room where everyone is hunched over, looking at a map Penelope brings up.
“Good, you got some sleep.” Hotch says, barely sparing you a glance as you enter.
“What’s going on?” You ask, leaning into Morgan’s side.
“We think we found him.” He says to you, watching your eyes widen.
“What?” Your voice cracks and any lingering feeling of sleep is gone.
“We’re heading out in five.”
You didn’t need to be told twice.
Tying your hair up and rubbing your face, you pull a kevlar vest on and cinch the velcro shut. The entire car ride to the little shack, you’re twitching.
Everyone shares a look, because the way you act now is the whole reason they didn’t wake you when the live feed was back up. If you were to watch the way Reid was being beaten, Gideon isn’t sure you could handle it.
The team storms the shack, and you try hard not to lose hope when you come up empty handed yet again.
You curse to yourself. “They were here.”
“They couldn’t have gotten far, they’re on foot.” Hotch nods, immediately turning back out to search the cemetery you were in.
On high alert, you search through the dark, adrenaline coursing through your veins.
“We’re gonna find him.” Morgan promises, but you can’t focus on anything besides locating Reid.
Closer and closer, you can almost feel it in your bones, the way your instincts guid you in a direction.
The only thing that halts your step is the sound of a single gun shot.
No.
No, it wasn’t going to end like this. It couldn’t.
Quickly, you head to that noise with your partners following after you.
“Spencer!” You shout, voice raw. “Spence?”
He looks up from Tobias’ body, and it’s like the entire world stops spinning. He’s there, he’s alive, he’s breathing ragged breaths and it’s all okay.
Hotch is there to help him to his feet, guiding him to stumble forward until he gains his footing. His head is dizzy and his hearing might be a little echoey but in a single moment, you’re there.
He grips onto you like you’re his lifeline, and you wrap your arms around him, stumbling to support his weight. A hand in his dirty hair, he feels your touch and knows you have to be real. That it’s your real form here that’s fighting to hold back tears and not the visions he’d see when he was out of it.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now.” You promise, knowing he might not realize he’s shaking and mumbling.
Pulling back just a few inches, he’s leaning his forehead to yours and breathing too quickly.
“Hey, hey.” You say softly, gently cupping his face. “Look at me, Spencer, look at me, sweetheart.”
He sees the deep look in your worried eyes and tries to form a sentence, but for once, his big brain can’t figure out what to say.
You do though.
And for once, you aren’t scared to say it. Actually, you’re afraid of not saying it.
“Spence.” You breathe out, he breathes in like your air is what matters. Your hand gently smooths blood soaked hair back, trying to get him to calm down.
He says your name in reassurance to himself.
“Hey, I’m right here.” You say. “I’m right here, and I love you.”
His brain fog seems to clear, his confused brown eyes are searching your face like they always tend to do, and those three words are making a small smile pull on his cracked lips.
~~
The hospital trip is almost too brief, just enough for him to get checked out and cleaned up, then you’re back on the plane to head home.
Curled in the corner of the small couch, you are barely asleep like the others, listening to music, head leaned against the wall. That’s before gentle hands pull your headphones off your ears.
Your eyes open and turn to see Spencer, sitting down beside you.
“Hey.” You whisper.
He sets the headphones down. “Hi.”
“You feel okay?” You ask, noticing the way he pulls your knees away from your chest so you sit normally.
He nods. “I feel about as good as someone who just got beat up would.”
You smile at his humor.
He tucks the hair framing your face, behind your ears, as always. “I was in and out of consciousness when you found me, I think, so I need to make sure that you actually said it and I wasn’t just lucid dreaming.”
You reach up to grab his hands. “Said what?”
He takes a deep breath. “That…you love me?”
His eyes are hopeful and wide, that’s what makes you nod.
“You weren’t imagining it…I love you, Spence.”
A smile forms on his face. “That’s good then.” He says, sure of himself.
“Yeah? Why’s that?”
That when he flips your hold of his hands and joins one in his. “Because I love you too.”
There it was, the confession you’ve wanted for so long. There’s a moment of silence, then your free hand cups his jaw and he moves so close, your lips part just to breathe out slowly and then he’s there. Kissing you.
It’s soft, like you’ve been doing this for years.
He licks his lower lip after he pulls away, trying to savor the taste. Brushing your forehead to his for a second, you lean back and motion for him to follow. There’s no words that need to be spoken as he makes himself a bed in your lap, lying on his side that hurts the least and presses his face into your stomach.
Out like a light, the both of you.
Morgan nudges Emily a while later when they both wake, and he motions over to the lump on the couch. The woman grins.
“It took no interference at all.” She says.
Morgan smirks. “Nope, just a near death experience.”
Hotch scowls as usual. “We’re going to have to talk to HR about this.”

Familiar — S.W
— ‘It felt right, it felt familiar. Almost like you’d done this before — in another lifetime.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary struggling to open the vending machine, Sam Wesson decides to help you. When he directs you to the elevator, you can’t help but notice how everything felt so familiar.
This writing contains smut, pet names, semi-public sex, on a desk, piv, unprotected sex but fem!reader is on birth control, praise, high risk of getting caught, not a specified dynamic (Submissive & Dominant), creampie, Sam is honestly a sweetheart, consent consent consent heavily used, size difference, Sam’s described as tall and bigger than reader but no height described for reader, sweet talk, there’s an actual plot + more.
notes this was made at 1am and finished at 2am, i did proofread to my best ability as it is currently 2 in the morning still. I don’t see a lot of Sam Wesson on here… he’s a little cutie so I had to <3
p.s new theme again… anyways, 1.6k WC. Enjoy!
Sam saw you over at the vending machine, trying to get it to work. The machine practically caused issues for everyone, it was old, and it was overused. So getting jammed wasn’t a rare occurrence. Despite him being a tech guy, Sam still knew how to crack the machine. So he finally got up and went over to help you.
“I- um, I’ll help you with it… if that’s okay?” He asked, his orbs met your own. The awkward smile that graced his lips was contagious, one forming on your own as well.
“You don’t have to… Sam.” You looked down at the tag on his yellow shirt. He was a little confused about how you knew his name before he remembered the obvious tag that clung to the fabric.
“No, no- It’s okay, I can. It’s no problem.” You smiled, moving your hands away from the handle of the machine so the man could look at it.
He was sweet, you didn’t even know him, but he clearly was intelligent. Fixing the damned thing in less than two minutes, his brows furrowed in concentration. You didn’t get a good look at his face, but when you did, he was probably the most attractive guy in this entire building.
His voice interrupted your thoughts.
“It should work now,” He spoke. There was a slight pink tinge to his cheeks when your gaze met his which didn’t go unnoticed by you. Your own cheeks growing heated as well.
“Thank you- so much… You’re a lifesaver.” The smile on his lips never left, especially at your praise. It wasn’t exactly everyday Sam received that, neither a compliment. He caught himself staring before stuttering out a nervous reply. You were beautiful.
“Thank you, I appreciate that.” He didn’t want you to leave yet for some reason, so he added on, “Are you planning on working here…? Is this your first day?” He questioned, you both nearly forgot that you were in a public workspace. Not even paying attention to the quick eyes on you.
“Yeah… This is my first day, kinda obvious I think, though.” You joked, he let out a small chuckle. You were funny, he liked that.
“It’s okay, nothing’s wrong with that.” Sam reassured you, the smiles exchanged between the two of you were genuine. He’d taken an interest in you, and you’d taken one in him too.
“Do you know where the elevator is?” You realized that was probably a little stupid to ask since he’d obviously been working here, “Sorry, that was a little stupid to ask- but could you show me it, please?” You were apologizing for something so small, it was cute, he thought.
“It’s not, don’t worry. I’ll show you,”
The whole walk towards the elevator he was directing you to was probably the best first day experience you’d had in all of your years of job searching. He was kind, humorous. You’d probably laughed at every joke he made on the way there.
Maybe it was too early to say you thought he was cute, okay, too early. But how could you not? He flashed a grin at you each glance he sent your way, opening each door for you, he was a gentleman.
When you both made your way to the elevator, you already began to thank him again, “I appreciate this, a lot. This just might be the best first day experience I’ve had in years, thank you.” You weren’t thinking for a second, already getting lost in the way he was looking at you. You had just met, and he was looking at you so attentively like he’d known you for years. You didn’t think you’d ever had the urge to kiss someone so strong before, and you didn’t think you’d act on it.
His eyes widened when you pressed your lips to his, it was unexpected, very. Realizing the action you’d done without thinking, you moved to pull away to mumble apologies, but he interrupted you, this time, he initiated it.
If anyone knew Sam Wesson, they’d believe that he’d never have the balls to even reciprocate a kiss like that, especially with someone as stunning as you.
But he did.
This time you were taken off guard, but you melted into it maybe quicker than you should’ve. It felt right, it felt familiar. Almost like you’d done this before — in another lifetime.
Sam fumbled with the door handle to some empty, abandoned office. Opening it and quickly shoving the papers off the desk, placing you on top of it before reconnecting your lips. The bag you carried was discarded at the door after it clicked shut. You were both too desperate to care about getting caught, or to even think about that.
He didn’t need to look to know that you were aroused. He could practically feel the heat radiating from your body. He pulled away for a split second, his fingers trailing down to the button of your jeans, “Is this okay?” He breathed out, his gaze trained on yours. He didn’t want to take this further without knowing if you were okay with this. You nodded, but immediately followed the nod up with words.
“Yeah- yes, please.” He popped the button loose, your own hands reaching down to undo his belt. The tan dress pants he wore quickly discarded afterwards once he had tugged your jeans down. Once you were both undressed from the waist down, you pulled him in again for another kiss. This time it seemed impossibly more needy.
Why did this feel all so familiar?
Sam mumbled something against your lips that you couldn’t quite make out yet without him saying it more clearly again, “Are you…?” You were both at work for god's sake, why would either of you think about a condom? At Least you took birth control.
“Yeah- took it this morning, ‘s okay.” You confirmed, he nodded in response. His hand wrapped around his shaft as he guided himself to your entrance. He let out a groan at the feel of your arousal coating his head with just one swipe.
“You’re- god, you’re soaked…” He almost sounded surprised, this wasn’t his first time. He just didn’t think anyone could get this turned on because of him… but you find out new things everyday, right?
You let out a small whimper in response, each time he bumped against your puffy button, you could feel yourself getting even more excited. He took note of that. He looked up from where your bodies nearly connected, meeting your eyes again.
“Ready?” He asked, you didn’t get a good glimpse at his size, but seeing how the man was practically standing taller than six feet, you knew he was probably gonna be a challenge. But fuck, you wanted this. So fuck it.
“Yeah, go ahead.”
Just his tip sliding past his folds was already stretching you. Every inch that joined after had you gasping, your nails scratching at his clothed back. At least Sam remembered that you were both still in semi public.
He leaned down, brushing his lips against the skin of your neck. Placing soft kisses and bites to distract you from the intrusion in your walls. Whispering praises and coos to you, telling you how good you were doing for him, how pretty you were.
Sam wasn’t doing any better on the ‘keeping quiet’ part. You felt perfect wrapped around him like this. It was like you both fit together like a puzzle piece.
“Good- Good girl, feel so good… taking me so well too, angel.” He praised through gritted teeth, “You… You gotta be a little quiet though, baby. Still- Still could get caught.” He reminded, watching as you bit your bottom lip in an attempt to muffle your whimpers. He gave you time to adjust, he knew he was big, not in an egotistical manner, he just was aware of his size. He didn’t want to hurt you.
”You can move — Please, move.” You sounded so sweet, he couldn’t refuse that.
He trailed kisses from your neck up to your lips to swallow your moans as he rocked his hips forward. One of his hands holding your leg up, while the other steadied you by holding onto your hip. Your hand went up to run through his brown locks. His hair was soft to your palm.
“Faster.” You pleaded, Sam didn’t hesitate to oblige. Groans and sounds of his own fell from his lips, he couldn’t hold them in anymore. Neither could you.
He felt you squeeze around him and he let out a moan. The sound had your eyes rolling back, the desk creaked as his thrusts grew more uncoordinated. Mewls starting to leave you now while your nails clawed at his back through his shirt, hard enough to leave a small rip of the yellow fabric.
“God- you feel perfect, Sweetheart. Squeezing around me like that- shit…” You connected your lips to his again which Sam didn’t hesitate in returning.
You were both getting close already, and Sam knew he couldn’t possibly pull out. Not when you felt so good like this.
“Can I- Can I come inside you, baby? Is that okay with you, Angel?” The noises that filled the abandoned office were pornographic. The thought of someone catching you both in this compromising, intimate position left your minds. Even if it got you both fired, you’d both still believe it was worth it.
“Mm- please… come inside of m’ pussy, Sammy…” The nickname slipped past your lips so easily, as if you were used to it. Normally Sam wouldn’t let anyone call him that, but it felt right with you. It felt in place.
“Alright, ‘s okay, I've got you, Pretty.” He hissed, his hips beginning to stutter. Another drawn out moan came from your lips as he pulsed inside of you, triggering your own orgasm.
Your release mixed with his own, dripping down the inside of your thighs when he pulled away. Admiring his work with a dazed expression on his face. He took two of his fingers and pushed the mixture back inside of you, making sure it didn’t get everywhere.
You whimpered at the contact with your now sensitive intimacy. And he quickly pressed a kiss to your lips to comfort you.
“Did so good f’ me… such a pretty baby. So beautiful.” His praises were practically a melody to your ears, you felt as if you could never get tired of it.
It felt so right, so familiar despite the circumstances.
Everything’s Supernatural sometimes though, right?

It’s been a few days now that you’ve been brought to heaven by Raphael. He did promise you he’ll kidnap you one day, what you didn’t expect was for that ‘someday’ to happen this soon. As to how that happened? Well, the sky was clear that day, so much that he could see your silhouette from the edge of heaven. Leading to him darting down like a hawk who found its prey, and holding you between his arms before flying off again.
You didn’t even have time to yell or reach out to your companions, who were dumbfounded to the point of being frozen in place. It must have looked pretty stupid after all. Once you were brought to heaven, Raphael looked at you expectantly, as if waiting for a treat. “I’m not going to call you 'good boy', Rara, you kidnapped me.” You brushed him off, then sighed and asked, “I can’t go back down, huh?” He nodded his head. “As expected, fine, then show me around here.” This was a reaction he didn’t expect, why did you sound so done with everything—
The next few hours were spent with the little angel showing you around all excited, though he tried his hardest to not wag his tail. You followed closely, looking around this unfamiliar place. There weren’t any kind of fun things or shops in heaven, only houses for residents. It looked pretty depressing, especially because everything was rid of colors and purely white. When he asked if heaven ain’t better than hell or earth, you didn’t have the heart to answer honestly.
Soon you reached the last destination, his own place, where he would spend his nights. That’s when you found out all the seraphim’s sleep together, on the floor, with a thin cushion only. Compared to the devils, angels must have been real minimalists. To Raphael's dismay, Gabriel and Michael were also inside the building. You met Gabriel in the prayer room, where you almost got blinded by his halo. When your kidnapper saw him, he quickly tried to rush you out of the room, but Gabriel still noticed your presence.
“You brought Solomon’s descendant here? Why?” He shot you a glare, ready to put his scythe to use. You stared back all disgusted. “Don’t you dare, Gabriel. They belong to me.” He scoffed, and stood between you and the once-praying angel, to hide your form from his piercing gaze. The two of them were fighting like cats and dogs, basically not paying any attention to you anymore.
Which is why you took that opportunity to sneak away, tender steps as you backed out of the room. You aimlessly walked around their residence, exploring this new world, starting to pity their mundane lives. If you were to spend centuries in this boring place, where everything was white and monotone, you'd become a feral beast as well and probably lose your mind.
Like a miracle, you found something colorful, amid this white paradise. Carefully you stepped out of the building, into what seemed to be the garden. With a gentle swipe of your hand, you opened and closed the door, looking around to get familiar with your surroundings. There were flowers, everywhere, so many that it looked like straight out of a painting. It was simply beautiful. By the looks of it, this could be the garden of Eve that’s so infamous on earth, for this was a scenery so magnificent you didn’t anticipate it.
Heck, it looked a little out of place even, for so many colors to exist on this plain canvas that’s called heaven, as if god dropped a bucket of paint over this secret place. Slowly, you walked along the path to the huge apple tree in the middle. In front of it was a white pavilion, underneath it was a table with six chairs, but two of them had been stacked and pushed to the side.
“Beautiful…” you whispered breathlessly, eyes sparkling with admiration. There were so many kinds of flowers you’d expect the smell to be intense and intoxicating, but it wasn’t. This defied all logic, though you were kind of getting used to it by now. Only if you squeezed your eyes shut and focused solely on the smell, could you feel a sweet scent reach your nose, a scent you couldn’t quite describe. You tried to identify the smell and concentrated really hard, but to your surprise, you noticed a hint of sadness in the undertone of the scent.
Startled, you looked around, wondering if you were going crazy. Then you heard water flowing, no, to be more specific, someone watering the flowers. With even quieter steps, you approached the source of the noise and caught a glimpse of a figure with black hair. It must be Michael, you thought, and wanted to turn around and quickly leave before he tries to kill you, if not for him who mumbled, “Don’t run.” You froze in place, he didn’t even look up from the flowers, still tending to them.
You waited until he was done, nervously sweating as you clenched your hands. He wouldn’t kill you here, right? “Are you going to kill me?” Look at you, so bold, taking the initiative like this. Michael frowned, “Not here, I don’t want your filthy blood getting on my flowers.” So you were correct, Michael was the one who took care of those plants. “Ah.., ermm, understandable, those flowers are very pretty.”
The angel still had that distinct scorn on his face and a breath of arrogance, but he was beautiful nonetheless. His black hair stood out among all the colors, and the feathers of his wing that fluttered softly in the wind, as well as his right cheek which still hasn’t stopped crying. “Obviously they'd be pretty, I’m personally tending to them. Now get out, you are lucky I’m busy.” He walked past you, shoving you to the side and almost making you fall into the flowerbed, before filling up the watering can.
You stared at him emptily, then walked to the pavilion and sat down on one of the chairs, leaning back and watching him. “What do you think you are doing?” Michael then groaned, shooting you a furious look. “I’m looking at the flowers," You answered defiantly. “I thought I told you to get out—”
“Y/n!” Raphael’s voice rang through the garden, and he ran, almost tripping over Michael who was hovering near the entrance. “Urgh- don’t stand in my way, Michael.” When the black-haired angel heard that, he flared up, and his wing also flapped around very quickly, “Bloody hell Raphael, I was here first.” Quickly you stumbled across the yard and stopped the fight from escalating, grabbing the arm of the red angel, “Don’t fight, don’t fight, I’m here Rara. So, where did you want to take me?”
Raphael gave the other angel a final glare, before turning to you, "I haven't shown you your bedroom yet, come." Afterward, he walked away without looking back, holding your hand in his. Your gaze lingered on Michael for a while, longer than intended, before eventually turning around and following the much too enthusiastic boy.
That was your first day in heaven, and the days that followed weren’t all that different. It has become your daily routine to come to the garden, every single day. You were simply infatuated by the exotic flowers, and frankly, because you were curious about Michael. Why was he so dead on taking care of these flowers? Did he like pretty things, or was this simply his hobby? Every day, without fail, you’d bring some snacks and drinks with you and enjoy them under the pretty pavilion. Sometimes, more often than not, you’d be accompanied by Raphael as well.
Michael didn’t like that one bit, but since this garden belonged to all three seraphim’s, he couldn’t forbid Raphael from entering. Whenever you two spend time chatting and eating, he’d try to ignore you. Yet he couldn’t help but steal the occasional glances at the two of you being all lovely dovely. If you were to meet his face during these moments, he'd have an expression of pure disgust on his face, though he would never look away. Sometimes he also stares with an expression that wasn't disgust, it was something you couldn't put your finger on.
Particularly so when you’d pat and stroke Raphael on the head, hug him goodbye, or have him lay his head on your lap while you laugh all carefree. There was something about it, that seemed way too familiar, so intimate that it made him reminisce.
Back to the present, this time you came to the garden alone, which was rare, but not unusual. Michael hovered on the ground, the watering can placed next to him, he found it to be insane how used he’s gotten to your presence. Normally, he'd immediately luge for you and try to murder you, but now he's tolerating you for the sake of Raphael. You walked up to the angel, squatting, looking at the same batch of flowers he was looking at. He frowned at you for a split second, before turning his gaze back to the flowers.
“They are pretty, what’s their name?” You eventually asked, after admiring them for a good second. The flower had a pure white color, it hung from the thin stem, looking like multiple little bells. Michael stayed quiet for a moment, a gentle breeze running through his silky long hair, making them fly up a little. His soft feathers moved gently, proof of how soft they must be, you felt an impulse to reach out and touch them. He pondered over if he wanted to talk to the likes of you, then answered, “Lily of the valley.”
After hearing his answer, your eyes widened, you didn’t expect him to actually reply to you, and so calmly as well, it almost made you flustered. Wanting to continue the conversation, you quickly chirped, “Ah- it’s a pretty name.. erm, do these flowers have a meaning?” His head hung low when you voiced that question, the scent of sadness tickled your nose again.
Since you’ve spend so much time in the garden, you’ve come to understand it was the scent of Michael, who cried all the time. He debated with himself whether or not he should tell you, it was a little too intimate to tell strangers after all, yet there was something about you that made him feel weirdly at ease, and he whispered almost inaudibly, “They remind me of someone.” You didn’t need to ask twice to understand who he meant, instead, you chuckled. The boy grabbed your collar with an angry expression, and snapped, “What are you laughing at?”
You didn’t resist and explained, “Nothing, I’m not making fun of you. It was a bittersweet laugh.” Michael hesitated, the hand clutching your collar trembled slightly. “What do you mean.” He demanded, not even really asking. “It’s just… there’s someone I know who also plants flowers to remember his loved ones.” His grip loosened, and he pulled his hand back, you could swear you noticed his tears flow a little faster. “I think I know the name of the flower as well, it was— gardenia.”
He was a smart man, even if you beat around the bush he was fully aware of the person you meant. Seeing as you got him on your hook, it was time to spill the tea, just for the drama effect. You weren't sure where you were going with this, though you've always wanted to help these forsaken brothers, even if just a little, “but you know, he was a clumsy man. Even though he was the one who told me the name of the flower, he'd mistakenly call the flower ‘Michael’. What a silly man.”
Suddenly Michael darted towards you, tripping you over. You tried your best to not damage any of the plants around you, hands kept to your chest as the male got on top of you, pinning your head between his arms. Your head luckily didn't hit the stone floor, though his weight was a little uncomfortable. That's when you heard him scream, “Stop… acting like him..!”
“Hu-huh..?” The confusion was undeniable in your tone, and you tried to look at the man who was hovering over you. His hair blocked your sight, tickled your skin, and then wet droplets splashed onto your face. Were these... tears? Ah, probably from his- hold up, he was crying with both eyes. You gawked, surprised by his vulnerable emotional state. Guess angels were only neglected children after all. Gently, you brushed his hair to the side, seeing his eyes become watery and spilling hot tears.
Contrary to what you expected, he didn't deny your touch but instead leaned into it. His voice was quivering ever so little as he stated, “You knew from the start, didn’t you? So why.. why did you.. you and Raphael, you two..” his sobbing increased, blurring his sight with his tears. In the end, he stopped pinning you to the ground and straddled your lap.
With lingering doubts, you sat up, watching him wipe his tears with his now equally wet sleeves. You didn't know what came over you when you whispered subconsciously, “Beautiful.” It was what you thought at that moment, your most honest feelings. He stopped for a moment to look at you, then smiled bitterly, muttering, “You two are similar even in that regard..." Suddenly he hugged you, wrapping his arms around your neck and holding onto your back, clenching your clothes tightly.
Without missing a beat, he nuzzled into your neck, sobbing into your shoulder, all quietly, only the occasional hiccup could be heard slipping from his puffy lips. You knew all he needed was a shoulder to cry on, so you patted the back of his head, stroking through his soft locks, using your other hand to grab his waist. “It’s alright. And let me tell you something, I know Lucifer loves you just as dearly as you do." To your surprise he rubbed his wet cheek against yours, then turned to look at you, “…I guess you weren’t doing it on purpose?”
He had a meek smile on his face, an almost embarrassed expression. The tears didn’t stop flowing, though it seemed he calmed down a little. “I don’t know what you mean?” You retracted your hand from the back of his head and wiped his tears away. The angel stared at your fingers for a moment, then leaned even closer to you, uttering, “Lucifer Hyeong would have kissed them away.” For the next few seconds, you froze.
Why did he tell you that...? Was he hinting at you to do the same? Does that mean he thought you were similar to Lucifer?
“May I ask why you think so?” The question was a little out of pocket, but he knew what you tried to ask him. “You know what I... miss about Hyeong?" He looked down, clenching his teeth, muscles tensing before relaxing them again to finish his sentence, "Everything, I-I miss his laughter, his hugs, his soft strokes- And guess what you've been doing in front of me?” You went quiet at the last part, this time you knew exactly what he meant without further explanation.
Though you truly weren't doing it to spite him or with other ulterior motives, you were simply being yourself. The look you had was indescribable, it wasn’t quite pity, but more a cocktail of many emotions. “You…” he began once again, stopping to take a deep, shaky breath, to calm his erratic heart and stop the sobbing, before continuing, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I didn't mean to appear identical to-” you didn’t get the chance to end your speech when he interrupted you, “don’t you dare speak with my brother’s tone, while looking and acting like him.” At this point, you didn’t even know what to do, how could it be that everything you did reminded him of that person? Furthermore, you feared he was starting to have a twisted and possibly delusional image of you, to make you his substitute for Lucifer. You were sick of playing house after all that ordeal with the devils— especially Sitri.
All in all, no matter how similar their image of you and the person they meet in their dream is, you could never become the same. You were your own person, and not whatever others wanted you to be. The only thing you could think of doing was to somehow comfort him, this beautiful man who didn’t understand his own feelings, in a way his dearest older brother would never. So you hugged him, pulling him into a tight embrace, something he desperately wanted and needed.
The results were him crying even more frantically, weeping like a baby bird while he cried out, “I missed you so much, brother.” You didn't like his choice of words. After a while, you said silently, like a soft exhale of air that grazed his ears, “I’m not Lucifer.”
His grip on you tightened, but nothing else happened until you commented, "And I'm not your brother or Hyeong." The angel whined out, “Stop..” yet you didn’t, you followed your statement up with, “Not to mention I doubt Lucifer will ever come back to heaven.” Micheal looked like he was devastated, unable to accept the truth, he was basically begging you now as he yelled, “S-stop! I demand you to stop talking—” You shifted in your seat, now grabbing his wrists with one hand, “Michael, I think the reason he left is because it’s time for you to move on.”
He stayed completely still, arms now placed above his head, cheeks, and nose completely red while he wore this lost look in his eyes. “I’ll say it again, I’m not Lucifer. No matter how I act, I won’t be able to give you the same solace as he does.” Slowly, you guided his wrist to your lips, and bit down, leaving behind a red mark and a flustered Michael. He whimpered at the pain, taking his sweet time to snap back to reality as if he wanted to stay in his own fantasy world. “I can at most comfort you in other ways.” You then added, holding him closer with your free hand.
The boy didn’t struggle anymore, his pupils shook slightly, cheeks rosy as he hid it behind his wing. His face has been decorated with those pretty, shiny water droplets, some even dried off already. “W-what..?” Before he could prepare himself for what you had in store for him, you guided his body to move back and forth on your lap. He almost shrieked at the sudden movement, and then he stared at you with a baffled look.
If he had to describe it, it felt like he was riding a horse, but why were you doing this? Rubbing his metallic chastity belt against your skin, wasn't it uncomfortable? “Hold on to me.” You then said, and he became even more confused. Nonetheless, he obliged all obediently, grabbing your shoulders but taking care to not use too much strength.
This shift in behavior wasn’t because of you, he was still seeing you as that person, as him. With gritted teeth, you pulled down the zipper to his pants, and his cheeks flushed immediately. “Wait! What do you think you are doing?!!” He screamed, obviously not prepared for that bold move of yours. The boy was being so loud your eardrums almost exploded.
Judging by his reaction, you were achieving the effect you wanted, breaking down his idolized version of you, “I’m guessing Lucifer never taught you sex education~?” You joked and stared at his chastity belt. It’s the second one you’ve seen, the first one was Raphael’s. This one looked a little different in shape and color, it was golden, like most of the accessories of Michael. Despite it being a few weeks already, you still remembered clearly how you unlocked that device, which is why it didn’t take long until you freed the poor member of the male from its cage.
Michael stared down at you, unmoving, eyes widened while being as red as a tomato. When he heard the click of the lock, he felt his heart leap for a second. “No- no way.. you opened this? So easily?” He blushed and seemed slightly disgusted by the looks of his erection, which was leaking glowing precum down his shaft. This is also his first time seeing his dick, you almost forgot about the fact, that angels are basically all virgins. Gosh, how cute~
With one pull, you threw his chastity belt to the side, staring at his half-erect dick. “Yep. And- oh my? You are way bigger than your brother?” To be honest, you weren’t even sure if you were impressed or terrified. Michael hid his face with the back of his palm, thighs instinctively trying to squeeze close when a gust of wind blew against his now fully hard cock, though of course there weren't any results, considering he was straddling your thighs.
“No, d-don’t look..! No one should... expect god…” more tears swelled up in his eyes, he was also embarrassed at doing it outside, here so many people could catch you two. It would be blasphemy if anyone saw him in this state, he'd probably rip off his own wings and join his brother in hell if that happened! Knowing that you almost felt bad for him, for all these sexually frustrated and very much depraved creatures.
“Shh, don’t worry, I’ll just help you jack one off. You’ll feel much better afterward.” With that being said, you got to work. Fingers sinking into his smooth flesh, moving him around on your thigh, making him rub the underside of his most intimate parts against your clothes legs. It felt so rough against his perfect and soft skin, and on top of all of it, it felt so weird and so hot. He mewled, unable to fathom all these sensations, eyes searching for some guidance from you. Though you deliberately ignored him, gliding him across your thigh, trying to stimulate the male.
He began trashing around, resisting, pushing you away while crying out, "No! H-hyeong would never do something sinful like this..!! You stop these.. unholy and inappropriate acts!" You only laughed in response, asking teasingly, "But tell me, Michael, doesn't this feel good?" Completely treating his request like some passing breeze, feeling grateful that he was still capable of making his own judgment.
"I- no, I'm not answering you?! Are you trying to slander my brother?" He sounded just a tiny bit angry with you, trying hard to ignore the building arousal in his lower abdomen. "No, I never claimed to be him. Do you understand what I'm getting at, Michael?" His mouth hung open, as if he wanted to say something, yet not a single word escaped his throat. On the other hand, a series of moans and choked-out whimpers reached your ears. "Nghh... ahHh- I, s-still, sto- hnNghhh!"
Not good, he was being swept up by those hellish sentiments, by the temptations of the flesh. Why did it have to feel so hot, and be so brain-numbing? Poor birdy could barely think straight after all that edging on your part. You were way too perverted and too much of a tease to be his kind and gentle Hyeong!
"Y-y/n...! Please, I-I don't want this... it's scary, stop..!" At last, he resulted to pleading, unable to deal with the weight of his emotions clashing and fighting internally. It was the truth that he sought comfort by your hands and wanted you to fill the hole in his heart, but then you went ahead and turned the table at him. He didn't want to be touched by someone who wasn't god... and Lucifer. He also didn't want his first sexual encounter to be with you, or if it had to be done, out in the open in a place like this, where he'll defile all these pure and pretty flowers.
"Don't touch me..!" Even though he was so deadbeat on his mindset, he didn't try to push you away, was it out of consideration for the flowers or because he didn't dare hurt you after seeing Lucifer in you? No, hardly so, you could see right through his facade. He was probably thinking about how awful this situation was, but you knew he was lying to himself.
To prove your point, you stopped, leaning back and using your arms to support yourself off the ground, you apologized almost half-heartedly, "Alright, sorry then, I won't touch you. So, you do as you see fit. Climb off if that's what you truly want." Once again you surprised the angel with your actions, he didn't think you'd be so willing.
Only when you stopped pleasuring him he noticed that he actually missed the bubbly and warm feeling of your touch or that his erection was throbbing almost painfully so. He glanced down in disbelief, humiliation filling his senses. If he had to be blunt he had absolutely no idea how to react to this, so he did the only thing he could think of, doing whatever you did. Mind you his brain was already turned into mush due to all the tension from before.
Skeptically, he rolled his hips along your thighs, squeezing his lips shut in a poor attempt to stiffen his moans. At this rate, he was going to overstimulate himself since he didn't know what he was doing. Pride thrown out of the window while he bit back his shame, desperately grinding against you with that flushed look on his face. Small, muffled whines still seeped through his almost, almost water-tight defense. "Don't you dare... say anything... mhm!!"
He knew how hypocritical he was being, doing exactly what he apparently ‘hated’, that's why he didn't want to hear any mean comments from You. But his body moved on its own, he couldn't stop chasing after his own bliss. Why did it have to feel so good anyway? To drag his cock along your thigh, grinding his pre into your clothes... You watched the show unfold with attentive eyes, smirking as if you were saying, "Told ya". His grip on your shoulders got tighter, almost painful to bear.
Then he laid his forehead against the crook of your neck, body shivering tremendously while he groaned, "I-I... bloody hell... you did this to me." That angelic voice of his grazed your skin, hot and laced with need. "I don't know why I'm.. hngg, reacting l-like this..." He continued, egging you on, not getting to the point. "So, what are you getting at?" Again, you were aware of what he wanted from you, but you wanted to hear it from him personally.
“What I mean is- you... you take over!” Suddenly he leaned back to stare right into your eyes, he was still crying from both eyes. This time you were sure it wasn't due to his self-pity and sadness. You reached out for his cheek, cupping his face. His skin was hot, so much so that your hand felt ice cold against him. He leaned into your touch, lips squeezed into a pout, brows furrowed as he held his gaze low. "I thought you didn't like it?" You cooed, rubbing his tears away with your thumb.
Michael stayed quiet, he couldn't argue with that, he was the one that desperately pushed your touch away. That's why he just slumped back against you, mumbling, "P-please... I don't like— this heat either... make it go away..." Just to mess with him some more, you hummed, tilting your head to the side, "Hmm, I don't know, can't you do it yourself?" Now the angel was gritting his teeth, you wondered if you went too far. Much to your surprise, he pulled you into a deep, clumsy kiss.
The salty taste of his tears grazed your lips, his tongue messily stumbled into your mouth and he slurped and swindled it around aimlessly. You stayed still for a second, partly due to you getting startled, as well as you being in awe about how bad he was at kissing. Perhaps it was his first kiss, how cute, he's willingly gifting it to you. Since he has given you something so valuable, you had to show him a good time now, ain't that right?
Slowly, to not scare him, you moved your tongue as well, meeting his eager kiss with a smile on your lips. Closing your eyes to fully immerse yourself, only after seeing the embarrassed look on his blushy features. While he was distracted, you placed your graceful fingers around his slim waist again, giving him little instruction on what to do. Then, once he got into a rhythm, you moved your leg to meet his thrusts.
His heat and wetness already seeped through your pants, soaking your skin with his sticky substances. Yet you didn't bother, focusing solely on him and his pleasure. After a few sucks on your side, against his willing body, he started moaning into the kiss. Long, drawn-out moans that ended with a high-pitched whine for more, "ahhnnngh.. mhmm-uhm!!"
His hips suddenly jerked forwards, his poor cock was leaking and twitching helplessly, wagging around like some kind of tail. The neglect was impossible to overlook. May it be for his red, swollen tip that was decorated with glistening pearls of pre, or his bulging veins that looked like they were about to pop, it didn't matter. All he knew was he wanted more of this ecstatic, hypnotizing feeling that only you could provide.
Gradually, his movements became faster and more sloppy, your grip on him was so tight that his skin bruised. He choked, gagging on your tongue, throwing his head back to break the kiss. This was too much, too intense..! That poor birdy needs a break, or his brain will melt! Despite that, you grabbed him by his wing and forced him to stay still, lips crashing against his again. The feeling of your hand on his wing only intensified his pleasure, making him more erratic as electricity coursed through him.
You weren't done nor satisfied yet, hence you shoved your tongue down his throat again. "Mffhhmm!! ♡♡~! Y/n- I- nghhH..!!" This sensation, of something tingling inside him, threatened to burst at any rate. How was he supposed to hold himself back? All resistance fell on deaf ears and crumbled, and he felt himself being brought over the edge of bliss and sanity. For a moment that was supposed to be forbidden for him, or downright sinful, he felt strangely warm inside.
He hadn't felt this fuzzy and at ease for a long time, and so, he did what his instincts told him, he embraced the feeling. Tears poured from his eyes like little waterfalls, his face ruined to the point of being unrecognizable, and his wing flapping around in a pathetic attempt to balance out the pleasure. He grabbed a fistful of your clothes, almost digging holes into them as he relentlessly rode your thigh. He felt weak, so powerless like never.
His knees have been shaking for quite some time now. If it wasn't for your hands on his hips, he would have slumped forward and fallen into your embrace, that was how weak he was. More sweet whispers of pleasure slipped from his swollen lips, sending a tingle down your spine. "Hmmm... m' su-sumthin's cummin'..!♥︎♡!!" Michael tried to warn you, head so empty he couldn't form proper sentences. Not to mention you were still making out with him, rendering it almost impossible for him to speak coherently.
His dick twitched around a few times again, the tip was rather rubbing against your belly than your thighs, leaving behind strings of pre in its wake. Finally, after an eternity of tension and promised pleasures, he felt himself reaching his limit. The feeling was nothing he had ever experienced before, he couldn't even try to put it into words that was how mind-blowing it was. With one last meek try to warn you, which ended up sounding more like a high-pitched shriek of bliss and pure, primal ecstasy, he came all over the two of you.
“MhNMHHH~ aaAhHHnNNGGh♡♡♥︎♡♥︎~!!” Tridal waves of pleasure surged through his veins, making him shudder due to the intensity. His toes curled, wing flapping uncontrollably as thick ropes of white cum spurt out of his way too-overstimulated dick. It splattered across your clothes, and his as well. Judging by the amount of glowing fluids he shot out, he must have been pent up. Once again, you took the first orgasm ever of an angel, and it felt weirdly fun.
All this pleasure was too much for an inexperienced virgin angel like him~ his mind basically blanked out during his ejaculation, causing him to whimper and groan like some animal in heat, "Ah- uhm.? Nghh, uh-hnggh ♥︎♡♡!" He never knew there was pleasure like this, this amazing and tingly. It was just like the day he lost his eye.
You weren't even sure what he was trying to say, maybe nothing, maybe insults, whatever it was you didn't really care. Instead, you were fascinated by how different yet similar his reaction was to Raphael's. So it was true that angels were as bland as their buildings, with no real knowledge of what the pleasures of the flesh meant. You smiled, looking at his wrecked face. Still as red as ever, with dried-out tears stuck to his skin, and drool hanging out of his mouth, he has never looked more beautiful.
His wing has also calmed down, it was almost limping next to his head. Eyes still a little unfocused as he slowly regained his clarity, moving his hand to his face to rub his puffy eyes. That silky, untangled hair was a little messy more, and his clothes wrinkled. "That was a little too much stimulation for your first, huh?" You joked, and he didn't have the strength to give you a sassy answer, but he glared at you nonetheless. It was more of an I'm-too-tired-for-this glare than anything else though.
You didn't move from your spot, not wanting to rush him, giving him enough time to collect himself until he deemed himself ready to stand up from your lap. In the meantime, you noticed that the sad scent that radiated from him has dissipated, at least for now. Somehow, you felt really proud of yourself for that, smiling under your breath as you placed a kiss on his forehead.
Michael squeezed his eyes with a pout but didn't resist. His argument or defense for himself was that he was too worn out and tired, for now, and that he had enough opportunities to kill you in the future. It was nothing else but excuses, considering angels are just delusional beings at their core. As soon as he stood up on his wobbly legs, you wanted to ask how he was doing, that's when Raphael emerged from behind the doorframe.
His head peeked into the garden as he smirked darkly, mischievously even. "Pff, you look like a horny beast, Michael. Was it fun, screaming so loud I could hear your disgraceful moaning from miles away?" You stared at the blond angel with a skeptical look, he was acting as if he didn't act just the same. Then, he turned to you and said, "Anyway, y/n, you, come with me. I have something to show you." Now he stood in the doorframe with his entire figure, leaned against it.
You stood up from where you were previously sitting, and answered all carefree as you walked past him, "Okay ~ lemme get changed first." Raphael made way for you when you walked by and nodded in acknowledgment. Once you were gone, he made eye contact with his dear brother and had a slight scorn on his face. Michael frowned back at him, brushing off the dust from his clothes, even though there were bigger problems about his appearance than that. Like his disheveled hair, or the traces of shining cum on his shirt.
“What, don't like the fact they aren't only yours?” After a quick glaring contest, Michael spoke up, a sneer present in his voice. He got closer to Raphael, now standing right in front of him, crossing his arms around his chest. Though it seemed he had recovered very quickly, his legs and knees were still a little uneasy. "...I can't say I'm pleased with it, but they are free to do as they wish." The Blondie said, averting his gaze for a split second.
“How unusual of you, sharing was never your strong point.” The black-haired seraphim commented. A snarky laugh erupted from the red angel, and he scoffed, "You are one to talk." Afterward, he turned around, waving his hand as if to say goodbye, "It's a shame that I'm not the only angel who has experienced god's given pleasure now, but oh well, I'm still their first, remember it well." With that, Raphael disappeared into the building, leaving Michael standing at the entrance to the garden, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

Nini!rant 2.0:
I found many different translations for the meaning of the mentioned flowers, but these are the ones that I liked best.
Lily of the valley: purity, happiness, nostalgia, sadness, pain, death
According to the bible, lily of the valley is most infamously mentioned in the Song of Solomon (2:11). It’s also sometimes used as a metaphor or comparison to Jesus Christ, due to its sweet scent and white colour (Ephesians 5:2). White, which is knows to be a sin-free colour, used to describe a person without sin -> Michael still sees luci as a person without sin
There’s also a saying that lilies are the tallest of flowers, but hangs its head down, symbolising humbleness (Philippians 2:6~8). Also it’s supposed to have a lot of medical qualities, so it fits lucifer, who’s a healer.
Gardenia: purity, harmony, sweetness, joy, secret love
Here, it’s also qualities and things lucifer wishes for Michael. Like harmony, joy. Then, how he sees him and thinks about him. I thought it’d be cute haha
I choose them very carefully, there was quite a lot of thought behind them, that’s why it got its own special mention here :]

i saw requests were open and i simply could not resist
holding both their hands while holding their gaze gently, just before leaning in for a kiss + oscar maybe? honestly whoever you want to write it with, i’ll be happy!!!
you’re the best, love you, hope you’re having the most beautiful day ever💛💛
marissa babe i love you loads, thank you so much for this request <3 i've melted into a puddle writing this i kid you not
oscar piastri x reader, 1.8k. request something from here!
You’ve gone back and forth between canceling your date three times in the past two hours now.
You should be showering, getting ready, finding a cute outfit, but instead you’re pacing a hole in the floor of your room, staring at your phone on your desk.
You’ve been going out with the sweetest guy, Oscar, for a bit, and you like to think things are going well. He’s so kind and so cute, and you still can’t quite wrap your mind around the fact that he likes you enough to have gone on five dates with you.
But for some reason, he makes you so unbelievably nervous. You feel like a bumbling fool around him whenever you’re together, tripping over your words, laughing a little too hard for a little too long at something that probably wasn’t even that funny, but you can’t help it. When Oscar is around, it’s like some little person in your brain wrenches away control from any rational thinking and just goes crazy.
The worst part is, you don’t even know why. He’s just your type, he makes you feel like you’ve known him for much longer than you have, and you thought that would put you at ease.
You’ve never felt this way with any other person before. Maybe that’s why you’re acting this way. This thing you have with Oscar is special, however new it is, and you’re afraid of fucking it up. You haven’t even kissed yet, but you’re afraid of fucking that up too.
At that moment, your phone buzzes with a text from none other than Oscar himself.
Oscar: Can’t wait to see you tonight. Miss you :-)
You’ve only gone four days without seeing each other and he misses you enough to tell you so. Fuck, he’s adorable.
You have to go now, because the moment you finish reading his message you’re grinning like an idiot, giggling alone in your room at an eight word message and a stupidly endearing smiley face.
Unfortunately, your nerves and anxieties have come to bite you on the ass. Now you’ve only got a little more than an hour to do everything you should’ve been doing to get ready for dinner instead of sitting around being indecisive.
How you manage to get ready and out the door on time is a miracle, and before you know it you’re in an Uber on your way to meet Oscar. The driver is a kindly older man, rather talkative, which normally you weren’t very fond of, but his stories about his grandkids do wonders at providing a distraction from your thoughts.
You almost forget you’re on your way to meet Oscar until you get out of the car and spot him across the street, slouched against the wall of the restaurant scrolling on his phone.
He looks devastatingly handsome in a simple black t-shirt and jeans, both of which fit him fantastically, if you say so yourself, hair fluffed to perfection even though you know for a fact he probably hadn’t done a thing to it.
As if he senses you’ve arrived, he glances up, beaming brightly at the sight of you. He raises his hand in a wave, pocketing his phone immediately and coming to meet you at the other edge of the sidewalk.
“Hey, stranger. Long time no see,” He says warmly, effortlessly folding you into a hug. You let yourself melt a little bit in his embrace, cheek pressed to his firm chest. “You look really pretty.”
“You don’t look so bad yourself,” You reply. He smiles bashfully, the tips of his ears turning pink. “Shall we?” He offers out the crook of his elbow and you loop your arm through his, happy to follow his lead into the restaurant.
Dinner goes well, all things considered. You’re frustratingly aware of how Oscar makes you feel the entire time, but you think you’re playing it off fairly well.
Or at least, if Oscar does notice, he doesn’t say anything. He’s absolutely perfect the whole time, polite and engaged with your stories, and funny in that dry sort of way of his that you’ve come to like.
You insist on splitting the bill once it comes and he doesn’t waste time by fighting you for the check like a lot of guys always seem to do, but he does call dibs on paying for ice cream at a place down the road he’d spotted on his way in, which you agree to.
He slides his hand into yours almost shyly at the start of the walk over, peering over at you through that one swooping curl of his that never seemed to stay put, as if to ask if it was okay he was holding your hand.
Your relationship (if you could even call it one at this early stage) is still new to the point where both of you aren’t quite sure what’s okay and when. Your response is to simply lace your fingers through his and squeeze.
You quite like holding his hand, even if it does make you worry about if yours is too sweaty.
Oscar opts for double chocolate chunk as his scoop of choice, which surprises you a little bit. You thought he would’ve gone for vanilla, but he always finds new ways to surprise you. He even pokes fun at your choice in flavor, bumping his shoulder against yours with that big smile that makes your heart dance in your chest.
You find a nice place to sit and eat your ice cream on a bench in a cute little park across the way, and everything is going swimmingly, but then he asks.
“This might be a stupid question, but are you alright?”
You nearly choke on your ice cream at his words. You’ve learned that Oscar is usually pretty blunt, but you’re still trying to get used to it. “Am I—what?”
“Are you okay? You seem…different. Was dinner alright? I’ve never been there before, but one of my mates keeps going on and on about it so I thought—”
So he had noticed. You shake your head firmly, placing a hand over Oscar’s. “Dinner was lovely.”
“Ah. Okay. Is it something else then?” To his credit, he looks genuinely concerned that something’s wrong, even with ice cream smudged at the edge of his mouth. You have to fight the urge to wipe it away for him. “You don’t have to tell me, but you can if you want to. I’m a good listener.”
You could tell him. It would benefit you to tell him, but for some reason, you hesitate.
How are you to tell Oscar that he makes you feel like you're not yourself when he's around? That you get so nervous in his presence that you always feel like you're doing or saying the wrong thing?
That every time he holds your hand or touches your cheek or texts you silly updates about his failed attempts at keeping a plant alive, you have to fight the urge to scream because you like him so much it scares you and you're afraid you’ll chase him away if you let him in on it.
How do you tell someone all that without sounding completely and totally mental?
You’ve only been on five dates, for fuck’s sake. For all you know, he could be planning on telling you it just won't work out between the two of you as soon as you get home tonight. You know he wouldn't do that because he's way too nice, but it doesn't stop you from jumping to conclusions.
You must take longer than you think to respond, because Oscar says your name again. He’s fully facing you now, one hand on your knee when you come back down from your thoughts, brows furrowed.
“I like you.” You blurt.
He blinks a few times, then smiles. “Well, that's good, ‘cause I like you too.”
“No, Oscar, I—” You pause a beat, trying to gather your thoughts into something more coherent. “I really like you. Like, so much that I feel like I’m messing everything up.”
“You could never mess anything up,” Oscar says fondly. So, so fondly. Your heart feels like it's about to leap out of your chest at his sincerity. “I really like you too. It’s a little scary, actually.”
“Oh, thank god. I thought it was just me,” You breathe, shoulders sagging in relief.
“That’s it, though?” He prods, cocking his head to the side curiously.
“Uh…yes? I’m sorry, were you expecting more?”
“No, no, of course not. I just—I thought maybe you were acting differently because you didn’t like me anymore. Got tired of me, or something like that,” He admits sheepishly, rubbing at the back of his neck.
His shoulders hunch in on themselves, brows knit in something akin to embarrassment as he stares off at something in the distance. “It sounds stupid now that I hear it out loud, actually. Forget I said anything.”
“Oscar,” You hum, just as soft as the way he’d reassured you moments earlier. His eyes shift over to meet yours, rich, warm brown like fresh coffee looking wide eyed back at you. You ease the nearly half empty paper cup out of his grip, taking both his hands in your own. You don’t miss the way his Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows hard.
“Hm?” He sounds flustered, gaze flicking down to your lips momentarily before coming back up. It’s only a split second, but you know what it means.
He wants you to kiss him. You want to kiss him. You haven’t yet because you’ve been scared, but you don’t feel scared anymore. You’re not at all sure where this sudden burst of confidence is coming from, but you’re sure as hell not about to let it go to waste, so you lean forward, pressing your lips against his gently.
It’s like he’s been waiting for this moment, because as soon as your mouth is on his, he sighs, tilting his head accordingly so your noses won’t smash together. You can taste the chocolate from his ice cream on his lips as they move against yours, and it’s not a perfect kiss by any means, but Oscar’s kissing you back, so it feels pretty perfect to you. You’re rather sad when you have to pull away, but air remains a necessity.
Oscar’s eyes flutter open slowly. “That was…”
“Nice?” You supply hopefully.
Oscar bobs his head quickly, agreeing wholeheartedly. “Really nice. We should do it again. Can I…?” Now it’s your turn to nod, and he wastes no time in kissing you again, maybe a little too excitedly, because he knocks both your ice creams off the bench and onto the ground with a sad splat. He pulls away just enough to look at the splatter of melted dessert already starting to seep into the cobblestones under your feet. “Oh. Crap, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean—”
“Forget the ice cream,” You mumble, already chasing him for more. You reach around to tangle your fingers up and into the hair at the nape of his neck as a means of pulling him closer.
Oh, this newfound confidence is really working out for you.
He lets out a hitched exhale, swallowing hard again. “Yeah, yep. Forgetting the ice cream.”

pro hero!bakugou x reader | fluff, a little bit domestic, a little bit intimate, a little bit suggestive? (not really) | cw: cursing, a very modest bath scene
-bakugou only knows how to give, you wish he'd let you do the same for him-
Tumblr media
Thinking about the newly domestic give and take between you and Katsuki. It doesn't come naturally to him. He's hell bent on doing everything himself, at first. That's the way he's always lived after all—hyper self-sufficient, independent to a fault, and so goddamn stubborn about it all.
It makes you feel almost useless, his insistence on doing everything, not only for himself but for you as well. Honestly, you should have expected it; he was like that well before moving in together. Taking all the responsibilities on himself, wrangling you out of the way when you so much as try to help, because he "feels like it", or he's "better at it", or "just move, f'r I make ya".
But you were a guest in his house, then—so you let him have his way, bullheaded as it was. Now that you share a house—a home—you want nothing more than to take care of it, of him.
Though moving mountains would be easier than convincing him to accept it.
You try brute force, first. And it goes as well as you might expect, like throwing pebbles at a brick wall. Putting yourself between him and the dishes is just as futile; he cooked dinner, you should be the one to do this. It's only fair. Still, he takes it upon himself to pick you up and physically remove you from 'his' spot by the sink, ugly yellow gloves dripping dishwater all the way to the counter.
The floor is completely soaked by the time he plops you down on the countertop, as are your jeans, your flailing arms and exasperated "Katsuki!" having done little to deter him. Your mouth opens in protest but his hands, firm at your sides and eyes, red, and stern and definite leave no room for discussion.
So you try to 'talk about it', second. When his mood has cooled and he's feeling a little sweet. He usually is, when hero work has worn him down, chipped away at his fire until there's nothing left but his worn down bones and the aching desire to be enveloped in you—his head on your chest, your fingers in his hair.
He's nothing but mush in your arms by the time you bring it up, nearly two hundred pounds of limp muscle, eyes half lidded, and slow, warm breath. You think he doesn't hear you at first, more likely he pretends not to; but then you hear a half-hearted, "hmph". And you sigh.
"I'm serious, Kats." you rake your fingers across his scalp absently and he groans in appreciation, furling into you more. "You can't do everything, just look at you."
He peers up at you with one eye, an almost glare, more playful than anything; too tired for anything more. He huffs gently, warm breath across your chest when you don't back down. "We'll talk about it later."
'Later'; meaning never. Still, you don't press him. Not when he's so tired, not when this small moment of peace is all he allows you to offer him.
Ever predictable; there isn't a later, and he finds a way to avoid the conversation, in one way or another. Over and over and over again. You're at the end of your rope just trying to get him to listen.
So you try a last ditch effort at patience, at compromise (usually a losing battle, with him); working him over, little by little.
And it works, mostly.
You find that, most times, you can slip past him while he's cooking to steal the dirty mixing bowls and discarded pans; wash them while he's preoccupied trying not to burn the chicken or fretting over cutting the vegetables 'just right'. That him doing the cooking is non-negotiable, but he'll let you help as long as you stop trying to kiss him while he's "tryin' to make y'r dinner over here, god damnit".
(Don't let him fool you, he likes it).
That it takes you far too long to realize how much he craves being asked for 'help', instead of your usual insistence on helping him. That when he feels appreciated and useful, he's almost eager to share the housework with you, looking almost boyish standing there, hands stuffed in his pockets, the tepid scowl twisting his pretty face betrayed by the blush creeping up the back of his neck when you hum a lilted, "Thank you, Katsuki".
Your strategy's not foolproof, of course; he's still quick to steal whatever you're working on once he's finished his, itching to make himself busy once more.
But it's progress.
Still, no matter how much you try, or how long you pester him, he puts his foot down at taking care of him while he's sick, while he's training or on patrol. Anything that could end with you hurt, or put you in harms way is a hard 'no'—always, always, always.
That's not to say he doesn't let you take care of him ever. Though it was more hassle than it should have been, getting him to just sit comfortable instead of disappearing into the bath for hours, or taking his frustrations out on his poor, battered training equipment.
These days, when he's had an especially tiring evening, he'll sink down into the sofa without you having to say a thing, let you press your fingers into his shoulders and down his spine until the knots unwind. That occasionally he'll let you take him by the hand even, coax him gently into warm water and vanilla scented bubble bath.
That he becomes particularly docile when you're massaging your flowery conditioner into his wily blonde hair. The scent of you—over his waist, around his shoulders, in his hair—it's almost intoxicating, and he wraps his arms around you, like he's desperate for more, burying his face in your chest; sighs like he's at ease for the first time in his life.
It isn't easy, teaching Katsuki to take—but when he lays down with you at night, his eyes are a little brighter, hands hold you a little tighter, a little longer than when all he knew was how to give, give, give. And when his lips find yours, and you can feel his smile against them, you figure all the trouble is worth it.
And when he rolls the both of you over til you're pinned beneath heavy thighs, impish grin on his lips and calloused fingers beneath your shirt, trouble and promise brewing behind his newly fired eyes, well that's just a bonus.

The worst time to have a carreer on Public Relations is when your client is as unhinged as y/n y/ln has proven to be. Many people, myself included, can't help but feel sorry for whoever is on her team because there's only so much someone can do to put out a fire when the person burning is the same one who keeps lighting the matches.
y/n just can't stop messing up, can she? Just when her fans thought she would rise from the ashes with an outstanding movie deal, the 'Queen of Romcoms' has to go ahead and mess things up by proving that people who aren't blinded by her master manipulations are right: y/n y/ln is in fact a cheating snake.
The Deuxmoi post talking about an actress involved with a Formula 1 driver and her presence at the Italian Grand Prix last Sunday are enough confirmation of the fact. y/n is not ashamed to be seen on broad daylight with the guy that broke off her engagement.
Don't kill the messenger, y/n fans. Aidan Kim and Victoria Presley did warn you.

New York, United States, September 10th.
It feels like you've just finished unpacking when you find yourself throwing stuff in a suitcase once again. There is little to none excitement in you as you decide between a couple of blouses and recite Amy's lines outloud inside your messy apartment.
"Wait—that's not right," you huff, unaware that you've let the blouse you like the least inside the suitcase. The lines slip your mind like butter on a pan. Honestly, you've started to wonder if several of your braincells died in the past month. Nothing other than 'I want to be great or nothing' seem to have stuck. So much for how well that single line applies to your life.
"'It looks like it's never done a day of work in its life'," you mutter, picking the script up from the dining table. You have studied it a million times, gone through lines and rehearsals and a thousand other things. You have called Greta and Timothée and Saoirse and they have called you on their own accord to agree the accurate tones of scenes and interactions, and yet you are sure you are still going to mess everything up once the camera starts rolling. "God, help me."
The clock on your phone tells you it's 9:30 a.m. and you are nowhere being done with your luggage. Also, Charles' plane lands in less than an hour and you are not making it to the airport in time. He has a busy month race-wise and he has still made some time to come to New York before you leave for Boston in a couple days and you are both turned upside down with the Asian race-tour.
There is one reason—and one reason only— that Mildred has agreed that you should have these two days off. That reason is not Charles Leclerc, given the fact that she has grown to hate him even if she can admit, albeit to herself only, that he has done nothing wrong. You are supposed to be preparing more interviews and then a prolonged stage of silence while you focus on filming Little Women. Mildred has a whole plan laid out and that is another script you have to follow. No improvisations though, you have been warned.
─────────
Time has a funny way of passing by when it comes to Charles and yourself. Your whole relationship feels contained in a moment and also in a century, and every time you see each other again, even after just a few days a whole other bubble of time seems to have passed. You think it's Charles' way of making it feel special, making you feel special by looking at you like you're a part of him he's constantly missing when you're not right next to him. A 'lovesick fool' you have heard him been nicknamed by people who try to be nice, at least a little bit. Others sneer at how they can't wait for the 'honeymoon phase' to be over.
And it's precisely the way he looks at you before he's crushing you against his chest that makes you hold your tongue for the rest of the day. You cannot bring yourself to tell him the plan the people around you have made without asking for your input—much lesser his— to salvage your career and your reputation.
It nags at you how stupid you're being. Maybe some part of your brain did die between Sunday and today, but you are certain you won't be able to bear the disappointment in Charles' eyes when he finds out what you agreed to.
This visit is less touristy than the last time Charles came to New York. He's leaving tomorrow and you, the day after for Boston, so you want to bask in each other's company as much as possible. You go to a cupcake place and take pictures, all while Charles re-tells everything people have said about his win on Sunday. He's become even more of the Golden Boy he already was in the eyes of Ferrari fans, and you feel love swell in your chest at the fact. You love that he's loved, there's nothing he deserves more than to be loved.
"Will you show me the script now?" Charles asks, taking his light jacket off as he crosses the door to your apartment. A slight feeling of embarrassment flashes through you when you focus on the different disasters around the house but Charles either doesn't notice or doesn't mind as he makes himself comfortable on the couch where several pairs of your shoes are scattered.
"I think it would violate my contract somehow if I did," you chuckle, noticing that your travel kit toothbrush and toiletries are on the coffee table. "I was sure I had those in my luggage already," you groan, pointing at them.
Charles laughs, patting the spot next to him and motioning you over excitedly. "Can I see it please?" he elongates the 'e', with a mocking puppy eye look on his face. "Read me some of your favorite lines," he's suggested so several times and you refuse him every single one. It's not like he hasn't seen you act, Charles admitted in one of your phone calls to have binged all of your movies.
"I can't," you fall into the couch next to him, wrapping one arm around his neck. "You make me nervous, it won't turn out good."
"You see me work all the time," he grumbles against your hair, "And you too, make me nervous. You're being unfair."
"Oh, booohooo," you mock, nuzzling into his neck. "Your job is far more exciting than me reciting lines."
"It is not—"
His complaint is cut short as you kiss him, once, twice, so many times you lose count and he kisses you back between snickers and fake complaints about how there's only so much his heart can take before it explodes. It's so cheesy it makes you both cringe and burst with laughter before starting the scene all over again.
A re-run of a Foodnetwork reality show is playing in the background when you open your eyes after a short-lived nap. Charles is swiping through his phone with his other arm around you, the light in the apartment has faded almost completely giving way to late evening.
"Do you want to go out for dinner?" you ask pushing off of Charles' body and sit and rub your eyes. "Or should we order something?"
He locks his phone and stretches, still laying on his back. "Whatever you want to do, soleil."
You two are way too comfortable in your little cocoon to mess it up by going outside just to eat. Charles smiles, knowing you've already made your mind up.
You argue on the couch for ten minutes about what take-out to get and after you've finally placed the order on your phone, you get up to make some space the dining table.
"Here," you throw the bunch of papers at him softly. The 'Little Women' script is anotated from page one, and it is true that you probably shouldn't be showing it to him, but it doesn't really hurt anyone either. "Not a word, do you hear me, Leclerc?"
Charles laughs before crossing his heart with his index finger, eager to read about your next big thing.
You throw more stuff on your open suitcase, wipe the table down and look through your kitchen for an unopened bottle of wine while Charles reads and occassionally shouts something from the living room. He's so genuinely excited about seeing you bring Amy to life on the silver screen.
"Gooodddd, what's taking them so long?" you whine as you return to the living room. The 'your order is in progress' notification still alive on the screen of your phone. Charles doesn't seem to mind as he makes space for you to sit with him again.
"Couch potato," you stick your tongue out at him, placing your feet on his lap after reaching for the TV remote. You surf through a few channels, trying to remember what the name was of that crime documentary you wanted to watch on Netflix.
"...y/n y/ln making headlines again with her messy love life," the E! Show that's starting has your picture and Charles' next to each other.
Charles' eyes move from the last pages of the script to the TV and then to you. "Change the channel, love," he says as he reaches for the remote himself.
"Yeah," you click on the Netflix logo on the remote and the screen goes black as your phone pings, letting you know your food has been delivered to your apartment complex's lobby.
─────────
There is something beautiful about domestic life with Charles even if it just exists for scarce moments like this. The smell of coffee and the sound of his humming lull you into a peaceful state of mind as you prepare breakfast before once again leaving for the airport.
Messages from Mildred, three or four already, remind you that you must be ready for the list of things she had also reminded you of a million times already.
'how did he take it?' you read from your phone, Mildred again.
You look at Charles and open your mouth. Maybe now that he's leaving in a couple hours you'll work up the courage to tell him about how Mildred is staging your break-up right this second. Which means nothing, right? Keeping it lowkey is for the best, even for him.
Right?
You open your mouth and close it several times looking at your disheveled boyfriend and his sweet smile.
"What?"
"There's something I have to tell you," you breathe out, screwing the already too tight cap on the empty bottle of orange juice that rests on the table.
"So tell me," Charles' smile widens as he puts both elbows on the table, ready to listen.
"I'm really going to miss you." you chuckle awkwardly, and there is momentary gesture, barely perceptible, in Charles' face that tells you he knows that's not what you really wanted to say.
"Me too soleil, but we'll figure it out," he's reaching for your hand with a weaker smile on his face this time.

AFTER months of speculation about the nature of y/n's relationship with Formula 1 Pilot Charles Leclerc, a spokesperson for the actress has made an exclusive statemen for PEOPLE.
"They have never been romantically-involved," the source said. "Their friendship is undeniable but there's nothing more than that."
y/ln and Leclerc have been linked since April and spotted in public together several times, including at the Italian Grand Prix on September 3rd.
"Since becoming friendly they've ran into each other at several events," the source continues, "They are often surrounded by friends they have in common, such as Matilde Bassi and Timothée Chalamet. y/n knows it's too soon to put herself out there romantically."
Despite a rumor surfacing on an online gossip site that they took a romantic vacation together in Greece, y/n's spokesperson tells PEOPLE that "pictures are often released without context to create controversy."
Tumblr media
Charles Leclerc has been blind-sided. Which, to be fair, in his career field is something he should be used to. But the feeling doesn't compare to being blind-sided by the person who is supposed to be your partner.
Charles understands, he always understands, or at least tries his best to do so. But this time, it really feels like he's reached his limit. It's not even about how he's become even more of the laughing-stock within his group of friends about how he's been parading y/n around and defending her honor for her to call their relationship 'casual' rather than not even getting a heads-up from her about the matter.
"Is there something you would like to talk about now, y/n?" Charles questions, trying his best not to let the anger flow into his voice.
Charles thinks the worst part is how long she stays silent, but it's not even close to what comes next.
"I tried telling you," she lies.
"When?" there is no point in hiding his anger anymore, even if he doesn't want to fight. This is one of those unavoidable things you expect to hit somewhere down the road in the relationship, not a month into it.
"I TRIED!" she repeats, unable to come up with any argument in her defense.
"You never tried! See that's the thing about you, you just wait for things to happen and then you 'try' to deal with the mess!" His accent is thickening with every word.
"If it bothers you so much—"
"What bothers me," he cuts her off, "Is how you cannot trust me with these things? What did you think I would say?!"
"Exactly what you're saying now, Charles," she sounds defeated and it manages to irk him an extra mile. "You don't understand—"
"I don't understand how you still care more about what people are going to say than about talking to me. I'm your boyfriend!"
There is another long silence during which he can hear faint yelling in the background of her side of the line. On his side of the world it's nearly midnight.
"I've been thinking," y/n nearly gasps, "That maybe we rushed things."
"Rushed things?" his voice is so small now he wonders if it can really travel half-way through the world.
"I— Maybe Mildred is right— I wasn't, I am not ready for a relationship." She stammers, and Charles can picture her pinching her thigh in that nervous tick she can't quite manage to get rid of.
"You can't even take responsibility for your own feelings?"
It's always Aidan, Victoria, Mildred... a handy list of people to put part of the blame on for when she doesn't want to say things herself.
And Charles accepts it. He accepts her messes because he wants her, but now apparently y/n doesn't even want him back.
"What do you even mean by that?" y/n scoffs.
"Can you even be honest with me, then? Say that it is you who doesn't want this relationship, y/n, don't put it on—"
"I'M NOT PUTTING IT ON ANYONE! THIS HAS BEEN A MISTAKE SINCE WE LEFT MYKONOS I—"
Charles didn't want to fight and now there is nothing to fight for, anyway. So he hangs the phone up, because sometimes things end in silence.
It's three am, and Charles Leclerc just got his heart broken.

Tumblr media
You’d barely slept, how could you?
Though you supposed that you should have been used to broken rest, this time it wasn’t for the usual reasons. There were no nightmares that clawed at your mind, no anger that made you sweat- but, there was paranoia.
There was crippling anxiety that had you wanting to hide beneath the covers, there was fear that gripped you by the throat. The sensation of being stunned was overwhelming, your thoughts were scattered and your world was tipped upside down.
Everything that you believed, everything that you had come to terms with, it was all a lie.
You risked a glance at the clock, groaning as you realised that you’d have to get up. It was a mission, more so than usual. Dragging your sorry ass from the safety of your sheets was proving difficult, but the knowledge that you’d have to go train with König made it all the more impossible.
You took a deep breath in as you pulled your top over your head. It was different now, the lines were blurred and König might not be the enemy that you imagined him to be. If there was anyone that was going to help you unravel this with the same urgency that you felt, it was going to be him.
He’d do anything to prove himself, anything to stay as a sniper.
He wanted to keep the life he’d stolen from you.
Your stomach turned at the thought, the words weren’t sitting as right as they used to. The anger that occupied your chest with relentless heat has begun to cool as of late. If König was truly misinformed, it would mean that he really was just trying to do his job.
It meant that he was paying the consequences for someone else's misdeeds.
It meant that he was also a victim.
A chill ran down your spine and the fire in your chest reignited. Maybe he was a victim, but he sure as fuck didn’t look like one- he didn’t look like you.
You groaned as you stepped through your broken doorway, the reminder of how unhinged König could truly be was unwelcome as always. You thought that the Austrian kicking the door down would terrify you, it told you that you were never safe no matter where you locked yourself up. Instead, the fact that he’d done it to ensure your safety confused you.
You mulled over it as you walked towards the gym, mindlessly stepping one foot in front of the other.
A couple of minutes spent trying to decipher how you felt towards König felt like hours, any small bead of energy expended suddenly blew out to exhaustion. The man was an enigma who left you stranded in your own thoughts, flailing to find land.
“Good morning, Birdy.”
You forced yourself not to flinch away from König’s voice as you stood deathly still in the doorway. The man offered you a small wave from inside the gym, his arm stretched over his head as he loosened his muscles.
You didn’t want to gawk at him, honestly. It was just kind of hard not to.
He was larger than life, something that would never fail to amaze you. The sheer size of him was one thing, but his presence took up the rest of the space in the room. The breath in your lungs dissipated into nothing as you took in his visage.
“Good morning, König,” you managed to say softly.
You both froze for a moment, the gentle return of his greeting had caught the pair of you off guard. You supposed that there had been a shift between the two of you over the past few weeks.
But the way you felt about the man before you gave you whiplash.
Torn between hatred, fear, familiarity and comfort, you wished you could just chalk him down to a psychotic beast that wished you harm.
But he wasn’t and he didn’t.
The path your mind had begun to wander reminded you of the revelation you’d come to.
König cleared his throat, slowly standing upright as if he didn’t want to shatter the fragile friendliness between you both. Finally, you stepped into the room, one heavy foot after the other and your heart in your throat. You wanted to break the silence between you before that unnamed tension could grow, feeding on the quiet and everything that went unsaid.
“What did you have planned today?” You questioned with a raised brow, “anything torturous and terrifying?”
The Austrian snorted softly through his nose, crossing his arms over his chest. The slight smirk that pulled his lips upward had your breath catching in your throat. He cast his eyes downward before flicking that jade gaze back up to meet yours.
“Isn’t everything I do “torturous” and “terrifying” according to you?” König said, the playful tone was obvious but tentative.
You took a deep breath. He wasn’t diminishing the incident, he was finding some semblance of humour between the both of you. You swallowed the small drops of rage that threatened to open the floodgates.
“No,” you said, pushing your hands into the pockets of your hoodie. “That’s just you, I meant the training this time.”
You watched the shift in König’s features, the way his shoulders relaxed and his eyes softened. The olive branch had been extended, received and the see-saw of emotions between you had finally tipped to fall on the opposite end.
“Well,” König offered a small smile, “I promise that the training today will not be as scary as I am.”
You tried to ignore the genuine relief that flooded through your chest, tried to maintain the easy-going air that had settled in the space between you. Despite your best efforts, anxiety threaded itself across your throat as you stepped closer to the looming figure before you.
König slowly uncrossed his arms, sensing the shift in your attitude. It seemed like he always knew, even when you said nothing and your face didn’t change, he knew. Sometimes it irked you, but at times like these when he could read you and adjust, you appreciated it.
“I promise,” he reiterated, that jade gaze as soft as ever.
You took in a shaky breath, then released. “Okay.”
“Okay?” König repeated, taking a step toward you.
“Okay.”
And right there and then was the first time you’d seen him smile.
It was brief, barely a flash of his teeth as he quickly regained control of himself, but it was enough. You knew that you’d never be able to dispel that image from your mind, you knew that you’d be thinking about it as you went through the never ending cycle of wondering whether you hated him or not.
You knew that you’d want to see it again.
A shiver ran along the length of your spine and an unfamiliar heat spread across your neck. You cleared your throat in an attempt to clear your thoughts. It might have been unsuccessful in that regard but it did get König to step into action.
“Right,” he said with a sigh, scanning the space around him. “The sooner we get started the sooner you can escape the torture.”
Now it was your turn to snort as you took your sneakers off. “If only it were that easy.”
König rolled his eyes, approaching you with slow and lazy steps that had your heart racing. You straightened up, letting him move closer until he was barely a breath away. The moment that you had both shared in the kitchen raced across your mind, the scene beginning to look dangerously similar- hopefully Graves wouldn’t appear around the corner to trigger your fight or flight reflex this time.
“Can I help you?” You managed to choke out, dropping your gaze from his.
“Uh, no.” There was mirth in his voice. The man took a step backward, his hands raised with his palms facing outward. “Are you not ready?”
You tried to not look at the size of his fingers, you tried not to remember how they felt wrapped around your throat.
“Ready?” You stammered.
You couldn’t bring yourself to make eye contact, frozen as you stared at those fucking hands. They’d done so much damage, so much.
You tried not to remember.
Saint had always told you to replace a negative interaction with a positive interaction whenever you’d begun to spiral. When you remembered how hard his eyes had been when you'd been on that roof, you tried to remember how soft they were when he spoke to you now.
Your mind fell back to the moment in the kitchen.
“I’m ready.” You nodded, taking in a deep breath as he moved in close again. The scent of him flooded your senses, the faint recollection of his deodorant, something sweet and woodsy.
Those hands slowly lowered and you watched as they fell to rest on your forearms.
You remembered them holding you down, pinning you to the concrete as the weight of him pressed into your stomach. But, you also remembered those same fingers holding you ever so softly as he inspected you for burns.
You let loose a soft breath, forcing your gaze upward. He was already watching your face, his eyes scanning your features for any sign of serious distress.
“Well,” König murmured, his words tasting of the caramel latte he’d been sipping on earlier. “You going to take me down or not, kleine vogel?”
You raised a brow, “you don’t need to cuss me out, I’m getting there.”
The man frowned for a short moment, mouth opening and closing as he fought to find the appropriate response. “I did not swear at you?”
The sentence was more of a question than a statement and while he was stuck in his confusion, you saw opportunity.
You swung your hands around the grip that he had on your forearms, digging your fingers into his skin instead. You dragged him towards you with a sudden jerk that took every ounce of strength that you had.
For a moment, you were worried that the giant wouldn’t budge. However, his whole body fell forward as you dropped onto your back with him above you. Both your feet came up to rest on his pelvic bone, bracing as the entirety of his weight fell onto your legs. The momentum was your best friend with this movement, pulling his hands to your chest as you kicked him over your head.
The sound of 300 pounds hitting the ground hard behind you had your heart soaring. Adrenaline was pumping through your system, propelling you to your feet as you spun to mount your victim.
König’s face was contorted, teeth bared as he gritted them hard. His hands were above his shoulders, fists clenched and you could tell that you’d stunned him.
Satisfaction flooded your being.
You scrambled up the length of his body, pressing your weight onto him as you clenched your knees hard onto either side of his hips. Your hands came down to push against his wrists, pinning his body as best as you could.
The silence between you both was only broken by the sounds of panting. König’s chest heaved beneath, shallow and quick breaths as his eyes slowly fluttered open to glare up at you.
“That was rude,” he groaned. “Smart. But rude.”
“Yeah, well,” you replied with a shrug, taking a moment to try and wet the dryness in your throat. “Fights are often unfair.”
König’s eyes narrowed for a moment before conceding your point. “Yes. Yes, they are.”
You’d seen the signs too late, the way his lips quirked upward before he ripped his hands from yours. You’d felt his fingers grip your waist but you were unable to react before the world tipped from beneath you. The floor met your back hard enough to banish the air from your chest and your body froze as you were spun right back into the disadvantage.
A gasp ripped from your throat, eyes wide as you stared at the man now above you. His hair fell across his forehead, resting atop his lashes as he watched you through a hooded gaze. Neither of you said a word and you didn’t bother trying to fight him off. König made a show of slowly moving to grip your biceps, your fingers scrabbling uselessly against his forearms as he pressed you into the ground.
His body was tucked between your thighs, spreading your legs far enough apart that they were rendered useless from beneath him. You swallowed hard, struggling to catch your breath.
“Very unfair,” he confirmed with a husky murmur.
“It’s always unfair with you,” you rasped, your fingers gripping his skin tightly. “Always, König.”
König’s face fell, any trace of satisfaction turning into something akin to sorrow. He cast his gaze aside.
“Perhaps,” he said. “ But, perhaps if you were prepared it wouldn’t have been so unfair.”
You watched him carefully.
“Wrong place, wrong time.” You whispered.
König met your gaze again, observing you for a long moment before offering a hesitant nod. “Yes.”
Maybe, this was your chance. This was the opportunity to talk to him about what you suspected, to hear his side of the story entirely. Maybe, if you could sift through the discrepancies between your stories and what his chain-of-command had told him, you could both unravel the mystery.
Either someone was trying to kill you and used him as the weapon to do so or something bigger was at play.
Maybe, both?
“Speaking of,” you began shakily, your fingers nervously tapping against his skin. There was no real way to gently ease into the topic, you’d just have to drop the bomb. “Do you think that maybe the whole incident was a little too… convenient?”
König fell completely still, his eyes baring into yours.
You supposed that maybe you could have been a little more tactful.
You swallowed nervously when his chest didn’t move to breathe, he was as still as a sniper watching for their target. He reminded you of a snake lying in wait, preparing to strike out at any given moment. Suddenly, you didn’t feel so confident that he was the one that you should have spoken to about it.
The man said nothing and you’d begun to realise that he didn’t plan to.
“I just mean that,” you scrambled for words, anxiety clawing at your throat when he only stared. “I just mean that maybe it wasn’t just an accident or a miscommunication, maybe they were using you as a way to get what they want.”
König’s face didn’t change when he spoke. “And what would that be?”
You hated how perfectly still he was.
“To take me out.” You could barely spit out the sentence.
The mans grip tightened against your arms and the small amount of trust that you’d built between each other teetered on the edge of a proverbial cliff. Adrenaline dumped into your system when he took in a deep breath, clenching his jaw. His eyes never left yours, holding you captive not just physically but mentally. You were scrambling for air.
“I think that you are overthinking,” he finally said, relaxing his grip and releasing the tension from his lungs.
Your heart dropped.
Overthinking?
Why wouldn’t he want to investigate this further? It would exonerate him, it would relieve him of the guilt, it would make him innocent.
“What?” You rasped, blinking as though it would clear your confusion. “How can you say that?”
“Easily,” König said, sitting up. His demeanour was suddenly so cold. He let go of your arms, shooting you one last look before he attempted to stand up. “You’ve been through a traumatic event. Overthinking is normal.”
Desperation clawed at your chest. Before you could stop yourself, you reached upward to snatch his hands. König’s fingers interlocked with yours and his eyes widened when you pulled him back toward you. Your hands were trapped between his and the floor once more, his face only a breath away.
But you couldn’t even think about the proximity and, for once, you didn’t even care.
How could he just dismiss you like that?
How could he just try to leave without even hearing you out?
“König,” you whispered pleadingly. “Please, just listen.”
The man shook his head immediately, trying to pull his hands from your grip. You held on as tight as you can manage, his name falling from your lips over and over as you begged him to stay. You needed him to hear it, you needed him to help you.
“Let go, Birdy,” his voice was firmer than you’d heard in months, the sound of it a shock to your system. How the tables had turned, this time you were not the one trying to escape. Regardless, you disobeyed, only tightening your hold on him.
“Just tell me what happened, maybe we can work it out,” the words sounded desperate, even to you. You sounded like a lover pleading for a second chance to make the relationship work. You sounded like you were holding to your last tether of sanity. You sounded crazy.
König’s face was hard when he tugged back again. “We already know what happened, Birdy.”
“Listen to me-”
“Let it go, Birdy.”
“But if you just-”
“Enough!”
You recoiled, flinching as he yanked his hands from yours, breaking your grip as easily as tearing a cobweb. König’s fingers wrapped around your biceps, pushing you back against the floor, restraining you from getting a steady hold on him.
The man leaned down, jade eyes alight with something you’d never seen. He burned, the thunderous expression painted across his features warned you that his blood was simmering beneath his skin.
“Enough,” König seethed, his voice dangerously quiet.
Fear trickled down your spine.
Your heart dropped.
As you watched the Austrian soldier lean over you with a ferocity that rivalled that godforsaken night, you realised that in your desperation you had been so stupid. So, so, so fucking stupid.
König wasn’t going to help you.
König was in on it.

To The One I Love - Part 8

➪in which you get your stitches taken out the same day a storm is said to hit, and you and tyler separate for the first time in two and a half weeks.

Tyler smiled at you as he went back out to make a second trip to the truck to grab the rest of the groceries as you watched him from the front steps. “I can help, you know,” you said once he passed by you again, his arms holding more than two bags on each one.
“I know,” he said back and paused next to you, towering over you a bit with his height. “But you’ve done a lot today already. You just keep doing what you’re doing; standin’ there and lookin’ pretty.”
You smirked and leaned against the post of the front deck, placing your hand on your hip. “Like this?” You asked, sliding your free hand up and gripping the white wood.
Tyler smirked right back at you as he nodded, “Yeah,” he answered, setting the bags down, “Exactly like that.”
He walked up to you and watched as your stance faltered a bit as he stood right in front of you, his chest practically pressed against yours as he stared down at you with nothing but love and adoration in his eyes.
“God, you’re so gorgeous,” he mumbled and you blushed as you let your arms fall to your sides again. Your eyes flicker between his own and his lips, and then you were giving him a shy smile and he wished it was time to go to bed already, because he was craving the feeling of being in his own bed he shared with you and having you in his arms. He wanted to kiss you and hold you so badly. He missed feeling your lips. He missed you. All of you. “You’re so beautiful.”
Your face reddens even more as you place your hands flat on his chest. “Stop it, you’re making me feel all warm,”
Tyler grinned before he shook his head. “I’m not gonna stop, never,” he mumbled, “You’re the most stunnin’ girl I’ve ever seen, baby. I can’t help but tell you that all the time.”
You poorly fought off a grin as you leaned forward and rested your head on his chest, your arms wrapping around his middle in a gentle hug that he instantly returned.
Your body was warm against his, and he buried his face in your hair as he breathed you in. Even after everything, he was still addicted to you. Every single part of you. “I miss you,” he mumbled next to your ear, and you just held him a bit tighter. He didn’t mean for the words to make you feel bad, but when he felt you tense up a bit and press your face against his chest, he knew you were feeling guilty again. “Hey, baby…look at me.”
The last thing Tyler wanted was for you to feel like any of this was your fault in any way. It wasn’t at all, and he knew that. He just wished you knew it, too.
You pulled away and reluctantly looked up at him, keeping your chest pressed to his as your eyes held a mix of frustration and guilt, and he hated all of it.
“Stop feelin’ guilty about forgettin’, baby. None of this is your fault, you know it and I know it. You think I blame you for somethin’ you had absolutely no control over? I don’t and I never have and never will, so stop thinkin’ like that,”he murmured, bringing his hands up to stroke your jaw.
“But…” you trailed off as you looked up at him with teary eyes. “I’m just…I’m so sorry. I’m so…so sorry, Ty.”
He knew you had been beating yourself up over this for a week now, and it was honestly killing him. He wanted to protect you, and he always tried to, but how could he protect you from yourself? “Babe, you have nothin’ to apologize for. It’s not your fault,” he said, tilting your head up so you can’t look away again. “It’s not your fault, okay? I don’t blame you. I promise you, I don’t blame you.”
You nodded and leaned into his touch, closing your eyes as you turned your head and pressed a kiss to his palm. Even though the getsure was small and the pressure of your lips on his skin was faint, it still sent sparks through Tyler’s body.
Tyler leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead. “I promise, it doesn’t matter that you don’t remember,” he mumbled, pressing another soft, barely-there kiss to one end of your stitches. “And I’m not mad at you for any of this, and I never have been.”
You nodded again before giving him a tight smile. “I’m tired,” you whispered and changed the subject, which he was kinda glad about. It was twice now that you had become taken over by guilt today, and he didn’t want to dampen your mood further. “Can I watch a few more streams? Or maybe I can help you unpack the groceries and we can watch some together after?”
Tyler grinned at your sneaky attempt of  trying to get him to let you help, but he was used to your tricks by now. “Yeah, you go get comfy on the couch,” he replied, guiding you inside and out of the afternoon sun. “I’ll handle the groceries.”
A few hours later, the groceries were unpacked and put away, and Tyler watched countless old streams with you until he got up to make dinner, then you asked to watch more after. He wondered if part of you, the one that failed to remember anything, missed those days that you had forgotten about, and that’s why you wanted to watch so many.  Eitherway, he wasn’t complaining. He liked reliving those memories with you.
When it became quite late, he set you up with a show and a hot chocolate you managed to convince him to buy for you earlier, then he had a quick shower in the bathroom attached to yours and his bedroom. As he passed by the bed towards the dresser, he felt a warmth take over him as water droplets rolled down his body. Finally, after what felt like forever, he knew he would be getting some decent sleep tonight. Because he would be next to you, where he belonged.
Half an hour later, you joined him in the bedroom just as he was pulling back the covers. “You sure you want me to sleep with you?” He asked as he fluffed the pillow on his side that he knew you’d been sleeping on since the fabric smelled like your conditioner. “I just want you to be comfortable.”
You turned to him with a small smile as you nodded. “Of course I still want you to sleep with me,” you answered, pulling off your hoodie as you sat down on your side of the bed. “This is where we’re supposed to be. Together.”
Those were the truest words he’d ever heard. Yeah, you and he were supposed to be together, and had been for over a decade. A whole decade with you, how lucky was he? Even though you lost almost all those years, nothing had really changed.
Tyler got in bed next to you, and almost instantly you moved closer to him until your body was pressed against his, your head on his chest. His hands ran up and down your back, your skin feeling warm even through the fabric of your shirt. You felt so perfect against him, so right. He felt like a giddy teen again, like how he did when he held you like this for the first time.
As he rests his chin gently on the top of your head, he can tell you’re almost asleep as he whispers, “You know I’d do anythin’ for you, right? Anythin’ you want…or need, I’ll do it. You know that, right?”
You hummed, nuzzling your face against his neck. “I know,” you whispered back, “You’ve proved that in the week I’ve been home.”
Tyler sighed quietly, tangling his fingers in your hair. “Promise me we’ll end every day like this,” he mumbled, “I don’t want to sleep by myself in that guest room ever again.”
You nodded, and that was enough for him, but your words just made the feeling inside him even more intense. “I already feel so much better and comfortable now that you’re here with me. I don’t want to be anywhere else than right here, with you,” you said quietly, clearly struggling to stay away at this point as you cuddled into his warmth. “So yeah…I promise.”
“Good…you’re where you belong, baby. Right here in my arms,” he said, then you were completely relaxed against him, and he knew you were asleep. But Tyler didn’t want to go to sleep yet, not when he finally had you back in his arms in almost two weeks. “I love you so much. So, so much.” He murmured, reveling in the familiar feeling of being this close to you again.
A week goes by, and Dr. James had called Tyler in regards to you getting your stitches taken out.
Tyler was a bit on edge today, since there was a Tornado watch out, but he wasn’t anxious because he was scared. No, he lived for the adrenaline of chasing, but he hadn’t left your side for two and a half weeks. He had completely put that part of his life on pause for you, and he wouldn’t change a thing about it.
Still, he felt the urge he always got to throw himself right in the line of danger whenever a storm was set to hit.
However, he was anxious about taking you back to the hospital, even though it was just for you to get your stitches taken out. He was in the kitchen, pulling open the dishwasher as he looked for his travel mug that he misplaced every single time he used it.
It was rather early in the morning, and he needed coffee if he was going to be able to make the drive to and from the hospital. “Damn,” he muttered, closing the dishwasher after seeing that the mug wasn’t in there. You wandered into the kitchen, looking as adorable as ever in your leggings and one of his flannels, but he barely smiled at you as he opened up a cupboard. “Where the hell did I put it?”
You laughed quietly before walking over to the cabinet across from the stove. You open it and pull out the black mug, holding it out to him as you mumbled, “Here,”
Tyler froze once he took it from you, and he glanced down at it before back up at you, wondering how you knew it was in there since he hadn’t used it in a few weeks, and you definitely hadn’t been rummaging around in the kitchen the last two weeks for you to have seen it in there. Somehow you knew where it was, though. At least your body did. “Thanks, baby…” he said as he set the mug down on the counter. “How did you know where it was?”
It wasn’t rare for you to always know where the things he misplaced were, but instances like this hadn’t happened since you got injured. And maybe he was reading too much into it, but by the look on your face, you were a bit confused, too. “I don’t know. I just had a feeling, I guess,” you trailed off as you, too, glanced down at the steel mug as if the thing had powers or something.
Tyler looked at you for a long moment, hoping that maybe this was a sign that your memory was on its way back, even if you didn’t know it. “You just knew, huh?” He couldn’t stop the grin from taking over his face as he reached out and took your chin between his thumb and index finger.
You smiled up at him before stepping into his arms for a hug. You had told him that you were a bit nervous to have your stitches taken out, even though your head was looking so much better, and he could feel the way your body thrummed a bit in his hold.
Just as he was about to speak, you pulled back and looked up at him for a few seconds before slowly leaning up to press your lips to his. Tyler froze for a second time as he processed the feeling of your mouth against his, the feeling so familiar even after he had gone without it for half a month.
After a second, he melted against you, his hand sliding to your jaw as he kissed you back, unable to stop himself after holding back for so long. He kissed you as if his life depended on it, the ache he’s been feeling since he carried you into that hospital the first time finally beginning to fade just a bit.
His heart was beating fast as he deepened the kiss, pulling you closer to him. His hand tangled gently in your hair as he softly took over, pushing you back against the counter as he wrapped his arm tightly around your waist. Kissing you like this felt as natural as breathing. It was how you and he always kissed, and it made him feel a bit light headed in the best possible way.
After a few more seconds, you pull away with a breath of air escaping your mouth, and you grin up at him. Your lips were a bit wet from his, and your hands were tightly gripping his biceps as you tried to catch your breath, and you looked so beautiful. “Damn, baby,” he rasped, stroking your jaw with his thumb. “I almost forgot how good you taste.”
He didn’t, that was a lie.
You laughed as blush took over your face, and you quickly covered his mouth with your hand. “Don’t say that,” you whined quietly, burying your face against his neck.
Tyler laughed too, wrapping his fingers around your wrist and pulling your hand away from his mouth. “Why not? It’s true, you taste so good,” he said again, and you just groaned and shook your head, pulling back to look up at him.
“We need to go,” you state, pulling away from him completely.
Tyler almost groaned too, because now he wanted to forget about the hospital completely so he could stay here and kiss you like a horny teenager all morning, but then again…that could wait. It had to. “You’re right,” he mumbled, filling the mug he now had a strange amount of fondness for with coffee before leading you out to the truck.
At the hospital, you and Tyler were both grinning as Nurse Karson led you into a room towards the end of a hallway. “How are you doing?” She asked as you situated yourself on the examination bed, the paper sheet wrinkling under you. “Any progress on those memories?”
You shook your head and answered, “No, not really,”
But Tyler couldn’t even bring himself to feel disappointed, because he was still thinking about your kiss in the kitchen earlier.
“Oh, that’s okay,” she smiled, gently turning your head so she could look at your stitches for a few seconds. “They look good, healed nicely. I’ll send in Dr. James in a few minutes.”
Tyler nodded and leaned against the end of the bed, smiling as you leaned towards him and pressed your cheek against his bicep.
For some reason, he felt the best he’s felt since the night you got injured. He felt hopeless before, like there was no way you and he would be able to completely restart things, but now that he knew you were still connected both physically and emotionally, he had a change of heart.
While the thought of you never getting your memories back hurt him beyond words,  he knew it really didn’t matter in the end, because he still had you.
Dr. James entered the room a few minutes later, a big smile on his face as he walked towards you. “How are you? How are you feeling?” He asked, shaking Tyler’s hand in a greeting before moving to the other side of you.
“I’m good,” you say, lifting your head from Tyler’s arm. “Feeling good.”
“I’m glad to hear it. Also glad to see smiles on both your faces,” he nodded, turning your head as he brought the light closer to your healed cut. “Looks great. You did a good job taking care of it. I hear that your memories still aren’t back, but don’t worry. It takes time. I’m just glad to see that you both seem a lot happier now than when I last saw you.” He grinned, reaching for a pair of gloves.
Happy didn’t even begin to cover it, but it was close enough.
Just as James was about to slide the gloves on, another doctor knocked on the door. “Dr. James, you’re needed in 203,” he said a bit impatiently as James turned to look at him. “It’s urgent.”
You looked between the two doctors before looking up at Tyler, and he just smiled and leaned down to kiss the top of your head. He was in such a good mood, he didn’t even care if he had to wait a bit longer now.
But Dr. James sighed and turned back to you. “I don’t want to keep you, especially since the weather is supposed to get bad soon. Do you mind if my friend here takes over?” He asked, gesturing for the other doctor to enter the room.
“No,” you shook your head. “I don’t mind at all.” It also sounded like you were in a great fucking mood, and that made Tyler smile as James nodded and quickly left the room.
“Alright, let’s see here,” Doctor…Hansen said as he walked over to you and turned your head a bit fast to the side, making you look up at Tyler with wide eyes as a slight smile formed on your lips. “Ah, just need these to come out, huh?”
Hansen grabbed a pair of gloves and scissors and moved to tower over you, and Tyler would’ve actually preferred to have waited for James, because this guy seemed like he was a bit too impatient for this.
“Okay, this shouldn’t hurt at all,” he mumbled, then began pulling at the threads of your stitches.
You winced, your eyes squinting a bit as you tried to stay still, but now Tyler was kind of annoyed, because this guy was clearly in a rush and wasn’t going as slow as he needed to be.
Tyler let you grab his hand as Dr. Hansen cut at each thread and pulled them out, and when you winced for a second time, Tyler leaned back to look at him. “Hey, can you maybe be a bit more gentle? You said it shouldn’t hurt, but it doesn’t seem to be turnin’ out that way, doctor,” he said, unable to keep the irritation out of his voice.
“I apologize,” the doctor muttered, but he did end up being a lot more gentle after that, and soon enough, the stitches were all out, leaving just a red line along your head. “There, all done. Any questions?”
You and Tyler shared a look before you both shook your heads, and he nodded before taking off his gloves.
“Alright then, you guys better get home before the storm hits,” he said, already heading towards the door. “Have a good rest of your day.”
Then it was just you and Tyler in the room. “I think I like James better,” you mumbled and Tyler hummed in agreement, helping you off the bed.
He turned you to face him so he could look at your head, and the skin looked a bit irritated, but he wasn’t sure if it was because of Hansen or if this was a normal thing after having stitches removed. “Are you okay? Does it hurt?” He asked, wrapping his arm around your waist as he walked with you out of the room and down the hall.
“Yeah, I’m good,” you replied, leaning against him as you reached up and ran your fingers along your head. “He could’ve been a bit more gentle, but it doesn’t hurt too much.”
Tyler furrowed his brows as he walked past the nurse’s station, and he made a mental note to call later and say that Doctor Hansen is a real prick. “It shouldn’t hurt at all, baby,” he sighed,  helping you up into the truck once you made it outside. The sky was a dark shade of gray, signaling that the storm was coming soon, and he sighed again before looking back at you.
“You want to chase it, don’t you?” You asked quietly as you leaned back against the seat, and Tyler didn’t lie when he nodded his head in response. “Do it. Drop me off at home and meet up with Lilly and the others. I’ll be okay by myself.”
Tyler shook his head and reached for your seatbelt. “No, baby, it’s fine,” he said, “I’ll get the next one, I don’t want-”
You cut him off by guiding his mouth to yours for the second time today, and Tyler shut up immediately as he returned the sweet kiss. It was short but just as amazing as every other kiss, and when you pulled away, you were smiling. “I’ll be fine, Ty,” you said again, “Take me home then go do what you do best, Mr. Tornado Wrangler.”
He was about to protest again, but the look you gave him had him grinning before nodding. “Okay,” he said quietly, leaning in to press one last quick kiss to your lips before shutting the door and getting in on the driver’s side.
While Tyler wasn’t very keen on the idea of leaving you at home by yourself, the storm wasn’t set to hit anywhere near the house, so he knew you’d be safe in regards to that, but what if you needed him and he wasn’t there? You’d been great since the day he brought you home, and he knew you were completely comfortable there, but still…he had his doubts.
His fingers were loosely laced with yours the whole ride home, and when he pulled up to yours and his little sanctuary, you looked tired when he turned to face you. “I can stay,” he said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. “I don’t want to leave you alone.”
You grinned and unbuckled your seatbelt to be able to turn and face him fully. “I’ll be alone for only a little bit. And I’m kind of tired, so you’d just be sitting with me the whole time if you were to stay anyway,” you pointed out as you brought his hand up and pressed the back of it against your cheek. “I’ll watch your stream and wish I was there with you, but I don’t want you to think about me when you’re out there okay? Focus on what matters.”
“So…you?” Tyler smirked, his thumb stroking your cheek bone. “I’m always thinkin’ about you, baby. Always.”
Your smile grew and you leaned into his touch. “Good,” you laughed quietly. “I’ll be fine, okay? Don’t worry about me. And please, please, be careful.”
Tyler knew you were right, and with a reluctant sigh, he nodded. “I will,” he said before leaning over to kiss you sweetly. “Call me if you need anythin’, okay? I’ll have my phone on me the whole time.”
You nodded and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, then you were getting out of the truck and walking towards the house as you subtly rubbed at your head.
-
Tyler had been gone for about twenty minutes now as you settled on the couch, a blanket covering your body as you touched your head some more.
You knew you should probably stop, but it was itchy and Dr. Hansen was definitely rushing the process of removing your stitches earlier. You had stitches in your arm when you were a kid, and that removal was painless, unlike this one. It shouldn’t hurt this much after.
Still, you propped your elbow up on the armrest of the couch as you fumbled around with the TV remote, and soon enough, your boyfriend’s face was on the flat screen. You smiled as a warmth took over your body, and you felt a sense of pride fill your veins, because that crazy guy on the TV was all yours, and had been for so long now, even if you couldn’t remember all of those years right now.
It was kind of crazy to see him go from the sweet, caring guy he was in the truck to the outgoing, wild and carefree person he was right now. It was honestly very attractive to see his many sides, and you leaned further back as you looked at his handsome face as he spoke to the camera mounted on the dashboard of the truck you had a large amount of fondness for.
Then the screen changed to an aerial view of the tornado, and your smile faded a little bit. A feeling of dread took over you, because that massive gust of wind was happening right now, and your boyfriend was near it. And would be getting even closer to it. Right now.
You knew what he did, and you knew you did it with him before you got hurt, but to see it now was something else. You didn’t feel this way when you were watching past streams, because Tyler was right next to you when you watched them, but now he wasn’t, because this was happening in real time.
You quickly looked around for your phone, unsure of why you were suddenly feeling like you were about to be sick as you scrambled across the couch to grab the device from off the coffee table.
Something didn’t feel right, and you were beginning to realize that it wasn’t just the side of your head that hurt, but all of it. Your whole head was pounding now, and it felt like your brain was expanding outside your skull’s limit.
Your vision blurred a bit as you pushed the blanket onto the floor, suddenly feeling overheated as you tried to find Tyler’s contact through the blurriness. Just when you saw his name, you let out a sharp gasp and dropped your phone as you cradled your head and fell back against the couch, the only sounds being heard were your pained moans and the cheerful, smug voice of your boyfriend on the TV.
Then it went black.
-
“Okay, lovebirds,” Lilly groaned as Tyler pulled you into his arms outside the movie theater. “It’s late, and I need to get some sleep if we’re gonna be chasin’ anythin’ tomorrow.”
Tyler smiled at his friend and nodded, tucking you close to his chest as he swayed with you in his arms. “Okay, Lil,” he mumbled, “Have a good night.”
Lilly nodded at you and Tyler. “I’ll see you both tomorrow,” she said, looking back to the street to check the traffic. “You guys get some sleep, yeah? No stayin’ up late doing…whatever.” She cringed before smiling and quickly walking across the street once it was clear for her to do so.
You blushed and buried your face against Tyler’s neck, murmuring, “Take me home, Ty,”
Tyler hummed, leaning down to press a deep kiss to your lips, holding you tight against his body. “Oh, I will, baby,” he said back, peppering your face with quick kisses just as a few raindrops started to fall. He pulled away and looked up at the sky, blinking quickly as the rain dropped onto his face. “It wasn’t supposed to rain tonight. You stay right here, babe, I’ll go get the truck.” He stated, guiding you to stand closer to the doors of the theater so you were out of the rain.
“I can get a little wet, baby,” you teased, leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek. “But you’re hot when you’re a gentleman, so I’ll do as I’m told.”
Tyler grinned and placed another soft kiss to your lips before pulling away. “You just stay out of trouble, yeah?” He teased back as he stepped out into the rain that hadn’t quite picked up yet. “Love you.”
“Love you,” you called back, smiling as you watched him walk quickly down the street.
As you waited, the air became a bit thicker, an indication that a storm was on its way, but not just a rain storm. No, you’d been in enough storms to know that this was much bigger than rain, and you were proven right when the woman next to you, who was also seeking shelter from the cold drops of water, began panicking as she looked at her phone.
You didn’t need to see the screen to know what she was reading, the loud alarm that sounded through the device told you that it was a tornado warning.
Then everyone on the street started to panic, except for you. You knew better than to freak out at a time like this.
As you stepped away from the doors, you heard the unmistakable sound of a girl crying, and when you looked to your right, you saw a kid standing in the rain, tears falling down her rosy cheeks.  Without thinking, you quickly made your way over to her, kneeling down on the sidewalk as you gently grabbed her arms. “Hey, it’s okay,” you said, instantly becoming soaked as you looked around for anyone that shared any of the girl’s features. “Where’s your mom, huh? Or your dad?”
She shrugged as she sobbed and clung to your shirt. “I don’t know!”
You furrowed your brows, feeling a sense of protectiveness over the young girl, who looked no more than five. “Hey, it’s okay,” you said again. “I’m gonna stay with you, okay? We’re gonna…” you trailed off as you looked behind her at the bricked wall of the theater. It was cracking with each passing second from the force of the wind and rain, and before you could get out another word, it began to collapse.
Without hesitating, you shoved the girl away from you just as the bricks shot out everywhere, the whole wall breaking apart and raining debris down onto the sidewalk. A burning sensation took over your body as a brick slammed right into your head, and you fell back before you could process what had happened.
Then your vision faded to black, and your eyes shut.

the summer before THE END...
(this fic contains @hotguycomiczine spoilers! go read it first! i'll wait!)
It’s midday. The sun is heavy and hot, bearing down against the asphalt and visibly making the air shimmer over the road. Summer in Hermitopia can be miserable, and frankly Cuteguy thinks it’s far more miserable than the bruises. The humidity makes his feathers stick together and itch in awkward ways, he’s sweaty twice over because he hadn’t had time to actually wash his costume between the last major villain attack, his recent part-time line cook job, and then this fight.
He’s in his early thirties and he’s becoming an old man, he thinks. His knees should not hurt this much, and yet here they are. Vigilantism is going to give him early arthritis.
They’ve driven off the villain. Didn’t manage to catch him, though. He wasn’t even from Hermitopia. That’s been happening more lately; people who see Hermitopia as some lawless wasteland where they can come visit, avoid drinking any water, and live out their dreams of being a comic book character, damn the consequences or collateral damage. It’s frustrating. Sometimes, deep in Cuteguy’s soul, he sort of thinks the Soup Group has a point in calling out all this bullshit.
Of course, they do all that murder about it. So. Not much better, really.
He leans against a building and tries to breathe. Normally he has a water bottle with his costume, but this guy had homemade napalm. Luckily, not real napalm! The water did work for putting out the fire! Unfortunately, it’s ninety-seven degrees and humid and Cuteguy has just done enough cardio that he’s honestly worried about the odds he passes out.
Out on the street, Hotguy is chatting with every civilian he comes across. He’s grandstanding. He’s giving blow-by-blows. He’s acting like his sweat doesn’t stink like a mere mortal’s. He has a water bottle, and he’s taking sips of it between chats with reporters and posing for cameras. There are enough cars and civilians that Cuteguy isn’t all that worried about the TCG yet. Hotguy’s still pretty damn wanted, what with the whole possession thing that they don’t exactly have the means to prove to the public, so Cuteguy’s got to keep an eye out for them, but with this many cameras on him? The TCG isn’t about to arrest him on camera. Despite everything, he's still too charismatic; he'd still make them look too bad.
Cuteguy wipes his forehead again. He does notice when someone starts approaching him; he might be exhausted, but he’s acting as Hotguy’s situational awareness while he’s busy playing up crowds. He can’t afford to be that exhausted, so he isn’t. That, and the woman approaching him is hardly as stealthy as the Bleeding Hart. Another thing he might have to give to the Soup Group were he willing to give them credit for anything: he’s never been able to fully stop noticing where everyone is around him. Hotguy had winced and called it “hypervigilance”. Cuteguy had said that he wasn’t any better, he just calls it a superpower. Hotguy had said it is hardly his fault his superpower promotes vigilance. Cuteguy had—
“Uh, good fight. Thanks,” says the woman.
“Oh, uh. You’re welcome,” Cuteguy says.
She’s tall and blonde. Also, she has four arms. Cuteguy should have probably noticed that first, but he didn’t, and that’s on him.
“Bit of a mess, especially in this weather. Hotter and they’d issue a heat advisory, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Cuteguy says.
He is not good at post-battle smalltalk. That’s why it’s Hotguy’s job. He’s good at causing chaos if needed, but chaos is the opening the TCG would need to get to Hotguy. Cuteguy glances in his direction. He’s posing and signing autographs still. He can’t help but sigh. They’re going to be here all day.
The four-armed lady follows his gaze.
“You know, I’d always wondered why you stick to him,” she says.
“Sorry?” Cuteguy says.
“I just mean—I watched the fight. Yeah, he’s good, but you’re decent at range too. You can get enough height to really not need perfect accuracy because you’ll be hard to hit. Wings are, uh, a pretty overpowered combat tool, really, especially when most of your enemies are on the ground. But you’re good at close range, so, uh, inside isn’t awful for you either, really.”
“I mean, you’re right, I am pretty good,” Cuteguy says, interrupting her. “I don’t really get—”
“Look at him,” the woman says. “You ran around more than him and he took the water bottle.”
Cuteguy wants to defend Hotguy for that one; it’s hardly his fault that Cuteguy dumped his water bottle on napalm like it would do anything. It did, which is convenient, but still. Not Hotguy’s call. He doesn’t quite get the chance.
“Even after everything last month, he’s still grandstanding too. Sure, he’s stopped shooting people for not being grateful enough, or holding rescues hostage for cash, but look at him. Hardly any better, is he. Sure, he says he was possessed—”
“He was,” Cuteguy snaps.
“—but like, is the guy he is now actually all that different? Just saying.”
Cuteguy stares at the man trying to get extra photo ops out of a group of passing runners. They’re topless to account for the heat, which is probably why Hotguy wants photos with them. Cuteguy can just barely hear the man asking to trade phone numbers. Is it worse or better, Cuteguy wonders, that the phone number Hotguy gives out just goes straight to Cub’s inbox? Is that catfishing or just good sense?
“He’s trying to help,” Cuteguy says.
“He’s desperate for attention,” the four-armed woman says. “You know, you’d probably be better without him. After everything that happened, your reputation would be better too. A little more in the shadows, a little less associated with his crimes.”
“He’s…”
“I just want the real reason, really,” the woman says.
“What do you…”
“Why would you stick with him when you’re so much better?”
Hotguy waves goodbye to the runners. He takes another sip of the water bottle. Really, there’s so much that Cuteguy can say here, watching that. He could say something about how, in the terrible days when the Soup Group had first come onto the scene, Hotguy had barely left Cuteguy’s side until Cuteguy started pushing him away. He could say that Hotguy is earnest, that he really does want to save people, despite the fact he also wants attention. He could say that he knows the man behind the mask now, and he’s seen his films, and frankly getting a little recognition as Hotguy kind of makes up for not getting recognition for his decent acting talent. He could say something about playing Mario Kart on the couch, or learning to aim a bow, or fights with Doc, or secrets shared that Cuteguy wants to make sure Hotguy never has an incentive to spread. He could say something about how dangerous fighting alone is. That’s probably the more sensible thing to say, actually; Cuteguy knows exactly how dangerous fighting alone is.
What Cuteguy says is this:
“He makes me happy.”
There is a long not-quite silence as sirens and cicadas fill the summer air.
“Huh,” the woman says.
Cuteguy doesn’t say anything else.
“Well. I mean. I don’t really know how to save you from that, so I guess I’ll just leave you to it,” the woman says. “Consider if he’s really worth it.”
She leaves. Cuteguy stares after her a moment before shaking his head and going back to scanning the crowd for any known TCG elements.
“Birdie!” Hotguy crows, running over from the reporters. “We’re on the 5 PM news!”
“Really? An out-of-towner with questionable pyrotechnics made it?”
“I got it worked out,” Hotguy says confidently. “But, uh, with that said, you look like you need some AC and a drink. I have so much Gatorade in my fridge that it isn’t even funny. All the labels are pulled off because it’s for that one football movie I did, right? And for some reason they didn’t want to give Gatorade the product placement, so they made all these sports drinks without—”
“Not in-costume, Hotguy,” Cuteguy says, but he doesn’t put any heat into it.
“—oh, you know no one’s listening, lighten up! Anyway, so the movie ended up somehow ordering far too many bottles, and you know what they say about underpaid actors and free food—or, I’m not sure it’s actually an expression, but let me tell you, I have never turned it down. And with the number of ele… electo-mites? I think? You know, all the sweat we’re sweaty about—come on Cuteguy, I don’t want you passing out on the pavement, I really didn’t mean to get caught out that long!” Hotguy says, grabbing Cuteguy’s hand to take him back to his apartment.
Miserable heat or not, Cuteguy can’t help but smile slightly.
“I don’t want to pass out either, that’s why I’m not running, Hotguy,” he says, and he lets himself be tugged along in that man’s wake once more.

hey, this is the anon from before :) honestly would you consider writing a simon pov? cuz i’d like to see what he thinks during all the silence, the sudden stride forward to grab your chin?? immaculate. did he think of you too during those years gone? argh so much to talk abt.. honestly i picture he noticed you in the bar before you noticed him outside but wasn’t sure if he should come up to talk, which is a pretty simon thing to do.
Hi! I'm so glad you sent this ask—I absolutely love it! Writing from Simon's perspective is something I've been itching to dive into. But I have to admit, a full POV would give away a bit too much of the ending. Still, I didn’t want to leave you hanging, so I’ve written a short drabble! Thank you again for the thoughtful message—it really made my day!
Drabble One of Where We Part (previous chapter) (next chapter) (masterlist) Childhood Friend!Simon x fem!Reader

The streets of Manchester hadn’t changed, not really.
Returning here was like walking through a graveyard of memories he’d long buried, each street corner a ghost, each familiar landmark an infected scar. Selling his childhood home felt like cutting loose the last thread of a life he had tried so hard to leave behind, something he hadn’t let himself think about for years. He’d avoided this return like the plague. It was a place he never wanted to think about, let alone see again, yet here he was. He was back, and the weight of the past was heavier than he’d imagined.
He hadn't meant to stop by the old pub.
He hadn’t planned on drinking at all, but there he was, in the heart of his old neighborhood, the one place that had remained untouched by the passing of time. Stepping inside, the familiarity was suffocating—same stained floors, same worn barstools, and faces that blurred into ghosts from his past.
He sat in the shadows, nursing a glass of whiskey that tasted too much like pain. But he wasn’t here to reminisce, wasn’t here for the memories that lingered in the corners of this place. He was here to forget, just for a few hours.
But then, there was you.
Bloody hell.
The sound of your laughter reached him first, sweet and familiar, cutting through the haze of voices. He didn’t need to look to know it was you, but when he did and the sight hit him like a punch he hadn’t braced for. There you were, sitting with old friends, the same group from high school—familiar faces he hadn’t thought of in years. Time had touched you too, but softly, like a breeze, not the storm that had weathered him down.
For a moment, he could only stare.
The sound of you twisted something inside him, both sharp and soft, like a knife dulled by time. He hadn’t prepared for this—hadn’t even considered the possibility of seeing you again, not here, not like this. Fifteen years had passed, but looking at you now, it felt like no time at all, like the years between you had been nothing more than a blink. You were laughing, as if life hadn’t crushed you the way it had him.
He couldn’t tear his eyes away, even though every instinct told him to look away, to run before the memories dragged him under.
But the pull was too strong.
And when you ended up outside, in that small, dimly lit smoking area, he knew he was done for. It was like being pulled into a gentle current he didn’t want to fight. The moment you stepped into his space, the air felt different, heavier. The distance between you had been vast for so long, but now it was nothing—just a few steps and you were close enough to touch. Close enough to undo him.
He didn’t have a chance.
Not against you.
Not when you looked at him like that, with the same eyes that had once seen the boy he used to be, the boy he’d tried so hard to forget. He had no chance, not here, not in this place where the air still smelled faintly of the life he should’ve had.
You were everything soft, everything he craved and feared in equal measure. And as you asked for a light, as you came closer to him, the memories came crashing back. He had spent years building walls, but with you, they never stood a chance. The years fell away in that instant, and he was drowning in you all over again.
So he just stood there, watching, waiting, wondering how it was possible for someone to still hold this much power over him after all these years. Simon Riley, the man who had faced death countless times, felt his heart stumble in his chest as your eyes met his.
He really had no chance.
He could already feel himself drowning, sinking into the memory of what could have been, and he wasn’t sure he even wanted to swim to the surface.
